00:09:48.300 --> 00:09:50.300 And this week, that's what we'll attempt. 00:09:50.300 --> 00:09:53.300 We'll try and exchange what they have. 00:09:53.300 --> 00:09:57.300 So we'll go a step further than we went this week. 00:09:57.300 --> 00:10:16.300 And so this exchange is only possible if we force the devil to let go. 00:10:16.300 --> 00:10:18.300 Why is this important? 00:10:18.300 --> 00:10:22.300 If you turn to Colossians 1.13, you see that... 00:10:22.300 --> 00:10:27.300 Just go to 2 Corinthians 4.4 and Colossians 1.13. 00:10:27.300 --> 00:10:29.300 First, 2 Corinthians 4.4. 00:10:29.300 --> 00:10:35.300 We need to understand that people are being held captive by a real person called the devil. 00:10:35.300 --> 00:10:38.300 He's not a figment of our imagination. 00:10:38.300 --> 00:10:41.300 I know you know that, but there are people who actually... 00:10:41.300 --> 00:10:46.300 I met Pentecostals who think he's a figment of our imagination. 00:10:46.300 --> 00:10:48.300 I don't understand that. 00:10:48.300 --> 00:10:50.300 Colossians 4.4. 00:10:50.300 --> 00:11:03.300 Now go to... 00:11:03.300 --> 00:11:05.300 What was the other scripture I gave you? 00:11:05.300 --> 00:11:07.300 Colossians 1.13. 00:11:07.300 --> 00:11:15.300 Colossians 1.13. 00:11:18.300 --> 00:11:26.300 Colossians 1.13. 00:11:26.300 --> 00:11:34.300 So you see there that the rescue is actually from a dominion or a kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. 00:11:34.300 --> 00:11:39.300 So we are finding it difficult to go up to people and speak to them. 00:11:39.300 --> 00:11:45.300 And you must understand the resistance and the rejection is part of the war we are waging. 00:11:45.300 --> 00:11:53.300 In the bargain is the rescue of actual human beings from one kingdom into the other. 00:11:53.300 --> 00:12:00.300 The clearer it gets in your head, the more determined you will be in the process. 00:12:00.300 --> 00:12:04.300 The clearer it gets in your head, the more determined we become. 00:12:04.300 --> 00:12:11.300 That as we sit there, and I reject it, sometimes despised, sometimes mocked, sometimes scorned, sometimes received, 00:12:11.300 --> 00:12:21.300 that what is actually happening is a tussle between a person being delivered from something called the dominion of darkness into the dominion of the sun. 00:12:21.300 --> 00:12:24.300 Dominion is the same word for kingdom. 00:12:24.300 --> 00:12:32.300 And so at risk is someone, and that's why it is difficult. It's not easy. 00:12:32.300 --> 00:12:39.300 But at some point we are able to make the words that bring light and suddenly the blindness is lifted. 00:12:39.300 --> 00:12:45.300 Suddenly one gets converted. Every time you think it's difficult, think of yourself. 00:12:45.300 --> 00:12:52.300 Think of yourself. How difficult was it for people to get you from where you are to where you are now? 00:12:52.300 --> 00:13:02.300 I mean, I remember how difficult it was for people. People stopped fasting and praying for me, saying it's no use. 00:13:02.300 --> 00:13:09.300 I know how difficult it was to move Pawan from where he is to where he is at today. 00:13:09.300 --> 00:13:13.300 But a lot of people were praying and a lot of people were speaking. 00:13:13.300 --> 00:13:18.300 I mean, I look at Vivek and I can't even imagine how difficult it must have been to move him. 00:13:18.300 --> 00:13:29.300 This is what happens if you sit in the first row. 00:13:29.300 --> 00:13:33.300 So if we force the devil to let go, he lets go. 00:13:33.300 --> 00:13:46.300 But our weapons of warfare are words, prayer, sometimes logic, because God is very logical, truth. 00:13:46.300 --> 00:13:56.300 What he did, which seems foolish but is the only way to salvation, and what he's doing in your life. 00:13:56.300 --> 00:14:05.300 These are what delivers most people. Besides this, there's the instead of, where you pray for someone, 00:14:05.300 --> 00:14:11.300 where you say something to someone and it just clicks and it opens their lives. 00:14:11.300 --> 00:14:16.300 We know this. It's just putting it together. 00:14:16.300 --> 00:14:20.300 If we force the devil to let go of people, he lets them go. 00:14:20.300 --> 00:14:30.300 This is very, very old. What did God say to Moses? Tell Pharaoh to do what? Let my people go. 00:14:30.300 --> 00:14:37.300 It's very old. The same captivity that existed now, existed then exists now. 00:14:37.300 --> 00:14:43.300 Let my people go. Let my people go. 00:14:43.300 --> 00:14:47.300 And so every time you do that, he's forced to let go. 00:14:47.300 --> 00:14:55.300 What are our weapons? Our weapons are words, prayer, logic. God is logical. 00:14:55.300 --> 00:15:01.300 Truth, and what he did and what he's doing in your life. 00:15:01.300 --> 00:15:05.300 And then the last one is instead of. That's besides the announcement. 00:15:05.300 --> 00:15:12.300 Instead of is when you put into action the confidence that you have in God, that he can turn someone's situation around. 00:15:12.300 --> 00:15:18.300 That's crazy. That's when people find out whether you actually believe in your God or not. 00:15:18.300 --> 00:15:25.300 We are putting your confidence in the God you said is a friend, a father, a healer, a pain remover, a history maker. 00:15:25.300 --> 00:15:35.300 That is when people think, oh shucks, he's putting his money where his mouth is. 00:15:35.300 --> 00:15:41.300 And we will have opportunities this week to try this. 00:15:41.300 --> 00:15:48.300 And we can't do a thing. It's entirely the work of the Spirit. 00:15:48.300 --> 00:15:57.300 Any questions on this before we go on? 00:15:57.300 --> 00:16:23.300 So then if we know we are working against a kingdom or a dominion that holds people captive, 00:16:23.300 --> 00:16:32.300 how should we be? 00:16:32.300 --> 00:16:37.300 This is not imagination, guys. Look at the scriptural, Acts 26, 17, 18. 00:16:37.300 --> 00:16:43.300 I am sending you to open their eyes so that they turn from darkness to light, 00:16:43.300 --> 00:16:48.300 from the power of Satan to God, to receive forgiveness of sins and a place in God's family. 00:16:48.300 --> 00:16:59.300 That's why I am sending you. It's very real. 00:16:59.300 --> 00:17:05.300 Pardon? 00:17:05.300 --> 00:17:10.300 No, this is what I'm pointing at, Acts 26, 17 and 18. 00:17:10.300 --> 00:17:15.300 So that is what God is doing. 00:17:15.300 --> 00:17:21.300 So what kind of a lifestyle should we then live if we know we are working against a dominion that holds people captive? 00:17:21.300 --> 00:17:25.300 I can give you tons of scriptures that prove that, but I don't think you need that. 00:17:25.300 --> 00:17:34.300 The first thing we need to know is Revelation 12, 11. 00:17:34.300 --> 00:17:39.300 How do we overcome this enemy that holds people captive? 00:17:39.300 --> 00:18:03.300 So if you realize, here's what it says, they overcame him, they overcame him because the Lamb gave his life's blood for them. 00:18:03.300 --> 00:18:10.300 At some point during the series, we will talk about how everybody now belongs to Christ, 00:18:10.300 --> 00:18:14.300 but they can choose whether they serve him or not. 00:18:14.300 --> 00:18:21.300 There is nobody who is any longer belonging to someone else. 00:18:21.300 --> 00:18:26.300 Everyone, the price has been paid. There's nobody whose ransom has not been paid. 00:18:26.300 --> 00:18:34.300 Everybody now belongs to him. He actually exerts claim over them by paying a price for them. 00:18:34.300 --> 00:18:42.300 But whether they choose to serve him or not is the free will that he offers to them despite having paid a price for them. 00:18:42.300 --> 00:18:47.300 It's just completely nuts. 00:18:47.300 --> 00:18:54.300 So at some point during the series, we'll talk about the claim that Christ has on your neighbor, on the communist, on the Buddhist, 00:18:54.300 --> 00:19:01.300 on the Hindu, on the Republican, on the Democrat, the claim he has over them. 00:19:01.300 --> 00:19:12.300 That he, she belongs to me and then he gives them the choice, but they must know the choice and that is where we come in. 00:19:12.300 --> 00:19:17.300 We are telling them that someone has paid the price, you belong to them, do you want to serve them? 00:19:17.300 --> 00:19:23.300 That's what we are telling them. The good news is everybody has been paid for. 00:19:23.300 --> 00:19:30.300 Ones not born yet have been paid for. It's crazy. The logic of it is crazy. 00:19:30.300 --> 00:19:41.300 And so here's how they overcame the devil. They overcame him because they knew that the lamb gave his life's blood for them. 00:19:41.300 --> 00:19:56.300 Second, they overcame him by giving witness about Jesus to others. 00:19:56.300 --> 00:20:02.300 This is Revelation 12, 11. I'm just quoting directly from the NIRV. I'm not adding anything to it. 00:20:02.300 --> 00:20:06.300 They overcame him by giving witness about Jesus to the others. 00:20:06.300 --> 00:20:11.300 First, they knew that everybody has been paid for by the blood of the lamb. 00:20:11.300 --> 00:20:18.300 Second, they began to give witness to it. And third, they did not care too much for their lives. 00:20:18.300 --> 00:20:37.300 They were willing to risk their lives even if it led to death. 00:20:37.300 --> 00:20:44.300 We don't have that. We are risking our lives in having people despise us, people reject us. 00:20:44.300 --> 00:20:49.300 We are risking our lives in terms of us feeling bad. And it's not a small deal. It's a big deal. 00:20:49.300 --> 00:20:58.300 But this is just the beginning. There are people in different countries that are risking their lives unto death so that someone gets saved. 00:20:58.300 --> 00:21:05.300 But this is sure defeat for the enemy of our souls. This is what defeats them. 00:21:05.300 --> 00:21:11.300 It just completely takes away any advantage he has. And we will work towards this. 00:21:11.300 --> 00:21:18.300 Step by step by step we will work towards this. Where courage will begin to grow. Where the stakes will be recognized. 00:21:18.300 --> 00:21:25.300 It's very difficult, guys. Persecution is different in different places. In some places it's death. 00:21:25.300 --> 00:21:31.300 In other places it's a cancer of silence. The cancer of silence. 00:21:31.300 --> 00:21:38.300 We are saying that... We're not saying Christianity is exclusive. We are saying Christ is exclusive. 00:21:38.300 --> 00:21:47.300 Christianity is open to all. But Christ is exclusive in that the claims he makes are claims that no other god or religion can make. 00:21:47.300 --> 00:22:00.300 And in a society that despises exclusivity and emphasizes plurality, this is very, very difficult. You don't know what you're against. 00:22:00.300 --> 00:22:06.300 It's not easy what we're doing. Sure, you're not being thrown into prison. 00:22:06.300 --> 00:22:15.300 But you must understand that the force of everything around you, that the zeitgeist or the spirit of the world that we live in, 00:22:15.300 --> 00:22:27.300 smothers anything that is exclusive. He even gives orders to evil spirits and they obey him. 00:29:54.300 --> 00:29:58.300 News about him spread quickly over the whole region of Galilee. 00:29:58.300 --> 00:30:02.300 You know, people nowadays want authoritative teaching. 00:30:02.300 --> 00:30:06.300 You don't want to exchange authoritative teaching for teaching with authority. 00:30:06.300 --> 00:30:12.300 Authoritative teaching will have all the Greek and the Hebrew and the process and the system. 00:30:13.300 --> 00:30:22.300 But at the end of the day, do you want the ho ho ho or do you want to, in your teaching, present the truth? 00:30:22.300 --> 00:30:26.300 And the truth happens to be the person of Christ. 00:30:26.300 --> 00:30:31.300 Can you imagine where you begin to teach, where you begin to speak about Jesus and as you speak, 00:30:31.300 --> 00:30:35.300 it's like one of those science fiction movies where as you speak a hologram appears. 00:30:35.300 --> 00:30:40.300 I'm not saying Jesus turns up like that. I'm just saying that is what we are talking about. 00:30:40.300 --> 00:30:46.300 We are teaching is so from within, so from the spirit that as you speak, 00:30:46.300 --> 00:30:53.300 the person of Christ becomes real where you are talking and that provokes the demonic. 00:30:53.300 --> 00:30:58.300 It does two things. It exposes falsehood and it drives it away. 00:30:58.300 --> 00:31:05.300 Begin to expect this guys. Begin to expect this. Ecclesiastes 3.1, 3 verses 1-6 says 00:32:57.300 --> 00:33:01.300 there's a season and a time for everything. A time to be born, a time to die. 00:33:01.300 --> 00:33:06.300 A time to harvest, a time to sow. A time to mourn, a time to be happy. 00:33:06.300 --> 00:33:10.300 And one must know it. There will be someone you will meet at Starbucks 00:33:10.300 --> 00:33:13.300 who is mourning because their mother died yesterday. 00:33:13.300 --> 00:33:17.300 And if you are able to discern it, you will not start with, 00:33:17.300 --> 00:33:20.300 hey, Jesus wants to bring joy into your life. 00:33:20.300 --> 00:33:23.300 You'll start with a different sentence. 00:33:23.300 --> 00:33:28.300 There's a time and a season. Can we discern that by the spirit? 00:33:28.300 --> 00:33:32.300 Because he's present there. Remember, every time you go out to witness, 00:33:32.300 --> 00:33:36.300 the spirit of God is there. Why? And then it goes on to say, 00:34:21.300 --> 00:34:26.300 so, get up in the morning, trust God, take your acts, set your hand to work, 00:34:26.300 --> 00:34:29.300 and let things happen as they happen. 00:34:29.300 --> 00:34:36.300 It's holding both intention. Or go to Isaiah 28, verses 23-28. 00:34:36.300 --> 00:34:42.300 It says there's cumin, there's barley, there's wheat. 00:34:42.300 --> 00:34:47.300 Each one is threshed differently. Each one is worked on differently. 00:34:47.300 --> 00:34:52.300 Can you imagine if God used the same method to draw me to Christ with you? 00:34:52.300 --> 00:34:56.300 Mine was very simple. You're going to hell. 00:34:56.300 --> 00:35:03.300 I turned to him. It was a loving message, but it carried very negative connotations. 00:35:03.300 --> 00:35:08.300 You don't change, you're going to hell. I came running. 00:35:08.300 --> 00:35:13.300 But with some you try that and it won't work. 00:35:20.300 --> 00:35:28.300 Even in your speaking and teaching, try to present, try to build the composite of Christ the best you know. 00:35:29.300 --> 00:35:34.300 Sometimes I pray God that Father, I worked really hard on this teaching. 00:35:34.300 --> 00:35:39.300 Help me not to get caught up in it. He's teaching and a man can't bear his presence beautifully. 00:36:08.300 --> 00:36:12.300 What can't bear his presence? Darkness cannot bear his presence. 00:36:12.300 --> 00:36:17.300 We set people free from the power of Satan to the power of God. 00:36:17.300 --> 00:36:22.300 What else are we doing when we go out like this? 00:36:22.300 --> 00:36:35.300 We are giving evidence of a king who is making all things new, 00:36:35.300 --> 00:36:42.300 which in a sense sums up what the kingdom is. 00:36:42.300 --> 00:36:48.300 A king who is making all things new. A king who is kinging. 00:36:48.300 --> 00:36:53.300 A king who is kinging. He's making all things new. 00:36:53.300 --> 00:36:57.300 And nothing matters to him more than making a person new. 00:36:57.300 --> 00:37:02.300 In Matthew 12, 27 and 28. Matthew 12, 27 and 28. 00:37:02.300 --> 00:37:05.300 Take great courage from this. It says, 00:37:06.300 --> 00:37:12.300 It says, if I am casting out demons by the Holy Spirit, 00:37:12.300 --> 00:37:17.300 then know that the kingdom of God is in your midst. 00:37:17.300 --> 00:37:23.300 As in, hey guys, as you go forth, I will have you deliver people. 00:37:23.300 --> 00:37:28.300 I said that in Isaiah 61. This is something I want to do. 00:37:32.300 --> 00:37:35.300 I'm turning them from darkness to the light. 00:37:35.300 --> 00:37:38.300 I'm turning them from the power of Satan to the power of God. 00:37:38.300 --> 00:37:42.300 You may not even see it, but you need to know that I'm up to this. 00:37:42.300 --> 00:37:51.300 And if my spirit of God is doing this, then know, Dhillna, no crystal, no toony, 00:37:51.300 --> 00:37:58.300 that I, the king of kings, is actually kinging and making things new. 00:37:58.300 --> 00:38:02.300 It's happening. What does that do to him? 00:38:40.300 --> 00:38:44.300 Jesus said this to his disciples in Matthew 10, verse 7, 00:38:44.300 --> 00:38:48.300 As you go, tell them that the kingdom of heaven is near. 00:38:48.300 --> 00:38:52.300 He said, Heal the sick, bring the dead back to life, 00:38:52.300 --> 00:38:55.300 make those who have skin diseases clean again, 00:38:55.300 --> 00:39:00.300 drive out demons you have received freely, give them the power of God. 00:39:00.300 --> 00:39:03.300 He said, Heal the sick, bring the dead back to life, 00:39:03.300 --> 00:39:06.300 make those who have skin diseases clean again, 00:39:06.300 --> 00:39:10.300 drive out demons you have received freely, give freely. 00:39:10.300 --> 00:39:15.300 The moment you see anyone who has any skin problems, immediately remember Jesus. 00:39:15.300 --> 00:39:18.300 He likes taking care of skin problems. 00:39:18.300 --> 00:39:22.300 Dare to say, Hey, can I just pray with you? 00:39:22.300 --> 00:39:28.300 I know thousands who had skin problems change. 00:39:28.300 --> 00:39:32.300 But Jacob, I don't know if there are thousands. It's always been that way. 00:41:29.300 --> 00:41:32.300 So how did the gospels initiate this? 00:41:32.300 --> 00:41:36.300 Here are some ways that the gospels initiated this. 00:41:36.300 --> 00:41:41.300 Mark 1, Mark 1, 32 to 34. 00:41:41.300 --> 00:41:47.300 It says, in the evening after sunset, people brought to Jesus, 00:41:48.300 --> 00:42:03.300 brought to Jesus all the sick and demonized or possessed. 00:42:03.300 --> 00:42:18.300 And Jesus healed them and drove out demons. 00:42:20.300 --> 00:42:23.300 So that's one way they brought to Jesus. 00:42:23.300 --> 00:42:40.300 As in they will bring to you those that are suffering spiritually. 00:42:43.300 --> 00:42:50.300 But they won't bring to you unless they know you can help. 00:42:53.300 --> 00:42:56.300 So start advertising. 00:42:56.300 --> 00:43:00.300 Start advertising the Christ who sets people free. 00:43:01.300 --> 00:43:08.300 When I was at another church before this, there was a man who used to drive a truck. 00:43:08.300 --> 00:43:17.300 And every time he would drive a truck, this power would cause him to veer off the road 00:43:17.300 --> 00:43:20.300 and deliberately cause an accident. 00:43:20.300 --> 00:43:24.300 And so he went to multiple temples. 00:43:24.300 --> 00:43:30.300 He went to places that were spiritual here in Vancouver and nothing would help. 00:43:30.300 --> 00:43:33.300 And so he decided he would come to a church. 00:43:33.300 --> 00:43:42.300 But every time he would come to a church, his relatives in India would know that he has visited a church. 00:43:42.300 --> 00:43:46.300 And they would call him and say, why are you going to churches? 00:43:46.300 --> 00:43:55.300 And so in desperation, he went to a particular church on Fraser and they didn't know what to do. 00:43:55.300 --> 00:44:04.300 And so they referred the person to Acts 29 saying, Jacob, is there any way you can help? 00:44:04.300 --> 00:44:11.300 We've got to get to that place where people refer people to us saying, we have heard that you can help. 00:44:11.300 --> 00:44:14.300 How do we do that? By practicing truths. 00:44:14.300 --> 00:44:21.300 And so this person comes to Acts 29 and we tell him about who Christ is. 00:44:21.300 --> 00:44:23.300 He receives Christ. 00:44:24.300 --> 00:44:26.300 The demon leaves. 00:44:26.300 --> 00:44:30.300 And as it leaves, you can see his hair literally moving from one side to the other. 00:44:30.300 --> 00:44:34.300 It is just something physical that happened. 00:44:34.300 --> 00:44:37.300 But the point was not the hair moving from one side to the other. 00:44:37.300 --> 00:44:41.300 The point was this man leaves as a believer. 00:44:41.300 --> 00:44:51.300 He takes all the clothes, all the charms, all the rings that he had received from places in India and he trashes it and burns it. 00:44:51.300 --> 00:44:56.300 The moment he burns it, the people in India stop hearing what's happening to him here. 00:44:59.300 --> 00:45:08.300 We need to develop a reputation as a church that if you bring someone, they will go home free. 00:45:11.300 --> 00:45:14.300 And it can't be one or two. 00:45:14.300 --> 00:45:18.300 What if an entire group of people could behave like this? 00:45:18.300 --> 00:45:22.300 What if we walk towards that? 00:45:25.300 --> 00:45:29.300 Because these things are dying. Time to give it life. 00:45:31.300 --> 00:45:34.300 So they can't bring them to you unless they know about it. 00:45:34.300 --> 00:45:36.300 They can't know unless it's true. 00:45:36.300 --> 00:45:38.300 Anything true gets out. 00:45:38.300 --> 00:45:41.300 Jesus used to do this and he used to try to keep it quiet. 00:45:41.300 --> 00:45:43.300 Even Jesus failed. You got no chance. 00:45:46.300 --> 00:45:55.300 Jesus failed to keep his miracles quiet because someone would go and tell someone and every place he went to, he would not be able to enter because someone blabbed. 00:45:55.300 --> 00:45:57.300 But how can you not blab about this? 00:45:57.300 --> 00:45:58.300 Next one. 00:45:58.300 --> 00:46:00.300 Confrontation. 00:46:00.300 --> 00:46:08.300 Sometimes what would happen in the Bible is there would be confrontations like in Mark 5 verse 6. 00:46:08.300 --> 00:46:10.300 What happens in Mark 5, 6? 00:46:10.300 --> 00:46:19.300 Jesus comes to a land called Gerizin or Gadarene and there is a man who is Roman and he is a Christian. 00:46:19.300 --> 00:46:31.300 In Mark 5, 6, Jesus comes to a land called Gerizin or Gadarene and there is a man who is roaming in the tombs who cuts himself, who breaks his chains. 00:46:31.300 --> 00:46:33.300 And there is a confrontation. 00:46:33.300 --> 00:46:35.300 And in the confrontation the man is set free. 00:46:35.300 --> 00:46:37.300 Go further down. Just think of it for a second. 00:47:04.300 --> 00:47:07.300 These are not chance things that happen. 00:47:07.300 --> 00:47:17.300 These are encounters orchestrated by God where he uses the enemy's desire to attract attention as the very means of setting the person free. 00:47:17.300 --> 00:47:23.300 The encounter is so that Christ can use you to set the person free. 00:47:23.300 --> 00:47:35.300 I am hearing about a person who at present is dealing with a young child who cannot help what is happening inside her. 00:47:35.300 --> 00:47:41.300 But it has come out into the open and the child can be set free. 00:47:41.300 --> 00:47:52.300 So these are the different methods you will see in the Bible where God uses ordinary people like us who know and learn how to deal with the situation. 00:47:52.300 --> 00:48:00.300 And learn how to exert extraordinary authority to set someone free from an invisible power that holds them captive. 00:48:04.300 --> 00:48:07.300 What a glorious ministry we have guys. 00:48:07.300 --> 00:48:10.300 What a glorious ministry we have. 00:48:12.300 --> 00:48:17.300 To work with Christ in liberating the sons of God, the sons of Adam. 00:48:17.300 --> 00:48:21.300 Brought into bondage by that one evil thing that happened. 00:48:21.300 --> 00:48:23.300 Thousands of years of bondage. 00:48:26.300 --> 00:48:31.300 With what? With simple words like, peace be still.
