1. When you are spiritually complacent you instantly begin to degenerate. 1:32
  2. 1:12 At that time I will search Jerusalem with lamps and punish those who are complacent, who are like wine left on its dregs, who think, ‘The Lord will do nothing, either good or bad
  3. Complacency is violent. It brings into your life a spirit of poverty – that depletes or impoverishes everything from the quality of your marriages to money to ministry!

  5. The opposite of complacency is “first-love”. 2:4
  6. Everyday, are you thirsty for more of God? Do you need persuasion? A hungry person does not have to be persuaded. Word, Worship, Prayer and Church are some external measures.
  7. Are you thirsty for God? Does it show in hunger for greater obedience and godliness?
  8. Prevent complacency – by living a disciplined, disentangled, detached and discerning life 2 2:3-6
  9. Complacency is always invisible till passion shows up and exposes it. Spend time with passionate followers of Christ
  10. Jesus said – Blessed are they that hunger and thirst…for they shall be satisfied. 5:4
