00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:15.360
For her, as she goes to Bolivia, because there is something in her that wants to do much more

00:00:15.360 --> 00:00:21.840
than she has been doing in the last little while. Let us pray that. Here is why, guys.

00:00:21.840 --> 00:00:26.140
I really believe that someone who comes here and stays for more than three or four weeks

00:00:26.140 --> 00:00:35.140
hasn't come here by accident. That is deliberate. And so then, regardless of the fact that we won't see her for the next three or four months,

00:00:35.140 --> 00:00:39.140
let's just pray that whatever needs to happen in Bolivia and then Winnipeg begins to happen.

00:00:39.140 --> 00:00:47.140
If that means some of us fly to Bolivia or fly to Winnipeg, so be it. I would prefer Bolivia. Let's pray.

00:00:47.140 --> 00:00:54.140
May I lay hands? Father, I just thank you for Alejandra right now. She's been brought here by you,

00:00:54.140 --> 00:01:06.140
and things have been happening inside her. She's going away for three or four months, but Father, there's a strong sense that this is not the end of her journey with us.

00:01:06.140 --> 00:01:18.140
So Father, would you show her and would you show us what else needs to happen? If there's something that we are supposed to do to help her in Bolivia or help her in Winnipeg?

00:01:18.140 --> 00:01:30.140
If there's anything you want to start through her, if there are dreams that she has that this house can help bring to pass, then show us over the next three or four months.

00:01:30.140 --> 00:01:43.140
So Father, we bless her as she goes. We pray that she have immunity, authority, relationship, peace, clarity, so that when she leaves Bolivia in August,

00:01:43.140 --> 00:01:53.140
that she will come back to the promised land Winnipeg with a pretty good idea of what she needs to do. This is our desire, Father, for her, because this is your desire for her.

00:01:53.140 --> 00:01:59.140
Show us over. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Bless you, man. Pleasure.

00:01:59.140 --> 00:02:15.140
Okay, so next week we'll start a new series which I'm so looking forward to. And the title of the series is The City in a City.

00:02:15.140 --> 00:02:31.140
The City in a City. That's next week. But this week I'd mention that I'd talk about how do you maintain fruitfulness as you grow older in a church that is young?

00:02:31.140 --> 00:02:47.140
And so the title that I thought of was Miles to Go Before I Sleep. And I remember in Feb, sitting at Paddington Station in London, and this guy called James Pendle comes up to me and he says,

00:02:47.140 --> 00:02:58.140
And he says, I'm a poet. Would you like a poem? And I said, sure. And then he began to recite this poem by Robert Frost called Miles to Go Before I Sleep.

00:02:58.140 --> 00:03:06.140
And the words of the last words go like this, And I have promises to keep and miles to go before I sleep and miles to go before I sleep.

00:03:06.140 --> 00:03:18.140
And one of the things we need to realize as we get older is that this is a line if you hold on to, you'll find that life is both vibrant and long and productive.

00:03:18.140 --> 00:03:28.140
So today when you look at generations, you must understand that most generations are 12 to 14 years. We talked about this sometime in March.

00:03:28.140 --> 00:03:45.140
The sociocultural gap today is 12 to 14 years. So you might think, ah, this message isn't for me because I'm not as old as Dilna, but the fact is that you are already old.

00:03:45.140 --> 00:03:58.140
If you have someone here who's 12 to 14 years younger than you, you are already in another category. Derek and all are like apoupens, which is Greek for really old.

00:03:58.140 --> 00:04:14.140
Don't even talk about me. What I'm trying to say is this, that because the cultural gap is 12 to 14 years, it's going to be hard to keep up as a church brings up the culture.

00:04:14.140 --> 00:04:28.140
And that's what brings in the young. So how do I, how do you, how does anyone who's getting older learn how to function productively, fruitfully in a church language?

00:04:28.140 --> 00:04:40.140
That's what we want to talk about. Yeah. And so young people who are now 30, take note, because I was once 30.

00:04:40.140 --> 00:04:50.140
I wasn't too long ago. It was like yesterday. Right, then. Today I will be picking on them now, as you noticed.

00:04:50.140 --> 00:05:04.140
So as you age, as you age and not putting a number to it.

00:05:04.140 --> 00:05:14.140
Great. As you age, these are some of the things that begin to creep in. So let's talk about what creeps in.

00:05:14.140 --> 00:05:24.140
And I'm talking in the context of a church that seems to be relatively young. What do we do? How do you maintain fruitfulness?

00:05:24.140 --> 00:05:29.140
This is a question. How do you maintain fruitfulness?

00:05:29.140 --> 00:05:36.140
How do you maintain fruitfulness in a young church?

00:05:36.140 --> 00:05:41.140
As you age.

00:05:41.140 --> 00:05:53.140
Because you know what normally is done? Normally it will be, let's have dinner together with a young cook for the old.

00:05:53.140 --> 00:05:59.140
And that's nice, but the young still don't know how to cook. So it really sucks.

00:05:59.140 --> 00:06:08.140
Or let's do a project together. But one of the things we have to avoid in church is tokenism.

00:06:08.140 --> 00:06:14.140
Where we do something for the sake of doing it, so that it's kumbaya. That should be avoided.

00:06:14.140 --> 00:06:21.140
The question is not can the young and old function together. The question is how do you maintain fruitfulness in a young church as you age?

00:06:21.140 --> 00:06:26.140
Because everyone will age and there are wave after wave coming.

00:06:26.140 --> 00:06:32.140
So that's a question we need to ask. So here are some of the things that happen as you age.

00:06:32.140 --> 00:06:39.140
Indifference. And particularly in the context of a church. Indifference. Sentimentality.

00:06:39.140 --> 00:06:48.140
And please don't think this is some fault that is particularly yours. This sentimentality existed as far back as Zechariah.

00:06:48.140 --> 00:07:03.140
Where you have these old fathers of Israel sitting and as Zechariah is prophesying and saying grace grace and pouring oil upon the capstone.

00:07:03.140 --> 00:07:10.140
Where they are going to reconstruct the new temple. The older fathers of faith are sitting and lamenting.

00:07:10.140 --> 00:07:17.140
Thinking of the glory of the former temple. Till God has to literally say do not despise the day of small beginnings.

00:07:17.140 --> 00:07:22.140
The glory of the latter temple will be greater than the former temple.

00:07:22.140 --> 00:07:30.140
The good old days, anyone will tell you that the good old days were pretty bad and the plumbing was atrocious.

00:07:30.140 --> 00:07:42.140
So thank God for some new modern things. So as you age, indifference, sentimentality, a sense of feeling lost.

00:07:43.140 --> 00:07:50.140
Feeling a little intimidated at the style of everything that is so different from how it used to be.

00:07:50.140 --> 00:07:57.140
A sense of entitlement where you think you paid your dues so why aren't you getting what you're getting.

00:07:57.140 --> 00:08:05.140
Self pity. Oh this is a nasty one as you get old. Hobby horses. As in this is what I've always done.

00:08:05.140 --> 00:08:15.140
Why do I have to learn how to ride an elephant? Rigidity in ways, in routine, particularly in routine.

00:08:15.140 --> 00:08:28.140
Guys I met 34 year olds who live like they are a museum. So this is not an age specific thing.

00:08:29.140 --> 00:08:36.140
You brothers have to stop looking at each other. I can see you looking at each other.

00:08:36.140 --> 00:08:43.140
Irrelevance. You feel like I'm no longer relevant in the context.

00:08:43.140 --> 00:08:51.140
An inability to change even though you want to change. These are some common problems that are worldwide.

00:08:51.140 --> 00:08:58.140
Disappointment with God because you've collected more than the young people where there were disappointments with God.

00:08:58.140 --> 00:09:09.140
The idol of comfort. Why help Sheldon with the tank when there are much younger people there.

00:09:09.140 --> 00:09:17.140
Resignation to circumstances. Where it is what it is.

00:09:17.140 --> 00:09:27.140
Fear. These are some nasty ones. Unteachability. Self pity. These are the bad ones.

00:09:27.140 --> 00:09:32.140
The other ones seem like a natural human condition. Loss of zeal.

00:09:33.140 --> 00:09:41.140
Sometimes loss of respect because you used to be very respected but nobody respects anymore.

00:09:41.140 --> 00:09:53.140
And if you're alone, if you're single, if you're widowed or if you're a spinster or never married and so on, when you're alone it's more pronounced.

00:09:53.140 --> 00:10:06.140
And you're scared of being dependent on the church or on the young. These conditions exist in every church.

00:10:06.140 --> 00:10:11.140
Do you want to say anything about it or can I move on?

00:10:11.140 --> 00:10:20.140
Which one? Resignation to circumstances.

00:10:20.140 --> 00:10:26.140
Yeah, sorry. That is difficult to read. Resignation to circumstances.

00:10:26.140 --> 00:10:35.140
So is there anything here that when you think of this, remember when you think of those that are older, do not compare them to your parents.

00:10:35.140 --> 00:10:41.140
That's a tendency we have. We always think older, you think of your mom and dad. Not a good idea.

00:10:41.140 --> 00:10:47.140
Your mom and dad are your mom and dad. Do not compare everybody that is old to them. Yeah?

00:10:47.140 --> 00:10:51.140
It doesn't work that way. Just avoid certain pitfalls.

00:10:51.140 --> 00:10:58.140
Anything in this that you think you want to comment on or are we good?

00:10:59.140 --> 00:11:09.140
This is a condition of most of us as we grow older. At some point some of this begins to hit.

00:11:09.140 --> 00:11:14.140
Okay.

00:11:14.140 --> 00:11:21.140
Bitterness. Yep. True. So true.

00:11:21.140 --> 00:11:28.140
And the bitterness is usually the result of this. Disappointments that pile up.

00:11:28.140 --> 00:11:38.140
Here's the thing guys. If this starts early, it's toxic by the time you grow old.

00:11:38.140 --> 00:11:49.140
One of the things that you who are not yet 40 should take from this or 45 should take from this is I must not let this collect.

00:11:49.140 --> 00:12:01.140
Because once it does, it becomes very difficult later on. Cool?

00:12:01.140 --> 00:12:05.140
Okay.

00:12:05.140 --> 00:12:08.140
How do you maintain fruitfulness in a young church as you age?

00:12:08.140 --> 00:12:11.140
I want to show you some scriptures that I want you to keep in mind.

00:12:11.140 --> 00:12:17.140
Zechariah 8. This was a promise given to this church before COVID.

00:12:17.140 --> 00:12:25.140
We were meeting at Charlene and Josh's house one evening and that was the first meeting that Tooney came to.

00:12:25.140 --> 00:12:28.140
And he decided he would never come back again.

00:12:28.140 --> 00:12:34.140
But now he turns up just every Sunday. Nothing we can do to keep him away.

00:12:34.140 --> 00:12:40.140
So Zechariah 8 verse 3 to 6. And this is what it says.

00:12:40.140 --> 00:12:45.140
This was a promise given in 2019, 2020 I think.

00:12:45.140 --> 00:12:51.140
This is what the Lord says. I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem.

00:12:51.140 --> 00:12:57.140
Then Jerusalem will be called the city of truth and the mountain of the Lord Almighty will be called the holy mountain.

00:12:57.140 --> 00:12:59.140
This is what the Lord Almighty says.

00:12:59.140 --> 00:13:06.140
Once again, men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with cane in hand because of his age.

00:13:06.140 --> 00:13:10.140
The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.

00:13:10.140 --> 00:13:12.140
This is what the Lord Almighty says.

00:13:12.140 --> 00:13:15.140
It seems marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time.

00:13:15.140 --> 00:13:18.140
But will it seem marvelous to me? declares the Lord Almighty.

00:13:18.140 --> 00:13:25.140
The point being his intent is to build a city within a city, which we'll talk about next week.

00:13:25.140 --> 00:13:28.140
The intent is to build a city that has the young and the old.

00:13:28.140 --> 00:13:33.140
It's never one or the other. And they're not supposed to tolerate each other.

00:13:33.140 --> 00:13:37.140
They're supposed to be how a city is composed.

00:13:37.140 --> 00:13:40.140
If you read Isaiah 66, you will see it again.

00:13:40.140 --> 00:13:47.140
He's talking about heaven and he talks about the young babies and infants that crawl around with cobras.

00:13:47.140 --> 00:13:51.140
And the old at a hundred are not old.

00:13:51.140 --> 00:13:57.140
He's always been a God who likes putting the old and the young together.

00:13:57.140 --> 00:14:05.140
If you actually look at the genealogy of the first 11 chapters of the Bible, you will find that Noah actually met Adam.

00:14:05.140 --> 00:14:09.140
That Jacob actually met Abraham.

00:14:10.140 --> 00:14:14.140
That Jacob actually met Noah.

00:14:14.140 --> 00:14:21.140
And you find as you stretch out this genealogy, I don't know if Jacob met Noah, but Noah met Adam.

00:14:21.140 --> 00:14:28.140
It's crazy how God's intent was, can I build a household with three or four generations where they feed off each other?

00:14:28.140 --> 00:14:34.140
You can imagine what information Noah is getting from Adam.

00:14:34.140 --> 00:14:38.140
How rich it is.

00:14:38.140 --> 00:14:42.140
Because they used to live forever, right?

00:14:44.140 --> 00:14:49.140
And so one of God's intent is, hey, I want to build a place where you don't tolerate each other.

00:14:49.140 --> 00:14:54.140
You're not being nice to each other. Diplomacy is never a fruit of the spirit.

00:14:54.140 --> 00:14:57.140
The intent is, can you actually relate?

00:14:57.140 --> 00:15:03.140
Because the older ones are sages and the younger ones are filled with the vigor of youth.

00:15:03.140 --> 00:15:07.140
And when that combines, there's combustion.

00:15:07.140 --> 00:15:10.140
Look at another scripture, 1 John 2.

00:15:10.140 --> 00:15:15.140
You know, last week was after service for some strange reason.

00:15:15.140 --> 00:15:22.140
Jeremy called some of the older, wiser, better looking people for dinner to White Spot.

00:15:22.140 --> 00:15:34.140
So there was Heidi, me, Wayne, Bernice, guys like this with other guys like Jonathan and a few others.

00:15:34.140 --> 00:15:38.140
And we were sitting around and Wayne was sitting right next to me.

00:15:38.140 --> 00:15:40.140
Wayne was just so thrilled.

00:15:40.140 --> 00:15:46.140
He just would take a sip of the Coke and then he would say, man, this is just fabulous.

00:15:46.140 --> 00:15:50.140
Why? Because as he looks around the table, he sees little Phoebe.

00:15:50.140 --> 00:15:52.140
He sees little Jonathan.

00:15:52.140 --> 00:15:55.140
He sees slightly grown up Jeremy.

00:15:55.140 --> 00:15:56.140
He sees me.

00:15:56.140 --> 00:15:58.140
He sees Jane and Sheldon.

00:15:58.140 --> 00:16:04.140
And it thrilled his heart that around the table nine people sat from such different backgrounds.

00:16:04.140 --> 00:16:09.140
But more than that, the age spot.

00:16:09.140 --> 00:16:14.140
Because he's 89.

00:16:14.140 --> 00:16:18.140
Phoebe's six and Jonathan is...

00:16:28.140 --> 00:16:40.140
First John 2, 1 John 2, verse 13 and 14.

00:16:40.140 --> 00:16:43.140
1 John 2, 13 and 14.

00:16:43.140 --> 00:16:47.140
I mean, if you read it slowly, it's crazy.

00:16:47.140 --> 00:16:51.140
1 John 2, 13 and 14.

00:16:51.140 --> 00:16:52.140
Starting at 12.

00:16:52.140 --> 00:16:53.140
Starting at 12.

00:16:53.140 --> 00:16:55.140
I write to you, dear children.

00:16:55.140 --> 00:16:57.140
And now he's talking about everybody.

00:16:57.140 --> 00:17:01.140
Because your sins have been forgiven on account of his name.

00:17:01.140 --> 00:17:02.140
Next.

00:17:02.140 --> 00:17:10.140
I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning.

00:17:10.140 --> 00:17:15.140
I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one.

00:17:15.140 --> 00:17:20.140
What kind of church was his?

00:17:20.140 --> 00:17:26.140
I write to you, fathers, because you have known him who is from the beginning.

00:17:26.140 --> 00:17:38.140
The older ones in that congregation had an idea of God that was so rich because of the years that they had spent knowing him.

00:17:38.140 --> 00:17:42.140
And then he goes to the young and he says, you young men, you've overcome evil.

00:17:42.140 --> 00:17:46.140
What a generation.

00:17:46.140 --> 00:18:01.140
What a blessing and a privilege for the future when you have a group of young men and women that have overcome evil.

00:18:01.140 --> 00:18:04.140
Allow me to show you something.

00:18:04.140 --> 00:18:06.140
Sen, can you put that up for a second?

00:18:06.140 --> 00:18:09.140
This broke my heart.

00:18:09.140 --> 00:18:13.140
I just stared at this picture for quite a while.

00:18:13.140 --> 00:18:18.140
Just feeling, yeah, anywhere.

00:18:18.140 --> 00:18:25.140
You know, you heard of the shooting yesterday, right, of Trump when he was at the correspondent's dinner.

00:18:25.140 --> 00:18:29.140
And we know who the shooter was.

00:18:29.140 --> 00:18:35.140
And it's a heinous thing to attempt the murder of any man or woman.

00:18:39.140 --> 00:18:41.140
You

00:19:09.140 --> 00:19:11.140
You

00:19:11.140 --> 00:19:13.140
You

00:19:13.140 --> 00:19:15.140
You

00:19:15.140 --> 00:19:17.140
You

00:19:17.140 --> 00:19:19.140
You

00:19:19.140 --> 00:19:21.140
You

00:19:21.140 --> 00:19:23.140
You

00:19:23.140 --> 00:19:25.140
You

00:19:25.140 --> 00:19:27.140
You

00:19:27.140 --> 00:19:29.140
You

00:19:29.140 --> 00:19:31.140
You

00:19:31.140 --> 00:19:33.140
You

00:19:33.140 --> 00:19:35.140
You

00:19:35.140 --> 00:19:37.140
You

00:19:37.140 --> 00:19:39.140
You

00:19:39.140 --> 00:19:46.140
It is to have a church that has young people to begin with and to have the ones that are older.

00:19:46.140 --> 00:19:49.140
Functioning in a way that is fruitful.

00:19:49.140 --> 00:19:52.140
That will only increase this.

00:19:52.140 --> 00:19:56.140
That will only increase this.

00:19:56.140 --> 00:20:05.140
We love you, Tia.

00:20:05.140 --> 00:20:07.140
Keep going. We'll read that.

00:20:07.140 --> 00:20:10.140
I write to your fathers because you've known him who is from the beginning.

00:20:10.140 --> 00:20:13.140
I write to you young men because you have overcome the evil one.

00:20:13.140 --> 00:20:17.140
I write to you dear children because you have known the father.

00:20:17.140 --> 00:20:23.140
Now he, because there is an older generation that has known the father who is from the beginning.

00:20:23.140 --> 00:20:25.140
He now expects the younger ones to know him too.

00:20:25.140 --> 00:20:29.140
This is nuts.

00:20:29.140 --> 00:20:41.140
It is impossible for the young to know him unless the old know him and show it.

00:20:41.140 --> 00:20:45.140
I write to you fathers because you have known him who is from the beginning.

00:20:45.140 --> 00:20:48.140
I write to you young men because you are strong.

00:20:48.140 --> 00:20:50.140
And the word of God lives in you.

00:20:50.140 --> 00:20:52.140
And you have overcome the evil.

00:20:52.140 --> 00:20:54.140
It's almost elaborating.

00:20:54.140 --> 00:20:56.140
You have overcome the evil. Why?

00:20:56.140 --> 00:20:58.140
Because the word of God lives in you.

00:20:58.140 --> 00:21:03.140
Any young person here, you may have tremendous gifting, tremendous grace.

00:21:03.140 --> 00:21:06.140
But if you don't have the word of God, it's only a matter of time.

00:21:06.140 --> 00:21:08.140
Because David said it this way.

00:21:08.140 --> 00:21:10.140
How shall a young man keep his way pure?

00:21:10.140 --> 00:21:14.140
By cherishing the word.

00:21:14.140 --> 00:21:20.140
That goes, doesn't matter how full of grace and giftedness you are.

00:21:20.140 --> 00:21:25.140
This is what God wants to create.

00:21:25.140 --> 00:21:32.140
And this church years ago, maybe four years ago I think, was given a promise from God saying,

00:21:32.140 --> 00:21:38.140
listen, there was a revival called the Hebrides revival that happened 70 or 75 years ago.

00:21:38.140 --> 00:21:46.140
Where 20s and 30s were completely changed, sheerly by the Holy Spirit.

00:21:46.140 --> 00:21:51.140
I guess who was behind the revival? Who started it?

00:21:51.140 --> 00:21:57.140
One lady called Peggy and the other lady called, let's name her Sue.

00:21:57.140 --> 00:22:00.140
I don't think it's Sue, but let's just call her Sue.

00:22:00.140 --> 00:22:02.140
Peggy and someone. Peggy and Christine.

00:22:03.140 --> 00:22:08.140
Two really old ladies in their 84 or 85s.

00:22:08.140 --> 00:22:14.140
You know what they did? They kept praying, oh God, this place is so dry.

00:22:14.140 --> 00:22:17.140
But you have said that you're going to revive the young.

00:22:17.140 --> 00:22:20.140
And they would pray day in, day out, day in, day out, day in, day out.

00:22:20.140 --> 00:22:23.140
That's all. Two of them praying for years on end.

00:22:23.140 --> 00:22:27.140
This was not a prayer meeting kind of prayer. It was the Anna kind of prayer.

00:22:27.140 --> 00:22:32.140
If you read Luke chapter two, Anna was a woman who was married for seven years.

00:22:32.140 --> 00:22:35.140
And her husband died after seven years of marriage.

00:22:35.140 --> 00:22:39.140
And it says for 84 years after that, she would come to the temple every day.

00:22:39.140 --> 00:22:43.140
And she would fast and pray. What kind of people are these, man?

00:22:43.140 --> 00:22:47.140
84 years every day?

00:22:47.140 --> 00:22:52.140
So when she finally comes and meets Mary and Jesus, the little boy,

00:22:52.140 --> 00:22:56.140
she's already, what, 100 and something?

00:22:56.140 --> 00:22:59.140
Because she must have married at 16?

00:22:59.140 --> 00:23:04.140
23? 103? 107 years old at least.

00:23:07.140 --> 00:23:10.140
So Peggy and Christine pray and the revival starts.

00:23:10.140 --> 00:23:12.140
And then they invite a pastor.

00:23:12.140 --> 00:23:15.140
And when the pastor comes, his name is Paul.

00:23:15.140 --> 00:23:18.140
And then the pastor comes, his name is Campbell.

00:23:18.140 --> 00:23:21.140
Campbell is older than me.

00:23:21.140 --> 00:23:24.140
He comes. The guys who started that revival are,

00:23:24.140 --> 00:23:29.140
revivals always start on the shoulders of older people.

00:23:32.140 --> 00:23:35.140
All revivals, you take any revival in the world,

00:23:35.140 --> 00:23:39.140
it has always started on the shoulders of older people.

00:23:39.140 --> 00:23:44.140
And then it breaks up.

00:23:44.140 --> 00:23:48.140
When Campbell comes to preach, they look at him and say,

00:23:48.140 --> 00:23:52.140
we hope you're the right man, because we've been praying long.

00:23:52.140 --> 00:23:55.140
And if you're not the right man, we will know.

00:23:55.140 --> 00:23:57.140
And then he's already scared.

00:23:57.140 --> 00:24:01.140
He goes and starts preaching, but it had nothing to do with his preaching, man.

00:24:01.140 --> 00:24:04.140
The Spirit of God comes down.

00:24:04.140 --> 00:24:07.140
And that village knows the revival for two years.

00:24:07.140 --> 00:24:10.140
Some of us went there. Fabulous. Where's Betty?

00:24:10.140 --> 00:24:13.140
Oh, Betty was there. Okay, Sunday school.

00:24:17.140 --> 00:24:22.140
So we are charged now with igniting a global revival

00:24:22.140 --> 00:24:31.140
called Hebrides 2.0 amongst the 20s and the 30s.

00:24:31.140 --> 00:24:36.140
And where do we start? In Richmond.

00:24:36.140 --> 00:24:42.140
How old am I? 60. That's nuts.

00:24:45.140 --> 00:24:48.140
But this is how God works, eh?

00:24:48.140 --> 00:24:54.140
So if you're older than 45 or 50, let's just use Dilna as a marker.

00:24:54.140 --> 00:24:58.140
If you're older than Dilna, that just covers, we don't have to go numbers.

00:24:58.140 --> 00:25:01.140
We don't know how old Dilna is, so it could be anything.

00:25:01.140 --> 00:25:07.140
So if you're Dilna's age or older than Dilna, then sign up, man.

00:25:07.140 --> 00:25:11.140
Because without you, this does not happen.

00:25:11.140 --> 00:25:15.140
And you can't keep away.

00:25:15.140 --> 00:25:18.140
This is how this works.

00:25:18.140 --> 00:25:23.140
May we never get to a point where we say to ones that are 50 or older,

00:25:23.140 --> 00:25:26.140
or your job is to sit at home and pray.

00:25:26.140 --> 00:25:29.140
That's the other thing that happens in churches, eh?

00:25:29.140 --> 00:25:33.140
As soon as you become a senior or 50 plus or anything,

00:25:33.140 --> 00:25:38.140
you are relegated to the ranks of sit and pray.

00:25:38.140 --> 00:25:42.140
Some annas exist, but not everybody is Anna.

00:25:42.140 --> 00:25:44.140
There are so many other things to do.

00:25:44.140 --> 00:25:47.140
And we'll talk about how.

00:25:47.140 --> 00:25:49.140
Look at Anna. We already talked about it.

00:25:49.140 --> 00:25:51.140
Look at Joshua. Where do you start?

00:25:51.140 --> 00:25:53.140
Where did Joshua start?

00:25:53.140 --> 00:25:55.140
Where did Moses start?

00:25:55.140 --> 00:25:59.140
They all started by doing whatever came their way.

00:25:59.140 --> 00:26:00.140
What was Joshua's thing?

00:26:00.140 --> 00:26:04.140
Joshua's thing was to just make sure that he hung around with someone older.

00:26:04.140 --> 00:26:06.140
That he hung around with someone older.

00:26:06.140 --> 00:26:11.140
He hung around with a man who was 120.

00:26:11.140 --> 00:26:16.140
And it says of that man, Moses, in Deuteronomy 34, verse 7,

00:26:16.140 --> 00:26:18.140
it says, his eyes were not dim,

00:26:18.140 --> 00:26:22.140
and his vigor or the force of life had not abated.

00:26:22.140 --> 00:26:26.140
Yet it had gotten to a point in Deuteronomy 31, verse 2,

00:26:26.140 --> 00:26:28.140
where it says, Moses said,

00:26:28.140 --> 00:26:31.140
listen, I can't take you out for battle and bring you back.

00:26:31.140 --> 00:26:33.140
Yes, I have vigor.

00:26:33.140 --> 00:26:34.140
Yes, my eyes haven't dimmed,

00:26:34.140 --> 00:26:37.140
but I can't take you out for battle and bring you back.

00:26:37.140 --> 00:26:38.140
Yes, I have vigor.

00:26:38.140 --> 00:26:40.140
Yes, my eyes haven't dimmed,

00:26:40.140 --> 00:26:42.140
but I can't take you out for battle and bring you back.

00:26:42.140 --> 00:26:44.140
So why don't you call Joshua?

00:26:44.140 --> 00:26:48.140
And I'll appoint him to go out and come in.

00:26:48.140 --> 00:26:53.140
This works so smoothly, guys.

00:26:53.140 --> 00:26:56.140
I would like to say to those that are 50 and above in this church,

00:26:56.140 --> 00:26:59.140
because this message is particularly tailored for you,

00:26:59.140 --> 00:27:01.140
but it does include the young one,

00:27:01.140 --> 00:27:05.140
that the young ones in this church are not discriminatory.

00:27:05.140 --> 00:27:09.140
If anything, they have open arms.

00:27:09.140 --> 00:27:11.140
And so after this teaching,

00:27:11.140 --> 00:27:14.140
we will have to discover what it is that God wants us to do

00:27:14.140 --> 00:27:16.140
in the context of what God is doing in this church

00:27:16.140 --> 00:27:21.140
and in the world through this church.

00:27:21.140 --> 00:27:25.140
These are not young brats who have their noses in the air

00:27:25.140 --> 00:27:31.140
and pretend like they'll never die.

00:27:31.140 --> 00:27:34.140
So the onus today through this teaching

00:27:34.140 --> 00:27:39.140
is on the ones that are more than 50.

00:27:39.140 --> 00:27:43.140
It's not a rebuke, it's just an onus.

00:27:43.140 --> 00:27:45.140
Yeah?

00:27:45.140 --> 00:27:48.140
Okay, so here are some ways to stay fruitful.

00:27:48.140 --> 00:27:52.140
First one, who do you want to be?

00:27:52.140 --> 00:27:57.140
Barzilai or Caleb?

00:27:57.140 --> 00:27:59.140
So let's look at both of them.

00:27:59.140 --> 00:28:09.140
Barzilai, 2 Samuel 19, 2 Samuel 19, 2 Samuel 19.

00:28:09.140 --> 00:28:13.140
Hey, Moses also, I mean, when Moses says,

00:28:13.140 --> 00:28:15.140
I can't go out and come in, it's like saying,

00:28:15.140 --> 00:28:19.140
hey, I can't drive at night or I can't drive long distances.

00:28:19.140 --> 00:28:20.140
That's completely okay.

00:28:20.140 --> 00:28:23.140
That does not take away from what God wants to do

00:28:23.140 --> 00:28:25.140
in a church like this.

00:28:25.140 --> 00:28:33.140
2 Samuel 19, 2 Samuel 19, verse 32.

00:28:33.140 --> 00:28:38.140
And then we look at Caleb, Joshua 14, 12.

00:28:38.140 --> 00:28:39.140
Yeah?

00:28:39.140 --> 00:28:40.140
So let's read that.

00:28:40.140 --> 00:28:47.140
2 Samuel 19, 32.

00:28:47.140 --> 00:28:52.140
2 Samuel 19, 32.

00:28:52.140 --> 00:28:53.140
Here goes.

00:28:53.140 --> 00:28:56.140
Barzilai was a very aged man, 80 years old.

00:28:56.140 --> 00:28:59.140
He had provided the king with food while he was staying in Mahanaim,

00:28:59.140 --> 00:29:01.140
for he was a very wealthy man.

00:29:01.140 --> 00:29:03.140
And the king said to Barzilai, come over with me,

00:29:03.140 --> 00:29:06.140
and I'll provide for you with me in Jerusalem.

00:29:06.140 --> 00:29:10.140
But Barzilai said to the king, how many years have I still to live

00:29:10.140 --> 00:29:13.140
that I should go up with the king to Jerusalem?

00:29:13.140 --> 00:29:15.140
I am this day 80 years old.

00:29:15.140 --> 00:29:17.140
Can I discern what is pleasant or what is not?

00:29:17.140 --> 00:29:20.140
Can your servant taste what he eats or what he drinks?

00:29:20.140 --> 00:29:23.140
Can I still listen to the voice of singing men and singing women?

00:29:23.140 --> 00:29:27.140
Why then should your servant be an added burden to the law of the king?

00:29:27.140 --> 00:29:29.140
Your servant will go a little way,

00:29:29.140 --> 00:29:32.140
and then why should the king repay me with such a reward?

00:29:32.140 --> 00:29:35.140
Why don't you take my servant with you, Chimham?

00:29:35.140 --> 00:29:36.140
That's Barzilai.

00:29:36.140 --> 00:29:38.140
Now let's look at Caleb.

00:29:38.140 --> 00:29:43.140
Joshua, chapter 14, verse 12.

00:29:43.140 --> 00:29:45.140
Here's a crazy thing.

00:29:45.140 --> 00:29:49.140
Joshua's four years older.

00:29:49.140 --> 00:29:52.140
And now behold, Joshua 14, verse 10.

00:29:52.140 --> 00:29:54.140
And now behold, the Lord has kept me alive,

00:29:54.140 --> 00:29:56.140
just as he said these 45 years,

00:29:56.140 --> 00:30:00.140
since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses,

00:30:00.140 --> 00:30:02.140
while Israel walked in the wilderness.

00:30:02.140 --> 00:30:05.140
And now behold, I am this day 85 years old, five years older.

00:30:05.140 --> 00:30:09.140
I'm still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me.

00:30:09.140 --> 00:30:12.140
My strength now is as my strength was then,

00:30:12.140 --> 00:30:14.140
for war and for going and coming.

00:30:14.140 --> 00:30:18.140
So now, give me this hill country of which the Lord spoke on that day,

00:30:18.140 --> 00:30:20.140
for you heard that day how the Anakim were there,

00:30:20.140 --> 00:30:22.140
with great fortified cities.

00:30:22.140 --> 00:30:24.140
It may be that the Lord will be with me,

00:30:24.140 --> 00:30:26.140
and I shall drive them out, just as the Lord said.

00:30:26.140 --> 00:30:29.140
Joshua blessed him, and he gave Hebron to Caleb,

00:30:29.140 --> 00:30:31.140
the son of Jephaniah, as an inheritance.

00:30:31.140 --> 00:30:36.140
Two men, 180, 185.

00:30:36.140 --> 00:30:38.140
Both given an opportunity.

00:30:38.140 --> 00:30:44.140
One, to have the proximity and the trust of the king of Israel,

00:30:44.140 --> 00:30:49.140
and the other to just take land, but he wants land where the Anak dwell.

00:30:49.140 --> 00:30:54.140
So what's the first, what's the striking difference here,

00:30:54.140 --> 00:31:00.140
and what is it that will allow us as we get older to be fruitful?

00:31:00.140 --> 00:31:06.140
One, examine unfulfilled promises in your life.

00:31:06.140 --> 00:31:10.140
Unfulfilled promises in your life.

00:31:10.140 --> 00:31:15.140
Examine unfulfilled promises in your life.

00:31:15.140 --> 00:31:19.140
Ancient paths that you were promised.

00:31:19.140 --> 00:31:23.140
Doors that you were supposed to open.

00:31:23.140 --> 00:31:31.140
Appointments that were meant for you to keep here on earth from God.

00:31:31.140 --> 00:31:35.140
What are the promises of God that you remember?

00:31:35.140 --> 00:31:37.140
That were told you 30 years ago, 40 years ago,

00:31:37.140 --> 00:31:41.140
What are those promises?

00:31:41.140 --> 00:31:45.140
Caleb lives because he has something to do.

00:31:45.140 --> 00:31:51.140
You take away purpose from life, and life must retire.

00:31:51.140 --> 00:31:54.140
And here's the crazy thing.

00:31:54.140 --> 00:32:00.140
God deliberately gives us promises for the future that remain unfulfilled,

00:32:00.140 --> 00:32:04.140
so that we can continuously press towards getting them done.

00:32:04.140 --> 00:32:06.140
I love what Simeon says in Luke chapter 2.

00:32:06.140 --> 00:32:13.140
He says, I have waited all these years to see the consolation of Israel.

00:32:13.140 --> 00:32:18.140
I finally, my eyes have seen the King, and now I can die.

00:32:18.140 --> 00:32:21.140
Till then, he would not die.

00:32:21.140 --> 00:32:25.140
That's a strange statement to make, but Simeon would not die.

00:32:25.140 --> 00:32:30.140
Because there was a promise given to him that you will see the consolation of Israel.

00:32:30.140 --> 00:32:32.140
That you will see the Savior.

00:32:32.140 --> 00:32:36.140
And that man knew that till I see the Savior, I will not die.

00:32:36.140 --> 00:32:43.140
What do you have that keeps you alive every morning because it still has to be done?

00:32:43.140 --> 00:32:46.140
And some of these promises are given when you're their age.

00:32:46.140 --> 00:32:48.140
And you've got to hold on to it.

00:32:48.140 --> 00:32:52.140
Because some of those promises are not long in happening.

00:32:52.140 --> 00:32:59.140
They are deliberately given on a future date so that you can keep living.

00:33:00.140 --> 00:33:06.140
Samson, that guy is blinded.

00:33:06.140 --> 00:33:08.140
But he knows what he was called for.

00:33:08.140 --> 00:33:09.140
And what does he do?

00:33:09.140 --> 00:33:12.140
He puts both his hands on the pillars and he says,

00:33:12.140 --> 00:33:16.140
Oh God, one more time, one more time, return my strength to me.

00:33:16.140 --> 00:33:19.140
Because he knew. He knew he would die.

00:33:19.140 --> 00:33:22.140
But he also knew his destiny.

00:33:22.140 --> 00:33:27.140
Anybody here that is over 50 that does not know purpose or destiny must find it.

00:33:27.140 --> 00:33:30.140
And we can help you, I can help you.

00:33:30.140 --> 00:33:31.140
But you must find it.

00:33:31.140 --> 00:33:36.140
Because if you don't find it, what will you wake up for when you turn 65?

00:33:36.140 --> 00:33:38.140
Your retirement?

00:33:41.140 --> 00:33:45.140
Then it doesn't matter whether your spouse is alive or your spouse has passed on.

00:33:45.140 --> 00:33:49.140
You still have greater purpose than your spouse.

00:33:49.140 --> 00:33:52.140
This is important guys.

00:33:52.140 --> 00:33:59.140
I'll have to really screw up to leave the earth.

00:33:59.140 --> 00:34:05.140
As in I'll have to really sin, really mess up, really turn my ways away from God.

00:34:05.140 --> 00:34:10.140
Otherwise, I got enough unfulfilled promises to live a few years.

00:34:10.140 --> 00:34:14.140
God invites ones that are over 50 to race with horses.

00:34:14.140 --> 00:34:17.140
So he can keep you spiritually strong.

00:34:17.140 --> 00:34:20.140
Don't think that he's going to give you a challenge that is easy.

00:34:20.140 --> 00:34:29.140
He's going to give you a numberto fight your problem and you have to play a few γιαения come on.

00:34:35.140 --> 00:34:39.140
Let's see.

00:34:39.140 --> 00:34:43.720
He's going to give you a challenge that will make those feeble muscles strong again

00:34:46.080 --> 00:34:49.120
Nothing gets easier as you grow older

00:34:50.520 --> 00:34:55.720
If from God I'm saying because he knows you now have the wisdom and the experience

00:34:56.080 --> 00:35:02.980
And the know-how of how to operate in your grace and gifts to do things that will take power in 20 years

00:35:02.980 --> 00:35:05.220
And will take you only 15 years or 10 years

00:35:09.540 --> 00:35:16.100
We're not talking about ministry please perish this idea of ministry

00:35:18.060 --> 00:35:20.660
Ministry is an extension of the grace and the gifts you have

00:35:20.900 --> 00:35:27.820
Discover the purpose and the grace and the gifts and ministry flows discover ministry and you're stuck doing the same thing over and over again

00:35:27.820 --> 00:35:33.360
And you don't even recognize that God is changing the gifts that he gave you and the grace that he gave you

00:35:40.140 --> 00:35:43.760
As I age purpose and life are connected

00:35:44.340 --> 00:35:51.180
God keeps leading me into new rooms. You should read Psalm 92 verse 12 Psalm 92 verse 12

00:35:51.940 --> 00:35:54.060
Psalm 92 verse 12

00:35:57.540 --> 00:35:59.460
I'll read it from the message

00:35:59.460 --> 00:36:06.700
Psalm 92 verse 12 good people will prosper like palm trees grow tall like Lebanon cedars now. I'll read it from the NIV

00:36:06.820 --> 00:36:08.900
The righteous will flourish like a palm tree

00:36:08.900 --> 00:36:12.020
They will grow like a cedar of Lebanon planted in the house of the Lord

00:36:12.020 --> 00:36:16.600
They will still bear fruit in old age. They will stay fresh and green

00:36:17.220 --> 00:36:18.220
92 14

00:36:18.220 --> 00:36:20.220
That's where it is

00:36:24.500 --> 00:36:26.500
That's how God made us

00:36:26.500 --> 00:36:30.300
Here's the thing guys that is how God made us

00:36:30.900 --> 00:36:33.860
He made us to be plants that flourish and our

00:36:34.180 --> 00:36:35.660
Virile and

00:36:35.660 --> 00:36:39.260
Vibrant as we grow older that is how he made us

00:36:39.820 --> 00:36:43.220
It's not even a matter of faith. It is how he made us

00:36:43.780 --> 00:36:45.460
What is within me?

00:36:45.460 --> 00:36:50.380
Paul said this himself a Paul probably was old enough and beaten up enough

00:36:50.380 --> 00:36:55.860
He had been stoned to a point where he was dead. He carried on his body marks and wounds of

00:36:56.500 --> 00:37:02.180
Severe persecution, but he says that even though the outer man is decaying and wearing away

00:37:02.180 --> 00:37:09.100
The inner man gets stronger and if the inner man gets stronger then trust me wisdom will flow

00:37:13.460 --> 00:37:15.460
Jesus put it this way in

00:37:15.460 --> 00:37:18.700
Luke 7 40 issue thereabouts. He said

00:37:19.420 --> 00:37:21.420
Wisdom is vindicated by her children

00:37:22.300 --> 00:37:27.100
wisdom is vindicated by her children meaning if you have

00:37:27.260 --> 00:37:32.220
Wisdom it will show and people will say there goes the wise one

00:37:41.660 --> 00:37:44.620
The inner man can only get stronger

00:37:47.020 --> 00:37:50.140
Not one mention in the Bible in a man

00:37:50.140 --> 00:37:59.260
Now you know why Joni Eriksson Tata is the way she is now, you know, how why what's the other guy Nick I

00:37:59.900 --> 00:38:03.300
Don't know how to pronounce his last name. He has no limbs

00:38:05.420 --> 00:38:07.420
Nick we use something

00:38:08.060 --> 00:38:09.380
Nick Wojcik

00:38:09.380 --> 00:38:11.380
Does not have any limbs

00:38:11.940 --> 00:38:13.940
He has no limbs

00:38:14.940 --> 00:38:16.940
Nick we use something

00:38:17.740 --> 00:38:23.740
Nick Wojcik does not have limbs, but the inner man of that man keeps going stronger

00:38:29.420 --> 00:38:37.460
As I eat some 27 one is something that I shouldn't let go of light zest space

00:38:38.420 --> 00:38:42.220
As I age I must locate myself in what God is doing

00:38:43.260 --> 00:38:47.860
What is God doing in this church? If you're part of this church, what is God doing in this church?

00:38:48.100 --> 00:38:50.100
Wrestle with it to wear it

00:38:50.900 --> 00:38:55.060
Wrestle with it ask for what you want like Joshua. You have earned it

00:38:55.700 --> 00:38:57.460
Develop foresight

00:38:57.460 --> 00:38:59.460
You're not looking for a ministry opportunity

00:38:59.700 --> 00:39:06.820
You're looking for the ability to develop foresight to wear what God is doing so that when he takes you to the church

00:39:06.820 --> 00:39:13.540
When he tells you to do anything in the context you are able to rise up to it ask for it

00:39:17.700 --> 00:39:23.540
One of the things we need in this church and in any church so I'm not saying we are deficient in it we need

00:39:24.540 --> 00:39:26.540
sages

00:39:27.940 --> 00:39:31.260
Sages are spiritually mature spiritually mature

00:39:32.700 --> 00:39:34.940
They are age mature

00:39:37.820 --> 00:39:39.820
They are gift mature

00:39:43.340 --> 00:39:45.940
They are experientially mature

00:39:47.700 --> 00:39:50.740
Sages we need these

00:39:55.540 --> 00:40:01.700
In Proverbs 16 verse 31 it says wisdom is one through a righteous life

00:40:02.260 --> 00:40:08.060
Here's a catch if these guys live a life that is righteous when they turn 50

00:40:09.060 --> 00:40:10.660
wisdom

00:40:10.660 --> 00:40:16.620
Will mature in them because they lived a righteous life some of us that are old now did not live a righteous life

00:40:17.300 --> 00:40:21.300
But that doesn't mean we stop now. We break up fallow ground and we start as soon as we can

00:40:24.260 --> 00:40:27.220
So do not look for how can I be involved

00:40:27.780 --> 00:40:30.300
Look for oh god, this is what you're doing

00:40:30.820 --> 00:40:36.540
What am I supposed to do and if it is I do different things on different days?

00:40:36.540 --> 00:40:40.920
So be it if it is I do the same thing for 84 years. So be it

00:40:46.140 --> 00:40:54.300
Because I can't call someone who is my age this is my excuse always to help Sheldon pull stuff like this

00:40:57.620 --> 00:41:01.500
He's been trying desperately to lower his age he finally got an in

00:41:07.220 --> 00:41:11.940
So there are some things that may not be open to us, but what God is doing you can buy into

00:41:16.500 --> 00:41:20.020
Let's assume I was in another church where I'm not the pastor and part of the church

00:41:20.020 --> 00:41:25.820
And I know what's happening that as a pastor you might say oh well, but it's not fair you don't know

00:41:26.140 --> 00:41:30.100
How hard it is and stuff like that I've been in churches where I was not the pastor

00:41:30.100 --> 00:41:34.980
But I was involved in the movement in that church and my only thing as I sit in front of well

00:41:34.980 --> 00:41:36.980
God what are you doing here?

00:41:36.980 --> 00:41:40.180
And based on the grace that I have and the gifts that I carry

00:41:40.500 --> 00:41:46.100
Based on the experience that I have and the age that I am right now based on the spiritual maturity that I have

00:41:46.100 --> 00:41:52.100
Had a track record for now. Oh God. Could you show me how I can be involved in?

00:41:52.300 --> 00:41:54.300
What is happening in this church?

00:41:54.780 --> 00:41:58.900
And when God begins to show me I'll go up to the pastor or go up to the leader

00:41:58.900 --> 00:42:04.060
And I say this is what I was thinking and if what I say is wise

00:42:04.620 --> 00:42:08.380
Usually it has only two reactions happening either they accept it or they reject it

00:42:11.540 --> 00:42:14.260
I'm not looking for a opportunity to preach

00:42:18.820 --> 00:42:21.820
There's nobody here who can say I'm not going to be a pastor

00:42:22.100 --> 00:42:24.100
Who can't do that?

00:42:26.180 --> 00:42:28.180
Let me pause and ask if you have any questions

00:42:34.340 --> 00:42:36.340
Off

00:42:36.940 --> 00:42:39.580
Okay, so let's take an example of

00:42:41.460 --> 00:42:46.900
What's happening at acts 29 so you know that one of our targets is Richmond

00:42:47.380 --> 00:42:53.660
That our hope is that the 20s and the 30s will be somehow satellite, but here's the question I want to ask you

00:42:54.420 --> 00:42:56.260
and I'm asking

00:42:56.260 --> 00:43:01.660
Let's say 45s and above how many days have you spent in the last one year?

00:43:03.780 --> 00:43:10.460
Agonizing over what needs to be done in Richmond so that this promise bursts into flames

00:43:10.500 --> 00:43:12.500
The

00:43:15.020 --> 00:43:18.540
Easy part is going on a walk and pray

00:43:19.100 --> 00:43:26.220
The hard part is oh god. I want to wrap myself in this promise cause something

00:43:26.860 --> 00:43:28.860
Within me to rise up

00:43:29.540 --> 00:43:35.700
Had I begin to live and breathe this thing I may not even see its completion, but let me see the start

00:43:35.700 --> 00:43:41.020
We plan all our futures like this we are already thinking of how to save up for our kids education

00:43:44.460 --> 00:43:48.740
Not knowing that 10 years from now it'll be all robots and the kids will be playing hockey

00:43:49.220 --> 00:43:51.220
My ass will teach them ice hockey

00:43:51.860 --> 00:43:53.860
Sette can help you skate

00:43:54.380 --> 00:43:58.860
Sorry that was completely unnecessary completely unnecessary. Yeah

00:43:59.660 --> 00:44:01.660
But it was funny

00:44:01.660 --> 00:44:07.980
So that's an example from that will come things from that arises things

00:44:11.020 --> 00:44:15.060
I'm not saying some of you don't agonize over it, but I'm saying is that the agony?

00:44:18.620 --> 00:44:21.300
Guys the Sunday service is the easiest thing to do

00:44:22.180 --> 00:44:24.180
It's the easiest thing to do

00:44:24.220 --> 00:44:26.220
Is that the agony

00:44:28.460 --> 00:44:33.420
Guys the Sunday service is the easiest thing to do because nobody here practices

00:44:35.140 --> 00:44:37.140
You saw how Nellie came up

00:44:38.580 --> 00:44:44.660
Toony never practices this service is not the church. This is just an activity of the church

00:44:44.660 --> 00:44:49.160
It's an event of the church. There are far greater things that have been given to this church to do

00:44:50.540 --> 00:44:52.540
That is where

00:44:52.940 --> 00:44:55.900
CPR must happen Christ people what is the third one?

00:44:57.820 --> 00:44:59.820
Crystal I

00:45:01.020 --> 00:45:06.780
Asked these young adults on Friday to name their groups this group sitting here named until CPR and

00:45:07.260 --> 00:45:14.220
It means Christ people restore and if you have time we'll do a skit. They'll do it in front of you. It was very funny

00:45:14.220 --> 00:45:18.220
What should wisdom look like you might ask so if

00:45:18.940 --> 00:45:25.180
We are say this what should wisdom look like thank God the Bible answers it go to Proverbs 8 12 to 16

00:45:25.980 --> 00:45:27.980
Proverbs 8 12 to 16

00:45:28.820 --> 00:45:30.820
Proverbs 8 12 to 16

00:45:37.180 --> 00:45:39.180
Proverbs 8 12 to 16

00:45:44.220 --> 00:45:46.220
I

00:45:50.860 --> 00:45:52.860
Wisdom

00:45:53.380 --> 00:45:55.380
Dwell together with prudence

00:45:56.860 --> 00:46:00.780
My wisdom possess knowledge and discretion

00:46:02.180 --> 00:46:04.180
To fear the Lord is to hate the evil

00:46:04.900 --> 00:46:07.900
This is wisdom still talking. I hate pride and arrogance

00:46:09.020 --> 00:46:11.020
evil behavior and perverse speech

00:46:12.020 --> 00:46:18.000
Council and sound judgment are mine I have insight I have power

00:46:19.060 --> 00:46:24.780
Hey, if you're over 50 in the next five years that people say that of you and I

00:46:27.780 --> 00:46:33.220
Then we don't need a seat at we won't need a seat at the table, but we'll have tremendous influence

00:46:33.220 --> 00:46:40.220
Job 29, it's one of my favorite chapters got a job 29

00:46:51.140 --> 00:46:52.340
I

00:46:52.340 --> 00:46:54.340
Love this

00:46:54.340 --> 00:46:58.580
May this define every 50 plus here listen to this

00:46:58.620 --> 00:47:00.620
Job 29 was

00:47:01.340 --> 00:47:03.340
seven onwards

00:47:03.340 --> 00:47:07.420
When I went to the gate of the city and took my seat in the public square

00:47:07.420 --> 00:47:13.900
The young men saw me and steps stepped aside the old men rose to their feet the chief men

00:47:14.380 --> 00:47:17.860
Refrain from speaking and covered their mouths with their hands

00:47:17.860 --> 00:47:20.940
Why because they knew wisdom was in their presence

00:47:21.180 --> 00:47:25.020
The voices of the nobles were hushed and the tongue stuck to the roof of their mouth

00:47:25.180 --> 00:47:28.680
The voices of the nobles were hushed and the tongue stuck to the roof of their mouths

00:47:29.060 --> 00:47:36.140
whoever heard me spoke well of me those who saw me commended me because now the the the

00:47:36.860 --> 00:47:38.700
enacting of wisdom

00:47:38.700 --> 00:47:43.620
Because I rescued the poor who cried for help the fatherless who had none to assist them

00:47:43.660 --> 00:47:48.660
The one who was dying blessed me. I made the widow's heart sing pure religion

00:47:49.340 --> 00:47:54.560
According to James I put on righteousness as my clothing justice was my robe and my turban

00:47:54.560 --> 00:47:58.360
I was eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. I was a father to the needy

00:47:58.360 --> 00:48:04.720
I took up the case of the stranger. I broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched snatched the victims from the teeth

00:48:05.720 --> 00:48:08.200
That is what it looks like

00:48:10.400 --> 00:48:15.020
That should be the aspiration of every human being or every believer for sure

00:48:15.020 --> 00:48:19.240
But it absolutely has to be the aspiration of those that are 50 or so

00:48:24.560 --> 00:48:26.560
Let's look at one more scripture

00:48:27.640 --> 00:48:34.040
I know it's okay. Here's another thing that will keep you fruitful a deep a

00:48:35.240 --> 00:48:39.040
deep desire to leave a legacy a

00:48:39.840 --> 00:48:42.160
deep desire to leave a legacy a

00:48:43.000 --> 00:48:45.000
deep desire to leave a legacy a

00:48:46.280 --> 00:48:48.280
deep desire to leave a legacy a

00:48:49.120 --> 00:48:51.120
legacy that can be transmitted

00:48:51.440 --> 00:48:55.440
A legacy that can be transmitted as in

00:48:56.080 --> 00:48:59.600
Given to somebody a legacy that can be inherited by someone

00:49:00.720 --> 00:49:08.600
Transmitted to someone inherited by someone improved by the generations ahead improved by those by the generations ahead

00:49:11.120 --> 00:49:13.120
Those scriptures give

00:49:14.400 --> 00:49:19.760
Strength to this yes, go to Psalm 71 verse 17 Psalm 71 verse 17

00:49:19.880 --> 00:49:22.600
Let me write down the three scriptures Psalm 71

00:49:23.600 --> 00:49:25.600
17

00:49:26.560 --> 00:49:28.560
Psalm 48 13

00:49:29.120 --> 00:49:35.000
1st Chronicles 22 21st Chronicles 29 2 let's look at them

00:49:36.920 --> 00:49:38.920
Psalm 71

00:49:39.440 --> 00:49:41.440
Since

00:49:46.320 --> 00:49:52.160
My youth God you have taught me and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds

00:49:53.040 --> 00:49:57.880
Even when I am old and gray do not forsake me my God till when?

00:49:58.320 --> 00:50:06.120
Till I declare your power to the next generation your mighty acts to all who are to come

00:50:06.120 --> 00:50:07.560
Come on, man

00:50:07.560 --> 00:50:09.560
How can we die without this?

00:50:13.880 --> 00:50:17.920
This is how things are passed on like we said four or five weeks ago

00:50:17.920 --> 00:50:22.400
If you can get four generations that you can pass things on to like Paul said

00:50:23.040 --> 00:50:28.720
To Timothy Timothy what I teach you deposit in faithful men so that they can teach others for generations

00:50:28.720 --> 00:50:32.640
You get that and you have whatever God wants to establish

00:50:34.640 --> 00:50:36.720
Look at the next one Psalm 48

00:50:37.720 --> 00:50:39.720
Psalm 48

00:50:41.680 --> 00:50:43.680
Words 13 I

00:50:45.680 --> 00:50:47.680
Love this

00:50:48.160 --> 00:50:54.000
Walk about Zion. It's talking about the people of God the church walk about Zion go around countertowers consider

00:50:54.000 --> 00:50:59.400
Well her ramparts view her citadels that you may tell of them to the next generation

00:50:59.840 --> 00:51:04.200
For this God is our God forever and he'll be a guide even to the end

00:51:04.200 --> 00:51:07.680
It is important that we pass on what you're learning right now

00:51:09.280 --> 00:51:11.840
Because the next generation is only 12 to 14 years away

00:51:14.320 --> 00:51:21.160
Next one first Chronicles 29 to you see someone who actually worked this out first Chronicles 29 to

00:51:25.600 --> 00:51:28.920
David and he's provided everything with all my resources

00:51:28.920 --> 00:51:34.840
I have provided for the temple of my God gold for gold what silver for silver bronze for bronze iron for iron wood for wood

00:51:34.840 --> 00:51:41.600
As well as onyx for the settings turquoise stones of various colors all kinds of fine stone and marble all this in large quantities

00:51:43.200 --> 00:51:45.760
Hey, we do this when our kids want to buy a house

00:51:48.360 --> 00:51:54.400
If you as a parent have gathered enough and you have a house and your kid is now wanting to move out of home

00:51:55.000 --> 00:51:56.840
You first go

00:51:56.840 --> 00:52:00.000
And then you help them because they have no idea what they're getting into

00:52:02.320 --> 00:52:07.680
But the same way that we do it for our children is what we knew need to do for our children

00:52:11.320 --> 00:52:13.320
Any questions before we move on

00:52:15.680 --> 00:52:22.680
You can't develop a desire to leave a legacy without taking your eyes off your own impotency

00:52:23.040 --> 00:52:27.240
Can you imagine Abraham stuck with his impotency you think he could ever leave a legacy

00:52:29.480 --> 00:52:33.800
Everybody here is important or bankrupt. It is a grace of God that makes us potent

00:52:34.440 --> 00:52:37.040
So it's not like there are some special here that are not

00:52:37.960 --> 00:52:43.400
Important all of us are it is just the sheer grace of God, but that grace has to be conveyed forward

00:52:44.440 --> 00:52:46.440
Some may receive it some may not

00:52:47.080 --> 00:52:49.960
But I have to take my eyes off my outer impotency

00:52:50.760 --> 00:52:55.600
The failures that have happened in my past and my resource reserve reserve

00:52:55.720 --> 00:53:02.440
one of the things that happens to anyone who is over 55 and is nearing 65 is your eyes are locked on your

00:53:02.560 --> 00:53:05.880
Bank account because you don't know how you're gonna survive once

00:53:06.680 --> 00:53:12.300
65 hits because like we have discovered Malachi 4 7 says what when you turn 65

00:53:12.300 --> 00:53:19.820
I shall abandon thee and therefore to prevent that we start locking our sorry just in case you thought that was true

00:53:19.820 --> 00:53:21.820
It's not here

00:53:21.980 --> 00:53:29.620
So we have to understand that as we get older one of the most detrimental things is to lock your eyes on

00:53:29.980 --> 00:53:31.980
your resource reserve

00:53:34.580 --> 00:53:36.580
You've seen your parents do it

00:53:38.100 --> 00:53:40.100
And you don't have to do

00:53:40.380 --> 00:53:48.420
But how do you get there if you didn't start when you were actually he's quite old when you were Jonathan's age

00:53:50.180 --> 00:53:52.180
Sorry to Shalty you just look young

00:53:57.780 --> 00:53:59.780
Any questions

00:54:01.700 --> 00:54:07.180
Don't worry, I won't go as long as I did last week I apologize kind of

00:54:10.580 --> 00:54:17.580
You should never have to step aside because you're old you should step aside because your sons are mature

00:54:20.260 --> 00:54:27.300
You should never have to step aside because you're old there are things that might affect your mobility affect your ability to stay up till

00:54:27.620 --> 00:54:31.300
12 o'clock eating five plates of french fries at White Spot

00:54:32.900 --> 00:54:38.700
That's not what we are talking about we're talking about you should never step aside because you're old you should step aside

00:54:38.860 --> 00:54:41.740
Because you're old you should step aside because you have sons that are mature

00:54:43.580 --> 00:54:45.580
So prepare for your legacy years they

00:54:46.260 --> 00:54:49.100
You know the strange thing is if you prepare for your legacy years

00:54:49.340 --> 00:54:54.860
Your sons will carry your bones to the promised land and every time they look at your bones. They will say man I

00:54:55.780 --> 00:55:00.820
Expect amazing things to happen because I know how this man or this woman lived. It's crazy

00:55:00.820 --> 00:55:03.220
Eddie used to stand here and

00:55:03.740 --> 00:55:08.340
Eddie some of you haven't met him, but he was someone who really was a

00:55:08.940 --> 00:55:13.700
spiritual father to me and one of the things he would talk about was that he came from a

00:55:14.420 --> 00:55:16.420
three generations of

00:55:16.940 --> 00:55:18.940
men of God I

00:55:19.260 --> 00:55:23.740
Would talk about how his dad and granddad and him and now Paul

00:55:23.860 --> 00:55:27.580
And every time he feels frightened he remembers what his dad did or his granddad did

00:55:30.260 --> 00:55:32.260
We get a chance to do this for Eliakim for

00:55:33.860 --> 00:55:35.860
Brielle for

00:55:36.460 --> 00:55:38.460
Phoebe and so on

00:55:40.860 --> 00:55:42.340
Aaron

00:55:42.340 --> 00:55:44.340
Sorry Joseph

00:55:45.460 --> 00:55:47.460
Any questions about that?

00:55:48.340 --> 00:55:53.940
Aaron sorry Joseph any questions

00:55:59.060 --> 00:56:04.340
I'm telling you the truth guys getting older is tremendously fun

00:56:07.580 --> 00:56:09.580
Can I hear an old amen

00:56:12.780 --> 00:56:14.780
Tremendously fun

00:56:15.260 --> 00:56:18.780
You get all the credit you do half the work

00:56:21.140 --> 00:56:28.300
And even the work you do you do in one quarter of the time because you've learned

00:56:33.940 --> 00:56:35.380
And

00:56:35.380 --> 00:56:42.100
You get the you get the marvelous privilege of saying when I was young. Oh my god

00:56:42.620 --> 00:56:44.620
Okay

00:56:44.740 --> 00:56:52.780
As you age change your wineskin as you age change your wineskin by changing what is familiar

00:56:53.380 --> 00:56:55.380
by changing your peers

00:56:55.660 --> 00:56:57.660
By changing sometimes your location

00:56:58.500 --> 00:57:06.780
Otherwise your spiritual capacity plateaus as you age change your wineskin. What's your wineskin? Your wineskin is this?

00:57:07.780 --> 00:57:14.220
The stuff between your ears is your wineskin as you age change your wineskin change your peers

00:57:15.980 --> 00:57:20.420
Make sure that you hang around with people that speak a certain way

00:57:21.260 --> 00:57:26.060
Many of us who get older I went for a I went for a Christmas party

00:57:26.700 --> 00:57:28.700
last year and the year before and

00:57:28.740 --> 00:57:32.940
I was surrounded by people who are about three or four years older than me

00:57:32.940 --> 00:57:38.700
And I was listening to them and they were telling me how in three years I'll have a bum knee

00:57:40.020 --> 00:57:41.700
sciatic nerve problem

00:57:41.700 --> 00:57:47.220
Something with my neck my heart and my lungs and I'm sitting there thinking I've got to go through two more hours of this

00:57:47.220 --> 00:57:49.220
I stayed because the food was good

00:57:49.220 --> 00:57:57.060
But the thing is be careful who you surround yourself with because as you get older you can be surrounded by people

00:57:57.580 --> 00:57:59.260
who just

00:57:59.260 --> 00:58:01.140
talk

00:58:01.140 --> 00:58:03.140
Nothing else but negative

00:58:07.540 --> 00:58:14.780
So be careful who you hang out with change your wineskin do things that are different have a wardrobe change

00:58:16.820 --> 00:58:23.180
Move every time you come don't sit in the same place eat things you have never experimented with

00:58:23.900 --> 00:58:28.280
George Bush the senior jumped out of a plane at

00:58:29.200 --> 00:58:33.400
85 with a parachute, but he jumped out of a plane

00:58:35.840 --> 00:58:37.940
Justin gives you thought oh, that's how he died no

00:58:38.800 --> 00:58:40.800
He jumped out with a parachute

00:58:41.040 --> 00:58:46.420
But the point is this as you grow older you must change how you function otherwise

00:58:47.000 --> 00:58:48.120
familiarity

00:58:48.120 --> 00:58:50.120
Plateaus your capacity

00:58:50.120 --> 00:58:52.120
As

00:58:56.320 --> 00:58:58.320
You get older

00:58:59.120 --> 00:59:02.440
Do not disguise hoarding a sentimentality

00:59:04.560 --> 00:59:10.500
As you grow older you start hoarding things no this reminds me of that person this reminds get rid of it

00:59:11.760 --> 00:59:15.720
Holding is cannot be disguised as sentiment sentimentality

00:59:15.720 --> 00:59:20.760
We must let go of the things we have gathered saying one day that day never comes

00:59:25.600 --> 00:59:28.120
These are these are things that strike home right now

00:59:30.080 --> 00:59:32.080
Because we are like that

00:59:33.440 --> 00:59:35.440
I've said this before but

00:59:35.440 --> 00:59:40.000
Ten years ago. I found 84 plastic bags under a carton and when I moved

00:59:40.600 --> 00:59:43.800
84 plastic bags what was I storing them up for?

00:59:45.960 --> 00:59:52.280
I did I I lifted the carton and I looked and now I realized why the carton was that high because there were 84 bags

00:59:52.280 --> 01:00:00.200
Under it man. That's when I realized Jacob. This is serious man. You're not even 50 and you got 84 plastic bags under your carton

01:00:01.800 --> 01:00:03.800
That's when I decided no more

01:00:05.560 --> 01:00:12.140
And then they stopped plastic bags just when I got rid of them now I wish I had them

01:00:16.280 --> 01:00:23.280
As I age begin to empty myself materially and spiritually as I age begin to empty myself

01:00:24.080 --> 01:00:26.080
materially and spiritually often

01:00:26.880 --> 01:00:28.880
die empty die empty

01:00:30.840 --> 01:00:33.440
Give your children their inheritance, but die empty I

01:00:34.400 --> 01:00:41.220
Love the next one and I've seen this happen in lives in my life and other lives older than me as I age

01:00:41.700 --> 01:00:49.020
Expect the rush of the spirit the ridiculous anointing of the spirit to sometimes birth and Isaac

01:00:49.980 --> 01:00:57.740
Sometimes weaponized the jawbone of an ass like happened with Samson sometimes run faster than a haps chariot

01:00:57.980 --> 01:01:02.940
You have no idea how how God uses people that are older

01:01:03.420 --> 01:01:06.580
Through a through a ridiculous anointing of the Holy Spirit

01:01:11.220 --> 01:01:17.900
It just falls upon them and they begin to do things that it is impossible to

01:01:20.340 --> 01:01:25.220
Any questions I'll conclude any questions

01:01:32.100 --> 01:01:34.100
No

01:01:34.700 --> 01:01:36.700
No

01:01:37.700 --> 01:01:43.780
Yeah as you age begin to empty yourself materially and spiritually and often

01:01:46.380 --> 01:01:51.460
Materially and spiritually start emptying yourself and often. What are you keeping it for?

01:02:00.740 --> 01:02:02.740
Talk to me

01:02:03.460 --> 01:02:08.340
No, I meant that I know it sounds like a money grab but I really didn't mean it that way

01:02:09.420 --> 01:02:11.700
Yeah, I got a private jet that I need to buy

01:02:11.700 --> 01:02:17.100
So I'm kidding talk to me and we can talk about how best to use it

01:02:17.740 --> 01:02:20.600
Empty yourself often materially and spiritually

01:02:23.860 --> 01:02:29.460
As you age and I end with this bit as you age the question isn't whether you belong

01:02:30.180 --> 01:02:38.020
The question is whether you're a pillar that is willing to carry the weight of what God is doing in the house as you age

01:02:38.100 --> 01:02:41.300
The question isn't whether you belong

01:02:46.380 --> 01:02:53.060
My dad or mum never said do I belong in the house as they got older

01:02:53.660 --> 01:03:00.820
As you age the question isn't whether you belong it's whether you're a pillar that is willing to carry

01:03:01.300 --> 01:03:04.980
The weight of what God is doing in the house

01:03:06.500 --> 01:03:13.900
And if we don't go down that route then it is only a matter of time before the heart will get resentful

01:03:14.260 --> 01:03:19.300
Will get bitter will withdraw and you will end up in the older brother syndrome

01:03:19.300 --> 01:03:23.500
Where anything that the younger one does just irks you

01:03:30.580 --> 01:03:32.580
Make sure you're still teachable here

01:03:33.620 --> 01:03:37.220
Humility in the community keeps me connected to breakthrough life

01:03:37.620 --> 01:03:42.740
Humility in community keeps me connected to breakthrough life

01:03:42.740 --> 01:03:45.540
You know you can do a Sinatra in the unimportant things

01:03:45.540 --> 01:03:52.340
You can do a Sinatra in the unimportant things what I mean by that is I'll do with my way

01:03:52.420 --> 01:03:54.420
You can do that in all the unimportant things

01:03:55.140 --> 01:03:59.660
But in the important things one must learn how to be teachable and humble

01:04:00.580 --> 01:04:03.060
As you grow older it becomes harder

01:04:04.340 --> 01:04:06.340
to be teachable and humble I

01:04:07.660 --> 01:04:12.180
Remember my nephew Caleb I said something to him. This was years ago when he was much younger

01:04:12.260 --> 01:04:15.740
I said something to him and he said yeah, yeah, and as he walked away he said

01:04:16.580 --> 01:04:20.660
He did that and walked away. I saw it. I was surprised at how

01:04:21.380 --> 01:04:26.700
Annoyed I was that the guy had the audacity. My nephew had the audacity to stick out his tongue at me. I

01:04:27.980 --> 01:04:30.380
Almost wanted to come in it's come here and stand here

01:04:30.660 --> 01:04:36.060
Then I decided not to but the point was I was surprised at how annoyed I was you have no idea

01:04:36.060 --> 01:04:40.260
How as we get older we get really annoyed by what younger people do

01:04:40.900 --> 01:04:45.980
Just so you know we just pretending patience and peace but inside itself

01:04:49.020 --> 01:04:51.220
Wrong place to sit today for this message

01:04:55.420 --> 01:05:02.100
Well the point is that I must learn how to with lightning speed forgive offense lightning speed

01:05:02.100 --> 01:05:05.960
I have to forgive offense as you get older offense is easy

01:05:06.600 --> 01:05:10.200
Everything they do may o'q

01:05:13.880 --> 01:05:16.440
With lightning speed I must forgive offense

01:05:22.040 --> 01:05:24.840
Is that you Betty yeah it is

01:05:27.000 --> 01:05:29.000
Sorry

01:05:29.240 --> 01:05:33.840
Sorry, sorry it is no no, it's sorry. Let me move on

01:05:35.960 --> 01:05:37.960
As

01:05:42.480 --> 01:05:45.760
You aid stop lamenting about the former glory of things

01:05:48.440 --> 01:05:54.040
Expect to find your footing in the latter glory of what God is building I

01:05:56.800 --> 01:06:02.920
Want you to read one more scripture and then I'll give you a word to repeat if you're over 50 then we are done

01:06:03.200 --> 01:06:05.120
Isaiah 46

01:06:05.160 --> 01:06:07.160
Was three to five

01:06:07.600 --> 01:06:11.240
as you read this remember this don't dip God of

01:06:12.320 --> 01:06:16.960
His faithfulness with which he intends to carry you so that you can be where he is

01:06:17.800 --> 01:06:19.800
Isaiah 46 3 to 5

01:06:20.480 --> 01:06:27.400
Don't rob God of this opportunity. He is so determined to do this as they are 46 3 to 5 from the message

01:06:30.880 --> 01:06:32.880
Listen to me family of Jacob

01:06:33.840 --> 01:06:36.320
Everyone that's left of the family of Israel

01:06:37.600 --> 01:06:40.680
I've been carrying you on my back from the day you were born

01:06:41.800 --> 01:06:44.520
And I'll keep on carrying you when you're old

01:06:45.640 --> 01:06:52.200
I'll be there bearing you when you're old and great. I've done it and will keep on doing it carrying you on my back

01:06:52.680 --> 01:06:59.780
Saving you so to whom will you compare me the incomparable? Can you picture me without reducing me?

01:07:03.520 --> 01:07:06.880
Don't rob him me he wants to carry

01:07:09.840 --> 01:07:11.840
And in the areas of your weakness

01:07:13.800 --> 01:07:17.600
Receive correction change receive discipline and change

01:07:18.560 --> 01:07:20.560
If you're weak in the area of finances

01:07:21.240 --> 01:07:23.520
Corrected if you're weak in the area of sickness

01:07:23.800 --> 01:07:25.800
Corrected if you're weak in the area of pride

01:07:26.200 --> 01:07:29.720
Corrected if you're weak in the area of being able to participate

01:07:30.200 --> 01:07:38.240
Corrected if you're weak in the area of gossip and hanging out with people that will fill your years with every known complaint and every broken marriage

01:07:39.440 --> 01:07:44.440
Correct it because if you don't as you grow older it begins to hobble you

01:07:45.920 --> 01:07:53.280
Begins to hobble you and the blind spots in your life are blind spots because you can't see them find someone else who has the guts

01:07:53.280 --> 01:07:55.160
to say that to you

01:07:55.200 --> 01:08:00.000
Not immediately after the service if you come and tell me tell me in my blind spots I most likely won't

01:08:00.960 --> 01:08:02.960
Because blind thoughts are painfully

01:08:03.960 --> 01:08:10.660
That's why I don't ask you to tell me my blind spots. I do occasionally, but it's painful the last thing

01:08:11.600 --> 01:08:17.920
That will really keep you young is just say these words after me and every so often repeated. Yeah

01:08:17.920 --> 01:08:25.440
Say Jesus this for everyone who's 50 plus Jesus is my

01:08:28.360 --> 01:08:30.360
Sigma Rizzo

01:08:31.720 --> 01:08:36.680
Okay, you say that and it'll completely change how you function yeah

01:08:37.680 --> 01:08:46.240
Okay, Jesus is my Sigma Rizzo means like he's amazing he's red and I will follow him and stuff like that

01:08:48.040 --> 01:08:52.240
No, no, it's true Jesus is my Sigma Rizzo. Yeah, you just say that

01:08:52.960 --> 01:08:56.320
Something happens you say Jesus is my Sigma Rizzo

01:08:57.040 --> 01:08:59.040
You say Jesus is my Sigma Rizzo

01:08:59.200 --> 01:09:01.680
No, no, it's true Jesus is my Sigma Rizzo

01:09:02.040 --> 01:09:04.940
Yeah, you just say that it's something happens

01:09:04.940 --> 01:09:11.840
You say Jesus is my Sigma Rizzo and everything begins to move like you're staying alive again. Yeah, so let's end on that

01:09:14.880 --> 01:09:17.120
Okay, so father

01:09:19.200 --> 01:09:25.120
Without asking people to stand I just pray for everybody here who's 50 and above

01:09:29.920 --> 01:09:33.000
There's only two things I'm gonna ask for father one

01:09:35.160 --> 01:09:37.160
Can you give us

01:09:38.160 --> 01:09:40.160
Purpose

01:09:40.160 --> 01:09:42.160
That fits within

01:09:42.880 --> 01:09:46.400
The context of this church to can you remind us?

01:09:47.200 --> 01:09:49.200
of unfulfilled promises

01:09:50.080 --> 01:09:52.080
That have yet to be

01:09:52.960 --> 01:09:54.960
accomplished

01:09:56.600 --> 01:09:58.600
And the truth is

01:09:59.040 --> 01:10:01.340
The third thing can you help us?

01:10:02.920 --> 01:10:06.600
Become pillars that carry the weight of what you're doing in this church

01:10:09.400 --> 01:10:11.400
How will you supply us

01:10:12.360 --> 01:10:14.360
Wisdom that we talked about

01:10:15.120 --> 01:10:17.120
where the young

01:10:17.520 --> 01:10:23.600
And the old will long for Dill now long for Joan long for Sue will long for Diana

01:10:24.360 --> 01:10:25.560
to

01:10:25.560 --> 01:10:29.600
Long for Mike I can go on father will long for them

01:10:31.080 --> 01:10:36.920
To open their mouths and say things that carry such weight such grace

01:10:37.840 --> 01:10:39.440
so much of

01:10:39.440 --> 01:10:41.440
your way of thinking

01:10:42.960 --> 01:10:45.640
So we don't look for ministries or opportunities

01:10:45.960 --> 01:10:50.320
We look for you and what you're doing and then we dive into that

01:10:51.040 --> 01:10:53.780
And in diving into that we will

01:10:54.420 --> 01:10:56.940
Even accomplish the things that have been left unfulfilled

01:10:57.820 --> 01:10:59.820
Barzila had an opportunity

01:10:59.820 --> 01:11:06.860
He could dive into it, but he didn't find a ministry and he decided he would stay home. He sent Chim Ham instead

01:11:08.100 --> 01:11:14.380
We don't want to send Chim Ham if the king invites us we want to go because in the presence of the king

01:11:14.860 --> 01:11:16.860
many things happen I

01:11:17.180 --> 01:11:21.860
Just pray a spirit of God that he would take what has been taught and you would embedded in our hearts

01:11:23.780 --> 01:11:25.780
So I

01:11:26.380 --> 01:11:33.500
Bless the ones that are older than 50 here and my one desire for them and for me is that

01:11:33.980 --> 01:11:38.380
We either see a large part of Hebrides 2.0

01:11:39.180 --> 01:11:45.140
Or the beginning of Hebrides 2.0. I ask you God as a gift

01:11:45.740 --> 01:11:49.240
to the ones in this church that are over 50, would you

01:11:49.560 --> 01:11:52.360
Let us stay alive like you did Simeon

01:11:53.560 --> 01:11:59.040
So that we may see the consolation of Richmond or of other parts

01:11:59.680 --> 01:12:06.120
Of the world that we may see then we can say my eyes have seen it. God was always faithful

01:12:12.520 --> 01:12:14.520
I love you

01:12:19.240 --> 01:12:26.240
Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do

01:12:30.000 --> 01:12:32.800
From the moment that I wake up

01:12:34.320 --> 01:12:41.600
Until I lay my head I will sing of your goodness

01:12:42.600 --> 01:12:44.600
Oh God

01:12:45.040 --> 01:12:49.440
Can all the 50 pluses rise and just sing this chorus

01:13:00.840 --> 01:13:02.840
Tony why aren't you standing?

01:13:04.560 --> 01:13:09.800
Okay, so let's sing this together a the chorus can you go to the chorus all

01:13:10.800 --> 01:13:14.080
My life you have been faithful

01:13:16.840 --> 01:13:22.560
All my life you have been so so good

01:13:24.920 --> 01:13:30.360
With every breath that I am able I

01:13:30.880 --> 01:13:32.880
will sing of

01:13:33.320 --> 01:13:35.800
the goodness of God

01:13:36.200 --> 01:13:39.320
Let's sing it together church all my life

01:13:39.880 --> 01:13:41.880
You have been faithful

01:13:43.280 --> 01:13:50.080
All my life you have been so so good

01:13:51.880 --> 01:13:57.800
With every breath that I am able I

01:13:58.400 --> 01:14:00.400
will sing of

01:14:00.720 --> 01:14:02.720
the goodness of

01:14:03.040 --> 01:14:05.040
God how old are you Elio

01:14:06.040 --> 01:14:12.800
Three years old do you know I'm 57 years older than you can we do this song together? Can you sing loudly?

01:14:15.600 --> 01:14:17.600
You have been faithful

01:14:19.920 --> 01:14:26.280
All my life you have been so so good

01:14:28.440 --> 01:14:32.280
With every breath that I am able

01:14:32.760 --> 01:14:39.720
I will sing of the goodness of

01:14:41.720 --> 01:14:48.040
Thank you guys if you need prayer there'll be someone here to pray with you you good cool
