00:00:39.320 --> 00:00:46.960 So today we take Philadelphia, Philadelphia and so if you go to Revelation chapter 3 verse 00:00:46.960 --> 00:00:54.120 7 to 13 and remember we are not looking at the passage and going through it and explaining 00:00:54.120 --> 00:01:00.760 the strengths, the weaknesses, the warnings, the consequences and the rewards to each church 00:01:00.760 --> 00:01:06.320 understand because as we talk about open door, we have to realize 00:06:44.620 --> 00:06:49.380 that when God opens a door, when He creates an opportunity, that nobody can shut it. 00:06:49.380 --> 00:06:55.180 No government, no force, no spiritual power, no physical power can shut it. 00:06:55.180 --> 00:06:57.900 It doesn't mean there won't be an attempt to shut it. 00:06:57.900 --> 00:07:01.220 It doesn't mean there won't be opposition, but it cannot be shut. 00:07:02.220 --> 00:07:09.220 Because He has the undisputed authority to exclude or to admit. 00:07:09.220 --> 00:07:15.100 Often, doors that you think are shut are not locked. 00:07:15.100 --> 00:07:17.380 They are just shut as in leaning. 00:07:17.380 --> 00:07:22.820 All you have to do is go push them. have the ability to know the doors that God wants to open in my life. 00:07:34.060 --> 00:07:39.660 And once I begin to get the whiff of it, I must begin to move towards it. 00:07:39.660 --> 00:07:44.580 The room that you presently are in, if you have finished exploring, you should look towards 00:07:44.580 --> 00:07:48.620 the far end of the room and see if there's a door there in the distance that you need 00:07:48.620 --> 00:07:52.300 to begin to walk towards. 00:07:52.300 --> 00:07:57.540 Because sometimes we can get so used to the space that we presently occupy, and both spiritually 00:07:57.540 --> 00:08:02.300 and physically, because everything starts in the spiritual, we can get so used to it 00:08:02.300 --> 00:08:08.340 that even if I were blindfolded, I could walk without hitting the furniture. 00:08:08.340 --> 00:08:12.300 And that is when I should begin to question whether there is another door that God has 00:08:12.300 --> 00:08:15.300 been trying to open that I'm not stepping through. 00:08:15.300 --> 00:08:16.300 Because of different reasons. 00:08:16.300 --> 00:08:18.300 Some of the reasons may be valid. 00:08:18.300 --> 00:08:20.540 Some of the reasons may be very human. 00:08:20.540 --> 00:08:26.580 But they may still not be what God is hoping you will use as an excuse to stay in that 00:08:26.660 --> 00:08:39.780 room any longer. 00:08:39.780 --> 00:08:45.460 The other thing is, God doesn't necessarily wait for you to taste every dish on the table. 00:08:45.460 --> 00:08:51.660 This is not some buffet where you have to taste the pickle and the salt and the water. 00:08:51.740 --> 00:08:59.980 Once you've done the main dishes, God can say, okay, you've learned enough, let's move on. 00:08:59.980 --> 00:09:06.980 All I'm trying to say is that in our lives, in the life of Jesus, in the book of Acts, 00:09:06.980 --> 00:09:11.460 in fact you can break the book of Acts into five different portions, and each one you 00:09:11.460 --> 00:09:16.420 can see where it ends and where the next phase of God's activity on earth starts. 00:09:16.420 --> 00:09:21.180 You can see the same with Jesus' life. 00:09:21.180 --> 00:09:25.060 You can see him at 12 where a new phase starts. 00:09:25.060 --> 00:09:30.360 You can see him in the synagogue when he opens a scroll and you know another phase is starting. 00:09:30.360 --> 00:09:34.540 You can see him when Peter says, you are the son of the living God, you know that he has 00:09:34.540 --> 00:09:37.580 set his face like flint towards Jerusalem. 00:09:37.580 --> 00:09:43.220 You can see these marked phases in Jesus' life where each one is the entry into another 00:09:43.220 --> 00:09:48.260 space that was appointed to him. 00:09:48.340 --> 00:09:55.820 This enter. 00:10:43.940 --> 00:10:47.020 Sometimes God draws a nation saying, it's your time, come step into the next phase and 00:10:47.020 --> 00:10:48.020 nations stop. 00:10:48.020 --> 00:10:51.300 I and tall, anachites. 00:17:22.600 --> 00:17:26.600 You know about them and have heard it said, who can stand up against the anachites? 00:17:26.600 --> 00:17:30.600 But be assured today that the Lord your God is the one who goes across ahead of you like 00:17:30.600 --> 00:17:32.600 a devouring fire. 00:17:32.600 --> 00:17:36.600 He will destroy them, he will subdue them before you and you will drive them out and 00:17:36.600 --> 00:17:39.600 annihilate them quickly as the Lord has promised. 00:17:41.600 --> 00:17:45.600 We have to do what he tells us to do but there will be a new experience. 00:17:45.600 --> 00:17:49.600 Every open door leads into an unfamiliar experience you haven't had before which makes you 00:17:49.600 --> 00:17:54.600 more reliant and dependent on the strength of God than you've ever depended before. 00:17:54.600 --> 00:17:59.600 And it shows you a side of God you haven't encountered before. 00:18:11.600 --> 00:18:17.600 Isaiah 45 verse 2 is when God promises a man called Cyrus that I'll go before you and 00:18:17.600 --> 00:18:19.600 I'll go with you. 00:18:19.600 --> 00:18:20.600 Leverage it. 00:18:20.600 --> 00:18:25.600 Whenever there's an open door you can really leverage God because it's like, hey I'm with you. 00:18:25.600 --> 00:18:30.600 You can take advantage of it like very few other times. 00:18:33.600 --> 00:18:35.600 Isaiah 45 verse 2. 00:18:38.600 --> 00:18:39.600 Let's read verse 1 and 2. 00:18:39.600 --> 00:18:44.600 This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to Cyrus's right hand I take hold of, to subdue 00:18:44.600 --> 00:18:48.600 nations before him and to strip kings of the armor, to open doors before him so that the gates will 00:18:48.600 --> 00:18:49.600 not be shut. 00:18:49.600 --> 00:18:51.600 Again it's only God who can do that. 00:18:51.600 --> 00:18:54.600 I will go before you and will level the mountains. 00:18:54.600 --> 00:18:56.600 I will break down the gates of bronze. 00:18:56.600 --> 00:18:57.600 I'll cut through the bars of iron. 00:18:57.600 --> 00:18:59.600 I will go before you. 00:18:59.600 --> 00:19:02.600 An open door is a God who goes with you and before you. 00:19:05.600 --> 00:19:10.600 That aside and we won't be talking about what I'm going to say next today. 00:19:10.600 --> 00:19:12.600 We'll talk about it in the future sometime. 00:19:12.600 --> 00:19:19.600 But as I get accustomed to walking through open doors you will end up walking under an open heaven. 00:19:19.600 --> 00:19:24.600 As I get accustomed to walking through open doors where God says, hey here's a new door I want you to walk 00:19:24.600 --> 00:19:26.600 through and you step in through it. 00:19:26.600 --> 00:19:33.600 You will eventually as you get accustomed to walking through open doors and there can be many such doors that 00:19:33.600 --> 00:19:35.600 God opens in a person's life in one year. 00:19:35.600 --> 00:19:40.600 As you get accustomed to walking through open doors you will find yourself walking under an open heaven. 00:19:42.600 --> 00:19:46.600 In a territory, in an area God will say, okay you've done this so well. 00:19:46.600 --> 00:19:53.600 Now I'm going to give you a much wider expanse and I'll disclose to you where the doors are so that you can take 00:19:53.600 --> 00:19:56.600 advantage of them, so that you can administer them on my behalf. 00:19:56.600 --> 00:20:02.600 Where now it is not God saying let me take you to your next phase, let me take you to your next phase. 00:20:02.600 --> 00:20:08.600 You've done it so well that God is saying hey you've reached a place where listen, there, which door do you want to try? 00:20:08.600 --> 00:20:13.600 And then you say that one father and God says alright can you administer it on my behalf? 00:20:13.600 --> 00:20:17.600 Can you make sure that you become the one who opens and shuts it? 00:20:17.600 --> 00:20:21.600 It goes back to what, what's her name? 00:20:21.600 --> 00:20:27.600 Jane. It goes back to what Jane was saying, Zechariah 3. 00:20:27.600 --> 00:20:33.600 If you do well, if you walk a certain way, listen I'll put you in charge of my codes. 00:20:33.600 --> 00:20:36.600 Isaiah 22, verse 22 about Eliakim. 00:20:36.600 --> 00:20:42.600 God says to Eliakim, I'm putting the keys of the house of David on your shoulders. 00:20:42.600 --> 00:20:46.600 What you open will remain open, what you shut will remain shut. 00:20:46.600 --> 00:20:51.600 What is God doing? He's saying listen this is what I normally do but here's what I'm going to do for you. 00:20:51.600 --> 00:20:55.600 Since you've gotten accustomed to walking through every door I'm asking you to do. 00:20:55.600 --> 00:20:59.600 Now what's your pick? I've got other doors I want you to check out. 00:20:59.600 --> 00:21:01.600 Which one do you want? That one? Great. 00:21:01.600 --> 00:21:05.600 Can I appoint you to administer that door so that now that you've understood how I work, 00:21:05.600 --> 00:21:08.600 you can decide who goes in and who stays out? 00:26:27.600 --> 00:26:31.600 But as he approaches the gate, the gate swings open. 00:26:31.600 --> 00:26:32.600 That's how this works. 00:26:33.600 --> 00:26:35.600 It swings open as you approach it. 00:26:35.600 --> 00:26:38.600 And so what happens with open doors is you can accomplish in 10 minutes 00:26:38.600 --> 00:26:40.600 what would take a person one year. 00:26:40.600 --> 00:26:45.600 You can accomplish in 10 minutes what a person would take one year to do. 00:26:45.600 --> 00:26:49.600 The opening of doors is the work of the quickening Holy Spirit. 00:26:49.600 --> 00:26:55.600 The opening of doors is the work of the Holy Spirit who quickens things. 00:26:55.600 --> 00:26:56.600 You do in 10 minutes. 00:26:56.600 --> 00:26:59.600 I was trying to figure out how do I say this, Father? It's a work of the Spirit. 00:31:10.600 --> 00:31:13.600 God will keep opening doors, man. 00:31:13.600 --> 00:31:17.600 This opening door thing is such a common thing God does. 00:31:17.600 --> 00:31:22.600 We just have to realize that the room we are living in, once we get so used to it, 00:31:22.600 --> 00:31:25.600 everything is familiar, then ask yourself this question, 00:31:25.600 --> 00:31:28.600 why am I still in this room when I know where everything is? 00:31:28.600 --> 00:31:31.600 I've been faithful. I've done everything I'm supposed to. 00:31:31.600 --> 00:31:36.600 Now it's Groundhog Day. Father, where is that door you're showing me? 00:31:36.600 --> 00:31:41.600 And if he opens it and no one can shut, then it also means that no one can stop you. 00:31:41.600 --> 00:31:47.600 If necessary, he'll move you on if the person in charge of the house is not letting you enter another room. 00:31:52.600 --> 00:31:57.600 Now the scripture we can look at is Revelation 3.20. 00:31:57.600 --> 00:32:01.600 Revelation 3.20. 00:32:01.600 --> 00:32:07.600 Where Jesus is saying, if anyone hears my voice and opens the door, 00:32:07.600 --> 00:32:11.600 I will come in and supper with you or eat with you. 00:32:11.600 --> 00:32:15.600 I will sit right down and eat with you. 00:32:15.600 --> 00:32:17.600 I will sit right down and eat with you. 00:32:17.600 --> 00:32:19.600 Revelation 3.20. 00:32:20.600 --> 00:32:25.600 If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and supper with you. 00:32:25.600 --> 00:32:36.600 One of the things that happens with open doors is that you enter into a place of heightened intimacy internally. 00:32:36.600 --> 00:32:43.600 As in, I've never stepped through an open door and no church has stepped through an open door, 00:32:43.600 --> 00:32:50.600 no incident in the Bible ever occurred where there was an open door and someone didn't step through it 00:32:50.600 --> 00:32:55.600 and become even more heightened in their intimacy or reliance upon God. 00:32:55.600 --> 00:33:00.600 Because every new door that opens, you end up liking God more. 00:33:00.600 --> 00:33:02.600 You end up being more intimate with God. 00:33:02.600 --> 00:33:07.600 You end up being more reliant on God, partly because it's highly unfamiliar territory 00:33:08.600 --> 00:33:13.600 and it's natural for a child to run to its parent in an unfamiliar place, 00:33:13.600 --> 00:33:17.600 partly because you realize what a rewarding, wonderful God he is, 00:33:17.600 --> 00:33:24.600 and partly because you just want to be more and more passionate about your service for him. 00:33:24.600 --> 00:33:28.600 It all leads to this place where there's a heightened intimacy internally. 00:33:28.600 --> 00:33:34.600 But God is literally saying, hey, as I take you through this open door, 00:33:34.600 --> 00:33:42.600 I'm available. I'm available to come and sit with you, talk to you like you haven't experienced yet. 00:33:42.600 --> 00:33:46.600 And not only is there a heightened intimacy internally, 00:33:46.600 --> 00:33:51.600 you will find that there's an increased receptivity in people around you. 00:33:51.600 --> 00:33:56.600 Increased receptivity in people around you. 00:33:56.600 --> 00:34:03.600 Or externally, there's a greater receptivity to you. 00:34:03.600 --> 00:34:05.600 There's a greater receptivity to you. 00:34:05.600 --> 00:34:11.600 People begin to notice that, ah shucks, there's something that's changed quite radically in Jacob, 00:34:11.600 --> 00:34:19.600 and I need to pay attention to what he's saying more than I normally do. 00:34:19.600 --> 00:34:24.600 More than I normally do. 00:34:24.600 --> 00:34:27.600 It's half entertaining, half distracting. 00:34:27.600 --> 00:34:34.600 I'm talking about Phoebe. 00:34:34.600 --> 00:34:38.600 I don't know if you remember what we said on the third day of Clean Hands, Pure Hearts. 00:34:38.600 --> 00:34:43.600 We talked about something called 3T65, or T-36, 3T65, 00:34:43.600 --> 00:34:50.600 as in remember to spend time, remember to show tenderness, and remember to share your treasure. 00:34:50.600 --> 00:34:57.600 And since that day, I've had occasion on every day to either share my treasure, my time, 00:34:57.600 --> 00:35:06.600 or an approach of tenderness with some stranger that has occurred every day since Thursday. 00:35:06.600 --> 00:35:12.600 This is part of this idea of increased receptivity externally. 00:35:12.600 --> 00:35:17.600 I'm just connecting it. It doesn't really connect, but I wanted to remind you. 00:35:17.600 --> 00:35:23.600 That for the next 365 days, for me it's now 362 days, because three days have gone by. 00:35:23.600 --> 00:35:29.600 For the next 362 days, God's going to provide me an opportunity every day for the rest of the year, 00:35:29.600 --> 00:35:33.600 where I will get a chance to share either my time or my treasure, 00:35:33.600 --> 00:35:39.600 or some way of encouragement or tenderness or lifting up a warmth with a stranger. 00:35:39.600 --> 00:35:42.600 It won't be someone at Acts 29, it'll be a stranger. 00:35:42.600 --> 00:35:48.600 I just have to recognize those opportunities every day, and they're going to come every day. 00:35:48.600 --> 00:35:55.600 But going back to the open door thing, 00:35:55.600 --> 00:36:01.600 these are the rewards of walking through these doors that God holds open. 00:36:01.600 --> 00:36:06.600 There's a heightened intimacy internally because God and you begin to sup together like never before, 00:36:06.600 --> 00:36:09.600 and there's an increased receptivity externally, 00:36:09.600 --> 00:36:13.600 because people know that you have been with Jesus like you haven't been before. 00:36:13.600 --> 00:36:15.600 Two or three times in the Bible they talk about that, 00:36:15.600 --> 00:36:19.600 and then they realize that these disciples had been with Jesus. 00:36:28.600 --> 00:36:36.600 Next one, 1 Corinthians 16, 9. 00:36:36.600 --> 00:36:37.600 It says that, 00:36:37.600 --> 00:36:42.600 So that is very relevant. 00:36:42.600 --> 00:37:09.600 So that is very relevant to what God is doing for us right now. 00:37:09.600 --> 00:37:13.600 God is giving us an open door in this city. 00:37:13.600 --> 00:37:15.600 He's not saying I will give. 00:37:15.600 --> 00:37:18.600 He's saying I have given. 00:37:18.600 --> 00:37:21.600 It's almost a Joshua 6.2 cents. 00:37:21.600 --> 00:37:23.600 If you go to Joshua 6.2. 00:37:23.600 --> 00:37:28.600 Joshua 6.2. 00:37:28.600 --> 00:37:30.600 It says that, 00:37:30.600 --> 00:37:31.600 It says that, 00:37:38.600 --> 00:37:39.600 Verse 1, 00:37:39.600 --> 00:37:41.600 Now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. 00:37:41.600 --> 00:37:43.600 No one went out and no one came in. 00:37:43.600 --> 00:37:48.600 So it's almost this sense of not I will give you an open door in this city. 00:37:48.600 --> 00:37:54.600 It's the sense of he has given us an open door in this city that it is already given. 00:37:54.600 --> 00:37:56.600 And so what are we supposed to do? 00:37:56.600 --> 00:38:01.600 We're supposed to pray Acts 4.29 and pray Colossians 4.3. 00:38:01.600 --> 00:38:09.600 Acts 4.29, Acts 4.29, 00:38:09.600 --> 00:38:12.600 which is a familiar prayer we prayed many times over the last four months. 00:38:12.600 --> 00:38:18.600 Acts 4.29, 00:38:18.600 --> 00:38:20.600 Now, Lord, consider their threats. 00:38:20.600 --> 00:38:23.600 Enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness. 00:38:23.600 --> 00:38:29.600 Stretch out your hand to heal and perform miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus. 00:38:29.600 --> 00:38:31.600 When you have an open door in a city, 00:38:31.600 --> 00:38:34.600 call God in Acts 29 saying, 00:38:34.600 --> 00:38:39.600 Oh God, please, I know the city is difficult, but you've given us an open door. 00:38:39.600 --> 00:38:41.600 I know there may be many who oppose us, 00:38:41.600 --> 00:38:43.600 but you've already given us an open door. 00:38:43.600 --> 00:38:51.600 Oh God, now look at the difficulties we face in the city in terms of speaking out boldly and give us the boldness. 00:38:51.600 --> 00:38:56.600 And as we begin to embrace that boldness, as we step into T365, 00:38:56.600 --> 00:39:01.600 Oh God, I ask that you begin to stretch out your hands and signs, miracles and wonders. 00:39:01.600 --> 00:39:07.600 Because he's not saying I will give you the city. 00:39:07.600 --> 00:39:13.600 Sometimes guys, when we go through these meetings and these three-day meetings and the Shekinah seven-day meetings, 00:39:13.600 --> 00:39:16.600 we think to ourselves is anything happening? --> 01:01:06.600 and what you know you have seen and will happen, unwavering, 01:01:06.600 --> 01:01:10.600 long obedience in the same direction. 01:01:10.600 --> 01:01:13.600 The very nature of the apostolic is to endure. 01:01:13.600 --> 01:01:17.600 A pioneer or a pioneering church that cannot endure 01:01:17.600 --> 01:01:19.600 is not a pioneering church 01:01:19.600 --> 01:01:23.600 because
