The time between crucifixion and the 00:00:10.160 --> 00:00:14.720 resurrection of Jesus Christ, we don't really think about or talk about that 00:00:14.720 --> 00:00:19.560 time much because on Good Fridays we talk about Good Friday, the death and 00:00:19.560 --> 00:00:24.840 crucifixion of Jesus and then on Sunday we talk about Easter Sunday and 00:00:24.840 --> 00:00:31.400 the time between the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. 00:00:31.400 --> 00:00:45.480 That was a dark, dreadful, fear-filled, sorrowful time for the disciples and 00:00:45.480 --> 00:00:52.600 those who knew Jesus. So we almost quickly jump from Good Friday to 00:00:52.600 --> 00:00:58.840 resurrection Sunday but the time between that is a time of great hardship where 00:00:58.840 --> 00:01:03.680 some of them left everything that they knew. Jesus came by, Jesus said follow me 00:01:03.680 --> 00:01:09.440 and they followed Jesus only to realize that this Jesus that they thought would 00:01:09.440 --> 00:01:22.360 save them is now dead. A few of them saw Jesus just a few days ago in his glory 00:01:22.520 --> 00:01:27.920 Jesus in his glory they saw him and then a couple days later they look at Jesus 00:01:27.920 --> 00:01:33.840 and his body is motionless, it's not moving. They knew Jesus how he looked, how 00:01:33.840 --> 00:01:39.680 he was, certain things that were very unique about Jesus and now on Friday 00:01:39.680 --> 00:01:46.960 when they looked at Jesus his face was unrecognizable and so when they go into 00:01:46.960 --> 00:01:52.760 Saturday and leading up to Sunday it is a difficult time for the disciples 00:01:52.760 --> 00:01:57.800 because they don't know what to do. Now it's not just that Jesus died it is also 00:01:57.800 --> 00:02:01.920 that everything that they know all of the systems all of the power hierarchies 00:02:01.920 --> 00:02:08.920 they're all after them and so they hide themselves in a room probably locking it 00:02:08.920 --> 00:02:15.720 up probably huddled together. Isn't it good to see Wayne? Yes it is. Good to have you here Wayne. 00:02:15.720 --> 00:02:21.680 So that's what's happening with the disciples a time of darkness 00:02:21.680 --> 00:02:31.200 and Maurice too. Both of them. So it's happening and they know that 00:02:31.200 --> 00:02:36.760 they're in a time of difficulty and then on the other side you have the power 00:02:36.760 --> 00:02:41.760 structures you have the Sanhedrin you have the Pharisees all taking a step 00:02:41.760 --> 00:02:48.440 back and now thinking he's done because Jesus is dead and the devil Satan and 00:02:48.440 --> 00:02:54.600 the powers of darkness thought that's it. So that's the reality of Friday, Saturday 00:02:54.600 --> 00:03:00.200 leading up to Sunday and we cannot forget that. We cannot forget the fact 00:03:00.200 --> 00:03:04.880 that for two days three days there was a time when they when the disciples were 00:03:04.880 --> 00:03:12.280 afraid fearful of what was happening and then you see these women who are going 00:03:12.280 --> 00:03:16.720 to the tomb. Why? Because they wanted to apply ointments they wanted to go there 00:03:16.720 --> 00:03:22.240 and see Jesus. It says they they were seeking after Jesus. They get there. 00:03:22.240 --> 00:03:27.240 Only to realize now that this one stone that they were talking about on their way to the tomb 00:03:27.240 --> 00:03:33.000 how will we get this stone rolled away so that we can go into the tomb? That this 00:03:33.000 --> 00:03:37.320 very stone that they were talking about it's been rolled away and all of a 00:03:37.320 --> 00:03:42.600 sudden at that point they realize something has happened. They don't know 00:03:42.600 --> 00:03:47.360 what has happened but something has happened and then the disciples come to 00:03:47.360 --> 00:03:51.960 know about it. Two of them run to the tomb only to discover that it is true 00:03:51.960 --> 00:03:56.240 the only thing that's left here are the linen clothes and the handkerchief 00:03:56.240 --> 00:04:07.560 neatly folded kept aside and Jesus is not there. And then we know everything 00:04:07.560 --> 00:04:13.240 that happened after that but I wanted to stay there for a minute to 00:04:13.240 --> 00:04:19.000 recognize that before the resurrection of Jesus Christ the disciples went 00:04:19.000 --> 00:04:24.640 through a time like that and then all of a sudden in an instant God proved 00:04:24.800 --> 00:04:32.440 himself true and Jesus resurrected from the dead. He was truly dead. All of the 00:04:32.440 --> 00:04:38.760 powers of darkness all of Satan's schemes all of the Sanhedrin schemes 00:04:38.760 --> 00:04:46.040 every political power that tried to put him down obliterated in a second. Why? 00:04:46.040 --> 00:04:51.880 Because God said my son will now rise up and Jesus Christ rose up from the dead. 00:04:51.880 --> 00:04:56.920 What we're going to talk about today look at today is how does this apply to 00:04:56.920 --> 00:05:00.760 us and this is not a new thing because some of us who've been Christians for 00:05:00.760 --> 00:05:07.920 years we have heard this many times but practically how do we live a lifestyle 00:05:07.920 --> 00:05:12.960 that aligns with the resurrection of Jesus. That's why I've titled this 00:05:12.960 --> 00:05:17.880 resurrection lifestyle because resurrection of Jesus Christ is not an 00:05:18.080 --> 00:05:23.560 event it's not just an event it is a lifestyle for us to partake in. It's a 00:05:23.560 --> 00:05:30.440 lifestyle for us to live in every day. It's not just an event it's a lifestyle. 00:05:30.440 --> 00:05:35.400 So we'll read a few verses now and then we'll go from there. Let's first read 00:05:35.400 --> 00:05:56.240 Acts chapter 224. Acts chapter 224. It says God raised him from the dead freeing 00:05:56.240 --> 00:06:01.240 him from the agony of death because it was impossible to keep its hold on him. 00:06:02.080 --> 00:06:08.600 Acts 224. But God raised Jesus from the dead freeing Jesus from the agony of 00:06:08.600 --> 00:06:13.760 death because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on Jesus. So the 00:06:13.760 --> 00:06:20.120 fact that Jesus died for our sins is one thing but the fact that he resurrected 00:06:20.120 --> 00:06:26.400 is another because if Jesus said that I'm going to die for the sins of the 00:06:26.400 --> 00:06:31.200 world and he died okay he died for the sins of the world but it had to be 00:06:31.200 --> 00:06:37.240 a perfect man without any sins who was going to die and the resurrection was 00:06:37.240 --> 00:06:42.880 the proof of the fact that Jesus was sinless and that death could not hold 00:06:42.880 --> 00:06:49.800 him down. The death of Jesus Christ by itself is not proof. The resurrection of 00:06:49.800 --> 00:06:58.600 Jesus now is proof of the fact that death tried to keep him down. Powers tried 00:06:58.600 --> 00:07:05.920 to keep him down but nothing could and he rose up from the dead. So that's one. 00:07:05.920 --> 00:07:23.520 Number two. Let's read Romans chapter 8 11. Romans chapter 8 11. If the spirit of 00:07:23.520 --> 00:07:28.520 him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you he who raised Christ Jesus 00:07:28.520 --> 00:07:32.920 from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his 00:07:32.920 --> 00:07:38.640 spirit who dwells in you and if the spirit of him who raised Jesus from the 00:07:38.640 --> 00:07:46.160 dead is living in you he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life 00:07:46.160 --> 00:07:51.120 to your mortal bodies because of his spirit who lives in you. So it's the 00:07:51.120 --> 00:07:57.360 spirit of God that raised Jesus from the dead. The spirit of God raised Jesus 00:07:57.360 --> 00:08:01.880 from the dead. So on one hand we said death could not hold him anymore and he 00:08:01.880 --> 00:08:06.920 was sinless and now the spirit of God raised Jesus to life. Third verse we're 00:08:06.920 --> 00:08:10.800 going to look at is 1st Corinthians 15 14. You don't need to go there I'll just 00:08:10.800 --> 00:08:15.520 read it out loud. It says and if Christ has not been raised this is Paul 00:08:15.520 --> 00:08:20.360 speaking and if Christ has not been raised then our preaching is in vain and 00:08:20.560 --> 00:08:33.320 your faith is in vain. The enormity of the resurrection. Jesus died yes but he 00:08:33.320 --> 00:08:41.480 rose again and when he rose again he was risen by the power of God and it proved 00:08:41.480 --> 00:08:47.120 that Jesus was sinless and death couldn't hold him and now we can say 00:08:47.120 --> 00:08:52.120 everything that we preach everything we stand up for everything that we know as 00:08:52.120 --> 00:08:57.120 convictions in our mind all of that is rooted in this one thing that Jesus 00:08:57.120 --> 00:09:03.000 Christ rose from the dead. All of it everything that we do all of our 00:09:03.000 --> 00:09:10.720 existence is based on this one truth that Jesus Christ is not dead anymore. 00:09:10.720 --> 00:09:19.400 That Jesus rose from the dead. Everything that we put our lives to 00:09:19.400 --> 00:09:26.200 everything that we believe in our hope for the future what we know will happen 00:09:26.200 --> 00:09:33.080 the moment we die on earth all of it goes back to this one fundamental truth 00:09:33.080 --> 00:09:40.120 that Jesus Christ is alive that he is he has risen that he is not dead he is a 00:09:40.120 --> 00:09:49.440 living God and so that being the truth that being the reality how do we live 00:09:51.160 --> 00:09:57.120 with what we're gonna call today resurrection lifestyle. Resurrection 00:09:57.120 --> 00:10:02.680 lifestyle how do we live like that so we look at a few different things and as I 00:10:02.680 --> 00:10:08.000 go through this list I want us to apply this practically in our lives think 00:10:08.000 --> 00:10:16.240 about where we are at in life whatever we are doing how can we apply the 00:10:16.240 --> 00:10:20.920 resurrection principles of God in our lives. The thing about resurrection is 00:10:20.920 --> 00:10:25.720 it's not new to God it doesn't just happen in Matthew chapter 28 and Luke 00:10:25.720 --> 00:10:31.520 chapter 24 and John chapter 20 this is God's nature so the first thing is our 00:10:31.520 --> 00:10:37.880 God is a resurrection God it is in his nature and it is something he has done 00:10:37.880 --> 00:10:48.520 always our God is a resurrection God he gives life to that which is dead and so 00:10:48.520 --> 00:10:53.200 it's not a new thing that happened when God said my son will rise up from the 00:10:53.200 --> 00:11:01.080 dead in three days no this is the nature of God this is a very character of God I 00:11:01.160 --> 00:11:07.640 want us to look at it this way when God looks at a desert he doesn't see a 00:11:07.640 --> 00:11:16.720 desert when God looks at a desert he sees life that can grow there when God 00:11:16.720 --> 00:11:23.120 looks at anything that is dry he doesn't see dryness he sees the life that can 00:11:23.120 --> 00:11:27.080 spring out of the dryness and so everything that we're going to talk 00:11:27.080 --> 00:11:30.680 about today is not just about resurrection Sunday and what happened 00:11:30.680 --> 00:11:34.640 then but everything we are going to talk about today is the reality that is very 00:11:34.640 --> 00:11:42.000 much ours is the reality that we live by every day that I serve a God who is now 00:11:42.000 --> 00:11:48.240 risen he is not dead anymore and in his very nature he gives life and in his 00:11:48.240 --> 00:11:54.960 very nature life flows and that's who he is and because that he that is he who 00:11:55.000 --> 00:12:02.880 what did I say that but because that is who he is now now everything changes for 00:12:02.880 --> 00:12:07.440 me because I now know that my god let's read Isaiah chapter 35 I was looking at 00:12:07.440 --> 00:12:15.360 this verse yesterday and think about it think of it pictures this in your mind I 00:12:15.360 --> 00:12:24.840 say at chapter 35 1 & 2 this is the God we serve he brings life into barrenness 00:12:24.840 --> 00:12:34.440 so Isaiah 35 1 & 2 wilderness and desert will sing joyously the badlands will 00:12:34.440 --> 00:12:43.520 celebrate and flower wilderness and desert when God looks at it he sees a 00:12:43.520 --> 00:12:51.960 joyous singing because life will come the badlands when God looks at looks at 00:12:52.040 --> 00:12:59.240 he sees celebration and flowering this is the very nature of our God the one 00:12:59.240 --> 00:13:05.360 who who we call master he is the one who gives life wherever he goes where he is 00:13:05.360 --> 00:13:12.640 present life overflows and all through the scripture we see this let's read 00:13:12.640 --> 00:13:16.520 Colossians chapter 3 1 to 3 00:13:19.840 --> 00:13:24.920 if then you have been raised with Christ seek the things that are above where 00:13:24.920 --> 00:13:29.360 Christ is seated at the right hand of God set your minds plants will come up trees will come up this is the very nature of the God we 00:14:15.800 --> 00:14:21.520 serve and we cannot run away from it all through the scripture as we when we see 00:14:21.520 --> 00:14:29.000 the Genesis creation story life we see times when in the Old Testament where a 00:14:29.000 --> 00:14:36.320 dead boy was resurrected back to life we then see Paul and Jesus going to the 00:14:36.320 --> 00:14:43.760 tomb Lazarus life we see later on Dorcas Paul or Peter looking at Dorcas 00:14:43.760 --> 00:14:51.640 life this is not a one-time event this is the very nature of God this is who 00:14:51.640 --> 00:15:04.000 he is when he comes life comes when he is there life flows this is the God we 00:15:04.000 --> 00:15:13.280 serve and regardless of how my life situation is where my king is where 00:15:13.280 --> 00:15:22.480 your king is he is reminding us today that his life flows into those situations 00:15:22.480 --> 00:15:30.560 that his life gives birth where whatever is barren he gives life to whatever is 00:15:30.560 --> 00:15:36.000 dry will not remain dry anymore and this is not something that he has to 00:15:36.000 --> 00:15:43.800 bring to existent died and in Acts chapter 40 it's Peter but Peter put them all outside and 00:17:55.400 --> 00:18:02.920 knelt down and prayed and turning to the body he said Tabitha arise and she 00:18:02.920 --> 00:18:08.160 opened her eyes and when she saw Peter she sat up so the resurrection power 00:18:08.160 --> 00:18:15.640 of God that is flowing from him every second every day that is available for 00:18:15.880 --> 00:18:21.200 us that resurrection power breaks into our situations that resurrection power 00:18:21.200 --> 00:18:28.320 is accelerated in response to my faith in response to your faith so when Peter 00:18:28.320 --> 00:18:34.080 was there and he's looking at Dorcas she is dead but in response to the faith 00:18:34.080 --> 00:18:40.840 that Peter has knowing fully well that this Jesus who appeared to me a few days 00:18:40.840 --> 00:18:45.400 ago when I thought that I messed up big time he came and he said feed my sheep 00:18:45.400 --> 00:18:49.320 and then he filled me with his spirit and then he said go to the ends of the 00:18:49.320 --> 00:18:55.440 world and proclaim I know this Jesus he lives in me and in the name of Jesus 00:18:55.440 --> 00:19:03.480 Christ rise up and therefore in response to the faith that Peter had power broke 00:19:03.480 --> 00:19:10.560 through and so again we're going to go slow there's no need to rush throughout not give life that's his 00:19:56.220 --> 00:20:06.300 nature and so we trust in his nature and we see in the physical who he actually 00:20:06.300 --> 00:20:16.860 is Ezekiel chapter 37 Ezekiel chapter 37 maybe we won't read it because I 00:20:16.860 --> 00:20:23.460 remember a few days ago or a couple weeks ago we read that together but each 00:20:23.540 --> 00:20:31.660 time resurrection power is activated is in work the agent of transformation for 00:20:31.660 --> 00:20:37.500 each instance is the Spirit of God so the agent of transformation in each 00:20:37.500 --> 00:20:44.300 instance is the Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead he is the agent of 00:20:44.300 --> 00:20:49.720 transformation in each instance so in Ezekiel 37 we don't need to read it 00:20:49.720 --> 00:20:55.960 verses 4 to 7 what does God say Ezekiel prophesied to the bones and then 00:20:55.960 --> 00:21:05.200 which is 9 10 God says now prophesied to the breath spirit to give life to the 00:21:05.200 --> 00:21:10.000 bones around which now there is flesh because he prophesied already to the 00:21:10.000 --> 00:21:16.960 bones Ezekiel 37 and so from that story here is what we're going to see okay so 00:21:16.960 --> 00:21:24.600 from that story where God says here is what you need to speak and he speaks 00:21:24.600 --> 00:21:28.800 here is the principle we are deriving from that the principle is the Spirit of 00:21:28.800 --> 00:21:36.920 God has directions for us and when we command the operations of the spirit 00:21:36.920 --> 00:21:42.800 based on his directions then life cannot be stopped so the Spirit of God who is 00:21:42.960 --> 00:21:49.320 doing this work he has his directions on how it is to be done and when we align 00:21:49.320 --> 00:21:55.200 with his spirit and we hear him say prophesy now to the bones prophesy now 00:21:55.200 --> 00:22:01.280 to the to the breath and when we are in alignment with the directions of the 00:22:01.280 --> 00:22:10.340 spirit with the laws of the spirit then it is impossible to stop life so we 00:22:10.340 --> 00:22:16.380 align ourselves with the directions the directives that we get from the spirit 00:22:21.140 --> 00:22:30.580 I'll give you an example a few days ago when we were talking with a person Mark 00:22:30.580 --> 00:22:34.300 and I were there we're talking with this person and Mark was talking with 00:22:34.300 --> 00:22:40.500 someone else and then I was talking and then all of a sudden felt God say his 00:22:40.500 --> 00:22:48.780 heart is so open you now need to tell him about me and I started telling him 00:22:48.780 --> 00:22:56.500 about Jesus and as I'm telling about talking to him about Jesus and sharing 00:22:56.500 --> 00:23:04.140 what Jesus has done sharing what how his life can be he looked like this his eyes 00:23:04.140 --> 00:23:10.220 were like this and he said no way he can forgive sins I said yes he can he said 00:23:10.220 --> 00:23:19.820 no way he can forgive sins I said yes he can forgive sins every time we talk 00:23:19.820 --> 00:23:23.780 with someone we don't do it but that day with that particular person God said 00:23:23.780 --> 00:23:30.100 his heart is so open you have to speak it right now and we didn't do anything 00:23:30.100 --> 00:23:36.420 we just spoke we just said what Jesus said very quickly he said I receive him laws of the the spirit we align 00:24:13.180 --> 00:24:18.580 with that and then we command from there then we declare from there and then it 00:24:18.580 --> 00:24:25.700 is impossible to stop what God wants to do the resurrection power of God 00:24:25.700 --> 00:24:33.860 orchestrated progressed by the power of God but by the power of his spirit so 00:24:33.860 --> 00:24:40.180 when I speak this 00:25:32.340 --> 00:25:36.860 is the time for this to happen not just in your life this is the time for this 00:25:36.860 --> 00:25:41.780 to happen for everyone you meet because there is a
