00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:07.000
Today we continue with Elijah and Elisha from Gilgal to Bethel. We completed Gilgal

00:00:08.160 --> 00:00:15.160
and Bethel and now we're on to Jericho. And so we said that receiving a double portion

00:00:18.880 --> 00:00:25.120
of the Spirit is not really an increase in the measure of the Spirit, it's in the increase

00:00:25.200 --> 00:00:31.320
of your capacity to receive the Spirit. Because the Spirit is a person. There's nothing double

00:00:31.320 --> 00:00:38.320
about a person. He comes in his full measure. But I can increase in my capacity to receive

00:00:39.200 --> 00:00:46.200
the Holy Spirit. And we're trying to trace the journey of Elijah and Elisha from Gilgal

00:00:47.120 --> 00:00:51.520
to Bethel to Jericho to Jordan. And that's where Elisha receives his double portion.

00:00:51.640 --> 00:00:56.960
And we're trying to extract principles out of that journey to see how we can increase

00:00:56.960 --> 00:01:01.080
in our capacity to receive the full measure of the Spirit of God. That's what we've been

00:01:01.080 --> 00:01:05.800
doing. So today we are at Jericho. Here are some things about Jericho that I want to go

00:01:05.800 --> 00:01:12.800
over. Let's see how far we get. Because whenever Jane leads worship. So Jericho is a place

00:01:12.800 --> 00:01:19.800
of faith. Jericho is a place of faith. Every one of these points that we make will help

00:01:26.840 --> 00:01:33.840
us see that if we step into what Jericho means, then it's but natural for me to increase my

00:01:34.120 --> 00:01:39.880
capacity to receive the full measure of the Holy Spirit just as Jesus did. So Jericho

00:01:39.880 --> 00:01:45.000
to begin with is a place of faith. And faith is essential for an increase in my capacity

00:01:45.000 --> 00:01:52.000
to walk with the Spirit. Faith is essential for an increase in my capacity to walk with

00:01:52.480 --> 00:01:57.440
the Holy Spirit. Because almost everything the Holy Spirit does requires me to exert

00:01:57.440 --> 00:02:04.440
a degree of faith that I don't have but that God thinks I have. Everything he does. Take

00:02:04.540 --> 00:02:08.980
any story in the Bible and you see that. When the Spirit of God asked people to do things,

00:02:08.980 --> 00:02:15.140
it was beyond them. Be David, be Noah, be any of them, it was the same. When you look

00:02:15.140 --> 00:02:20.060
at Hebrews 11, 29 and 30, hey can you keep the volume up? It went down some. When you

00:02:20.060 --> 00:02:27.060
look at Hebrews 11, 29 and 30, Hebrews 11, 29 and 30, you'll see that between verse 29

00:02:27.060 --> 00:02:33.500
and 30 there's a 40 year gap. Hebrews 11, it's fascinating that there's a gap of 40

00:02:33.500 --> 00:02:40.220
years between verse 29 and 30. Which actually then almost betrays the fact that there was

00:02:40.220 --> 00:02:45.900
very little faith exerted in the desert as they went round and round on Mount Sinai.

00:02:45.900 --> 00:02:51.840
Hebrews 11, 29 says that by an act of faith Israel walked through the Red Sea on dry ground,

00:02:51.840 --> 00:02:56.900
the Egyptians tried it and drowned. And then it skips 40 years and it comes to Hebrews

00:02:56.900 --> 00:03:01.620
11, 30 where it says, by faith the Israelites marched around the walls of Jericho for seven

00:03:01.660 --> 00:03:07.660
days and the walls fell flat. Just think of that, a 40 year gap between verse 29 and verse

00:03:07.660 --> 00:03:13.580
30. What happened to the acts of faith? Same God, Moses was around, Joshua was around,

00:03:13.580 --> 00:03:20.480
but a people, here's the crazy thing, sometimes you can miss windows of great exploits of

00:03:20.480 --> 00:03:24.380
faith that you and I are supposed to take. And we miss those windows and then it'll take

00:03:24.380 --> 00:03:29.800
another 40 years before we can step into stuff like that man. Whenever we talk about windows,

00:03:29.800 --> 00:03:35.280
people say no, God is a God of second chances. Absolutely, but he also has put you in time

00:03:35.280 --> 00:03:42.280
and because he has put you in time, there are windows. And for 40 years, you don't hear

00:03:43.680 --> 00:03:50.680
anything mentioned in Hebrews 11 of the 40 years of spent in the desert. And then verse

00:03:51.320 --> 00:03:58.320
30, it restarts again with Jericho. And when you really look at it, you see that

00:04:00.040 --> 00:04:04.880
Israel is facing a city that they had seen before. When the spies were sent out in Deuteronomy

00:04:04.880 --> 00:04:10.720
chapter one, verse 28, they talked about walled cities that were so impenetrable that it was

00:04:10.720 --> 00:04:15.840
out of question taking the land that God had promised. The 12 spies probably went past

00:04:15.840 --> 00:04:21.600
Jericho, they spied out the land and now they're once again at that same place. And now it's

00:04:21.600 --> 00:04:28.600
a different story that evolves. The thing is, without conquering Jericho, there is no

00:04:29.600 --> 00:04:34.160
possession of the promised land. Just think of that. Without conquering Jericho, there

00:04:34.160 --> 00:04:41.160
is no possession of the promised land. And you have to do it with seven priests blowing

00:04:43.520 --> 00:04:49.880
trumpets and army walking silently. That's the problem with things God invites you to.

00:04:49.880 --> 00:04:56.880
He has you do it illogically. So they're once again at the city gates, the same city gates

00:04:57.520 --> 00:05:01.080
that their fathers could not take, the same city gates that their fathers, they heard

00:05:01.080 --> 00:05:05.760
their fathers saying were impenetrable, that this is a really bad idea, don't follow Jehovah

00:05:05.760 --> 00:05:09.760
on this, you'll be eaten up like bread. And now the children are standing in front of

00:05:09.760 --> 00:05:16.760
the same gates. They haven't recorded acts of faith in between. But they know that if

00:05:17.960 --> 00:05:22.720
they don't take Jericho, they don't get to the promised land. And so your question and

00:05:22.720 --> 00:05:27.600
my question is, what is your Jericho? What is your Jericho? There are Jerichos in every

00:05:27.600 --> 00:05:32.360
life here that prevents us from taking the next big step. I mean, you hear what Jill

00:05:32.360 --> 00:05:36.520
said, you hear what Jane said, you hear what people said, and everything leads back to

00:05:36.520 --> 00:05:41.440
the same thing. I'm doing a new thing, Jacob. Abide in me. Do not despise the day of small

00:05:41.440 --> 00:05:47.400
beginnings. It is a new thing. But for me to step into this new place, and God has it

00:05:47.400 --> 00:05:51.360
prepared for me, it's always an invitation. But unfortunately, with every invitation of

00:05:51.360 --> 00:05:58.000
God comes a new requirement of trust and dependency. And therefore there are the gates

00:05:58.000 --> 00:06:01.640
of Jericho and you cannot take the promised land if you don't take Jericho. What is your

00:06:01.640 --> 00:06:08.640
Jericho? What is your Jericho? Sometimes your Jericho is sin. Sometimes your Jericho is

00:06:09.800 --> 00:06:15.040
pride. Sometimes your Jericho is independence. Sometimes your Jericho is a way of thinking.

00:06:15.040 --> 00:06:19.240
Sometimes your Jericho is your cultural upbringing. Sometimes your Jericho is mammon. Sometimes

00:06:19.240 --> 00:06:23.880
your Jericho is inferiority. Sometimes your Jericho is fear in certain areas. Sometimes

00:06:23.880 --> 00:06:29.040
your Jericho is self-consideration. I think that's one of the biggest ones in the lives

00:06:29.040 --> 00:06:35.320
of Christians, where we begin to consider ourselves before anything and everything else.

00:06:35.320 --> 00:06:42.320
Self-consideration prevents you from marching into places that are reckless. I use the word

00:06:42.560 --> 00:06:49.560
reckless and it conjures a bad image. Let me change the word reckless to risk-filled

00:06:49.560 --> 00:06:56.560
faith in God is always blunted by self-consideration. Risk-filled faith in God, which is another

00:06:57.960 --> 00:07:03.840
word for recklessness, but we won't go there. Risk-filled faith in God is always blunted

00:07:03.840 --> 00:07:10.840
by self-consideration. Where I consider myself, my life, it blunted by self-consideration.

00:07:12.440 --> 00:07:19.440
What is your Jericho? The thing is, I've got to count the cost. Here's the strange thing

00:07:21.240 --> 00:07:26.520
about what Jesus says. He says count the cost. After he says count the cost, he doesn't mean

00:07:26.520 --> 00:07:29.760
hey now that you counted your cost you know whether you can do it or not. He says count

00:07:29.760 --> 00:07:34.520
the cost, you'll realize you don't have what it takes. You'll realize you don't have what

00:07:34.520 --> 00:07:41.520
it takes. Now that you know you don't have what it takes, you'll realize you don't have

00:07:42.320 --> 00:07:49.320
what it takes. Step out and set yourself, just one sec, set yourself afloat on my power.

00:08:00.920 --> 00:08:07.920
When a king sees another king coming to attack, count the cost. Yeah, Jesus, in a parable

00:08:08.920 --> 00:08:15.080
Jesus is saying hey make sure you count the cost. And so when we hear count the cost we

00:08:15.080 --> 00:08:17.920
think okay I've got to count the cost and I've got to decide whether I want to step

00:08:17.920 --> 00:08:21.960
into this or not step into this. But that isn't what Jesus is saying. Jesus is saying

00:08:21.960 --> 00:08:26.600
count the cost and you'll realize you are so inadequate to meet it, that you don't have

00:08:26.600 --> 00:08:30.080
the ability to do it. Now that you know you don't have the ability to do it, what are

00:08:30.080 --> 00:08:37.080
you going to do? Leave your father's nets, follow me. Count the cost, really bad cost.

00:08:38.440 --> 00:08:43.800
The entire fishing business will collapse. Go around the city seven times not making

00:08:43.800 --> 00:08:50.800
a noise. Count the cost, they could pour boiling water on you and you'll die silently. Counting

00:08:52.000 --> 00:08:59.000
the cost is just so that you know you're not, you don't have it. It's a very different count

00:08:59.400 --> 00:09:06.400
the cost when it comes to Christianity. Any questions?

00:09:07.920 --> 00:09:14.920
Alex, one of the things God wants to say to you is you're so ordinary that he finds you

00:09:19.000 --> 00:09:26.000
easily reusable. You are so ordinary. You have, you're such a balanced, plain, moderate

00:09:26.000 --> 00:09:33.000
estimation about yourself. Not too high on any day, not too low on any day. You're like

00:09:33.000 --> 00:09:40.000
an ECG that is flat. And it's not a negative thing. He finds it so useful to put you into

00:09:41.000 --> 00:09:48.000
situations where it won't go to your head. So here's an invitation he's giving you today

00:09:48.000 --> 00:09:55.000
saying you're the kind of guy who I can throw into things that are turbulent and you'll

00:09:55.000 --> 00:10:00.000
come out looking like nothing ever happened. You're the kind of guy that I can put into

00:10:00.000 --> 00:10:05.000
things where people will be amazed and they'll say, oh my God, Alex, you're the next best

00:10:05.000 --> 00:10:11.000
thing in the world and you'll walk away from it not affected by it. God is saying your

00:10:12.000 --> 00:10:19.000
ordinariness is what makes you so extraordinary in my hands. You're like a piece of clay that

00:10:23.000 --> 00:10:30.000
I can do whatever I want with. So God is saying what is your answer? Because if you don't

00:10:30.000 --> 00:10:36.000
decide soon, your ordinariness will also become an anchor that weighs you down. Where it'll

00:10:36.000 --> 00:10:41.000
get to a point where it'll be like half my life is spent. My ass will continue this way

00:10:41.000 --> 00:10:46.000
because I'm happy. And God is saying your happiness really doesn't matter to me. You

00:10:46.000 --> 00:10:53.000
matter to me. So he's being a little brusque with you but at the same time he's saying

00:10:55.000 --> 00:11:00.000
please, Alex, allow me to take your ordinariness and do something with it. So at some point

00:11:00.000 --> 00:11:05.000
today, maybe towards the end of the teaching, you'll get an opportunity to, between you

00:11:05.000 --> 00:11:12.000
and God, I'd suggest you respond because it could be a life-turner. Yeah? Can I just

00:11:18.000 --> 00:11:25.000
pray for you? Just stay there. I'm one of those humble pastors who comes to people.

00:11:28.000 --> 00:11:31.000
Father, I just lay hands on this man and the reason I do it after saying what I did is

00:11:31.000 --> 00:11:38.000
so that I can stir within him what you have put in him. His ordinariness is just his approach

00:11:39.000 --> 00:11:46.000
to life, his mental attitude and you actually treasure it because it makes him highly usable.

00:11:46.000 --> 00:11:51.000
You can make him into a beautiful vase and then completely take the clay, put it back

00:11:51.000 --> 00:11:55.000
on the potter's wheel and nobody will even know that he was a priceless vase. That's

00:11:56.000 --> 00:12:03.000
the kind of guy that's his father. But then he can also settle and just be ordinary. And

00:12:03.000 --> 00:12:08.000
so in the name of Jesus Christ I lay hands on him, Father, I break within him the monotony

00:12:08.000 --> 00:12:15.000
that is trying to creep up, the complacency that he's trying to creep up, the I'm okay

00:12:15.000 --> 00:12:20.000
where I am that is trying to creep up. I say no to that in the name of Jesus Christ, Father,

00:12:20.000 --> 00:12:24.000
and I begin to stir up waters within him. I stir up the water within him. I stir up the

00:12:24.000 --> 00:12:28.000
waters within him even if it muddies things in his life, even if it puts things out of

00:12:28.000 --> 00:12:32.000
balance, even if it brings up things from his past that he'll have to deal with in the

00:12:32.000 --> 00:12:37.000
name of Jesus Christ. I pray, Father, that this man be so discomfited over the next three

00:12:37.000 --> 00:12:41.000
months that he will cry out saying, Oh God, take me a piece of clay and put it on your

00:12:41.000 --> 00:12:46.000
wheel and do with it what you want to because use my ordinariness the way you can. That

00:12:46.000 --> 00:12:50.000
is what makes this man extraordinary, Father. So I stir it up within him right now in the

00:12:51.000 --> 00:12:58.000
name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Thanks, man. Any questions on Jericho? We'll need Jericho,

00:13:01.000 --> 00:13:08.000
a place of faith to walk into things of disparity. We'll need it. Begin to look at some of your

00:13:08.000 --> 00:13:14.000
troubles as opportunities to exert faith. Begin to look at some of your present troubles

00:13:14.000 --> 00:13:19.000
as opportunities to exert faith so that God can show off through you. Don't see them as

00:13:20.000 --> 00:13:26.000
things that are going to destroy you or pull you down. God does not create failures and

00:13:26.000 --> 00:13:30.000
when we are failures, he's still able to take it and make something out of it. Begin to

00:13:30.000 --> 00:13:36.000
see some of your troubles as opportunities for faith that can change both your situation

00:13:36.000 --> 00:13:43.000
and others through it. Don't see them as punishment. Don't see them as, Oh, why am I in this situation?

00:13:44.000 --> 00:13:51.000
Second, Jericho is a place of breakthrough. Jericho is a place of breakthrough. Jericho

00:13:57.000 --> 00:14:04.000
is a place of breakthrough. And the thing with breakthrough, guys, is breakthrough believers

00:14:05.400 --> 00:14:12.400
are people that are okay or sometimes even enthusiastic about stepping into the unknown,

00:14:12.400 --> 00:14:19.400
stepping into the unfamiliar, and stepping into that which is unclaimed. In Micah chapter

00:14:19.400 --> 00:14:24.400
2, verse 12 and 13, it talks about how God will gather his people and then he'll form

00:14:24.400 --> 00:14:29.400
them into a people that he will lead and he will be the master of breakthroughs or the

00:14:29.400 --> 00:14:35.400
one that breaks a breach in a stronghold and takes his people through. Micah chapter 2,

00:14:35.400 --> 00:14:41.400
verse 12 and 13, your God is a God of breakthrough. Your God is continuously entering into places

00:14:42.400 --> 00:14:48.400
that he hasn't entered before. Jesus came to change what was normal. It is not possible

00:14:48.400 --> 00:14:55.400
to enter into breakthrough without being willing to continuously have this idea in your head

00:14:55.400 --> 00:15:00.400
that God is going to bring things unfamiliar into my life because he's interested in changing

00:15:00.400 --> 00:15:06.400
me. And then once he changes me, he's able to change everything around me. And it does

00:15:06.400 --> 00:15:13.400
not happen except through that which is unfamiliar, that which is unknown, and that which is unclaimed.

00:15:13.400 --> 00:15:18.400
It is the only way breakthrough happens, guys. Stick with the familiar, stick with that which

00:15:18.400 --> 00:15:23.400
has already been claimed, and stick with that which is known. And there will be no change

00:15:23.400 --> 00:15:29.400
because a seed does not, does not, does not change if it doesn't hit something unfamiliar

00:15:29.400 --> 00:15:36.400
called the soil. Nothing happens. We've talked about this many times before and I want to

00:15:36.400 --> 00:15:42.400
bring it up again. Begin to develop almost a secret enthusiasm for the unknown and the

00:15:42.400 --> 00:15:52.400
unfamiliar. Where inside you, you train your heart, you train your heart to look forward

00:15:52.400 --> 00:16:00.400
to that which is scaring you. You train your heart to look forward to that which is scaring

00:16:00.400 --> 00:16:12.400
you. Because once you overcome that place, my God, man, everything opens up. Any questions?

00:16:12.400 --> 00:16:24.400
You think Gideon wasn't afraid? You think Joseph wasn't afraid? You're getting thrown into a pit

00:16:24.400 --> 00:16:28.400
which is supposed to be prison for the next little while. You think he was praising the Lord?

00:16:28.400 --> 00:16:38.400
Trust me, he wasn't. That was Paul. You think Jacob wasn't afraid? Our guy was so scared, he ran.

00:16:38.400 --> 00:16:48.400
You think Moses wasn't afraid? God had to get angry with him. Who gave you a mouth? You think Peter

00:16:48.400 --> 00:16:59.400
wasn't afraid? Many, many times. Me being afraid of something doesn't mean I don't step into it.

00:16:59.400 --> 00:17:05.400
Me being afraid of something is I begin to train myself inside saying, who am I to be afraid when I have

00:17:05.400 --> 00:17:15.400
you as a God? That's where I start. How dare you be afraid, Jacob, if you have God as your God? You can

00:17:15.400 --> 00:17:21.400
either start breaking something by going up slowly or you can start breaking something by jumping right in.

00:17:21.400 --> 00:17:28.400
Up to you. Depends on your ways of God. But begin to train yourself inside your heart saying, I will not be

00:17:28.400 --> 00:17:32.400
afraid of the unknown, the unfamiliar, the unsettled because that is how I change and that is how God

00:17:32.400 --> 00:17:42.400
uses me to change things. Any questions? It will require that I refuse to be bound by prevailing mindsets.

00:17:42.400 --> 00:17:52.400
I refuse to be bound by prevailing mindsets. As in what is my prevailing mindset with regard to certain things,

00:17:52.400 --> 00:17:58.400
certain people, certain areas. The next one is so critical. I refuse to be bound by spiritual sufficiency.

00:17:58.400 --> 00:18:04.400
Spiritual sufficiency is that place where you like where you are and everything is really going well spiritually.

00:18:04.400 --> 00:18:12.400
Oh, happy day. And everything is happy day. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. It's a good thing.

00:18:12.400 --> 00:18:18.400
It's a good place spiritually. Most people should aim for that. That's where you, I mean, when you hit that, it's like the sweet spot.

00:18:18.400 --> 00:18:24.400
And God is saying, hey, no sweet spots for you from now on. Just when you hit the sweet spot, I'll take you to a new place

00:18:24.400 --> 00:18:32.400
where you'll taste a new dessert that's made of durian, which is another thing altogether. Yeah.

00:18:32.400 --> 00:18:38.400
So refuse to be bound by prevailing mindsets, refuse to be bound by spiritual sufficiency, refuse to be bound by present demands.

00:18:38.400 --> 00:18:48.400
Present demands. Present demands are when things have a demand on me right now, which by the way,

00:18:48.400 --> 00:18:54.400
I'm not going to be able to do it. I'm not going to be able to do it. I'm not going to be able to do it.

00:18:54.400 --> 00:19:04.400
So I'm saying that when things have a demand on me right now, which makes it impossible on me right now,

00:19:04.400 --> 00:19:14.400
which makes it impossible for me to follow God, which makes it impossible to follow God.

00:19:14.400 --> 00:19:22.400
To follow God. So I'm not saying that you can change tomorrow.

00:19:22.400 --> 00:19:28.400
I'm saying that in our hearts we have to train ourselves to refuse to be bound by prevailing mindsets,

00:19:28.400 --> 00:19:32.400
refuse to be bound by spiritual sufficiency, refuse to be bound by present demands.

00:19:32.400 --> 00:19:40.400
Train myself there that, okay, I'll get better tomorrow so that if you place a demand on me, I'll be able to do what you want me to,

00:19:40.400 --> 00:19:48.400
I'll be able to learn from my father, leave my nets and walk away with you. It is something that I have to train myself to.

00:19:48.400 --> 00:19:54.400
Any questions?

00:19:54.400 --> 00:20:00.400
Anything that he asks us to do, he's already done, eh?

00:20:00.400 --> 00:20:10.400
This is what then will give us advantages and influences in this area when people are willing to be so unfamiliar.

00:20:10.400 --> 00:20:20.400
Any questions? Wow, easy crowd today. Go ahead.

00:20:20.400 --> 00:20:30.400
No, I'm saying I should train my heart in such a way that I'll be faithful to what I'm doing right now.

00:20:30.400 --> 00:20:38.400
But if tomorrow I know without a shadow of a doubt that I'm supposed to leave my nets and leave my dad and walk away from fishing,

00:20:38.400 --> 00:20:46.400
I'm in a place to do that without cost and benefit analysis. I can leave it.

00:20:46.400 --> 00:20:52.400
I've got to train myself like that because if I don't, tomorrow when the demand is made of me, I ain't able to move.

00:20:52.400 --> 00:21:02.400
So you have to be faithful to what you've been called to, eh? But you've got to train yourself to walk away from it.

00:21:02.400 --> 00:21:12.400
If?

00:21:12.400 --> 00:21:18.400
Yeah, we've got to get to a place where there is no if.

00:21:18.400 --> 00:21:26.400
Tomorrow if God says, okay, take a walk away from Acts 29, oh my God, that would be terrible.

00:21:26.400 --> 00:21:32.400
I should be able to train my heart to do it.

00:21:32.400 --> 00:21:38.400
Hey, I walked away from Vancouver. You think that was easy?

00:21:38.400 --> 00:21:46.400
Next one. Jericho is where your inheritance is possessed.

00:21:46.400 --> 00:21:58.400
Jericho is where your inheritance is possessed.

00:21:58.400 --> 00:22:12.400
When God gives you stuff, but he expects you to either seize it or appropriate it.

00:22:12.400 --> 00:22:16.400
Seize it as a little violent. Appropriate it as a little more gradual.

00:22:16.400 --> 00:22:22.400
But he expects that. When he gives you something, he expects you to seize it or appropriate it.

00:22:22.400 --> 00:22:34.400
The very word possess comes from a Hebrew word called yarash, which means dispossess to possess.

00:22:34.400 --> 00:22:42.400
So there is this idea whenever God talks about, I want you to possess your inheritance, there is this idea that, listen,

00:22:42.400 --> 00:22:48.400
there is required if you need to seize things or to appropriate things. Seizing is a little more violent.

00:22:48.400 --> 00:22:54.400
Appropriating is a more gradual process. But anyways, when something is given, it has to be seized or appropriate.

00:22:54.400 --> 00:22:58.400
But why, Jacob, why should something be seized or appropriated when God is giving it?

00:22:58.400 --> 00:23:04.400
Because whenever you are given an inheritance, remember there is a rival kingdom.

00:23:04.400 --> 00:23:10.400
There is a rival kingdom that knows that if you get your inheritance, it will be a great damage to the rival kingdom.

00:23:10.400 --> 00:23:14.400
So a few things that will be attempted is a resistance to what God is giving you.

00:23:14.400 --> 00:23:24.400
There is this word that I am still trying to pronounce, obfuscation. Thank you. Opposition.

00:23:24.400 --> 00:23:40.400
And the last one is deconstruction. And you will see this when you read Deuteronomy 9, 1-5, Numbers 33, 52-56, Deuteronomy 9, 1-5.

00:23:40.400 --> 00:23:46.400
Deuteronomy 9, 1-5. God is giving them their possession, but listen to what he says.

00:23:46.400 --> 00:23:53.400
Attention Israel, this very day you are crossing the Jordan to enter the land and dispossessed nations that are much bigger and stronger than you are.

00:23:53.400 --> 00:23:59.400
You are going to find huge cities with sky high fortress walls and gigantic people, descendants of the Anakites.

00:23:59.400 --> 00:24:04.400
You have heard all about them. You have heard them saying no one can stand up against an Anakite. God is not helping here.

00:24:04.400 --> 00:24:12.400
Today know this. God your God is crossing the river ahead of you. He is a consuming fire. He will destroy the nations. He will put them under your power.

00:24:12.400 --> 00:24:16.400
You will dispossess them and very quickly wipe them out just as God has promised.

00:24:16.400 --> 00:24:23.400
And so there is this idea that listen I am giving you this land, but I am also going to show you who I am and I am also going to change you in the process.

00:24:23.400 --> 00:24:33.400
So if you want to inherit anything that God is giving you, it doesn't matter whether it is these things that were spoken of this morning or whether it is something that has been promised to you.

00:24:33.400 --> 00:24:42.400
If you think that when God gives it will just fall on you like a soft bathroom. It ain't happening.

00:24:42.400 --> 00:24:50.400
It is this idea of either appropriating it or seizing it because there will be resistance.

00:24:50.400 --> 00:25:02.400
There will be obfuscation. Obfuscation is when he wants to get out of this pew and I am stopping him. I will stand here or I will stand like this or I will sit like this.

00:25:02.400 --> 00:25:09.400
It depends. Sorry it rained. That is called obfuscation where he doesn't get a chance to get out because I am blocking his way.

00:25:09.400 --> 00:25:23.400
It is just this annoying delay and then there is opposition where people will oppose you and then there is deconstruction where God says listen now that you have come into the land I need you to deconstruct this place

00:25:23.400 --> 00:25:31.400
where you break down every idol, where you remove every altar, where you raise down everything that they have built that was to Molech or to some other god.

00:25:31.400 --> 00:25:40.400
I want you to cleanse this land before you start again. That is deconstruction.

00:25:40.400 --> 00:25:49.400
For all this we need the Holy Spirit. It is so easy living a life without all this. That is called a church life.

00:25:49.400 --> 00:25:59.400
Just don't do any of this. Come every Sunday, attend a Bible study and you can live happily ever after. Plus you go to heaven. It is actually a good deal. But there is a better deal.

00:25:59.400 --> 00:26:19.400
What is your name? I know you were Jaden. I know you were David. Luke, can you come out? Why do you have to be taller than me?

00:26:19.400 --> 00:26:36.400
Can I just pray for you? What can you do? I just pray for Luke right now. Father, some of the things that we are going to talk about today are going to happen through his life.

00:26:36.400 --> 00:26:47.400
He won't even have to pay attention father. Even if he tries to shut his ears he won't be able to escape it. Even if he looks at his phone and plays video games he will catch everything he is supposed to.

00:26:47.400 --> 00:27:01.400
Were you playing video games? Okay. What I am trying to say father is that even if he tries not to pay attention some of the things being said today he will end up doing.

00:27:01.400 --> 00:27:19.400
This boy will be a boy who matures in exploits of faith. Some of these Joshua like characters will be his thing. Right now he looks like he doesn't have a care in the world but this guy is alert about it. He hears.

00:27:19.400 --> 00:27:32.400
So I thank you Abba that as he hears today he will remember this day many years from now saying you caught me then and you have fulfilled what you told me. Thank you for bringing him here.

00:27:32.400 --> 00:27:41.400
He thinks he came here because his parents came here. What he doesn't know is how you set it up for him. So I bless him in Jesus name. Amen.

00:27:49.400 --> 00:28:08.400
And guys the thing is if we don't seize or appropriate our inheritance and you let things stay that should be removed what will happen is it will turn to barbs in your eyes and thorns in your side.

00:28:08.400 --> 00:28:21.400
When I am given something and I am told to deal with it a certain way when I choose to amend what God is saying. If God says hey Jacob this is how I want you to build Acts 29. If I amend it it will run smooth. People will be happy.

00:28:21.400 --> 00:28:34.400
But later on it will become barbs in your eyes and thorns in your side. Whatever you are told to do, do it without shifting. There is no amending.

00:28:34.400 --> 00:28:44.400
We amend things. The reason we amend things is because it is so much more palatable. It is so much easier to do. You don't affect people.

00:28:44.400 --> 00:28:50.400
Any questions?

00:28:50.400 --> 00:28:56.400
We might actually finish this.

00:28:56.400 --> 00:29:09.400
Next one. Jericho is a place where you see spirit, strategic, obedience and evidence.

00:29:09.400 --> 00:29:18.400
Obedience and evidence. Everything about Jericho was so spirit, strategic.

00:29:18.400 --> 00:29:29.400
The strategy is very simple when it comes to the Holy Spirit. Hey can you hear me? Ah you can. Can you obey? Can you stop when I tell you?

00:29:29.400 --> 00:29:37.400
Simple eh? Did you hear me? Great you did. Now will you please obey without amending?

00:29:37.400 --> 00:29:45.400
And then the last one is can you stop when I tell you? Don't stop till I tell you to stop. And stop when I tell you to stop.

00:29:45.400 --> 00:30:00.400
Jericho was so spirit, strategic. Where everything was told eh? You got to do it this way. You got to now take this step. Everything was told.

00:30:00.400 --> 00:30:09.400
This is something I am looking forward to as a church and I pray God for you as an individual. Whenever you are told something, hear, obey.

00:30:09.400 --> 00:30:17.400
If you are not sure of what you are hearing, go check it with somebody. Check it with the word. But hear, obey, stop when you are told.

00:30:17.400 --> 00:30:27.400
Don't add anything to it. And the two ways you hear and obey is to first look at what I have heard. Does it match up with the word? Does it match up with the nature of God?

00:30:27.400 --> 00:30:35.400
Does it match up with the people that I have checked with who probably have walked this before? What do they say about it?

00:30:35.400 --> 00:30:47.400
In that order eh? The nature of God, the word of God, people that have walked before me. Compare it and then decide okay, now I got to take this risk of obeying.

00:30:47.400 --> 00:30:55.400
Guys, unless and again I am going to use the word reckless. Once you recognize the voice of God, if you are not reckless you will not be able to step into it.

00:30:55.400 --> 00:31:02.400
Once you recognize the voice of God, if you are not reckless you will not be able to see through. Let me throw in another R word.

00:31:02.400 --> 00:31:10.400
Once you recognize God, if you are not reckless, once you recognize the voice of God, if you are not reckless you will not realize it.

00:31:10.400 --> 00:31:21.400
Once you recognize the voice of God, if you are not reckless you will not realize it. You cannot.

00:31:21.400 --> 00:31:26.400
Any questions?

00:31:26.400 --> 00:31:34.400
You will not, yeah. I mean we can pray about it, we can sing about it, we can even write about it and talk about it but we will not realize it.

00:31:34.400 --> 00:31:46.400
Is it also possible that basically if you doubt then you lose the, you lose the conviction, like can you lose the whole thing to begin with?

00:31:46.400 --> 00:31:54.400
Like you won't recognize that it is God, like first you believe it and then you, and then you don't act on it and then you don't believe it is God.

00:31:54.400 --> 00:32:02.400
The longer I take to obey something that I know is God, the more I will find myself coming up with reasons not to do it.

00:32:02.400 --> 00:32:11.400
I mean I love the story when Jeevan had to give his car away and he is sitting there and he thinks the best idea is to call his mom.

00:32:11.400 --> 00:32:16.400
So he calls up his mom and says, mom, God is asking me to give my car to this guy I am supposed to give a ride to.

00:32:16.400 --> 00:32:21.400
And his mom says, do it now, the longer you take, the less likely it is that you will give the car away.

00:32:21.400 --> 00:32:23.400
Really bad advice from a mom.

00:32:23.400 --> 00:32:28.400
Any sensible mom would say, son, this is a really bad idea, keep the car to yourself.

00:32:28.400 --> 00:32:35.400
No, his mom says, give it away, do not think about it, the longer you think about it, the less likely it is that you will give something like that away.

00:32:35.400 --> 00:32:39.400
This idea of committing is so critical.

00:32:39.400 --> 00:32:41.400
It's a woman who has done that.

00:32:41.400 --> 00:32:42.400
Pardon?

00:32:42.400 --> 00:32:46.400
That's a woman who has experienced that and knows the truth about it.

00:32:46.400 --> 00:32:47.400
Yeah.

00:32:49.400 --> 00:32:55.400
So Jeevan, in your life, is it an emotional experience or is it...?

00:32:55.400 --> 00:33:04.400
So let's say God says to you tomorrow that, hey, I want you to go to Ukraine and you recognize the voice is God.

00:33:04.400 --> 00:33:10.400
And that is really reckless for you to now go to Ukraine because you don't even know if you'll come back.

00:33:10.400 --> 00:33:22.400
And the longer you take, the less likely it is that you will realize that action because you'll be pumped with so much information that is contrary to it being a good thing to do.

00:33:22.400 --> 00:33:28.400
So there is this idea of committing to things once I know it is God that is critical.

00:33:28.400 --> 00:33:31.400
And we need the Spirit of God for that, eh?

00:33:32.400 --> 00:33:35.400
So we have then an opinion, Senator.

00:33:35.400 --> 00:33:36.400
Yep.

00:33:40.400 --> 00:33:47.400
To be Spirit-strategic is to take stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament and begin to use them.

00:33:47.400 --> 00:33:51.400
I'm not sure we are well-versed in that, eh?

00:33:51.400 --> 00:33:55.400
But there is enough precedence in this Church to actually begin to practice it.

00:33:56.400 --> 00:34:03.400
Do you know how to shut the lion's mouth?

00:34:03.400 --> 00:34:05.400
Do you know how to fight the bear?

00:34:05.400 --> 00:34:06.400
Do you know how to slay Goliath?

00:34:06.400 --> 00:34:12.400
Do you know how to catch the foxes, tie their tails together, set their tails on fire and send them back into the enemy's standing grain?

00:34:12.400 --> 00:34:14.400
Do you know how to send confusion to Babel?

00:34:14.400 --> 00:34:17.400
Do you know how to set the prey of the mighty free?

00:34:17.400 --> 00:34:19.400
Do you know how to expose Antichrist?

00:34:19.400 --> 00:34:20.400
Do you know how to subdue Mammon?

00:34:20.400 --> 00:34:22.400
Do you know how to deal with Leviathan?

00:34:22.400 --> 00:34:24.400
Do you know what to do with Jezebel?

00:34:24.400 --> 00:34:25.400
Do you know how to deal with Legion?

00:34:25.400 --> 00:34:27.400
Do you know how to dismantle systems?

00:34:27.400 --> 00:34:29.400
Do you know how to dismantle the Pharisaical system?

00:34:29.400 --> 00:34:31.400
Do you know what to do with Artemis?

00:34:31.400 --> 00:34:35.400
Do you know how to confront powers like Moses did in Pharaoh's court?

00:34:35.400 --> 00:34:37.400
Do you know how?

00:34:37.400 --> 00:34:41.400
This is how you increase in the capacity of being Spirit-strategic.

00:34:41.400 --> 00:34:51.400
We've got to take stories from the Old Testament and the New Testament and try them out in prayer and in real-life situations to see if we actually get evidence and results.

00:34:51.400 --> 00:34:53.400
If we don't try this, we don't get evidence.

00:34:53.400 --> 00:34:57.400
But if you try them and fail, at least you're falling in the right direction.

00:35:02.400 --> 00:35:04.400
No questions on that one?

00:35:06.400 --> 00:35:07.400
Too many.

00:35:07.400 --> 00:35:08.400
Too many, okay.

00:35:08.400 --> 00:35:11.400
But this is what it means to be Spirit-strategic.

00:35:11.400 --> 00:35:17.400
To be Spirit-strategic is to go into the book of war, which is what we're calling the Bible for a second.

00:35:17.400 --> 00:35:21.400
Go into the book of war and see the strategy of the Spirit in the book.

00:35:21.400 --> 00:35:25.400
And take those strategies and apply them to life.

00:35:25.400 --> 00:35:28.400
And you apply them to life and see if they work.

00:35:28.400 --> 00:35:31.400
And if they don't work, you change them.

00:35:32.400 --> 00:35:41.400
I know some of you have heard this story, but when my papers were stuck in Vegreville, Alberta, Roland Tan's wife comes and says to me,

00:35:41.400 --> 00:35:44.400
Hey Jacob, little foxes are spoiling your vine.

00:35:44.400 --> 00:35:48.400
I know where that scripture is in the Song of Songs, but I don't know what to do with it.

00:35:49.400 --> 00:35:50.400
What do you do with it?

00:35:50.400 --> 00:35:52.400
Little foxes are spoiling your vine.

00:35:52.400 --> 00:35:58.400
I'm praying like crazy saying, let my immigration papers that are stuck in Vegreville be released and nothing's happening.

00:35:58.400 --> 00:36:00.400
I got two days left.

00:36:00.400 --> 00:36:03.400
If nothing happens in two days, I got to leave the country.

00:36:03.400 --> 00:36:04.400
Because everything is done.

00:36:04.400 --> 00:36:06.400
I just need these papers released.

00:36:06.400 --> 00:36:12.400
And so finally I come across this story from Samson where Samson slew a whole lot of foxes.

00:36:12.400 --> 00:36:14.400
So I decide that's what I'm going to do.

00:36:15.400 --> 00:36:21.400
I said, I don't know what these foxes are that are beginning to spoil my vineyard or spoil my vine, prevent these papers from being released.

00:36:21.400 --> 00:36:23.400
I slay these foxes.

00:36:23.400 --> 00:36:25.400
I'm praying and nothing is happening.

00:36:25.400 --> 00:36:30.400
I remember going up to this pastor's wife and talking to her and she said, go read the Samson story again.

00:36:30.400 --> 00:36:31.400
So I go read it again.

00:36:31.400 --> 00:36:33.400
And here's what happens in the story.

00:36:34.400 --> 00:36:39.400
Samson catches those foxes, ties the tails together, sets the tails on fire by putting a torch between the tails,

00:36:39.400 --> 00:36:44.400
sends it back into the enemy's standing grain and it not only takes care of the foxes,

00:36:44.400 --> 00:36:48.400
it destroys the enemy's grain and it causes the enemy to pay a high cost.

00:36:48.400 --> 00:36:51.400
Next morning I get up and I pray that.

00:36:51.400 --> 00:36:54.400
The father, I catch these foxes that are preventing my papers from being released.

00:36:54.400 --> 00:36:59.400
I tie their tails together, I set their tails on fire, I send it back to the standing grain of the enemy.

00:36:59.400 --> 00:37:01.400
Twenty minutes later I get a call from Vegreville saying,

00:37:01.400 --> 00:37:04.400
we just want you to know that 20 minutes ago we released your papers.

00:37:04.400 --> 00:37:05.400
They're on their way.

00:37:05.400 --> 00:37:08.400
I got the papers within four or five hours.

00:37:09.400 --> 00:37:16.400
That is the first time I realized that to go into the book and take strategies that were authored by the Spirit

00:37:16.400 --> 00:37:23.400
and apply them deftly to the present situation is a thing that we are called to do

00:37:23.400 --> 00:37:26.400
because it says, wield the sword of the Spirit.

00:37:26.400 --> 00:37:29.400
Wielding the sword of the Spirit is a skill.

00:37:29.400 --> 00:37:33.400
Give a child a sword and bad things can happen.

00:37:33.400 --> 00:37:39.400
But if you teach the child how to wield the sword, you'll have to rename him Zoro.

00:37:39.400 --> 00:37:43.400
That's how this works.

00:37:43.400 --> 00:37:46.400
And only the Spirit of God can do this because he's the Spirit.

00:37:46.400 --> 00:37:51.400
He's called the, the word is called the sword of the Spirit.

00:37:51.400 --> 00:37:54.400
Use strategies, man.

00:37:54.400 --> 00:37:59.400
And the New Testament, yeah, both.

00:37:59.400 --> 00:38:00.400
Okay, next one.

00:38:00.400 --> 00:38:03.400
Jericho is a place.

00:38:03.400 --> 00:38:06.400
What time is it?

00:38:06.400 --> 00:38:09.400
Did you say that happily or sadly?

00:38:09.400 --> 00:38:14.400
All those funds.

00:38:14.400 --> 00:38:18.400
Yeah.

00:38:18.400 --> 00:38:21.400
Jericho is a place of unity and order.

00:38:21.400 --> 00:38:26.400
Place of unity in order.

00:38:26.400 --> 00:38:29.400
In order.

00:38:29.400 --> 00:38:31.400
Place of unity in order.

00:38:31.400 --> 00:38:32.400
Oh, sorry.

00:38:32.400 --> 00:38:35.400
Place of order in unity.

00:38:35.400 --> 00:38:36.400
Place of order in unity.

00:38:36.400 --> 00:38:38.400
It's crazy, man, when you look at it.

00:38:38.400 --> 00:38:42.400
All the soldiers had to march together.

00:38:42.400 --> 00:38:46.400
Any person who was armed had to march.

00:38:46.400 --> 00:38:50.400
There was order in unity.

00:38:50.400 --> 00:38:53.400
There was, they had to march silently.

00:38:53.400 --> 00:38:55.400
There were specific commands given.

00:38:55.400 --> 00:38:57.400
You can't do what you want.

00:38:57.400 --> 00:38:58.400
March silently.

00:38:58.400 --> 00:39:00.400
You had to have seven priests.

00:39:00.400 --> 00:39:03.400
Seven priests up front.

00:39:03.400 --> 00:39:08.400
They had trumpets.

00:39:08.400 --> 00:39:12.400
There was the ark that had a certain position in the arrangement.

00:39:12.400 --> 00:39:20.400
Then there were soldiers in front and soldiers in the back.

00:39:20.400 --> 00:39:22.400
There was no war cry.

00:39:22.400 --> 00:39:25.400
They were very specifically told in verse 10 of Joshua 6,

00:39:25.400 --> 00:39:29.400
no war cry, no voices.

00:39:29.400 --> 00:39:33.400
This wasn't a, hey guys, let's go march around the walls.

00:39:33.400 --> 00:39:36.400
Just whisper and occasionally go, ah.

00:39:36.400 --> 00:39:39.400
No, it was like you've got to be completely still.

00:39:39.400 --> 00:39:44.400
And occasionally the trumpets will be blown.

00:39:44.400 --> 00:39:46.400
There was a certain order.

00:39:46.400 --> 00:39:48.400
The soldiers had to march up front.

00:39:48.400 --> 00:39:49.400
Then there was the priest.

00:39:49.400 --> 00:39:50.400
Then there was the ark.

00:39:50.400 --> 00:39:52.400
Then there was the soldiers behind.

00:39:52.400 --> 00:39:53.400
Everything had unity.

00:39:53.400 --> 00:39:54.400
Everything had order.

00:39:54.400 --> 00:39:56.400
They even had distance.

00:39:56.400 --> 00:39:59.400
I don't know if they had distance when they marched around Jericho,

00:39:59.400 --> 00:40:01.400
but when you read Joshua 3, verse 4,

00:40:01.400 --> 00:40:03.400
you find that God is actually saying to Israel,

00:40:03.400 --> 00:40:07.400
hey listen, I want you to keep 2,000 cubits away from the ark.

00:40:07.400 --> 00:40:09.400
Position yourself at a distance.

00:40:09.400 --> 00:40:10.400
You know why?

00:40:10.400 --> 00:40:12.400
Because you haven't gone this way before.

00:40:12.400 --> 00:40:17.400
There are times when God will insist that you keep a distance from him

00:40:17.400 --> 00:40:18.400
as he takes you down a path.

00:40:18.400 --> 00:40:21.400
There are other times when God will say, hey, I want you to be intimate with me.

00:40:21.400 --> 00:40:24.400
Jump into my arms and he'll carry you.

00:40:24.400 --> 00:40:27.400
Every time God invites you into something,

00:40:27.400 --> 00:40:30.400
figure out where he wants you to stand and watch.

00:40:30.400 --> 00:40:33.400
There are times when God wants you to be intimate with him,

00:40:33.400 --> 00:40:36.400
where he'll say, John, Peter, James, come with me.

00:40:36.400 --> 00:40:39.400
He'll take them right with them up Mount of Transfiguration

00:40:39.400 --> 00:40:42.400
so that they can see something that no man has ever seen before.

00:40:42.400 --> 00:40:44.400
And then there are other times that God will say,

00:40:44.400 --> 00:40:46.400
hey Jacob, follow me at a distance,

00:40:46.400 --> 00:40:50.400
because next time I won't be here and you'll have to take Wayne with you.

00:40:50.400 --> 00:40:54.400
If you follow me at a distance, you will look and see the footsteps that I take

00:40:54.400 --> 00:40:55.400
and you'll be able to take the same.

00:40:55.400 --> 00:40:59.400
Every invitation comes with this idea of,

00:40:59.400 --> 00:41:02.400
listen, this is how I want you to walk.

00:41:05.400 --> 00:41:08.400
It's fabulous to know how God wants you to walk.

00:41:08.400 --> 00:41:10.400
It's the same thing we do with our kids.

00:41:10.400 --> 00:41:14.400
Sometimes we'll grab their hands and walk with them side to side, arm to arm.

00:41:14.400 --> 00:41:16.400
And there are other times that you'll say to your child,

00:41:16.400 --> 00:41:20.400
walk behind me and as daddy puts a step on the dry ground,

00:41:20.400 --> 00:41:22.400
you put your step on the dry ground too,

00:41:22.400 --> 00:41:24.400
because otherwise your shoes will get really ugly

00:41:24.400 --> 00:41:26.400
and your mom will have things to say about it.

00:41:29.400 --> 00:41:31.400
That's how this works, man.

00:41:32.400 --> 00:41:34.400
There is unity.

00:41:34.400 --> 00:41:36.400
There's order and unity.

00:41:36.400 --> 00:41:40.400
Order and oneness are critical to increase spiritual capacity.

00:41:40.400 --> 00:41:43.400
Critical. 1 Corinthians 12, 1 Corinthians 14, that's what it's about.

00:41:43.400 --> 00:41:46.400
You are all diverse. You have all different spiritual gifts.

00:41:46.400 --> 00:41:50.400
But if there is no order, I want you to know that I'm a spirit of order.

00:41:50.400 --> 00:41:53.400
When I bring oneness together, there is order to my oneness.

00:41:54.400 --> 00:42:00.400
Remember that song, the knee bone to the this bone and that bone and...

00:42:00.400 --> 00:42:02.400
Remember that Sunday school song?

00:42:03.400 --> 00:42:04.400
Pardon?

00:42:06.400 --> 00:42:09.400
Okay, you guys are really old. You forgot that song.

00:42:13.400 --> 00:42:15.400
Any questions on that one?

00:42:15.400 --> 00:42:17.400
Ah, guys, if we can only get that right.

00:42:17.400 --> 00:42:19.400
I was going through this and I think to myself,

00:42:19.400 --> 00:42:23.400
Father, please Lord, help me to know the distance that I need to maintain sometimes.

00:42:23.400 --> 00:42:27.400
Sometimes our way of operating with him is so formulaic.

00:42:30.400 --> 00:42:34.400
There are times when I need to watch him from a distance so that I can avoid mind fields.

00:42:35.400 --> 00:42:39.400
There are times when I need to watch him from a distance so that I can avoid mind fields.

00:42:42.400 --> 00:42:44.400
It's not the same always.

00:42:46.400 --> 00:42:47.400
Okay.

00:42:48.400 --> 00:42:50.400
Jericho is a place of prophetic destiny.

00:42:51.400 --> 00:42:55.400
Jericho is a place of prophetic destiny.

00:42:56.400 --> 00:42:59.400
Everything about that journey in Jericho was so...

00:43:00.400 --> 00:43:02.400
I mean, to begin with, in verse 2,

00:43:02.400 --> 00:43:04.400
I mean, to begin with, in verse 2,

00:43:05.400 --> 00:43:08.400
the commander of the armies of heaven is saying to Joshua,

00:43:08.400 --> 00:43:12.400
Hey Joshua, and he's foretelling what is going to happen.

00:43:12.400 --> 00:43:14.400
I have already given you the city.

00:43:14.400 --> 00:43:16.400
And Joshua hasn't even lined up his army for a war.

00:43:17.400 --> 00:43:23.400
The idea of blowing these trumpets goes back all the way to Moses' time in the book of Leviticus

00:43:23.400 --> 00:43:25.400
where Joshua must have remembered so clearly.

00:43:25.400 --> 00:43:27.400
When Leviticus 25,

00:43:27.400 --> 00:43:30.400
Joshua was there when God told Moses,

00:43:30.400 --> 00:43:33.400
I want you to blow these trumpets and every time you blow these trumpets, I will listen.

00:43:33.400 --> 00:43:37.400
And every time you blow these trumpets, I will bring liberty to the land.

00:43:41.400 --> 00:43:44.400
Jericho was also where a school of prophets was established.

00:43:45.400 --> 00:43:47.400
Elisha used to go there often.

00:43:47.400 --> 00:43:49.400
That is where Elisha had the...

00:43:51.400 --> 00:43:57.400
took a bowl of salt and sprinkled it at the stream and the stream became free of toxicity.

00:43:57.400 --> 00:43:59.400
That was at Jericho.

00:43:59.400 --> 00:44:04.400
Jericho is a place where God begins to teach people how to see what he is going to do.

00:44:04.400 --> 00:44:11.400
That's why it was important today to take 20 minutes off to practice what you had written.

00:44:12.400 --> 00:44:14.400
What's the point of going home and thinking about it?

00:44:14.400 --> 00:44:17.400
You're supposed to say things here so that we all benefit.

00:44:21.400 --> 00:44:22.400
Next one.

00:44:24.400 --> 00:44:25.400
Jericho, I'll...

00:44:25.400 --> 00:44:27.400
I got two more and then we are done.

00:44:27.400 --> 00:44:29.400
So we should be done by 1.15.

00:44:30.400 --> 00:44:31.400
Jericho.

00:44:33.400 --> 00:44:34.400
I love this.

00:44:34.400 --> 00:44:36.400
There's a new sound in Jericho, guys.

00:44:37.400 --> 00:44:42.400
That's why I find what was said today by many of you so, so totally God.

00:44:42.400 --> 00:44:44.400
There is something afoot, man.

00:44:45.400 --> 00:44:47.400
I know sometimes, Jacob, you say this so often.

00:44:47.400 --> 00:44:51.400
Yeah, but what do you do when something is afoot and God says,

00:44:51.400 --> 00:44:53.400
there's something afoot, there's something afoot, there's something afoot.

00:44:54.400 --> 00:44:55.400
And one day it breaks on you.

00:44:55.400 --> 00:44:58.400
Hey guys, if you think you've been waiting for long for God to do stuff,

00:44:58.400 --> 00:45:00.400
in the Old Testament they waited for 2,000 years.

00:45:02.400 --> 00:45:03.400
So be happy.

00:45:08.400 --> 00:45:09.400
Jericho, a new sound.

00:45:10.400 --> 00:45:12.400
When God talks about a new sound, it's two things.

00:45:12.400 --> 00:45:15.400
One, it's a convergence of two things.

00:45:15.400 --> 00:45:16.400
It's a convergence of two things.

00:45:16.400 --> 00:45:26.400
One, it is whatever heaven is saying, as in whatever God is saying.

00:45:27.400 --> 00:45:37.400
And two, it's the sound of His people responding to it.

00:45:37.400 --> 00:45:44.400
It's two things, eh?

00:45:45.400 --> 00:45:47.400
Whenever there's a new sound, it's two things.

00:45:47.400 --> 00:45:50.400
It's one, whatever God is saying in heaven, the sound of heaven,

00:45:50.400 --> 00:45:54.400
this is what God is saying and you happen to hear it, like Isaiah did.

00:45:54.400 --> 00:45:57.400
Who shall I send? Who will go for us? Isaiah heard it.

00:45:57.400 --> 00:45:58.400
So that's what heaven speaks.

00:45:58.400 --> 00:46:04.400
The other is the sound that of the people of God who hear what God is saying and they respond.

00:46:04.400 --> 00:46:07.400
And that isn't one of our plus points.

00:46:09.400 --> 00:46:11.400
We don't respond vocally.

00:46:13.400 --> 00:46:16.400
Perhaps it's happening in your heart and your British, but it ain't showing.

00:46:17.400 --> 00:46:19.400
Yeah? But we have to.

00:46:20.400 --> 00:46:24.400
I mean when you read 1 Samuel chapter 4, 1 Samuel chapter 4,

00:46:25.400 --> 00:46:29.400
1 Samuel chapter 4, verse 5 to 7.

00:46:29.400 --> 00:46:30.400
Verse 5 to 7.

00:46:35.400 --> 00:46:38.400
1 Samuel chapter 4, verse 5.

00:46:59.400 --> 00:47:04.400
Guys, there is something called a response that frightens the enemy.

00:47:05.400 --> 00:47:07.400
It doesn't have to be shouting.

00:47:07.400 --> 00:47:09.400
I can get you all to shout right now.

00:47:09.400 --> 00:47:12.400
And if I try really hard, perhaps we can get somewhere

00:47:12.400 --> 00:47:14.400
and the next door neighbor will think something is wrong.

00:47:14.400 --> 00:47:18.400
But that's about all we can do with shout.

00:47:18.400 --> 00:47:19.400
We're not talking about shout.

00:47:19.400 --> 00:47:22.400
We're talking about such an enthusiasm or a stirring that builds up in our heart

00:47:22.400 --> 00:47:24.400
that it is impossible to hide it.

00:47:24.400 --> 00:47:26.400
It doesn't have to be in a shout.

00:47:26.400 --> 00:47:29.400
But you don't go away saying, good message.

00:47:29.400 --> 00:47:30.400
Well done, Jacob.

00:47:30.400 --> 00:47:33.400
No. It is like, oh my God, something has to happen this week.

00:47:33.400 --> 00:47:36.400
And that is ruining to the enemy.

00:47:36.400 --> 00:47:40.400
What happened in 1 Samuel 4 was these guys see the ark come back

00:47:40.400 --> 00:47:43.400
and they raise a shout because they know the presence of God.

00:47:43.400 --> 00:47:47.400
Sometimes during the teaching, guys, you know the presence of God.

00:47:47.400 --> 00:47:49.400
Sometimes during the teaching, I know the presence of God.

00:47:49.400 --> 00:47:51.400
I'm listening to my own voice.

00:47:51.400 --> 00:47:54.400
And when that happens, something stirs within it.

00:47:54.400 --> 00:47:59.400
And when that stirring happens, please let a couple of muscles move.

00:47:59.400 --> 00:48:02.400
It's completely okay.

00:48:05.400 --> 00:48:07.400
Because you go away stirred.

00:48:10.400 --> 00:48:13.400
And then let that do something for you during the week.

00:48:14.400 --> 00:48:17.400
And then let that do something for you during the week.

00:48:23.400 --> 00:48:25.400
It's really important to speak things out.

00:48:25.400 --> 00:48:30.400
Yeah. See, really, we're not into shouting pointlessly.

00:48:30.400 --> 00:48:32.400
We can do that.

00:48:32.400 --> 00:48:37.400
We can cultivate a culture where everybody says hallelujah or amen or preach it, brother.

00:48:37.400 --> 00:48:42.400
And then it becomes just a habit.

00:48:42.400 --> 00:48:43.400
There's nothing to it.

00:48:43.400 --> 00:48:45.400
I'm talking about something stirring inside.

00:48:45.400 --> 00:48:47.400
Something that happens internally.

00:48:47.400 --> 00:48:50.400
Whatever happens internally, we'll express it externally

00:48:50.400 --> 00:48:53.400
through our different cultures, backgrounds and personalities.

00:48:53.400 --> 00:48:55.400
That is what we're looking for.

00:49:01.400 --> 00:49:03.400
The glory of God has a sound.

00:49:04.400 --> 00:49:07.400
Hey, the glory of God has a sound.

00:49:07.400 --> 00:49:09.400
The glory of God has a sound.

00:49:09.400 --> 00:49:13.400
When you read Ezekiel 43, 2, the glory of God has a sound.

00:49:13.400 --> 00:49:16.400
What do you think was happening in Acts chapter 2?

00:49:16.400 --> 00:49:19.400
The glory of God carries a sound.

00:49:19.400 --> 00:49:25.400
If you want to bang the door harder to let us know you're leaving, let us know, Diva.

00:49:25.400 --> 00:49:28.400
Ezekiel 43, 2.

00:49:28.400 --> 00:49:32.400
I think he wants to let me know that I'm past 110.

00:49:34.400 --> 00:49:37.400
Ezekiel 43, 2.

00:49:37.400 --> 00:49:40.400
And behold, the glory of God,

00:49:40.400 --> 00:49:43.400
behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the east

00:49:43.400 --> 00:49:46.400
and the sound of his coming was the sound of many waters

00:49:46.400 --> 00:49:48.400
and the earth shone with his glory.

00:49:48.400 --> 00:49:52.400
Every time God's glory comes through a city, a place, a people,

00:49:52.400 --> 00:49:55.400
or even in a service, it carries a sound.

00:49:55.400 --> 00:49:58.400
I'm not saying you need to hear the sound of a mighty rushing wind,

00:49:58.400 --> 00:50:01.400
but I'm saying you need to know that something is stirring within

00:50:01.400 --> 00:50:03.400
and you can capture it.

00:50:03.400 --> 00:50:06.400
You can capture it during worship, you can capture it during a preaching,

00:50:06.400 --> 00:50:08.400
you can capture it sitting there doing nothing

00:50:08.400 --> 00:50:12.400
because you suddenly realize, oh shucks, God is here.

00:50:18.400 --> 00:50:21.400
God ties victory to new sounds.

00:50:21.400 --> 00:50:25.400
Be it in Jericho, be it the sound of the wind in the trees when David won a battle,

00:50:25.400 --> 00:50:28.400
be it the sound of rain when Elijah heard it and said,

00:50:28.400 --> 00:50:31.400
I hear the sound of the abundance of rain. Really?

00:50:31.400 --> 00:50:34.400
Or whether it be the sound of the rushing wind.

00:50:34.400 --> 00:50:40.400
And with a new sound comes new anointings, fresh strength, new strategies.

00:50:42.400 --> 00:50:45.400
Let me explain this because it's worth explaining it.

00:50:47.400 --> 00:50:51.400
New anointings, new fresh strength, new strategies.

00:50:52.400 --> 00:50:55.400
Let me give you an example.

00:50:56.400 --> 00:50:59.400
Bitcoin was a new sound.

00:50:59.400 --> 00:51:01.400
Forget what happened over the last one month.

00:51:01.400 --> 00:51:04.400
Bitcoin was a new sound.

00:51:04.400 --> 00:51:07.400
You heard the sound of Bitcoin thousands upon thousands

00:51:07.400 --> 00:51:10.400
from people right at the top to people right at the bottom.

00:51:10.400 --> 00:51:12.400
We got to respond to it.

00:51:12.400 --> 00:51:15.400
Trillions and trillions of dollars shifted.

00:51:15.400 --> 00:51:17.400
It was a new sound.

00:51:17.400 --> 00:51:20.400
It wasn't the sound of wealth really.

00:51:20.400 --> 00:51:24.400
It was the sound of the whole monetary system being decentralized.

00:51:24.400 --> 00:51:26.400
That was the sound.

00:51:26.400 --> 00:51:27.400
You must get it right.

00:51:27.400 --> 00:51:31.400
It is very easy to hear a sound and think this is the sound we're hearing.

00:51:31.400 --> 00:51:32.400
It wasn't.

00:51:32.400 --> 00:51:35.400
It wasn't about people making money.

00:51:35.400 --> 00:51:40.400
It was finally a whole host of young people thinking that there is the possibility

00:51:40.400 --> 00:51:45.400
that the entire monetary system can be set free from centralized banks.

00:51:45.400 --> 00:51:51.400
And that caused a surge where a sound was heard and people started causing Bitcoin to rocket.

00:51:52.400 --> 00:51:56.400
If that can happen in the world and nation after nation after nation can catch it on,

00:51:56.400 --> 00:52:02.400
so much so that San Salvador has declared crypto as regular currency.

00:52:02.400 --> 00:52:07.400
They've got a beach called Bitcoin Beach where you can't buy anything without Bitcoin.

00:52:07.400 --> 00:52:12.400
The point is this, that when the world hears a sound, they're quick to respond.

00:52:12.400 --> 00:52:14.400
They get it.

00:52:14.400 --> 00:52:16.400
They know that with the sound will come a new strategy.

00:52:16.400 --> 00:52:19.400
There'll be fresh ways of doing things.

00:52:19.400 --> 00:52:21.400
But then there is a church.

00:52:21.400 --> 00:52:27.400
We hear a sound and if it doesn't happen by the end of the service, it ain't worth pursuing.

00:52:29.400 --> 00:52:34.400
When you hear a sound, buy into saying, Oh God, I know this is what you're saying.

00:52:34.400 --> 00:52:36.400
And my heart begins to leap in anticipation.

00:52:36.400 --> 00:52:41.400
Let John the Baptist within your womb begin to jump because you heard Mary come.

00:52:44.400 --> 00:52:47.400
And when that happens, you now know it will happen.

00:52:47.400 --> 00:52:48.400
It will happen.

00:52:48.400 --> 00:52:51.400
It doesn't matter that I have to climb up Mount Carmel seven times.

00:52:51.400 --> 00:52:53.400
I can hear the abundance of rain.

00:52:55.400 --> 00:52:57.400
It's only a matter of time.

00:53:02.400 --> 00:53:04.400
Last point.

00:53:04.400 --> 00:53:08.400
And guys, when we hear new sounds, don't try to fit it into the old.

00:53:08.400 --> 00:53:13.400
One of the things we do is we take the old, we hear a new thing and we say,

00:53:13.400 --> 00:53:15.400
How does this fit in the old?

00:53:15.400 --> 00:53:17.400
It doesn't.

00:53:18.400 --> 00:53:19.400
It doesn't.

00:53:19.400 --> 00:53:22.400
Because if you try to fit new things that God is doing in the old,

00:53:22.400 --> 00:53:25.400
all you create is Frankenstein's monster.

00:53:26.400 --> 00:53:30.400
Made up of a few new parts and a few old car parts.

00:53:30.400 --> 00:53:35.400
You go to Wayne's garage, which he will soon be shutting down and you will see it.

00:53:36.400 --> 00:53:38.400
Old parts, new parts.

00:53:39.400 --> 00:53:42.400
Put them together and you get a monster.

00:53:42.400 --> 00:53:48.400
Sometimes when there are new sounds, you have to abandon the old to hold on to the new sound.

00:53:51.400 --> 00:53:57.400
He can't squeeze what was said today into his old way of functioning.

00:53:57.400 --> 00:53:58.400
He cannot.

00:54:08.400 --> 00:54:09.400
Last one.

00:54:09.400 --> 00:54:13.400
Jericho, and this applies to so many here and to me.

00:54:13.400 --> 00:54:15.400
And I pray, God, that we get the hang of it.

00:54:15.400 --> 00:54:17.400
We'll talk about it more later.

00:54:17.400 --> 00:54:21.400
Jericho is a place where you have to learn to keep what you have won.

00:54:21.400 --> 00:54:24.400
Keep what you have won.

00:54:25.400 --> 00:54:29.400
Jericho is a place where you have to learn how to keep what you have won.

00:54:30.400 --> 00:54:38.400
Strange thing is, they win that battle in Jericho and they lose almost everything in AI one chapter later.

00:54:39.400 --> 00:54:42.400
Joshua 6, great victory at Jericho.

00:54:42.400 --> 00:54:45.400
Joshua 7 verse 1, a loss at AI.

00:54:46.400 --> 00:54:49.400
Why? Because a man stole a few Babylonian garments.

00:54:50.400 --> 00:54:53.400
They get beaten again and again and again.

00:54:53.400 --> 00:55:05.400
The same army that could have the sun stand still, could bring down walls that were thick and large, now are being taken captive at AI.

00:55:05.400 --> 00:55:15.400
So one of the things we have to learn is there is one battle to get free, one battle to get free, another to stay free.

00:55:16.400 --> 00:55:23.400
One battle to get free, but it's another to stay free.

00:55:28.400 --> 00:55:31.400
Isn't this so typical of our lives, eh?

00:55:32.400 --> 00:55:35.400
We get free, but we don't know how to stay free.

00:55:46.400 --> 00:55:50.400
God wants to say to you, I like calling you the woman of understanding.

00:55:50.400 --> 00:55:54.400
That's what he sometimes refers to you as, a woman of understanding.

00:55:55.400 --> 00:56:01.400
What I'll do over the next three or four months is turn that understanding into practical steps so that others benefit.

00:56:02.400 --> 00:56:05.400
Most of your understanding has remained with you.

00:56:05.400 --> 00:56:08.400
You love it. You know how to spend time with me.

00:56:08.400 --> 00:56:15.400
You know how to have times where I can be father and daughter with you.

00:56:15.400 --> 00:56:20.400
But it hasn't translated to the extent it can to others around you.

00:56:20.400 --> 00:56:25.400
I'm going to take what happened to Esther and make it happen to you.

00:56:25.400 --> 00:56:31.400
Over the next three or four months, all that you've gained in your wisdom and your understanding,

00:56:31.400 --> 00:56:39.400
I'll show you practical ways to put them into one or two projects that will begin to affect people around you and then will have a ripple effect.

00:56:39.400 --> 00:56:45.400
By then, Alex will be so on at some of the stuff you'll do together.

00:56:46.400 --> 00:56:53.400
Go through the book of Esther, the first three or four chapters, where it gets to the point where she's now crowned queen.

00:56:53.400 --> 00:57:01.400
Know that it's the time of preparation, but in three or four months, you'll have an understanding of one or two projects that you're supposed to do that will begin to affect people around you.

00:57:01.400 --> 00:57:03.400
And you'll write a book.

00:57:03.400 --> 00:57:07.400
So begin to think along the lines of, what do I do with these projects?

00:57:07.400 --> 00:57:09.400
What are the steps that I take?

00:57:09.400 --> 00:57:14.400
Keep a scrapbook so you can write down the lines of how you got to the project becoming what it is.

00:57:14.400 --> 00:57:18.400
And then the second book will be about how the project scaled.

00:57:18.400 --> 00:57:21.400
So you guys will have jobs, eh?

00:57:21.400 --> 00:57:23.400
So you don't have to worry.

00:57:23.400 --> 00:57:24.400
Don't worry about studies or anything.

00:57:24.400 --> 00:57:26.400
Your parents will employ you from here on.

00:57:26.400 --> 00:57:27.400
I'm kidding.

00:57:27.400 --> 00:57:29.400
That part was not prophetic.

00:57:29.400 --> 00:57:30.400
Yeah.

00:57:30.400 --> 00:57:31.400
Stop it.

00:57:31.400 --> 00:57:33.400
You write a second book.

00:57:33.400 --> 00:57:34.400
Yeah.

00:57:34.400 --> 00:57:35.400
So yeah.

00:57:35.400 --> 00:57:37.400
Just thought I'd let you know.

00:57:37.400 --> 00:57:41.400
He calls you a woman of understanding, which is such a cool thing to be called, man.

00:57:41.400 --> 00:57:44.400
He usually doesn't refer to me like that.

00:57:44.400 --> 00:57:46.400
Yeah.

00:57:48.400 --> 00:57:49.400
Yeah, he doesn't.

00:57:49.400 --> 00:57:51.400
One man.

00:57:51.400 --> 00:57:54.400
One battle to get free, another to stay free.

00:57:54.400 --> 00:57:57.400
One to take ground.

00:57:57.400 --> 00:58:01.400
One to take ground.

00:58:01.400 --> 00:58:03.400
One to take ground.

00:58:03.400 --> 00:58:04.400
One to hold ground.

00:58:04.400 --> 00:58:05.400
One to hold ground.

00:58:05.400 --> 00:58:09.400
This is what we'll be talking about next time whenever I'm here, because next week I'm in

00:58:09.400 --> 00:58:12.400
New York as far as I know.

00:58:12.400 --> 00:58:13.400
One battle is to get free.

00:58:13.400 --> 00:58:14.400
Another is to stay free.

00:58:14.400 --> 00:58:15.400
One is to take ground.

00:58:15.400 --> 00:58:17.400
One is to hold ground.

00:58:17.400 --> 00:58:19.400
This is a dilemma for us.

00:58:19.400 --> 00:58:22.400
How do we take ground and hold it?

00:58:22.400 --> 00:58:24.400
How do we get free?

00:58:24.400 --> 00:58:25.400
How do we stay free?

00:58:25.400 --> 00:58:27.400
In all areas of our lives.

00:58:27.400 --> 00:58:28.400
I'm not talking about sin.

00:58:28.400 --> 00:58:29.400
I'm talking about mental makeup.

00:58:29.400 --> 00:58:30.400
I'm talking about persistence.

00:58:30.400 --> 00:58:31.400
I'm talking about endurance.

00:58:31.400 --> 00:58:33.400
How does this work?

00:58:33.400 --> 00:58:37.400
Because what is one in Jericho can be lost in AI in a chapter.

00:58:39.400 --> 00:58:41.400
That's what we'll talk about next week.

00:58:41.400 --> 00:58:43.400
So we won't go to Jordan yet.

00:58:43.400 --> 00:58:44.400
We'll deal with this.

00:58:44.400 --> 00:58:51.400
So one of the things you can do to prepare is to write down areas, write down areas,

00:58:51.400 --> 00:59:06.400
write down the areas where the enemy is making gains on ground taken.

00:59:10.400 --> 00:59:11.400
Not too many.

00:59:11.400 --> 00:59:12.400
Just take three.

00:59:12.400 --> 00:59:14.400
There must be 20, but take three.

00:59:15.400 --> 00:59:16.400
I find this very difficult.

00:59:16.400 --> 00:59:23.400
I've been set free in a way of thinking or in a habit or in a way of life.

00:59:23.400 --> 00:59:27.400
I'm thrilled and I praise God and I know the power of the Spirit of God set me free.

00:59:27.400 --> 00:59:29.400
Bonds have been broken.

00:59:29.400 --> 00:59:34.400
And then I don't know how to stay free because it keeps coming back.

00:59:34.400 --> 00:59:37.400
Thought patterns, ways, fears.

00:59:37.400 --> 00:59:39.400
Same with ground taken.

00:59:39.400 --> 00:59:43.400
How do I hold on to the ground that I have taken?

00:59:45.400 --> 00:59:49.400
I'm assuming you also do have this problem occasionally.

00:59:50.400 --> 00:59:52.400
Confessions are a bad idea in this church.

00:59:52.400 --> 00:59:56.400
You look at me with masks on as if I'm the only one suffering this.

00:59:56.400 --> 00:59:57.400
Yeah.

00:59:57.400 --> 00:59:58.400
Okay.

00:59:58.400 --> 00:59:59.400
Let's pray.

01:00:00.400 --> 01:00:07.400
Hey Jane, since it's not 1.30 yet, do you want to do a Razor Hallelujah?

01:00:07.400 --> 01:00:08.400
Okay.

01:00:10.400 --> 01:00:12.400
All the more reason to Razor Hallelujah.

01:00:13.400 --> 01:00:14.400
Just try.

01:00:14.400 --> 01:00:15.400
We'll sing with you.

01:00:16.400 --> 01:00:21.400
Once the song is done, and sing it just once through because that's an endless song.

01:00:21.400 --> 01:00:25.400
So just sing it once through and then we can leave.

01:00:25.400 --> 01:00:30.400
And guys, if you have any questions or anything you want to add to what I said, feel free to come and ask me later.
