00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:22.840
Okay, guys, so when the Sunday school kids come in after, at some point, it's Danny's

00:00:22.840 --> 00:00:29.560
birthday so we got to make sure we sing for him, yeah? So just remind me if I forget. And

00:00:29.560 --> 00:00:36.160
it was Yaya's birthday last week, but Danny's birthday is today, so we'll sing for him.

00:00:36.160 --> 00:00:51.160
The topic today, strangely, is no condemnation. And that comes from Romans 8.1, which says,

00:00:51.160 --> 00:00:55.920
Therefore now there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. That's what

00:00:55.920 --> 00:01:02.920
it says. But before we even look at Romans 8.1, let's look at how we can define condemnation.

00:01:02.920 --> 00:01:25.840
So here's how we can define it. It is the permanent or conditional act of judging you.

00:01:25.840 --> 00:01:54.800
Guilty, unfit for use, doomed to penalty, or anger. And it results in shame and loss.

00:01:54.800 --> 00:02:09.320
And can only be repaired by and requires self abasement, as in humbling yourself to a point

00:02:09.320 --> 00:02:22.440
of almost humiliation, self abasement before you can be absolved for what you've done.

00:02:22.440 --> 00:02:30.680
Yeah? So let's just look at that. It's either the permanent, as in it won't change. Condemnation

00:02:30.680 --> 00:02:36.760
can be, in the Old Testament, it was this way that people felt. In the New Testament,

00:02:37.200 --> 00:02:43.520
strangely enough, we still feel this way. That's why we need to talk about it. So the permanent

00:02:43.520 --> 00:02:49.520
or conditional act, as in it's either a permanent thing where you feel condemned and you never

00:02:49.520 --> 00:02:54.560
come out of it, or it's conditional, as in you feel condemned but if you do this, this,

00:02:54.560 --> 00:03:01.360
and this, it'll be removed. And so it's either the permanent or the conditional, it's not

00:03:01.360 --> 00:03:11.920
conditional, conditional act of being judged, being judged as guilty, being judged as unfit

00:03:11.920 --> 00:03:18.360
for use, being judged as in there are penalties you'll have to pay, or being judged as in

00:03:18.360 --> 00:03:29.240
there's anger against you. And it results in quite a lot of shame, it results in loss.

00:03:29.240 --> 00:03:33.880
And how do you repair it? Repairing requires self-abasement where you've got to grovel

00:03:33.880 --> 00:03:39.560
or you've got to do something that you may or may not understand, may or may not like,

00:03:39.560 --> 00:03:46.440
may or may not own up to. It requires self-abasement before you can be absolved of that guilt.

00:03:46.440 --> 00:03:55.920
That's the weight of condemnation. And everybody suffers through it. It was supposed to be

00:03:55.920 --> 00:04:02.040
an Old Testament thing and sacrifices were meant to remove the sense of guilt. We've

00:04:02.040 --> 00:04:12.920
had the ultimate sacrifice given for us but we labor under this. This is why it's so hard

00:04:12.920 --> 00:04:17.880
to come to God like that. You've got to do the song and the dance before you come to

00:04:17.880 --> 00:04:24.480
God. It's almost like, I mean I used to confess my sins and triplicate because I thought you've

00:04:24.480 --> 00:04:28.480
got to talk to the Father, then the Son, then the Holy Spirit. Some days my sins would take

00:04:28.480 --> 00:04:35.580
like three hours, man, by the time you get through the triumvirate of Godhead. And so,

00:04:35.580 --> 00:04:39.320
this was very long ago by the way, I stopped that some time ago, yeah, just in case you

00:04:39.320 --> 00:04:45.260
think that's how I spend my time. So this is what condemnation looks like and the weight

00:04:45.260 --> 00:04:52.880
is heavy. Because I don't know if there's a day in our lives when we don't feel a sense

00:04:53.040 --> 00:04:59.000
of, can't approach God freely like a child approaches his parent because there's this

00:04:59.000 --> 00:05:02.080
sense that, but I messed up here, I messed up here, I did that knowingly, I did that

00:05:02.080 --> 00:05:08.480
unknowingly, I haven't changed in this area, I know I'm going to mess up again in this

00:05:08.480 --> 00:05:13.480
area. So there's this constant struggle which makes it so hard to approach God, which makes

00:05:13.480 --> 00:05:17.760
it so hard to do anything for God because you don't know if he'll back you up, which

00:05:17.760 --> 00:05:21.680
makes it so hard to even ask him for things because what if he's sovereign and he's got

00:05:21.680 --> 00:05:27.320
some problem with some of the stuff I've done. It's strange how we labor under it

00:05:27.320 --> 00:05:33.040
and the more we labor under it, the more traditional and legalistic we get. And the more charismatic

00:05:33.040 --> 00:05:40.040
you are, the more disguised those traditions are. At least if you were non-charismatic,

00:05:40.120 --> 00:05:45.760
the traditions are laid out, do this, do this, do this and you will get this. With charismatics,

00:05:45.760 --> 00:05:49.920
you never know, should I jump a little higher, clap a little louder, read a little more,

00:05:50.160 --> 00:06:01.160
sing more songs, you never know. As usual, when I'm preaching, I always think that this

00:06:01.880 --> 00:06:06.640
is the problem that only I have because your faces don't reveal anything. Yeah? You guys

00:06:06.640 --> 00:06:13.640
should play poker, we could make a lot of money as a church. So we labor under conventional

00:06:19.920 --> 00:06:26.920
condemnation, we labor under condemnation from when we are young, from when we are young.

00:06:30.600 --> 00:06:37.600
And so it's become a habit because here's what I remember, if you misbehaved, Daniel's

00:06:38.520 --> 00:06:44.880
lion would not have its mouth shut and the whale would not puke you out. And there would

00:06:44.880 --> 00:06:51.880
be no fourth man in the fire and you would burn like crazy with your two other friends.

00:06:52.080 --> 00:06:56.520
This was the way they kept you in line in Sunday school, stop it, Daniel's lion will

00:06:56.520 --> 00:07:01.520
eat you up and you immediately go quiet. Yeah? Imagine doing that to Judah, takes the fun

00:07:01.520 --> 00:07:08.520
out of the lion. Pardon? Yeah, rapture, that was the scariest thing man. I went with my

00:07:09.400 --> 00:07:14.920
folks to a super store one day and suddenly my parents disappeared and I'm going from

00:07:14.920 --> 00:07:21.920
aisle to aisle looking for them. And I'm even thinking, but I'm better than them. And then

00:07:23.360 --> 00:07:29.560
that made it worse because, oh you proud little brat, like your parents have disappeared and

00:07:29.560 --> 00:07:34.240
all you can think is you're better than them, why haven't you gone? And then I kept looking

00:07:34.440 --> 00:07:39.920
aisle after aisle and they weren't there man. And then I'm, strangely enough, I'd watched

00:07:39.920 --> 00:07:45.600
those three movies and in those movies you think all the clothes will be wrapped and

00:07:45.600 --> 00:07:51.280
kept there. So I'm looking for my mom's, I'm looking for my mom's sari and my dad's shirt.

00:07:51.280 --> 00:07:57.040
This is terrible, we were so scared. There was a sense that, oh my God, if you mess up,

00:07:57.040 --> 00:08:00.400
what's going to happen? And one of the questions that I would often get when I first started

00:08:00.400 --> 00:08:05.840
pastoring was, what if when Jesus comes, two minutes before that I have sinned and I didn't

00:08:05.840 --> 00:08:12.840
get time to confess it? It's usually not a Baptist question, it's a Pentecostal question.

00:08:13.840 --> 00:08:17.400
You get this question and then you have to tell them, don't worry, if you don't confess

00:08:17.400 --> 00:08:24.280
it, it's okay. No, no, but what if? This is how we labor under it. Now it sounds funny,

00:08:24.280 --> 00:08:31.280
but the strange thing is yesterday and day before you went through this. What is dust

00:08:31.280 --> 00:08:42.280
is it takes away your confidence to approach God as Father. And condemnation makes lousy

00:08:42.280 --> 00:08:47.440
soldiers, eh? If every soldier who's in war thinks, I think I did something wrong, the

00:08:48.040 --> 00:08:55.040
general may shoot me from behind. How are you going to fight, man? You wear Jehovah-Nissi.

00:08:55.040 --> 00:09:08.040
We can't live like that. Spiritual warriors have to be people that have no, they live

00:09:08.040 --> 00:09:16.040
under this banner called no condemnation. Otherwise, how will you fight? This is why

00:09:16.040 --> 00:09:23.040
we go through that routine of I need to pray and then I need to do some worship and then

00:09:24.240 --> 00:09:28.800
I need to speak in tongues and I need to say a few hallelujahs and finally approach God

00:09:28.800 --> 00:09:35.040
saying I'm only a worm. After all that, you still have to start with I'm only a worm.

00:09:35.040 --> 00:09:40.360
It's terrible. So we need to realize that this is a serious problem for all of us and

00:09:40.360 --> 00:09:47.360
we have to break out of it. So we labor with condemnation right from when we are young.

00:09:48.160 --> 00:09:55.160
So what happens is when anyone says anything, even if it is, even when the judge is right,

00:09:55.680 --> 00:10:00.080
as in they judge what you're doing and they find that it's not good, or when they correct

00:10:00.080 --> 00:10:07.080
me or when there's discipline involved or when there is the need to be forgiven, what

00:10:08.080 --> 00:10:15.080
happens then is we don't even know how to process anybody who judges us, corrects us,

00:10:15.080 --> 00:10:22.080
disciplines us because we immediately go into this thing called condemnation. It becomes

00:10:25.200 --> 00:10:30.160
very hard then to help Christians because the moment you say something, they feel condemned.

00:10:31.160 --> 00:10:38.160
You've lost. What if I judge you? What if I judge him and I say hey, but you did this

00:10:40.400 --> 00:10:46.520
and you're wrong. What if I judge him? If he goes into condemnation mode saying Jacob

00:10:46.520 --> 00:10:52.360
condemn me, but that's how you and I react too. As soon as we are judged, as soon as

00:10:52.360 --> 00:10:58.360
we are corrected, that's the mode we go into. Why? Because from when we've been young, there's

00:10:58.360 --> 00:11:01.440
a sense of condemnation that is continuously upon us.

00:11:01.440 --> 00:11:06.960
See, Satan's been thrown out from heaven, Revelation 12.10, that the accuser of the

00:11:06.960 --> 00:11:11.720
brothers who accuses him day and night has now been thrown out of heaven. So what does

00:11:11.720 --> 00:11:16.460
he do? He comes down to the earth and he begins to do the same thing. He used to accuse people

00:11:16.460 --> 00:11:23.460
in heaven. He accused Joshua, the high priest, in Zechariah 3. He says to God, look at this

00:11:24.460 --> 00:11:30.460
guy. Throw him out of here and God says give him a new turban, give him new clothes. His

00:11:30.460 --> 00:11:37.460
clothes are soiled. He is guilty, but God changes it. So accusation is the vehicle that's

00:11:40.820 --> 00:11:47.820
used for condemnation. But because I'm so used to condemnation, if you say anything negative

00:11:48.220 --> 00:11:54.300
about me, I immediately go into, I'm feeling condemned. And so there's just no way to judge

00:11:54.300 --> 00:12:01.300
you, to correct you, to help you because we go into, I feel condemned.

00:12:03.580 --> 00:12:10.580
Any questions before we go on? Do we really live, I've asked this about two years ago,

00:12:11.580 --> 00:12:18.580
do we really live as forgiven, restored people? When you started today, when you started yesterday,

00:12:24.740 --> 00:12:31.740
did you live as a forgiven, restored person? Some of you have mortgages, right? Some of

00:12:32.740 --> 00:12:39.740
you have loans, some of you have debts. What if American Express and Visa and MasterCard

00:12:42.020 --> 00:12:47.780
came to you or came to me and said, you know what, just forget all the debts, start from

00:12:47.780 --> 00:12:54.780
zero. What would happen to you? I guarantee you, you wouldn't be sitting like this. To

00:12:55.780 --> 00:13:02.780
begin with, you would buy all the T-shirts that are left. There'd be this relief of,

00:13:02.780 --> 00:13:09.780
oh my God, that's a mortgage off my back. Can you imagine the relief? That's what restored,

00:13:14.100 --> 00:13:18.940
forgiven people look like, but we don't know how to walk in that because we're constantly

00:13:18.940 --> 00:13:25.940
laboring under a God who has something that he has on us. Any questions? No? Okay, so

00:13:41.260 --> 00:13:48.260
condemnation is affected, condemnation is affected through accusation. So condemnation

00:13:48.940 --> 00:13:54.900
is affected. I'm not even talking about me accusing you. I'm talking about that little

00:13:54.900 --> 00:13:58.780
voice that comes and says, hey, you think God is going to give you this? Remember how

00:13:58.780 --> 00:14:04.620
you spoke to your wife? Remember how you by mistake said a word you shouldn't say? Remember

00:14:04.620 --> 00:14:11.620
how you stayed for 40 seconds or 40 minutes long around that TV show that you shouldn't

00:14:11.940 --> 00:14:18.940
have watched? Remember how you broke the law and kind of cheated the government on some

00:14:21.380 --> 00:14:27.740
form or some tax? Remember how you spoke untruths? Remember how many times you lied today? Remember

00:14:27.740 --> 00:14:32.180
how many times you've profited where you should not have profited? Remember how many times

00:14:32.180 --> 00:14:36.900
you were miserly, how stingy you were? Remember how many times nobody knew the thoughts in

00:14:36.900 --> 00:14:43.900
your mind but God saw it? And as this begins to gather, what confidence do we have before

00:14:46.140 --> 00:14:53.140
God, man? How do you approach a God like that? What about physical pain or sickness? What's

00:14:57.780 --> 00:15:03.220
the whisper? Haven't you prayed enough? Guess God ain't going to heal you because there

00:15:03.220 --> 00:15:10.220
is sin in your life. How about parenting? You see kids and you think to yourself, man,

00:15:12.620 --> 00:15:17.900
I really messed up and you have labored under that for years because your kid didn't turn

00:15:17.900 --> 00:15:23.220
out the way you dreamt of it or that you expected it to and you labor under it. And there's

00:15:23.220 --> 00:15:30.220
this continuous voice saying you messed up. This is what condemnation looks like. Unrelenting,

00:15:31.220 --> 00:15:38.220
eh? And what does it rob? It robs people from behaving like they just had their mortgage

00:15:39.940 --> 00:15:46.940
forgiven. A restored, forgiven people will have a different relationship with the Father

00:15:46.940 --> 00:15:53.940
or we struggle with this. Any questions, guys? It's affected through accusation. Revelation

00:15:55.300 --> 00:16:02.300
12.10, it says that Satan has no traction in heaven because he who used to accuse the

00:16:04.860 --> 00:16:11.860
brothers and the sisters of sin, he has no power over them. He has no power over the

00:16:16.940 --> 00:16:21.940
brothers continuously before God has been thrown out. You see his accusation in Job.

00:16:21.940 --> 00:16:27.260
You see his accusation in Job 1, verse 9 and 10. You see his accusation against Joshua,

00:16:27.260 --> 00:16:32.340
the high priest. And look at the guys he picks, eh? He's picking the... If he can pick on

00:16:32.340 --> 00:16:38.660
them and get them to warp, imagine what he can do with you and I. He picks Job, the most

00:16:38.660 --> 00:16:43.920
righteous man in the world. He picks Joshua. Joshua's the high priest. These are the kind

00:16:43.920 --> 00:16:50.920
of guys he picks. What chance do Vivek and I have? Oh, I should show you a video of Vivek

00:16:57.000 --> 00:17:04.000
and I. Remind me, eh? Vivek, remind me, eh? Yeah, so he smothers you with accusation on

00:17:04.000 --> 00:17:11.000
earth. And here's what condemnation does. Condemnation dulls the goodness of God. Condemnation

00:17:20.980 --> 00:17:27.980
dulls the goodness of God. It heightens self-focus. It centers on sin. It centers on the good

00:17:34.220 --> 00:17:41.220
side, not righteousness. It renders us fearful and it fuels speculation. Does God really

00:17:54.040 --> 00:17:59.520
like me? Will he back me up? These are some of the things condemnation does on a daily

00:17:59.520 --> 00:18:06.520
basis and most believers engage or most believers inflict themselves with condemnation or with

00:18:17.600 --> 00:18:24.600
labored, unsure prayer. We inflict ourselves with condemnation. We inflict ourselves with

00:18:29.520 --> 00:18:36.520
condemnation. Is it even possible tomorrow to walk the entire day without feeling condemned

00:18:38.540 --> 00:18:45.540
even if you sin? Is it possible tomorrow to walk without condemnation, not feeling any

00:18:51.440 --> 00:18:58.440
guilt even if you sin? Sounds contradictory. We'll talk about that. We'll talk about that.

00:19:00.240 --> 00:19:07.240
Because here's what God is saying. Therefore, Jacob, there is no condemnation for you because

00:19:11.400 --> 00:19:18.400
you are absolutely in Christ. I mean, don't allow a person to be in a place of condemnation

00:19:29.800 --> 00:19:36.400
and it's an emergency. Don't allow that person to have a moment to obsess and to ranging

00:19:36.400 --> 00:19:43.400
into such a bad place. He really wants to be done. He wants to be condemned. And I season

00:19:50.360 --> 00:19:57.160
out from the depths of my paso to come out there and Christ made a concern with me without

00:19:57.160 --> 00:20:04.160
This is how we live. At the end of the day, it sounds funny right now, but this is what we go through every day.

00:20:04.160 --> 00:20:21.160
I want to live tomorrow without feeling any condemnation, even though I know that I will not live a perfect life tomorrow, that I will mess up.

00:20:21.160 --> 00:20:30.160
This is how children live. This is why the kingdom is made up of children.

00:20:30.160 --> 00:20:43.160
So, a child was wrong. In the good old days, you'd get a spanking, you wore thick pants always, and that was the end of it.

00:20:43.160 --> 00:20:51.160
And then they ran around merrily after. It was not, oh, I feel condemned, my parents don't love me, I want to watch Home Alone again.

00:20:51.160 --> 00:20:57.160
Nothing like that. I'm sorry, this is not supposed to be funny, but it's going funny.

00:20:57.160 --> 00:21:03.160
But the point is this, at the end of the day, I should not be laboring like that.

00:21:03.160 --> 00:21:11.160
I should be like a joey or a juda or any child that can walk on two feet. Yeah?

00:21:11.160 --> 00:21:27.160
Romans 8.1.

00:21:27.160 --> 00:21:52.160
Therefore, there remains no accusing voice of condemnation against you

00:21:52.160 --> 00:22:02.160
if you have joined your life to Christ.

00:22:02.160 --> 00:22:09.160
If you haven't joined your life to Christ, yeah, this gift is not for you.

00:22:09.160 --> 00:22:18.160
So if you're not a believer, if you haven't submitted your life to Christ, you will be condemned.

00:22:18.160 --> 00:22:34.160
But there remains no accusing voice. Can you spend the day tomorrow not feeling accused by God?

00:22:34.160 --> 00:22:40.160
Even when your spouse turns to you and says, how can you do that?

00:22:40.160 --> 00:22:47.160
And we'll talk about how living under no condemnation makes you better, not worse.

00:22:47.160 --> 00:22:54.160
Therefore, there remains no accusing voice of condemnation against you if you have joined yourself or your life to Christ.

00:22:54.160 --> 00:22:58.160
That's what Romans 8.1 says.

00:22:58.160 --> 00:23:27.160
And then in Romans 8.33 it says, if God has declared you not guilty, who, why, I'm changing the words, why do you declare yourself guilty?

00:23:27.160 --> 00:23:31.160
We can't even compute this. We can't even think like this.

00:23:31.160 --> 00:23:42.160
Because guilt is such a part of our life that if God says, Josh, you're not guilty, Josh will immediately say, but I am not. I am.

00:23:42.160 --> 00:23:48.160
How sad is that?

00:23:48.160 --> 00:23:53.160
So this is on one side. On the other side is, what if Josh does something wrong?

00:23:53.160 --> 00:23:56.160
I go up to him and I say, hey, Josh, why are you doing this, man?

00:23:56.160 --> 00:24:02.160
And immediately if his mind goes to, oh, Jacob's condemning me, that's absurd.

00:24:02.160 --> 00:24:07.160
Because there are people that do that. The moment you say anything to that, I'm feeling condemned.

00:24:07.160 --> 00:24:10.160
The condemnation is not from the Lord. No, I'm not condemning you. I'm judging you.

00:24:10.160 --> 00:24:16.160
And after judging you, I want to correct you. And after correcting you, if you don't change, then may God discipline you.

00:24:16.160 --> 00:24:20.160
And then after he disciplines you and it's anger-free discipline, may he forgive you.

00:24:20.160 --> 00:24:26.160
And after he forgives you, may he restore you. That whole process has to work out.

00:24:26.160 --> 00:24:34.160
So people can take this and change it into something so ugly when it was supposed to be beautiful.

00:24:34.160 --> 00:24:44.160
You can't do that either because then you shut the entire world out.

00:24:45.160 --> 00:24:52.160
You know, when God says, if I have justified you, why entertain accusation?

00:24:52.160 --> 00:24:56.160
You should read verse 33. It then goes on to say, who says this?

00:24:56.160 --> 00:25:03.160
The God who died and rose again and now is sitting at the right hand of the Father interceding for you.

00:25:03.160 --> 00:25:10.160
You know, if I come to you and say something to you that judges you and corrects you,

00:25:10.160 --> 00:25:14.160
you've got to ask this question of anyone who does that to you, any of the leaders in this church.

00:25:14.160 --> 00:25:20.160
You've got to ask the question, when they come and correct us or when they come and instruct us or when they come and judge us,

00:25:20.160 --> 00:25:26.160
are they really interceding for us also? Do they have my best interest at heart?

00:25:26.160 --> 00:25:33.160
Do they go home and pray? Do they get up thinking, I wish this could change in the person's life?

00:25:33.160 --> 00:25:41.160
If your leader is like that, then stop feeling condemned and man up.

00:25:41.160 --> 00:25:48.160
But if you think your leader is out to get you, out to chop your legs out, doesn't care for you, is cursing you once they get home,

00:25:48.160 --> 00:25:52.160
then leave the church.

00:25:52.160 --> 00:26:01.160
Don't, but leave the church.

00:26:01.160 --> 00:26:06.160
So that's, because every message can be spun any which way you want.

00:26:06.160 --> 00:26:12.160
I don't want that to happen.

00:26:12.160 --> 00:26:18.160
If God has declared, man, I watched Chosen, season five, and I scratched my head thinking,

00:26:18.160 --> 00:26:27.160
how in the world does Jesus go up with a whip in his hand and go up to guys who are like big time bishops and stuff like that?

00:26:27.160 --> 00:26:37.160
And you should hear him say the things he says to them. He calls them brood of vipers, serpents, you whitewashed tombs.

00:26:37.160 --> 00:26:46.160
And I'm thinking to myself, we are here compared to that, man. We're very nice people.

00:26:46.160 --> 00:26:52.160
That was just a side observation.

00:26:52.160 --> 00:27:05.160
Imagine going up to someone and calling them brood of vipers, whitewashed tombs, beautiful on the outside, bones on the inside.

00:27:05.160 --> 00:27:14.160
He must have been something else, man. And where is he doing it? In the most public place in the universe, Jerusalem at the temple.

00:27:14.160 --> 00:27:20.160
When? When there are thousands of pilgrims around. Why? Because it's Passover.

00:27:20.160 --> 00:27:38.160
Where does this man get his boldness from?

00:27:38.160 --> 00:27:46.160
If God has justified you and declared you not guilty, why do I bring myself again into this place of guilt?

00:27:46.160 --> 00:28:03.160
Here's what no condemnation allows you to do. No condemnation allows you to forget what you did.

00:28:03.160 --> 00:28:13.160
You know, one of my cousins came here to visit me from Toronto. My mother's, brother's, daughter's.

00:28:13.160 --> 00:28:18.160
I borrowed a phone from someone, one of those fancy, this was before Apple existed.

00:28:18.160 --> 00:28:23.160
It was one of those fancy phones that goes like this and like this and stuff like that, like these old Samsung phones that Don has.

00:28:23.160 --> 00:28:29.160
So it was one of those phones, but really amazing phone. Like it was so much better than my phone.

00:28:29.160 --> 00:28:34.160
And so I borrowed it from a friend and they took it with them to Victoria.

00:28:34.160 --> 00:28:40.160
And they went to Victoria and they were coming back from Victoria and they haven't turned up.

00:28:40.160 --> 00:28:46.160
It's two hours later, still haven't turned up. You know why? Because she lost the phone.

00:28:46.160 --> 00:28:55.160
And she was so scared of what will happen when she comes back and has to tell me that she lost the phone.

00:28:55.160 --> 00:29:01.160
And then somehow she got on the ferry, got on the bus, came back here and told me she lost the phone.

00:29:01.160 --> 00:29:07.160
And I said, oh, too bad. That's okay. And then she didn't know what to do.

00:29:07.160 --> 00:29:13.160
She was expecting anger. She was expecting condemnation. She was expecting that she'll have to pay a price.

00:29:13.160 --> 00:29:21.160
Do you know how freeing it is to come to someone who you know will not condemn, who will not be angry and who will not expect you to pay a price?

00:29:21.160 --> 00:29:28.160
Is that your God? Is that your spouse? Is that your best friend?

00:29:31.160 --> 00:29:35.160
Is that your pastor? Let's throw him in also.

00:29:37.160 --> 00:29:49.160
A friend of mine once told a story here in Sunday school class. There was an inventor. He had four sons.

00:29:49.160 --> 00:29:59.160
And the four kids once go into the storeroom and they start playing. And their dad had told them, do not go into the storeroom.

00:29:59.160 --> 00:30:04.160
I got stuff that I've invented. Don't go into the storeroom. But they go into the storeroom, they play.

00:30:04.160 --> 00:30:10.160
And when they're playing, there's a big can of paint and they topple the can.

00:30:10.160 --> 00:30:14.160
And the paint just splatters all over the wall, on the carpet everywhere.

00:30:14.160 --> 00:30:23.160
Four kids know that they're in deep trouble. One kid runs to his bed, pulls the blanket over his head,

00:30:23.160 --> 00:30:27.160
and thinks that if he stays under the blanket, everything will be okay.

00:30:28.160 --> 00:30:35.160
The second kid goes to his room and is facing the carpet saying, I'm worthless. I'm disobedient. I'm terrible.

00:30:35.160 --> 00:30:41.160
Dad said, don't do this. I kept doing it. I'm a worm. And he keeps doing this.

00:30:41.160 --> 00:30:49.160
The third kid decides, it's not my fault. I wasn't the first one who went into that room. It was the two others.

00:30:49.160 --> 00:30:53.160
I've got to go tell dad that it's them. It's not me.

00:30:53.160 --> 00:31:01.160
And the fourth kid gingerly walks into dad's study. And he goes and tugs at his dad's shirt and says,

00:31:01.160 --> 00:31:06.160
I did something wrong. I went into the storeroom. You told me not to go there.

00:31:06.160 --> 00:31:16.160
And I was playing with my brothers and we tilted a can of paint and it's all over the place. I'm really sorry.

00:31:16.160 --> 00:31:22.160
And the dad picks up the boy, puts him on his knee, and he says, you know I'm an inventor, right?

00:31:22.160 --> 00:31:25.160
He says, yeah. He says, you know my greatest invention?

00:31:25.160 --> 00:31:33.160
The kid says, no. He says, I'm the one who invented paint remover. That's what I'm famous for.

00:31:33.160 --> 00:31:38.160
And so they go and they pick this small can full of paint remover.

00:31:38.160 --> 00:31:42.160
And he takes this kid and then he goes and there's one kid under the blanket he calls him to.

00:31:42.160 --> 00:31:46.160
Then there's another kid that's facing the floor blaming him so he calls him to.

00:31:46.160 --> 00:31:50.160
Then the third kid who's blaming everything including Adam and Eve, he calls him to.

00:31:50.160 --> 00:31:56.160
And they all go. They all go into this room where there's paint splattered all over.

00:31:56.160 --> 00:32:00.160
And he takes this little can and he throws it over anything that has paint on it.

00:32:00.160 --> 00:32:04.160
And they watch as it instantly disappears.

00:32:04.160 --> 00:32:08.160
And I heard this story the first time. I thought to myself, man I've been all those kids.

00:32:08.160 --> 00:32:13.160
But I've been the three kids more than the one kid.

00:32:13.160 --> 00:32:16.160
We've got to stop this nonsense.

00:32:16.160 --> 00:32:22.160
This is not how restored, forgiven people live.

00:32:22.160 --> 00:32:26.160
Did the kid feel bad? Yes. Did he go up to his dad? Yes.

00:32:26.160 --> 00:32:28.160
Did he say he was sorry? Yes.

00:32:28.160 --> 00:32:45.160
But that kid had somehow caught on that I will not walk under this cloud of condemnation.

00:32:45.160 --> 00:32:49.160
No condemnation. You forget what you did.

00:32:49.160 --> 00:32:56.160
How short is your memory? Because Jesus' memory is super short.

00:32:56.160 --> 00:33:01.160
Jesus' memory is super short.

00:33:01.160 --> 00:33:12.160
As far as the east is from the west, that's how far I have removed your transgressions from you.

00:33:12.160 --> 00:33:17.160
He's got a super short memory.

00:33:17.160 --> 00:33:30.160
Go ahead.

00:33:30.160 --> 00:33:34.160
Stop it, Sheldon. Just look at my face. Can't you see the condemnation on it?

00:33:34.160 --> 00:33:36.160
Can't you hear my tone?

00:33:36.160 --> 00:33:39.160
You don't need to come and ask that question in the middle of a service.

00:33:39.160 --> 00:33:43.160
That's it, man. Don't sit up front. Sit somewhere in the back.

00:33:43.160 --> 00:33:46.160
This is what happens to our kids sometimes.

00:33:46.160 --> 00:33:49.160
It's just this moment of irritation and annoyance.

00:33:49.160 --> 00:33:51.160
We've got a hundred other things happening.

00:33:51.160 --> 00:33:54.160
Sometimes it's your voice. Sometimes it's a facial expression.

00:33:54.160 --> 00:33:56.160
Sometimes it's actual action.

00:33:56.160 --> 00:34:00.160
And our kids get so used to it.

00:34:00.160 --> 00:34:03.160
They meet it everywhere.

00:34:03.160 --> 00:34:05.160
They see it at school. They see it with their friends.

00:34:05.160 --> 00:34:08.160
They see it in the playground. And they see it at home.

00:34:08.160 --> 00:34:12.160
It is so hard for us not to be like this, guys.

00:34:12.160 --> 00:34:18.160
Is it possible for you as parents to be able to deal with your child without condemning the child?

00:34:18.160 --> 00:34:28.160
It is not easy. You'll have to relearn it.

00:34:28.160 --> 00:34:30.160
You'll have to relearn it.

00:34:30.160 --> 00:34:34.160
And it really messes up our relationship with the father

00:34:34.160 --> 00:34:43.160
We superimpose how we've been with our parents on him.

00:34:43.160 --> 00:34:47.160
So when you deal with your kids, it's the same thing.

00:34:47.160 --> 00:34:49.160
Can you make an extra effort not to condemn?

00:34:49.160 --> 00:34:53.160
Can I make an extra effort not to condemn you?

00:34:53.160 --> 00:34:57.160
I might be judging you. I might be instructing you. I might be correcting you.

00:34:57.160 --> 00:35:02.160
But can the facial expression get a little nicer?

00:35:02.160 --> 00:35:15.160
Or can I use words that won't trigger you?

00:35:15.160 --> 00:35:21.160
Because when Satan stops accusing us, one of the things he does is he uses me as his mouthpiece to accuse you

00:35:21.160 --> 00:35:24.160
in a way that is condemnatory.

00:35:24.160 --> 00:35:31.160
And the same thing that may work with Aaron, and he feels like, man, I really got a whooping and I feel all strong.

00:35:31.160 --> 00:35:36.160
You do the same thing with Michelle and she'll say, let's not go to this church again.

00:35:36.160 --> 00:35:38.160
Why? Because each person is different.

00:35:38.160 --> 00:35:41.160
And as a parent, do you have the ability to do that?

00:35:41.160 --> 00:35:51.160
Because God does that different with each of us.

00:35:51.160 --> 00:35:58.160
Hey, some of us are laboring under the condemnation that our dads and our moms put on us.

00:35:58.160 --> 00:36:03.160
Moms are more blackmailed. Dads are condemnation.

00:36:03.160 --> 00:36:05.160
You're laboring under it.

00:36:05.160 --> 00:36:14.160
We have an opportunity today to say no more.

00:36:14.160 --> 00:36:18.160
Everything they said that I keep hearing again where I feel condemned, no more.

00:36:18.160 --> 00:36:20.160
I'm not going to stay in this.

00:36:20.160 --> 00:36:28.160
You've got an opportunity if you think you've been condemned by me to stand up and say no more.

00:36:28.160 --> 00:36:30.160
Not right away. You can do it later.

00:36:30.160 --> 00:36:41.160
Oh, sorry. I'm just kidding. Cliff, I was just kidding.

00:36:41.160 --> 00:36:43.160
Forget what you did.

00:36:43.160 --> 00:36:52.160
Second, you confess when no condemnation is on, you confess what you did easier.

00:36:52.160 --> 00:36:56.160
You know, it's so easy to, like the story of that fourth kid,

00:36:56.160 --> 00:37:04.160
it's so easy to go and confess something that you've done wrong when you know you're not going to be condemned.

00:37:04.160 --> 00:37:07.160
You're sorry for it. You're going talking about it.

00:37:07.160 --> 00:37:18.160
You're so sure that you're not going to come out of there as if you've been shamed.

00:37:18.160 --> 00:37:28.160
Third, you pour out no condemnation on others.

00:37:28.160 --> 00:37:31.160
Doesn't matter that they may have harmed you.

00:37:31.160 --> 00:37:34.160
Doesn't matter that they may have spoken ill of you.

00:37:34.160 --> 00:37:36.160
It doesn't matter that they may resent you.

00:37:36.160 --> 00:37:39.160
It doesn't matter that they go stalk behind your back.

00:37:39.160 --> 00:37:47.160
You now figure out how to pour out no condemnation on them.

00:37:47.160 --> 00:37:50.160
And remember, expression matters.

00:37:50.160 --> 00:37:56.160
Our expressions give away condemnation even before our words do.

00:37:56.160 --> 00:37:58.160
You should see me when someone cuts me off in traffic.

00:37:58.160 --> 00:38:04.160
I look to see whether the person is smaller or a female, and then I go.

00:38:04.160 --> 00:38:07.160
I hope they can see me rolling my eyes. What am I trying to do?

00:38:07.160 --> 00:38:10.160
Disdain them, condemn them, saying, what kind of driver are you?

00:38:10.160 --> 00:38:15.160
It's pathetic. And I'm driving to church, by the way.

00:38:15.160 --> 00:38:22.160
It's pride. It's disdain. It's condemning someone.

00:38:22.160 --> 00:38:27.160
Of course, it's only my problem.

00:38:27.160 --> 00:38:33.160
And it looks like it's Don's problem also.

00:38:33.160 --> 00:38:43.160
No condemnation, it allows me to be bold or radical always.

00:38:43.160 --> 00:38:46.160
It allows me to be bold or radical always.

00:38:46.160 --> 00:38:58.160
If you know that your boss will back you up after you just lost him a million dollars,

00:38:58.160 --> 00:39:03.160
that should give you courage.

00:39:04.160 --> 00:39:06.160
You just burnt his Tesla down by mistake,

00:39:06.160 --> 00:39:19.160
and he still sends you on an errand in his ID4 VW.

00:39:19.160 --> 00:39:27.160
It gives you such boldness. Any questions, guys?

00:39:27.160 --> 00:39:30.160
Okay.

00:39:30.160 --> 00:39:33.160
When we break bread today, and I want to take time to break bread,

00:39:33.160 --> 00:39:37.160
and there's no clock on the wall.

00:39:37.160 --> 00:39:41.160
When we break bread today, I just want you to end this in your life.

00:39:41.160 --> 00:39:46.160
I just want you to say no more.

00:39:46.160 --> 00:39:50.160
And if it comes back, you know that game where you take a thing

00:39:50.160 --> 00:39:53.160
and you knock those things that come out of those things?

00:39:54.160 --> 00:39:57.160
Vakomol.

00:39:57.160 --> 00:40:09.160
Just do that every time it comes up.

00:40:09.160 --> 00:40:12.160
Okay, you have a question. Go ahead.

00:40:30.160 --> 00:40:34.160
Yeah. Let's assume HIP condemns me for something.

00:40:34.160 --> 00:40:38.160
And let's assume he condemns me in two things.

00:40:38.160 --> 00:40:43.160
Let's assume one of them is true, and one of them is not true.

00:40:43.160 --> 00:40:47.160
My immediate response should be, yes, he's condemned me,

00:40:47.160 --> 00:40:54.160
but I've got to quickly run to my father and get my face back again.

00:40:54.160 --> 00:40:57.160
As in, father, he said these two things.

00:40:57.160 --> 00:40:59.160
I've got a feeling that there's truth in that thing,

00:40:59.160 --> 00:41:01.160
and the other thing, I'm not too sure.

00:41:01.160 --> 00:41:05.160
But I'm not going to throw it out because I'm not the only one who hears the Holy Spirit.

00:41:05.160 --> 00:41:09.160
There are things about me that are like blind spots where I will not hear the Holy Spirit.

00:41:09.160 --> 00:41:13.160
I'm open to both things, but I think HIP is right in this and wrong in this.

00:41:13.160 --> 00:41:18.160
But before I even deal with it, can I come to you and look at your face

00:41:18.160 --> 00:41:21.160
because your face and your word is a mirror.

00:41:21.160 --> 00:41:27.160
Now that I've been restored in terms of you not condemning me, you justifying me,

00:41:27.160 --> 00:41:30.160
you not using the harsh words or the kind words he used,

00:41:30.160 --> 00:41:35.160
now that I've gotten my face together, let me go examine what HIP has said.

00:41:35.160 --> 00:41:37.160
How do I examine it?

00:41:37.160 --> 00:41:40.160
Multiple ways. One, father, was it true?

00:41:40.160 --> 00:41:44.160
Two, hey, Zia, you're my best friend.

00:41:44.160 --> 00:41:47.160
What do you think about what he said?

00:41:47.160 --> 00:41:54.160
Three, sometimes you know that a person is right inside you even though you don't want to admit it.

00:41:54.160 --> 00:41:58.160
Four, go to the nature of God and the Word of God and see what you're doing,

00:41:58.160 --> 00:42:01.160
what he's accused you of, matches with it or not.

00:42:01.160 --> 00:42:05.160
But the first thing I have to do, there are many times I go to someone's house,

00:42:05.160 --> 00:42:09.160
go to meet somebody and you come out of there and I often tell the Lord,

00:42:09.160 --> 00:42:14.160
Father, I feel like so disheveled or so beaten up after that meeting.

00:42:14.160 --> 00:42:18.160
I'm driving home and I usually say to the Lord while I'm driving home,

00:42:18.160 --> 00:42:24.160
Father, before I deal with it, I need my face restored.

00:42:24.160 --> 00:42:31.160
And the only way I can have my face restored is if I look at you because I know you as a father.

00:42:31.160 --> 00:42:37.160
Otherwise, immediately the thing that will happen is who does he think he is?

00:42:37.160 --> 00:42:43.160
Resentment, finding fault, dismissing what he said.

00:42:43.160 --> 00:42:47.160
Anything he says, go out of the window. Why? Because my face is not restored.

00:42:47.160 --> 00:42:52.160
If my face is not restored, then the usual response to condemnation is either

00:42:52.160 --> 00:42:59.160
punch back or accept it all.

00:42:59.160 --> 00:43:07.160
It's critical to go and look at your father's face and know that, ah shucks,

00:43:07.160 --> 00:43:15.160
that, you know, in that movie, part one, part two, this is part one, it was much nicer.

00:43:15.160 --> 00:43:20.160
Part two I didn't watch. You know which movie now?

00:43:20.160 --> 00:43:25.160
Still don't know?

00:43:25.160 --> 00:43:34.160
In that movie there's a line and I love that line.

00:43:34.160 --> 00:43:41.160
In that movie there's this line. It's not worth, I'm not recommending that movie, please.

00:43:41.160 --> 00:43:48.160
I'm just saying there's a line in that movie where this guy says to his people,

00:43:48.160 --> 00:43:55.160
do not touch him for he has my countenance.

00:43:55.160 --> 00:44:02.160
Do not touch him for he has my countenance.

00:44:02.160 --> 00:44:05.160
I love that line.

00:44:05.160 --> 00:44:10.160
I have his countenance. Meaning I don't have his face.

00:44:10.160 --> 00:44:14.160
What the guy is trying to say is my favor is upon him. My face is upon him.

00:44:14.160 --> 00:44:17.160
My countenance is smiling at him. Do not touch him.

00:44:17.160 --> 00:44:20.160
I have his countenance.

00:44:20.160 --> 00:44:23.160
It doesn't matter who says what. It doesn't matter when you accuse yourself.

00:44:23.160 --> 00:44:26.160
Because here's this beautiful verse in 1 John 3.12.

00:44:26.160 --> 00:44:31.160
1 John 3.12 says, and even after that, if your heart condemns you,

00:44:31.160 --> 00:44:35.160
know that there is a God who's greater than your heart.

00:44:35.160 --> 00:44:38.160
It's not saying that you are wrong or right.

00:44:38.160 --> 00:44:42.160
It is saying there is a God who does not condemn.

00:44:42.160 --> 00:44:48.160
Look at him first.

00:44:48.160 --> 00:44:54.160
Because he is saying, Jacob, you have my countenance.

00:44:54.160 --> 00:45:04.160
Which doesn't mean he won't deal with the mess that hip is accusing me of.

00:45:04.160 --> 00:45:15.160
And not all accusations are untrue.

00:45:15.160 --> 00:45:27.160
We call them accusations, but not all of them are untrue.

00:45:27.160 --> 00:45:31.160
If you want to engage in spiritual warfare,

00:45:31.160 --> 00:45:41.160
if you carry in your conscience condemnation, it's very hard to go into war.

00:45:41.160 --> 00:45:47.160
That's why, unfortunately, people fast before going to cast out a demon

00:45:47.160 --> 00:45:51.160
or before going to deal with some evil spiritual power.

00:45:51.160 --> 00:45:53.160
People fast. Why do they fast?

00:45:53.160 --> 00:46:00.160
Because they think if they fast that somehow it will make them holier.

00:46:00.160 --> 00:46:05.160
It's absurd.

00:46:05.160 --> 00:46:09.160
Demons don't run because my stomach is empty.

00:46:09.160 --> 00:46:18.160
They run either because of your intimacy with God, your purity, or your authority.

00:46:18.160 --> 00:46:28.160
And your purity is a sign of your intimacy, and your intimacy intimidates the enemy.

00:46:28.160 --> 00:46:32.160
If you want to fast, fast when you're not casting out demons.

00:46:32.160 --> 00:46:35.160
And then when the day comes, you don't have to do anything.

00:46:35.160 --> 00:46:38.160
You operate out of who you are.

00:46:38.160 --> 00:46:44.160
These are traditions and legalisms that have gotten in the way, and we made doctrine out of them.

00:46:44.160 --> 00:46:50.160
Because Jesus did not say, this kind comes out only through prayer and fasting.

00:46:50.160 --> 00:46:53.160
He actually said, this kind comes out only through prayer.

00:46:53.160 --> 00:46:57.160
Read any Bible, it'll say in italics that the rest was added on much later.

00:46:57.160 --> 00:47:02.160
It's not found in any of the original manuscripts.

00:47:02.160 --> 00:47:04.160
I'm not discouraging fasting.

00:47:04.160 --> 00:47:22.160
I'm just saying sometimes the traditions we keep up is so that we don't feel condemned.

00:47:22.160 --> 00:47:31.160
In the Old Testament, the law commanded things.

00:47:31.160 --> 00:47:36.160
Moses' law commanded things. God gave the law through Moses, it commanded things.

00:47:36.160 --> 00:47:45.160
And if you broke them, law breakers were condemned.

00:47:45.160 --> 00:47:49.160
Very simple. Cause and effect.

00:47:49.160 --> 00:47:54.160
You do this, this will happen. And it would happen.

00:47:54.160 --> 00:48:18.160
But the law also pointed one day to a sacrifice that would make you righteous.

00:48:18.160 --> 00:48:20.160
That's what the law did.

00:48:20.160 --> 00:48:22.160
And so then God sends his son.

00:48:22.160 --> 00:48:27.160
And here's the crazy thing, guys.

00:48:27.160 --> 00:48:41.160
God condemns my sin in his flesh.

00:48:41.160 --> 00:48:47.160
God condemns my sin in his flesh.

00:48:47.160 --> 00:48:55.160
God condemns my sin in Christ's flesh.

00:48:55.160 --> 00:49:03.160
Why do I want to struggle under it anymore?

00:49:03.160 --> 00:49:06.160
God condemns my sin in his flesh.

00:49:06.160 --> 00:49:09.160
Whatever happened to him, happens to me.

00:49:09.160 --> 00:49:13.160
Sin was condemned in his flesh, sin is condemned in my flesh.

00:49:13.160 --> 00:49:17.160
But he takes it on as a substitute and a representative.

00:49:17.160 --> 00:49:25.160
Why should I labor tomorrow under any feeling of condemnation?

00:49:25.160 --> 00:49:37.160
Anything that I do tomorrow to remove condemnation is actually not receiving fully the finished works of Christ on the cross.

00:49:37.160 --> 00:50:06.160
Anything I do tomorrow in some kind of odd repentance or extra song or sackcloth or ashes or any kind of wormishness or any kind of groveling that I do tomorrow is actually a dismissal or a receiving in vain of the finished works of the cross.

00:50:06.160 --> 00:50:16.160
Any questions, any thoughts, any arguments, any disagreements?

00:50:16.160 --> 00:50:19.160
Appeasement is not a Christian quality.

00:50:19.160 --> 00:50:22.160
Appeasement is not a Christian virtue.

00:50:22.160 --> 00:50:25.160
We do not appease God.

00:50:25.160 --> 00:50:28.160
The only appeasement God needed was through his son.

00:50:28.160 --> 00:50:30.160
We do not appease God.

00:50:30.160 --> 00:50:31.160
We love him.

00:50:31.160 --> 00:50:47.160
If you have to appease your wife, a time will come when loving her will be difficult.

00:50:47.160 --> 00:50:55.160
Appeasement is doing things to make the other person happy so that the person will not be upset with you anymore.

00:50:55.160 --> 00:50:58.160
But you have a happy God who does not condemn you.

00:50:58.160 --> 00:51:13.160
So why appease him?

00:51:13.160 --> 00:51:19.160
Yeah.

00:51:19.160 --> 00:51:21.160
I didn't hear you.

00:51:21.160 --> 00:51:28.160
Yeah, no, I heard the story, but the last line.

00:51:28.160 --> 00:51:40.160
Yeah, but but but even that, in a sense, has we moved on from even that story because the tax collector was beating his breast and saying, woe is me, while the Pharisee was saying, I deserve a seat.

00:51:40.160 --> 00:51:48.160
I'm saying there is no more woe is me.

00:51:48.160 --> 00:51:56.160
You have to think of think of this as what if you were a father or a mother and you have to think of this as what if you were a child.

00:51:56.160 --> 00:51:58.160
So you saw Liam come up today, right?

00:51:58.160 --> 00:52:05.160
Now he may he messes up and he's going standing before Aaron and Michel and Aaron, I'm really bad.

00:52:05.160 --> 00:52:06.160
I'm really sorry.

00:52:06.160 --> 00:52:15.160
It'll break his heart, man.

00:52:15.160 --> 00:52:20.160
So on one hand, yes, he was justified, but even the ways of justification are not different.

00:52:20.160 --> 00:52:21.160
The kids are back.

00:52:21.160 --> 00:52:26.160
Where's Danny?

00:52:26.160 --> 00:52:31.160
Is this a ploy by the Sunday school teachers to make me end my teaching?

00:52:31.160 --> 00:52:36.160
It's not working.

00:52:36.160 --> 00:52:44.160
Okay, let me start ending.

00:52:44.160 --> 00:53:10.160
Legally, legally, my union with Christ establishes a forever verdict, a forever verdict, not guilty.

00:53:10.160 --> 00:53:13.160
It's a forever verdict.

00:53:13.160 --> 00:53:19.160
I am not guilty.

00:53:19.160 --> 00:53:20.160
That's legally.

00:53:20.160 --> 00:53:24.160
It's a it's legally binding in the universe.

00:53:24.160 --> 00:53:26.160
It's as sure as gravity.

00:53:26.160 --> 00:53:30.160
It is as sure as the sun rising and the sun setting.

00:53:30.160 --> 00:53:33.160
It is as sure as sowing and reaping.

00:53:33.160 --> 00:53:37.160
It is as sure as summer and winter.

00:53:37.160 --> 00:53:39.160
Those are the things God says in the Bible.

00:53:39.160 --> 00:53:40.160
These are sure things.

00:53:40.160 --> 00:53:50.160
And he's saying, Jacob, legally, because of what Christ did and because you are in Christ, I have established a forever verdict over your head.

00:53:50.160 --> 00:53:54.160
And it says not guilty.

00:53:54.160 --> 00:54:09.160
So try not to labor under it tomorrow and then day after and then day after.

00:54:09.160 --> 00:54:36.160
We don't do anything to maintain our no condemnation status.

00:54:36.160 --> 00:54:41.160
You wouldn't do anything because there is no condemnation.

00:54:41.160 --> 00:54:44.160
You receive the spirit.

00:54:44.160 --> 00:54:45.160
You read Romans eight.

00:54:45.160 --> 00:54:49.160
It talks about it because there is no condemnation because everything has been forgiven.

00:54:49.160 --> 00:55:00.160
You receive the spirit and because you receive the spirit, you can live for him.

00:55:00.160 --> 00:55:08.160
You could just begin to think along the lines of Gosh, there's nothing that God condemns me for.

00:55:08.160 --> 00:55:09.160
There is no condemnation.

00:55:09.160 --> 00:55:16.160
He'll never make me feel guilty.

00:55:16.160 --> 00:55:25.160
So when you suffer physical pain and the devil turns up and says, oh, your thoughts begin to say or Job's friends begin to say it's punishment.

00:55:25.160 --> 00:55:27.160
You're under God's condemnation.

00:55:27.160 --> 00:55:29.160
That's why you're suffering so much.

00:55:29.160 --> 00:55:34.160
So I'm not under condemnation.

00:55:34.160 --> 00:55:35.160
I trust you, Christ.

00:55:35.160 --> 00:55:37.160
Some of us will have to say this tomorrow.

00:55:37.160 --> 00:55:39.160
Some of us will have to say this tomorrow.

00:55:39.160 --> 00:55:41.160
Well, God, I just felt condemned again.

00:55:41.160 --> 00:55:42.160
I just felt guilty again.

00:55:42.160 --> 00:55:44.160
I am not under condemnation.

00:55:44.160 --> 00:55:46.160
Sure, I messed up a call.

00:55:46.160 --> 00:55:49.160
I'll talk to you about it, but I will not carry guilt for a moment.

00:55:49.160 --> 00:55:51.160
I have your countenance.

00:55:51.160 --> 00:55:52.160
I know your faith.

00:55:52.160 --> 00:55:54.160
Your face is good towards me.

00:55:54.160 --> 00:56:03.160
I refuse to come for a second under a shadow that condemns me because every shadow that condemns you will cast a shadow on the face of God.

00:56:03.160 --> 00:56:10.160
Every shadow that condemns you will cast a shadow on the face of God where you will not see his smile.

00:56:10.160 --> 00:56:12.160
You will not see his favor.

00:56:12.160 --> 00:56:21.160
You will see his frown.

00:56:21.160 --> 00:56:27.160
So let's say I do something that during this meeting I said something and it's affected Fuyo.

00:56:27.160 --> 00:56:30.160
And I suddenly see his face falling.

00:56:30.160 --> 00:56:34.160
And I realize that in my joking I've said something that has affected Fuyo.

00:56:34.160 --> 00:56:36.160
I immediately recognize it.

00:56:36.160 --> 00:56:39.160
I need to go fix it later.

00:56:39.160 --> 00:56:43.160
But I will not now preach thinking, oh my God, God's not going to come through now.

00:56:43.160 --> 00:56:44.160
The anointing has gone.

00:56:44.160 --> 00:56:46.160
My teaching won't be as strong.

00:56:46.160 --> 00:56:48.160
I better confess it right now publicly.

00:56:48.160 --> 00:56:50.160
Maybe if I confess it publicly, it will go away.

00:56:50.160 --> 00:56:52.160
Maybe God will take care of it.

00:56:52.160 --> 00:56:54.160
All these thoughts are crowding in.

00:56:54.160 --> 00:56:56.160
No, I saw his face fall.

00:56:56.160 --> 00:56:57.160
I'll have to go talk to him.

00:56:57.160 --> 00:57:00.160
But then before I talk to him, I look at the father's face.

00:57:00.160 --> 00:57:04.160
And his face is still favorable towards me.

00:57:04.160 --> 00:57:08.160
And he recognizes that Jacob recognized what happened to Fuyo.

00:57:08.160 --> 00:57:19.160
And I will help him go and talk to Fuyo.

00:57:19.160 --> 00:57:24.160
If you don't think this is from the Bible, speak now.

00:57:24.160 --> 00:57:29.160
If you think this is cheap grace of some sort, speak now.

00:57:29.160 --> 00:57:31.160
If you want to oppose this, speak now.

00:57:31.160 --> 00:57:36.160
Because what if all I'm saying is false?

00:57:36.160 --> 00:57:45.160
But if you don't speak now, then you must begin to live like this.

00:57:46.160 --> 00:57:51.160
We cannot compute this because we don't behave like this with people.

00:57:51.160 --> 00:57:56.160
The moment Anna says something that hurts him, he may not say anything to Anna,

00:57:56.160 --> 00:58:00.160
but his face falls and then he's upset.

00:58:00.160 --> 00:58:01.160
But that's not how God is.

00:58:01.160 --> 00:58:07.160
God doesn't...

00:58:07.160 --> 00:58:11.160
God recognizes that our Shastra, the Shanti, knew instantly what he did wrong.

00:58:11.160 --> 00:58:17.160
And he's going to deal with it first with me and then with whoever he harmed.

00:58:17.160 --> 00:58:20.160
And if I don't, then he begins to push me, prod me, saying,

00:58:20.160 --> 00:58:24.160
you need to go and talk to Fuyo. Why are you avoiding it?

00:58:24.160 --> 00:58:29.160
But his face, I've got his confidence.

00:58:29.160 --> 00:58:33.160
Do you know what boldness that gives me?

00:58:33.160 --> 00:58:41.160
I've just affected Fuyo, yet I can minister to Echo.

00:58:41.160 --> 00:58:45.160
Worship leaders are the worst.

00:58:45.160 --> 00:58:54.160
They are some of the most sensitive, touch-me-not people you can find in a church.

00:58:54.160 --> 00:58:59.160
You usually know where a worship leader is by the first two songs he chooses.

00:58:59.160 --> 00:59:08.160
If the first two songs are about purifying, oh God, let me be as gold, you know he's had a bad day.

00:59:08.160 --> 00:59:15.160
The first... not Tuni, Tuni is exceptional.

00:59:15.160 --> 00:59:23.160
But usually the first two songs usually reveal what happened in the worship leader's life the last two days.

00:59:23.160 --> 00:59:28.160
If it has ever purified my heart, you know he's trying to ask God to forgive him.

00:59:28.160 --> 00:59:32.160
And he's hoping it'll happen quickly so that he can go to the next fast song,

00:59:32.160 --> 00:59:36.160
because he has to dance and jump and look happy.

00:59:36.160 --> 00:59:39.160
Right?

00:59:39.160 --> 00:59:46.160
Okay.

00:59:46.160 --> 00:59:53.160
So can you, can you who have children that you think you didn't raise well,

00:59:53.160 --> 00:59:56.160
can you stop condemning your parenting?

00:59:56.160 --> 01:00:03.160
Can you, if you messed up in ministry because of different reasons and you're not doing much,

01:00:03.160 --> 01:00:08.160
can you stop condemning yourself for what you did?

01:00:08.160 --> 01:00:09.160
Here's another one.

01:00:09.160 --> 01:00:15.160
Can you stop condemning yourself because you are being tempted sexually?

01:00:15.160 --> 01:00:21.160
The number of men and women who feel condemned because they are tempted sexually,

01:00:21.160 --> 01:00:24.160
don't even go through the process.

01:00:24.160 --> 01:00:29.160
They just happen to look at a woman wrongly, happen to look at a guy wrongly, read a book, saw a movie,

01:00:29.160 --> 01:00:34.160
watched one of those reels on Facebook or Instagram or whatever,

01:00:34.160 --> 01:00:42.160
and you spend 10 seconds, 15 seconds and my God, the condemnation we go through because of that.

01:00:42.160 --> 01:00:52.160
Can you stop feeling condemned because you're being tempted sexually or tempted to pride?

01:00:52.160 --> 01:00:56.160
Can you, can you go to this father who isn't frowning at you?

01:00:56.160 --> 01:01:02.160
This sounds so weird to put it this way because it sounds like a different God.

01:01:02.160 --> 01:01:06.160
Our God usually frowns immediately.

01:01:06.160 --> 01:01:09.160
To go to him and say, father, messed up again.

01:01:09.160 --> 01:01:12.160
Well, thank you for being so inviting.

01:01:12.160 --> 01:01:17.160
Thank you for holding me as you talk to me.

01:01:17.160 --> 01:01:20.160
I said this before, but in the Visual Matthew series,

01:01:20.160 --> 01:01:26.160
when Jesus says to Peter, get thee behind me, Satan, he actually holds Peter.

01:01:26.160 --> 01:01:27.160
That's how they depict it.

01:01:27.160 --> 01:01:30.160
I thought it's so brilliant in terms of the nature of God.

01:01:30.160 --> 01:01:35.160
He holds Peter and as he holds him, he says, get thee behind me, Satan.

01:01:35.160 --> 01:01:39.160
That someone can handle.

01:01:39.160 --> 01:01:43.160
It was loud enough because someone recorded it and it wasn't Peter,

01:01:43.160 --> 01:01:46.160
but he held him as he said that.

01:01:46.160 --> 01:01:54.160
This is the same kind of God who holds you while he instructs you, corrects you, disciplines you.

01:01:54.160 --> 01:01:57.160
Your parents have done that sometimes.

01:02:01.160 --> 01:02:06.160
Even when you're tempted, can you not feel condemned?

01:02:06.160 --> 01:02:09.160
So Jacob, doesn't this give people the license to go ahead and sin?

01:02:09.160 --> 01:02:12.160
Absolutely.

01:02:12.160 --> 01:02:14.160
So?

01:02:14.160 --> 01:02:18.160
God's not going to take that choice away, but my God, his love is overpowering.

01:02:18.160 --> 01:02:20.160
When you meet someone who does not condemn you,

01:02:20.160 --> 01:02:28.160
you usually want to please that person, not try and work out things.

01:02:28.160 --> 01:02:36.160
If I find you forgiving, if I find you non-condemning, I assure you, it frees me to serve you.

01:02:36.160 --> 01:02:39.160
It frees me to love you.

01:02:39.160 --> 01:02:48.160
More than anything else, it frees me to be fearless in my confessing and talking to you about what I did wrong.

01:02:48.160 --> 01:02:53.160
I love it when I see husbands who have the boldness to go up to their wives

01:02:53.160 --> 01:03:02.160
and talk fearlessly about something that they've messed up in.

01:03:02.160 --> 01:03:06.160
What a gift your spouse is if your spouse doesn't condemn you,

01:03:06.160 --> 01:03:11.160
but argues, feels upset, feels hurt, but does not condemn.

01:03:11.160 --> 01:03:13.160
Is it possible to feel hurt and not condemn?

01:03:13.160 --> 01:03:16.160
Yes!

01:03:16.160 --> 01:03:28.160
A person who feels hurt and does not condemn will actually forgive you the moment you say you're sorry and you mean it.

01:03:28.160 --> 01:03:36.160
This is a beautiful thing, no condemnation.

01:03:36.160 --> 01:03:40.160
You know why I preach this so passionately right now?

01:03:40.160 --> 01:03:43.160
Because I want to live this tomorrow.

01:03:43.160 --> 01:03:48.160
In my talking to you, I want the same thing to happen to me,

01:03:48.160 --> 01:03:52.160
where there won't be a day that I live from today on, and it seems impossible.

01:03:52.160 --> 01:04:00.160
But what if? What if it is possible for Jacob never to feel condemned again before God?

01:04:00.160 --> 01:04:04.160
Can you imagine the next 50 years?

01:04:04.160 --> 01:04:07.160
Okay, don't go that far.

01:04:07.160 --> 01:04:11.160
Can you imagine that?

01:04:11.160 --> 01:04:13.160
I've gotten the other part right.

01:04:13.160 --> 01:04:17.160
I can go to God if you condemn me. I can fix my face.

01:04:17.160 --> 01:04:19.160
But I don't know how to do it with God.

01:04:19.160 --> 01:04:21.160
I labor. I feel guilty.

01:04:21.160 --> 01:04:23.160
I feel like what if God doesn't back me up?

01:04:23.160 --> 01:04:26.160
I feel like how can I minister if this thing is not sorted out?

01:04:26.160 --> 01:04:31.160
I feel like I've got to go talk to him about it. Without talking to him about it, it won't work out.

01:04:31.160 --> 01:04:35.160
Traditions, traditions, traditions. Fiddler on the roof.

01:04:51.160 --> 01:04:59.160
Condemnation-free grace can either cause you to be lawless and exploit his goodness,

01:04:59.160 --> 01:05:07.160
or it'll draw you so deep into his love that you'll have this eagerness to turn away from sin and guilt,

01:05:07.160 --> 01:05:15.160
and you'll have this joyful satisfaction of living for him.

01:05:15.160 --> 01:05:20.160
So as we go and break bread, what are you saying?

01:05:20.160 --> 01:05:23.160
Oh God, I am going to live uncondemned.

01:05:23.160 --> 01:05:35.160
I am going to live uncondemned.

01:05:35.160 --> 01:05:40.160
I'm going to live uncondemned.

01:05:40.160 --> 01:05:47.160
I will repent, but I will live uncondemned.

01:05:47.160 --> 01:05:56.160
And I'm going to resist the torment of condemnation.

01:05:56.160 --> 01:05:58.160
No longer. Why?

01:05:58.160 --> 01:06:10.160
Why? Because I'm a restored, forgiven, guilt-free person.

01:06:10.160 --> 01:06:18.160
And that's your verdict.

01:06:18.160 --> 01:06:36.160
Turn to Romans 8.1.

01:06:36.160 --> 01:06:44.160
I'm going to read from the Passion Translation, just so we, not because it's a fabulous translation,

01:06:44.160 --> 01:06:47.160
but it helps us understand what we're talking about.

01:06:47.160 --> 01:06:49.160
Romans 8.1 from the TPT.

01:06:49.160 --> 01:06:52.160
So now the case is closed.

01:06:52.160 --> 01:06:56.160
Beautiful, eh?

01:06:56.160 --> 01:07:01.160
So now the case is closed.

01:07:01.160 --> 01:07:12.160
There remains no accusing voice of condemnation against those who are joined in life union with Jesus, the Anointed One.

01:07:12.160 --> 01:07:18.160
Go to verse 33.

01:07:18.160 --> 01:07:22.160
31. So what does all this mean?

01:07:22.160 --> 01:07:29.160
If God has determined to stand with me, tell me, who then could ever stand against me?

01:07:29.160 --> 01:07:36.160
For God proved his love by giving me his greatest treasure, the gift of his Son.

01:07:36.160 --> 01:07:42.160
And since God freely offered him up as a sacrifice for me, he certainly won't withhold anything else from me.

01:07:42.160 --> 01:07:43.160
Verse 33.

01:07:43.160 --> 01:07:49.160
Who then would dare to accuse those whom God has chosen in love to be his?

01:07:49.160 --> 01:07:53.160
God himself is a judge who has issued the final verdict over them.

01:07:53.160 --> 01:07:58.160
Not guilty!

01:07:58.160 --> 01:08:03.160
Scared you, eh?

01:08:03.160 --> 01:08:06.160
Not guilty.

01:08:06.160 --> 01:08:10.160
Did I wake up your children?

01:08:10.160 --> 01:08:12.160
Who then is left to condemn us?

01:08:12.160 --> 01:08:16.160
Certainly not Jesus, the Anointed One, for he gave his life for us.

01:08:16.160 --> 01:08:18.160
And even more than that, he has conquered death.

01:08:18.160 --> 01:08:22.160
He's now risen, exalted, enthroned at the right hand of God.

01:08:22.160 --> 01:08:35.160
He most certainly cannot condemn us, since he continually is praying for my victory.

01:08:35.160 --> 01:08:37.160
Is the bread and grape juice given?

01:08:37.160 --> 01:08:40.160
Can I get one?

01:08:40.160 --> 01:08:42.160
Is that yours?

01:08:42.160 --> 01:08:49.160
Okay.

01:08:49.160 --> 01:09:07.160
Father, today as we partake of the bread and the grape juice, the bread and the wine,

01:09:07.160 --> 01:09:19.160
the moment we eat and drink this, we want to live what he did on the cross.

01:09:19.160 --> 01:09:26.160
We've labored under this for very, very long.

01:09:26.160 --> 01:09:33.160
I just pray that prayers go up from the congregation, talking about what we've heard and what we feel and how this should work.

01:09:33.160 --> 01:09:35.160
I just open it up to the church, Father.

01:09:35.160 --> 01:09:40.160
People just praying loudly to you, saying, this is what I'm going to do.

01:09:40.160 --> 01:09:43.160
Feel free, guys.

01:09:43.160 --> 01:09:49.160
You know, the idea is to remember the benefits of his death.

01:09:49.160 --> 01:09:53.160
We have to recall the benefits of his death and proclaim the benefits of his death.

01:09:53.160 --> 01:09:55.160
So feel free.

01:09:55.160 --> 01:10:02.160
With regard to what we heard today.

01:10:02.160 --> 01:10:04.160
Freely approach him.

01:10:04.160 --> 01:10:08.160
Never do the song and dance ever again in your life.

01:10:08.160 --> 01:10:13.160
Refuse it.

01:10:13.160 --> 01:10:16.160
Never do it again.

01:10:16.160 --> 01:10:22.160
Condemn it.

01:10:22.160 --> 01:10:29.160
I ask the first person I go to to restore my faith before I then deal with whatever may be true or false.

01:10:52.160 --> 01:10:59.160
I ask the first person I go to to restore my faith before I then deal with whatever may be true or false.

01:10:59.160 --> 01:11:06.160
I ask the first person I go to to restore my faith before I then deal with whatever may be true or false.

01:11:06.160 --> 01:11:13.160
I ask the first person I go to to restore my faith before I then deal with whatever may be true or false.

01:11:13.160 --> 01:11:20.160
I ask the first person I go to to restore my faith before I then deal with whatever may be true or false.

01:11:21.160 --> 01:11:23.160
Doesn't matter what you've come out of.

01:11:23.160 --> 01:11:25.160
Doesn't matter where you've made your bed.

01:11:25.160 --> 01:11:27.160
Psalm 139.

01:11:27.160 --> 01:11:28.160
Where can I run from you?

01:11:28.160 --> 01:11:30.160
I go to the deepest darkness, you're there.

01:11:30.160 --> 01:11:44.160
I take the wings of the morning, you're there.

01:11:44.160 --> 01:11:45.160
Yeah, man.

01:11:45.160 --> 01:11:49.160
I will not hide like Adam did in the garden.

01:11:49.160 --> 01:11:50.160
I hear his footsteps.

01:11:50.160 --> 01:11:52.160
I'm not going to hide and confess my sins.

01:11:52.160 --> 01:11:55.160
I'll run to his footsteps and bow at his knee.

01:11:55.160 --> 01:11:56.160
Do you know who did that?

01:11:56.160 --> 01:11:58.160
Peter.

01:11:58.160 --> 01:12:00.160
The guy denied Christ.

01:12:00.160 --> 01:12:06.160
He sees him and he jumps out of the boat half naked, runs to him and falls at his feet.

01:12:06.160 --> 01:12:07.160
Not hide.

01:12:07.160 --> 01:12:09.160
No more hiding for us.

01:12:09.160 --> 01:12:12.160
We are restored, forgiven, accepted people.

01:12:12.160 --> 01:12:14.160
Yeah.

01:12:14.160 --> 01:12:15.160
Got to live this.

01:12:15.160 --> 01:12:16.160
We go into Richmond.

01:12:16.160 --> 01:12:17.160
We go into Richmond.

01:12:17.160 --> 01:12:20.160
We go in as a restored, forgiven, new people.

01:12:20.160 --> 01:12:22.160
Different mindset.

01:12:22.160 --> 01:12:24.160
What else?

01:12:32.160 --> 01:12:33.160
You know, Father, that thing.

01:12:33.160 --> 01:12:34.160
What thing?

01:12:43.160 --> 01:12:44.160
It doesn't say he forgets his sins.

01:12:44.160 --> 01:12:45.160
He says he does not remember.

01:12:45.160 --> 01:12:46.160
Beautiful.

01:12:58.160 --> 01:13:02.160
He does not remember anything wrong that I've done in the last many hours.

01:13:02.160 --> 01:13:04.160
He does not remember them.

01:13:04.160 --> 01:13:05.160
They do not stand against me.

01:13:05.160 --> 01:13:07.160
He never reckons my sins against me.

01:13:07.160 --> 01:13:09.160
They are not in his account.

01:13:09.160 --> 01:13:10.160
There's nothing.

01:13:10.160 --> 01:13:11.160
It's a clean slate.

01:13:14.160 --> 01:13:18.160
He delights in my authenticity and in my sincerity.

01:13:18.160 --> 01:13:19.160
He?

01:13:19.160 --> 01:13:21.160
He delights in my authenticity.

01:13:21.160 --> 01:13:22.160
Yeah.

01:13:22.160 --> 01:13:26.160
He delights in my authenticity and in my sincerity.

01:13:26.160 --> 01:13:28.160
I'm like a child before him.

01:13:28.160 --> 01:13:31.160
His face is always smiling on you.

01:13:31.160 --> 01:13:33.160
Yeah, man.

01:13:33.160 --> 01:13:36.160
You know, we can't picture God's face smiling on you.

01:13:36.160 --> 01:13:42.160
If you can't picture that, look at how some of these parents interact with their children.

01:13:44.160 --> 01:13:49.160
He keeps me at the center.

01:13:49.160 --> 01:13:50.160
Precious.

01:13:50.160 --> 01:13:52.160
Jacob, you're so precious to me.

01:13:52.160 --> 01:13:55.160
Jacob, you're so precious to me.

01:13:55.160 --> 01:13:59.160
I mean, why should Aaron come up when I ask Liam to come up?

01:13:59.160 --> 01:14:01.160
Why?

01:14:01.160 --> 01:14:08.160
He runs towards me.

01:14:08.160 --> 01:14:09.160
Always.

01:14:09.160 --> 01:14:12.160
He sees me a mile away before I can even open my mouth.

01:14:12.160 --> 01:14:14.160
This is the degree of non-condemnation.

01:14:14.160 --> 01:14:21.160
The boy is coming back from the pigsty planning a speech that will help him work as his father's servant.

01:14:21.160 --> 01:14:25.160
And the father sees him at a distance and doesn't even allow him to open his mouth.

01:14:25.160 --> 01:14:28.160
God knows the sincerity of my heart.

01:14:28.160 --> 01:14:32.160
Part of the reason he doesn't condemn is because he sees your heart.

01:14:32.160 --> 01:14:38.160
He just saw how badly Dilna messed up, but he also sees Dilna's heart and he says, come, my boy.

01:14:39.160 --> 01:14:44.160
We only see his mess.

01:14:55.160 --> 01:14:57.160
There's more.

01:14:57.160 --> 01:15:01.160
He favors me always.

01:15:01.160 --> 01:15:03.160
He favors me always.

01:15:03.160 --> 01:15:08.160
He doesn't sound right.

01:15:08.160 --> 01:15:11.160
Maybe think like that.

01:15:19.160 --> 01:15:21.160
More.

01:15:21.160 --> 01:15:24.160
Resets and fresh starts.

01:15:24.160 --> 01:15:29.160
Every day, every couple of hours, fresh start.

01:15:30.160 --> 01:15:33.160
His arms are stretched towards me.

01:15:33.160 --> 01:15:35.160
His arms are stretched towards me.

01:15:35.160 --> 01:15:37.160
It doesn't matter which way I turn.

01:15:37.160 --> 01:15:41.160
He takes a chair and plonks it right in front of me and says, face to face, face to face.

01:15:41.160 --> 01:15:45.160
Not in that voice, but it's like unavoidable.

01:15:45.160 --> 01:15:47.160
It doesn't matter which way you turn.

01:15:47.160 --> 01:15:52.160
He takes a chair and we did this once in Acts 29 where it doesn't matter where you go.

01:15:52.160 --> 01:15:53.160
God has a chair.

01:15:53.160 --> 01:15:56.160
He takes a chair and if he turns this way, right here.

01:15:56.160 --> 01:15:57.160
If he turns that way, right here.

01:15:57.160 --> 01:15:58.160
You can't escape him.

01:15:58.160 --> 01:16:01.160
He loves face to face.

01:16:07.160 --> 01:16:10.160
Even though we have a choice.

01:16:10.160 --> 01:16:11.160
Yeah.

01:16:11.160 --> 01:16:12.160
Crazy.

01:16:12.160 --> 01:16:17.160
He knows what you're going to do wrong and yet he's not condemning you.

01:16:17.160 --> 01:16:23.160
Because he also knows his son lives in you and you're changing, that you're only getting better.

01:16:23.160 --> 01:16:28.160
He sings over me.

01:16:28.160 --> 01:16:37.160
You know, there was a time in March where there's a thing called antiphonal singing

01:16:37.160 --> 01:16:43.160
where someone sings and then the rest of the choir sings in response.

01:16:43.160 --> 01:16:49.160
And there was a time in March this year where I would sing something.

01:16:49.160 --> 01:16:51.160
I would sing something.

01:16:51.160 --> 01:16:55.160
I could literally hear God saying, okay, these are the words that I would respond with.

01:16:55.160 --> 01:16:57.160
And I'd write it down.

01:16:57.160 --> 01:16:59.160
Where he sings over you.

01:16:59.160 --> 01:17:01.160
And so it became a game then.

01:17:01.160 --> 01:17:05.160
I'd start a song and then I'd ask him, so what do you want to sing back?

01:17:05.160 --> 01:17:10.160
It was just for a month and a half.

01:17:10.160 --> 01:17:15.160
He sings over you.

01:17:15.160 --> 01:17:16.160
What else?

01:17:16.160 --> 01:17:22.160
I'm sorry I'm sticking with this because there's still so much more to say.

01:17:22.160 --> 01:17:24.160
Plus there's no clock on the wall.

01:17:24.160 --> 01:17:25.160
Go ahead, Hib.

01:17:25.160 --> 01:17:28.160
Why do you say that?

01:17:28.160 --> 01:17:38.160
Sometimes we want things a certain way, our way, and it doesn't go your way until years later.

01:17:38.160 --> 01:17:45.160
And we realize, yeah, it wouldn't have been good if I had got that a couple years ago.

01:17:45.160 --> 01:17:47.160
Yeah.

01:17:47.160 --> 01:17:49.160
And it's not, God does not punish.

01:17:49.160 --> 01:17:56.160
He disciples, He disciplines, He does not punish.

01:17:56.160 --> 01:18:00.160
When He disciplines, it's anger free.

01:18:00.160 --> 01:18:02.160
Wrath was reserved for Christ.

01:18:02.160 --> 01:18:03.160
Does He get angry?

01:18:03.160 --> 01:18:05.160
He gets upset.

01:18:05.160 --> 01:18:07.160
But does He ever discipline you with anger?

01:18:07.160 --> 01:18:08.160
Never.

01:18:08.160 --> 01:18:09.160
Does He ever lash out at you?

01:18:09.160 --> 01:18:13.160
Never.

01:18:13.160 --> 01:18:14.160
Here's another one.

01:18:14.160 --> 01:18:24.160
Some of you may feel that God hasn't given you a fair shake, not been favoring you and stuff like that.

01:18:24.160 --> 01:18:27.160
And that there's enough reason for you not to trust Him.

01:18:27.160 --> 01:18:31.160
And God's saying to you, you have my countenance.

01:18:31.160 --> 01:18:33.160
You have my countenance.

01:18:33.160 --> 01:18:34.160
Start again.

01:18:34.160 --> 01:18:36.160
Like Sheldon's saying, start afresh.

01:18:36.160 --> 01:18:39.160
Two or three more and then we're done.

01:18:39.160 --> 01:18:41.160
Go ahead.

01:18:41.160 --> 01:18:47.160
Not seeing every bad thing in my life as a consequence.

01:18:47.160 --> 01:18:51.160
That's another very Pentecostal thing, huh?

01:18:51.160 --> 01:18:55.160
He offers life in its fullness every day.

01:18:55.160 --> 01:18:58.160
He offers life in its fullness every day.

01:18:58.160 --> 01:19:01.160
Splendid zest, light, space.

01:19:01.160 --> 01:19:04.160
Psalm 27 verse 1.

01:19:04.160 --> 01:19:08.160
His faithfulness and mercy follow me.

01:19:08.160 --> 01:19:10.160
Stop following me.

01:19:10.160 --> 01:19:13.160
Faithfulness and mercy following me.

01:19:13.160 --> 01:19:17.160
His goodness comes from the faithfulness.

01:19:17.160 --> 01:19:18.160
His goodness comes from the faithfulness.

01:19:18.160 --> 01:19:19.160
Yeah.

01:19:19.160 --> 01:19:20.160
Why?

01:19:20.160 --> 01:19:23.160
Why does His covenant stand firm with you?

01:19:33.160 --> 01:19:36.160
Because He's my Father.

01:19:36.160 --> 01:19:38.160
Because it's who He is.

01:19:43.160 --> 01:19:44.160
He's my Father.

01:19:44.160 --> 01:19:45.160
He's my Father.

01:19:48.160 --> 01:19:50.160
All righty.

01:19:50.160 --> 01:19:52.160
Before the cups begin to melt.

01:20:00.160 --> 01:20:03.160
Let's do this before we eat and drink.

01:20:03.160 --> 01:20:06.160
Pick a song and sing it to Him.

01:20:06.160 --> 01:20:08.160
We've done this before.

01:20:08.160 --> 01:20:10.160
Each one picks whatever song they want.

01:20:10.160 --> 01:20:15.160
And at the count of three, just sing it to Him before we drink.

01:20:15.160 --> 01:20:16.160
He sings over us.

01:20:16.160 --> 01:20:18.160
Let's sing over Him.

01:20:18.160 --> 01:20:21.160
We are singing together.

01:20:21.160 --> 01:20:23.160
It's just that the songs are different.

01:20:23.160 --> 01:20:25.160
We're eating and drinking together.

01:20:25.160 --> 01:20:27.160
It's just that the song is different.

01:20:29.160 --> 01:20:32.160
So on the night He was betrayed, He took bread.

01:20:32.160 --> 01:20:34.160
He gave thanks and He said,

01:20:34.160 --> 01:20:38.160
This is my body which is broken for you.

01:20:38.160 --> 01:20:44.160
I was condemned for your sin in my flesh.

01:20:44.160 --> 01:20:47.160
Please don't labor under it again.

01:20:47.160 --> 01:20:52.160
The same man after supper, he took the cup, he gave thanks and he said,

01:20:52.160 --> 01:20:57.160
This is my blood with which I write a new agreement with you.

01:20:57.160 --> 01:21:03.160
As far as the east is from the west, that's how far I have removed your transgressions from you.

01:21:03.160 --> 01:21:07.160
And I declare a forever verdict upon you.

01:21:07.160 --> 01:21:09.160
Not guilty.

01:21:09.160 --> 01:21:13.160
You have my countenance.

01:21:13.160 --> 01:21:16.160
You have my countenance.

01:21:16.160 --> 01:21:17.160
Pick a song.
