00:06:16.860 --> 00:06:18.700 Can I take what the Father said? 00:06:18.700 --> 00:06:25.880 And can I help Jacob taste, realize, rejoice, recognize, enjoy it? 00:06:25.880 --> 00:06:27.600 This is the Holy Spirit's desire. 00:06:27.600 --> 00:06:30.900 His desire is to reveal the fullness and the goodness of Jesus. 00:06:30.900 --> 00:06:34.020 His desire is to reveal the fullness and the goodness of God. 00:06:34.020 --> 00:06:38.900 His desire is to take what God has said through the ages and then bring it to pass in my 00:06:38.900 --> 00:06:39.900 life. 00:06:39.900 --> 00:06:44.620 He does this with a degree of eagerness, yearns jealously to bring to pass what God has birthed 00:06:44.620 --> 00:06:52.900 in his love and the son has paid in his love. 00:06:52.900 --> 00:06:58.780 Given that these things have happened out of love, it is best that they are appropriated 00:06:58.780 --> 00:07:02.500 as ones who are in love with the one who did all this. 00:07:02.500 --> 00:07:05.980 When faith is without love, it's ugly. 00:07:05.980 --> 00:07:08.080 It becomes a strenuous exercise. 00:07:08.080 --> 00:07:09.560 It becomes contractual. 00:07:09.560 --> 00:07:11.580 It becomes work. 00:07:11.580 --> 00:07:16.140 But when faith is appropriated as this is what my Father has promised, this is what 00:07:16.140 --> 00:07:20.980 my elder brother has paid for, this is what the Holy Spirit yearns to reveal in my life, 00:07:20.980 --> 00:07:26.520 then I as a son approach my Father knowing that, oh God, this is not a transaction that 00:07:26.520 --> 00:07:27.780 is contractual. 00:07:27.780 --> 00:07:32.320 This is the heart of the Father towards the son and the son goes towards it rejoicing 00:07:32.320 --> 00:07:35.980 with simple trust that comes easily. 00:07:35.980 --> 00:07:41.420 Remove love from faith and you've got nothing. 00:07:41.420 --> 00:07:45.620 We usually take faith and hope and we hold them together but the one element missing 00:07:45.620 --> 00:07:50.660 is love because if this is not something that originates from a relationship, it becomes 00:07:50.660 --> 00:07:57.020 contractual and once it becomes contractual, it becomes ugly. 00:07:57.020 --> 00:08:05.300 Where the faith movement lost a grasp on faith was when it became contractual and when 00:08:05.300 --> 00:08:10.260 the idea of relationship and the father-son aspect was removed from it, it became ugly 00:08:10.260 --> 00:08:16.060 because the moment you think that faith is some kind of a covenantal bond that God has 00:08:16.060 --> 00:08:22.500 now tied himself to and must perform, then you will measure things by whether you receive 00:08:22.500 --> 00:08:26.700 the object you're standing in faith for instead of measuring it by the relationship that you're 00:08:26.700 --> 00:08:31.380 presently engaged in. 00:08:31.380 --> 00:08:36.140 The reason Hebrews chapter 11 towards the end in verse 38 and 39 speaks of people who 00:08:36.140 --> 00:08:40.940 never got what they stood in faith for but hails them as heroes is because they saw something 00:08:40.940 --> 00:08:44.940 that their father showed them that is far better than the material possessions that 00:08:44.940 --> 00:08:49.380 they could have gotten even though they stood in faith for it till the moment they died. 00:08:49.380 --> 00:08:54.860 May some of you stand in faith and not get what you want and we will still say you're 00:08:54.900 --> 00:09:05.700 a hero because you stood in faith and died. 00:09:05.700 --> 00:09:07.020 That's an aspect we never touch. 00:09:07.020 --> 00:09:13.340 Hebrews chapter 11 ends at 33 and yet it says many stood in faith and did not see their 00:09:13.340 --> 00:09:14.700 promise come to pass. 00:09:14.700 --> 00:09:17.500 That which was promised by God did not come to pass. 00:09:17.500 --> 00:09:18.500 Why?
