It's an action or event or a behavior that 00:02:54.240 --> 00:03:02.480 causes a shock or anger or embarrassment because it breaks the moral or the legal, right? 00:03:02.880 --> 00:03:08.880 Legal rules, so to say. It's like something unconventional, something that is out of the box. 00:03:09.840 --> 00:03:16.080 And when we think of the scandal of divine trust, here I'm talking about God, who is the God of the 00:03:16.080 --> 00:03:26.320 universe, who created the heavens and the earth, and he trusts you with his name. He trusts you 00:03:26.320 --> 00:03:34.400 with his reputation. He trusts you with his power. He trusts you with his kingdom. He trusts you with 00:03:34.400 --> 00:03:41.360 his plans. He trusts you with his salvation, plans and purposes. It's outrageous, guys. 00:03:41.360 --> 00:03:49.200 When you think of this, yeah? Just think of this for a second, eh? You and I have been given something that God trusts you with. 00:10:36.800 --> 00:10:45.520 He entrusts you with. And we see this in the parable of the talents as well. That's the first one. Later on, he was entrusted with a nation. 00:12:25.760 --> 00:12:33.280 Same thing with Joseph. One time he was made an overseer of, you know, Potiphar's house. Because of Joseph's sake, Potiphar is flourishing here. It is not Potiphar's brilliance. 00:14:35.040 --> 00:14:40.240 It has nothing to do with Potiphar, eh? It is because of what has been entrusted to Joseph 00:14:40.240 --> 00:14:47.840 that the employer now begins to flourish. Crazy, guys. You know, when you look at, like what I asked earlier, right, about 00:16:32.080 --> 00:16:42.720 Moses' mother. She's one such character in the Bible who is hardly mentioned. Everyone knows Moses, 00:16:42.720 --> 00:16:52.240 yeah? The deliverer. The man who saw the burning bush. The man who talks to God face to face. The 00:16:52.800 --> 00:16:59.440 face to face. The deliverer. The man who parted the Red Sea. Everyone knows Moses. But 00:17:01.280 --> 00:17:08.960 very little is mentioned of Moses' mother. And here, yes, I'm specifically addressing 00:17:08.960 --> 00:17:16.320 the importance of the roles of mothers here in this room. Yeah? Oftentimes, the roles of mother 00:17:16.960 --> 00:17:25.520 are quiet, in the hidden, unnoticed, but they play a critical role, right? And I'm saying, 00:17:25.520 --> 00:17:29.600 not only the mothers, but of course, there are so many who plays the roles in the background, 00:17:29.600 --> 00:17:40.160 but particularly mothers. But you know, the public may not recognize Moses' mother, but heaven 00:17:40.160 --> 00:17:49.360 recognizes her. Yeah? She has the faith to raise him up and the courage to let him go. 00:17:49.360 --> 00:17:55.520 Before, you know, we see this brilliant man of God, Moses, the deliverer, there was a woman in 00:17:55.520 --> 00:18:04.080 obscurity. Yeah? Before we see the miracles of Moses, you know, the miracles that God did through 00:18:04.080 --> 00:18:12.480 Moses, there was this lady who was behind the scene who was risking her own life to raise Moses. 00:18:14.880 --> 00:18:21.440 Risking her own life. And you know, when I was reading this story about Moses' mother, 00:18:23.200 --> 00:18:31.280 it really, really stood out for me. Even the very name. Okay, now I'm revealing her name, 00:18:31.680 --> 00:18:38.480 which Hamari said, you know, yeah, the English word is J-O-C-H-E-B-E-D, right? 00:18:39.680 --> 00:18:49.920 Or I'm not sure. But the the Arabic reading is Yokevet, right? Yokevet. That's the name. 00:18:49.920 --> 00:18:54.560 And you know what? The meaning of her name is, Yahweh is glory. 00:18:54.800 --> 00:19:01.760 Yahweh, the Lord is my glory. That came later. But later on, we read in Exodus 6, 00:19:45.120 --> 00:19:51.840 but later on, we read in Exodus 6, and in Numbers 26, we found out that 00:19:53.840 --> 00:20:01.920 her name is Yokevet, and then Moses' father's name is Amram. Yeah, Amram. Yeah. 00:20:04.240 --> 00:20:09.040 It was new for me. I just learned it two days ago. Yeah. 00:20:09.040 --> 00:20:12.480 Never pay attention to this. But you know, God is already writing 00:20:14.080 --> 00:20:25.040 her story into the story of God before Pharaoh even noticed. Yeah. A brilliant man. And 00:20:26.320 --> 00:20:34.320 the time that she lived in, very interesting. It was not an easy time. Here's this Pharaoh 00:20:34.640 --> 00:20:41.920 who had issued a decree, like Daniel's time, right? They issued a decree that every Hebrew-born 00:20:43.040 --> 00:20:52.640 is to be killed, right? Thrown into the Nile River. That was the decree. That was the time 00:20:52.640 --> 00:21:00.160 she lived in. It was a decree. It was not an option. It was not a request. It was a command. 00:21:00.160 --> 00:21:07.680 It was a decree. And now if she is found saving her own child, death penalty, right? Now she's 00:21:07.680 --> 00:21:18.400 risking her own life. But I love what it says. In this chaotic dark time, she saw the child 00:21:18.400 --> 00:21:25.120 that she was no ordinary child. She was a fine child. Some versions say that 00:21:25.600 --> 00:21:32.640 fine child. Some versions say that there was something special about this child. 00:21:34.320 --> 00:21:42.800 It was not just a fine child. Every child is fine. You know? But the mom saw something unique, 00:21:42.800 --> 00:21:51.760 something special, something extraordinary about this little child. And now that made her risk her 00:21:51.760 --> 00:22:04.960 own life. This is something the empire could not see. The nations could not see. The mom saw. 00:22:06.880 --> 00:22:14.400 Mom saw something unique, right? And you know what? This is where many people miss. Because oftentimes, guys, our spiritual battles 00:22:32.880 --> 00:22:39.680 are fought oftentimes in the personal, in the private, right? Many people change because of their mother's prayers. Yeah? Relentless prayers. 00:22:51.120 --> 00:23:02.640 For years and years, yeah? So that's the second one, right? You and I are entrusted for a season. 00:23:02.640 --> 00:23:06.720 You and I are entrusted for a season. 00:23:09.840 --> 00:23:16.480 And so when you think of that for a second, your perspective will change. Knowing the moment of surrender and release. 00:23:39.360 --> 00:23:48.960 Knowing the moment of surrender and release. You know, what helps you 00:23:51.760 --> 00:23:57.600 for the present season may be helpful, and you may be able to enjoy it for 00:23:57.600 --> 00:24:04.560 a period of time. But there comes a moment when what worked in one season cannot carry into the next. 00:24:05.920 --> 00:24:13.920 Everyone knows that. Yeah? You know, diapers may be helpful, but kids will grow. The car seats for the kids comes a point of time where you remove that, 00:24:22.640 --> 00:24:28.960 comes a point of time where you remove that, right? It may serve for the season, but comes 00:24:28.960 --> 00:24:35.360 a point where things have to be changed, right? New strategies, new ways. And you know, 00:24:36.400 --> 00:24:43.760 this is something many of us struggle. If you have built a business, it's hard to let go. 00:24:45.440 --> 00:24:51.200 If you have led a project, it's hard for someone to take over. If you have built a ministry, 00:24:51.920 --> 00:24:58.560 it's hard to pass it on to someone because we begin to own them. We begin to draw 00:24:58.560 --> 00:25:03.760 meaning from them. We begin to draw our identity from them. I build it. It's my church. It's my 00:25:03.760 --> 00:25:14.160 business, right? It's my project, my idea, right? It's hard to let go. Yeah? But what's been given 00:25:14.160 --> 00:25:19.200 to you guys? Anything. Here I'm talking about wisdom. Here I'm talking about resources. Here 00:25:19.200 --> 00:25:23.920 I'm talking about talent. Here I'm talking about skills or business or ministry or whatever that's 00:25:23.920 --> 00:25:31.280 been given to you comes a point of time where you have to learn how to surrender and release, 00:25:32.400 --> 00:25:42.000 right? And here's the thing. Moses' mother, she hit him for three months and then comes a period 00:25:42.000 --> 00:25:49.600 of time where she could not hide him any longer, right? She could not hide him 00:25:51.840 --> 00:25:58.880 no longer. She couldn't, right? She did everything she can. 00:26:01.360 --> 00:26:08.960 And so what she did was she put him in a pepperous basket for him and coated him with tar 00:26:08.960 --> 00:26:15.920 and pitch and then she placed the child in it and put among the reeds along the bank of Nile. Exodus 00:26:15.920 --> 00:26:21.920 2 verse 3, right? His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him. 00:26:24.320 --> 00:26:33.200 It's a very interesting part here. Here the mom tried his best but she couldn't hide him any longer 00:26:33.200 --> 00:26:41.040 and so she waves the basket, puts the baby, right? Covers and then now releases. And you know, 00:26:41.040 --> 00:26:47.600 I find this very fascinating. You know, the word basket, teva, in Hebrew is the same word that 00:26:47.600 --> 00:26:54.720 Noah used the ark. Build, the build, the ark, right? And here's the basket, right? And you know what? 00:26:55.360 --> 00:27:01.840 These two are coming from the same root word and no other stories in the Bible matches these two. 00:27:02.400 --> 00:27:12.320 These two are unique. So here, you know, as we all know the story, Noah built the ark and then as he 00:27:12.320 --> 00:27:19.360 built the ark he brings his family entire into the ark and now the flood comes and then there was 00:27:19.360 --> 00:27:25.520 judgment going on. The wrath of God. Judgment was going on but there was protection out there. 00:27:26.240 --> 00:27:33.840 Here, same parallel story we read here. Here the basket, the mother weaves the basket, 00:27:34.400 --> 00:27:42.400 puts the child, Moses, there and then let's go. Whereas we know the story that every Hebrew boy 00:27:42.400 --> 00:27:51.280 was killed in the river Nile. There was death all around and there is this basket where Moses has 00:27:51.280 --> 00:27:59.360 been placed there. Judgment was going on. Here is this mother who has released, right? 00:28:01.120 --> 00:28:10.960 If this is not abandonment, here is not a mother, you know, abandoning a child. No. If it is 00:28:10.960 --> 00:28:18.400 abandonment, she doesn't even need a basket in the first place. Yeah? Just wrap the child and 00:28:18.400 --> 00:28:27.840 throw into the river. No. But she builds the basket, hoping.
