00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:14.240 Hey guys, so the teachings over the last few weeks have the strange nature, they're not 00:00:14.240 --> 00:00:19.800 prophetic but they are predictive and descriptive. 00:00:19.800 --> 00:00:25.740 And what I mean by that is a prophetic teaching would be where in the teaching you're beginning 00:00:25.740 --> 00:00:30.940 to speak of things that are going to happen or you're revealing things in the word that 00:00:30.940 --> 00:00:32.140 have not been revealed yet. 00:00:32.140 --> 00:00:33.140 So I'm not talking about that. 00:00:33.140 --> 00:00:37.780 I'm not saying the teaching is prophetic but during the time of preparing the teaching 00:00:37.780 --> 00:00:44.300 or during the delivery of the teaching, it's predictive as in it tells you what is happening 00:00:44.300 --> 00:00:48.260 presently with us and then describes what is happening. 00:00:48.260 --> 00:00:53.500 And so this is one of those teachings again which is both predictive and descriptive as 00:00:53.700 --> 00:00:57.900 in God saying, hey, while you're listening to this teaching, I want you to know this 00:00:57.900 --> 00:01:02.460 is where you are and this is what it looks like. 00:01:02.460 --> 00:01:06.780 That is something that either is happening while the teaching is being prepared or while 00:01:06.780 --> 00:01:08.380 it's being delivered. 00:01:08.380 --> 00:01:15.380 And so like for instance, last week we were talking about Palm Sunday and suddenly God 00:01:16.860 --> 00:01:22.540 made it evident that our time of concealment is over. 00:01:22.540 --> 00:01:25.860 It was not that your time of concealment will soon be over. 00:01:25.860 --> 00:01:30.580 There is a time coming but suddenly it was predictive as in you are at this place in 00:01:30.580 --> 00:01:36.220 your phases of life where the time of concealment is over. 00:01:36.220 --> 00:01:38.780 So that's what I mean by predictive and descriptive. 00:01:38.780 --> 00:01:44.020 Maybe there are better words to use than that but I want you to have a sense of that. 00:01:44.020 --> 00:01:48.340 And so the teaching today, if you want to title it, it's third day. 00:01:48.340 --> 00:01:51.460 That's the title of the teaching, third day. 00:01:52.460 --> 00:01:59.460 And so if you go to 1 Corinthians 15, 1 Corinthians 15 verse 4, we'll start there. 00:02:00.460 --> 00:02:03.460 1 Corinthians 15 verse 3 and 4. 00:02:06.460 --> 00:02:11.460 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance. 00:02:13.460 --> 00:02:17.460 Amazing, he actually puts first importance there. 00:02:17.460 --> 00:02:22.460 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance, as in primary. 00:02:23.460 --> 00:02:29.460 That Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, that he was buried and that 00:02:29.460 --> 00:02:34.460 he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures. 00:02:34.460 --> 00:02:39.460 That he was buried and that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures. 00:02:39.460 --> 00:02:45.460 And yet you wonder sometimes what scriptures Paul is alluding to because there's no specific 00:02:45.460 --> 00:02:50.460 verse in the Old Testament which is what he would be talking about, not the gospels, 00:02:50.460 --> 00:02:54.460 that specifically say that Jesus was going to rise on the third day. 00:02:55.460 --> 00:02:59.460 And yet right from the beginning of time, right from Genesis onwards, there have been 00:02:59.460 --> 00:03:08.460 these glimpses or parallels that God has continuously established to show us that there was a rising 00:03:08.460 --> 00:03:12.460 up or a resurrection that was afoot. 00:03:12.460 --> 00:03:16.460 So if you go to Luke 24, 46. 00:03:18.460 --> 00:03:20.460 Luke 24, 46. 00:03:30.460 --> 00:03:32.460 Starting at verse 45. 00:03:32.460 --> 00:03:35.460 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the scriptures. 00:03:35.460 --> 00:03:43.460 He told them, this is what is written, the Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day. 00:03:45.460 --> 00:03:49.460 The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day. 00:03:51.460 --> 00:03:56.460 And there too it says he was trying to explain the scriptures to them. 00:03:57.460 --> 00:03:59.460 If you go to Hosea 6, verse 2. 00:03:59.460 --> 00:04:01.460 Hosea 6, verse 2. 00:04:01.460 --> 00:04:03.460 Hosea 6, verse 2. 00:04:06.460 --> 00:04:08.460 Let's read verse 1 and 2. 00:04:11.460 --> 00:04:15.460 Come let us return to the Lord, he has torn us to pieces but he will heal us. 00:04:15.460 --> 00:04:18.460 He has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. 00:04:20.460 --> 00:04:24.460 So easy for Israel to take this upon herself as having suffered it. 00:04:24.460 --> 00:04:28.460 But the strange thing was when Israel was formed, the first thing God says is, 00:04:28.460 --> 00:04:30.460 You are my son. 00:04:30.460 --> 00:04:32.460 Israel, you are my first born son. 00:04:34.460 --> 00:04:38.460 When you look at it in that light, then this begins to make even more sense. 00:04:38.460 --> 00:04:40.460 It's almost like the song says, 00:04:40.460 --> 00:04:43.460 Friday is disappointment and Sunday is rising. 00:04:43.460 --> 00:04:46.460 Saturday has gone through but what is impossible for God. 00:04:46.460 --> 00:04:50.460 Come let us return to the Lord, he has torn us to pieces but he will heal us. 00:04:50.460 --> 00:04:53.460 He has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. 00:04:53.460 --> 00:04:55.460 After two days he will revive us. 00:04:55.460 --> 00:04:57.460 After two days he will revive us. 00:04:57.460 --> 00:05:01.460 On the third day he will restore us that we may live in his presence. 00:05:03.460 --> 00:05:05.460 Then if you go to Genesis 22, 4. 00:05:06.460 --> 00:05:08.460 Genesis 22, 4. 00:05:09.460 --> 00:05:11.460 Genesis 22, 4. 00:05:13.460 --> 00:05:15.460 Starting at verse 3. 00:05:15.460 --> 00:05:18.460 Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. 00:05:21.460 --> 00:05:24.460 He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. 00:05:25.460 --> 00:05:30.460 When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offerings, he set out for the place God had told him about. 00:05:31.460 --> 00:05:33.460 On the third day. 00:05:33.460 --> 00:05:36.460 Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 00:05:36.460 --> 00:05:40.460 He said to his servants, stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. 00:05:40.460 --> 00:05:42.460 We will worship and then we will come back to you. 00:05:42.460 --> 00:05:44.460 On the third day. 00:05:44.460 --> 00:05:52.460 And that is the day when Isaac is raised from literally the dead as it says in Hebrews 11. 00:05:53.460 --> 00:06:09.460 And so one of the statements that we want to make today and one we'll start with is that in Christ we are living in the third day. 00:06:11.460 --> 00:06:13.460 In Christ we are living in the third day. 00:06:13.460 --> 00:06:16.460 And today we want to look at what does that entail? 00:06:16.460 --> 00:06:18.460 What does that entail? 00:06:18.460 --> 00:06:26.460 In the Old Testament you will find that on the third day God seems to have a pattern of doing redemptive things. 00:06:29.460 --> 00:06:33.460 As in rescuing or ransoming or setting people free. 00:06:33.460 --> 00:06:37.460 He has a pattern of doing revelatory things. 00:06:37.460 --> 00:06:44.460 As in bringing a new way, a new system into place. 00:06:45.460 --> 00:06:53.460 And he has a pattern of doing resurrected things on the third day. 00:06:53.460 --> 00:06:59.460 On the third day this seems to be something that God keeps doing. 00:06:59.460 --> 00:07:01.460 It's a pattern. 00:07:01.460 --> 00:07:04.460 And it's not a once or twice pattern. 00:07:04.460 --> 00:07:12.460 It's a repeated pattern of redemptive things, of revelatory things, of resurrected things done on the third day. 00:07:12.460 --> 00:07:16.460 One of the first mentions of the third day is obviously in Genesis 1. 00:07:18.460 --> 00:07:20.460 Genesis 1 verse 9 to 13. 00:07:21.460 --> 00:07:23.460 Genesis 1, 9 to 13. 00:07:28.460 --> 00:07:30.460 And here's what happens on the third day. 00:07:30.460 --> 00:07:35.460 There's a separation, there is a seeding, and there is fruitfulness. 00:07:35.460 --> 00:07:39.460 There is a separation, there is a seeding, there is fruitfulness. 00:07:39.460 --> 00:07:41.460 It almost takes you to Good Friday. 00:07:41.460 --> 00:07:43.460 A separation, a seeding, a fruitfulness. 00:07:43.460 --> 00:07:49.460 And God said, let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water. 00:07:49.460 --> 00:07:51.460 Sorry, verse 9. 00:07:51.460 --> 00:07:57.460 God said, let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let the dry ground appear. 00:07:57.460 --> 00:07:58.460 And it was so. 00:07:58.460 --> 00:08:02.460 God called the dry ground land and gathered the waters he called seas. 00:08:02.460 --> 00:08:04.460 And God saw that it was good. 00:08:04.460 --> 00:08:07.460 Then God said, let the land produce vegetation. 00:08:07.460 --> 00:08:12.460 Seed bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it according to their various kinds. 00:08:12.460 --> 00:08:13.460 And it was so. 00:08:13.460 --> 00:08:21.460 The land produced vegetation, plants bearing seed according to their kinds, trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. 00:08:21.460 --> 00:08:23.460 And God saw that it was good. 00:08:23.460 --> 00:08:26.460 And there was evening and there was morning the third day. 00:08:27.460 --> 00:08:32.460 So the first time the third day is mentioned, there is separation, there is seeding, there is fruitfulness. 00:08:32.460 --> 00:08:37.460 Another third day example is in Exodus 19.16. 00:08:37.460 --> 00:08:39.460 Exodus 19.16. 00:08:39.460 --> 00:08:41.460 Exodus 19.16. 00:08:41.460 --> 00:08:43.460 Man, this coffee is good. 00:08:47.460 --> 00:08:55.460 On the morning of the third day, there was thunder and lightning with thick cloud over the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast. 00:08:55.460 --> 00:08:57.460 Everyone in the crowd was in shock. 00:08:57.460 --> 00:09:02.460 Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 00:09:02.460 --> 00:09:06.460 Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the Lord descended on it in fire. 00:09:06.460 --> 00:09:09.460 The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace. 00:09:09.460 --> 00:09:14.460 The whole mountain trembled violently and the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder. 00:09:14.460 --> 00:09:17.460 Then Moses spoke and the voice of God answered him. 00:09:17.460 --> 00:09:23.460 So on the third day, God descends on Mount Sinai in fire and he tells the people, 00:09:23.460 --> 00:09:35.460 On the third day, God descends on Mount Sinai in fire and he constitutes a new nation, new life and new laws after delivering Israel out of Egypt. 00:09:35.460 --> 00:09:42.460 And so this goes back to the whole idea of being revelatory, being resurrected, being redemptive. 00:09:42.460 --> 00:09:48.460 Where on the third day, and I'm saying to you that in Christ, we are living in the third day. 00:09:48.460 --> 00:09:57.460 As I said, this message is predictive and descriptive and it gives us an idea of where we are located presently, 00:09:57.460 --> 00:10:03.460 both corporately and as individuals, if we want to take advantage of what is happening to us as a body. 00:10:03.460 --> 00:10:07.460 And that's what we'll keep exploring today. 00:10:07.460 --> 00:10:12.460 So on the third day in Exodus 19, we see God descending on Mount Sinai in fire 00:10:12.460 --> 00:10:19.460 and constituting or beginning a new nation, a new life and he gives them new laws. 00:10:19.460 --> 00:10:25.460 Go to Joshua 1.11. Joshua 1.11. 00:10:25.460 --> 00:10:36.460 I'm just pulling out a few examples. You'll be surprised at how many examples there actually are. Joshua 1.11. 00:10:36.460 --> 00:10:41.460 So Joshua ordered the officers of the people go through the camp and tell the people, 00:10:41.460 --> 00:10:50.460 get your supplies ready. Three days from now, you will cross to Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land 00:10:50.460 --> 00:10:55.460 the Lord your God is giving for your own. 00:10:55.460 --> 00:10:58.460 And then if you go to Joshua 3.2, it actually happens. 00:10:58.460 --> 00:11:02.460 After three days, the officer went throughout the camp giving orders to the people. 00:11:02.460 --> 00:11:07.460 When you see the Ark of the Covenant, begin to follow it. 00:11:07.460 --> 00:11:13.460 The point being, again on the third day, the Israelites crossed Jordan to enter and possess the land 00:11:13.460 --> 00:11:17.460 that was given to them as an inheritance by God. 00:11:17.460 --> 00:11:24.460 Go to Esther 5. Esther 5. Esther 5 verse 1. 00:11:24.460 --> 00:11:29.460 Esther 5. Hey, there's a slight boop in the mic. I don't know why. 00:11:29.460 --> 00:11:38.460 If there's a way to remove it, remove it. If not, I can live with it. And so can everybody on Lifestream. 00:11:38.460 --> 00:11:49.460 Esther 5. Maybe it's just me spitting a lot today. 00:11:49.460 --> 00:11:55.460 And if it is that, I don't want to know about it. Could you please own it and say it's your fault? 00:11:55.460 --> 00:12:02.460 Where is Esther? How come we've never had an Esther at Acts 29? 00:12:02.460 --> 00:12:23.460 I have no idea. I can hear it. Yeah. Esther, I found her. 00:12:23.460 --> 00:12:30.460 This is not a profound statement, but if you ever want to find Esther, Derek, you can always find her somewhere near Job or Nehemiah. 00:12:30.460 --> 00:12:39.460 Yeah. 00:12:39.460 --> 00:12:46.460 All right, moving on. 00:12:46.460 --> 00:12:51.460 Yeah, we'll have more news on Derek later. 00:12:51.460 --> 00:12:56.460 Third day. Esther 5. 00:12:56.460 --> 00:13:02.460 On the third day, Esther put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace in front of the king's hall. 00:13:02.460 --> 00:13:07.460 The king was sitting on his royal throne in the hall facing the entrance. And that's when Queen Esther enters. 00:13:07.460 --> 00:13:14.460 On the third day, Esther goes before the Persian king to thwart a death plot against her people. 00:13:14.460 --> 00:13:19.460 These are different third day examples I'm giving you. 00:13:19.460 --> 00:13:36.460 And one of the things that happens when a church or a people or a person is in this third day position is that God unveils himself corporately and individually like you have never seen him before. 00:13:36.460 --> 00:14:03.460 God unveils himself corporately. God unveils or discloses himself. God unveils or discloses himself corporately and individually like you have never seen him before. 00:14:06.460 --> 00:14:17.460 And I'm saying to you, not just based on this teaching, but based on my present experience, that this is absolutely true. 00:14:17.460 --> 00:14:30.460 And I could share the experience of a few others that are actually going through this right now, where God begins to unveil himself corporately and individually like you haven't seen before. 00:14:30.460 --> 00:14:49.460 And so either based on this teaching and then based on the experiences that are presently happening within the church, I would suggest to you that if you haven't already plunged in or dove in, I would suggest that you take advantage of this weakness of God which will be to your strength. 00:14:49.460 --> 00:15:02.460 Another thing that happens during this time is that God begins to descend expecting, God descends expecting you to ascend and access. 00:15:02.460 --> 00:15:19.460 Another thing that happens during this time is that God begins to descend expecting, God descends expecting you to ascend and access. 00:15:19.460 --> 00:15:27.460 God descends expecting you to ascend and access. 00:15:27.460 --> 00:15:34.460 How does that work in real terms? If there are questions, you let me know, right? 00:15:34.460 --> 00:15:38.460 How does this work in real terms? 00:15:38.460 --> 00:15:54.460 Whenever God descends to meet you, you will know. There will be constant interruptions, invitations, interventions in your life, which will make it evident that God is trying to get your attention. 00:15:54.460 --> 00:16:03.460 Once he does that, he then positions himself far away enough so that you have to make an effort to catch him. 00:16:03.460 --> 00:16:08.460 That's what this actually looks like. 00:16:08.460 --> 00:16:12.460 And then when you make an effort, you have to ascend. 00:16:12.460 --> 00:16:18.460 And as soon as he sees you ascending, he gives you access. 00:16:18.460 --> 00:16:41.460 He sees your effort and he suddenly opens up a pathway for you to find out something about him, to connect to him in ways of worship, connect to his word and see things, have things in your life that are almost dying come back to life, bring hope where there is no hope, give you a fist sized cloud to expect rain. 00:16:41.460 --> 00:16:44.460 These things begin to happen. 00:16:44.460 --> 00:16:59.460 And when he does this, the other thing he makes sure is that limits, regulations, barriers are removed. 00:16:59.460 --> 00:17:06.460 He did this with Israel in Exodus 19. 00:17:06.460 --> 00:17:13.460 He removes limits, he removes regulations, he removes barriers so you have full access. 00:17:13.460 --> 00:17:18.460 And you will find this, he'll begin to say strange things to you. 00:17:18.460 --> 00:17:26.460 He goes to Abraham and the way he does it with Abraham is he turns to Abraham and he says, 00:17:26.460 --> 00:17:32.460 I will not hide things from you because I call you my friend. 00:17:32.460 --> 00:17:47.460 That is how God removes limits, regulations, barriers, invites you to ascend, descends and meets you with statements like that. 00:17:47.460 --> 00:17:51.460 It's his word that always creates pathways. 00:17:51.460 --> 00:17:54.460 It has always been his word that creates pathways. 00:17:54.460 --> 00:18:01.460 Be it the word in flesh Jesus or be it the word at the beginning of time when things were created or be it the word that is spoken so that you got saved 00:18:01.460 --> 00:18:08.460 or be it the word that is being spoken now so that it penetrates your spirit and begins to stir things up. 00:18:08.460 --> 00:18:18.460 That is how this works. 00:18:18.460 --> 00:18:23.460 What is the expectation that he has for me or expects of me? 00:18:23.460 --> 00:18:37.460 It is that I will enter in and that I will either fight the enemy that tries to prevent me or that I will wrestle with him 00:18:37.460 --> 00:18:58.460 as he tries to not prevent but provoke me so that in the bargain I can shake loose my inheritance for others. 00:18:58.460 --> 00:19:05.460 This is the only religion, this is the only kingdom where people get an inheritance for the sake of others. 00:19:05.460 --> 00:19:09.460 In every other relationship you get an inheritance so that you can use it. 00:19:09.460 --> 00:19:19.460 But this is the only kingdom or only religion or only father-son relationship where you receive an inheritance for others. 00:19:19.460 --> 00:19:25.460 Your inheritance is not for you to eat, your inheritance is for you to distribute. 00:19:25.460 --> 00:19:34.460 Why? Because this is one of those few fathers or the only father who has an inexhaustible inheritance for you. 00:19:34.460 --> 00:19:47.460 So keeping it to yourself only causes the grain to rot. 00:19:47.460 --> 00:20:03.460 The thing is guys, the days leading up to the third day are a time of concealment, a time of seclusion, a time of testing. 00:20:03.460 --> 00:20:09.460 A time of preparation. 00:20:09.460 --> 00:20:34.460 The days leading up to the third day is usually a time of seclusion, a time of testing, a time of preparation, a time of concealment. 00:20:34.460 --> 00:20:44.460 So you can see why this message is predictive because last week when I didn't know that God would have us deal with this topic, 00:20:44.460 --> 00:20:47.460 He was saying that the time of concealment is over. 00:20:47.460 --> 00:20:54.460 And this week I am saying that in Christ we are in the third day of our lives as a people. 00:20:54.460 --> 00:21:09.460 I don't even say as Acts 29 because as a people because this church is larger than just the group that turns up on Zoom for the AGM. 00:21:09.460 --> 00:21:15.460 The days leading up to the third day are a time of concealment, a time of seclusion, a time of testing, a time of preparation, 00:21:15.460 --> 00:21:26.460 as it was with Esther, as it was with Israel, as it was with many others that I can pull out as examples. 00:21:26.460 --> 00:21:35.460 But the third day, if that is what we were, and none of these things are bad, they're all good. 00:21:35.460 --> 00:21:43.460 Seclusion, concealment, testing, preparation, they're actually good. 00:21:43.460 --> 00:21:48.460 Things are manifested only after they develop in hiddenness. 00:21:48.460 --> 00:21:52.460 Things manifest only after they develop in hiddenness. 00:21:52.460 --> 00:22:08.460 Things that do not develop in hiddenness and are manifested without hiddenness are usually shallow or die early because there has not been enough maturity. 00:22:08.460 --> 00:22:16.460 One of the struggles that some of us go through, especially when it comes to kingdom work or God-related activity, 00:22:16.460 --> 00:22:29.460 is on one hand we want God and we want the people of God to recognize the abilities, the giftings and the talents we possess. 00:22:29.460 --> 00:22:35.460 And they are genuine valid talents, gifts, abilities, callings. 00:22:35.460 --> 00:22:43.460 And so we want people to recognize it and we want God to begin to use us in that. 00:22:43.460 --> 00:22:52.460 And if it is not recognized, we feel embittered about it and then we go off on our own and attempt things. 00:22:52.460 --> 00:23:04.460 And when we attempt things on our own, it doesn't work out and we come back to that place where we feel embittered because nothing worked out. 00:23:04.460 --> 00:23:10.460 I used to be like this. I knew the calling on my life, the gifts that I had, the abilities and the talents I had. 00:23:10.460 --> 00:23:16.460 I knew I was blessed in things that would really affect kingdom and church. 00:23:16.460 --> 00:23:24.460 But there needed to be a process through which it would become vintage or mature. 00:23:24.460 --> 00:23:28.460 And that was something that I couldn't wait for. 00:23:28.460 --> 00:23:38.460 And so when it wasn't recognized, I'd run off on my own and have some success but not what I knew God wanted to give me. 00:23:38.460 --> 00:23:46.460 And it would leave me embittered that it wasn't recognized. It would also leave me embittered that it wasn't working out. 00:23:46.460 --> 00:23:55.460 Some of you are in that place, especially some of you that are young are in that place. 00:23:55.460 --> 00:24:03.460 So you end up trying to free Egypt by killing an Egyptian, but then you also find that when Israelites are fighting and you go and help them, 00:24:03.460 --> 00:24:08.460 they turn and tattle-tail on you and threaten to report you to Pharaoh. 00:24:08.460 --> 00:24:19.460 Then you have to go through this 40-year process that could be much shorter had you started well in the backside of the Sinai till you have to confront the burning bush. 00:24:19.460 --> 00:24:25.460 You can do better. 00:24:25.460 --> 00:24:31.460 The young should not commit the same mistakes that the older do. 00:24:31.460 --> 00:24:39.460 The young should learn from the mistakes that the older ones have committed on your behalf so that you don't do the same thing. 00:24:39.460 --> 00:24:44.460 I believe Doris's son Maximo was watching me on live stream and he said, 00:24:44.460 --> 00:24:48.460 Man, look at his mustache. It's gone all white. 00:24:48.460 --> 00:24:56.460 I'd have a mind to start dying my mustache, but decided against it because then you'd hear me quoting things like, I die every day. 00:24:56.460 --> 00:25:02.460 And then that would be terrible. I mean, can you imagine the jokes that would come from there? 00:25:02.460 --> 00:25:06.460 I die every day. 00:25:06.460 --> 00:25:09.460 I die every day. 00:25:09.460 --> 00:25:11.460 Pardon? 00:25:11.460 --> 00:25:16.460 Michael's asking where's the groan?
