00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:07.000
Why does God heal? We know God is a healer, but now let's talk about why does He heal?

00:00:07.000 --> 00:00:17.000
As you get this, it'll give you such confidence, it'll give you such an expectation, which is partly why I wanted to talk about it.

00:00:17.000 --> 00:00:27.000
Because we're talking about Showtime. Showtime, which is our God-given theme this year, is a desire to display His nature,

00:00:27.000 --> 00:00:37.000
an expectancy to see manifestation of His power, and an ability to learn how to hear His voice better.

00:00:37.000 --> 00:00:41.000
We will show God in our midst. That's why we call it Showtime.

00:00:41.000 --> 00:00:51.000
And so understanding why does God heal can really encourage you in terms of, oh shucks, there are so many good reasons why God heals.

00:00:51.000 --> 00:00:57.000
It'll really lift you up. So let's just talk about that. You'll need your Bibles quite a lot today.

00:00:57.000 --> 00:01:01.000
So let's go. Why does God heal?

00:01:02.000 --> 00:01:11.000
One of the reasons He heals you is because He likes honoring faith, and He likes honoring your request.

00:01:11.000 --> 00:01:16.000
One of the reasons He heals you is because He likes honoring faith.

00:01:19.000 --> 00:01:25.000
He likes honoring faith, and He likes honoring your request.

00:01:25.000 --> 00:01:35.000
That's one of the reasons He heals. He's a God who honors your faith and who honors your request.

00:01:35.000 --> 00:01:40.000
Go to James 5, 14-16.

00:01:43.000 --> 00:01:45.000
James 5, 14-16.

00:01:45.000 --> 00:01:48.000
James 5, 14-16, after Hebrews.

00:01:51.000 --> 00:02:00.000
And it says there that, is any of you in trouble, he should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.

00:02:00.000 --> 00:02:06.000
Is any of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him.

00:02:06.000 --> 00:02:09.000
Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise.

00:02:09.000 --> 00:02:17.000
Is any of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

00:02:17.000 --> 00:02:24.000
And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well, and the Lord will raise him up.

00:02:24.000 --> 00:02:29.000
One of the reasons God likes healing is because He likes honoring faith.

00:02:29.000 --> 00:02:35.000
The prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up.

00:02:35.000 --> 00:02:39.000
This is one of the reasons He heals. He likes honoring faith.

00:02:39.000 --> 00:02:50.000
Go to Mark 10, 47.

00:02:56.000 --> 00:03:00.000
Then they came to Jericho. Mark 10, 46, 47 onwards.

00:03:00.000 --> 00:03:03.000
Then they came to Jericho. Am I still on?

00:03:06.000 --> 00:03:11.000
Make sure the volume on the recording is high enough, because otherwise people find it difficult.

00:03:11.000 --> 00:03:18.000
Chris can't hear right now on this speaker, so if you need to use the other mic, let me know.

00:03:18.000 --> 00:03:21.000
Mark 10, 46 onwards.

00:03:21.000 --> 00:03:28.000
Then they came to Jericho, as Jesus and his disciples together with a large crowd were leaving the city.

00:03:28.000 --> 00:03:33.000
A blind man, Bartimaeus, that is the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside begging.

00:03:33.000 --> 00:03:37.000
When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout,

00:03:37.000 --> 00:03:39.000
Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me.

00:03:39.000 --> 00:03:44.000
Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, son of David, have mercy on me.

00:03:44.000 --> 00:03:46.000
Jesus stopped and said, call him.

00:03:46.000 --> 00:03:50.000
So they called out to the blind man, cheer up, on your feet he's calling you.

00:03:50.000 --> 00:03:53.000
Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

00:03:53.000 --> 00:03:56.000
What do you want me to do for you, Jesus asked him.

00:03:56.000 --> 00:03:59.000
The blind man said, Rabbi, I want to see.

00:03:59.000 --> 00:04:03.000
Go, said Jesus, your faith has healed you.

00:04:03.000 --> 00:04:07.000
Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.

00:04:07.000 --> 00:04:12.000
God heals because he likes honoring faith.

00:04:12.000 --> 00:04:16.000
Go, your faith has made you well, and he went.

00:04:16.000 --> 00:04:21.000
God heals because he likes giving you your request.

00:04:21.000 --> 00:04:25.000
How simple is that? God heals because he likes giving you your request.

00:04:25.000 --> 00:04:35.000
Mark 7, Mark 7, 32 to 35, Mark 7, 32 to 35.

00:04:41.000 --> 00:04:49.000
Then Jesus left the vicinity of Tyre and went through Sidon down to the Sea of Galilee and into the region of Decapolis.

00:04:50.000 --> 00:04:57.000
There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man.

00:04:57.000 --> 00:05:08.000
There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him, pleaded with him, requested him to place his hand on the man.

00:05:08.000 --> 00:05:13.000
After he took him aside away from the crowd, Jesus put his fingers into the man's ear.

00:05:13.000 --> 00:05:16.000
Then he spit and touched the man's tongue.

00:05:16.000 --> 00:05:23.000
He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, Ephatah, which means be open.

00:05:23.000 --> 00:05:29.000
At this the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened, and he began to speak plainly.

00:05:29.000 --> 00:05:34.000
Jesus gave them what they asked for.

00:05:34.000 --> 00:05:43.000
One of the reasons God heals is because you make a request you ask, and therefore because you've asked, he heals.

00:05:44.000 --> 00:05:47.000
What a wonderful God this is.

00:05:47.000 --> 00:05:50.000
He said, Ephatah, be open. Immediately his ears were opened.

00:05:50.000 --> 00:05:57.000
Go to Mark 9, Mark 9, 22-27.

00:06:02.000 --> 00:06:05.000
Jesus asked the boy's father, how long has he been like this?

00:06:05.000 --> 00:06:11.000
From childhood he answered, it has often thrown him into the fire or water to kill him, but if you can do anything,

00:06:11.000 --> 00:06:14.000
take pity on us and help us. If you can, said Jesus.

00:06:14.000 --> 00:06:17.000
Everything is possible for him who believes.

00:06:17.000 --> 00:06:22.000
Immediately the boy's father exclaimed, I do believe me, help me overcome my unbelief.

00:06:22.000 --> 00:06:26.000
When Jesus saw that a crowd was running to the scene, he rebuked the evil spirit.

00:06:26.000 --> 00:06:30.000
You deaf and mute spirit, he said, I command you come out of him and never enter him again.

00:06:30.000 --> 00:06:33.000
The spirit shrieked, convulsed him violently and came out.

00:06:33.000 --> 00:06:36.000
The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said he's dead,

00:06:37.000 --> 00:06:41.000
but Jesus took him by his hand and lifted him to his feet and he stood up.

00:06:41.000 --> 00:06:47.000
Why did Jesus heal this boy? Because his father came and asked, saying, my boy is in trouble.

00:06:47.000 --> 00:06:51.000
The father didn't even have enough faith to believe, but he asked.

00:06:51.000 --> 00:06:57.000
God sometimes heals because he wants to honor your faith or honor your asking or request.

00:06:58.000 --> 00:07:07.000
The second reason God heals is he wants to expose or display his attributes.

00:07:17.000 --> 00:07:20.000
He wants to expose or display his attributes.

00:07:20.000 --> 00:07:34.000
What in your opinion is the most obvious attribute in healing that is displayed?

00:07:37.000 --> 00:07:43.000
Mark 1 verse 41 and 42. You're not wrong Diana. Mark 1, 41 and 42.

00:07:51.000 --> 00:07:55.000
A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees.

00:07:55.000 --> 00:07:58.000
If you're willing, you can make me clean.

00:07:58.000 --> 00:08:07.000
Filled with anger, Jesus reached out his hand. No, filled with compassion.

00:08:07.000 --> 00:08:13.000
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. I am willing, he said, be clean.

00:08:13.000 --> 00:08:16.000
Immediately the leprosy left him.

00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:20.000
Matthew 20 verse 34.

00:08:22.000 --> 00:08:26.000
Father, please heal this mic in Jesus name.

00:08:26.000 --> 00:08:29.000
Matthew 20, 34.

00:08:32.000 --> 00:08:34.000
Matthew 20, 34.

00:08:35.000 --> 00:08:37.000
Is there a 34? Yeah.

00:08:37.000 --> 00:08:40.000
Jesus stopped, starting at verse 29.

00:08:40.000 --> 00:08:48.000
As Jesus and his disciples were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed him.

00:08:48.000 --> 00:08:53.000
Two blind men were sitting by the roadside and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted,

00:08:53.000 --> 00:08:56.000
Lord, son of David, have mercy on us.

00:08:56.000 --> 00:09:00.000
The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet but they shouted all the louder.

00:09:00.000 --> 00:09:03.000
Lord, son of David, have mercy on us. Jesus stopped them and called them.

00:09:03.000 --> 00:09:06.000
What do you want me to do for you? He asked. Lord, they answered.

00:09:06.000 --> 00:09:15.000
We want our sight. Jesus had compassion on them and touched their eyes.

00:09:15.000 --> 00:09:18.000
Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

00:09:18.000 --> 00:09:21.000
Jesus had compassion.

00:09:21.000 --> 00:09:29.000
One of the attributes that is displayed, one of the reasons God heals is because he wants to display or expose his attributes.

00:09:29.000 --> 00:09:34.000
And one of the strongest attributes that is displayed in healing is compassion.

00:09:34.000 --> 00:09:41.000
Why does God heal? Because he is gracious and compassionate and compassion is an attribute that he wants to show.

00:09:41.000 --> 00:09:44.000
That's one of the reasons why God heals. Go ahead, Jake.

00:09:44.000 --> 00:09:57.000
You were being serious.

00:09:57.000 --> 00:09:59.000
You were being serious.

00:09:59.000 --> 00:10:04.000
Okay, NIV doesn't say it because I'm reading from the NIV.

00:10:04.000 --> 00:10:08.000
That's too small. My eyes can't read it.

00:10:08.000 --> 00:10:15.000
Jesus had compassion. It says indignant. I'll have to go check it out.

00:10:15.000 --> 00:10:20.000
It is indignant compassion.

00:10:20.000 --> 00:10:27.000
Let me explain indignant. Let me explain.

00:10:27.000 --> 00:10:30.000
Yeah, so we'll work with that on the next sermon.

00:10:30.000 --> 00:10:38.000
But one of the attributes that's most obvious in healing is compassion because that is very nature.

00:10:38.000 --> 00:10:43.000
Slow to be indignant and full of compassion.

00:10:43.000 --> 00:10:46.000
Yeah, yeah. That's why I said indignant compassion.

00:10:46.000 --> 00:10:55.000
Because there have been times when I've seen kids sick or when I've seen someone I like a lot sick and such anger grasps me.

00:10:55.000 --> 00:11:00.000
And there's an how dare you touch this innocent child kind of a thing.

00:11:00.000 --> 00:11:02.000
So that's why I said indignant compassion.

00:11:02.000 --> 00:11:07.000
That's what Elmer had when Eli was here the last time.

00:11:07.000 --> 00:11:12.000
He looked at him and he had that indignant compassion.

00:11:12.000 --> 00:11:17.000
How do you take this?

00:11:17.000 --> 00:11:25.000
And stop reading the normal print, not the fine print, James.

00:11:26.000 --> 00:11:32.000
So one of the attributes that's exposed during healing is compassion.

00:11:32.000 --> 00:11:39.000
So why does God heal? Because he wants to display his compassion, display his attribute.

00:11:39.000 --> 00:11:42.000
I love this. Why does God heal?

00:11:42.000 --> 00:11:48.000
One, because he likes honoring my faith or likes honoring me, likes honoring my request.

00:11:48.000 --> 00:11:51.000
Two, he likes healing because it displays his attributes.

00:11:51.000 --> 00:11:56.000
And one of his attributes is compassion.

00:11:56.000 --> 00:12:01.000
Thirdly, why does God heal?

00:12:01.000 --> 00:12:04.000
God heals because he likes authenticating himself and his word.

00:12:04.000 --> 00:12:07.000
He likes authenticating himself.

00:12:07.000 --> 00:12:16.000
He likes authenticating himself and his word.

00:12:18.000 --> 00:12:24.000
He likes authenticating himself and his word.

00:12:24.000 --> 00:12:33.000
Matthew 11, 3-5.

00:12:33.000 --> 00:12:46.000
When John heard in prison what Christ was doing, he sent his disciples to ask him,

00:12:46.000 --> 00:12:50.000
Are you the one who was to come or should we expect someone else?

00:12:50.000 --> 00:12:53.000
Jesus replied, Go back and report to John what you hear and see.

00:12:53.000 --> 00:12:58.000
The blind receive sight, the lame walk, and those who have leprosy are cured.

00:12:58.000 --> 00:13:03.000
The deaf fear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.

00:13:03.000 --> 00:13:06.000
Blessed is the man who does not fall away and account of me.

00:13:06.000 --> 00:13:09.000
One of the reasons God heals, they come and ask him, are you the coming one?

00:13:09.000 --> 00:13:12.000
Meaning, are you the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of God?

00:13:12.000 --> 00:13:15.000
And he says, he doesn't tell him. He doesn't say, Yep, I am.

00:13:15.000 --> 00:13:17.000
He says, Go tell them.

00:13:17.000 --> 00:13:20.000
Because why? The Old Testament had talked about how this Messiah will come and the lame will walk

00:13:20.000 --> 00:13:23.000
and the blind will see. He says, Go tell them.

00:13:23.000 --> 00:13:27.000
Go tell John that the sick are being healed, the dead are being raised,

00:13:27.000 --> 00:13:30.000
the blind can see and the deaf can hear, and the lame can walk.

00:13:30.000 --> 00:13:34.000
One of the reasons God heals is because he displays who he is.

00:13:34.000 --> 00:13:39.000
There's not even an attribute. It's as in compassion needs.

00:13:39.000 --> 00:13:44.000
It's an authentication or a validation of who he is and what he does.

00:13:44.000 --> 00:13:47.000
This is who God is. He's a healer.

00:13:47.000 --> 00:13:50.000
And he authenticates his word.

00:13:50.000 --> 00:13:54.000
Psalm 103 verse 5, anybody?

00:13:54.000 --> 00:13:57.000
He heals all our diseases.

00:13:57.000 --> 00:14:01.000
Psalm 107 verse 20, anybody?

00:14:01.000 --> 00:14:06.000
He sent his word and healed our diseases.

00:14:06.000 --> 00:14:11.000
Mark 16, 20, anybody?

00:14:11.000 --> 00:14:16.000
Don't need the fine print on Mark 16 either, because it has fine print.

00:14:16.000 --> 00:14:22.000
Mark 16, 20 says, and he went and worked with them,

00:14:22.000 --> 00:14:27.000
validating what they spoke with signs and wonders.

00:14:27.000 --> 00:14:35.000
So at the end of the day, one of the reasons God heals is because he likes authenticating his word.

00:14:35.000 --> 00:14:39.000
And he makes it obvious as to who he is.

00:14:39.000 --> 00:14:43.000
He likes authenticating his word.

00:14:43.000 --> 00:14:47.000
Isaiah 55 says, when I send out my word, it shall not come back.

00:14:47.000 --> 00:14:52.000
Boy, it will accomplish the purpose and it will prosper my pleasure.

00:14:52.000 --> 00:14:57.000
And his word very clearly indicates again and again that he is someone who enjoys healing.

00:14:57.000 --> 00:15:02.000
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases.

00:15:02.000 --> 00:15:07.000
He sends his word and heals my diseases.

00:15:07.000 --> 00:15:10.000
See, God works with me. I love that.

00:15:10.000 --> 00:15:11.000
Just listen to this, guys.

00:15:11.000 --> 00:15:19.000
This year, you have an opportunity to step into a place where God will work with you,

00:15:19.000 --> 00:15:23.000
God will work with you to confirm the word with signs and wonders.

00:15:23.000 --> 00:15:26.000
Let me say that again. Hear that.

00:15:26.000 --> 00:15:32.000
This year, you have an opportunity to let God work with you,

00:15:32.000 --> 00:15:38.000
confirming what you speak or confirming the word, not what you speak.

00:15:38.000 --> 00:15:46.000
This year, you have an opportunity to let God work with you to confirm the word with signs and wonders.

00:15:46.000 --> 00:15:50.000
And so if you want God to work with you in this area,

00:15:50.000 --> 00:15:54.000
you need to now begin to speak, display, go and do.

00:15:54.000 --> 00:15:56.000
Because it won't happen otherwise.

00:15:56.000 --> 00:15:58.000
We talked about that last time.

00:15:58.000 --> 00:16:08.000
Outflow induces thirst, stagnancy inhibits thirst or filling.

00:16:08.000 --> 00:16:10.000
No, I was talking about the Holy Spirit.

00:16:10.000 --> 00:16:13.000
I said that if you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit,

00:16:13.000 --> 00:16:17.000
you have to have an outflow of what the Spirit of God has put in you.

00:16:17.000 --> 00:16:21.000
Outflow induces filling.

00:16:21.000 --> 00:16:24.000
Stagnation inhibits filling.

00:16:24.000 --> 00:16:29.000
But outflow is impossible without foolishness.

00:16:29.000 --> 00:16:33.000
You have to be foolish to have an outflow out of your life.

00:16:33.000 --> 00:16:39.000
You cannot have an outflow of the life of God through you unless you are foolish.

00:16:39.000 --> 00:16:44.000
If I am not foolish, I will not go pick up someone on the road and say,

00:16:45.000 --> 00:16:48.000
I will not go pick up someone on the road and say,

00:16:48.000 --> 00:16:51.000
someone send me to pick you up.

00:16:51.000 --> 00:16:57.000
You have to have foolishness for outflow to happen.

00:16:57.000 --> 00:17:04.000
And you have to have outflow to induce filling.

00:17:04.000 --> 00:17:10.000
And so God is willing this year on this trip for the rest of the 11 months

00:17:10.000 --> 00:17:14.000
to work with you and me to confirm the word with signs and wonders.

00:17:14.000 --> 00:17:19.000
But I must speak, I must display, I must go, I must do.

00:17:19.000 --> 00:17:22.000
Showtime.

00:17:22.000 --> 00:17:27.000
Stagnation inhibits.

00:17:27.000 --> 00:17:35.000
Stagnation inhibits. Outflow induces.

00:17:35.000 --> 00:17:44.000
The other reason why God heals is because healing leads others to repent.

00:17:44.000 --> 00:17:52.000
Healing leads others to repent.

00:17:52.000 --> 00:17:59.000
Healing leads others to repent.

00:17:59.000 --> 00:18:01.000
Ryan, can you pick that up for me?

00:18:01.000 --> 00:18:05.000
Actually, because if I bend this, Mike will start making noise.

00:18:05.000 --> 00:18:06.000
Thanks.

00:18:06.000 --> 00:18:10.000
And I really meant that.

00:18:10.000 --> 00:18:12.000
Ryan, honest, because it will start making noises.

00:18:12.000 --> 00:18:15.000
It wasn't trying to make a noise.

00:18:15.000 --> 00:18:17.000
Leads others to repent.

00:18:17.000 --> 00:18:19.000
Healing leads others to repent.

00:18:19.000 --> 00:18:30.000
Go to Acts chapter 9.

00:18:30.000 --> 00:18:33.000
I wish I had this on my ear all the time.

00:18:33.000 --> 00:18:41.000
Acts chapter 9, verse 33.

00:18:41.000 --> 00:18:43.000
Acts chapter 9, verse 33.

00:18:43.000 --> 00:18:48.000
As Peter traveled about the country, he went to visit the saints in Lydda.

00:18:48.000 --> 00:18:55.000
There he found a man named Aeneas, a paralytic who had been bedridden for 80 years.

00:18:55.000 --> 00:18:59.000
As Peter said to him, Jesus Christ heals you.

00:18:59.000 --> 00:19:01.000
Get up and take care of your man.

00:19:01.000 --> 00:19:03.000
Immediately Aeneas got up.

00:19:03.000 --> 00:19:08.000
All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon saw him and turned to the Lord.

00:19:08.000 --> 00:19:09.000
Another one.

00:19:09.000 --> 00:19:15.000
Acts chapter 3, verse 9.

00:19:15.000 --> 00:19:20.000
Acts 3, 9.

00:19:20.000 --> 00:19:23.000
You know the story.

00:19:23.000 --> 00:19:25.000
Silver or gold do I have none, verse 6.

00:19:25.000 --> 00:19:27.000
But what I have I give you.

00:19:27.000 --> 00:19:29.000
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth walk.

00:19:29.000 --> 00:19:33.000
Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.

00:19:33.000 --> 00:19:35.000
He jumped to his feet and began to walk.

00:19:35.000 --> 00:19:40.000
Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping and praising God.

00:19:40.000 --> 00:19:47.000
When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful.

00:19:47.000 --> 00:19:51.000
And they were all filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to them.

00:19:51.000 --> 00:19:56.000
And then Peter begins to speak and then go to chapter 4, verse 4.

00:19:56.000 --> 00:20:07.000
But many who heard the message believed and the number of men grew to about 5,000, which is a direct result of the healing that happened.

00:20:07.000 --> 00:20:12.000
Guys, many times healing leads people to repent and turn to Christ.

00:20:12.000 --> 00:20:18.000
I remember once going with Elmer and Anne to this man's house here in Richmond who was not a Christian.

00:20:18.000 --> 00:20:19.000
He was a Hindu.

00:20:19.000 --> 00:20:26.000
And what was happening is his mom had died and she would appear out of nowhere in the middle of the road or in his room.

00:20:26.000 --> 00:20:32.000
And just the whole family was being demonized.

00:20:32.000 --> 00:20:35.000
But once we prayed, that whole incident stopped.

00:20:35.000 --> 00:20:41.000
But now they were open to hearing the rest of the gospel.

00:20:41.000 --> 00:20:44.000
And so we sat there and told them about who Christ was.

00:20:45.000 --> 00:20:51.000
Another instance was in Indonesia, this guy called Nolde, N-O-L-D-Y.

00:20:51.000 --> 00:20:53.000
I've shown this picture a year long ago.

00:20:53.000 --> 00:21:00.000
He sat and watched healings taking place, the prophetic happening, people's legs getting healed and growing and stuff like that.

00:21:00.000 --> 00:21:04.000
And so he comes at the end of the meeting and says, I want Jesus.

00:21:04.000 --> 00:21:05.000
So I said, why?

00:21:05.000 --> 00:21:07.000
He says, I don't know, but I need him.

00:21:07.000 --> 00:21:21.000
And so he had just been released from a mental asylum because he comes from a family of deep witchcraft.

00:21:21.000 --> 00:21:29.000
And what he had done was he had killed his friend who was sleeping next to him because a demon had caused him to do that.

00:21:29.000 --> 00:21:33.000
And he had killed his friend and they had put him in an asylum.

00:21:33.000 --> 00:21:42.000
And he had gone through these rites where you, the final rite of passage is slaughtering a cobra and drinking its blood.

00:21:42.000 --> 00:21:47.000
And he was impervious to the stabs of a knife.

00:21:47.000 --> 00:21:50.000
You could stab him and it wouldn't hurt him.

00:21:50.000 --> 00:21:57.000
His skin was so thick that you could take a knife and stab him and it wouldn't go in.

00:21:58.000 --> 00:22:04.000
And so he showed me what he wore around his waist and on his arms, amulets, charms and stuff like that.

00:22:04.000 --> 00:22:06.000
And he wants Jesus.

00:22:06.000 --> 00:22:08.000
And so I said, sure.

00:22:08.000 --> 00:22:10.000
And I told him about Jesus.

00:22:10.000 --> 00:22:11.000
He received Jesus.

00:22:11.000 --> 00:22:17.000
But now I took him to Acts 19 and I said, this is what happened when people in Ephesus heard about Jesus Christ and received him.

00:22:17.000 --> 00:22:19.000
They took all their amulets and stuff like that.

00:22:20.000 --> 00:22:30.000
So that evening he comes to this person's house and he brings all his charms and amulets and this red rope that he had that was given to him was of tremendous value.

00:22:30.000 --> 00:22:32.000
That's what has kept him safe.

00:22:32.000 --> 00:22:33.000
That's his protection.

00:22:33.000 --> 00:22:36.000
He cannot be killed with a knife.

00:22:36.000 --> 00:22:42.000
And he takes that off and he throws it into the fire and one by one the charms and amulets and everything.

00:22:42.000 --> 00:22:50.000
And I thought for a guy to change in half a day and give away his protection, all that he trusted in was remarkable.

00:22:50.000 --> 00:22:55.000
And after we threw it and had a bonfire, we went to the closest bathtub and baptized him.

00:22:55.000 --> 00:23:02.000
And so the picture I have, which I've shown you, is him holding a Bible that someone gave him and standing there after his baptism.

00:23:02.000 --> 00:23:04.000
But what triggered the whole thing?

00:23:04.000 --> 00:23:06.000
What triggered it?

00:23:06.000 --> 00:23:10.000
He was sitting there and I didn't even know he had just been released from an asylum.

00:23:10.000 --> 00:23:15.000
And he's sitting there watching as people are getting healed and things are being prophesied.

00:23:15.000 --> 00:23:22.000
So healing leads people to repent or leads people to turn to God.

00:23:22.000 --> 00:23:24.000
Healing does that.

00:23:24.000 --> 00:23:29.000
Do you see how many good reasons God has to heal?

00:23:29.000 --> 00:23:36.000
Another thing that I really like about healing is it illustrates

00:23:36.000 --> 00:23:41.000
it illustrates the kingdom.

00:23:41.000 --> 00:23:43.000
It illustrates the kingdom.

00:23:43.000 --> 00:23:45.000
He sang about it today.

00:23:45.000 --> 00:23:48.000
It illustrates the kingdom of God.

00:23:48.000 --> 00:23:53.000
Luke 10.

00:23:53.000 --> 00:24:02.000
Luke 10.

00:24:02.000 --> 00:24:09.000
Verse 9.

00:24:09.000 --> 00:24:13.000
When you enter a town and are welcomed, eat what is said before you.

00:24:13.000 --> 00:24:19.000
Heal the sick who are there and tell them the kingdom of God is near.

00:24:19.000 --> 00:24:29.000
Luke 11.20.

00:24:29.000 --> 00:24:34.000
But if I drive away demons or if I drive out demons by the finger of God,

00:24:34.000 --> 00:24:38.000
then the kingdom of God has come to you.

00:24:38.000 --> 00:24:44.000
Guys, we belong to an invisible kingdom,

00:24:44.000 --> 00:24:49.000
but this invisible kingdom is made visible through the work of the Spirit

00:24:49.000 --> 00:24:54.000
in the midst of the citizens of that kingdom and through them.

00:24:54.000 --> 00:24:56.000
That's how you know that a kingdom exists.

00:24:56.000 --> 00:24:58.000
Otherwise, what kind of kingdom is this?

00:24:58.000 --> 00:24:59.000
Is it invisible?

00:24:59.000 --> 00:25:00.000
Where is it?

00:25:00.000 --> 00:25:02.000
Oh, you can't see it.

00:25:02.000 --> 00:25:05.000
What kind of kingdom is that?

00:25:05.000 --> 00:25:09.000
The king and this kingdom make themselves visible here on earth,

00:25:09.000 --> 00:25:15.000
both by working in and through the citizens of the kingdom.

00:25:15.000 --> 00:25:21.000
One of the reasons God likes healing is to make visible the kingdom of God here on earth.

00:25:21.000 --> 00:25:30.000
Not a kingdom that is to come, but a kingdom that has come.

00:25:30.000 --> 00:25:33.000
We won't need healing in heaven.

00:25:33.000 --> 00:25:44.000
Get all of it now.

00:25:44.000 --> 00:25:48.000
Healing gives notice of another kingdom that is already here.

00:25:48.000 --> 00:25:54.000
Healing gives notice of another kingdom that is already here.

00:25:54.000 --> 00:25:55.000
Yeah.

00:25:55.000 --> 00:25:58.000
Healing gives notice of another kingdom that is already here.

00:25:58.000 --> 00:26:00.000
It was established by Christ.

00:26:00.000 --> 00:26:08.000
Hey, what he establishes stays, by the way.

00:26:08.000 --> 00:26:13.000
Healing gives notice of another kingdom that is already here.

00:26:13.000 --> 00:26:18.000
It was established by Christ and is made visible through the work of the Spirit of God.

00:26:18.000 --> 00:26:20.000
How is it made visible?

00:26:20.000 --> 00:26:22.000
It's made visible in us.

00:26:22.000 --> 00:26:26.000
It's made visible through us.

00:26:26.000 --> 00:26:33.000
Crazy, man.

00:26:33.000 --> 00:26:37.000
The next thing.

00:26:37.000 --> 00:26:38.000
Why does God heal?

00:26:38.000 --> 00:26:39.000
Why does God heal?

00:26:39.000 --> 00:26:44.000
He notifies.

00:26:44.000 --> 00:26:56.000
It is to notify the dethronement of the devil.

00:26:56.000 --> 00:26:58.000
It notifies or to...

00:26:58.000 --> 00:26:59.000
Why does he heal?

00:26:59.000 --> 00:27:05.000
To notify the dethronement of principalities, dethronement of the devil,

00:27:05.000 --> 00:27:08.000
dethronement of the enemy.

00:27:08.000 --> 00:27:11.000
The dethronement of principalities.

00:27:11.000 --> 00:27:16.000
That is one of the reasons he heals, the dethronement of principalities.

00:27:16.000 --> 00:27:19.000
Aren't these so cool?

00:27:19.000 --> 00:27:21.000
Mer Æ store is full of 2016.

00:27:21.000 --> 00:27:26.000
Colossians 2 6 says that this is what Christ said.

00:27:26.000 --> 00:27:33.000
He has made a public spectacle of Satan.

00:27:33.000 --> 00:27:38.220
having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them,

00:27:38.220 --> 00:27:45.940
triumphing over them on the cross. He disarmed the principalities and

00:27:45.940 --> 00:27:51.580
powers and thrones and he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them

00:27:51.580 --> 00:27:57.020
by the cross. So what does it paint? I know we've talked about this before.

00:27:57.020 --> 00:28:02.260
Imagine a king coming back after victory, after having decimated the opposition and

00:28:02.260 --> 00:28:06.580
taken the city captive and so the king is on his throne and behind him would be

00:28:06.580 --> 00:28:11.260
another chariot. Unfortunately that chariot would be empty because the guy

00:28:11.260 --> 00:28:15.080
who used to ride that chariot is now tied to it and is walking as a slave

00:28:15.080 --> 00:28:20.240
behind it, literally naked, manacled, paraded through the streets as a trophy

00:28:20.240 --> 00:28:28.300
of war. Humble. And one of the things that happens on the cross, sorry,

00:28:28.460 --> 00:28:33.180
humiliated, not humble. One of the things that happens on the cross is Christ has

00:28:33.180 --> 00:28:39.340
made a public spectacle of the enemy, of the devil, of powers and authorities and

00:28:39.340 --> 00:28:44.860
he made them, made a public spectacle of them after having disarmed them. Now

00:28:44.860 --> 00:28:50.300
they're marching behind the chariot, paraded through the streets as prisoners.

00:28:50.300 --> 00:28:55.180
So one of the reasons healing takes place is to notify or announce the

00:28:55.740 --> 00:29:03.660
dethronement of principalities. See the prince of the power of the air,

00:29:03.660 --> 00:29:11.060
Ephesians 2 2, uses sickness as a weapon against man. The prince of the power of

00:29:11.060 --> 00:29:18.460
the air or the devil or Satan uses sickness as a weapon against man. He did

00:29:18.460 --> 00:29:25.100
not create sickness. Sickness is the outcome of sin. He takes that and uses it

00:29:25.100 --> 00:29:37.020
now as a weapon against us. Yet very clearly in 1st John 3 8 B it says that

00:29:37.020 --> 00:29:41.660
Jesus Christ was made manifest or Jesus Christ the Son of God came down in the

00:29:41.660 --> 00:29:53.260
flesh to do what? To destroy the works of the devil. Very clearly says that. One of

00:29:53.260 --> 00:29:58.820
the reasons healing takes place is to notify that listen you authorities and

00:29:58.820 --> 00:30:05.180
powers, you devil, you've been dethroned and therefore your works have been

00:30:05.180 --> 00:30:10.140
destroyed by the manifesting of Jesus Christ in flesh and now through his body.

00:30:10.140 --> 00:30:18.340
His dethronement did not end when Jesus ascended. Remember we don't talk enough

00:30:18.340 --> 00:30:25.380
about the ascension but what we need to realize is if there was no ascension, if

00:30:25.380 --> 00:30:30.220
there was only death and resurrection and there was no ascension, there is no

00:30:30.220 --> 00:30:33.260
being seated in the heavenly places above all principalities, powers and

00:30:33.260 --> 00:30:44.900
authorities. Ascension is what now gives us the kind of clout that we have. One of

00:30:45.300 --> 00:30:53.860
the reasons, one of the things we need to understand. John 10 10 the thief comes

00:30:53.860 --> 00:31:02.820
to steal, kill and destroy but now the principalities have been put on

00:31:02.820 --> 00:31:08.700
notification that listen you've been dethroned because a rightful possessor.

00:31:08.740 --> 00:31:16.660
The true king, the great king, the awesome life-giver has come now and he's

00:31:16.660 --> 00:31:24.540
driven out the masquerader and he's made a prisoner of the thief and so now the

00:31:24.540 --> 00:31:29.500
body is being asked to drive out the masquerader and the thief will come to

00:31:29.500 --> 00:31:33.900
steal, kill and destroy. Go home and meditate on this. You'll suddenly feel

00:31:33.900 --> 00:31:40.380
that oh shucks I got a mandate here. Why does God like healing? Why should I go

00:31:40.380 --> 00:31:49.100
about healing? There's a mandate here for us because we have to be like our king

00:31:49.100 --> 00:31:51.340
right?

00:31:51.340 --> 00:32:01.340
Another reason for healing, very simple, it glorifies God, glorifies God.

00:32:08.340 --> 00:32:16.820
John 11 4 with regard to Lazarus, what did Jesus say in John 11 4? He said,

00:32:16.820 --> 00:32:23.260
the sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God, that the Son of God

00:32:23.260 --> 00:32:28.340
may be glorified through it. It is so sad that people take that verse and talk

00:32:28.340 --> 00:32:35.220
about that's a reason for sickness. He wasn't saying that, he was saying that

00:32:35.220 --> 00:32:40.700
listen I will be glorified through this, not I will be glorified because this

00:32:40.700 --> 00:32:44.740
person is sick or because this person is dead but I'll be glorified because I'm

00:32:44.740 --> 00:32:48.820
going to heal this person and raise them from the dead. How many times I've

00:32:48.820 --> 00:32:52.660
heard this argument but Jesus said the sickness is not unto death but for my

00:32:52.660 --> 00:32:57.620
glory so then perhaps and they'll never say this sickness that I have is surely

00:32:57.620 --> 00:33:01.220
because what God wants to glorify it themselves. They'll always say perhaps

00:33:01.220 --> 00:33:07.580
this is for God's glory. Puts you in a really bad situation because the moment

00:33:07.580 --> 00:33:12.580
you use the word perhaps you're done man because then there's also the

00:33:12.580 --> 00:33:19.580
other statement perhaps this is not for God's glory. The glory is in the healing

00:33:19.580 --> 00:33:27.860
not in the sickness. Remember where the source of sickness is. Does it have

00:33:27.860 --> 00:33:34.000
anything to do with your father? Did Jesus ever caress sickness? No, he rebuked it.

00:33:34.000 --> 00:33:38.020
It never said and then Jesus went up to Peter's mother-in-law and saw her with a

00:33:38.020 --> 00:33:43.220
fever and he caressed the fever and said do you mind leaving today? No, he

00:33:43.220 --> 00:33:47.220
rebuked the fever.

00:33:51.380 --> 00:34:01.580
Luke 5 24 to 26. Luke 5 24 to 26 and he goes and says to this man who's

00:34:01.580 --> 00:34:05.820
been paralyzed he says to him I say to you arise take up your bed and go to

00:34:05.940 --> 00:34:09.900
your house immediately he rose up before them and the Bible says they were all

00:34:09.900 --> 00:34:14.340
amazed and they glorified God and were filled with fear saying we have seen

00:34:14.340 --> 00:34:20.140
strange things today. We have seen strange things. I love people to say that

00:34:20.140 --> 00:34:26.220
eh? Oh man those guys came here and we saw some really strange things. Like what?

00:34:26.220 --> 00:34:31.580
Like a man who's paralyzed walking. Is it possible? Absolutely. Can we see this

00:34:31.660 --> 00:34:36.780
here? Absolutely. Is this a statement of bravado? No. Is it a statement of faith?

00:34:36.780 --> 00:34:41.660
Not really. So what is it a statement of? Just things that happen because God

00:34:41.660 --> 00:34:44.180
likes healing.

00:34:44.180 --> 00:35:02.900
It's all there to those who choose to believe healing can be a thing of glory.

00:35:02.900 --> 00:35:07.300
To those who choose to ignore or not believe it can be a source of awe and

00:35:07.300 --> 00:35:12.460
dread of fear. In Acts 2 it says that the disciples went around and they

00:35:12.460 --> 00:35:16.020
started healing. Healings began to happen. Signs and wonders happened and

00:35:16.020 --> 00:35:22.660
the whole city was in fear because they didn't know how to handle it. You can

00:35:22.660 --> 00:35:28.020
have either fear or you can have the ability to praise God for it but that's

00:35:28.020 --> 00:35:34.020
another thing. Jacob I love one of the names I love that Jacob gave God. This is

00:35:34.020 --> 00:35:40.020
such a strange thing. His name one of the names of God that Jacob gave him was the

00:35:40.060 --> 00:35:48.060
dread of Jacob. What a name man. God is called the dread of Jacob. As in when

00:35:48.060 --> 00:35:53.620
Jacob and his son started walking from Shechem it caused dread because they

00:35:53.620 --> 00:35:59.300
knew God was with Jacob and so they were scared. The dread of Jacob. I think I've

00:35:59.300 --> 00:36:03.620
told you this of how Graham Cook was trying to get a piece of land in

00:36:03.820 --> 00:36:11.140
wherever he was in England and the city officials kept saying no no no so he

00:36:11.140 --> 00:36:15.980
went through all the hoops they made him jump through went overboard in terms of

00:36:15.980 --> 00:36:19.820
supplying them all they need everything was done legally and there were these

00:36:19.820 --> 00:36:23.940
people in City Hall who did not want the church to establish something in the

00:36:23.940 --> 00:36:27.940
city so they kept resisting him. Finally after the third or fourth or fifth

00:36:27.940 --> 00:36:31.140
meeting he's sitting with them and he's given them everything and they still

00:36:31.140 --> 00:36:36.660
refused and so they turned to him and they said no can't do it and then Graham

00:36:36.660 --> 00:36:41.100
Cook says to them we've presented you everything it hasn't worked so here's

00:36:41.100 --> 00:36:47.460
what I want to say to you if you do not pass this legitimate request every

00:36:47.460 --> 00:36:53.660
scandal every embezzlement every adulterous relationship around this table

00:36:53.660 --> 00:37:07.300
my God will expose. He got his license man. He got his license they gave him his

00:37:07.300 --> 00:37:14.740
license obviously there were some things that should not have been there. Don't

00:37:14.740 --> 00:37:19.860
use that this week it's just a story. Go to a shopkeeper and say I want that that

00:37:19.860 --> 00:37:25.900
and that and I wanted a 30% discount. No? Okay here's what's gonna happen. Don't do that.

00:37:25.900 --> 00:37:38.860
James can I have another cup please? With coffee in it. Last one is no not the last

00:37:38.860 --> 00:37:44.940
one. Why does God heal? He heals because it's sometimes just a sovereign exercise

00:37:44.940 --> 00:37:51.380
of his power. He just feels because I'm God I can do what I want. Thanks man. I'm

00:37:51.380 --> 00:37:55.140
God I can do what I want. Sovereign exercise of his power. You see that in

00:37:55.140 --> 00:38:02.940
John 5 5 there's a man at a pool called Bethesda and he's been there for how

00:38:02.940 --> 00:38:09.220
many years? 38 years. Other people are lying there too but he goes up to this

00:38:09.220 --> 00:38:14.900
one man and he says do you need help? No he gives him a long story. He says here's

00:38:14.900 --> 00:38:19.220
the whole thing. Then he says do you want to be healed? And then he heals him. One

00:38:19.220 --> 00:38:26.540
man out of the many lying around the pool. Just chose to do it. Worse! You think

00:38:26.540 --> 00:38:31.700
that is bad in terms of sovereign power? Look at what he does. He's in the Garden

00:38:31.700 --> 00:38:36.660
of Gethsemane. That's John 4 and the next one is in Luke 22. Garden of Gethsemane.

00:38:36.660 --> 00:38:41.420
They've come to imprison him, take him to crucify him. Peter pulls out a sword and

00:38:41.420 --> 00:38:45.380
cuts off this guy called Malchus. Cuts off his ear and in the middle of being

00:38:45.380 --> 00:38:49.580
taken to prison and dragged and beaten Jesus says no no no enough of this and

00:38:49.580 --> 00:38:57.340
he goes and heals the man. Yeah so that he can carry on hearing. I mean I would

00:38:57.340 --> 00:39:01.060
write love to write a story about the man whose ear was restored. I'll write a

00:39:01.060 --> 00:39:06.100
song about this man whose ear was restored when he went to him to capture

00:39:06.100 --> 00:39:16.540
Jesus. I must have blown his socks away. No Roman soldiers didn't wear socks. But the point

00:39:16.540 --> 00:39:23.420
being guys sometimes God chooses to heal just because he has sovereign power.

00:39:23.420 --> 00:39:32.780
It's I'm God. I am God. Do what I want. Oh by the way I like healing so I'll do it.

00:39:32.780 --> 00:39:40.020
I don't care that you came to imprison me and tried manhandling one of my

00:39:40.020 --> 00:39:45.060
favorite guys Peter. Yeah so there are 60 of you and I'm going to heal one. You

00:39:45.060 --> 00:39:48.500
want to argue about it and make theology out of it. Go ahead but I'm God I'll do

00:39:48.500 --> 00:39:50.860
what I want.

00:39:52.340 --> 00:39:58.100
Nitpicking man. How we nitpick what Jesus does to create theology out of it.

00:39:58.100 --> 00:40:05.940
That slams his character. Boggles my mind. Look into the Bible to find things to

00:40:05.940 --> 00:40:09.780
cast suspicion on the character of God.

00:40:12.180 --> 00:40:15.180
Ridiculous.

00:40:17.900 --> 00:40:22.940
If only theologians first understood the nature of God and then went into

00:40:22.940 --> 00:40:31.900
theology like Jason. This is when you say either clap or say something.

00:40:33.220 --> 00:40:40.420
Otherwise you form theology that does not correspond to the nature of God.

00:40:42.660 --> 00:40:51.020
Yeah God allowing sickness. Hey man you're looking for your family they're

00:40:51.020 --> 00:40:58.660
here good. Make him feel uncomfortable.

00:40:58.660 --> 00:41:01.660
Good to see you.

00:41:03.580 --> 00:41:08.980
Guys and lastly if all these reasons were not sufficient here's the last one.

00:41:08.980 --> 00:41:16.060
He heals because it's his nature. He heals because it's his nature. From Exodus

00:41:16.060 --> 00:41:21.420
15 26 where he says I will take away disease from from in your midst to

00:41:21.420 --> 00:41:26.900
Exodus 23 25 where he says I'll not put any diseases on you. I find those two so

00:41:26.900 --> 00:41:36.500
so tasty. On one hand he says Exodus 15 15 he says oh I won't put any diseases

00:41:36.500 --> 00:41:42.860
on you and Exodus 23 he says I'll take away diseases from you so he don't put

00:41:42.860 --> 00:41:51.500
anything on you and he takes away. So where's the allow in this? I won't put

00:41:51.500 --> 00:41:56.740
anything on you and I'll take it away from you. Where's the allow in this?

00:42:00.940 --> 00:42:10.420
God gives us authority and the word to combat what we need. Okay he does not

00:42:10.460 --> 00:42:22.820
allow he cannot allow anything that does not come from him. Cannot. The enemy does

00:42:22.820 --> 00:42:33.660
and I have the ability to stop it. We think God is the one who has ultimate

00:42:33.660 --> 00:42:39.740
say in the affairs of man but that would take away man's sovereignty. There is no

00:42:39.740 --> 00:42:44.860
ultimate say with my life. I mean if God had the ultimate say in my life I would

00:42:44.860 --> 00:42:50.940
be saved without God's intervention. God does not have ultimate say in my life in

00:42:50.940 --> 00:42:56.220
that sense. When it comes to free will it's fascinating how much say I have.

00:42:56.220 --> 00:43:01.820
When it comes to retraining my mind it's fascinating how much say I have. It does

00:43:01.820 --> 00:43:06.620
not matter how many times you teach me it's up to me to learn. I can go to

00:43:06.620 --> 00:43:13.540
multiple seminars but it's up to me whether I want to learn or not. God

00:43:13.540 --> 00:43:17.740
placed man here. Go back to Genesis guys. Guys please understand I'm not

00:43:17.740 --> 00:43:22.260
responding to what Diana is saying. My sister actually wrote to me saying don't

00:43:22.260 --> 00:43:26.180
stop people from asking questions because these are the questions people

00:43:26.180 --> 00:43:34.260
are hearing. This is not to encourage Diana but but but but so I'm not

00:43:34.260 --> 00:43:37.780
responding to her as such. I'm just going down that track. Please understand

00:43:37.780 --> 00:43:44.020
that in Genesis everything was given to man to steward and if God had his

00:43:44.020 --> 00:43:48.700
ultimate say it would have stayed so. If God had his ultimate say there would be

00:43:48.700 --> 00:43:55.580
no need for Christ to die on the cross. If God had his ultimate say things would

00:43:55.580 --> 00:44:01.620
have been very different. God has his ultimate say when I yield my will to him.

00:44:01.780 --> 00:44:06.380
Yes God is the God of history. He knows the rise of Kings and the fall of Kings,

00:44:06.380 --> 00:44:10.740
the rise of kingdoms and the fall of kingdoms but God did not have the

00:44:10.740 --> 00:44:16.860
ultimate say in deciding that Pharaoh your heart is going to be hard. Does the

00:44:16.860 --> 00:44:21.060
Bible say so? Yes but read it the way the Hebrew writers wrote it. It was not that

00:44:21.060 --> 00:44:25.860
God said okay you will be hard you will be soft you will be hard. No. He knows he

00:44:25.860 --> 00:44:34.540
knows ahead of time. In his foreknowledge he says things. This is why it is so

00:44:34.540 --> 00:44:38.700
important to take on the authority that we've been given to use the word to

00:44:38.700 --> 00:44:45.020
combat what we need to combat and to yield and forge our will so that even

00:44:45.020 --> 00:44:50.180
at Gethsemane you have the audacity to say not your will but mine be done.

00:44:50.500 --> 00:44:58.700
Jesus had ultimate say there not God. So when it comes to sickness know that all

00:44:58.700 --> 00:45:07.860
good gifts come from the Father in whom there is no shadow of turning. So all

00:45:07.860 --> 00:45:12.380
good gifts come from him. Therefore anything in which there is a shadow of

00:45:12.380 --> 00:45:19.460
turning or anything that is not light, anything that he cannot say as he said

00:45:19.460 --> 00:45:26.580
in Genesis it is good. Anything does not have its source in him and if it does

00:45:26.580 --> 00:45:32.220
not have its source in him it has to be rebuked. Do you think God allowed waves

00:45:32.220 --> 00:45:43.260
to come while Jesus was in the boat sleeping? No. Out of the mouth of babes.

00:45:43.260 --> 00:45:49.380
No because if it was God who allowed those waves Jesus would not have rebuked

00:45:49.380 --> 00:45:57.260
what came from that which is allowed by his father. He rebukes it because he

00:45:57.260 --> 00:46:09.620
knows the source. So judge things by the nature of your father. Does this guys

00:46:09.620 --> 00:46:14.140
there will be things that come into my life because of sin. There will be things

00:46:14.140 --> 00:46:19.740
that come into my life because of the fallenness of the world. There will be

00:46:19.740 --> 00:46:24.180
things that come into my life as a result of the seeds I have sown and the

00:46:24.180 --> 00:46:29.140
crop I am reaping. There will be things that will come into my life because of

00:46:29.140 --> 00:46:36.340
the attack of the enemy as in Job. There will be things that come into my life

00:46:36.340 --> 00:46:43.000
because I am connected to you and what you do affects me. Out of the

00:46:43.000 --> 00:46:49.600
relationship that we have with each other and then there will be things that

00:46:49.600 --> 00:46:53.680
are waiting to come into my life because God in whom there is no shadow of

00:46:53.680 --> 00:46:57.960
turning and who lives in marvelous glorious light has things that he wants

00:46:57.960 --> 00:47:05.800
to bring. And as we erect the filters of the Word of God and as we begin to walk

00:47:05.800 --> 00:47:11.680
in the light as he is in the light be ready to be persecuted for his namesake

00:47:11.680 --> 00:47:16.680
be ready to partake in the sufferings of Christ as in the things he suffered for

00:47:16.680 --> 00:47:21.240
except that which he paid for in terms of atonement be ready to suffer that. But

00:47:21.240 --> 00:47:31.320
everything else sieve, filter, check. We need a breathe that will live like this

00:47:31.320 --> 00:47:38.080
on earth to show the values of a kingdom that are very different from the values

00:47:38.080 --> 00:47:42.480
of the kingdom here on earth but to show a kingdom that will be persecuted and

00:47:42.480 --> 00:47:47.240
sufferings of Christ that we will make up as ones going up to bat after the

00:47:47.240 --> 00:47:55.520
innings is won. Colossians 2 or thereabouts as I will complete the

00:47:55.520 --> 00:47:59.440
sufferings of Christ not as one who needs to complete it so that anything

00:47:59.440 --> 00:48:06.720
has to be gained but as one who is going up to bat after the innings has been won.

00:48:06.880 --> 00:48:11.360
Partaking in what he partook in because I'm also partaking in his resurrection

00:48:11.360 --> 00:48:16.120
not for any atonement need not to be striped for anybody's healing not to

00:48:16.120 --> 00:48:21.480
die for anybody's life but taking my cross in the sense of denying myself

00:48:21.480 --> 00:48:26.280
and being at times persecuted denying myself and facing your ridicules scoff

00:48:26.280 --> 00:48:33.240
scoffing mocking and scorning. Yes these I will suffer or these I may suffer

00:48:33.400 --> 00:48:37.320
there are many who have passed out of his life without even suffering that so

00:48:37.320 --> 00:48:44.400
I'm not saying bring it on but these will happen if it happened to me the

00:48:44.400 --> 00:48:50.080
master if they call me Beelzebub know that they will call you too

00:48:50.080 --> 00:49:06.280
but otherwise otherwise besides death which unfortunately is the last enemy

00:49:06.280 --> 00:49:16.680
and which at times needs to be rebuked I remember flying twice it happened and

00:49:16.720 --> 00:49:21.880
in the in the aircraft five hours into the thing losing conscience and knowing

00:49:21.880 --> 00:49:26.880
I'm running out of breath and all I can do is speak in tongues and rebuke death

00:49:26.880 --> 00:49:36.040
because death is an enemy it's not some welcome portal into heaven but it will

00:49:36.040 --> 00:49:46.000
come to you because of the fallen is that I was born in my body is going to

00:49:46.000 --> 00:49:54.960
decay and die. Yvonne is watching Eddie praying for a woman who came from a

00:49:54.960 --> 00:50:01.520
background of witches and he's praying for her and then he knew something was

00:50:01.520 --> 00:50:04.960
wrong but he wasn't alert and he goes on to pray for the next person and as he's

00:50:04.960 --> 00:50:09.520
praying for the oh it's time as he's praying for the next person he feels

00:50:09.520 --> 00:50:14.200
weak and he falls flat and there's no pulse and he's lying there they call for

00:50:14.200 --> 00:50:18.360
the ambulance because he's literally lying there with a very very weak pulse

00:50:18.360 --> 00:50:22.240
and guess what he wanted it was a birthday day before yesterday he goes

00:50:22.240 --> 00:50:28.360
stands she goes stands over and starts rebuking the spirit of death comes back

00:50:28.360 --> 00:50:35.480
to life before the ambulance comes that is an enemy that has to be conquered and

00:50:35.480 --> 00:50:42.760
there will be a generation that will conquer that as in they will not die

00:50:44.240 --> 00:50:48.160
I'm not saying you understand what I mean by that clarify it with me later if

00:50:48.160 --> 00:50:52.480
you don't but other than that guys

00:50:58.000 --> 00:51:04.000
yeah that I'd probably have to read up some more on it I have a few ideas but

00:51:04.000 --> 00:51:13.240
it'd be a separate sermon as in how Enoch and Elijah did so thank you for

00:51:13.280 --> 00:51:18.040
asking the question because all what I said is super important and super true

00:51:18.040 --> 00:51:22.440
super relevant embrace it

00:51:25.800 --> 00:51:28.800
there will be no

00:51:28.800 --> 00:51:46.720
yeah be blessed guys we live in a so let me conclude with the nature of God

00:51:46.720 --> 00:51:53.320
this is how he is it's a benefit of his death his nature has been released to us

00:51:53.320 --> 00:51:59.040
by Jesus we already said his nature is I don't put I won't I will take away and

00:51:59.040 --> 00:52:02.560
I will not put so that's where we stopped and we said so there's no room

00:52:02.560 --> 00:52:11.040
for allow that's where we went down this not rabbit trail important trade and so

00:52:11.040 --> 00:52:15.240
and then Jesus Christ comes along and the very nature of Christ the very

00:52:15.240 --> 00:52:19.160
nature of Yahweh he releases to us as a benefit of the cross so that now it

00:52:19.160 --> 00:52:22.480
becomes something everybody can appropriate by the stripes laid on his

00:52:22.480 --> 00:52:27.520
back it now becomes available to us there was a there was a pool in

00:52:27.520 --> 00:52:35.920
Jerusalem Bethesda you know how Bethesda happened Hezekiah went dug through caves

00:52:35.920 --> 00:52:42.840
and rock to go to a stream called Gihon and then brought the water from Gihon

00:52:42.840 --> 00:52:50.440
into Bethesda in a sense that's what Jesus has done here is God who says that

00:52:50.520 --> 00:52:54.960
I will not put and I will take away and Jesus comes and drills a hole through a

00:52:54.960 --> 00:52:59.000
rock by the stripes on his back so that the waters of Gihon or the waters of

00:52:59.000 --> 00:53:03.680
healing can now be brought to the pool of Bethesda which is us it can be

00:53:03.680 --> 00:53:07.960
appropriated now people can step into it it's no longer far away it's no longer

00:53:07.960 --> 00:53:13.280
Yahweh at a distance whose nature is Rafa or healing it is now in us in our

00:53:13.280 --> 00:53:19.720
midst the healer has come and by his stripes we are healed that's how we need

00:53:19.720 --> 00:53:25.960
to look at it and the other thing is guys Jesus always said I will not do

00:53:25.960 --> 00:53:29.400
anything till I see my father doing it do you know how many times Jesus went

00:53:29.400 --> 00:53:33.840
around healing I think he every time he would look up he'd see his father doing

00:53:33.840 --> 00:53:38.600
it and so he would come and heal Jesus liked doing what he saw his father doing

00:53:38.600 --> 00:53:42.800
and his father was so into healing that it was natural for Jesus to keep healing

00:53:42.800 --> 00:53:49.640
here on earth think of that for a second every time he healed he had to see what

00:53:49.640 --> 00:53:54.360
his father was doing this is what the father likes doing and it's what Jesus

00:53:54.360 --> 00:54:01.400
saw and it's what you and I should see too so what was Jesus's heart with regard

00:54:01.400 --> 00:54:06.880
to healing a leper came to him and said master if you want you can heal my body

00:54:06.880 --> 00:54:13.180
what was Jesus's reply I want to be clean then a Roman centurion came and he

00:54:13.180 --> 00:54:17.040
said master my servant is sick he can't walk he's in terrible pain what did

00:54:17.040 --> 00:54:23.200
Jesus said I'll come and heal him Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from

00:54:23.200 --> 00:54:28.040
fever she was in the grip of a burning fever what did Jesus do went and rebuked

00:54:28.040 --> 00:54:32.760
the fever and the fever left her all those who were sick came with various

00:54:32.760 --> 00:54:36.680
diseases what did Jesus do laid his hands on every one of the men cured

00:54:36.680 --> 00:54:40.740
them those under the power of demons what would Jesus do throw out the

00:54:40.740 --> 00:54:46.520
spirits with a word I would not permit them to speak go forth and do likewise

00:54:46.520 --> 00:54:52.480
bless you guys can you guys send me off
