00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:04.000
Okay, so guys I'm starting again.

00:00:04.000 --> 00:00:08.000
Signs and Wonders Part 2.

00:00:08.000 --> 00:00:12.000
So the first miracle that Jesus did was

00:00:12.000 --> 00:00:16.000
at the wedding in Cana. And so the first miracle

00:00:16.000 --> 00:00:20.000
was John Chapter 2, verse 1 to 11. And when you look at the first miracle

00:00:20.000 --> 00:00:24.000
there was a need at the time and Jesus

00:00:24.000 --> 00:00:28.000
wasn't actually ready. I'm just bringing these points up

00:00:28.000 --> 00:00:32.000
to show the kind of God we have and the willingness

00:00:32.000 --> 00:00:36.000
he has to do miracles, signs and wonders.

00:00:36.000 --> 00:00:40.000
We somehow have been convinced because either of

00:00:40.000 --> 00:00:44.000
we have been convinced because of a lack of miracles and signs and wonders

00:00:44.000 --> 00:00:48.000
in our lives around us and through churches coming up

00:00:48.000 --> 00:00:52.000
with continuous theologies to tell you why things don't work.

00:00:52.000 --> 00:00:56.000
We sometimes forget how willing this God is.

00:00:58.000 --> 00:01:02.000
To engage in signs, miracles and wonders.

00:01:02.000 --> 00:01:06.000
So when you look at John Chapter 2, verse 1 to 11, you see that

00:01:06.000 --> 00:01:10.000
1. There was a need.

00:01:10.000 --> 00:01:14.000
2. The need was the kind

00:01:14.000 --> 00:01:18.000
that would cause embarrassment

00:01:18.000 --> 00:01:22.000
and loss of dignity.

00:01:22.000 --> 00:01:26.000
So it was not a question of life and death, though embarrassment

00:01:26.000 --> 00:01:30.000
and dignity was pretty important in that culture.

00:01:30.000 --> 00:01:34.000
3. Jesus was not ready.

00:01:38.000 --> 00:01:42.000
It's not my time, he said. He wasn't ready.

00:01:42.000 --> 00:01:46.000
And yet, to spare a family

00:01:46.000 --> 00:01:50.000
embarrassment and a loss of dignity

00:01:50.000 --> 00:01:54.000
Jesus performs a miracle. And I would say to you, he only did what

00:01:54.000 --> 00:01:58.000
I saw his father doing. And so in the process, he restores

00:01:58.000 --> 00:02:02.000
to this family

00:02:02.000 --> 00:02:06.000
restores lack, as in he makes up for the lack

00:02:06.000 --> 00:02:10.000
he restores dignity

00:02:10.000 --> 00:02:14.000
he restores shortfall

00:02:14.000 --> 00:02:18.000
shortfall as in

00:02:18.000 --> 00:02:22.000
when you don't have

00:02:22.000 --> 00:02:26.000
enough, you don't know what is enough. It's insufficient.

00:02:26.000 --> 00:02:30.000
So he restores shortfall. And in the process

00:02:30.000 --> 00:02:34.000
he restores, he shows 5 of his disciples

00:02:34.000 --> 00:02:38.000
at this stage in his life, he only had 5 disciples.

00:02:38.000 --> 00:02:42.000
For the first time, his 5 disciples see a miracle

00:02:42.000 --> 00:02:46.000
and they actually end up believing.

00:02:46.000 --> 00:02:50.000
That's how verse 11 ends. That they actually end up believing.

00:02:50.000 --> 00:02:54.000
That's the first miracle.

00:02:54.000 --> 00:02:58.000
I want us to understand how willing God is to do

00:02:58.000 --> 00:03:02.000
miracles, signs and wonders.

00:03:02.000 --> 00:03:06.000
Guys, these are things I'm struggling with.

00:03:06.000 --> 00:03:10.000
I'm struggling with.

00:03:10.000 --> 00:03:14.000
How have we reached a place where we

00:03:14.000 --> 00:03:18.000
struggle with a God who does signs, miracles and wonders?

00:03:18.000 --> 00:03:22.000
I was checking online. And every place

00:03:22.000 --> 00:03:26.000
I check online, every article ends

00:03:26.000 --> 00:03:30.000
the same way. Yes, God can do miracles, but he is sovereign.

00:03:30.000 --> 00:03:34.000
Yes, God can do miracles, but that ended with the apostles.

00:03:34.000 --> 00:03:38.000
Yes, God can do miracles, but we shouldn't expect it every time.

00:03:38.000 --> 00:03:42.000
Yes, God can do miracles, but we live in a earth that is

00:03:42.000 --> 00:03:46.000
sick and dying and suffering. Yes, God can do miracles,

00:03:46.000 --> 00:03:50.000
but our trust should not be in miracles. Yes, God can do miracles, but

00:03:50.000 --> 00:03:54.000
the greatest miracle is salvation. Yes, God can do miracles, but let us not

00:03:54.000 --> 00:03:58.000
become like a wicked and adulterous generation. There's so much

00:03:58.000 --> 00:04:02.000
of it that you think to yourself, really, at the end of the day, does God

00:04:02.000 --> 00:04:06.000
do it or doesn't he?

00:04:06.000 --> 00:04:10.000
And when you look at the stories, it seems to present a different Jesus.

00:04:10.000 --> 00:04:14.000
And either Jesus is the same unchanging Jesus, or

00:04:14.000 --> 00:04:18.000
there's something hidden in the Bible that we're not seeing, where this was meant

00:04:18.000 --> 00:04:22.000
for the New Testament times, or this was meant for the Samaritans, or this was meant for the Gentiles,

00:04:22.000 --> 00:04:26.000
and this ain't applicable anymore.

00:04:26.000 --> 00:04:30.000
I want to get out of this. I want to get out of this.

00:04:34.000 --> 00:04:38.000
And the only way to get out of this is to take a hammer to it every time,

00:04:38.000 --> 00:04:42.000
and then use mortar and

00:04:42.000 --> 00:04:46.000
build a new structure.

00:04:46.000 --> 00:04:50.000
There's two things. There's a deconstruction of a mindset, and the reconstruction

00:04:50.000 --> 00:04:54.000
of a biblical view. It has to

00:04:54.000 --> 00:04:58.000
be both, because you cannot inhabit what you don't believe.

00:05:02.000 --> 00:05:06.000
You cannot inhabit what you don't believe. If you half believe it,

00:05:06.000 --> 00:05:10.000
you will only inhabit what you half believe.

00:05:12.000 --> 00:05:16.000
It's not even dependent on whether you got your miracle or not.

00:05:18.000 --> 00:05:22.000
That becomes such a problem. How come I am still sick?

00:05:22.000 --> 00:05:26.000
If I am still sick, then this doesn't work.

00:05:28.000 --> 00:05:32.000
I want to get out of this so that I trust and believe Jesus has the same unchanging one,

00:05:32.000 --> 00:05:36.000
who if anything is increasing in who he is,

00:05:36.000 --> 00:05:40.000
then I will not be able to see the miracle.

00:05:40.000 --> 00:05:44.000
If anything is increasing in who he is on the earth, because

00:05:44.000 --> 00:05:48.000
the Bible says as the days come to an end, the devil is

00:05:48.000 --> 00:05:52.000
increasing in his rage, his fury, his evil, his wickedness, and his

00:05:52.000 --> 00:05:56.000
ways over the sons of disobedience. At this time, do you think Christ who said

00:05:56.000 --> 00:06:00.000
that the greater the darkness, the greater the light will hold back who

00:06:00.000 --> 00:06:04.000
he is through his people?

00:06:04.000 --> 00:06:08.000
That was the first miracle.

00:06:08.000 --> 00:06:12.000
Then you look at the fact that the Bible actually says in John

00:06:12.000 --> 00:06:16.000
chapter 2 verse 7 that through this miracle he displayed his glory and

00:06:16.000 --> 00:06:20.000
his disciples believed him. Five of them believed him. That's the first time they

00:06:20.000 --> 00:06:24.000
decided, ah shucks, this is more than a rabbi we have in our midst.

00:06:24.000 --> 00:06:28.000
The last miracle he did was in John 21 verse 6, where he says,

00:06:28.000 --> 00:06:32.000
boys do you have any fish? And they say, we fished all night.

00:06:32.000 --> 00:06:36.000
And he says, okay, cast your net on the other side. And they pull up 153 fish.

00:06:36.000 --> 00:06:42.000
And in the process, Jesus restores Peter.

00:06:42.000 --> 00:06:48.000
He restores provision.

00:06:48.000 --> 00:06:52.000
Restores provision.

00:06:52.000 --> 00:06:56.000
He propels them into their future commission.

00:06:56.000 --> 00:07:00.000
That you just won't be fishers of fish, you'll be fishers of men.

00:07:00.000 --> 00:07:04.000
That's his last miracle.

00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:08.000
One of the words that I want us to just continuously focus on is the word

00:07:08.000 --> 00:07:12.000
restore. Restore is the word restore.

00:07:12.000 --> 00:07:16.000
Restore is the word restore.

00:07:16.000 --> 00:07:20.000
What we continuously focus on is the word restore.

00:07:20.000 --> 00:07:24.000
Because we said this yesterday,

00:07:24.000 --> 00:07:28.000
that the reason God does signs, miracles and wonders is

00:07:28.000 --> 00:07:32.000
because he is obsessed with restoration.

00:07:32.000 --> 00:07:36.000
He's so obsessed with restoration that he allows

00:07:36.000 --> 00:07:40.000
the murder of his son.

00:07:40.000 --> 00:07:44.000
That's how obsessed he is with restoration.

00:07:44.000 --> 00:07:48.000
He's so obsessed with restoration that his son is slain before the foundations of the earth were laid.

00:07:48.000 --> 00:07:52.000
And that God is not

00:07:52.000 --> 00:07:56.000
waiting for some end day. If he was waiting for some end day,

00:07:56.000 --> 00:08:00.000
the Bible would be much shorter and the Gospels would be missing because he would just turn up on the end day

00:08:00.000 --> 00:08:04.000
and in one swoop restore everything. Remove the devil,

00:08:04.000 --> 00:08:08.000
make us whole and we'd be restored. But that's not the plan.

00:08:08.000 --> 00:08:12.000
The plan was that the kingdom would break in with the coming of the Lord.

00:08:12.000 --> 00:08:16.000
The plan was that the kingdom would break in with the coming of Jesus and then we would work towards

00:08:16.000 --> 00:08:20.000
this time and everything would come to an amazing finale.

00:08:20.000 --> 00:08:24.000
But in the process, we gotta show the world

00:08:24.000 --> 00:08:28.000
what it looks like. And Jesus is alive

00:08:28.000 --> 00:08:32.000
and he's left his body on the earth for one purpose. Can you join me

00:08:32.000 --> 00:08:36.000
in my mission to restore?

00:08:36.000 --> 00:08:40.000
These things should sink somewhere deep inside.

00:08:40.000 --> 00:08:44.000
When you look at his miracles,

00:08:44.000 --> 00:08:48.000
you have the nobleman's son who was sick and

00:08:48.000 --> 00:08:52.000
Jesus says to him, go, your son

00:08:52.000 --> 00:08:56.000
is well. And when he was going, his servants meet him and they say, hey, your son

00:08:56.000 --> 00:09:00.000
is well. And he said, which hour did it happen? And they find out it was the

00:09:00.000 --> 00:09:04.000
same hour that Jesus spoke. There was a miracle

00:09:04.000 --> 00:09:08.000
of fish being caught on the other side of the boat

00:09:08.000 --> 00:09:12.000
when Peter says to him, go away from me for I'm a sinful man.

00:09:12.000 --> 00:09:16.000
There were demoniacs, one in Gadarin, two somewhere else

00:09:16.000 --> 00:09:20.000
and many more where people were delivered of

00:09:20.000 --> 00:09:24.000
fears, not ordinary demons,

00:09:24.000 --> 00:09:28.000
demons like legion. Mary was delivered of seven demons.

00:09:28.000 --> 00:09:32.000
There was Peter's mother-in-law who was

00:09:32.000 --> 00:09:36.000
unable to move because of a fever and Jesus lifts her up and

00:09:36.000 --> 00:09:40.000
rebukes the fever. There was walking through the midst of persecutors

00:09:40.000 --> 00:09:44.000
who were going to throw him over a cliff and he walks through them

00:09:44.000 --> 00:09:48.000
and they cannot stop him. There were lepers that were healed.

00:09:48.000 --> 00:09:52.000
There were the ten lepers and then there was a leper in Luke 5

00:09:52.000 --> 00:09:56.000
who said, if you are willing, you will make me clean. There was a widowed son

00:09:56.000 --> 00:10:00.000
who was dead and he was raised back to life. There was a centurion servant

00:10:00.000 --> 00:10:04.000
who was raised back to life. There was the stilling of the storm.

00:10:04.000 --> 00:10:08.000
There was the paralytic, many paralytics. There was Jairus's

00:10:08.000 --> 00:10:12.000
daughter. There was the issue of blood. There was Bartimaeus

00:10:12.000 --> 00:10:16.000
and then there were other blind men. There was the mute man and Jesus touched his tongue

00:10:16.000 --> 00:10:20.000
and he became okay. There was the pool at Bethesda where there was a man who had

00:10:20.000 --> 00:10:24.000
been crippled for 38 years. There was another man who had a widowed hand.

00:10:24.000 --> 00:10:28.000
He stretched out his hand and the widowed hand on a sabbath became well. There was the feeding of the

00:10:28.000 --> 00:10:32.000
5000. There was the feeding of the 4000. There was the word of Fatha

00:10:32.000 --> 00:10:36.000
and the mouth was spoken and the ears popped open. There was a syrophenician woman

00:10:36.000 --> 00:10:40.000
whose daughter was demonized who was healed. There was a blind man in John chapter 9

00:10:40.000 --> 00:10:44.000
who began to see but he saw things like trees and Jesus asked him to wash

00:10:44.000 --> 00:10:48.000
touched his eyes again and his eyes were restored. There was a boy

00:10:48.000 --> 00:10:52.000
that would be thrown into the fire by a demon and the father brought him to the

00:10:52.000 --> 00:10:56.000
disciples. They couldn't do anything. Jesus healed him. There was a woman who was bent for

00:10:56.000 --> 00:11:00.000
18 years, a daughter of Abraham. He delivered her from a demon and he

00:11:00.000 --> 00:11:04.000
was taken back out. There was a man who came with a swelling or dropsy on sabbath.

00:11:04.000 --> 00:11:08.000
Jesus healed him. There were the ten lepers and they all walked to the priest.

00:11:08.000 --> 00:11:12.000
All of them got healed. One man came back. There was Lazarus who was put in a tomb for

00:11:12.000 --> 00:11:16.000
four days and he came out of it alive. There was a fig tree that existed

00:11:16.000 --> 00:11:20.000
one day with leaves and in a few hours was completely

00:11:20.000 --> 00:11:24.000
withered away by Jesus' command. There was Malchus, the man

00:11:24.000 --> 00:11:28.000
whose ear Peter cut and Jesus put his hand on his ear and the ear was

00:11:28.000 --> 00:11:32.000
restored. There was a resurrection where a man who was dead and who was put in a tomb

00:11:32.000 --> 00:11:36.000
rose again to life and presented himself to the disciples.

00:11:36.000 --> 00:11:40.000
There was a cat of the 153 fish. There was a walking through walls and

00:11:40.000 --> 00:11:44.000
appearing to the disciples while they were sitting hidden. There was a walk to

00:11:44.000 --> 00:11:48.000
Emmaus and he was breaking bread and suddenly he disappeared.

00:11:48.000 --> 00:11:52.000
You are saying that this Jesus

00:11:52.000 --> 00:11:56.000
doesn't do anything anymore, Jacob? Get your

00:11:56.000 --> 00:12:00.000
mind right.

00:12:00.000 --> 00:12:04.000
I'm talking to myself. After giving you that entire list

00:12:04.000 --> 00:12:08.000
John 21 verse 25 still says that if I would begin to record

00:12:08.000 --> 00:12:12.000
everything that Jesus did there would not be enough books to record them.

00:12:12.000 --> 00:12:16.000
So what we are hearing is just this vignette

00:12:16.000 --> 00:12:20.000
of what Jesus did. There aren't enough books to write

00:12:20.000 --> 00:12:24.000
all the things he actually did. What kind of man is this, man?

00:12:24.000 --> 00:12:28.000
Who roams the earth today

00:12:28.000 --> 00:12:32.000
and who lives in his body and is waiting to do the same thing.

00:12:32.000 --> 00:12:36.000
Either he is unchanging

00:12:36.000 --> 00:12:40.000
and he does the same yesterday, today and forever or we've got

00:12:40.000 --> 00:12:44.000
some really bad theology to justify our

00:12:44.000 --> 00:12:48.000
importance.

00:12:54.000 --> 00:12:58.000
The thing is we've got to prove this. We've got to prove it works.

00:12:58.000 --> 00:13:02.000
But you can't prove anything till you believe what has been said.

00:13:10.000 --> 00:13:14.000
The book of Acts is a repeat. All these things I've mentioned

00:13:14.000 --> 00:13:18.000
all these healings, deliverances, provision happens in the book of Acts.

00:13:18.000 --> 00:13:22.000
The only things that are added on is there are thousands of salvations

00:13:22.000 --> 00:13:26.000
there's this amazing thing called translation that happens

00:13:26.000 --> 00:13:30.000
where a man is in one spot, one second and the next spot he's about

00:13:30.000 --> 00:13:34.000
eighteen to twenty miles away in a second.

00:13:34.000 --> 00:13:38.000
There's

00:13:38.000 --> 00:13:42.000
angelic interventions that happen in the book of Acts

00:13:42.000 --> 00:13:46.000
where Peter is in a prison and suddenly the doors start just swinging

00:13:46.000 --> 00:13:50.000
open. Chains fall off. Two different occasions.

00:13:50.000 --> 00:13:54.000
Once with Paul and Silas, once with Peter. Doors swinging open, guards standing there

00:13:54.000 --> 00:13:58.000
nobody aware, walking right through and he had to literally pinch himself

00:13:58.000 --> 00:14:02.000
to see if this was real and the angel actually wakes him up by kicking him.

00:14:02.000 --> 00:14:06.000
Saying, wake up Peter.

00:14:06.000 --> 00:14:10.000
Paul had the same thing, chains fall off.

00:14:10.000 --> 00:14:14.000
Besides that the other miracles that happen in the book of Acts is

00:14:14.000 --> 00:14:18.000
Simon Magus being struck blind and

00:14:18.000 --> 00:14:22.000
Herod being struck to death. Acts chapter five and

00:14:22.000 --> 00:14:26.000
sorry, and then Ananias and Sapphira are dying on the spot.

00:14:26.000 --> 00:14:30.000
Acts five, Acts nine, Acts twelve. Acts eight, Acts twelve.

00:14:30.000 --> 00:14:34.000
These were miracles too. But miracles

00:14:34.000 --> 00:14:38.000
that resulted, yes in the word of God spreading, yes fear being caused

00:14:38.000 --> 00:14:42.000
among people, amazement but opposition being removed.

00:14:42.000 --> 00:14:46.000
Those are the additions in the book of Acts.

00:14:46.000 --> 00:14:50.000
But otherwise you can basically put miracles

00:14:50.000 --> 00:14:54.000
under these categories.

00:15:04.000 --> 00:15:08.000
You can put them under multiplication.

00:15:10.000 --> 00:15:14.000
Healing is my mic still on.

00:15:14.000 --> 00:15:18.000
Deliverance from demons.

00:15:24.000 --> 00:15:28.000
Replacement as in healing is one thing

00:15:28.000 --> 00:15:32.000
but when someone who doesn't have

00:15:32.000 --> 00:15:36.000
a hand suddenly has a hand replaced, when someone who doesn't have

00:15:36.000 --> 00:15:40.000
who is mute from birth has hearing replaced.

00:15:40.000 --> 00:15:44.000
You're talking about more than something that is damaged being

00:15:44.000 --> 00:15:48.000
repaired. You're talking about something being

00:15:48.000 --> 00:15:52.000
literally recreated or regenerated.

00:15:52.000 --> 00:15:56.000
Control over nature where elements of nature

00:15:56.000 --> 00:16:00.000
are controlled or made to go one way or the other

00:16:00.000 --> 00:16:04.000
like it did with the wind and the waves.

00:16:04.000 --> 00:16:08.000
The ability to conquer

00:16:08.000 --> 00:16:12.000
times and space

00:16:12.000 --> 00:16:16.000
where he appeared, disappeared, translation.

00:16:16.000 --> 00:16:20.000
These are things in the New Testament where

00:16:20.000 --> 00:16:24.000
provision which is one of God's

00:16:24.000 --> 00:16:28.000
favorite things to do in miracles and life where

00:16:28.000 --> 00:16:32.000
what was dead was brought back to life. Look at this man.

00:16:32.000 --> 00:16:36.000
Look at this. What kind of God are we serving?

00:16:38.000 --> 00:16:42.000
This is just nuts man. Not bad Manoj.

00:16:42.000 --> 00:16:46.000
This is just nuts. This is who God is.

00:16:46.000 --> 00:16:50.000
These are the areas of miracles.

00:16:50.000 --> 00:16:54.000
Life as in physical life being restored.

00:16:54.000 --> 00:16:58.000
Provision. This is one of God's

00:16:58.000 --> 00:17:02.000
common themes providing miraculously.

00:17:02.000 --> 00:17:06.000
A miracle is a violation or an

00:17:06.000 --> 00:17:10.000
overriding of the natural by the intervention of the supernatural.

00:17:10.000 --> 00:17:14.000
Time space.

00:17:18.000 --> 00:17:22.000
Yeah. I got stories I can share from

00:17:22.000 --> 00:17:26.000
time space man. Multiplication where things multiply.

00:17:30.000 --> 00:17:34.000
Healing.

00:17:34.000 --> 00:17:38.000
Deliverance. Replacement or regeneration.

00:17:38.000 --> 00:17:42.000
Control over the elements of nature.

00:17:42.000 --> 00:17:46.000
And usually whenever these

00:17:46.000 --> 00:17:50.000
things happen it would affect three

00:17:50.000 --> 00:17:54.000
groups of people. It would affect those

00:17:54.000 --> 00:17:58.000
watching. It would affect those

00:17:58.000 --> 00:18:02.000
with Jesus as in his disciples.

00:18:02.000 --> 00:18:06.000
And it would affect those on whom

00:18:06.000 --> 00:18:10.000
or for whom the miracle was done.

00:18:12.000 --> 00:18:16.000
And the reactions would be

00:18:16.000 --> 00:18:20.000
awe, doubt,

00:18:20.000 --> 00:18:24.000
resistance, opposition.

00:18:24.000 --> 00:18:28.000
And we have to

00:18:28.000 --> 00:18:32.000
take stock of that. That there are three groups that are affected

00:18:32.000 --> 00:18:36.000
when miracles are done. The ones who are watching, the ones

00:18:36.000 --> 00:18:40.000
with you in the process and the ones to whom the miracle

00:18:40.000 --> 00:18:44.000
is done. And the reaction is either awe

00:18:44.000 --> 00:18:48.000
and amazement, sometimes doubt

00:18:48.000 --> 00:18:52.000
and often times resistance and opposition.

00:18:52.000 --> 00:18:56.000
Because there can't be a neutral reaction to a miracle.

00:18:56.000 --> 00:19:00.000
It's impossible to be neutral.

00:19:00.000 --> 00:19:04.000
But let's

00:19:04.000 --> 00:19:08.000
set this aside. I just wanted you to know that we can visit that later.

00:19:08.000 --> 00:19:12.000
But I want us to look at the different areas that the world is

00:19:12.000 --> 00:19:16.000
waiting for us to be provided, for us to provide

00:19:16.000 --> 00:19:20.000
them in. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

00:19:20.000 --> 00:19:24.000
I want to go into method now. Method.

00:19:24.000 --> 00:19:28.000
Don's question is, do we have the same

00:19:28.000 --> 00:19:32.000
authority in all these areas just like Jesus?

00:19:32.000 --> 00:19:36.000
I would say

00:19:36.000 --> 00:19:40.000
when it comes to miracles, because it's the supernatural intervention

00:19:40.000 --> 00:19:44.000
of God violating or overriding

00:19:44.000 --> 00:19:48.000
natural order, I'd say it's

00:19:48.000 --> 00:19:52.000
not as much about authority

00:19:52.000 --> 00:19:56.000
as it is about us

00:19:56.000 --> 00:20:00.000
doing what God is asking us to do in any given moment.

00:20:00.000 --> 00:20:04.000
Because in all these things, the one thing that he wants to do is

00:20:08.000 --> 00:20:12.000
restore.

00:20:12.000 --> 00:20:16.000
He wants to restore.

00:20:16.000 --> 00:20:20.000
So when he's providing, he wants to restore what is missing. When he's healing,

00:20:20.000 --> 00:20:24.000
he wants to restore what is damaged. When he delivers, he wants to restore

00:20:24.000 --> 00:20:28.000
sanity back. There are times when casting out demons

00:20:28.000 --> 00:20:32.000
requires authority. But somehow when we think of miracles,

00:20:32.000 --> 00:20:36.000
we are thinking of an intervention by God, a supernatural

00:20:36.000 --> 00:20:40.000
intervention to change natural order. And I would deal

00:20:40.000 --> 00:20:44.000
with authority only later. The first thing I want to deal with is my mental

00:20:44.000 --> 00:20:48.000
space. Because I'm not even ready to acknowledge

00:20:48.000 --> 00:20:52.000
that signs and miracles and wonders are God's

00:20:52.000 --> 00:20:56.000
favorite thing. These are a few of

00:20:56.000 --> 00:21:00.000
his favorite things.

00:21:00.000 --> 00:21:04.000
She's

00:21:04.000 --> 00:21:08.000
laughing too. So that is

00:21:08.000 --> 00:21:12.000
where my struggle is. I think the authority thing will be easier for me.

00:21:12.000 --> 00:21:16.000
So when it comes to method,

00:21:24.000 --> 00:21:28.000
when it comes to method,

00:21:28.000 --> 00:21:32.000
if you look at Acts chapter 3, verse 1 to 12 for instance,

00:21:32.000 --> 00:21:36.000
Acts chapter 3, verse 1 to 12, where Peter and John went to pray,

00:21:36.000 --> 00:21:40.000
everything is a song. It's so easy to remember things by song.

00:21:40.000 --> 00:21:44.000
Peter and John went to pray.

00:21:44.000 --> 00:21:48.000
They met a lame man on their way. He asked for some

00:21:48.000 --> 00:21:52.000
alms and he held out his palms. This is what Peter

00:21:52.000 --> 00:21:56.000
did say. Silver and gold have I

00:21:56.000 --> 00:22:00.000
none. But such as I have, give I thee.

00:22:00.000 --> 00:22:04.000
In the name of Jesus Christ,

00:22:04.000 --> 00:22:08.000
of Nazareth, rise up and walk. He went walking and

00:22:08.000 --> 00:22:12.000
leaping and praising God. Walking and leaping and

00:22:12.000 --> 00:22:16.000
praising God. In the name of Jesus Christ,

00:22:16.000 --> 00:22:20.000
of Nazareth, rise up and walk.

00:22:20.000 --> 00:22:24.000
That's Acts chapter 3, verse 1 to 12, in song.

00:22:24.000 --> 00:22:28.000
So when you look at that picture,

00:22:28.000 --> 00:22:32.000
and the guy was asking for alms, he wasn't even asking for

00:22:32.000 --> 00:22:36.000
healing. So when you look at that and we talk about method,

00:22:36.000 --> 00:22:40.000
here are some things we need to know with regard to method.

00:22:40.000 --> 00:22:44.000
First, expectation.

00:22:44.000 --> 00:22:48.000
Second, professed knowledge.

00:22:54.000 --> 00:22:58.000
Third, imitation.

00:22:58.000 --> 00:23:02.000
Fourth,

00:23:02.000 --> 00:23:06.000
professed

00:23:06.000 --> 00:23:10.000
dependence.

00:23:10.000 --> 00:23:14.000
Fifth, exposure.

00:23:18.000 --> 00:23:22.000
Sixth, verification.

00:23:26.000 --> 00:23:30.000
So the first one is perhaps

00:23:30.000 --> 00:23:34.000
the most important. Do you have an expectation

00:23:34.000 --> 00:23:38.000
that God does miracles?

00:23:38.000 --> 00:23:42.000
One. That God does miracles today? Two.

00:23:42.000 --> 00:23:46.000
That God does miracles today through you? Three. That God does miracles

00:23:46.000 --> 00:23:50.000
every day through you? Four. That God does

00:23:50.000 --> 00:23:54.000
miracles for the rest of your life. That expectation is

00:23:54.000 --> 00:23:58.000
where we are struggling. Because what expectation does is expectation

00:23:58.000 --> 00:24:02.000
triggers

00:24:02.000 --> 00:24:06.000
unsolicited action.

00:24:06.000 --> 00:24:10.000
Expectation triggers unsolicited action.

00:24:10.000 --> 00:24:14.000
As in, it doesn't even wait for, hey, could you heal me?

00:24:14.000 --> 00:24:18.000
I mean Peter and John were being asked for change.

00:24:18.000 --> 00:24:22.000
But they had the strange expectation that if a man is

00:24:22.000 --> 00:24:26.000
begging for money, it is their appointed responsibility

00:24:26.000 --> 00:24:30.000
to say to the man, we don't have silver and gold, we don't have anything to give you, but we do have

00:24:30.000 --> 00:24:34.000
something to give you and we have what we have to give is in the name of Jesus Christ

00:24:34.000 --> 00:24:38.000
and you look like you need help, so in the name of Jesus Christ, rise up and walk.

00:24:38.000 --> 00:24:42.000
Who asked him to get healed? Nobody. The guy wasn't asking, saying

00:24:42.000 --> 00:24:46.000
please heal me.

00:24:46.000 --> 00:24:50.000
Just about two months before that, Peter had denied Jesus three times.

00:24:56.000 --> 00:25:00.000
Yeah.

00:25:00.000 --> 00:25:04.000
I think God expects believers

00:25:04.000 --> 00:25:08.000
to have some faith, but he doesn't expect unbelievers to have any faith.

00:25:08.000 --> 00:25:12.000
Because what could they have faith in? They don't know Jesus.

00:25:12.000 --> 00:25:16.000
God really shows off in front of unbelievers.

00:25:16.000 --> 00:25:20.000
So

00:25:20.000 --> 00:25:24.000
the first one is expectation. Expectation triggers unsolicited

00:25:24.000 --> 00:25:28.000
action cause of anticipated outcome.

00:25:28.000 --> 00:25:32.000
Cause of anticipated outcome.

00:25:36.000 --> 00:25:40.000
Expectation triggers unasked, uninvited

00:25:40.000 --> 00:25:44.000
unsolicited action because of anticipated outcome. I know what's

00:25:44.000 --> 00:25:48.000
going to happen. I know you're asking me for money, but I'm just going to

00:25:48.000 --> 00:25:52.000
go ahead and heal you because I know the anticipated outcome.

00:25:52.000 --> 00:25:56.000
This wasn't Peter and John saying, hey, here's a lame guy.

00:25:56.000 --> 00:26:00.000
Do you want to try that thing that Jesus did? Let's see if it works. It wasn't a

00:26:00.000 --> 00:26:04.000
let's try this and see if it works. It was

00:26:04.000 --> 00:26:08.000
this expectation that triggered

00:26:08.000 --> 00:26:12.000
unasked, uninvited action because they had

00:26:12.000 --> 00:26:16.000
an anticipated outcome that they knew would come to pass.

00:26:16.000 --> 00:26:20.000
What confidence, man.

00:26:20.000 --> 00:26:24.000
This is what I don't have.

00:26:32.000 --> 00:26:36.000
Yeah, because he grew up amongst them. Capernaum and why wasn't

00:26:36.000 --> 00:26:40.000
Jesus able to perform miracles in Capernaum and Galilee? He was the son of

00:26:40.000 --> 00:26:44.000
the soil who grew up amongst them. They had seen him do things in

00:26:44.000 --> 00:26:48.000
surrounding neighborhoods. He comes to his own town and his own town is not willing to

00:26:48.000 --> 00:26:52.000
believe. So when there is enough reason to have

00:26:52.000 --> 00:26:56.000
faith and you choose not to believe, then there's nothing much

00:26:56.000 --> 00:27:00.000
we can do. So there can be people at Acts 29, you tell them a

00:27:00.000 --> 00:27:04.000
thing that is from the Bible and you teach them and they can still resist it.

00:27:04.000 --> 00:27:08.000
At that point, there's nothing you can do because

00:27:08.000 --> 00:27:12.000
it's not for a lack of teaching, not for a lack of goading, pushing,

00:27:12.000 --> 00:27:16.000
persuading, loving. It is just this is who I am.

00:27:16.000 --> 00:27:20.000
There's nothing you can do.

00:27:20.000 --> 00:27:24.000
Professed knowledge, as in this should

00:27:24.000 --> 00:27:28.000
continuously be built up. Who Jesus is,

00:27:28.000 --> 00:27:32.000
how he's a restorer, who he is in me.

00:27:32.000 --> 00:27:36.000
This must continuously be built up.

00:27:36.000 --> 00:27:40.000
Professed knowledge, meaning I should speak it out.

00:27:40.000 --> 00:27:44.000
I should speak it out. I must have, it's a professed knowledge, not knowledge that

00:27:44.000 --> 00:27:48.000
sits in my head. But this is who Jesus is. That's what we're

00:27:48.000 --> 00:27:52.000
doing now. This is professed knowledge. We're looking at stories, looking

00:27:52.000 --> 00:27:56.000
at scriptures, looking at the nature of God, particularly his intent to restore

00:27:56.000 --> 00:28:00.000
and we're saying, but this is who he is. We are growing in knowledge and knowledge that

00:28:00.000 --> 00:28:04.000
we grow in is always spoken. It'll be discussed.

00:28:04.000 --> 00:28:08.000
Questions will come up. Professed knowledge.

00:28:08.000 --> 00:28:12.000
Perhaps the difference between a

00:28:12.000 --> 00:28:16.000
theologian and a practicing theologian is

00:28:16.000 --> 00:28:20.000
one has knowledge and teaches it. Another one

00:28:20.000 --> 00:28:24.000
professes it, wants to practice it, wants to see it work. It's not enough for it to

00:28:24.000 --> 00:28:28.000
be something that is filling books. I don't want

00:28:28.000 --> 00:28:32.000
this to fill books. I don't want it to be in my notes.

00:28:32.000 --> 00:28:36.000
I want to see us, I really mean us.

00:28:36.000 --> 00:28:40.000
I really want to see us show the world that this works.

00:28:40.000 --> 00:28:44.000
Third, imitation.

00:28:44.000 --> 00:28:48.000
Imitation recalls how Jesus did it.

00:28:48.000 --> 00:28:52.000
And it makes

00:28:52.000 --> 00:28:56.000
contextual adjustments so that we can repeat the same, we can

00:28:56.000 --> 00:29:00.000
imitate the same thing in our context. Imitation

00:29:00.000 --> 00:29:04.000
is how did Jesus do this? How did Paul do it? How did Peter do it?

00:29:04.000 --> 00:29:08.000
So that's how they do it. So I'll probably do the same. Only

00:29:08.000 --> 00:29:12.000
there might be contextual changes that I'll have to make and so I'll make those changes.

00:29:12.000 --> 00:29:16.000
Maybe I can't

00:29:16.000 --> 00:29:20.000
tell the doctors and nurses to leave the room because I'm in the hospital room.

00:29:20.000 --> 00:29:24.000
Let them stay but I'll ask all the other moners to leave.

00:29:24.000 --> 00:29:28.000
But imitation

00:29:28.000 --> 00:29:32.000
is

00:29:32.000 --> 00:29:36.000
something that I have to learn from Bible stories.

00:29:36.000 --> 00:29:40.000
This is what happened in the Bible. This is what I'll still do. If anything needs to be added, I'll add.

00:29:40.000 --> 00:29:44.000
But this is the methodology, guys.

00:29:44.000 --> 00:29:48.000
The fourth one is

00:29:48.000 --> 00:29:52.000
profess dependence where I acknowledge the source

00:29:52.000 --> 00:29:56.000
of the miracle. I

00:29:56.000 --> 00:30:00.000
give him

00:30:00.000 --> 00:30:04.000
recognition for what he's doing. I rely,

00:30:04.000 --> 00:30:08.000
I speak about my reliance on him

00:30:08.000 --> 00:30:12.000
as I go about doing what I'm about to do.

00:30:12.000 --> 00:30:16.000
And you'll see this. Peter in Acts chapter 3, hey guys, he says in

00:30:16.000 --> 00:30:20.000
3 verse 12 and verse 16, do not look at us. This is

00:30:20.000 --> 00:30:24.000
surely in the name of Jesus Christ. You know with Jesus we are talking about the one that the

00:30:24.000 --> 00:30:28.000
rulers put to death, that Jesus Christ. It is surely by the power

00:30:28.000 --> 00:30:32.000
in his name that this man has been healed. Same thing in Acts chapter 14 that we

00:30:32.000 --> 00:30:36.000
read yesterday. It is this profess dependence which

00:30:36.000 --> 00:30:40.000
acknowledges, gives glory, and

00:30:40.000 --> 00:30:44.000
speaks of the one in whose name you are going to do what you're

00:30:44.000 --> 00:30:48.000
going to do or you just finish doing what you have done.

00:30:48.000 --> 00:30:52.000
One of the coolest things is when I know that something is going to happen and you go

00:30:52.000 --> 00:30:56.000
tell someone that listen, I'm going to pray in the name of Jesus and when I'm going to pray in the name of

00:30:56.000 --> 00:31:00.000
Jesus, this is going to happen. But I want you to know that it has nothing to do with me,

00:31:00.000 --> 00:31:04.000
it has to do with Jesus. Tell the person. It is so much

00:31:04.000 --> 00:31:08.000
fun.

00:31:08.000 --> 00:31:12.000
It is such a foolish, boastful,

00:31:12.000 --> 00:31:16.000
clamorous, not glamorous,

00:31:16.000 --> 00:31:20.000
clamorous as in loud and unruly declaration of who

00:31:20.000 --> 00:31:24.000
God is and what he's going to do. Your absolute dependence on him.

00:31:24.000 --> 00:31:28.000
He's giving glory before it happens and after it happens.

00:31:28.000 --> 00:31:32.000
The fifth one is exposure. You have to calibrate exposure.

00:31:32.000 --> 00:31:36.000
As in you have to decide, Father as I go about

00:31:36.000 --> 00:31:40.000
doing this healing or miracle,

00:31:40.000 --> 00:31:44.000
do I do it publicly in open space or do I

00:31:44.000 --> 00:31:48.000
do it privately where I call this person aside? Do I expel moaners

00:31:48.000 --> 00:31:52.000
or don't I? Do I close the doors or do I not close the doors?

00:31:52.000 --> 00:31:56.000
Jesus had to go through this process every time. There were times when he didn't want to

00:31:56.000 --> 00:32:00.000
do it publicly and he was forced to do it publicly and the Bible says that

00:32:00.000 --> 00:32:04.000
because the information was shared publicly, Jesus couldn't enter the town again

00:32:04.000 --> 00:32:08.000
because there was too much of a crowd. Other times he would close the door so that nobody saw it.

00:32:08.000 --> 00:32:12.000
Other times he would expel the moaners. Other times Paul and Silas

00:32:12.000 --> 00:32:16.000
would do things out in the open and immediately would be followed by opposition

00:32:16.000 --> 00:32:20.000
and beating up. When the spirit of divination was cast out as the woman

00:32:20.000 --> 00:32:24.000
in Acts 16, seconds later Paul and Silas were beaten up by the crowd.

00:32:28.000 --> 00:32:32.000
It's only today that we use healing in

00:32:32.000 --> 00:32:36.000
mass crusades to invite people in so that

00:32:36.000 --> 00:32:40.000
whatever intent the crusader has is met.

00:32:40.000 --> 00:32:44.000
But in the New Testament it was thought of before

00:32:44.000 --> 00:32:48.000
it was done. Because the

00:32:48.000 --> 00:32:52.000
primary intent here is restoration.

00:32:56.000 --> 00:33:00.000
And the last one is verification. Verification is when you

00:33:00.000 --> 00:33:04.000
ask the person to validate the

00:33:04.000 --> 00:33:08.000
miracle that happened. Go to

00:33:08.000 --> 00:33:12.000
the doctor, go to the priest, go to whoever needs to check

00:33:12.000 --> 00:33:16.000
whether the fish I gave you is plastic or real

00:33:16.000 --> 00:33:20.000
before you eat it or before you boil it. Because plastic doesn't boil well.

00:33:20.000 --> 00:33:24.000
Encourage validation.

00:33:24.000 --> 00:33:28.000
Encourage validation. Jesus

00:33:28.000 --> 00:33:32.000
at one point goes up to Thomas and what does he say? Listen, here

00:33:32.000 --> 00:33:36.000
feel the nail marks. Because Thomas had

00:33:36.000 --> 00:33:40.000
said till I put my fingers into the marks of the nail I won't believe. Feel it.

00:33:40.000 --> 00:33:44.000
That is something that we must

00:33:44.000 --> 00:33:48.000
engage in. So these are the six steps in terms of methods. Any questions?

00:33:48.000 --> 00:33:52.000
Exposure.

00:33:52.000 --> 00:33:56.000
When it comes to where and how I do the miracle I have to

00:33:56.000 --> 00:34:00.000
figure out, I should calibrate as in I should calculate whether God is

00:34:00.000 --> 00:34:04.000
saying do it openly. Do it

00:34:04.000 --> 00:34:08.000
behind closed doors.

00:34:08.000 --> 00:34:12.000
Call, expel moaners.

00:34:12.000 --> 00:34:16.000
Call in the pastor. Depends.

00:34:16.000 --> 00:34:20.000
Who do I take with me? That's another important thing. Who do I

00:34:20.000 --> 00:34:24.000
take with me? Exposure is so important who I take with me.

00:34:24.000 --> 00:34:28.000
Why is it that at times I can take all twelve? Why is it that other times

00:34:28.000 --> 00:34:32.000
I can only take Peter, James and John?

00:34:32.000 --> 00:34:36.000
Why is it that at times I break the bread

00:34:36.000 --> 00:34:40.000
and I multiply it and give it? Why at other times do I say

00:34:40.000 --> 00:34:44.000
to Philip you go do it? That's what I mean by

00:34:44.000 --> 00:34:48.000
exposure. Any questions?

00:35:06.000 --> 00:35:10.000
Pardon?

00:35:10.000 --> 00:35:14.000
Will take time.

00:35:14.000 --> 00:35:18.000
Yeah, I'm not sure but perhaps.

00:35:18.000 --> 00:35:22.000
For me the only step that I really want to

00:35:22.000 --> 00:35:26.000
cement forever is expectation.

00:35:26.000 --> 00:35:30.000
Once I cement that the rest of it

00:35:30.000 --> 00:35:34.000
is not going to be a problem.

00:35:34.000 --> 00:35:38.000
The rest of it

00:35:38.000 --> 00:35:42.000
will just increase. Imitation is not much of a problem if you are fluent in the

00:35:42.000 --> 00:35:46.000
word or have an idea of what the stories in the Bible are.

00:35:46.000 --> 00:35:50.000
Dependent acknowledgement I think most of us

00:35:50.000 --> 00:35:54.000
are okay with. Exposure is hearing and doing. Verification is scary.

00:35:54.000 --> 00:35:58.000
Because it proves whether the thing was real or not.

00:35:58.000 --> 00:36:02.000
Expectation is where I would have a struggle.

00:36:02.000 --> 00:36:06.000
This must be my constant expectation.

00:36:06.000 --> 00:36:10.000
What a place to start his first miracle.

00:36:10.000 --> 00:36:14.000
Yeah.

00:36:14.000 --> 00:36:18.000
In Cana at a wedding.

00:36:18.000 --> 00:36:22.000
So know this that

00:36:22.000 --> 00:36:26.000
it only happens by the power of the Holy Spirit. It only happens by the power of the Holy Spirit.

00:36:26.000 --> 00:36:30.000
Realize that miracles happen by the power of the Holy Spirit

00:36:30.000 --> 00:36:34.000
not by you. Try to take the pressure off you.

00:36:34.000 --> 00:36:38.000
Try to take the pressure off you. This can only happen by the power

00:36:38.000 --> 00:36:42.000
of the Holy Spirit. Try to take the pressure off you.

00:36:42.000 --> 00:36:46.000
So Jacob shouldn't we ask the Lord before we go heal somebody? I think we've got

00:36:46.000 --> 00:36:50.000
the asking quite, we've got the asking

00:36:50.000 --> 00:36:54.000
thing done quite well.

00:36:54.000 --> 00:36:58.000
Most of us know how to hear God. I think now what is required

00:36:58.000 --> 00:37:02.000
is a daring. And so we know

00:37:02.000 --> 00:37:06.000
that it is only by the Holy Spirit that it happens. Luke 5 17, the power of God

00:37:06.000 --> 00:37:10.000
was present to heal. Jesus needed the power of the Holy Spirit there.

00:37:10.000 --> 00:37:14.000
Romans 15 19, the words and the deeds, the signs and the wonders

00:37:14.000 --> 00:37:18.000
Paul says that I have done all across the place is by the power

00:37:18.000 --> 00:37:22.000
of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 3 verse 5, why are you

00:37:22.000 --> 00:37:26.000
going back to your old ways? Aren't the miracles that were done amongst you in this church

00:37:26.000 --> 00:37:30.000
done by the power of the Holy Spirit? Isaiah 60 verse 1 and 2

00:37:30.000 --> 00:37:34.000
this is something that perhaps you can read every morning for the next

00:37:34.000 --> 00:37:38.000
hundred days where you start with this idea of the

00:37:38.000 --> 00:37:42.000
Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me.

00:37:42.000 --> 00:37:46.000
And he has anointed me to preach the

00:37:46.000 --> 00:37:50.000
good news to the poor, to open the eyes of the blind,

00:37:50.000 --> 00:37:54.000
to set captives free, to set people at liberty,

00:37:54.000 --> 00:37:58.000
to announce the year of favor. The year of favor

00:37:58.000 --> 00:38:02.000
was a year when people would be released from that which was damaged and broken

00:38:02.000 --> 00:38:06.000
and people would be restored. That was the year of favor. It was the year

00:38:06.000 --> 00:38:10.000
of Jubilee. Isaiah 61, let me

00:38:10.000 --> 00:38:14.000
read it. I was pleading with the Lord that today as I

00:38:14.000 --> 00:38:18.000
teach, oh God would you teach me, would you help me to understand words that I've

00:38:18.000 --> 00:38:22.000
never understood before. The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord

00:38:22.000 --> 00:38:26.000
is on me because the Lord has anointed me

00:38:26.000 --> 00:38:30.000
to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up

00:38:30.000 --> 00:38:34.000
the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the

00:38:34.000 --> 00:38:38.000
captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim

00:38:38.000 --> 00:38:42.000
the year of the Lord's favor, to comfort those

00:38:42.000 --> 00:38:46.000
who mourn. The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord

00:38:46.000 --> 00:38:50.000
has anointed me to preach the good news to the poor, send me to

00:38:50.000 --> 00:38:54.000
bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom to the captives, release from darkness

00:38:54.000 --> 00:38:58.000
for prisoners.

00:38:58.000 --> 00:39:02.000
Keep going over that. The other thing I want to say guys, and I think this is such a

00:39:02.000 --> 00:39:06.000
critical point, is that miracles lie at the heart of the Gospel.

00:39:06.000 --> 00:39:10.000
Miracles lie

00:39:10.000 --> 00:39:14.000
at the heart of the Gospel.

00:39:14.000 --> 00:39:18.000
Miracles lie at the heart of the Gospel.

00:39:20.000 --> 00:39:24.000
Miracles lie at the heart of the Gospel. Why is this important?

00:39:24.000 --> 00:39:28.000
What's the commission? Go preach the good news to all nations.

00:39:28.000 --> 00:39:32.000
The Gospel, if our primary

00:39:32.000 --> 00:39:36.000
job is to preach the Gospel, then miracles

00:39:36.000 --> 00:39:40.000
lie at the heart of the Gospel. Because here's the Gospel guys,

00:39:40.000 --> 00:39:44.000
listen to this. Here's the Gospel. Because most of us

00:39:44.000 --> 00:39:48.000
wouldn't know how to define the Gospel. I asked myself the day before yesterday

00:39:48.000 --> 00:39:52.000
and I, Jacob defined the Gospel. I was surprised at how ill-defined

00:39:52.000 --> 00:39:56.000
it was. Here is the Gospel.

00:39:56.000 --> 00:40:00.000
The Gospel is the good news

00:40:00.000 --> 00:40:04.000
that the one and only

00:40:04.000 --> 00:40:08.000
Holy God has promised

00:40:08.000 --> 00:40:12.000
to restore all, has promised to restore

00:40:12.000 --> 00:40:16.000
all things, including you,

00:40:16.000 --> 00:40:20.000
through the death and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ.

00:40:20.000 --> 00:40:24.000
Let me say that again. Here is the Gospel. This is what we are supposed to preach.

00:40:24.000 --> 00:40:28.000
Here is the Gospel. The Gospel is the

00:40:28.000 --> 00:40:32.000
good news, this is part one of the Gospel. The Gospel is the good news

00:40:32.000 --> 00:40:36.000
that the one and only Holy God

00:40:36.000 --> 00:40:40.000
has promised

00:40:40.000 --> 00:40:44.000
to restore all things,

00:40:44.000 --> 00:40:48.000
including you, through the death

00:40:48.000 --> 00:40:52.000
and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ.

00:40:52.000 --> 00:40:56.000
That he's restoring all things, including you. What have we

00:40:56.000 --> 00:41:00.000
made the Gospel? We have made the Gospel my salvation. I am saved.

00:41:00.000 --> 00:41:04.000
That is not the way the Gospel was

00:41:04.000 --> 00:41:08.000
meant to be in the heart of God. The idea was, listen,

00:41:08.000 --> 00:41:12.000
I'm the one and only Holy God. I'm the sovereign one. I made the

00:41:12.000 --> 00:41:16.000
earth beautiful. I had a plan for it. I knew

00:41:16.000 --> 00:41:20.000
that Adam would mess up, but I still had a plan for it. And I'm not going to change

00:41:20.000 --> 00:41:24.000
my plan. And I have promised right from the moment I turned up in the

00:41:24.000 --> 00:41:28.000
garden and cursed the serpent, I promised there. And I promised before

00:41:28.000 --> 00:41:32.000
the foundations of the earth by having my son slain. I promised

00:41:32.000 --> 00:41:36.000
that I would restore all things, all things, including

00:41:36.000 --> 00:41:40.000
you, Jacob, through the death and resurrection of my son Jesus Christ,

00:41:40.000 --> 00:41:44.000
whose love for you is extravagant,

00:41:44.000 --> 00:41:48.000
who came as a willing sacrifice to reconcile,

00:41:48.000 --> 00:41:52.000
to restore all things back to me so that I can have Eden back.

00:41:52.000 --> 00:41:56.000
Eden is mine. You gave it away. I get it back.

00:41:56.000 --> 00:42:00.000
And I will restore. That is why this word restore

00:42:00.000 --> 00:42:04.000
is critical when it comes to miracle signs and wonders. Because healing

00:42:04.000 --> 00:42:08.000
signs, wonders, miracles are meant for one thing.

00:42:08.000 --> 00:42:12.000
To give the world a taste, to give the church a taste, to give you a taste

00:42:12.000 --> 00:42:16.000
of what is going to happen one day already because the kingdom has broken

00:42:16.000 --> 00:42:20.000
in. This must somehow grab my heart.

00:42:20.000 --> 00:42:24.000
Because like it or not,

00:42:24.000 --> 00:42:28.000
signs, wonders and miracles lie at the heart of the gospel. Because the gospel

00:42:28.000 --> 00:42:32.000
is about restoring.

00:42:32.000 --> 00:42:36.000
These are the works of God

00:42:36.000 --> 00:42:40.000
meant to restore creation and undo brokenness.

00:42:40.000 --> 00:42:44.000
That's what these things are. No other religion offers it.

00:42:44.000 --> 00:42:50.000
Why are we domesticating, taming, sterilizing, sanitizing, destroying

00:42:54.000 --> 00:42:58.000
what God has meant? I would say

00:42:58.000 --> 00:43:02.000
I put it this way. Dare to think.

00:43:02.000 --> 00:43:06.000
Dare, I'm just taking words that Derek said yesterday,

00:43:06.000 --> 00:43:10.000
dare to think, dare to think

00:43:10.000 --> 00:43:14.000
God's absolute

00:43:14.000 --> 00:43:18.000
desire to restore. Dare to think God's absolute

00:43:18.000 --> 00:43:22.000
desire to restore

00:43:22.000 --> 00:43:26.000
the world.

00:43:26.000 --> 00:43:30.000
Dare to think

00:43:30.000 --> 00:43:34.000
God's absolute desire to restore

00:43:34.000 --> 00:43:38.000
in super store.

00:43:38.000 --> 00:43:42.000
In super store.

00:43:42.000 --> 00:43:46.000
Dare to think God's absolute desire to restore in super store

00:43:46.000 --> 00:43:50.000
through a miracle

00:43:50.000 --> 00:43:54.000
in a life

00:43:54.000 --> 00:43:58.000
in a life

00:43:58.000 --> 00:44:02.000
today.

00:44:08.000 --> 00:44:12.000
Dare to think like this, that God has

00:44:12.000 --> 00:44:16.000
this obsessive desire to restore.

00:44:16.000 --> 00:44:20.000
And that often those restorations come not

00:44:20.000 --> 00:44:24.000
through a long process, though there are some processes that are long for restoration.

00:44:24.000 --> 00:44:28.000
Often those processes come also through

00:44:28.000 --> 00:44:32.000
miracle signs and wonders. And it might happen in super store

00:44:32.000 --> 00:44:36.000
or in the street or at work. And it might happen

00:44:36.000 --> 00:44:40.000
through you and it might happen today.

00:44:50.000 --> 00:44:54.000
I feel like coughing but

00:44:54.000 --> 00:44:58.000
it's so difficult nowadays you can't cough.

00:44:58.000 --> 00:45:02.000
So I'll have to drink coffee and drink water and give my throat a break.

00:45:02.000 --> 00:45:06.000
What do you do when you shout like this?

00:45:06.000 --> 00:45:10.000
It's not like it's 20 minutes, it's like

00:45:10.000 --> 00:45:14.000
almost 20 minutes.

00:45:14.000 --> 00:45:18.000
It's like 20 minutes.

00:45:18.000 --> 00:45:22.000
It's like 20 minutes, it's like almost an hour.

00:45:22.000 --> 00:45:26.000
I'm talking about the worship.

00:45:34.000 --> 00:45:38.000
I mean give Don and Michael a turn at worship and they repeat the song so many

00:45:38.000 --> 00:45:42.000
times that at the end of the day I didn't know how to sing a little louder.

00:45:42.000 --> 00:45:46.000
Sorry Michael.

00:45:46.000 --> 00:45:50.000
And by the time Don was done

00:45:50.000 --> 00:45:54.000
I didn't have any moves left.

00:45:54.000 --> 00:45:58.000
Alright moving on.

00:45:58.000 --> 00:46:02.000
Even Phoebe stopped.

00:46:02.000 --> 00:46:06.000
Guys the Gospel can't just be words.

00:46:06.000 --> 00:46:10.000
It has to be words like the Bible.

00:46:10.000 --> 00:46:14.000
It has to be words, it has to be words, lifestyle works.

00:46:14.000 --> 00:46:18.000
The Gospel can't just be words, it has to be words, lifestyle

00:46:18.000 --> 00:46:22.000
works. First Thessalonians 1.5.

00:46:22.000 --> 00:46:26.000
Sometimes you have these scriptures hidden away in places like Thessalonica.

00:46:26.000 --> 00:46:30.000
Nobody goes there. First Thessalonians 1.5.

00:46:30.000 --> 00:46:34.000
Guys who get completely ignored, Neham, Obadiah,

00:46:34.000 --> 00:46:38.000
Thessalonians. We think Thessalonians is a person.

00:46:38.000 --> 00:46:42.000
It was just a letter written to the people there.

00:46:42.000 --> 00:46:46.000
First Thessalonians 1.5.

00:46:50.000 --> 00:46:54.000
For we know brothers, loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our Gospel

00:46:54.000 --> 00:46:58.000
came to you not simply with words but also with power,

00:46:58.000 --> 00:47:02.000
with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction.

00:47:02.000 --> 00:47:06.000
Beautifully. This Gospel is not just words, it's words,

00:47:06.000 --> 00:47:10.000
lifestyle works. Words, lifestyle works.

00:47:10.000 --> 00:47:14.000
So the equation is very simple. When words are spoken,

00:47:14.000 --> 00:47:18.000
when words are spoken,

00:47:22.000 --> 00:47:26.000
works happen.

00:47:28.000 --> 00:47:32.000
And the works that happen validate

00:47:32.000 --> 00:47:36.000
the words.

00:47:38.000 --> 00:47:42.000
When words are spoken, works happen.

00:47:42.000 --> 00:47:46.000
And when works happen, it validates the words and

00:47:46.000 --> 00:47:50.000
the presence of God.

00:47:50.000 --> 00:47:54.000
That's why Jesus said, son your sins are forgiven.

00:47:54.000 --> 00:47:58.000
But since you don't believe that, let me show

00:47:58.000 --> 00:48:02.000
you that my words matter. Pick up your bed and walk.

00:48:02.000 --> 00:48:06.000
And in him picking up his bed and walking, the people

00:48:06.000 --> 00:48:10.000
around realized, oh shucks, his sins are forgiven too. Which is what I just

00:48:10.000 --> 00:48:14.000
sang, Psalm 103. Forgive all your sins, heal all your diseases.

00:48:14.000 --> 00:48:18.000
This is how it works.

00:48:18.000 --> 00:48:22.000
First Thessalonians 1.5.

00:48:22.000 --> 00:48:26.000
John 14.11. Listen to it. Just listen to it.

00:48:26.000 --> 00:48:30.000
Jesus is saying this, John 14.11. I'm reading from the message.

00:48:30.000 --> 00:48:34.000
If you can't believe that the Father is in me and I'm in the Father,

00:48:34.000 --> 00:48:38.000
believe what you see these works. If you can't believe

00:48:38.000 --> 00:48:42.000
what I'm saying, look at the works I'm doing.

00:48:42.000 --> 00:48:46.000
How can we sanitize this?

00:48:46.000 --> 00:48:50.000
Guys, there are two extremes nowadays. We mutilate the Gospel

00:48:50.000 --> 00:48:54.000
by either peddling signs without preaching the Word

00:48:54.000 --> 00:48:58.000
or preaching the Word without an expectation of signs.

00:48:58.000 --> 00:49:02.000
We mutilate it. We mutilate the Gospel

00:49:02.000 --> 00:49:06.000
by either peddling signs without preaching the Word

00:49:06.000 --> 00:49:10.000
or preaching the Word without an expectation of signs.

00:49:10.000 --> 00:49:14.000
And I'm saying Acts 29. Acts 29, please

00:49:14.000 --> 00:49:18.000
let us preach the Word and expect signs.

00:49:18.000 --> 00:49:22.000
Because that's how Jesus said we should go about doing things. Jesus commanded

00:49:22.000 --> 00:49:26.000
go, preach, heal, raise the dead,

00:49:26.000 --> 00:49:30.000
cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. And if He commanded me to do that

00:49:30.000 --> 00:49:34.000
and if I obey, He will not hold back. Heaven backs

00:49:34.000 --> 00:49:38.000
what Jesus says. If He commanded,

00:49:38.000 --> 00:49:42.000
go, preach. And that's the order.

00:49:42.000 --> 00:49:46.000
He commanded it, go. So they won't come here,

00:49:46.000 --> 00:49:50.000
you go. Go, preach, heal, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers,

00:49:50.000 --> 00:49:54.000
cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Heaven will back you up.

00:49:54.000 --> 00:49:58.000
Jesus said in Matthew 16, verse 17 and 18,

00:49:58.000 --> 00:50:02.000
these signs will accompany those who believe. Jesus said,

00:50:02.000 --> 00:50:06.000
these signs will accompany those who believe. They will cast out demons.

00:50:06.000 --> 00:50:10.000
They will lay their hands on the sick and the sick shall be healed. Jesus said this.

00:50:10.000 --> 00:50:14.000
Come on, man.

00:50:14.000 --> 00:50:18.000
We've got to at least begin to experiment with this and increase our level of

00:50:18.000 --> 00:50:22.000
expectation.

00:50:22.000 --> 00:50:26.000
Jacob, you're setting us up for failure.

00:50:30.000 --> 00:50:34.000
If after praying for five people, one person rises,

00:50:34.000 --> 00:50:38.000
I can live with that.

00:50:38.000 --> 00:50:42.000
I always think your batting average

00:50:42.000 --> 00:50:46.000
goes up as you bat more.

00:50:46.000 --> 00:50:50.000
I know I've said this before. Jeevan and I were sitting

00:50:50.000 --> 00:50:54.000
with a pastor from New West and he asked Jeevan,

00:50:54.000 --> 00:50:58.000
why is it that more miracles happen in India and South America and places

00:50:58.000 --> 00:51:02.000
like that than in Canada? I had a really good answer but unfortunately,

00:51:02.000 --> 00:51:06.000
Jeevan beat me to it and his answer was better so I shut up.

00:51:06.000 --> 00:51:10.000
Jeevan said, that's because in

00:51:10.000 --> 00:51:14.000
an Indian village, when you don't have money, you can't go to the bank to

00:51:14.000 --> 00:51:18.000
get it. When you don't have medicines, you can't go to a doctor because there's no doctor.

00:51:18.000 --> 00:51:22.000
When you have a pain, you can't go

00:51:22.000 --> 00:51:26.000
and get Tylenol. You do not have a choice but to turn

00:51:26.000 --> 00:51:30.000
to the only one who can help you.

00:51:30.000 --> 00:51:34.000
When they turn to their gods and they find no relief and you tell them that

00:51:34.000 --> 00:51:38.000
your god heals, they come. And he says,

00:51:38.000 --> 00:51:42.000
people begin to see miracles because they do not

00:51:42.000 --> 00:51:46.000
have any other choice. It's true.

00:51:46.000 --> 00:51:50.000
Now when they come to you and you say you're a Jesus believer

00:51:50.000 --> 00:51:54.000
and they ask you to pray and you don't know how to pray, all you do is lay hands and say,

00:51:54.000 --> 00:51:58.000
Jesus please take this pain away and Jesus take the pain away and you become a

00:51:58.000 --> 00:52:02.000
hero and you realize this is much easier than you thought.

00:52:02.000 --> 00:52:06.000
There's no great intellectual

00:52:06.000 --> 00:52:10.000
thinking in this. It's just foolish obedience.

00:52:10.000 --> 00:52:14.000
The second part

00:52:14.000 --> 00:52:18.000
of the definition of the gospel is, he redeemed

00:52:18.000 --> 00:52:22.000
you so you can join his community and become

00:52:22.000 --> 00:52:26.000
partners with God on his mission of restoration. That's the second part

00:52:26.000 --> 00:52:30.000
of the gospel. The first part of the gospel was that it is

00:52:30.000 --> 00:52:34.000
the good news of the one and only holy god promising to restore

00:52:34.000 --> 00:52:38.000
all things including you through the death and resurrection of his son Jesus Christ

00:52:38.000 --> 00:52:42.000
who extravagantly loves you. As you believe that

00:52:42.000 --> 00:52:46.000
and with faith receive that, he now redeems you so that you

00:52:46.000 --> 00:52:50.000
can join his community and

00:52:50.000 --> 00:52:54.000
partner with him on the mission of restoring all things.

00:52:54.000 --> 00:52:58.000
That's our mission, restoring all things back to the father. That's your mission.

00:52:58.000 --> 00:53:02.000
Why do you think Jesus is saying go preach, raise the dead, cleanse the leper, heal the sick,

00:53:02.000 --> 00:53:06.000
cast out demons? Why is he doing that? Because he wants everything restored back to him.

00:53:06.000 --> 00:53:10.000
That's why he came. I'm restoring all things back to my father.

00:53:10.000 --> 00:53:14.000
I'm reconciling all things back to my father. Why is

00:53:14.000 --> 00:53:18.000
Jane singing walls be broken down? Because Jesus said that the wall

00:53:18.000 --> 00:53:22.000
of hostility between God and man, between Jew and Gentile,

00:53:22.000 --> 00:53:26.000
I'm breaking down. Coming to reconcile.

00:53:26.000 --> 00:53:30.000
This is what we are supposed to do.

00:53:30.000 --> 00:53:34.000
Let me end with one verse and one story.

00:53:34.000 --> 00:53:38.000
John 14-12, Jesus is saying

00:53:38.000 --> 00:53:42.000
I'm on my way to my father. I'm giving you the same work to do that I've been doing.

00:53:42.000 --> 00:53:46.000
Period. I'm on my way to the father.

00:53:46.000 --> 00:53:50.000
I'm giving you the same work to do that I was doing.

00:53:50.000 --> 00:53:54.000
How do you argue

00:53:54.000 --> 00:53:58.000
with stuff like this man? You know where we get stuck? When he said

00:53:58.000 --> 00:54:02.000
greater works, what did he mean by greater works? How many of us have done

00:54:02.000 --> 00:54:06.000
greater works? Really? See the rest of the scripture.

00:54:06.000 --> 00:54:10.000
I'm going to my father. I'm leaving you to do the work

00:54:10.000 --> 00:54:14.000
that I was doing. I'm leaving it to you to do. Whether your

00:54:14.000 --> 00:54:18.000
works are lesser or greater, we'll figure it out later. But at least start with that.

00:54:18.000 --> 00:54:22.000
I'll tell you a story.

00:54:22.000 --> 00:54:26.000
I'll tell you the story so that we

00:54:26.000 --> 00:54:30.000
also begin to do this.

00:54:30.000 --> 00:54:34.000
So in Jan of

00:54:34.000 --> 00:54:38.000
20, my God, this COVID has made an entire

00:54:38.000 --> 00:54:42.000
year disappear.

00:54:42.000 --> 00:54:46.000
I'm going to tell you a story.

00:54:46.000 --> 00:54:50.000
An entire year disappeared.

00:54:50.000 --> 00:54:54.000
Jan of October of 2019,

00:54:54.000 --> 00:54:58.000
I was in Delhi and I met a couple there and the couple's name is

00:54:58.000 --> 00:55:02.000
the husband's name is Kalyan. Very simple guy.

00:55:02.000 --> 00:55:06.000
No particular gifting, no charisma.

00:55:06.000 --> 00:55:10.000
He's from south of India and his wife, Anandi, she was

00:55:10.000 --> 00:55:14.000
more like

00:55:14.000 --> 00:55:18.000
a horse.

00:55:18.000 --> 00:55:22.000
She was like a horse, raring to go.

00:55:22.000 --> 00:55:26.000
So they felt a call upon their lives to go to north India

00:55:26.000 --> 00:55:30.000
from south India, which is like going from Vancouver to Quebec.

00:55:30.000 --> 00:55:34.000
Completely different culture, language, everything. So they decided to go

00:55:34.000 --> 00:55:38.000
and they didn't know the language. So they decided to go and

00:55:38.000 --> 00:55:42.000
they decided to go to a particular city called Varanasi, which is the birthplace of Hinduism.

00:55:42.000 --> 00:55:46.000
And so they go there.

00:55:46.000 --> 00:55:50.000
And that was 15 years ago.

00:55:50.000 --> 00:55:54.000
Over the last 15 years,

00:55:54.000 --> 00:55:58.000
I'll come to the conclusion then trace back, over the last 15 years

00:55:58.000 --> 00:56:02.000
they've planted 800 churches.

00:56:02.000 --> 00:56:06.000
They don't know how to speak the language.

00:56:06.000 --> 00:56:10.000
Even now the husband, his Hindi is pretty bad.

00:56:10.000 --> 00:56:14.000
I speak better Hindi than him.

00:56:14.000 --> 00:56:18.000
But over 15 years, especially in the last 10 years, 800 churches.

00:56:18.000 --> 00:56:22.000
In one of India's

00:56:22.000 --> 00:56:26.000
toughest places, if you ask an Indian, it is one of the

00:56:26.000 --> 00:56:30.000
toughest places to plant churches because that province is

00:56:30.000 --> 00:56:34.000
so solidly Hindu and nationalistic

00:56:34.000 --> 00:56:38.000
that it is like going into the lion's den. But that is

00:56:38.000 --> 00:56:42.000
the place they planted 800 churches. So how do they go about it?

00:56:42.000 --> 00:56:46.000
So whenever they come to a city,

00:56:46.000 --> 00:56:50.000
they'll decide that, okay, for the next seven weeks, let's go

00:56:50.000 --> 00:56:54.000
walking through these streets and pray. And so for seven weeks, they'll

00:56:54.000 --> 00:56:58.000
pray. So when Jane texted me this morning and said,

00:56:58.000 --> 00:57:02.000
I want to feel like today is a significant day where walls

00:57:02.000 --> 00:57:06.000
have to come down, we've got to do something like we did at Jericho, I was thinking

00:57:06.000 --> 00:57:10.000
of what this couple do. So they'll go around

00:57:10.000 --> 00:57:14.000
the city walking the streets for seven weeks, praying against spiritual

00:57:14.000 --> 00:57:18.000
powers that they recognize or they feel

00:57:18.000 --> 00:57:22.000
affecting the city. For seven weeks they do that. After seven weeks,

00:57:22.000 --> 00:57:26.000
signs and miracles start happening.

00:57:26.000 --> 00:57:30.000
So there'll be people that are demonized, people that are sick who will come

00:57:30.000 --> 00:57:34.000
in their path. And when they come in their path, these guys will go

00:57:34.000 --> 00:57:38.000
and just pray. And no fancy prayer, no

00:57:38.000 --> 00:57:42.000
shouting, no great method or anything, just simple prayers.

00:57:42.000 --> 00:57:46.000
And invariably after seven weeks, healings and signs and miracles

00:57:46.000 --> 00:57:50.000
start happening and people get healed or people get set free.

00:57:50.000 --> 00:57:54.000
And now, instead of saying come to our church,

00:57:54.000 --> 00:57:58.000
which they have, they'll say,

00:57:58.000 --> 00:58:02.000
where do you come from? And the guys will say, we come from such and such a village in the province.

00:58:02.000 --> 00:58:06.000
They'll say, next time you go to your village, we'd love to come and see the village.

00:58:06.000 --> 00:58:10.000
And so they'll go to the village that the family hails from.

00:58:10.000 --> 00:58:14.000
And when they go to the village, they'll meet the rest

00:58:14.000 --> 00:58:18.000
of the village and the rest of the family and in the process begin to

00:58:18.000 --> 00:58:22.000
establish relationship with that village and with the family and start a house church

00:58:22.000 --> 00:58:26.000
in that village. And in the process, over the last

00:58:26.000 --> 00:58:30.000
15 years, they've established 800 churches.

00:58:30.000 --> 00:58:34.000
All these 800 churches are house churches.

00:58:34.000 --> 00:58:38.000
So the intent is not to,

00:58:38.000 --> 00:58:42.000
if you meet someone in Vancouver and you bring them to Acts 29,

00:58:42.000 --> 00:58:46.000
it is spread this out. Spread this out.

00:58:46.000 --> 00:58:50.000
When I met them, I was in awe. I was in awe partly

00:58:50.000 --> 00:58:54.000
because they looked so ordinary.

00:58:54.000 --> 00:58:58.000
That blew my mind, man. Seven weeks of prayer,

00:58:58.000 --> 00:59:02.000
signs of miracles start breaking out, partly because the prayer involves

00:59:02.000 --> 00:59:06.000
going through the city, looking at spiritual powers that need to be

00:59:06.000 --> 00:59:10.000
stripped, blessings that need to be spoken. Seven weeks of that, miracles

00:59:10.000 --> 00:59:14.000
and healings, people turning to Christ, going into their

00:59:14.000 --> 00:59:18.000
families, their friends, their relatives, into their villages, into their

00:59:18.000 --> 00:59:22.000
hometowns, establishing house churches there. And then coming back to the city,

00:59:22.000 --> 00:59:26.000
training these guys and sending them out.

00:59:26.000 --> 00:59:30.000
Let's pray.

00:59:36.000 --> 00:59:40.000
I personally feel, Father, that we've come to the conclusion

00:59:40.000 --> 00:59:44.000
of all that can be taught on revival.

00:59:44.000 --> 00:59:48.000
From now on, we can

00:59:48.000 --> 00:59:52.000
remind ourselves of this thing

00:59:52.000 --> 00:59:56.000
called a revival that you are releasing across the globe through us.

00:59:56.000 --> 01:00:00.000
But there's not much more

01:00:00.000 --> 01:00:04.000
that you, Holy Spirit, want to teach us about it.

01:00:04.000 --> 01:00:08.000
You're saying, that was four good months of teaching.

01:00:08.000 --> 01:00:12.000
Now go do.

01:00:12.000 --> 01:00:16.000
So I thank you that you're putting a stop to it, Holy Spirit.

01:00:16.000 --> 01:00:20.000
I don't know what your plans are next week, but it ain't going to be

01:00:20.000 --> 01:00:24.000
more to show us about revival.

01:00:24.000 --> 01:00:28.000
You're done with that.

01:00:28.000 --> 01:00:32.000
Now go do.

01:00:32.000 --> 01:00:36.000
May that be

01:00:36.000 --> 01:00:40.000
the slogan for the next

01:00:40.000 --> 01:00:44.000
eight months. Now go do.

01:00:44.000 --> 01:00:48.000
Now go do, now go do, now go do, now go do.

01:00:48.000 --> 01:00:52.000
Now go do.

01:00:52.000 --> 01:00:56.000
Go restore.

01:00:56.000 --> 01:01:00.000
So Father, we just take a minute to just

01:01:00.000 --> 01:01:04.000
commit ourselves to this.

01:01:12.000 --> 01:01:16.000
The signs and wonders thing has to be added to everything

01:01:16.000 --> 01:01:20.000
we've learned from Shekinah 1.

01:01:30.000 --> 01:01:34.000
So I'm just going to ask Derek to come and conclude.

01:01:34.000 --> 01:01:38.000
And

01:01:38.000 --> 01:01:42.000
anything else, Father?

01:01:46.000 --> 01:01:50.000
Anything else?

01:02:04.000 --> 01:02:08.000
Another term, another phrase I hear is boots on the ground.

01:02:08.000 --> 01:02:12.000
Boots on the ground. Now go do.

01:02:12.000 --> 01:02:16.000
Boots on the ground.

01:02:16.000 --> 01:02:20.000
And the third thing you're saying is not at the pace you've been doing it.

01:02:20.000 --> 01:02:24.000
Not at the pace you've been doing it. Father, you're not interested

01:02:24.000 --> 01:02:28.000
and this sounds kind of rude.

01:02:28.000 --> 01:02:32.000
I'll make you sound rude when I say this, but you're not interested in

01:02:32.000 --> 01:02:36.000
us coming and sharing a testimony of how we spoke to this person

01:02:36.000 --> 01:02:40.000
or how we spoke to that person and the person was touched or the person's heart is

01:02:40.000 --> 01:02:44.000
open. You're saying that's good, but that's not what I'm

01:02:44.000 --> 01:02:48.000
after. I'm after you now taking on my obsessive

01:02:48.000 --> 01:02:52.000
heart and having a passion that is so

01:02:52.000 --> 01:02:56.000
fiery, so fierce that you will not settle.

01:02:56.000 --> 01:03:00.000
That you will be the beautiful feet on the

01:03:00.000 --> 01:03:04.000
mountains. That this is no longer about a chance

01:03:04.000 --> 01:03:08.000
meeting, but this is about deliberate, intentional going out.

01:03:10.000 --> 01:03:16.000
Yeah, I'll let Derek come up.

01:03:16.000 --> 01:03:20.000
There's something more you want to say about that, but I don't know what you want to say.

01:03:20.000 --> 01:03:24.000
I don't have the words for it.

01:03:24.000 --> 01:03:28.000
I might come up after Derek, Father.

01:03:28.000 --> 01:03:52.000
Father, I thank you that

01:03:52.000 --> 01:03:56.000
everything we've been hearing is for now.

01:03:56.000 --> 01:04:00.000
It's very much for now, Aba.

01:04:08.000 --> 01:04:12.000
Father, we just want to take a minute or two to

01:04:12.000 --> 01:04:16.000
talk to you, to set our hearts

01:04:16.000 --> 01:04:20.000
to the commission that you've given us.

01:04:20.000 --> 01:04:24.000
You're telling us that

01:04:24.000 --> 01:04:28.000
you're telling us this is what I've done always.

01:04:28.000 --> 01:04:32.000
I restore people back to how

01:04:32.000 --> 01:04:36.000
I created them, and I want to end brokenness.

01:04:36.000 --> 01:04:40.000
I restore and I end brokenness. I restore

01:04:40.000 --> 01:04:44.000
people and I end brokenness. And I do that

01:04:44.000 --> 01:04:48.000
through ordinary people like you. In Mark

01:04:48.000 --> 01:04:52.000
Chapter 16, it says, anyone who believes. And Aba,

01:04:52.000 --> 01:04:56.000
we believe the words that we've been hearing. We believe it, Aba.

01:04:56.000 --> 01:05:00.000
This is who you are. This is your very nature.

01:05:00.000 --> 01:05:04.000
Science, miracles, wonders, so that you

01:05:04.000 --> 01:05:08.000
restore people, so that you end brokenness. It's your very nature,

01:05:08.000 --> 01:05:12.000
Aba. It's your very nature. And so

01:05:12.000 --> 01:05:16.000
we say yes to your commission to us. And Aba,

01:05:16.000 --> 01:05:20.000
we're not looking, as Jacob said, we're not looking for stories.

01:05:20.000 --> 01:05:24.000
We're not looking for things to share.

01:05:24.000 --> 01:05:28.000
We're looking for

01:05:28.000 --> 01:05:32.000
where do you want to go? Where do you want me to go? Where do you want me to go?

01:05:32.000 --> 01:05:36.000
Who do you want me to talk to? How do I pray?

01:05:36.000 --> 01:05:40.000
And I'm going to pray. And I will expect it, Aba,

01:05:40.000 --> 01:05:44.000
that we will expect it as a people. Because you're the one who is doing it.

01:05:44.000 --> 01:05:48.000
Your spirit is jealous over the city. When Jane

01:05:48.000 --> 01:05:52.000
started, she said, she said, the city has been given

01:05:52.000 --> 01:05:56.000
to you. The city has been given to you. And so we

01:05:56.000 --> 01:06:00.000
say, yeah Aba, I look at the city, Aba. We look at the city.

01:06:00.000 --> 01:06:04.000
We look at the city.

01:06:04.000 --> 01:06:08.000
The city has been given to us. Because the city

01:06:08.000 --> 01:06:12.000
is yours. Before there was anyone here, you were here.

01:06:12.000 --> 01:06:16.000
And the people in the city will be restored

01:06:16.000 --> 01:06:20.000
by the name of Jesus. The people in the city

01:06:20.000 --> 01:06:24.000
will be restored. And the brokenness in the city will end, Aba.

01:06:28.000 --> 01:06:32.000
Father, so we say yes to the commission

01:06:32.000 --> 01:06:36.000
that we've been given. And we want to go.

01:06:36.000 --> 01:06:40.000
And so we look at the, we don't, Aba, we don't want to look at

01:06:40.000 --> 01:06:44.000
the next Saturday today. Next Saturday will come. But I want to look

01:06:44.000 --> 01:06:48.000
at today. I want to look at today. I want to look at

01:06:48.000 --> 01:06:52.000
tomorrow. Because this is for now, Aba. Because if

01:06:52.000 --> 01:06:56.000
we wait, that's not what you want of us.

01:06:56.000 --> 01:07:00.000
It's for now. It's for now. So church,

01:07:00.000 --> 01:07:04.000
this is for today. This is for today. This is for

01:07:04.000 --> 01:07:08.000
now. And Aba, you want us

01:07:08.000 --> 01:07:12.000
to respond to this. So I don't know much, but I'm just going to

01:07:12.000 --> 01:07:16.000
ask all of us, where we are at our homes, to lift

01:07:16.000 --> 01:07:20.000
our hands to you, even in this room,

01:07:20.000 --> 01:07:24.000
in response to the teaching, in response to the truth,

01:07:24.000 --> 01:07:28.000
in response to your word, saying

01:07:28.000 --> 01:07:32.000
I agree with your will for this city. I agree

01:07:32.000 --> 01:07:36.000
with your will for the people, so that those who are broken,

01:07:36.000 --> 01:07:40.000
their brokenness will end, so that people

01:07:40.000 --> 01:07:44.000
will be restored. In my raising of this hand, Aba, in our

01:07:44.000 --> 01:07:48.000
raising of these hands, we are saying yes.

01:07:48.000 --> 01:07:52.000
And we see your power that is waiting to

01:07:52.000 --> 01:07:56.000
flow through us, because you're the one who is doing it.

01:07:56.000 --> 01:08:00.000
Jesus' name.

01:08:10.000 --> 01:08:14.000
Guys,

01:08:14.000 --> 01:08:18.000
as we sing this song,

01:08:18.000 --> 01:08:22.000
to conclude, if necessary, don't sing it.

01:08:22.000 --> 01:08:26.000
Just listen to the words, then sing it when you think you want to sing it.

01:08:26.000 --> 01:08:30.000
This is not a song that I'm going to sing,

01:08:30.000 --> 01:08:34.000
but I'm going to sing it for you.

01:08:34.000 --> 01:08:38.000
I'm going to sing it for you.

01:08:38.000 --> 01:08:42.000
This is not a song that I'm asking for

01:08:42.000 --> 01:08:46.000
participation in. It's a song that I'm asking

01:08:46.000 --> 01:08:50.000
as a response or as a prayer from our heart.

01:08:50.000 --> 01:08:54.000
So sing it only if you need to, otherwise

01:08:54.000 --> 01:08:58.000
listen to the words and commit to God as the song is being sung.

01:09:08.000 --> 01:09:12.000
Father,

01:09:12.000 --> 01:09:16.000
I just say that

01:09:16.000 --> 01:09:20.000
even as I sing it

01:09:20.000 --> 01:09:24.000
on behalf of others,

01:09:24.000 --> 01:09:28.000
I'm going to sing it

01:09:28.000 --> 01:09:32.000
as I sing it.

01:09:32.000 --> 01:09:36.000
I'm going to sing it as I sing it

01:09:36.000 --> 01:09:40.000
on behalf of others and for myself.

01:09:40.000 --> 01:09:44.000
Father, help me with my...

01:09:44.000 --> 01:09:48.000
actually, first of all, I just want to lay down my fears.

01:09:48.000 --> 01:09:52.000
As I was listening to this message, I was like, but what about what other people think?

01:09:52.000 --> 01:09:56.000
It so often stunts me.

01:09:56.000 --> 01:10:00.000
Father, I just want to lay that down.

01:10:00.000 --> 01:10:04.000
Worrying about others' expectations of how I should be

01:10:04.000 --> 01:10:08.000
or act or behave. I just lay that down. Again, I lay it down, Father,

01:10:08.000 --> 01:10:12.000
at your feet. And I just say, Father,

01:10:12.000 --> 01:10:16.000
as I sing, I want to trample on it.

01:10:16.000 --> 01:10:20.000
I want to trample on it. And I'll do it again and again as many

01:10:20.000 --> 01:10:24.000
times as I need to. So you've got to

01:10:24.000 --> 01:10:28.000
help me with this Holy Spirit. Because as I do that, I know

01:10:28.000 --> 01:10:32.000
that you will clothe me with your boldness. That I don't need to try. I don't need to

01:10:32.000 --> 01:10:36.000
work hard at it. But this you want me to do.

01:10:36.000 --> 01:10:40.000
And if others wanted to, then you're inviting

01:10:40.000 --> 01:10:44.000
them to do the same. And that you're going to clothe them with

01:10:44.000 --> 01:10:48.000
power, with boldness, with opportunities.

01:10:48.000 --> 01:11:00.000
Jesus blinded all my darkness.

01:11:00.000 --> 01:11:04.000
He sparked my heart within.

01:11:04.000 --> 01:11:10.000
His grace and mercy lit a passion.

01:11:10.000 --> 01:11:14.000
Consume my sin.

01:11:14.000 --> 01:11:20.000
Jesus blinded all my darkness.

01:11:20.000 --> 01:11:24.000
He sparked my heart within.

01:11:24.000 --> 01:11:28.000
His grace and mercy lit a passion.

01:11:28.000 --> 01:11:32.000
Consume my sin.

01:11:32.000 --> 01:11:36.000
Now like a city on a hilltop,

01:11:36.000 --> 01:11:40.000
I'll shine through the night.

01:11:40.000 --> 01:11:44.000
I am a light made for your glory.

01:11:44.000 --> 01:11:48.000
I will not hide.

01:11:48.000 --> 01:11:52.000
Now like a city on a hilltop,

01:11:52.000 --> 01:11:56.000
I'll shine through the night.

01:11:56.000 --> 01:12:00.000
Oh, I'll shine through the night.

01:12:00.000 --> 01:12:04.000
I am a light made for your glory.

01:12:04.000 --> 01:12:08.000
I will not hide.

01:12:08.000 --> 01:12:12.000
As I've been touched by a fire

01:12:12.000 --> 01:12:16.000
full of the world, come and watch me burn.

01:12:16.000 --> 01:12:20.000
To sound it from the roof top.

01:12:20.000 --> 01:12:24.000
To sound it to the roof top.

01:12:24.000 --> 01:12:28.000
To shout it till everyone has heard.

01:12:28.000 --> 01:12:32.000
Oh, I've been touched by a fire

01:12:32.000 --> 01:12:36.000
full of the world, come and watch me burn.

01:12:36.000 --> 01:12:40.000
To shout it from the roof top.

01:12:40.000 --> 01:12:44.000
To shout it till everyone has heard.

01:12:44.000 --> 01:12:48.000
Till everyone has heard.

01:12:52.000 --> 01:12:56.000
This love will never be extinguished.

01:12:56.000 --> 01:13:00.000
It's alive and wild and free.

01:13:00.000 --> 01:13:04.000
I'm overtaken by his power.

01:13:04.000 --> 01:13:08.000
His spirit in me.

01:13:08.000 --> 01:13:12.000
This love, this love will never be

01:13:12.000 --> 01:13:16.000
extinguished.

01:13:16.000 --> 01:13:20.000
It's alive and wild and free.

01:13:20.000 --> 01:13:24.000
I'm overtaken by his power.

01:13:24.000 --> 01:13:28.000
His spirit in me.

01:13:28.000 --> 01:13:32.000
His spirit in me.

01:13:32.000 --> 01:13:36.000
His spirit in me.

01:13:36.000 --> 01:13:40.000
As I've been touched by

01:13:40.000 --> 01:13:44.000
a fire. So let the world come

01:13:44.000 --> 01:13:48.000
and watch me burn.

01:13:48.000 --> 01:13:52.000
Oh, I've been touched by a fire.

01:13:52.000 --> 01:13:56.000
I'll shout it till everyone has heard.

01:13:56.000 --> 01:14:00.000
Oh, I've been touched by a fire.

01:14:00.000 --> 01:14:04.000
So let the world come and watch me burn.

01:14:04.000 --> 01:14:08.000
I've been touched by

01:14:08.000 --> 01:14:12.000
a fire. To shout it from the roof top.

01:14:12.000 --> 01:14:16.000
And shout it till everyone has heard.

01:14:16.000 --> 01:14:20.000
Jesus has changed my life. His name be lifted high.

01:14:20.000 --> 01:14:24.000
This holy fire's burning inside of me.

01:14:24.000 --> 01:14:28.000
I cannot hold it inside. I cannot keep it quiet.

01:14:28.000 --> 01:14:32.000
This holy fire's burning inside of me.

01:14:32.000 --> 01:14:36.000
Jesus has changed my life.

01:14:36.000 --> 01:14:40.000
His name be lifted high. This holy fire's burning inside of me.

01:14:40.000 --> 01:14:44.000
I cannot hold it inside.

01:14:44.000 --> 01:14:48.000
I cannot keep it quiet.

01:14:48.000 --> 01:14:52.000
This holy fire's burning inside of me.

01:14:52.000 --> 01:14:56.000
And I've been touched by a fire.

01:14:56.000 --> 01:15:00.000
So let the world come and watch me burn.

01:15:00.000 --> 01:15:04.000
I've shouted

01:15:04.000 --> 01:15:08.000
from the roof top.

01:15:08.000 --> 01:15:12.000
Shout it till everyone has heard.

01:15:12.000 --> 01:15:16.000
We'll shout it from the roof top.

01:15:16.000 --> 01:15:20.000
And shout it till everyone has heard.

01:15:20.000 --> 01:15:24.000
Everyone has heard.

01:15:24.000 --> 01:15:28.000
Everyone has heard.

01:15:28.000 --> 01:15:32.000
Everyone has heard.

01:15:32.000 --> 01:15:36.000
Thank you guys.

01:15:36.000 --> 01:15:40.000
Ciao for now!
