the next two days, faith, anointing and glory. 00:01:11.640 --> 00:01:16.360 I call it a trifecta because I think all three are necessary in the season that we find ourselves 00:01:16.520 --> 00:01:45.640 One of the scriptures that I read in John chapter 2 verse 11, particularly from the 00:01:45.640 --> 00:01:52.720 NIRV, the reader's version, here's what it says, that was the first of Jesus' miraculous 00:01:52.720 --> 00:01:54.320 signs. 00:01:54.320 --> 00:01:57.200 He did it at Cana in Galilee. 00:01:57.200 --> 00:02:02.080 Jesus showed his glory by doing it, and his disciples put their faith in him. 00:02:02.080 --> 00:02:06.720 The reason I like that verse, particularly from the NIRV, is because in that verse you 00:02:06.800 --> 00:02:13.160 have the idea of anointing through which Jesus did signs, the disciples putting their faith 00:02:13.160 --> 00:02:16.480 in him, and he revealing his glory. 00:02:16.480 --> 00:02:20.040 That's one of the reasons I picked on that verse and from that particular version, John 00:02:20.040 --> 00:02:22.840 chapter 2 verse 11. 00:02:22.840 --> 00:02:26.080 These are the three things we're going to examine today and tomorrow. especially among 00:04:57.400 --> 00:05:04.400 the 12s to the 39s, that is a mighty exploit and requires the largeness of faith, which 00:05:13.800 --> 00:05:20.800 requires a capacity for expectation, which requires the law of expectation, which then 00:05:21.600 --> 00:05:28.600 is dependent on what God is saying. 00:05:28.640 --> 00:05:34.280 God will try you to see how much you can believe. 00:05:34.280 --> 00:05:35.440 What can you believe for? 00:05:35.440 --> 00:05:41.440 One of the questions that Jesus often used is, what do you want me to do for you? 00:05:41.440 --> 00:05:47.760 It is a Jesus question that was loaded because it gauged expectancy. 00:05:47.760 --> 00:05:51.600 What do you want me to do for you? 00:05:51.600 --> 00:05:58.600 It is a question Jesus often asked and the intent of asking was, hey, in asking you this, 00:05:58.600 --> 00:06:05.040 let me gauge your expectancy. 00:06:05.040 --> 00:06:12.040 The deeper my relationship and knowledge of who Jesus Christ is, the greater my response 00:06:12.140 --> 00:06:15.160 to that question. 00:06:15.160 --> 00:06:22.160 Because if he is infinite, omnipotent, can do anything he wants, sovereign, Maxwell and John Maxwell was planning to hire him, they had covered 00:06:54.320 --> 00:07:01.320 about 170 or 175 of the 196 countries with their leadership course material. 00:07:02.320 --> 00:07:06.480 There were about 20 to 22 countries left. 00:07:06.480 --> 00:07:13.480 These were really difficult countries like North Korea, Afghanistan, Somalia, places 00:07:13.480 --> 00:07:17.040 like that, about 20 or 22 countries left. 00:07:17.040 --> 00:07:24.040 That was impossible to go into with leadership material that had strong Christian roots. 00:07:26.040 --> 00:07:32.560 He meets John Maxwell and then they are doing this interview to see whether they should 00:07:32.560 --> 00:07:33.240 hire him. 00:07:33.240 --> 00:07:40.240 This man turns to John Maxwell and says, do not hire me if you do not intend to reach 00:07:41.240 --> 00:07:44.380 every country in the world. 00:07:44.380 --> 00:07:47.240 If you have no intentions of reaching every country in the world, do not hire me. 00:07:47.240 --> 00:07:50.240 It does not matter how much money you throw at me, I am not interested. 00:07:50.240 --> 00:07:54.000 That is how the interview began. 00:07:54.000 --> 00:08:01.000 Maxwell said, we have spent the last 16 years covering 170 and since then these 20 to 22 00:08:01.360 --> 00:08:05.520 countries are the hardest to get into and it is not possible. of, not bravado, but a degree of 00:09:16.880 --> 00:09:20.640 brashness as in, I do not know how this is going to work out, but I am going to step 00:09:20.640 --> 00:09:24.440 out of the boat first and then see how it is going to work out. 00:09:24.440 --> 00:09:29.440 And there is absolute possibility that you might sink. 00:09:30.000 --> 00:09:35.000 He finishes the 22 countries in one year. 00:09:49.640 I was listening to that story and I have known this man, I met this man only twice, once 00:09:49.640 --> 00:09:56.640 in 2000, I do not know when, Heidi and I met him once and then I met him again yesterday 00:09:57.320 --> 00:10:02.560 and I thought to myself, Father, I need a degree of brashness that I do not have. 00:10:02.560 --> 00:10:08.640 My faith is so calculated as in, are you sure God is going to do this? 00:10:08.640 --> 00:10:11.960 My faith should be, this is what I think God wants me to do. 00:10:11.960 --> 00:10:18.960 If it does not work, I will die trying. and flogging and even chains and imprisonment. 00:10:54.480 --> 00:10:57.800 They were put to death by stoning, they were sawed in two, they were killed by the sword, 00:10:57.800 --> 00:11:02.280 expectancy in Moses' heart based on who Yahweh is that the sea is going 00:13:49.680 --> 00:13:50.680 to happen. 00:13:50.680 --> 00:13:52.360 So what does he do? 00:13:52.360 --> 00:13:55.080 He stretches out his stuff. 00:13:55.080 --> 00:14:02.080 When it comes to the Passover, Israel had an expectancy in Egypt that if we put the 00:14:04.000 --> 00:14:11.000 blood of the lamb upon our dopes and lintels, that it is possible for the destroyer to skip 00:14:11.200 --> 00:14:15.200 our homes, pass over our homes and we will not be affected. 00:14:15.200 --> 00:14:20.520 When the woman touches the hem of Jesus' garments without going into the details of 00:14:20.520 --> 00:14:26.440 it, there was this expectancy that this action is the starting point of what I will get. 00:14:26.440 --> 00:14:30.960 In the same way, if we look at the revival, one of the things I keep looking back at is 00:14:30.960 --> 00:14:36.520 there is a point of visibility that we must establish on the earth. 00:14:36.520 --> 00:14:42.320 Sometimes it is with words, sometimes it's going back to January, December 31st and remembering 00:14:42.320 --> 00:14:45.180 this idea of disruptive glory. 00:14:45.180 --> 00:14:50.020 Sometimes it is referring to the Hebrides' revival and this is 2.0 version. 00:14:50.020 --> 00:14:57.020 Sometimes it's going back to 2005 and remembering the words spoken over this church that, listen, 00:14:57.580 --> 00:15:03.300 you will be forebringers of revival, that, listen, apostolic ministries, bishops, young 00:15:03.300 --> 00:15:09.700 men and women will rise up from amongst you, that it will be a revival that is known not 00:15:09.700 --> 00:15:12.780 just for its power but for its purity and devotion. 00:15:12.780 --> 00:15:18.220 These things that are repeated again and again is so that we make visible the starting point 00:15:18.220 --> 00:15:22.020 of our expectancy. 00:15:22.020 --> 00:15:24.420 It must be done again and again. and set it up so that when your kids come back here, they'll know. 00:15:47.940 --> 00:15:54.940 Memorialize this idea of Passover with unleavened bread. 00:15:55.100 --> 00:16:02.100 Break bread and as you do remember what I did for you on the cross, the idea of memorializing 00:16:02.300 --> 00:16:08.540 the expectancy that you have of God, from God, for God is so critical and you must do 00:18:53.660 --> 00:18:58.660 It helps us set captives free. 00:18:58.660 --> 00:19:00.660 Really? 00:19:00.660 --> 00:19:01.660 Yeah. 00:19:01.660 --> 00:19:02.660 Isaiah 61. 00:19:02.660 --> 00:19:07.460 The spirit of the Lord is upon me for he has anointed me. 00:19:07.460 --> 00:19:08.460 For what? 00:19:08.460 --> 00:19:12.660 To preach the good news to the poor, to heal the sick, to open blind eyes, to open prison 00:19:12.660 --> 00:19:18.580 doors, to set the captives free, to proclaim the year of favor. 00:19:18.580 --> 00:19:22.980 It is the power of the spirit upon me to from Isaiah 61 and he says the Spirit of the Lord is upon me and 00:21:17.500 --> 00:21:18.780 has anointed me. 00:21:18.780 --> 00:21:23.060 If Jesus needed an anointing, may I suggest to you that I need it and you need it and 00:21:23.220 --> 00:21:28.940 that we need it to accomplish particularly what God has for us right now. 00:21:28.940 --> 00:21:33.980 I said earlier that anointing is the empowering of the Spirit upon you to accomplish God's 00:21:33.980 --> 00:21:34.740 purpose. 00:21:34.740 --> 00:21:40.100 God's purpose is afoot on the earth and it is that he's bringing a global Character causes your usability to increase.
