I'll write it up here so this stands out in your mind even as I'm talking. 00:02:04.000 --> 00:02:11.000 Today is the day of Pentecost and I am expecting the Holy Spirit to do something amongst us. 00:02:11.000 --> 00:02:19.000 Certainly I can't do it. Certainly you cannot make it happen. But certainly he can do it. 00:02:19.000 --> 00:02:29.000 His presence is here. He is so real, so vibrant, so full of life, so purposeful. There are things he wants to accomplish. 00:02:29.000 --> 00:02:37.000 I want to say yes to that. So if you are eager today, then you will be able to step into all that the Spirit of God wants for you. 00:02:37.000 --> 00:02:42.000 Is my sound okay? That's good? Alright. 00:02:42.000 --> 00:02:47.000 So there are three feasts, three major feasts that the people of Israel partake in. 00:02:47.000 --> 00:02:52.000 There is the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles. 00:02:52.000 --> 00:02:56.000 Those are the three major feasts that they partake in. 00:02:56.000 --> 00:03:04.000 The Feast of Unleavened Bread, this is celebrated in early spring. 00:03:04.000 --> 00:03:11.000 This is in spring, the second one, the Feast of Weeks. And Tabernacles, that's typically in the fall. 00:03:11.000 --> 00:03:16.000 So these are the three major feasts. And then what we are talking about today primarily is the Feast of Weeks. 00:03:16.000 --> 00:03:26.000 And we'll come to that. Feast of Unleavened Bread, that is part of the Passover celebration. 00:03:26.000 --> 00:03:32.000 So Passover is what? Passover is when God said, I'm going to bring the people of Israel out of captivity. 00:03:32.000 --> 00:03:36.000 And so on the eve of Exodus, there was a sparing of the people of Israel. 00:03:36.000 --> 00:03:41.000 On the eve of Exodus, there was a passing over the houses of Israel. 00:03:41.000 --> 00:03:45.000 And so Israelites were brought over. They continued to celebrate Passover. 00:03:45.000 --> 00:03:53.000 And let's go to Leviticus chapter 23. Today we're prepared to read, go through different verses. 00:03:53.000 --> 00:03:59.000 I'll take you through a few right now. Leviticus chapter 23, 15 and 16. 00:03:59.000 --> 00:04:05.000 I want to start from the Old Testament because it's so beautiful to see how it all comes together. 00:04:05.000 --> 00:04:12.000 It's amazing. Our God is so logical. He is so... numbers and the way things work. 00:04:12.000 --> 00:04:17.000 Man, He set it all up way before. So there's no... nothing happened by chance. 00:04:17.000 --> 00:04:22.000 Nothing happens because something occurred on a certain day. It was all planned right from the very beginning. 00:04:22.000 --> 00:04:28.000 So let's take a look at and see how that works. Leviticus chapter 23, 15 and 16. 00:04:28.000 --> 00:04:34.000 The whole passage, if you want to read that later, Leviticus chapter 23, it talks about the different feasts 00:04:34.000 --> 00:04:39.000 that the people of Israel participated in. Now we're going to read 15 and 16. 00:04:39.000 --> 00:04:46.000 Here is what it says. You shall count seven full weeks from the day after the Sabbath, 00:04:46.000 --> 00:04:49.000 from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave offering. 00:04:49.000 --> 00:04:56.000 So in other words, what God said is you have to count. There is Passover. Then there is a Sabbath day. 00:04:56.000 --> 00:05:02.000 And then you have to start counting a day after the Sabbath. Count seven weeks. 00:05:02.000 --> 00:05:09.000 Week one, two, three, four, five, six, seven. And this is Leviticus chapter 23. 00:05:09.000 --> 00:05:14.000 Way back in the day, God said count seven weeks. The first day after the Sabbath. 00:05:14.000 --> 00:05:20.000 So Passover is here. There is a Sabbath after. And the day after you start counting. 00:05:20.000 --> 00:05:29.000 So counting begins here, okay? What happened on the Passover? Jesus died for us. 00:05:29.000 --> 00:05:40.000 So the crucifixion happened on the Passover. And then two days later, three days later on a Sunday, what happened? 00:05:40.000 --> 00:05:48.000 Jesus rose up. So the very same day he said start counting what happened. Jesus resurrected. 00:05:48.000 --> 00:05:53.000 Okay? The day after the Sabbath on a Sunday, we celebrate resurrection. 00:05:53.000 --> 00:05:59.000 So Passover, feast of unleavened bread. That's in the early spring. That's that. 00:05:59.000 --> 00:06:08.000 And then God says keep tracking this seven full weeks. And that, this celebration right here is the feast of weeks. 00:06:08.000 --> 00:06:20.000 So it spans over seven weeks. And then he says on the 50th day, so a day after the Sabbath, seven times seven, 49 after seven weeks. 00:06:20.000 --> 00:06:30.000 On the 50th day is when you celebrate Pentecost. Pentecost means 50th. 00:06:30.000 --> 00:06:41.000 So on the 50th day, you celebrate Pentecost, which is also known as the feast of weeks because it's this whole celebration spans seven weeks plus. 00:06:41.000 --> 00:06:54.000 Yeah? Now the feast of weeks is a harvest festival. So during harvest, on the 50th day, once the harvest is done, they'll come with thankfulness, with hearts of gratitude. 00:06:54.000 --> 00:07:06.000 They'll wave an offering before the Lord and say we come. And on that day on Pentecost, Jesus celebrated together as a people. 00:07:06.000 --> 00:07:18.000 And this is the same day Acts chapter second happened. And so when we read on the day of Pentecost, the Pentecost that they had an idea of was very much Old Testament. 00:07:18.000 --> 00:07:25.000 When we read it, we could sometimes think on the day of Pentecost, on the day that the Holy Spirit visited them, they gathered together. 00:07:25.000 --> 00:07:32.000 They had no idea because when did Jesus ascend up into the heaven? On day 40. 00:07:32.000 --> 00:07:42.000 So on the 40th day, he went up to heaven and before he went to heaven, he said, wait in Jerusalem because I'm going to send you the promise of the father. 00:07:42.000 --> 00:07:47.000 The promise of the father is going to come upon you. He's a person. He'll come and then everything will change. 00:07:47.000 --> 00:07:55.000 I'm going to make you witnesses unto Judea, Samaria, the ends of the earth. Right? That's what he said. 00:07:55.000 --> 00:08:07.000 So first 50 days on that 50th day, Pentecost happened. So when we read that chapter, Acts chapter two, you've got to keep an eye out for this is everything that happened in the past. 00:08:07.000 --> 00:08:16.000 And when they gathered together, there was celebration happening outside. When they gathered together, they all they cared about and there is 120 of them. 00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:24.000 I want to emphasize on the fact that there were 120 of them in that upper room. We'll talk about why later. 00:08:24.000 --> 00:08:31.000 But they're all gathered there. They only know one thing, guys. What do they know? They just know this. 00:08:31.000 --> 00:08:43.000 That Jesus said the promise of the father is going to come. And they said, we'll get together. We'll huddle together. We'll pray and we'll wait. 00:08:43.000 --> 00:08:48.000 So that's what they did. And there is another word for if you're interested. 00:08:48.000 --> 00:09:05.000 This feast is also called Savut. S-A-V-O-U-T Savut. I looked up this. I didn't know. But that's what it it's also known as the Feast of Savut. 00:09:06.000 --> 00:09:14.000 So the 50th day feast then, the Feast of Harvest used to be an agricultural festival because they were harvesting. 00:09:14.000 --> 00:09:21.000 They came together. So that's one of the things I want us to look at. Now, I want you guys to just hear me. We don't we won't need to go into the verses. 00:09:21.000 --> 00:09:30.000 Genesis chapter 11 talks about what happened after the floods, after God restored the earth and wiped it clean. 00:09:30.000 --> 00:09:39.000 Genesis chapter 11 talks about mankind coming together. And here is what it says in Genesis chapter 11. It says people came together. 00:09:39.000 --> 00:09:48.000 They had one language and the same words. They came together and they said, let us make ourselves a city. 00:09:48.000 --> 00:09:56.000 Let us make ourselves a tower that touches the top of heavens. Let us do it for our namesake. 00:09:56.000 --> 00:10:04.000 I'm going verbatim exactly what it says in Genesis chapter 11. Let us do that for our namesake and let's come together. 00:10:04.000 --> 00:10:16.000 God then in the verses after that, I believe from verse four onwards, God says we can't let it happen because they have purpose something. 00:10:16.000 --> 00:10:26.000 I don't want them to do it because this is a wicked generation, a people unredeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ who is coming together. 00:10:26.000 --> 00:10:30.000 And what are they saying? We want to build something. We want to build a city. We want to build a tower. 00:10:30.000 --> 00:10:36.000 There are two things because when we when it says tower of Babel, we only think of it as a tower. No, there's a city and a tower. 00:10:36.000 --> 00:10:42.000 It's important. There's a city and a tower and they're building it. God said, no, they're unredeemed. 00:10:42.000 --> 00:10:50.000 They don't know my son yet. I won't let it happen. So God scatters them. They then go away with many different languages. 00:10:50.000 --> 00:10:57.000 Now go to Acts chapter two. In Acts chapter two, you see a people coming together. 00:10:57.000 --> 00:11:03.000 During the festival, there are people from every nation on earth in Jerusalem. 00:11:03.000 --> 00:11:09.000 It actually says that it says every nation on earth. We're not talking about just Jews. 00:11:09.000 --> 00:11:15.000 We're not talking about Arabians. We just mentioned there. We're not talking about just people from India, man. 00:11:15.000 --> 00:11:22.000 People from every country or nation on the face of earth was there in Jerusalem at that time. 00:11:22.000 --> 00:11:32.000 Now, on the day of Pentecost, the spirit comes, the spirit who is a person visits and the spirit who is a person fills the air. 00:11:32.000 --> 00:11:40.000 It fills the lives of 120 people in that upper room. As soon as that happens, one of the things that happens, 00:11:40.000 --> 00:11:49.000 one of the things that happens is they begin to speak in tongues and it says they were a one accord. 00:11:49.000 --> 00:11:56.000 So the same thing that they tried, man, tried to do in Genesis chapter 11 that God couldn't allow. 00:11:56.000 --> 00:12:01.000 God said you wanted to build yourself a city. You wanted to build yourself a tower. 00:12:01.000 --> 00:12:09.000 But guess what? I can't let you do it. But there will come a day, there will come a time when I will build my city amongst you, 00:12:09.000 --> 00:12:16.000 where I will build myself a city. It will be for my name's sake. It won't be for your name's sake. 00:12:16.000 --> 00:12:20.000 It will be for my name's sake. You'll have a new heart. You'll have a new spirit. 00:12:20.000 --> 00:12:27.000 And with the new heart and the new spirit that I'm putting inside of you, you will be a city to me. 00:12:27.000 --> 00:12:36.000 And you don't need to build a tower now to go touch the heavens because I am going to release to you my personal presence. 00:12:36.000 --> 00:12:42.000 I'm going to release to you the Holy Spirit, he who is a person. He is going to be with you. 00:12:42.000 --> 00:12:47.000 And you don't need to go touch the heavens because the heaven is already open for you. 00:12:47.000 --> 00:12:57.000 What man tried to do with the Tower of Babel, God reversed it in the best way possible in Acts chapter 2. 00:12:57.000 --> 00:13:07.000 It doesn't end there guys. In the Old Testament again, going back, Genesis 32, you see Moses up on Mount Sinai. 00:13:07.000 --> 00:13:13.000 Moses is up there and he is receiving templates from God. He is receiving instructions from God. 00:13:13.000 --> 00:13:23.000 Down below, Aaron and others, what they are doing is they have built a golden calf and they are worshipping. 00:13:23.000 --> 00:13:33.000 On that day, because of rebellion, there is 3,000 people who lost their lives. 3,000 God killed in rebellion. 00:13:33.000 --> 00:13:41.000 Heidi mentioned this earlier. Acts chapter 2. When the Spirit was given, on Mount Sinai, the law was given. 00:13:41.000 --> 00:13:48.000 When the Spirit was given in the New Testament, now you see 3,000 people being saved. 00:13:48.000 --> 00:13:56.000 It's not a play of numbers. This is a God who is so loving, so purposeful, who knows yesterday, today, tomorrow. 00:13:56.000 --> 00:14:04.000 He knows every single thing about every one of us and mankind. He is doing everything in his time, in his way and we will go with him. 00:14:04.000 --> 00:14:14.000 The God we serve is a mighty God. The God we serve is a God who knows everything. 00:14:14.000 --> 00:14:21.000 That's the history. The history is that day on Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came. 00:14:21.000 --> 00:14:34.000 I wonder how they were like. They had no reference point. They were 120 of them, but they didn't have a reference point. 00:14:34.000 --> 00:14:44.000 I want us to go through a few different things because, again, I don't really know where the Holy Spirit wants to go with us today. 00:14:44.000 --> 00:14:52.000 But I've got to trust that he will do something in us. Because, again, oh my goodness, this God who did all of this, 00:14:52.000 --> 00:15:01.000 do you think when we gather here, many different of us, that he will not be intentional, that he will not have a plan for us, 00:15:01.000 --> 00:15:08.000 that he will not have a desire for us to step into things? My goodness, he does. He does. He does. 00:15:08.000 --> 00:15:17.000 So be eager. Be eager because man cannot do it. He can. If you sit here with a desire to be touched by the presence of God, 00:15:17.000 --> 00:15:27.000 if you sit here with a desire to be filled by him like never before, he will do it. He will absolutely do it. 00:15:27.000 --> 00:15:34.000 Because man cannot do it. He can do it and it's his desire. You don't have to plead with him to do it. 00:15:34.000 --> 00:15:44.000 It's his desire, but you've got to work with him. So there is an open heaven and the Holy Spirit is a person. 00:15:44.000 --> 00:15:52.000 Last week, Jacob talked about how the Holy Spirit, he gives us the mind of Christ. 00:15:52.000 --> 00:15:59.000 When we allow him, he gives us the mind of Christ because who but the Spirit, as Don said, has access to the mind of God. 00:15:59.000 --> 00:16:07.000 And so he gives us the mind of Christ. So it's always been plan A. So everything that I talked about has always been plan A. 00:16:07.000 --> 00:16:15.000 It has always been the plan of God to do exactly what we heard so far. And so he decided, because keep in mind, 00:16:15.000 --> 00:16:24.000 when Moses left or Moses died, before that he laid his hands on Joshua. 00:16:24.000 --> 00:16:37.000 When Elijah left, he left the mantle over to Elisha. When Jesus left, he did not have a Joshua. He did not have an Elijah. 00:16:37.000 --> 00:16:45.000 He had a people and he left his mantle, in other words, but even better than the mantle, he left his spirit. 00:16:45.000 --> 00:16:57.000 He said, I'm going to send you my spirit, which is why the community is important because what needs to be achieved on earth cannot be done by a man. 00:16:57.000 --> 00:17:06.000 It cannot be done by a woman. It can only be achieved by a people. So it doesn't matter how good Joshua is. 00:17:06.000 --> 00:17:16.000 It doesn't matter how well Elijah or Elisha runs with the anointing. It's not enough. You need to have a people. 00:17:16.000 --> 00:17:26.000 And the 120 that were gathered there was the first church. And so as we gather here, it's perfect recipe because this is the body. 00:17:26.000 --> 00:17:37.000 And he likes working the things he wants to work through his body, which is why man at any given time, whenever possible, I need to practice this myself. 00:17:37.000 --> 00:17:46.000 Whenever there is an opportunity to come together as a people, do it. Don't miss out. Never miss out. 00:17:46.000 --> 00:17:54.000 Whenever there is an opportunity to be together with his people, do it. He relishes. He enjoys. Do it. 00:17:54.000 --> 00:18:03.000 I want us to go to another words, second Corinthians, chapter three, three to six, second Corinthians, chapter three, three to six. 00:18:03.000 --> 00:18:13.000 Just the last words, OK, not that maybe five and six, not that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything is coming from us, 00:18:13.000 --> 00:18:22.000 but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us sufficient to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the spirit. 00:18:23.000 --> 00:18:35.000 And what does it say? For the letter kills, but the spirit gives life. The letter on Mount Sinai, it killed, but the spirit in Acts chapter two gave life. 00:18:35.000 --> 00:18:44.000 And so for us, regardless of where we stand, where we sit, where we are at in our lives, if there are areas where you need life, 00:18:45.000 --> 00:18:54.000 the only person who can bring life is the Holy Spirit, and he can bring it. He does it. This is almost a mandate for the Holy Spirit. 00:18:54.000 --> 00:19:05.000 See, when in the Old Testament, the point person of God was the father, the triune God, the point person in the Old Testament was the father. 00:19:05.000 --> 00:19:10.000 During Jesus's days in the gospel, the point person is the father. 00:19:10.000 --> 00:19:22.000 During Jesus's days in the gospel, the point person is Jesus. In the days of the church, which we now occupy, the point person on earth is the Holy Spirit. 00:19:22.000 --> 00:19:34.000 So it's amazing, and I've been thinking about it. It's amazing how when we talk, it's so easy to talk to the father and the son. 00:19:34.000 --> 00:19:42.000 And Jacob alluded to it this last week, and I thought about it because how do I operate when I think, when I talk, who do I talk with? 00:19:42.000 --> 00:19:53.000 And I found out for myself that I talk a lot with the father. There are times when I talk with Jesus, I don't intentionally talk with the Holy Spirit as much as I should. 00:19:53.000 --> 00:20:01.000 But my goodness, think about this. He is the one from the Godhead today on earth assigned for us. 00:20:01.000 --> 00:20:07.000 He said, I'm going to come. The father sent him to us. So then there is something missing there. 00:20:07.000 --> 00:20:15.000 There is something we can grow in. There is something that the Holy Spirit is saying even during this time, if you want, I'll give you a new start. 00:20:15.000 --> 00:20:22.000 If you want and desire, I'll show you how to do this. So here are a few things I want us to think about, okay? 00:20:22.000 --> 00:20:30.000 We only have about 30 minutes. So the first one is the fullness of the Holy Spirit is for every believer. 00:20:30.000 --> 00:20:36.000 The fullness of the Holy Spirit is for every believer. 00:20:36.000 --> 00:20:41.000 I grew up in a Pentecostal church. I listened to Pentecostal sermons all my life. 00:20:41.000 --> 00:20:46.000 And there was a point in my life I thought that maybe I don't have all of the Holy Spirit. 00:20:46.000 --> 00:20:49.000 Maybe I need to do some stuff to get a little more of the Holy Spirit. 00:20:49.000 --> 00:20:57.000 Maybe my anointing is this much, but Dilna's anointing is this much. And the difference between, this is, please don't write it down. This is my story. 00:20:57.000 --> 00:21:02.000 Don't write it down. So this is my anointing is this much, Dilna's anointing is here. 00:21:02.000 --> 00:21:09.000 So obviously I need, I need, you know, I don't have the Holy Spirit fully. There's something wrong with me. 00:21:09.000 --> 00:21:16.000 I used to have these thoughts when you study the Bible, when you study the scripture, when you know the person of Holy Spirit. 00:21:16.000 --> 00:21:25.000 Here is one thing. Every single person sitting here, if you are a believer of Jesus Christ, you have the fullness of the Spirit already in you. 00:21:25.000 --> 00:21:31.000 That is the foundation from where we began. But that's only the foundation. 00:21:31.000 --> 00:21:35.000 Every believer has the fullness of the Holy Spirit in them. 00:21:35.000 --> 00:21:44.000 So the upper room and the 120 that I talked about, this 120 is very important because this 120 included men. 00:21:44.000 --> 00:21:51.000 This 120 included women. This 120 included old. This 120 included young. 00:21:51.000 --> 00:21:57.000 This 120 included married. This 120 included single. This 120 included orphans. 00:21:57.000 --> 00:22:04.000 This 120 included parents. It didn't matter. It was 120. There is a reason we don't see in the Old Testament. 00:22:04.000 --> 00:22:12.000 They wrote down all the names. The genealogy. The same writers could have written all 120 names that they chose to, but it does not matter. 00:22:12.000 --> 00:22:18.000 What matters, we know who the disciples who were there, but what matters is it was for the church. 00:22:18.000 --> 00:22:23.000 So the fullness therefore is for all of us. And it doesn't matter where we stand. 00:22:23.000 --> 00:22:28.000 Can you think about it? Because sometimes we have to think through what happened then. 00:22:28.000 --> 00:22:36.000 It was not a fun time for them. They were persecuted. They were running away. 00:22:36.000 --> 00:22:43.000 And so there were some who were right on top of their game. Peter already had a few hiccups. 00:22:43.000 --> 00:22:48.000 So after Jesus having spent some time with him and helping him understand everything that happened, 00:22:48.000 --> 00:22:54.000 Peter probably by the time he got there, because that's why he speaks more often than others, and he had the keys of the kingdom, 00:22:54.000 --> 00:23:01.000 Peter was ready and he was talking. But not all 120 were like that. 00:23:01.000 --> 00:23:07.000 You had people who were weak. You had people who were crying more than the others. 00:23:07.000 --> 00:23:11.000 Not that crying is a symbol of weakness, but that they were going through a difficult time. 00:23:11.000 --> 00:23:16.000 And you had people who were weak. That's important. 00:23:16.000 --> 00:23:22.000 You had people who were not on the top of their game. 00:23:22.000 --> 00:23:29.000 So in strength and in weakness, he is the same. 00:23:29.000 --> 00:23:36.000 It doesn't matter if you're walking in victory or you're not. His power is the same. 00:23:36.000 --> 00:23:43.000 It doesn't matter if you're old or young. He's the same. 00:23:43.000 --> 00:23:50.000 In Acts chapter one, you see Peter speaking up and you see Peter saying, 00:23:50.000 --> 00:23:54.000 we need to have a substitute, so to speak, in this gang of apostles. 00:23:54.000 --> 00:24:02.000 We need to have someone replacing Judas. And so they cast the lords and Matthias is the one selected. 00:24:02.000 --> 00:24:06.000 And Matthias takes the place of Judas. 00:24:06.000 --> 00:24:15.000 There's this other guy though we don't talk about much, Justice, or his name is Joseph or Justice. 00:24:15.000 --> 00:24:21.000 I hope he hung around. I hope he hung around. 00:24:21.000 --> 00:24:29.000 Because if he did hang around, his life changed too. 00:24:29.000 --> 00:24:35.000 See, the thing is guys, what the Spirit gives is not the selection of man. 00:24:35.000 --> 00:24:39.000 What the Spirit gives is what God wants to give you. 00:24:39.000 --> 00:24:46.000 And it is always in plenty. I don't have the gift of tongues. 00:26:14.000 --> 00:26:20.000 So there should be something wrong with me. 00:26:20.000 --> 00:26:27.000 I used to think like that. And what happened with me is we had a, you know, every night we would sit down and pray together at home. 00:26:27.000 --> 00:26:31.000 And we were having one of the everyday prayers at home together. 00:26:31.000 --> 00:26:38.000 And on a random day, I don't even remember the date, while we, the three of us are sitting down together, Dad was working. 00:26:38.000 --> 00:26:41.000 I received the gift of tongues. 00:26:41.000 --> 00:26:45.000 But what the Holy Spirit told me or taught me during that time is, my goodness, 00:26:45.000 --> 00:26:50.000 it doesn't happen in one way, shape or form that you think it happens. 00:26:50.000 --> 00:26:53.000 It happens when you want it, you receive it. 00:26:53.000 --> 00:26:57.000 And so I do want to take a minute about the gift of tongues and talk about the gift of tongues. 00:26:57.000 --> 00:27:02.000 It is a gift to aspire for. 00:27:02.000 --> 00:27:04.000 It's a great gift to have. 00:27:04.000 --> 00:27:11.000 It is not, I do know, coming from a circle that I came from, there's a lot of good things about Pentecostal churches. 00:27:11.000 --> 00:27:14.000 So don't think of what I'm saying as a wrong thing. 00:27:14.000 --> 00:27:19.000 But you can, I have seen and know enough people who speak in the gift of tongue, with the gift of tongues, 00:27:19.000 --> 00:27:22.000 but don't live a life that aligns with the Spirit. 00:27:22.000 --> 00:27:25.000 And that's the truth for every living, everything. 00:27:25.000 --> 00:27:31.000 So the fact that you have some gifts that may be misused doesn't make the gift a bad gift. 00:27:31.000 --> 00:27:35.000 The gift of tongues is something to aspire for. 00:27:35.000 --> 00:27:41.000 And so if anyone listening to me has been thinking about it, has been pondering on it, has been desiring it, 00:27:41.000 --> 00:27:44.000 let these words that I speak cement it in your heart. 00:27:44.000 --> 00:27:46.000 Go for it. 00:27:46.000 --> 00:27:47.000 It's a good thing. 00:27:47.000 --> 00:27:49.000 It's an important gift to have. 00:27:49.000 --> 00:27:52.000 When you have it, you have an edge. 00:27:52.000 --> 00:27:54.000 You do have an edge. 00:27:54.000 --> 00:27:57.000 And we'll talk about those things another time. 00:27:57.000 --> 00:27:59.000 So the Holy Spirit is not the gift. 00:27:59.000 --> 00:28:01.000 He is the life giver. 00:28:01.000 --> 00:28:05.000 And so we cannot reduce him to being a gift giver. 00:28:05.000 --> 00:28:07.000 He is not a gift giver. 00:28:07.000 --> 00:28:10.000 That's not his sole identity. 00:28:10.000 --> of the believers, anyone who believes in Christ, 00:28:25.000 --> 00:28:27.000 they have the fullness of the Holy Spirit. 00:28:27.000 --> 00:28:30.000 Number two, probably the most important one. 00:28:30.000 --> 00:28:34.000 Not all who receive the Spirit walk in the Spirit. 00:28:34.000 --> 00:28:39.000 Not all who receive the Spirit walk in the Spirit. 00:28:40.000 --> 00:28:45.000 Not all who receive the Spirit walk in the Spirit. 00:28:46.000 --> 00:28:49.000 Paul, when he's writing to the Corinthian church, 00:28:49.000 --> 00:28:53.000 he went to Corinth about 50 AD. 00:28:53.000 --> 00:28:55.000 That's when he went there for the first time. 00:28:55.000 --> 00:28:57.000 He spent time with them. 00:28:57.000 --> 00:29:01.000 He converted a whole lot of them who were practicing different things. 00:29:01.000 --> 00:29:03.000 They became believers. 00:29:03.000 --> 00:29:07.000 And in 1 Corinthians chapter 3, 1 to 3, you don't need to read it. 00:29:07.000 --> 00:29:09.000 You can read it later if you want. 00:29:09.000 --> 00:29:11.000 He was there from 50 AD onwards. 00:29:11.000 --> 00:29:16.000 In 55 AD, five years later, this is what Paul writes. 00:29:16.000 --> 00:29:17.000 He wrote, 00:29:17.000 --> 00:29:21.000 But I, brothers, could not address you as spiritual people, 00:29:21.000 --> 00:29:25.000 but as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ. 00:29:25.000 --> 00:29:28.000 But I fed you with milk, not solid food. 00:29:28.000 --> 00:29:31.000 For you were not ready for it. 00:29:31.000 --> 00:29:36.000 And even now you're not yet ready, for you are still of the flesh. 00:29:36.000 --> 00:29:40.000 So there was five years between when he first went there 00:29:40.000 --> 00:29:42.000 and when he's writing this. 00:29:42.000 --> 00:29:45.000 And he's telling the church in Corinth, 00:29:45.000 --> 00:29:48.000 you are still operating in the flesh. 00:29:48.000 --> 00:29:51.000 You have the fullness of the Spirit inside you, 00:29:51.000 --> 00:29:54.000 but you're still operating in the flesh, so you're not mature. 00:29:56.000 --> 00:29:59.000 That is where the gap is. 00:29:59.000 --> 00:30:02.000 It's not that we don't have the Holy Spirit. 00:30:02.000 --> 00:30:06.000 If we find ourselves at places, in times, where we say, 00:30:06.000 --> 00:30:08.000 you know what, I want more of him, 00:30:08.000 --> 00:30:10.000 really what you're saying is, 00:30:10.000 --> 00:30:14.000 I want to activate what he has given me already. 00:30:14.000 --> 00:30:16.000 I want to grow in it more. 00:30:16.000 --> 00:30:19.000 Because it's more about us walking. 00:30:19.000 --> 00:30:22.000 And there are times when God's specific anointing comes upon you 00:30:22.000 --> 00:30:24.000 for very specific purposes, 00:30:24.000 --> 00:30:27.000 very specific things that he wants you to do, 00:30:27.000 --> 00:30:30.000 places you need to go to. 00:30:30.000 --> 00:30:32.000 That's not what I'm talking about. 00:30:32.000 --> 00:30:36.000 I'm simply talking about the fact that the fullness of the Holy Spirit 00:30:36.000 --> 00:30:38.000 dwells inside all of us. 00:30:38.000 --> 00:30:43.000 And that it is up to us to, whether we walk in it or not. 00:30:45.000 --> 00:30:48.000 Back in India, when we were growing up, 00:30:48.000 --> 00:30:53.000 we had these, like the cable TV back then had an antenna on the roof, right? 00:30:53.000 --> 00:30:57.000 And what happens with the antenna? 00:30:57.000 --> 00:31:00.000 It doesn't matter if the TV is turned on, 00:31:00.000 --> 00:31:03.000 it doesn't matter if the receiver is on, 00:31:03.000 --> 00:31:08.000 if the antenna is not working, you ain't seeing anything on the TV. 00:31:10.000 --> 00:31:12.000 And I used to hate the grains. 00:31:12.000 --> 00:31:14.000 I don't know if you've seen the grains. 00:31:14.000 --> 00:31:16.000 Is that what you guys call it? 00:31:16.000 --> 00:31:18.000 Yeah, well, the grains. 00:31:18.000 --> 00:31:20.000 I used to hate the sound of it. 00:31:20.000 --> 00:31:22.000 It comes with the sound too. 00:31:22.000 --> 00:31:24.000 See, that's what happens sometimes. 00:31:24.000 --> 00:31:28.000 The flesh is turned on, the soul is turned on, 00:31:28.000 --> 00:31:33.000 but if the antenna, if the spirit that we have, 00:31:33.000 --> 00:31:36.000 who is inside us, and life-giving spirit, 00:31:36.000 --> 00:31:40.000 if we are not living in the spirit, we walk in the flesh. 00:31:41.000 --> 00:31:43.000 So the question really only is, 00:31:43.000 --> 00:31:45.000 the spirit that we already have, 00:31:45.000 --> 00:31:47.000 because a few of us have been talking to this person 00:31:47.000 --> 00:31:49.000 over the last couple of weeks, 00:31:49.000 --> 00:31:52.000 and he's been asking different questions about, you know, 00:31:52.000 --> 00:31:54.000 how does Christianity work, 00:31:54.000 --> 00:31:59.000 and why is it that Jesus was a sacrifice for mankind? 00:31:59.000 --> 00:32:02.000 And one of the things that you always go back to 00:32:02.000 --> 00:32:06.000 is we are made of soul, flesh, spirit. 00:32:07.000 --> 00:32:11.000 It's so foundational to everything we ever talk about 00:32:11.000 --> 00:32:15.000 and ever will talk about, that we are spirit. 00:32:16.000 --> 00:32:19.000 And so if I'm not in tune with the spirit, 00:32:19.000 --> 00:32:21.000 then I walk in the flesh. 00:32:22.000 --> 00:32:27.000 Number three, the Holy Spirit elevates my living, 00:32:27.000 --> 00:32:31.000 or elevates your living, from flesh to spirit. 00:32:32.000 --> 00:32:37.000 The Holy Spirit elevates your living from flesh to spirit. 00:32:38.000 --> 00:32:41.000 If I am limited to my five senses, 00:32:41.000 --> 00:32:43.000 I cannot walk with the spirit. 00:32:43.000 --> 00:32:47.000 If I am limited to my five senses on earth, 00:32:47.000 --> 00:32:49.000 I cannot walk in the spirit. 00:32:49.000 --> 00:32:51.000 For me to walk in the spirit, 00:32:51.000 --> 00:32:55.000 for my life to be elevated to the realm of the spirit, 00:32:55.000 --> 00:33:00.000 for my life to be activated in the way it needs to be activated, 00:33:00.000 --> 00:33:03.000 I've got to be aware of the Holy Spirit. 00:33:03.000 --> 00:33:06.000 I've got to have, I've got to live a life where 00:33:06.000 --> 00:33:09.000 I know that primarily I'm a spirit man, 00:33:09.000 --> 00:33:13.000 and primarily I have the Holy Spirit living inside of me. 00:33:13.000 --> 00:33:18.000 And so if I do, then it's natural for me to see, hear, 00:33:18.000 --> 00:33:22.000 imagine, think everything that the Holy Spirit shows. 00:33:22.000 --> 00:33:25.000 This is why in 1 Corinthians chapter two, verse nine, 00:33:25.000 --> 00:33:28.000 go there, this verse we'll read together, 00:33:28.000 --> 00:33:31.000 1 Corinthians chapter two, verse nine, 00:33:31.000 --> 00:33:33.000 go there, this verse we'll read together, 00:33:33.000 --> 00:33:36.000 1 Corinthians chapter two, verse nine, 00:33:49.000 --> 00:33:51.000 it says, But as it is written, 00:33:51.000 --> 00:33:55.000 What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, 00:33:55.000 --> 00:33:57.000 nor the heart of man imagined, 00:33:57.000 --> 00:34:00.000 what God has prepared for those who love him, 00:34:00.000 --> 00:34:04.000 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit, 00:34:04.000 --> 00:34:08.000 for the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 00:34:12.000 --> 00:34:16.000 So if I don't have a lifestyle where 00:34:18.000 --> 00:34:20.000 I'm walking with the spirit, 00:34:20.000 --> 00:34:25.000 where my antenna is not turned on, 00:34:25.000 --> 00:34:27.000 if it's not powered, 00:34:27.000 --> 00:34:31.000 the fact that I have an antenna doesn't make any difference, 00:34:31.000 --> 00:34:35.000 unless I am tuned in to what is happening. 00:34:37.000 --> 00:34:42.000 This is why one person sees a fist-sized cloud, 00:34:42.000 --> 00:34:45.000 but another person sees rain coming. 00:34:45.000 --> 00:34:52.000 This is why on one hand you see things in the natural, 00:34:52.000 --> 00:34:56.000 but on the other hand the Holy Spirit is showing you something completely different. 00:34:56.000 --> 00:34:58.000 If I am limited to my senses, 00:34:58.000 --> 00:35:02.000 I will not be able to live the life that is allotted for me. 00:35:02.000 --> 00:35:06.000 And so guys, with all of what we are hearing and talking about the Holy Spirit, 00:35:06.000 --> 00:35:07.000 this is foundational. 00:35:07.000 --> 00:35:10.000 The foundational thing is simply this, 00:35:10.000 --> 00:35:13.000 that we need to turn our antenna on, 00:35:13.000 --> 00:35:16.000 that we have the antenna already, 00:35:16.000 --> 00:35:18.000 we've got to make sure it's powered on, 00:35:18.000 --> 00:35:21.000 we've got to make sure that we listen to the Spirit. 00:35:22.000 --> 00:35:27.000 This is why David, everyone in the camp of Israel, saw Goliath. 00:35:27.000 --> 00:35:30.000 David did not see a Goliath. 00:35:30.000 --> 00:35:34.000 David saw a Philistine coming in the name of his gods. 00:35:34.000 --> 00:35:36.000 What you see is important, 00:35:36.000 --> 00:35:39.000 because if all you are seeing is Goliath, 00:35:39.000 --> 00:35:42.000 you are going against Goliath. 00:35:42.000 --> 00:35:44.000 David did not go against Goliath. 00:35:44.000 --> 00:35:49.000 David went against a Philistine who came in the name of his gods. 00:35:50.000 --> 00:35:55.000 This is why Ezekiel is taken into the valley, 00:35:55.000 --> 00:36:00.000 and Ezekiel sees more than dry bones. 00:36:00.000 --> 00:36:03.000 Ezekiel is able to see an army. 00:36:03.000 --> 00:36:09.000 So there is a difference between seeing in the flesh and seeing in the Spirit. 00:36:09.000 --> 00:36:15.000 This is why for Jesus, when he got baptized and the Spirit came down, 00:36:15.000 --> 00:36:17.000 Jesus heard, 00:36:17.000 --> 00:36:20.000 You are my son in whom I am well pleased. 00:36:20.000 --> 00:36:24.000 Which is why at the same time there were a few who just heard a thunder. 00:36:26.000 --> 00:36:31.000 This is why Stephen, in Acts chapter 8 or so, 00:36:31.000 --> 00:36:34.000 this is why Stephen heard, 00:36:35.000 --> 00:36:37.000 Well done, faithful servant. 00:36:37.000 --> 00:36:42.000 This is why others who were throwing stones at him could not comprehend why this guy is like this. 00:36:42.000 --> 00:36:44.000 It says he was full of the Spirit. 00:36:45.000 --> 00:36:47.000 He was full of the Spirit. 00:36:47.000 --> 00:36:49.000 He didn't see the stones coming at him. 00:36:49.000 --> 00:36:51.000 He didn't hear what was spoken of him. 00:36:51.000 --> 00:36:57.000 But he saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 00:36:59.000 --> 00:37:01.000 It is important. 00:37:03.000 --> 00:37:07.000 With him, you can imagine, you can think, you can dream. 00:37:07.000 --> 00:37:12.000 This is why Paul knew already that it doesn't matter what people say, do, 00:37:12.000 --> 00:37:16.000 all of the oppression, the opposition, I am meant to go to Rome. 00:37:17.000 --> 00:37:19.000 Until I get there, nothing can stop me. 00:37:19.000 --> 00:37:22.000 No king can stop me. No soldiers can stop me. 00:37:22.000 --> 00:37:25.000 No power can stop me. No principality can stop me. 00:37:25.000 --> 00:37:27.000 I have been given a vision. 00:37:27.000 --> 00:37:30.000 I have seen what he wants me to do. 00:37:30.000 --> 00:37:32.000 And so I will go there. 00:37:32.000 --> 00:37:34.000 You are seeing beyond the physical. 00:37:34.000 --> 00:37:38.000 This is why Patmos, where John was supposed to die, 00:37:39.000 --> 00:37:41.000 he got a revelation. 00:37:41.000 --> 00:37:46.000 And the very place of death became life, not just for him, but for millions who came after. 00:37:49.000 --> 00:37:51.000 With the Spirit, you dream dreams. 00:37:52.000 --> 00:37:54.000 With the Spirit, you prophesy. 00:37:54.000 --> 00:37:58.000 You look at situations that aren't the way they should be. 00:37:58.000 --> 00:38:01.000 And the Holy Spirit inside you rises up. 00:38:01.000 --> 00:38:03.000 The Holy Spirit inside of you 00:38:05.000 --> 00:38:09.000 causes you to speak the very words he hears from the Father. 00:38:09.000 --> 00:38:12.000 He causes you to speak it into the natural. 00:38:12.000 --> 00:38:17.000 And everything in the natural turns, changes, twists, whatever needs to happen happens, 00:38:17.000 --> 00:38:23.000 so that everything that is wanted and desired for in heaven accomplishes itself on earth. 00:38:24.000 --> 00:38:26.000 That's how it works. 00:38:26.000 --> 00:38:30.000 So then I can see, I can hear, I can dream, I can think differently. 00:38:31.000 --> 00:38:33.000 I'm not limited to my five senses. 00:38:33.000 --> 00:38:37.000 And so if you desire this, even right now, ask. 00:38:37.000 --> 00:38:41.000 If you desire another level in this, ask. 00:38:42.000 --> 00:38:45.000 Don't settle for days when you're operating so well. 00:38:46.000 --> 00:38:50.000 Don't wait for weeks when you're doing so well in the Spirit. 00:38:50.000 --> 00:38:52.000 This is life 24-7. 00:38:53.000 --> 00:38:55.000 That is what we are going after. 00:38:56.000 --> 00:38:58.000 We are going after a new lifestyle. 00:38:58.000 --> 00:39:01.000 With this whole teaching about Pentecost, what Jacob has been talking about, 00:39:01.000 --> 00:39:04.000 the whole point is we will all look very different. 00:39:05.000 --> 00:39:11.000 When you wake up, all of a sudden the Holy Spirit brings right into your mind a face, 00:39:11.000 --> 00:39:13.000 because he's been waiting while you were sleeping. 00:39:15.000 --> 00:39:20.000 Before you go to bed, just when you thought it's done, he reminds you of something. 00:39:20.000 --> 00:39:26.000 This is why all of a sudden there are cities and nations and villages and people 00:39:26.000 --> 00:39:29.000 and people groups that come into your mind. 00:39:29.000 --> 00:39:31.000 You do not understand why. 00:39:31.000 --> 00:39:33.000 Why? Because your antenna is on. 00:39:33.000 --> 00:39:35.000 You are hearing. 00:39:35.000 --> 00:39:39.000 And so when you hear it, you look to the person right next to you 00:39:39.000 --> 00:39:43.000 or you look to the situation right next to you, amen. 00:39:43.000 --> 00:39:45.000 That's wrong programming. 00:39:45.000 --> 00:39:47.000 If you're in the body, great. 00:39:47.000 --> 00:39:50.000 But you go outside and look at what he told you and look around, 00:39:50.000 --> 00:39:52.000 it's not going to be the same. 00:39:52.000 --> 00:39:56.000 But the very thing you heard is what's supposed to change what is around you. 00:39:58.000 --> 00:40:00.000 Three or four, next. 00:40:01.000 --> 00:40:03.000 He is your helper. 00:40:03.000 --> 00:40:06.000 The Holy Spirit is your helper. with you guys too. 00:40:34.000 --> 00:40:38.000 When I first moved to Vancouver and then I got a job and stuff, 00:40:38.000 --> 00:40:41.000 the work, the place I go to for work is in Surrey. 00:40:41.000 --> 00:40:42.000 I live in Vancouver. 00:40:42.000 --> 00:40:44.000 I haven't been to Surrey before. 00:40:45.000 --> 00:40:47.000 And I start driving to Surrey every day. 00:40:47.000 --> 00:40:48.000 I do that for about a year. 00:40:49.000 --> 00:40:53.000 And then one day on my way back, there is a heavy traffic jam. 00:40:53.000 --> 00:40:57.000 I can't go back home in the same route that I usually take. 00:40:57.000 --> 00:40:59.000 And then I quickly remember, oh, I've got a GPS. 00:40:59.000 --> 00:41:05.000 I turn the GPS thing on, put it there, and I make my way back home. 00:41:05.000 --> 00:41:08.000 And I realized it took me 10 minutes less than usual. 00:41:11.000 --> 00:41:15.000 Only after a year and a half did I find out that over the last year and a half, 00:41:15.000 --> 00:41:20.000 I've been taking a road from Surrey back to Vancouver that is way longer than anyone else takes. 00:41:21.000 --> 00:41:24.000 But it did not matter because I had a GPS in my car. 00:41:24.000 --> 00:41:25.000 It was never turned on. 00:41:27.000 --> 00:41:32.000 When I turned the GPS on, the GPS told me there is an easier way to go. 00:41:32.000 --> 00:41:34.000 There is a faster way to get back to Vancouver. 00:41:37.000 --> 00:41:38.000 He is your helper. 00:41:39.000 --> 00:41:42.000 But the fact that he is your helper ain't enough. 00:41:42.000 --> 00:41:44.000 You've got to ask for his help. 00:41:48.000 --> 00:41:54.000 When I go and watch, not so much anymore, but when I have watched White Cabs games at BC Place, 00:41:57.000 --> 00:42:02.000
