And so if you want a title for today it will be 00:00:25.000 --> 00:00:36.040 inheritance. And this applies both to you as an individual and to us as a church 00:00:36.040 --> 00:00:41.320 and to the churches connected with us. And some of the things will be specific 00:00:41.320 --> 00:00:45.960 to Acts 29. And sometimes if you're connected to Acts 29 it applies to you 00:00:45.960 --> 00:00:50.760 also but God may have other things he wants to add to you. So we're going to 00:00:50.760 --> 00:00:56.440 talk about inheritance. And given that it's 24 days from the end of the year 00:00:56.440 --> 00:01:04.000 you've got enough time to work on this. Yeah guys inheritance if you want to define it, inheritance is 00:02:04.320 --> 00:02:09.920 something that is assigned, acquired or possessed by virtue of position. This is 00:02:09.920 --> 00:02:15.640 important eh? Inheritance is something that is assigned, acquired or possessed. 00:02:15.640 --> 00:02:22.480 Inheritance is something that is assigned to you or it's acquired by you 00:02:22.480 --> 00:02:31.520 or it's possessed by you simply because of the position you occupy. It's by 00:02:31.520 --> 00:02:40.600 virtue of your position or your relational position that you have. That's 00:02:40.600 --> 00:02:47.000 how you get inheritance. It's not because you work towards it. Work will 00:02:47.000 --> 00:02:53.760 never get you an inheritance. You cannot you cannot work for it. Go ahead. 00:02:53.760 --> 00:03:05.480 Manoj is just trying to make himself indispensable so we miss him when he 00:03:05.480 --> 00:03:11.680 leaves. So you cannot work for your inheritance. You cannot work for your 00:03:11.680 --> 00:03:19.000 inheritance. Cannot work for an inheritance. So much so that when Israel came into the promised land they were 00:03:31.720 --> 00:03:38.640 assigned their inheritance. Tribes and families were assigned in inheritance. If 00:03:38.640 --> 00:03:49.160 you go to Galatians 3.29, Galatians 3.29, Galatians 3.29, it says there that if you 00:03:49.160 --> 00:03:54.920 are Christ, you are if you are Christ's then you are Abraham's offspring as 00:03:54.920 --> 00:04:01.720 according to a promise. So you get what is due you not because you work at it 00:04:01.720 --> 00:04:06.880 but because you are supposed to get the inheritance because of your relationship 00:04:06.880 --> 00:04:11.080 with the one who is giving it to you. And this is important guys because when I 00:04:11.080 --> 00:04:15.240 talk about inheritance both as a church and as an individual I must realize that 00:04:15.240 --> 00:04:18.940 there is someone who's interested in giving it to me and that it is mine to 00:04:18.940 --> 00:04:26.040 receive because of my relationship with God. In the Old Testament God even put 00:04:26.040 --> 00:04:31.700 in a provision whereby inheritance would be safeguarded from being passed off to 00:04:31.700 --> 00:04:38.940 others and so in the year of Jubilee any land that had been given away 00:04:38.940 --> 00:04:44.340 because of debts would be returned because the Old Testament had inheritance 00:04:44.340 --> 00:04:49.060 laws to safeguard the land from being passed off to others and that's one of 00:04:49.060 --> 00:04:53.380 the things that used to happen once every 50 years at the time of Jubilee. 00:04:53.380 --> 00:05:00.220 That is how important it is for God that we both receive our inheritance because 00:05:00.220 --> 00:05:06.060 of our relationship with him. That we then begin to work or landscape our life 00:05:06.060 --> 00:05:10.780 according to the inheritance that he's giving to us and that he desires to give 00:05:10.780 --> 00:05:13.100 it to us. 00:05:16.700 --> 00:05:22.060 I want you to grasp how important it is to discover and walk in it. He knows the next 00:05:53.820 --> 00:05:59.300 page before I get there and he would like me to have a glimpse of the page so 00:05:59.300 --> 00:06:05.340 that I can walk in the lines he has written for me. And if he is the author 00:06:05.340 --> 00:06:10.660 and he is writing my story surely the author would like me to walk in the 00:06:10.660 --> 00:06:17.060 story that he has crafted for me. This is why it's important to desire to 00:06:17.060 --> 00:06:22.860 discover to think of this as important. Unfortunately for whatever reason we 00:06:22.860 --> 00:06:26.340 Christians don't think it is important and churches don't think it is important. 00:06:26.340 --> 00:06:31.060 Do you know that Acts 29 has an inheritance awaiting it in 2021 and that 00:06:31.060 --> 00:06:36.900 if we were able to walk in that we will plow that land and come into alignment 00:06:36.900 --> 00:06:43.240 with God's plans for us? I mean what do you see when Moses 00:06:46.940 --> 00:06:51.780 prophesies on the 12 tribes? What do you see when Jacob prophesies on the 12 00:06:51.780 --> 00:06:56.020 tribes? What do you see there? He's bequeathing to them the inheritance 00:06:56.020 --> 00:07:01.200 that they are supposed to handle for the rest of their lives. Asher this is who 00:07:01.200 --> 00:07:06.140 you are. Dan this is who you are. Joseph this is who you are. Judah this is who 00:07:06.140 --> 00:07:10.860 you are. And you think with Jacob having said that it is done with but then you 00:07:10.860 --> 00:07:16.780 see Moses doing the same thing with each tribe in Deuteronomy. You see Jacob 00:07:16.780 --> 00:07:21.740 doing it in Genesis. You see Moses doing it in Deuteronomy. Once again a lot 00:07:21.740 --> 00:07:26.740 thing to people the next phase of the inheritance. 00:07:29.060 --> 00:07:33.500 Because one of the things God does is he knows we won't be able to handle it if 00:07:33.500 --> 00:07:39.620 he told us all these 720 pages that he has written for your life. So what I'm saying to you isn't some newfangled charismatic 00:07:53.620 --> 00:08:00.580 idea it has been since the beginning right from Genesis onwards. 00:08:05.580 --> 00:08:11.140 God wants you to have your inheritance not grudgingly or occasionally but 00:08:11.140 --> 00:08:15.220 permanently through your life. God wants you to have your inheritance not 00:08:15.220 --> 00:08:19.180 grudgingly he's not saying well I really don't want to give it to you but 00:08:19.180 --> 00:08:22.860 since you have found out about the inheritance take it it's that's like a 00:08:22.860 --> 00:08:28.500 parent who wants to die with their estate secure. Oh no no I don't have a 00:08:28.500 --> 00:08:33.360 will no no no no God has a will for you and he wants you to have it. He doesn't 00:08:33.360 --> 00:08:37.660 give it grudgingly he doesn't give it occasionally he wants you to walk on it 00:08:37.660 --> 00:08:44.660 on a regular basis. I say to parents of young children please don't look at 00:08:44.660 --> 00:08:52.100 what your child should be in terms of a lucrative career or financially secure 00:08:52.100 --> 00:08:56.300 career look at the child in terms of the child's inheritance look at the child in 00:08:56.300 --> 00:09:01.900 terms of what God has given you this child for and if a parent can see that 00:09:01.900 --> 00:09:09.140 your child will be secure financially will have as lucrative vocation as you 00:09:09.140 --> 00:09:13.580 can think of and will do phenomenally well but unfortunately parents are 00:09:13.580 --> 00:09:17.340 putting pressure on them to make sure that the child has a stable secure life 00:09:17.340 --> 00:09:21.980 and a stable secure life at what cost? 00:09:21.980 --> 00:09:26.580 At the cost of the days that were written for you in the book by the author 00:09:26.580 --> 00:09:32.220 and the creator of heaven and earth?
