read from the book of Daniel, chapter 2, 31 to 35. 00:02:39.760 --> 00:02:44.760 Book of Daniel, chapter 2, 31 to 35. 00:02:44.760 --> 00:02:59.440 It says, You saw, O King, and behold, a great image. 00:02:59.440 --> 00:03:07.080 This image, mighty and of exceeding brightness, stood before you, and its appearance was frightening. 00:03:07.080 --> 00:03:14.080 The head of this image was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its middle and thighs 00:03:14.080 --> 00:03:21.360 of bronze, its legs of iron, its feet partly of iron and partly of clay. 00:03:21.360 --> 00:03:27.920 As he looked, a stone was cut out by no human hand, and it struck the image on its feet 00:03:27.920 --> 00:03:33.240 of iron and clay and broke them in pieces. 00:03:33.240 --> 00:03:38.640 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold, all together were broken in 00:03:38.640 --> 00:03:44.640 pieces, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing floors, and the wind carried 00:03:44.640 --> 00:03:49.400 them away, so that not a trace of them could be found. 00:03:49.400 --> 00:03:54.840 But the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole and he wanted someone to actually tell him 00:04:08.240 --> 00:04:11.360 what's the dream that he saw, and then he wanted that person to interpret it. 00:04:11.360 --> 00:04:17.440 Daniel interpreted the dream, and Daniel is saying, hey Nebuchadnezzar, here are the things 00:04:17.440 --> 00:04:19.560 that you saw in your dream. 00:04:19.560 --> 00:04:21.000 Here is what happened. 00:04:21.000 --> 00:04:27.080 And then you see Daniel interpreting that dream to Nebuchadnezzar. 00:04:27.080 --> 00:04:33.440 In this dream, Nebuchadnezzar saw a big mighty image, not a small one, a big mighty frightening 00:04:33.440 --> 00:04:44.920 image, and it's got a head made of fine gold, the chest and the arms are made of silver, 00:04:44.920 --> 00:04:52.200 the thighs and the middle is made of bronze, the legs are made of iron, and then the feet 00:04:52.200 --> 00:04:54.760 is made of iron and clay. 00:04:54.760 --> 00:05:01.400 So think about it, it's a very frightening image that Nebuchadnezzar saw, and he wanted 00:05:01.480 --> 00:05:03.000 an answer to that. 00:05:03.000 --> 00:05:08.400 And Daniel responds and says, here is what you saw, I know what my God has shown me, 00:05:08.400 --> 00:05:10.160 here is exactly what you saw. 00:05:10.160 --> 00:05:12.760 Now I'm going to give you a meaning of that dream. 00:05:12.760 --> 00:05:20.080 The meaning of the dream is, this kingdom that you have, Nebuchadnezzar, is the head 00:05:20.080 --> 00:05:24.760 with the fine gold, and there are going to be coming many kingdoms after you. 00:05:24.760 --> 00:05:27.680 But then there is this stone that you saw. 00:05:27.760 --> 00:05:31.360 It says it's not carved out by human hands. 00:05:31.360 --> 00:05:39.360 And this stone out of nowhere comes and strikes this image, and the entire image, the entire 00:05:39.360 --> 00:05:42.760 structure of it breaks, it says, into pieces. 00:05:42.760 --> 00:05:48.280 And then the stone that struck it, which was a small stone to begin with, that stone becomes 00:05:48.280 --> 00:05:54.720 a great mountain, and it doesn't end there, it fills the entire earth. 00:05:55.120 --> 00:05:58.240 Daniel proceeds to say this, I want us to listen to this. 00:05:58.240 --> 00:06:04.400 Daniel says, your kingdom, Nebuchadnezzar, is going to be followed by many kingdoms. 00:06:04.400 --> 00:06:10.840 But there is going to come a day, a day in which God is going to set up a new kingdom. 00:06:10.840 --> 00:06:17.400 And this kingdom that God sets up will destroy every other kingdom, and this kingdom that 00:06:17.400 --> 00:06:26.040 God sets up will be unmatched, and this kingdom will cover the entire earth, and it's unstoppable. 00:06:26.040 --> 00:06:27.600 No one can stop it. 00:06:27.600 --> 00:06:32.040 You see the relation, because with what Jacob has been talking about, with where God is 00:06:32.040 --> 00:06:36.600 taking us, he's planned the whole thing. 00:06:36.600 --> 00:06:38.100 This isn't stopping. 00:06:38.100 --> 00:06:41.820 This kingdom that we are part of is not stopping. 00:06:41.820 --> 00:06:45.440 This kingdom that we are part of is always advancing. 00:06:45.480 --> 00:06:48.280 It's ever advancing. 00:06:48.280 --> 00:06:51.400 I like the song that Jane sang initially. 00:06:51.400 --> 00:06:54.320 She kept on saying, God is here. 00:06:54.320 --> 00:06:55.960 God is here. 00:06:55.960 --> 00:06:58.200 God is here. 00:06:58.200 --> 00:07:03.520 Because this kingdom that you and I are a part of, it's an ever advancing kingdom that 00:07:03.520 --> 00:07:08.960 God has set up, and the plan that God has is that this kingdom will reach out to the 00:07:08.960 --> 00:07:12.680 ends of the earth, and it will cover the earth for what? 00:07:12.760 --> 00:07:16.440 For people to come from the kingdom of darkness into this kingdom. 00:07:16.440 --> 00:07:23.120 I want to read a few more verses, and then we'll go down into the next thing. 00:07:23.120 --> 00:07:25.200 So Matthew chapter 3 verse 2. 00:07:25.200 --> 00:07:28.960 We're ready to read 3, 4, 5 verses. 00:07:28.960 --> 00:07:38.400 We'll start with Matthew chapter 3 verse 2. 00:07:38.400 --> 00:07:41.100 It says, this is John the Baptist. 00:07:41.100 --> 00:07:45.380 It says, repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. 00:07:45.380 --> 00:07:52.180 So about 540 years after, Daniel interpreted that dream. 00:07:52.180 --> 00:07:57.620 John the Baptist says, behold, the kingdom of God is at hand. 00:07:57.620 --> 00:07:59.900 It took 540 years. 00:07:59.900 --> 00:08:01.420 Let's read a couple more verses. 00:08:01.420 --> 00:08:05.020 Matthew chapter 4 verse 17. 00:08:05.020 --> 00:08:14.300 Matthew chapter 4 verse 17. 00:08:14.300 --> 00:08:26.220 From proclaiming 00:08:46.960 --> 00:08:48.580 the gospel of the kingdom. 00:08:48.580 --> 00:08:55.040 So the gospel that Jesus taught was and is the gospel of the kingdom. 00:08:55.040 --> 00:09:00.860 Next verse, Matthew chapter 12 verse 28. 00:09:00.860 --> 00:09:04.940 The reason we're going through this is to lay the foundation so we know exactly where 00:09:04.940 --> 00:09:06.220 we're going. 00:09:06.220 --> 00:09:08.180 It started with a dream. 00:09:08.180 --> 00:09:11.360 God is saying, I'm going to set up a kingdom. 00:09:11.360 --> 00:09:15.520 And then John the Baptist enters the scene and he says, the kingdom is at hand. 00:09:15.520 --> 00:09:18.660 And Jesus comes and Jesus says, the kingdom is here. 00:09:18.660 --> 00:09:19.660 The kingdom is here. 00:09:19.660 --> 00:09:20.660 It's in your midst. 00:09:20.660 --> 00:09:21.660 Let's read this. 00:09:21.660 --> 00:09:23.220 Matthew chapter 12 verse 28. 00:09:23.220 --> 00:09:29.440 But if it is by the spirit of God that I cast out demons, Jesus said, then the kingdom 00:09:29.440 --> 00:09:32.400 of God has come upon you. 00:09:32.400 --> 00:09:37.300 If it is by the spirit of God that I cast out demons, Jesus said, then the kingdom of 00:09:37.300 --> 00:09:39.720 God has come upon you already. 00:09:39.720 --> 00:09:40.720 Let's read next one. 00:09:40.720 --> 00:09:45.720 Hebrews chapter 12 verse Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken. 00:10:12.760 --> 00:10:19.920 And thus let us offer to God acceptable worship with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming 00:10:19.920 --> 00:10:20.920 fire. 00:10:20.920 --> 00:10:25.680 See how a few years later as the writer of Hebrew is writing this, he's saying, now let's 00:10:25.720 --> 00:10:28.880 thank God because this kingdom is here. 00:10:28.880 --> 00:10:30.320 And it's not that it's here. 00:10:30.320 --> 00:10:31.920 We have received it. 00:10:31.920 --> 00:10:34.320 We are now a part of this kingdom. 00:10:34.320 --> 00:10:38.760 I want us to see that thread through the Bible. 00:10:38.760 --> 00:10:39.800 Let's see that thread. 00:10:39.800 --> 00:10:43.480 And now God is saying, you're in that kingdom. 00:10:43.480 --> 00:10:45.880 You don't have to go search looking for it. 00:10:45.880 --> 00:10:48.400 We are part of that kingdom. 00:10:48.400 --> 00:10:49.920 Now here's the thing. 00:10:49.920 --> 00:10:55.220 God's kingdom was present in Jesus's birth. 00:10:55.220 --> 00:11:03.260 It was present in his life, in his teachings, in his miracles, in all the deliverance that 00:11:03.260 --> 00:11:10.620 happened and then this kingdom was established by his death. 00:11:10.620 --> 00:11:16.860 And after Jesus's death, this kingdom was inaugurated by God by Jesus's resurrection. 00:11:16.860 --> 00:11:18.380 But here's the best part. 00:11:18.380 --> 00:11:24.220 So the kingdom came, the kingdom was established, the kingdom was inaugurated by the life of 00:11:24.300 --> 00:11:27.700 Jesus, by the death of Jesus, the resurrection of Jesus. 00:11:27.700 --> 00:11:28.840 Here's the best part. 00:11:28.840 --> 00:11:34.060 Now this kingdom is always advancing by the power of the Holy Spirit through men and women 00:11:34.060 --> 00:11:36.100 like us. 00:11:36.100 --> 00:11:42.020 So the kingdom came, the kingdom is here, the kingdom was established, the kingdom was 00:11:42.020 --> 00:11:43.220 inaugurated. 00:11:43.220 --> 00:11:48.940 Now the kingdom is always advancing all the time. 00:11:48.940 --> 00:11:51.220 It ain't stopping. 00:11:51.220 --> 00:11:54.380 When we are not thinking about it, his kingdom is advancing. 00:11:54.380 --> 00:11:56.980 He is in this business. 00:11:56.980 --> 00:11:59.740 The business that God is is maybe a different way of saying, ends of the earth. 00:12:08.780 --> 00:12:10.380 Maybe it makes a little bit more sense. 00:12:10.380 --> 00:12:13.260 It's not the end of the world yet. him to look at this riverbank, look at this river from the banks of it. 00:14:04.060 --> 00:14:05.900 He looks at it, he sees the river. 00:14:05.900 --> 00:14:08.540 You can, we have all seen this, of course. 00:14:08.540 --> 00:14:14.180 But then God started telling him, can you imagine what's underneath the surface? 00:14:14.180 --> 00:14:15.860 You don't see it. 00:14:15.860 --> 00:14:17.220 00:16:03.780 in nature. 00:16:04.300 --> 00:16:10.300 And we have to be more aware of the kingdom we belong to and our role in this kingdom. 00:16:10.300 --> 00:16:22.900 We have to be more aware of
