00:00:30.020 --> 00:00:32.180 How can we distribute healing? 00:00:32.180 --> 00:00:38.620 By healing I don't mean just sick bodies being healed. 00:00:38.620 --> 00:00:40.040 It's demonic deliverance. 00:00:40.040 --> 00:00:43.660 It's mental problems being healed. 00:00:43.660 --> 00:00:50.820 So when we were talking about healing last week we said that how is it that we can seek 00:00:50.820 --> 00:00:55.420 healing for ourselves and seek healing for others? 00:00:55.420 --> 00:01:00.540 And instead of teaching about healing, we felt that what we needed to do is teach about 00:01:00.540 --> 00:01:04.100 how do we get the power of God to work through our lives. 00:01:04.100 --> 00:01:06.740 That might be a better way to go about it. 00:01:06.740 --> 00:01:14.100 So rather than focus on what healing is about, why not look at what is required to get a 00:01:14.100 --> 00:01:18.860 surge of power into our lives that stays permanent? 00:01:18.860 --> 00:01:22.620 That's where we want to go, so that's why I'm calling it Power Search. 00:01:22.620 --> 00:01:32.220 So if you look at Acts 1, verse 8, Acts 1, 8, it says there, 00:01:32.220 --> 00:01:36.300 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. 00:01:36.300 --> 00:01:41.980 So almost everything in the kingdom is a result of the work or the power of the Holy Spirit. 00:01:41.980 --> 00:01:44.980 And so Jesus before leaving says in Acts 1, verse 8, 00:01:44.980 --> 00:01:48.860 Hey guys, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. 00:01:48.860 --> 00:01:52.380 And so it's not like we haven't received the Holy Spirit, but where is the surge? 00:01:52.380 --> 00:01:55.180 Where is the power? 00:01:55.180 --> 00:01:56.180 That's what we want to look at. 00:01:56.180 --> 00:02:00.700 What does it take to have a power surge affect your life and my life? 00:02:00.700 --> 00:02:06.140 Because he's present and he's present in his fullness, so how come it's not showing? 00:02:06.140 --> 00:02:11.020 How come it's not showing in words and deeds? 00:02:11.020 --> 00:02:14.680 Our words should carry an impact and our actions should carry an impact. 00:02:14.680 --> 00:02:15.680 How come it's not showing? 00:02:36.700 --> 00:02:39.700 Show me the beef. 00:02:39.700 --> 00:02:42.780 Yeah? 00:02:42.780 --> 00:02:46.100 Can't understand Beyond Burgers, but let's not go there. 00:02:46.100 --> 00:02:51.100 So Acts 1, verse 8, But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. 00:02:51.620 --> 00:03:02.620 So one thing is established, that power is connected to the Spirit. 00:03:02.620 --> 00:03:03.620 That's how it works. 00:03:03.620 --> 00:03:16.620 And then if you look at Luke 5, 17, Luke 5, 17, Luke 5, 17, let's look at Luke 5, 17. 00:03:17.140 --> 00:03:22.540 Luke 5, 17, One day he was teaching the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who had come from 00:03:22.540 --> 00:03:27.380 every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem and was sitting there, and the power 00:03:27.380 --> 00:03:30.140 of the Lord was present to heal the sick. 00:03:30.140 --> 00:03:31.520 Crazy script, right? 00:03:31.520 --> 00:03:34.720 It says that the power of the Lord was present to heal. 00:03:34.720 --> 00:03:41.720 The power of the Lord was present to heal. 00:03:41.820 --> 00:03:48.820 Which means that the Spirit of the Lord was present to heal. 00:03:50.160 --> 00:03:57.160 The thing is, Jesus knew how to, knew when the Spirit was planning to do what. 00:04:06.920 --> 00:04:11.400 Jesus knew when the Spirit was planning to do what. 00:04:11.400 --> 00:04:15.080 He saw how in that particular scripture he says, and the power of God was present to 00:04:15.080 --> 00:04:16.440 heal. 00:04:16.440 --> 00:04:22.200 I'm sure the Holy Spirit was there always, but why in Luke 5, 17 does he say that? 00:04:22.200 --> 00:04:24.840 And then he begins to heal people. 00:04:24.840 --> 00:04:29.440 Because there are times when the Spirit of God has an intent from heaven and he wants 00:04:29.440 --> 00:04:30.480 to do something. 00:04:30.480 --> 00:04:35.360 It's just that we may have to train ourselves to recognize it so that he gets to do exactly 00:04:35.360 --> 00:04:36.520 what heaven wants. 00:04:37.320 --> 00:04:42.120 Part of thy will be done here on earth as it is in heaven is to know when heaven wants 00:04:42.120 --> 00:04:44.560 something. 00:04:44.560 --> 00:04:49.760 And at those opportune moments, things begin to happen like they will never happen any 00:04:49.760 --> 00:04:56.760 other time because it's God's destined, Kairos intent. 00:05:07.520 --> 00:05:14.520 Yeah, so Jesus can turn water into wine whenever he wants to, but he also says, this is not 00:05:14.600 --> 00:05:16.520 my time. 00:05:16.520 --> 00:05:19.440 So it's not that he does not or that he will not. 00:05:19.440 --> 00:05:22.960 In fact, he loves taking care of people's brokenness. 00:05:22.960 --> 00:05:24.360 So he'll do it anyways. 00:05:24.360 --> 00:05:27.680 But there are moments when heaven desires to do something. 00:05:27.680 --> 00:05:32.040 And in those moments, if we as his children know those moments, you'll be surprised at 00:05:32.040 --> 00:05:35.520 the results and the ease of the results. 00:05:36.520 --> 00:05:38.320 That's the difference. 00:05:38.320 --> 00:05:42.160 But God can be appealed to anytime and he'll always oblige because he loves taking care 00:05:42.160 --> 00:05:43.160 of brokenness. 00:05:51.880 --> 00:05:57.320 So this idea of power is basically connected to the Holy Spirit. 00:05:57.320 --> 00:05:59.760 And so that is one of the things we wanted to establish. 00:05:59.760 --> 00:06:06.760 You will see it in Luke 1.35 where it says that the Spirit of God hovered over Mary with 00:06:07.160 --> 00:06:12.960 power and what was conceived in Mary was the Son of the Most High. 00:06:12.960 --> 00:06:15.840 Then you go to Micah 3.8 and you'll see it again. 00:06:15.840 --> 00:06:22.220 Micah 3.8, it talks about the Holy Spirit who is a Spirit of power and a Spirit of justice. 00:06:22.220 --> 00:06:26.880 So in the Old Testament and the New Testament, there's this continuous reference to the presence 00:06:26.880 --> 00:06:31.280 of the Spirit as the presence of the power of God. 00:06:31.280 --> 00:06:32.680 And so it makes it worse. 00:06:32.680 --> 00:06:34.020 It doesn't make it any better. 00:06:34.020 --> 00:06:39.880 If I have the fullness of the Holy Spirit, why doesn't the power always show? 00:06:39.880 --> 00:06:41.240 Because we do have his fullness. 00:06:41.240 --> 00:06:44.240 If you're born again, you have him dwelling in you fully. 00:06:51.240 --> 00:06:54.240 In a sense, Isaiah 61 is the same, right? 00:06:54.240 --> 00:06:56.040 Isaiah 61, 1-5. 00:06:56.200 --> 00:06:58.400 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me. 00:06:58.400 --> 00:07:00.760 It's basically an outworking. 00:07:00.760 --> 00:07:03.360 It's an outworking of the power of the Spirit. 00:07:03.360 --> 00:07:16.360 Outworking of the power of the Spirit in deeds, in proclamation or in words and in action. 00:07:16.360 --> 00:07:18.120 And in action. 00:07:18.120 --> 00:07:20.080 That's what Isaiah 61 is. 00:07:20.080 --> 00:07:24.760 And that's the scroll that Jesus opens. 00:07:24.760 --> 00:07:28.040 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me. 00:07:28.040 --> 00:07:29.580 Anointed is to empower. 00:07:29.580 --> 00:07:32.800 To anoint is to empower. 00:07:32.800 --> 00:07:37.420 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me or empowered me to do what? 00:07:37.420 --> 00:07:41.640 To preach the good news to the poor, to open the eyes of the blind, to set captives free, 00:07:41.640 --> 00:07:43.720 to open prison doors. 00:07:43.720 --> 00:07:46.520 Some of it is proclamation, some of it is action. 00:07:46.520 --> 00:07:52.440 And everything in Isaiah 61, 1-5 that he opens and reads is simply the power of the Holy 00:07:52.480 --> 00:07:55.480 Spirit at work through us. 00:07:55.480 --> 00:08:00.480 Any questions? 00:08:00.480 --> 00:08:05.680 No? 00:08:05.680 --> 00:08:11.280 So there's no absence of power, but there's something that, there's a disconnect between 00:08:11.280 --> 00:08:19.440 the presence of power and the expression of power. 00:08:19.440 --> 00:08:22.720 So what is required for a power surge? 00:08:22.720 --> 00:08:26.240 So let's look at that. 00:08:26.240 --> 00:08:33.600 One bearing witness. 00:08:33.600 --> 00:08:34.600 What are we dealing with now? 00:08:34.600 --> 00:08:41.960 We are saying if we look at these, if we practice these things that God has said, then it is 00:08:41.960 --> 00:08:46.680 almost inevitable that the power will show. 00:08:46.680 --> 00:08:52.280 So the first thing is bearing witness because Acts 1-8 says, look at Acts 1-8 again, it 00:08:52.280 --> 00:08:56.520 says, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you. 00:08:56.520 --> 00:08:58.120 That's only the first part of the verse. 00:08:58.120 --> 00:09:03.520 The second part of the verse is, and you will be witnesses. 00:09:03.520 --> 00:09:09.000 So one of the primary desires of the Holy Spirit for the outworking of his power is 00:09:09.000 --> 00:09:11.920 bearing witness. 00:09:11.920 --> 00:09:18.800 So when a people don't bear witness, yes, he's in you and he'll help you with your 00:09:18.800 --> 00:09:23.600 stuff, but he's not in us just for us. 00:09:23.600 --> 00:09:30.680 He's in us for others and there is no need to express that power because there is no 00:09:30.680 --> 00:09:35.340 witnessing to who Christ is, both in words and in deeds. 00:09:35.340 --> 00:09:42.540 So bearing witness is an essential part of seeing power, which is why in Mark 16 also 00:09:42.540 --> 00:09:47.780 it says, and the disciples went out and God affirmed what they were doing. 00:09:47.780 --> 00:09:49.600 So there was this going out. 00:09:49.600 --> 00:09:52.180 So bearing witness is critical to this. 00:09:52.180 --> 00:09:57.260 Acts 1-8, the second half is basically saying, hey, I will come upon you and I will display 00:09:57.260 --> 00:10:03.300 my power, but my power will be displayed for one sole reason, so that you can bear witness 00:10:03.420 --> 00:10:11.220 to me and for me from Jerusalem to Judea to Samaria and the ends of the earth. 00:10:11.220 --> 00:10:13.580 What does this power look like? 00:10:13.580 --> 00:10:17.180 It's different in different cases because we have an expectation of what this power 00:10:17.180 --> 00:10:20.540 should look like, depending on our background sometimes. 00:10:20.540 --> 00:10:25.340 For charismatics, it might be healing the sick, raising the dead, opening blind eyes, 00:10:25.340 --> 00:10:27.800 making the crippled walk. 00:10:27.800 --> 00:10:33.060 For a non-charismatic, it might be some deep change that is brought by words that convicts 00:10:33.140 --> 00:10:35.220 the heart and changes the person. 00:10:35.220 --> 00:10:39.980 I was listening to a guy who now, this is just on the side, I was listening to a guy 00:10:39.980 --> 00:10:46.980 who now is the head of, or one of the main guys at Y-Van, and he was a hippie, he was 00:10:47.220 --> 00:10:52.980 into drugs, he was going to jail, and then someone comes and witnesses to him. 00:10:52.980 --> 00:10:57.300 And over a period of three days, he decides that he will give his life to the Lord. 00:10:57.300 --> 00:10:58.620 His name is Mark something. 00:10:58.620 --> 00:11:00.520 He decides he'll give his life to the Lord. 00:11:00.600 --> 00:11:03.240 So he comes up to this guy and says, I'm willing to give my life to the Lord. 00:11:03.240 --> 00:11:07.960 And the guy says, nope, I'm not interested in leading you in a salvation prayer. 00:11:07.960 --> 00:11:11.920 And he says to him, you're living with your girlfriend right now. 00:11:11.920 --> 00:11:18.920 You are totally into playing in this rock band and you love your rock guitar. 00:11:19.080 --> 00:11:26.080 And you have intentions of finishing medical, med school, because there's nothing else that 00:11:26.160 --> 00:11:28.760 obsesses you more than becoming a doctor. 00:11:28.760 --> 00:11:33.800 And he says, when you're ready to lay these three things down, come and we'll pray. 00:11:33.800 --> 00:11:37.200 The guy said it took him three and a half or four hours to wrestle through this. 00:11:37.200 --> 00:11:40.440 I'm not saying this applies to all of us, I'm just saying wrestle through this. 00:11:40.440 --> 00:11:47.120 And when he was testifying, he said this, I did not get saved, I got converted. 00:11:47.120 --> 00:11:51.160 There was a conversion, there was a deep change where he laid down everything for the sake 00:11:51.160 --> 00:11:53.520 of Christ. 00:11:53.520 --> 00:11:57.600 Sometimes the power of the Holy Spirit is in deep conversion. 00:11:57.640 --> 00:12:00.440 Sometimes it's in emotions being healed. 00:12:00.440 --> 00:12:05.600 Sometimes it is in strongholds that have remained for years being changed. 00:12:05.600 --> 00:12:09.960 Sometimes it is intimacy with the Father that blows your mind away that how can someone 00:12:09.960 --> 00:12:12.800 be in love with God like this? 00:12:12.800 --> 00:12:17.600 So we need to change perhaps our expectations of what power looks like. 00:12:17.600 --> 00:12:21.420 Because when we are talking about witnessing to the ends of the earth, we are looking at 00:12:21.420 --> 00:12:25.080 power looking like what Jane needs today. 00:12:25.080 --> 00:12:30.560 Power looking like what power looking like what I need today. 00:12:30.560 --> 00:12:36.000 Power looking like what James, and I don't know which James needs today. 00:12:36.000 --> 00:12:38.440 That's what it looks like. 00:12:38.440 --> 00:12:42.400 Because the Spirit's intent is, can I take care of that? 00:12:42.400 --> 00:12:49.360 So expectation of what power looks like to change. 00:12:49.360 --> 00:12:53.800 And so the first one is bearing witness. 00:12:53.800 --> 00:12:58.400 The power of the Spirit is the work of witness bearing, is for the work of witness bearing. 00:12:58.400 --> 00:13:10.820 The power of the Spirit is for the work of witness bearing. 00:13:10.820 --> 00:13:19.740 So in Isaiah 46, Isaiah 49 verse 6, God says to Israel, hey Israel, you will be my witnesses. 00:13:19.740 --> 00:13:22.120 I will send you to the ends of the earth. 00:13:22.120 --> 00:13:24.740 You will let them know who I am and Israel failed. 00:13:24.740 --> 00:13:29.780 And so the same commission that was given to Israel is now the same commission that 00:13:29.780 --> 00:13:34.940 the risen Christ gives to his apostles when he says to them, you will be my witnesses. 00:13:34.940 --> 00:13:41.620 And the anointing that comes upon them or the empowering of the Holy Spirit is so that 00:13:41.620 --> 00:13:53.780 they can carry, so that they can carry God's salvation to the ends of the earth. 00:13:53.780 --> 00:13:59.740 And if this is not part of my life, then Jacob should not, despite the amount of prayer he 00:13:59.940 --> 00:14:05.300 May pray despite having prophetic words, despite desiring deeply what he wants, Jacob should 00:14:05.300 --> 00:14:12.020 not expect the power of the Spirit to flow freely and regularly if bearing witness is 00:14:12.020 --> 00:14:15.620 not part of the equation of my life or the equation of the church. 00:14:15.620 --> 00:14:18.740 I may say that it's really not. 00:14:18.740 --> 00:14:25.740 It is there, but it's really not. 00:14:25.740 --> 00:14:32.740 Salvation, by the way, is rescue. 00:14:32.740 --> 00:14:36.420 We've done this before. 00:14:36.420 --> 00:14:53.420 Rescue from sin, the penalty of sin, death, danger, sickness, false doctrine, Satan, and 00:14:54.420 --> 00:15:00.540 hell, which is a penalty of sin. 00:15:00.540 --> 00:15:09.540 All that is salvation. 00:15:09.540 --> 00:15:12.000 All that is salvation. 00:15:12.000 --> 00:15:15.900 It's not some little package where it's going to heaven is not salvation. 00:15:15.900 --> 00:15:17.420 All that is salvation. 00:15:17.420 --> 00:15:18.760 That's what he gets striped for. 00:15:18.760 --> 00:15:19.960 That's what he gets nailed for. 00:15:19.960 --> 00:15:21.580 That's what he gets bruised for. 00:15:21.740 --> 00:15:26.740 Isaiah 53 gives you the full package of what salvation looks like. 00:15:26.740 --> 00:15:31.740 So the first one is bearing witness. 00:15:31.740 --> 00:15:38.620 Second one is no confidence in the flesh. 00:15:38.620 --> 00:15:41.300 No confidence in the flesh. 00:15:41.300 --> 00:15:48.300 If I want to see the power of the Spirit of God at work, then I need to absolutely demolish 00:15:52.140 --> 00:15:59.140 the confidence I have in my flesh or the confidence we have in what we are gifted at, gifted 00:16:00.460 --> 00:16:07.460 by the Spirit at, talented at, talented from God at, accomplished by the power of the Spirit. 00:16:10.460 --> 00:16:14.860 And yet, every day, one has to look at that as trash. 00:16:14.860 --> 00:16:21.100 We're not looking at what the Spirit of God has done as trash, but we're looking at wearing 00:16:21.100 --> 00:16:27.860 that as a mark of some kind of superiority or some kind of accomplishment as trash. 00:16:27.860 --> 00:16:34.860 Because the power of the Spirit of God is so powerfully expressed when a person is nothing. 00:16:36.940 --> 00:16:41.500 When a person is nothing. 00:16:41.500 --> 00:16:45.580 And the nothingness is a condition of the heart, eh? 00:16:45.580 --> 00:16:51.700 Because very often, one can be pious and proud, or one can be pious and absolutely 00:16:51.700 --> 00:16:52.380 simple. 00:16:52.380 --> 00:16:55.500 It's a condition of the heart. 00:16:55.500 --> 00:16:56.660 But no confidence in the flesh. 00:16:56.660 --> 00:17:01.700 This is why Paul says in 1 Corinthians 2, verse 3 and 4, that I came to you, and look 00:17:01.700 --> 00:17:03.380 at the words he's using. 00:17:03.380 --> 00:17:04.380 I came to you. 00:17:04.380 --> 00:17:08.420 This is the same Paul who writes later to Timothy and says, the Spirit of God is the 00:17:08.420 --> 00:17:10.780 Spirit of love, power, and a sound mind. 00:17:10.780 --> 00:17:12.940 And yet in 1 Corinthians 2, here's what he's saying. 00:17:13.020 --> 00:17:18.380 I came to you in fear, in trembling. 00:17:18.380 --> 00:17:19.820 And there's one more thing he says. 00:17:19.820 --> 00:17:21.500 Fear is something in trembling. 00:17:21.500 --> 00:17:22.420 I came to you in this. 00:17:22.420 --> 00:17:27.260 The same guy who later tells Timothy, don't be this, is coming to Corinth with this, and 00:17:27.260 --> 00:17:33.140 then he says, but in coming to you like this, I was able to demonstrate to you the power 00:17:33.140 --> 00:17:37.780 of the Spirit so that your trust may be in nothing else but the Spirit. 00:17:37.780 --> 00:17:44.780 The power of the Spirit is demonstrated when you and I have no confidence in our flesh. 00:17:44.780 --> 00:17:48.820 John 6, 63, the flesh profits nothing. 00:17:48.820 --> 00:17:53.580 The Spirit gives life. 00:17:53.580 --> 00:17:58.380 My speech and my message were not implausible words of wisdom, but in the demonstration 00:17:58.380 --> 00:18:00.180 of the Spirit and of power. 00:18:00.180 --> 00:18:04.100 And I was with you in weakness, in fear, in trembling. 00:18:04.100 --> 00:18:06.300 Look at 1 Thessalonians 1, 5. 00:18:06.300 --> 00:18:11.500 1 Thessalonians 1, 5. 00:18:11.500 --> 00:18:13.300 1 Thessalonians 1, 5. 00:18:13.300 --> 00:18:19.780 It says there, our gospel came to you not merely in the form of words, but in mighty 00:18:19.780 --> 00:18:24.020 power infused with the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. 00:18:24.020 --> 00:18:25.540 What happens when that happens? 00:18:25.540 --> 00:18:29.580 The next verse says, you became imitators of us. 00:18:29.580 --> 00:18:31.180 You became imitators of us. 00:18:32.060 --> 00:18:38.180 That when you begin to operate not in the confidence of your flesh, but in the, even 00:18:38.180 --> 00:18:48.940 the words that you speak, when they get infused with the Spirit, it changes people. 00:18:48.940 --> 00:18:57.180 Which is why fine skilled, refined preaching will get you applause and will be a self help 00:18:57.180 --> 00:19:03.300 method, but it doesn't do anything deeper. 00:19:03.300 --> 00:19:09.780 And so have no confidence in the flesh, which means your inadequacy has to become some kind 00:19:09.780 --> 00:19:12.920 of a badge you wear. 00:19:12.920 --> 00:19:16.820 Inadequacy doesn't mean lack of preparation. 00:19:16.820 --> 00:19:21.380 Inadequacy means preparing and going in there with great fear and trembling, knowing that 00:19:21.380 --> 00:19:24.980 you can't hold a candle to most of the others who've gone before you. 00:19:25.780 --> 00:19:33.020 And that you're going to sound really unsophisticated, messy, clumsy, and won't have the right words 00:19:33.020 --> 00:19:37.020 and you won't get a single hallelujah. 00:19:37.020 --> 00:19:41.860 And having come to the conclusion that that is where things are at, you let the Spirit 00:19:41.860 --> 00:19:44.300 of God tent on you. 00:19:44.300 --> 00:19:48.780 And as it begins to tent on you, because you are so weak and infirm, the only thing that 00:19:48.780 --> 00:19:54.900 flows through you is the Spirit of God. 00:19:55.820 --> 00:19:59.460 And that's one of the hardest things for us humans to do, is not to pretend or not to 00:19:59.460 --> 00:20:02.900 disguise, not to costume who we really are. 00:20:02.900 --> 00:20:04.580 We're constantly costuming. 00:20:04.580 --> 00:20:12.580 We're even costuming the cross so that it is more attractive to people that seek. 00:20:12.580 --> 00:20:15.660 Not to costume it at all. 00:20:15.660 --> 00:20:17.420 Which doesn't mean that we stay there. 00:20:17.420 --> 00:20:18.420 We keep improving. 00:20:18.420 --> 00:20:19.420 Improving how? Why have you now slipped into the law? 00:40:08.100 --> 00:40:12.100 Did the works of the Holy Spirit and the miracles of the Holy Spirit that he's done in the midst of you, 00:40:12.100 --> 00:40:17.100 did they happen through the hearing of faith or through works? 00:40:17.100 --> 00:40:26.100 And so the things of the Spirit of God are stepped into and expressed by the exertion of faith. 00:40:27.100 --> 00:40:29.100 The hearing of faith is the act. 00:40:29.100 --> 00:40:33.100 So when we talk about the hearing of faith, we're talking about three things that happen simultaneously. 00:40:33.100 --> 00:40:40.100 Hearing, believing, being empowered. 00:40:40.100 --> 00:40:43.100 All three happen at once. 00:40:45.100 --> 00:40:51.100 So Peter is at, in Acts chapter 8 or 9, it's Paul. 00:40:51.100 --> 00:40:54.100 I think it's Paul. It means God will see it. 00:41:45.100 --> 00:41:48.100 It's not we are the ones who change it into God will provide. 00:41:48.100 --> 00:41:50.100 The actual sense of it is God will see it. 00:41:50.100 --> 00:41:53.100 And because he sees it and he's a father, what will he do? 00:41:53.100 --> 00:41:55.100 He will provide. 00:41:55.100 --> 00:41:59.100 God sees it. God sees it. 00:41:59.100 --> 00:42:07.100 Sometimes hearing or singing with faith can open a huge door for you that was otherwise closed. 00:42:09.100 --> 00:42:13.100 One of the habits I had was when someone was teaching, I'd open the Bible and when they would show a scripture, 00:42:13.100 --> 00:42:17.100 and I'd begin to read and then I would keep reading, not listening to the scripture. 00:42:17.100 --> 00:42:22.100 Then I remember one guy saying, hey, when the author is here, why are you still stuck in the book? 00:42:22.100 --> 00:42:27.100 We do that, eh? When the author is here, not the person who's preaching. 00:42:27.100 --> 00:42:30.100 When Christ is here, because Christ is in the midst of us. 00:42:30.100 --> 00:42:33.100 When the author is here, why are you stuck in the book? 00:42:36.100 --> 00:42:41.100 I remember I'd go to Richmond Pentecostal and they'd be teaching and it would be good teaching and I'd get stuck with the verse. 00:42:41.100 --> 00:42:47.100 And then just reading, going off on tandems. 00:42:47.100 --> 00:42:50.100 But guess what? Yes. 00:44:03.100 --> 00:44:08.100 Because it was exactly the path that most people would take if they wanted to go. 00:44:08.100 --> 00:44:16.100 When the Spirit of God sent a vision in which it says, go to Macedonia, did it require faith? 00:44:16.100 --> 00:44:20.100 Absolutely. You're following a blooming dream. 00:44:20.100 --> 00:44:29.100 To see the power of the Spirit released, it is impossible to do it without active faith. 00:44:29.100 --> 00:44:36.100 And that's why Paul says, hey, if you started with faith, why are you now going into works? 00:44:36.100 --> 00:44:40.100 Stick with faith. Increase in it. It's faith to faith, not faith to works. 00:44:40.100 --> 00:44:45.100 Increase in it. This was in Indonesia. 00:47:22.100 --> 00:47:27.100 And he comes up and he asks for prayer for his corn business. 00:47:27.100 --> 00:47:33.100 So I'm going to pray for his corn business and instead I hear God saying, 00:47:33.100 --> 00:47:40.100 tell him that he's always been looking for a Father and that I am the Father he's looking for. 00:47:40.100 --> 00:47:46.100 Tell him. And so I begin to tell him that you've always desired a Father. 00:47:46.100 --> 00:47:50.100 You serve a God but you don't know him as Father. 00:47:50.100 --> 00:47:56.100 Let me tell you about Jesus Christ the Son and the Father that he came to present. 00:47:56.100 --> 00:48:04.100 And I tell him, and this man, we're in a pretty upmarket hotel in Jakarta and there are people around me, 00:48:04.100 --> 00:48:10.100 and he gets up and he must be just a little younger than my dad, and he gets up and he comes over to my side 00:48:10.100 --> 00:48:13.100 and then he puts his head on my chest and he starts weeping. 00:48:13.100 --> 00:48:19.100 And he's weeping saying, you don't know who I am. You don't know who I am. You don't know what's happening inside me. 00:48:19.100 --> 00:48:24.100 And I find out later that he was, his actual name was Hassanuddin, 00:48:24.100 --> 00:48:35.100 and he was someone who had constructed some mosques and was one of the guys who takes care of criminals 00:48:35.100 --> 00:48:38.100 when you don't have to take them to the legal system. 00:48:38.100 --> 00:48:41.100 And so that's why he kept saying, you don't know who I am. You don't know who I am. 00:48:41.100 --> 00:48:49.100 And this guy came for his corn business, but despite the fact that he was deep in another religion, 00:48:49.100 --> 00:48:54.100 despite the fact that he was cruel, despite the fact that he was very highly placed, 00:48:54.100 --> 00:48:59.100 the one thing that he wanted was a God that was a Father. 00:48:59.100 --> 00:49:05.100 Later on, his daughters, he sent his daughters to another meeting where he said, 00:49:05.100 --> 00:49:09.100 you should go listen to this Christ that they talk about. 00:49:10.100 --> 00:49:16.100 And so there's not a human being on earth because the earth is an orphanage that does not want a Father. 00:49:16.100 --> 00:49:20.100 And if we don't know him as Father, how can we present him? 00:49:21.100 --> 00:49:29.100 And so the greater we get to know him as Father, the greater becomes your privilege in life to reveal the Father, 00:49:29.100 --> 00:49:32.100 but you can't do it without the fullness and the power of the Spirit. 00:49:32.100 --> 00:49:34.100 Can't do it without the fullness of the Spirit, 00:49:34.100 --> 00:49:39.100 because the fullness of the Spirit will give you an idea of what Karen needs in terms of a Father, 00:49:39.100 --> 00:49:41.100 not what you want to experience as a Father. 00:49:43.100 --> 00:49:45.100 How do we ask for the fullness of the Spirit? 00:49:45.100 --> 00:49:48.100 One, remember the promise. What is the promise he has given you? 00:49:49.100 --> 00:49:51.100 If there is a promise that has been given to you, 00:49:51.100 --> 00:49:55.100 know that the fullness of the Spirit will move in to bring that promise to pass, 00:49:55.100 --> 00:49:58.100 because he is more invested in that promise than you are. 00:49:58.100 --> 00:50:00.100 It is his words. 00:50:01.100 --> 00:50:05.100 Both in terms of the logos where he's already said it, the written word, 00:50:05.100 --> 00:50:12.100 and words that have been spoken to each of us at different times, sometimes directly, sometimes indirectly through people. 00:50:12.100 --> 00:50:13.100 What is the promise? 00:50:13.100 --> 00:50:16.100 Whenever you want the fullness of the Spirit, go to the promise. 00:50:16.100 --> 00:50:22.100 You said, oh God, not in a challenging court fashion where you're a lawyer, but you said, oh God, 00:50:22.100 --> 00:50:28.100 it comes from a place of I know you said this and I know you want to bring this to pass, the promise. 00:50:28.100 --> 00:50:32.100 Second, ask for it. Ask for the fullness. Ask for the fullness. 00:50:32.100 --> 00:50:37.100 Throughout the Bible, in the book of Acts, and before, during the Gospel, Jesus would say, 00:50:37.100 --> 00:50:40.100 ask for the Holy Spirit. My Father loves to give the Holy Spirit. 00:50:40.100 --> 00:50:46.100 It's his pleasure, little flock, to give you the kingdom. Ask for it. 00:50:48.100 --> 00:50:53.100 Third, there are times when the Holy Spirit will descend without you even doing anything. 00:50:53.100 --> 00:50:55.100 Look out for those times. 00:50:56.100 --> 00:50:58.100 Acts chapter 10, verse 44 to 46. 00:50:58.100 --> 00:51:04.100 And while Paul was still preaching, the Holy Spirit fell upon those in Cornelius' house. 00:51:04.100 --> 00:51:13.100 And the six Jewish men who had gone with Paul from Joppa to Caesarea 00:51:13.100 --> 00:51:18.100 suddenly saw the Gentiles speaking in languages that they'd never heard before. 00:51:18.100 --> 00:51:22.100 They saw and heard the Holy Spirit upon people. 00:51:22.100 --> 00:51:28.100 Sometimes he descends. Sometimes he descends on an entire church. 00:51:28.100 --> 00:51:32.100 Other times he descends in pockets. Why pockets? 00:51:32.100 --> 00:51:38.100 Because sometimes there's a greater yieldedness in perhaps T.W.U. than in Vancouver. 00:51:38.100 --> 00:51:42.100 Sometimes he just responds to yieldedness. 00:51:44.100 --> 00:51:51.100 Every time of worship, corporate worship, is a time that you can look for the descent of the Holy Spirit. 00:51:51.100 --> 00:51:58.100 Every time. And the descent of the Holy Spirit is not so that we shake a little and fall over. 00:51:58.100 --> 00:52:03.100 The descent of the Holy Spirit is so that something concrete can be formed in your heart. 00:52:03.100 --> 00:52:07.100 What's the point of falling over when you get up and nothing's changed? 00:52:07.100 --> 00:52:11.100 I had one lady try to push me and I decided, no, I won't fall. 00:52:11.100 --> 00:52:14.100 And so she's pushing me and I'm not falling. She's pushing me and saying, I won't let go. 00:52:14.100 --> 00:52:18.100 And I'm saying, I won't fall. So then I decided to look for the closest way to fall. 00:52:18.100 --> 00:52:22.100 And so I went and sat on the chair and she was happy and I was happy. 00:52:22.100 --> 00:52:28.100 But falling doesn't do nothing if change doesn't happen. 00:52:28.100 --> 00:52:35.100 There must be a concrete change. And that happens with the descent of the Spirit. 00:52:35.100 --> 00:52:38.100 And look for it in corporate gatherings. 00:52:38.100 --> 00:52:40.100 Because the Spirit of God, remember one thing, guys. 00:52:40.100 --> 00:52:45.100 Christ reveals himself completely on the Holy Spirit. 00:52:45.100 --> 00:52:50.100 Christ reveals himself completely only to the bride. 00:52:50.100 --> 00:52:55.100 Christ will never reveal himself completely to individuals. 00:52:55.100 --> 00:53:03.100 He's the bridegroom of the bride. He reveals himself completely to the bride. 00:53:03.100 --> 00:53:12.100 And so corporate gatherings are a place where he begins to show things about himself that are special. 00:53:13.100 --> 00:53:17.100 You look at Acts chapter 2, it is a corporate gathering. 00:53:17.100 --> 00:53:22.100 You look at Cornelius' house, it is a corporate gathering. 00:53:22.100 --> 00:53:26.100 You look at Samaria, corporate gathering. 00:53:26.100 --> 00:53:30.100 You'll get Acts chapter 4 when the disciples came back and said, 00:53:30.100 --> 00:53:35.100 we are scared, we need boldness, corporate gathering. 00:53:35.100 --> 00:53:40.100 There is something to it. It's not that individual experiences are not intense and amazing, 00:53:40.100 --> 00:53:43.100 but he reveals himself to the bride. 00:53:50.100 --> 00:53:57.100 Here's another one. How interested are you in... 00:54:02.100 --> 00:54:05.100 That's not the way to phrase it. 00:54:10.100 --> 00:54:17.100 How are you, Kingdom, obsessed? 00:54:19.100 --> 00:54:22.100 Are you Kingdom obsessed? 00:54:24.100 --> 00:54:28.100 He was. He was. 00:54:28.100 --> 00:54:31.100 What did he preach for 40 days after he rose again? 00:54:31.100 --> 00:54:35.100 Kingdom of God. What were all his parables about? 00:54:35.100 --> 00:54:41.100 The Kingdom. It has been from everlasting, will be in the end. 00:54:41.100 --> 00:54:45.100 Are you Kingdom obsessed? Because one of the things Jesus said in Matthew 12, 28, 00:54:45.100 --> 00:54:47.100 when he was talking about the Spirit, was he said, 00:54:47.100 --> 00:54:53.100 hey, if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, know that the Kingdom has come. 00:54:53.100 --> 00:54:57.100 At the end of the day, everything in the Kingdom happens through the work of the Spirit. 00:54:57.100 --> 00:55:00.100 The power of the Spirit is the power of the Kingdom. 00:55:00.100 --> 00:55:04.100 This is why he says the Kingdom of God is not about eating and drinking. 00:55:04.100 --> 00:55:11.100 But it is about righteousness, peace and joy and one more, power. 00:55:11.100 --> 00:55:14.100 Righteousness, peace and joy in one scripture, 00:55:14.100 --> 00:55:18.100 then he talks about the Kingdom of God as not a matter of talking and eating, but of power. 00:55:18.100 --> 00:55:21.100 If you combine it, then here's what the Kingdom of God is about. 00:55:21.100 --> 00:55:25.100 It is about righteousness, peace, joy and power. 00:55:25.100 --> 00:55:29.100 And who brings it all? 00:55:29.100 --> 00:55:33.100 He's obsessed with it because Christ was obsessed with it. 00:55:33.100 --> 00:55:38.100 Is it your obsession? 00:55:38.100 --> 00:55:41.100 When, what's his name? What's your name? 00:55:41.100 --> 00:55:49.100 Sheldon. When Sheldon is doing his music, when Jane is doing her counseling, 00:55:49.100 --> 00:55:57.100 when Marcus is working at the warehouse, when Prashant is working at Langara, 00:55:57.100 --> 00:56:02.100 when Aaron is working at his huge accounting firm where he counts millions of dollars, 00:56:02.100 --> 00:56:12.100 during all this time, during all this time, is it possible for us to center the Kingdom? 00:56:12.100 --> 00:56:16.100 And it would require that we read a little, understand a little, 00:56:16.100 --> 00:56:19.100 go back and visit some of the things we talked about. 00:56:19.100 --> 00:56:23.100 Because the Spirit of God loves Kingdom activity. 00:56:23.100 --> 00:56:26.100 That's what he's here for. 00:56:26.100 --> 00:56:29.100 Because the day will come in Revelation 13 where it will say, 00:56:29.100 --> 00:56:33.100 the kingdoms of the earth have become the kingdoms of God and King. 00:56:33.100 --> 00:56:38.100 Till then, he's continuously working to do what? To make things new. 00:56:38.100 --> 00:56:41.100 Because that kingdom is new, man. Everything there is old. 00:56:41.100 --> 00:56:46.100 These miserable, decaying Middle Earth kingdoms, like it says in the Lord of the Rings, 00:56:46.100 --> 00:56:49.100 is so broken and he's continuously making things new. 00:56:49.100 --> 00:56:53.100 It's part of his activity. 00:56:53.100 --> 00:56:56.100 We can't take all this and go work on this this week. 00:56:56.100 --> 00:56:59.100 Pick one. Pick one. 00:57:07.100 --> 00:57:13.100 See, there is another power called, if you go to Acts 26, 18. 00:57:13.100 --> 00:57:17.100 In Acts 26, 18, Jesus says to Paul, 00:57:17.100 --> 00:57:24.100 I am sending you to bring people out of the power of Satan 00:57:24.100 --> 00:57:28.100 into the Kingdom of God by the power of the Holy Spirit. 00:57:28.100 --> 00:57:33.100 So in Acts 26, 18, we see that there is something active called the power of Satan. 00:57:33.100 --> 00:57:36.100 And then in Acts 10, 38, such a beautiful verse. 00:57:36.100 --> 00:57:42.100 So Acts 26, 18 says there is a power of darkness called the power, 00:57:42.100 --> 00:57:44.100 and that it's a satanic power. 00:57:44.100 --> 00:57:50.100 In Acts 10, 38 it says, and God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit 00:57:50.100 --> 00:57:53.100 and with power to do what? 00:57:53.100 --> 00:57:58.100 To set those that were harassed by Satan free. 00:57:58.100 --> 00:58:02.100 It's a counter-kingdom, man. 00:58:02.100 --> 00:58:06.100 Last two. 00:58:06.100 --> 00:58:11.100 Intentional prayer. Intentional prayer. Intentional prayer. 00:58:14.100 --> 00:58:18.100 Guys, thank God this is not true now, though it should be. 00:58:18.100 --> 00:58:23.100 But in Jesus' times, if you said you were someone's disciple, 00:58:23.100 --> 00:58:29.100 what it meant was that you actually represented your master, 00:58:29.100 --> 00:58:37.100 and the messenger of a man, the messenger of a man, 00:58:37.100 --> 00:58:47.100 or the disciple of a man, was the man himself. 00:58:47.100 --> 00:58:54.100 As in, if you were May's disciple, then when you went and spoke, 00:58:54.100 --> 00:59:00.100 it would be as if you were speaking as May. 00:59:00.100 --> 00:59:02.100 Thank God we don't have those standards. 00:59:02.100 --> 00:59:04.100 Rabbis wouldn't take on people, man, 00:59:04.100 --> 00:59:11.100 they absolutely subscribed to your doctrine and your way of living. 00:59:11.100 --> 00:59:18.100 And so, in the good old days, and it should be the same now too, but it isn't, 00:59:18.100 --> 00:59:23.100 the message of a man was the man himself, or the disciple of a man was the man himself. 00:59:23.100 --> 00:59:26.100 Now you can see, based on that premise, 00:59:26.100 --> 00:59:31.100 what the guy who brought his son to be healed by Jesus' disciples taught. 00:59:31.100 --> 00:59:34.100 In Luke 9, he brings his son. 00:59:34.100 --> 00:59:37.100 His son's falling into the fire, his son's almost trying to kill himself, 00:59:37.100 --> 00:59:41.100 and he brings him to Jesus. Jesus has gone up the Mount of Transfiguration. 00:59:41.100 --> 00:59:44.100 He brings him to his disciples, and the disciples try casting him out. 00:59:44.100 --> 00:59:48.100 Nothing works. And he's beginning to wonder whether this man is real. 00:59:48.100 --> 00:59:53.100 So he says to Jesus, Jesus, I brought them to your disciples, and they couldn't do anything. 00:59:53.100 --> 00:59:55.100 Can you do something? Is it even possible? 00:59:55.100 --> 01:00:00.100 He begins to doubt Jesus based on what the disciples couldn't do. 01:00:00.100 --> 01:00:05.100 Thank God people don't think like that nowadays. 01:00:05.100 --> 01:00:13.100 When they bring people to us and nothing happens, they go away thinking, it's normal. 01:00:13.100 --> 01:00:17.100 Actually, people don't bring anyone to us. 01:00:17.100 --> 01:00:21.100 The church is not the first place that people come to for healing and deliverance. 01:00:21.100 --> 01:00:29.100 We don't have that reputation. Maybe in Reading they do, not here. 01:00:29.100 --> 01:00:35.100 And so, one of the things that we need to understand is that Jesus turns to his disciples 01:00:35.100 --> 01:00:39.100 after they failed at showing the power of the Holy Spirit. 01:00:39.100 --> 01:00:42.100 He pulls them aside, and they ask him, why didn't this go? 01:07:07.100 --> 01:07:12.100 Nations change in a matter of days. 01:07:12.100 --> 01:07:19.100 Rulers are removed. 01:07:19.100 --> 01:07:27.100 Events, upturn, culture. 01:07:27.100 --> 01:07:29.100 It just happens and God makes it happen. 01:07:29.100 --> 01:07:32.100 This is why the Holy Spirit keeps saying in the book of Revelation, 01:07:32.100 --> 01:07:38.100 let him who has ears hear. 01:07:38.100 --> 01:07:39.100 Why? 01:07:39.100 --> 01:07:42.100 Because if you hear and don't despise, 01:07:42.100 --> 01:07:51.100 if you hear and don't despise, you can prosper and participate. 01:07:51.100 --> 01:07:57.100 But if you despise, then if you scorn it, it's at your own peril, 01:07:57.100 --> 01:08:03.100 especially when there's words that have been given to you or given to the church. 01:08:03.100 --> 01:08:07.100 Don't despise them even if they're taking long to happen, don't despise them. 01:08:07.100 --> 01:08:10.100 Because if you don't despise it, you will prosper, you will participate. 01:08:10.100 --> 01:08:16.100 In the Second Chronicles, 2020, it says, 01:08:16.100 --> 01:08:18.100 believe in the Lord and you will be established, 01:08:18.100 --> 01:08:21.100 believe in his prophets and you will succeed. 01:08:21.100 --> 01:08:23.100 Second Chronicles, 2020. 01:08:23.100 --> 01:08:27.100 And so if there have been words given to you personally that you know is God, 01:08:27.100 --> 01:08:33.100 it isn't someone's dream one night, suddenly the next morning, it's you know it. 01:08:33.100 --> 01:08:40.100 Or if something has been released to a church or to a nation, don't despise it. 01:08:40.100 --> 01:08:42.100 Because you despise it at your own peril, 01:08:42.100 --> 01:08:47.100 but if you believe it, you begin to prosper in it, you begin to succeed. 01:08:47.100 --> 01:08:49.100 So just be aware of that. 01:08:49.100 --> 01:08:52.100 Any questions? Why? 01:10:17.100 --> 01:10:19.100 Because it despised prophets. 01:10:19.100 --> 01:10:22.100 Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jesus. 01:10:22.100 --> 01:10:28.100 Sometimes a package something comes in will sometimes be deliberately unattractive. 01:10:28.100 --> 01:10:31.100 It's like God is saying, let me humble you. 01:10:31.100 --> 01:10:32.100 You want to receive this word? 01:10:32.100 --> 01:10:40.100 Receive it from someone who is not your cup of tea. 01:10:40.100 --> 01:10:45.100 Sometimes we despise the word because the package that it comes in is defective. 01:10:45.100 --> 01:10:50.100 Or sometimes it's not even defective. It's not your cup of tea. 01:10:50.100 --> 01:10:55.100 Third way you despise it is to just say, no, no, no, this is not true. 01:10:55.100 --> 01:11:01.100 It's good that you told me this, but there are other ways God is going to do it. 01:11:01.100 --> 01:11:06.100 Sometimes you despise it because your heart is resentful and bitter. 01:11:06.100 --> 01:11:08.100 And God will forgive, eh? 01:11:08.100 --> 01:11:20.100 But when I keep going down this road, at some point he'll say, okay, to your own peril. 01:11:20.100 --> 01:11:24.100 So don't despise it. It's very easy not to despise it. 01:11:24.100 --> 01:11:27.100 All you have to do is be neutral. 01:11:27.100 --> 01:11:29.100 If you believe it, you begin to prosper and succeed. 01:11:29.100 --> 01:11:32.100 But at least you don't go into peril for despising it. 01:11:32.100 --> 01:11:39.100 This is why it says in 1 Thessalonians 5, do not despise the prophetic word. 01:11:39.100 --> 01:11:43.100 Weigh it. Absolutely. Weighing it is not despising it, eh? 01:11:43.100 --> 01:11:47.100 Weighing it is what the Barians do. Weigh it. 01:11:54.100 --> 01:12:01.100 Occasionally, the Holy Spirit's power works through you through impartation. 01:12:02.100 --> 01:12:06.100 I wanted to leave this at the end because on one hand it is true, 01:12:06.100 --> 01:12:12.100 on the other hand it's so sometimes controversial that I didn't want it to be one of the main points, but it is true. 01:12:12.100 --> 01:12:21.100 If you could look at Numbers 11, Numbers 11, verse 17 and 25, Numbers 11, verse 17 and 25, here's what God says. 01:12:21.100 --> 01:12:28.100 God says to Moses, hey Moses, I'm going to take some of the Spirit that is on you, 01:12:28.100 --> 01:12:32.100 and I'm going to take that Spirit and put it on the 70. 01:12:32.100 --> 01:12:45.100 Sometimes God takes what is on you and gives it to somebody else so that they can also participate in what is being expressed to you freely now because you kind of tapped in on it. 01:12:47.100 --> 01:12:56.100 And so why I left it to the end is because it has been abused a lot, but it's only the authentic that is abused. 01:12:58.100 --> 01:13:07.100 The same happens with Timothy. So in 2 Timothy, chapter 1, verse 6 or thereabouts, Paul is saying to Timothy, 01:13:07.100 --> 01:13:13.100 Timothy, I want you to fan into flames the gift of God that was given to you. 01:13:13.100 --> 01:13:19.100 And then he goes on to say what the gift of God is. He says you haven't received the Spirit of timidity, 01:13:19.100 --> 01:13:23.100 but you've received the Spirit of love, power and a sound mind. What was Paul saying? 01:13:23.100 --> 01:13:31.100 Paul was saying, listen, I know that you must access and now you should give rise to what I put on you. 01:13:31.100 --> 01:13:41.100 And so there is this thing called impartation. Just because it's abused doesn't mean that it shouldn't be practiced. 01:13:41.100 --> 01:13:53.100 But don't line up for an impartation. Let ones come to you and say, hey, this is something God has for you. 01:13:53.100 --> 01:13:59.100 What has happened nowadays is people will line up and they'll even pay $20. 01:14:00.100 --> 01:14:10.100 It's hidden in breakfast costs, but you come for breakfast and then after breakfast you line up 01:14:10.100 --> 01:14:14.100 and the person comes and lays hands on all of you and says, I'm imparting what I have to you. 01:14:14.100 --> 01:14:22.100 Impartation is something that must happen through relationship. Paul, Timothy, Elijah, Elisha. 01:14:22.100 --> 01:14:30.100 Some of the words you hear in 2 Kings 2.15 and thereabouts is, now arise and go in the power of Elijah. 01:14:30.100 --> 01:14:36.100 The same Spirit that was upon Elijah now is resting upon Elisha. So this thing is real, guys. 01:14:38.100 --> 01:14:46.100 And when it happens, have the humility to receive it. One, because you're in relationship. 01:14:46.100 --> 01:14:50.100 Two, because you know what is happening. Three, because you want to run in it. 01:14:53.100 --> 01:15:02.100 Hunger for it. And as you hunger for it, a day will come when you have enough of a relationship to ask Elijah, 01:15:02.100 --> 01:15:11.100 saying, could I have a double portion of your Spirit? Other times when you ask for it, you will not get it because your reasons are wrong. 01:15:12.100 --> 01:15:19.100 Where is that story? James and John. Jesus, when you come into your kingdom, can you make sure that I sit on your right and my brother sits on your left? 01:15:21.100 --> 01:15:31.100 That was impartation for all the wrong reasons. But sometimes your relationship can be strong enough to say, I want this, can I have it? 01:15:32.100 --> 01:15:39.100 Other times you don't even need to ask. The person recognizes and the person says, good, here, let me give this to you. 01:15:39.100 --> 01:15:43.100 This is real. Any questions? 01:15:50.100 --> 01:15:57.100 And to have money involved in this is simply divination. Because this is exactly what Barthes did. 01:15:59.100 --> 01:16:05.100 Simon Magus, he goes up to Philip and he says, can I have this power? I'll pay you for it. 01:16:06.100 --> 01:16:13.100 Any kind of money involved in this is wrong. And a lot of it is involved in this. It is time to impart this to him. 01:16:42.100 --> 01:16:53.100 So that's one way it happens. Two, the person goes and asks for it, saying, can I have this thing that you have? Elisha did that with? Elijah. 01:16:54.100 --> 01:17:01.100 He actually went and asked. I don't know if what transpired would transpire the way it did if Elisha hadn't asked. 01:17:01.100 --> 01:17:13.100 And then the third thing is when, as in Timothy, in 1 Timothy 4, 14 it says that the elders gathered around you and prayed for you. 01:17:13.100 --> 01:17:21.100 And then in 2 Timothy 1, 6 it says, remember to fan into flame that which has already been deposited in you. So there it wasn't even one on one. 01:17:21.100 --> 01:17:30.100 It was a group of people asking for something that the Spirit of God had for you that was reserved from when you were born, suddenly being released to you at a certain time. 01:17:31.100 --> 01:17:37.100 None of this is me giving you anything or you giving me anything. This is God having something for you. 01:17:37.100 --> 01:17:46.100 But he almost always uses man to release it to you. And in the process, dependency and humility must be developed. 01:17:48.100 --> 01:17:57.100 That's the catch. Water, grace, anointing always flows downward. 01:18:01.100 --> 01:18:05.100 And therefore one needs to lower oneself. 01:18:12.100 --> 01:18:18.100 That's why there's this bestowing. Why is there a bestowing? Let me mess your hair up a little. Why is there a bestowing? 01:18:20.100 --> 01:18:30.100 There's a bestowing. Someone has to take a lower place and someone has to, man you look different, someone has to bless. 01:18:30.100 --> 01:18:34.100 On that fine note, let us end. He says, do not worry. 01:19:17.100 --> 01:19:24.100 The Spirit of God will bring out the truth that you require at any given time so that you can put it into practice. 01:19:24.100 --> 01:19:34.100 So dear Spirit of God, as you look at all of us, can you pull out that which we need the most or someone else needs the most? 01:19:34.100 --> 01:19:38.100 And could you help us practice it this week?
