It can change how we function with God. It can change how 00:00:58.760 --> 00:01:08.760 we function with God. It can change how we function with God. It can change how we function 00:01:08.760 --> 00:01:15.760 with God. So before that, these are the guys who have to meet me after the service. You're 00:01:15.760 --> 00:01:33.760 in trouble. It's Remy Hamari and then Remy again. Yeah, double. And Evan, Betty, Jeremy, 00:01:33.760 --> 00:01:40.760 and Sure. I think, yeah, those are the guys in trouble immediately. One man 00:01:48.760 --> 00:01:54.760 who really knew how to be loved or what it was to be loved was John. So a lot of scriptures 00:01:55.760 --> 00:02:05.760 from the Gospel of John because he was a man who knew, a man who knew what it was to be 00:02:05.760 --> 00:02:15.760 loved, what it was to be loved by Jesus. Loved by Jesus. That's saying something, eh? I mean 00:02:15.760 --> 00:02:21.760 Jesus had 12 disciples. He sent out 72. He had 120 in the upper room. But there was this 00:02:21.760 --> 00:02:28.760 one man who knew or who knew what it was to be loved by who? By Jesus. That must have 00:02:32.760 --> 00:02:38.760 been nuts, man, because you're talking about the most perfect loving human being on earth 00:02:38.760 --> 00:02:44.760 and he had 12 around him, but nobody else consistently designated himself as the one 00:02:44.760 --> 00:02:50.760 who Jesus loved the most. That's how he used to refer to himself. So here is God walking on 00:02:52.760 --> 00:02:59.760 earth in flesh and here is this man called John who must, who was perhaps the youngest of the 00:02:59.760 --> 00:03:05.760 disciples and he knew what it was to be loved by Jesus. It's not that Jesus wasn't loving to the 00:03:06.760 --> 00:03:12.760 others also because he was not partial. He was, Hamari, you missed the announcement. You have to 00:03:13.760 --> 00:03:19.760 meet me after the service. Big trouble. Yeah. Yeah. So he had all these disciples, but yet John 00:03:23.760 --> 00:03:28.760 seemed to have gotten to a place where he knew what it was to be loved by Jesus. Why am I 00:03:28.760 --> 00:03:34.760 laboring the point? Because you can have 100 disciples, 150 people in this place and yet there 00:03:34.760 --> 00:03:41.760 are those that can get to know what it is to be loved by him, eh? And that's a privilege. 00:03:42.760 --> 00:03:48.760 That is afforded everybody, but we may not all take advantage of it. And so he would, he would 00:03:51.760 --> 00:03:57.760 refer to himself and this is crazy. I mean, the two people that I think did, were amazingly honest, 00:03:59.760 --> 00:04:05.760 but you would think they were presumptuous. Now one was Moses. Moses writes about himself as a 00:04:05.760 --> 00:04:11.760 humblest man on earth. And John writes about himself as he refers to himself as one whom Jesus 00:04:13.760 --> 00:04:19.760 loved. So he used to refer to himself as one whom Jesus loved. That must have driven the others 00:04:19.760 --> 00:04:25.760 crazy, eh? Hey, Tooney, who are you? I'm the one that Jesus loves the most. Can you imagine that? 00:04:27.760 --> 00:04:33.760 That's what John meant by doing. And so we know that it became his very identity. It became his 00:04:33.760 --> 00:04:39.760 very identity. So just remember that it is possible. It is available for all, but it's only 00:04:44.760 --> 00:04:50.760 some that actually press in to know that love the way it should be known. So let's read John 1420. 00:04:55.760 --> 00:05:01.760 It's crazy, eh? When I say a scripture, it comes up on the thing. We're getting high-tech now. So 00:05:01.760 --> 00:05:07.760 let's read John 1420. Hey, it says it again. Oh, it doesn't. Okay. John 1723 and John 159. 00:05:14.760 --> 00:05:20.760 Okay, so we'll read those three scriptures. And from those three scriptures, we'll derive two 00:05:24.760 --> 00:05:30.760 equations that will help us. Okay, so let's read the first three scriptures. 00:05:31.760 --> 00:05:37.760 Okay, so John 1420 first. We'll just read them. 00:05:43.760 --> 00:05:49.760 So here's what it says in John 1420. Let's start at 19. In a little while, the world will no longer 00:05:51.760 --> 00:05:57.760 see me, but you're going to see me because I am alive and you're about to come alive. And then 20. 00:05:57.760 --> 00:06:03.760 At that moment, you will know absolutely that I am in the Father and you're in me and I am in you. 00:06:06.760 --> 00:06:12.760 At that moment, you will know absolutely, as in there'll be no doubt, you will know absolutely that I am in my 00:06:12.760 --> 00:06:18.760 Father. Jesus is speaking, so he's saying, I, Jesus, I'm in the Father. You, Jacob, are in me. And I, 00:06:19.760 --> 00:06:25.760 Jesus, I'm in you, Jacob. So that's the first scripture. The next one, John 1723. John 1723. 00:06:27.760 --> 00:06:33.760 Jesus again speaking, I in them and you in me. Then they'll be, let me read it from the NIV. 00:06:36.760 --> 00:06:42.760 John 1723. I in them and you in me, so that they may be brought to complete unity. 00:06:45.760 --> 00:06:51.760 So that they may be brought to complete unity. So that they may be brought to complete unity. 00:06:51.760 --> 00:06:57.760 I in them and you in me, so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you 00:06:58.760 --> 00:07:04.760 sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me. One more time. I in them, or if you were to take 00:07:05.760 --> 00:07:11.760 yourself as an individual, I in Derek and Derek in me. So that they may be brought to complete unity. 00:07:11.760 --> 00:07:17.760 So that they may be brought to complete unity. Who? Derek and Jesus. Then the world will know that you 00:07:18.760 --> 00:07:24.760 sent me and have loved them even as you have loved them. Next one. John 159. 00:07:26.760 --> 00:07:32.760 John 159. As the Father has loved me, Jesus, so have I loved you, Jonathan. Now remain in my love. 00:07:32.760 --> 00:07:38.760 As the Father has loved me, Jesus, so have I loved you, Jonathan. Now remain in my love. 00:07:40.760 --> 00:07:46.760 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 00:07:47.760 --> 00:07:51.760 Those are the three scriptures we are looking at. They're all spoken by Jesus. 00:07:52.760 --> 00:08:00.760 And here are the equations we can derive out of it. Okay? The first one. Jesus is in the Father. 00:08:02.760 --> 00:08:10.760 The Father is in Jesus. That's the first part. Next one. Jesus is in me. 00:08:11.760 --> 00:08:19.760 I am in Jesus. That's the first equation. 00:08:20.760 --> 00:08:26.760 What about Jesus? Jesus is in me. 00:08:26.760 --> 00:08:30.760 I am in Jesus. That's the first equation. 00:08:31.760 --> 00:08:41.760 What are we looking at here? We're looking at perfect oneness. Perfect inseparable oneness. 00:08:42.760 --> 00:08:50.760 Perfect inseparable oneness brought to us by the Spirit. 00:08:50.760 --> 00:08:58.760 By the Spirit. Where do we find that? We find that in 1 Corinthians 6.17, 00:08:59.760 --> 00:09:03.760 which says that your Spirit and God's Spirit have become one. 00:09:04.760 --> 00:09:06.760 So just look at that before we go on to the next one. 00:09:07.760 --> 00:09:15.760 Jesus says, Jesus is in the Father. The Father is in Jesus. So that's part A. Part B. 00:09:15.760 --> 00:09:24.760 Part B. Jesus, the King of the Universe, is in me, Jacob. And Jacob is in Jesus. 00:09:25.760 --> 00:09:30.760 What are we looking at here? We're looking at perfect inseparable oneness. 00:09:31.760 --> 00:09:36.760 Whether we experience it or not, whether we realize it or not, whether we accept it or not, 00:09:37.760 --> 00:09:43.760 is not what we're trying to debate here. We are saying this is the truth. 00:09:43.760 --> 00:09:53.760 The degree of oneness is crazy. He's a transcendent being. 00:09:54.760 --> 00:10:06.760 And yet he chooses this for himself and for us. Any questions? I can't hear you. 00:10:06.760 --> 00:10:21.760 I can't hear you. Yeah. True. Absolutely. Absolutely. The oneness is just remarkable. 00:10:22.760 --> 00:10:29.760 Anybody who has received Christ into their lives, recognizing him as the only God, 00:10:29.760 --> 00:10:37.760 I need more volume guys, without the echo, recognizing him as the only God with no other God, 00:10:38.760 --> 00:10:43.760 every other God not being a God but Christ alone God who came down to the earth in flesh, 00:10:44.760 --> 00:10:52.760 was born of a virgin, died on a cross, rose again. Anyone who receives Christ becomes part of this equation. 00:10:52.760 --> 00:10:58.760 Playing around with Christ as in, yeah, he is a good teacher or he is one of the gods, that doesn't fit. 00:10:59.760 --> 00:11:02.760 There are absolutes in this world and this is one of those absolutes. 00:11:03.760 --> 00:11:08.760 But this is the degree of oneness we are talking about. Any questions? 00:11:11.760 --> 00:11:20.760 So just think of it right now. As I stand here, this is true for me, that Jesus, the creator, 00:11:20.760 --> 00:11:27.760 that Jesus, the king of the universe, is in me, I am in him. Act 1728 talks about it. 00:11:28.760 --> 00:11:34.760 It says, in him I live and move and have all my being. And not just that, Jesus is in the Father. 00:11:35.760 --> 00:11:41.760 So like Diana is saying, I, the Father, Jesus and the Spirit have a commonality. 00:11:41.760 --> 00:11:47.760 It is a oneness that is inseparable, inseparable, inseparable. 00:11:48.760 --> 00:11:54.760 And the sooner I come to grips with this, and that's why I said some of us will have to go sail off on this, 00:11:55.760 --> 00:11:59.760 as in I need to go home and ponder because this is not something the mind can understand. 00:12:00.760 --> 00:12:06.760 But this is certainly something that we can comprehend and begin to experience as we begin to think about it. 00:12:06.760 --> 00:12:13.760 Inseparable oneness. It begins to stop us from looking for God outside. 00:12:14.760 --> 00:12:17.760 It begins to stop us from looking for God even in this place. 00:12:18.760 --> 00:12:29.760 We should get to a point where even references like he is in this place will become moot because he is yes in this place. 00:12:29.760 --> 00:12:34.760 He is yes in this place. He is yes in the heavens. 00:12:35.760 --> 00:12:41.760 But there is somewhere that he is more one than anywhere else and that is me in him and in he in me. 00:12:44.760 --> 00:12:46.760 This is brilliant math. 00:12:49.760 --> 00:12:54.760 That only those who failed in math will understand. I did. 00:12:56.760 --> 00:12:58.760 Amen? Yeah. 00:13:00.760 --> 00:13:02.760 Any questions? 00:13:05.760 --> 00:13:11.760 Okay. Next equation. I love saying equation. I was never good at them when I was in school. 00:13:12.760 --> 00:13:14.760 Next one. 00:13:16.760 --> 00:13:19.760 Next one goes like this based on the scriptures we read. 00:13:20.760 --> 00:13:33.760 Jesus loves me just as the father loves him. 00:13:36.760 --> 00:13:38.760 That was in John 1420 I think. 00:13:38.760 --> 00:13:48.760 And then in John, sorry that was in John 159, in John 1723 it says the father loves me just as he loves Jesus. 00:14:01.760 --> 00:14:03.760 What are we talking about here? 00:14:03.760 --> 00:14:12.760 Perfect, inflexible, really it's inflexible. Perfect, inflexible love. 00:14:13.760 --> 00:14:20.760 Again by the spirit when you read Romans 5.5. 00:14:25.760 --> 00:14:31.760 One version puts it as endless cascading love that the Holy Spirit pours into our hearts. 00:14:31.760 --> 00:14:33.760 But think of this equation now. 00:14:35.760 --> 00:14:41.760 Jesus loves me and we'll explore what it even means. 00:14:42.760 --> 00:14:52.760 But Jesus Christ, the King of the entire universe, 400 billion stars in the Milky Way are galaxies and trillions of galaxies. 00:14:53.760 --> 00:14:59.760 Jesus Christ, the King of the universe loves me just as his father loves him. 00:15:00.760 --> 00:15:08.760 And then the next part is the father loves me just as he loves Jesus. 00:15:09.760 --> 00:15:17.760 This kind of love, it's perfect, it's inflexible and it is poured into my heart by the Spirit. 00:15:18.760 --> 00:15:27.760 Taste it man. It is just ridiculous the oneness and the love that you and I actually have, not will have. 00:15:28.760 --> 00:15:34.760 It's just, it'll make you a different species if you actually think about it. 00:15:39.760 --> 00:15:40.760 Any questions on this one? 00:15:41.760 --> 00:15:51.760 Romans 5.5 says, and we are not disappointed because the Holy Spirit pours into our hearts the love that the father has for us. 00:15:52.760 --> 00:15:53.760 So he makes us aware of it. 00:15:53.760 --> 00:15:58.760 Again, John knew how much he was loved. 00:15:59.760 --> 00:16:07.760 It is possible for us to know this because of the Holy Spirit who lives in us and he lives in everybody who has received Christ into their lives. 00:16:08.760 --> 00:16:10.760 So it's absolutely possible. 00:16:14.760 --> 00:16:15.760 Any questions? 00:16:20.760 --> 00:16:21.760 Cool. 00:16:23.760 --> 00:16:29.760 So how does the father love Jesus? That's the question. 00:16:30.760 --> 00:16:37.760 So the father loves me, the father loves you just as he loves Jesus, Jesus loves you just as he is loved by the father. 00:16:38.760 --> 00:16:45.760 So what or how does the father love Jesus? 00:16:46.760 --> 00:16:49.760 That's what we look at for the rest of the evening. 00:16:50.760 --> 00:17:16.760 So one, this is an important and difficult one, his love is an outflow because of your inherent created value. 00:17:17.760 --> 00:17:18.760 We'll have to explain that. 00:17:19.760 --> 00:17:38.760 Guys, we assign value, we grade deservedness and love based on performance, based on usefulness, based on outcomes, based on reciprocation. 00:17:41.760 --> 00:17:44.760 That's how we assign value. 00:17:45.760 --> 00:17:53.760 That's how we grade deservedness and love. 00:17:54.760 --> 00:17:55.760 That's how we grade it. 00:17:56.760 --> 00:17:58.760 That's how humans have learned to live and behave. 00:18:01.760 --> 00:18:02.760 Here's the thing. 00:18:03.760 --> 00:18:08.760 What if you were absolutely, not what if you were, what if I was absolutely useless to God? 00:18:09.760 --> 00:18:13.760 What if I did not reciprocate what he gives me? 00:18:14.760 --> 00:18:17.760 What if all my outcomes were pretty dismal? 00:18:18.760 --> 00:18:23.760 And what if my performance was really bad? 00:18:26.760 --> 00:18:29.760 How do I then receive this love? 00:18:33.760 --> 00:18:39.760 If I'm not of any use, if my performance is abject, 00:18:39.760 --> 00:18:51.760 if my outcomes are dismal and if I don't reciprocate, what gives me, why is it that he assigns value to me? 00:18:54.760 --> 00:18:58.760 If you actually think about it, it will break you and it will ruin you. 00:19:00.760 --> 00:19:02.760 It'll ruin you. 00:19:02.760 --> 00:19:03.760 It'll ruin you. 00:19:05.760 --> 00:19:17.760 Because everything we do, everything we do is based on deserving things because of our performance, because of our usefulness, because of outcomes, because of reciprocation. 00:19:18.760 --> 00:19:25.760 Try not doing anything and yet knowing you are loved, you will beg for a reason. 00:19:26.760 --> 00:19:30.760 You will ask for a reason. Tell me why you like me when I have not done anything for you. 00:19:30.760 --> 00:19:36.760 Tell me why you like me when I have not shown any gratitude back. 00:19:37.760 --> 00:19:41.760 Tell me why you like me when I'm not used by you. 00:19:42.760 --> 00:19:46.760 Tell me why you like me when there is no outcome in my life that brings anything to you. 00:19:49.760 --> 00:19:58.760 If you can get to that point, at that point, you will know what it is to be loved by him. 00:19:58.760 --> 00:20:04.760 Until we get to that point, we will not be able to receive the fullness of his love. 00:20:05.760 --> 00:20:07.760 This is why only children are like this. 00:20:16.760 --> 00:20:24.760 When I thought of this once, I started crying because I thought to myself, what if this was true? 00:20:25.760 --> 00:20:27.760 Why would you still like me? And it exposes who you are. 00:20:28.760 --> 00:20:33.760 It exposes how much value you assign to what you are for God. 00:20:38.760 --> 00:20:39.760 It will ruin you. 00:20:43.760 --> 00:20:46.760 This is what happens sometimes. I'm just giving this as an example. 00:20:47.760 --> 00:20:51.760 Sometimes you have husbands or wives that are caught in adultery. 00:20:51.760 --> 00:21:06.760 Once the adulterous relationship is exposed and their wife still comes and loves them and loves them as they used to love before the adultery was found out, it ruins the husband usually. 00:21:07.760 --> 00:21:13.760 It just breaks him. It's like, why would you still like me after what I have done to you? 00:21:16.760 --> 00:21:17.760 It's that kind of thing. 00:21:21.760 --> 00:21:22.760 Sela. 00:21:26.760 --> 00:21:36.760 If my value does not come from usefulness, if my value does not come from reciprocation, outcome of performance, then how do you assign value to me, oh God? 00:21:37.760 --> 00:21:38.760 How do you assign value to me? 00:21:41.760 --> 00:21:46.760 What is it about me that then you have that makes me worthy of love? 00:21:46.760 --> 00:21:49.760 What are we talking about? We're talking about how does the father love Jesus. 00:21:50.760 --> 00:21:57.760 You must realize that the father loved the son. The son was not created. He is creator. 00:21:58.760 --> 00:22:12.760 But the father loved the son before any act of creation or any kind of act of love. 00:22:12.760 --> 00:22:17.760 Creation or redemption? 00:22:20.760 --> 00:22:29.760 When you read John 3, 35 or when you read Jeremiah 31, 3, you see that. 00:22:29.760 --> 00:22:42.760 Why do you love me? I need a reason. Otherwise it will break and ruin me. 00:22:43.760 --> 00:22:46.760 Go to John 3, 35. 00:22:46.760 --> 00:23:03.760 In the NIV it says the father loves the son and has placed everything in his hands. 00:23:04.760 --> 00:23:14.760 In Jeremiah 31, Jeremiah 31, verse 3. 00:23:16.760 --> 00:23:23.760 It's Jeremiah talking about how God loves the son and God loves Israel because Israel was also called the son. 00:23:24.760 --> 00:23:27.760 The Lord appeared to us in the passing, I have loved you with an everlasting love. 00:23:28.760 --> 00:23:33.760 I've drawn you with unfailing kindness. I will build you up again and you, virgin Israel, will be rebuilt. 00:23:34.760 --> 00:23:36.760 Again you will take up your timbrels and go out and dance with joy. 00:23:37.760 --> 00:23:39.760 Again you will plant vineyards on the hills of Samaria. 00:23:39.760 --> 00:23:44.760 The Lord appeared to us in the passing, I have loved you with an everlasting love. 00:23:45.760 --> 00:23:49.760 I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. 00:23:50.760 --> 00:23:56.760 Is it possible for you, and trust me guys, this is a common problem all across this room. 00:23:57.760 --> 00:24:01.760 Is it possible for you to be loved without doing anything? 00:24:09.760 --> 00:24:19.760 Is it possible for you to know you are deeply loved without doing anything? 00:24:20.760 --> 00:24:30.760 Is it possible for you to experience his love without praying, without doing anything? 00:24:39.760 --> 00:24:44.760 The answer is usually no. 00:25:01.760 --> 00:25:05.760 Yeah, how do you then take stuff like we have to repent and believe in the son and so on? 00:25:05.760 --> 00:25:10.760 Guys, the fundamental scripture behind this is he first loved me. 00:25:11.760 --> 00:25:18.760 And so without knowing what it is to be loved, all those things are just borderline religion and spirituality. 00:25:19.760 --> 00:25:25.760 It's at that borderline. It's like when you cross from Canada to the US, there's that line, invisible line. 00:25:26.760 --> 00:25:28.760 It's right there and keeps fluctuating up and down. 00:25:29.760 --> 00:25:33.760 But we don't want to live there. It should be this burst that comes out of it. 00:25:33.760 --> 00:25:36.760 And this is the same with our relationships with people too. 00:25:37.760 --> 00:25:40.760 What we do with God, we've already done with people. 00:25:41.760 --> 00:25:48.760 Outcomes, reciprocation, deservedness is something that measures our love for people and measures their love for us. 00:25:49.760 --> 00:25:54.760 And it will always collapse because no human is perfect. 00:25:55.760 --> 00:25:57.760 It will always hurt. 00:25:57.760 --> 00:25:59.760 It will always hurt. 00:26:11.760 --> 00:26:24.760 You are, as in you exist today, you are here, not as in you're present, you are today because he fully loves you. 00:26:24.760 --> 00:26:25.760 Loves you. 00:26:26.760 --> 00:26:30.760 Remember, this is a creator. He can end you like this. 00:26:31.760 --> 00:26:33.760 Not end you like this as in end your physical life. 00:26:34.760 --> 00:26:37.760 He can end you like this as in you cease to exist. 00:26:38.760 --> 00:26:44.760 Please understand, this is not some kind of life that we have a lease on or that because we received Christ we now must have. 00:26:45.760 --> 00:26:47.760 It is up to him. He is creator. 00:26:48.760 --> 00:26:51.760 He can cause you to cease to exist, not die. 00:26:51.760 --> 00:26:53.760 Cease to exist if he wants to. 00:26:54.760 --> 00:26:59.760 You are today because he loves. 00:27:00.760 --> 00:27:06.760 And he loves you fully and he is completely loyal. 00:27:07.760 --> 00:27:09.760 What a word to use for the king of the universe. 00:27:10.760 --> 00:27:12.760 He's completely loyal. 00:27:13.760 --> 00:27:16.760 That's not a word you use for the master. 00:27:17.760 --> 00:27:18.760 That's the word you use for a servant. 00:27:18.760 --> 00:27:20.760 You get loyal servants. 00:27:23.760 --> 00:27:26.760 But you get loyal masters. That's a whole different thing. 00:27:27.760 --> 00:27:31.760 When you're the king of the universe, he's loyal in his love to you. 00:27:43.760 --> 00:27:47.760 You can please him or you can displease him. 00:27:48.760 --> 00:27:50.760 You can please him or displease him. 00:27:51.760 --> 00:27:53.760 But you can't affect his love. 00:28:01.760 --> 00:28:02.760 Crazy eh? 00:28:03.760 --> 00:28:09.760 You can please him or you can displease him but you cannot affect his love. 00:28:12.760 --> 00:28:14.760 Love is not a divine response guys. 00:28:15.760 --> 00:28:17.760 Love is not a divine response. 00:28:18.760 --> 00:28:20.760 Love is the substance. 00:28:21.760 --> 00:28:23.760 Love is the substance of him. It's not a divine response. 00:28:24.760 --> 00:28:25.760 Nothing provokes it. 00:28:26.760 --> 00:28:30.760 Love is not a divine response. It is the substance of him. 00:28:36.760 --> 00:28:38.760 It's not just the substance of him. 00:28:39.760 --> 00:28:45.760 It's the substance that formed you. 00:28:46.760 --> 00:28:49.760 It's the substance that formed you out of the dust. 00:28:50.760 --> 00:28:52.760 What is the substance we are talking about? 00:28:53.760 --> 00:28:58.760 Three things. Truth, grace, love. 00:28:59.760 --> 00:29:01.760 Three things that he used to form you eh? 00:29:02.760 --> 00:29:07.760 There's something about your forming that is so true.
