00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:12.440
Okay, so last week we started with this series called Hebrides 2.0 and we said how there

00:00:12.440 --> 00:00:18.760
was a promise given in Hebrides in January that we need to now examine.

00:00:18.760 --> 00:00:24.160
And last week we talked about a purifying fire from heaven.

00:00:24.160 --> 00:00:25.900
That's what we talked about.

00:00:25.900 --> 00:00:30.820
And so I'll just read it out and perhaps Jeremy can put it on.

00:00:30.820 --> 00:00:34.460
I just gave it to him so it might be difficult to pull it out right now.

00:00:34.460 --> 00:00:38.340
It said, the word said, oh wow.

00:00:38.340 --> 00:00:45.100
So this was the word that was given at Stornoway, January 6th or 7th at the beginning of the

00:00:45.100 --> 00:00:51.500
year, a purifying fire from heaven that burns up religious and historical junk.

00:00:51.500 --> 00:00:54.600
And that's what we dealt with last week.

00:00:54.600 --> 00:01:00.640
As the divine warrior marches, doing what?

00:01:00.640 --> 00:01:01.640
Delivering young men and women.

00:01:01.640 --> 00:01:07.160
And this is why I really like that song that Tony sang today because it almost summarizes

00:01:07.160 --> 00:01:10.000
this.

00:01:10.000 --> 00:01:16.120
And so as the divine warrior marches, delivering young men and women from nations into the

00:01:16.120 --> 00:01:24.080
kingdom, calling sons and daughters into that circle of dancing, abundance and joy

00:01:24.320 --> 00:01:26.560
before the lion and the lamb.

00:01:26.560 --> 00:01:32.320
And they will be a torch bearing generation that goes forth and will not return empty.

00:01:32.320 --> 00:01:34.920
I think it's powerful.

00:01:34.920 --> 00:01:37.560
Only God can bring it a pass.

00:01:37.560 --> 00:01:42.280
So last week we did a purifying fire from heaven that burns up religious and historical

00:01:42.280 --> 00:01:43.680
junk.

00:01:43.680 --> 00:01:49.080
Today we deal with as the divine warrior enters, as the divine warrior marches.

00:01:49.080 --> 00:01:50.080
That's the bit we'll deal with today.

00:01:50.080 --> 00:01:51.640
It's such a powerful word.

00:01:51.640 --> 00:01:53.000
Let's just read it one more time.

00:01:53.000 --> 00:01:58.840
A purifying fire from heaven that burns up religious and historical junk.

00:01:58.840 --> 00:02:03.520
As the divine warrior marches, delivering young men and women from nations into the

00:02:03.520 --> 00:02:09.960
kingdom, calling sons and daughters into that circle of dancing, of abundance, of joy before

00:02:09.960 --> 00:02:11.960
the lion and the lamb.

00:02:11.960 --> 00:02:15.960
And they will be a torch bearing generation that goes forth and will not return empty.

00:02:15.960 --> 00:02:18.880
So why do we call this Hebrides 2.0?

00:02:18.880 --> 00:02:25.520
Because Hebrides 1.0, which happened about 1950, did this and then it went completely

00:02:25.520 --> 00:02:26.520
dead.

00:02:26.520 --> 00:02:29.400
You won't find any residue of what happened there.

00:02:29.400 --> 00:02:34.040
Even the sons and the daughters of the ones that experienced revival don't have a recollection

00:02:34.040 --> 00:02:36.040
and don't have an expectation.

00:02:36.040 --> 00:02:39.240
God is saying, well then, Hebrides 2.0.

00:02:39.240 --> 00:02:40.240
Through whom?

00:02:40.240 --> 00:02:41.240
Through you.

00:02:41.240 --> 00:02:42.240
How?

00:02:42.240 --> 00:02:44.680
By allowing you to ignite it and then it spreads.

00:02:44.680 --> 00:02:48.520
Sometimes our role is not to do anything else but to ignite something and then spread it

00:02:48.520 --> 00:02:54.680
as Derek was saying, it is to reproduce.

00:02:54.680 --> 00:02:56.000
God is smart, eh?

00:02:56.000 --> 00:03:04.440
He planted trees that reproduce so that there will be trees in the world forever.

00:03:04.440 --> 00:03:17.720
So today we deal with, as the divine warrior marches on.

00:03:17.920 --> 00:03:19.760
That's the part we deal with.

00:03:19.760 --> 00:03:28.360
So one of the things about the divine warrior, and we talked about this briefly last week,

00:03:28.360 --> 00:03:29.920
someone asked a question.

00:03:29.920 --> 00:03:35.840
The divine warrior is a jealous warrior.

00:03:35.840 --> 00:03:40.880
And so one of the words we'll have to look at, if we want to understand warrior, if we

00:03:40.880 --> 00:03:47.200
want to understand the zeal of this warrior, we will have to understand that he's a jealous

00:03:47.200 --> 00:03:48.200
warrior.

00:03:48.200 --> 00:03:51.600
And this word we'll focus on today and you'll see why.

00:03:51.600 --> 00:03:53.760
The divine warrior is a jealous warrior.

00:03:53.760 --> 00:04:08.840
If you go to Exodus 34, Exodus 34, 14, Exodus 34, 14, it says, do not worship any other

00:04:08.840 --> 00:04:14.400
God for the Lord whose name is jealous is a jealous God.

00:04:14.400 --> 00:04:16.860
His name is jealous.

00:04:17.520 --> 00:04:21.220
Strange, eh, that he names himself jealous.

00:04:21.220 --> 00:04:25.660
That's what it says in Exodus 34, 14.

00:04:25.660 --> 00:04:27.060
He's not even saying I'm a jealous God.

00:04:27.060 --> 00:04:28.740
He's saying my name is jealous.

00:04:28.740 --> 00:04:37.340
And to understand the zeal of the divine warrior, you must understand what it is to have a God

00:04:37.340 --> 00:04:40.500
whose name is jealous.

00:04:40.500 --> 00:04:44.180
Because all kingdom reformation, all kingdom revival through the Old Testament and the

00:04:44.300 --> 00:04:51.540
New Testament has always been initiated by a leader or by people who are jealous for

00:04:51.540 --> 00:04:54.220
God.

00:04:54.220 --> 00:05:01.820
Every kingdom revival, every kingdom reformation in the Old Testament and the New Testament

00:05:01.820 --> 00:05:09.380
could only start or could only be initiated if a people or a leader became jealous for

00:05:09.380 --> 00:05:10.900
God.

00:05:10.900 --> 00:05:19.340
So be it Phinehas, who in Numbers 25 is jealous with the jealousy of God and takes a spear

00:05:19.340 --> 00:05:25.320
and thrusts it through Cosby and Zimri to bring an end to a plague.

00:05:25.320 --> 00:05:27.860
And you would think that God would say that was pretty violent.

00:05:27.860 --> 00:05:35.060
Instead he says Phinehas possesses my zeal, my jealousy, and therefore he will be remembered

00:05:35.060 --> 00:05:37.980
throughout history.

00:05:37.980 --> 00:05:40.140
You take David.

00:05:40.140 --> 00:05:41.140
What triggered David?

00:05:41.140 --> 00:05:42.520
What triggered his destiny?

00:05:42.520 --> 00:05:44.900
What triggered the reshaping of Israel?

00:05:44.900 --> 00:05:46.060
One simple thing.

00:05:46.060 --> 00:05:49.900
He's walking up and down as people are hidden in their foxholes.

00:05:49.900 --> 00:05:53.860
And his statement is why aren't you guys getting up?

00:05:53.860 --> 00:05:57.180
Why isn't someone taking on this giant called Goliath?

00:05:57.180 --> 00:05:59.300
And his brothers say stop it.

00:05:59.300 --> 00:06:00.400
Who do you think you are?

00:06:00.400 --> 00:06:01.400
Be quiet.

00:06:01.400 --> 00:06:03.340
Go back to your father and take care of the sheep.

00:06:03.540 --> 00:06:08.540
And David's words are is there not a cause?

00:06:08.540 --> 00:06:09.600
Something grips him eh?

00:06:09.600 --> 00:06:12.380
Is there not a cause?

00:06:12.380 --> 00:06:13.380
You take Paul.

00:06:13.380 --> 00:06:17.620
It's the same thing.

00:06:17.620 --> 00:06:22.300
He would get so jealous for God that he was sometimes ready to take on Peter saying hey

00:06:22.300 --> 00:06:27.700
if you are going to behave like these circumcised when you come and join me in Antioch then

00:06:27.700 --> 00:06:29.740
I'm going to call you out.

00:06:29.780 --> 00:06:33.700
In 2 Corinthians 11 too he's so passionate about what he's writing to the Corinthians

00:06:33.700 --> 00:06:40.220
that he says remember that I have dedicated you, betrothed you to one only.

00:06:40.220 --> 00:06:45.160
Like a chaste virgin you belong to him and to no other.

00:06:45.160 --> 00:06:47.820
You see Jesus and you see him.

00:06:47.820 --> 00:06:54.620
This Jesus who we absolutely adore and who we sing about as gentle and kind takes a whip

00:06:54.780 --> 00:06:59.620
and he begins to overturn tables and chairs and with the whip cracking the whip starts

00:06:59.620 --> 00:07:00.780
driving people out.

00:07:00.780 --> 00:07:03.820
And what does he say?

00:07:03.820 --> 00:07:08.140
That a jealousy for the house of God and the zeal of God has possessed me and I will cleanse

00:07:08.140 --> 00:07:11.820
this place.

00:07:11.820 --> 00:07:17.980
There is no reformation, no revival in the kingdom that can be initiated without a people

00:07:17.980 --> 00:07:24.060
or a leader taking on the jealousy of God.

00:07:24.140 --> 00:07:27.100
Gideon same thing.

00:07:27.100 --> 00:07:31.760
He goes in the middle of the night and starts pulling down Asherah poles and the altar that

00:07:31.760 --> 00:07:39.760
was built to Baal because he cannot now after being chosen, after being called mighty warrior

00:07:39.760 --> 00:07:42.020
he cannot stay hidden.

00:07:42.020 --> 00:07:47.180
That he goes at night is because he was a little scared but in the daylight he still

00:07:47.180 --> 00:07:49.380
stands and his father sides with him.

00:07:49.460 --> 00:07:56.020
When people take on the jealousy of God others who don't have the courage will step up also.

00:07:56.020 --> 00:07:57.020
That's the other thing.

00:07:57.020 --> 00:08:02.500
When a people or a leader is possessed with the jealousy of God others who lack the courage

00:08:02.500 --> 00:08:05.940
will now step up.

00:08:05.940 --> 00:08:10.380
And so you cannot have a divine, you cannot have the zeal of the divine warrior without

00:08:10.380 --> 00:08:13.100
having the jealousy of the divine warrior.

00:08:13.100 --> 00:08:24.540
Seen it enough, the word jealousy, zeal and jealousy come from the same word.

00:08:24.540 --> 00:08:36.820
Q-I-N-A-H, kinah in Hebrew and this is the word that is both for zeal and jealous.

00:08:36.820 --> 00:08:42.220
Zealous and jealous are both contained in this word.

00:08:42.220 --> 00:08:43.540
This is the word that's used.

00:08:43.540 --> 00:08:48.080
So when you look at scriptures in the Old Testament and it says the zeal of the Lord

00:08:48.080 --> 00:08:51.980
will accomplish it, it is this word.

00:08:51.980 --> 00:08:57.200
In some versions actually in King James' version it says the jealousy of God, not the

00:08:57.200 --> 00:09:00.500
King James, in some versions it says the jealousy of God will accomplish it.

00:09:00.500 --> 00:09:04.780
Meaning when he's jealous about something he's zealous about it.

00:09:04.780 --> 00:09:10.900
Jealousy and zealousness are together.

00:09:10.900 --> 00:09:14.300
The zeal of the Lord will accomplish it.

00:09:14.300 --> 00:09:22.580
In Isaiah 42, Isaiah 42 verse 13, it talks about God being a man of war.

00:09:22.580 --> 00:09:26.900
Go to Isaiah 42, 13.

00:09:26.900 --> 00:09:29.900
Isaiah 42, 13.

00:09:40.900 --> 00:09:43.620
Let me read from the NIV first.

00:09:43.620 --> 00:09:46.900
The Lord will march out like a champion, like a warrior.

00:09:46.900 --> 00:09:49.620
He will stir up a zeal, again the word kinah.

00:09:49.620 --> 00:09:57.220
With a shout he will raise the battle cry and will triumph over his enemies.

00:09:57.220 --> 00:09:58.380
Reading from the King James.

00:09:58.380 --> 00:10:00.500
The Lord shall go forth as a mighty man.

00:10:00.500 --> 00:10:03.220
He shall stir up jealousy like a man of war.

00:10:03.220 --> 00:10:04.220
He shall cry.

00:10:04.220 --> 00:10:05.580
Yes, he shall roar.

00:10:05.580 --> 00:10:08.500
He shall prevail against his enemies.

00:10:08.500 --> 00:10:13.580
So even the idea of the mighty warrior stirring himself up comes out of his jealousy over

00:10:13.580 --> 00:10:18.780
something that belongs to him or that he is in relationship with.

00:10:18.780 --> 00:10:22.780
That is what causes zeal to rise.

00:10:22.780 --> 00:10:27.180
One of the questions I'll ask in the end is are we jealous over the things of God?

00:10:27.180 --> 00:10:28.460
Are we jealous about the church?

00:10:28.460 --> 00:10:31.620
Are we jealous about the bride?

00:10:31.620 --> 00:10:38.300
Because zeal is impossible to possess if jealousy isn't there.

00:10:38.300 --> 00:10:47.620
In Deuteronomy 33, verse 29, different versions put it differently but the statement being

00:10:47.620 --> 00:10:50.540
made is, Israel, you are so blessed.

00:10:50.540 --> 00:10:52.540
Message says, lucky Israel.

00:10:52.540 --> 00:10:53.540
Why?

00:10:53.540 --> 00:10:58.740
Because there's a word used there for God with the many other titles that he has, Yahweh

00:10:58.740 --> 00:11:00.340
Rohi, Yahweh Shama.

00:11:00.340 --> 00:11:03.500
In Deuteronomy 33, 29, there's a name for him.

00:11:03.500 --> 00:11:04.500
It's called Yahweh Kareb.

00:11:05.500 --> 00:11:10.900
Yahweh Kareb, meaning God my glorious sword.

00:11:10.900 --> 00:11:16.060
This mighty warrior is so zealous, so jealous over his son, Israel.

00:11:16.060 --> 00:11:18.380
And he called Israel his son, Israel my son.

00:11:18.380 --> 00:11:23.340
He's so jealous over his son that there is another name for God that Israel refers to

00:11:23.340 --> 00:11:33.220
him as and it's Yahweh Kareb, which means God my glorious sword.

00:11:33.220 --> 00:11:39.420
And here is Moses writing and he is writing as God speaks and he says, blessed Israel,

00:11:39.420 --> 00:11:41.420
lucky Israel.

00:11:41.420 --> 00:11:47.380
You have God as your shield and your glorious sword and your enemies cover before you.

00:11:47.380 --> 00:11:51.580
They form before you as you trample upon their high places.

00:11:51.580 --> 00:11:57.860
The divine warrior is possessed with jealousy and therefore if you want to be ones who are

00:11:58.060 --> 00:12:04.540
able to march with him in Revelation 19, then you also have to have a jealousy that he possesses

00:12:04.540 --> 00:12:08.460
over the things that he is jealous about.

00:12:08.460 --> 00:12:11.700
Which then brings us to how do we define jealous?

00:12:11.700 --> 00:12:14.900
If God says his name is jealous, just think of that.

00:12:14.900 --> 00:12:18.340
He says, he doesn't even say I'm a jealous God.

00:12:18.340 --> 00:12:20.380
He says my name is jealous.

00:12:20.380 --> 00:12:22.020
How do we define it?

00:12:22.980 --> 00:12:31.380
So the first thing we need to understand is God does not become jealous.

00:12:31.380 --> 00:12:34.940
God does not become jealous.

00:12:34.940 --> 00:12:39.940
He is jealous.

00:12:39.940 --> 00:12:46.540
And he is not envious.

00:12:46.540 --> 00:12:51.140
Because for us, envy and jealousy exist together.

00:12:51.140 --> 00:12:52.140
God does not become jealous.

00:12:52.140 --> 00:12:56.740
He is not having a good day and suddenly goes, hit by a pang of jealousy.

00:12:56.740 --> 00:12:59.260
No, God does not become jealous.

00:12:59.260 --> 00:13:01.140
He is jealous.

00:13:01.140 --> 00:13:02.620
And we'll define jealous.

00:13:02.620 --> 00:13:05.660
He is jealous and he is not envious.

00:13:05.660 --> 00:13:08.180
He is not envious.

00:13:08.180 --> 00:13:28.180
Envy is a desire to possess something that does not belong to you.

00:13:28.180 --> 00:13:31.980
Anyone here who hasn't experienced this emotion?

00:13:31.980 --> 00:13:35.980
Praise the Lord, honest church.

00:13:35.980 --> 00:13:43.980
Envy is a desire to possess something that does not belong to you.

00:13:43.980 --> 00:13:49.980
And that is the core of Satan's rebellion.

00:13:49.980 --> 00:13:51.980
That is the core of Satan's rebellion.

00:13:51.980 --> 00:13:53.980
Because what did he want?

00:13:53.980 --> 00:13:54.980
He wanted something he did not have.

00:13:54.980 --> 00:13:55.980
What did he want?

00:13:55.980 --> 00:13:58.980
He wanted the throne of God.

00:13:58.980 --> 00:14:00.980
He wanted to be as the most high.

00:14:00.980 --> 00:14:02.980
And so that's what he offers Adam to.

00:14:02.980 --> 00:14:04.980
Don't you want to be like God?

00:14:04.980 --> 00:14:09.980
He offered to Adam what he wanted.

00:14:09.980 --> 00:14:14.980
So envy is a desire to possess something that does not belong to you.

00:14:14.980 --> 00:14:17.980
And it lies at the core of Satan's rebellion.

00:14:17.980 --> 00:14:22.980
It is something he uses with mankind continuously, uses in the church.

00:14:22.980 --> 00:14:29.980
It's one thing we really need to guard against because it goes back a long way, see.

00:14:29.980 --> 00:14:31.980
So what is God's jealousy?

00:14:31.980 --> 00:14:50.980
God's jealousy is a strong desire to maintain relational faithfulness

00:14:50.980 --> 00:14:54.980
with those who belong to him.

00:14:54.980 --> 00:14:57.980
With those who belong to him.

00:15:01.980 --> 00:15:10.980
God's jealousy is a strong desire to maintain relational faithfulness with those who belong to him.

00:15:10.980 --> 00:15:25.980
And this jealousy didn't lead to manipulation, to rivalry.

00:15:25.980 --> 00:15:30.980
It did not lead to manipulation, rivalry or even possessiveness.

00:15:30.980 --> 00:15:37.980
This jealousy led to his death.

00:15:37.980 --> 00:15:45.980
Strange, eh?

00:15:45.980 --> 00:15:51.980
So strange.

00:15:51.980 --> 00:16:02.980
His jealousy is his strong desire to maintain a relational faithfulness with me.

00:16:02.980 --> 00:16:05.980
And he doesn't do it through usurping my will.

00:16:05.980 --> 00:16:07.980
He doesn't do it through manipulating my will.

00:16:07.980 --> 00:16:10.980
He doesn't do it through possessiveness.

00:16:10.980 --> 00:16:15.980
He doesn't do it through creating rivalry or competition to reach him.

00:16:15.980 --> 00:16:18.980
He does it through his death.

00:16:18.980 --> 00:16:24.980
This jealousy led to his death.

00:16:24.980 --> 00:16:32.980
If he wasn't jealous over creation, there was no deep call to die.

00:16:32.980 --> 00:16:35.980
Because he can create more.

00:16:35.980 --> 00:16:41.980
What happens when the pie you're baking goes wrong?

00:16:41.980 --> 00:16:46.980
You trash it. You start again.

00:16:46.980 --> 00:16:58.980
Or you call people you don't like and you give it to them as a gift.

00:16:58.980 --> 00:17:03.980
This gets me, eh? That his jealousy leads to his death.

00:17:03.980 --> 00:17:12.980
But he will not cease from being jealous because it's what saves us.

00:17:12.980 --> 00:17:16.980
And if he is jealous, then this is why he grieves.

00:17:16.980 --> 00:17:20.980
If he is jealous, this is why he can be hurt.

00:17:20.980 --> 00:17:22.980
Because there's a yearning.

00:17:22.980 --> 00:17:31.980
There's a yearning to maintain relational faithfulness.

00:17:31.980 --> 00:17:35.980
You should allow his jealousy to win your heart.

00:17:35.980 --> 00:17:42.980
You should allow his jealousy to win your heart.

00:17:42.980 --> 00:17:47.980
You should allow his jealousy to win your heart.

00:17:47.980 --> 00:17:56.980
Because he's already yours. He's so jealous, he's already yours.

00:17:56.980 --> 00:18:01.980
You know, when you are very sure of someone's love for you

00:18:01.980 --> 00:18:04.980
and their jealousy to maintain that relationship with you,

00:18:04.980 --> 00:18:11.980
you know that they are already yours.

00:18:11.980 --> 00:18:13.980
You know that it doesn't matter what you do.

00:18:13.980 --> 00:18:17.980
They'll do what it takes to maintain the relationship.

00:18:17.980 --> 00:18:21.980
But you don't have to worry about, oh, will I lose out on this?

00:18:21.980 --> 00:18:23.980
Will they exchange me for someone else?

00:18:23.980 --> 00:18:29.980
Will I be discarded and become an unnecessary person

00:18:29.980 --> 00:18:31.980
because I've disappointed or I've failed?

00:18:31.980 --> 00:18:34.980
That goes away. Why?

00:18:34.980 --> 00:18:41.980
Because God is so jealous over me that I already have him.

00:18:41.980 --> 00:18:46.980
Any questions before we go on?

00:18:46.980 --> 00:18:50.980
Use his jealousy to your advantage.

00:18:50.980 --> 00:18:53.980
Allow jealousy to win your heart.

00:18:53.980 --> 00:19:00.980
Allow his jealousy to win your heart.

00:19:00.980 --> 00:19:09.980
I'm sure I've said this at least ten times before,

00:19:09.980 --> 00:19:11.980
but then there are ten new people since I said it last.

00:19:11.980 --> 00:19:18.980
Shortly before 9-11, I went to Seattle with Pastor Mike,

00:19:18.980 --> 00:19:23.980
and we went to a meeting where there was a guy called Ira speaking.

00:19:23.980 --> 00:19:28.980
And we enter and the guy turns to me and says,

00:19:28.980 --> 00:19:29.980
what's your name?

00:19:29.980 --> 00:19:30.980
I said, Jacob.

00:19:30.980 --> 00:19:37.980
And he says, Jacob, you are special to God.

00:19:37.980 --> 00:19:43.980
And he says, that doesn't mean that God will treat you extra with extra goodies

00:19:43.980 --> 00:19:47.980
or he won't give you more pocket money than he gives others.

00:19:47.980 --> 00:19:51.980
There's something about you that attracts his heart.

00:19:51.980 --> 00:19:55.980
And you will find that Satan will come and try to whoop you up many times.

00:19:55.980 --> 00:19:59.980
And every time he does that, remember that you are special to God.

00:19:59.980 --> 00:20:02.980
This was more than 12-13 years ago.

00:20:02.980 --> 00:20:04.980
But it stayed with me.

00:20:04.980 --> 00:20:08.980
And the reason it stayed with me was not because of the specialness,

00:20:08.980 --> 00:20:13.980
but because it was odd to hear God say those words.

00:20:13.980 --> 00:20:19.980
And I would say to you that he would say that to you too.

00:20:19.980 --> 00:20:25.980
And once you know that that is the jealousy he has over you,

00:20:25.980 --> 00:20:28.980
then you know you have him for the rest of your life.

00:20:28.980 --> 00:20:31.980
Can you say that one more time, those words that were spoken to you, please?

00:20:31.980 --> 00:20:33.980
Jacob, you are special to God.

00:20:33.980 --> 00:20:35.980
Aren't we all special to God?

00:20:35.980 --> 00:20:38.980
That's exactly what I said. Exactly what I said.

00:20:38.980 --> 00:20:44.980
But this man had those words for me on that day and they meant so much to me.

00:20:44.980 --> 00:20:46.980
And he would say the same thing to you.

00:20:46.980 --> 00:20:50.980
And I would say that word broke me as soon as I entered.

00:20:50.980 --> 00:20:52.980
Jacob, you are special to God.

00:20:52.980 --> 00:20:54.980
It doesn't mean that you will get an extra pocket allowance.

00:20:54.980 --> 00:20:58.980
It doesn't mean that you will be treated any better than anyone else.

00:20:58.980 --> 00:21:00.980
But you will attract his heart.

00:21:00.980 --> 00:21:06.980
And so when Satan comes and tries to whoop you up, don't throw the towel in.

00:21:06.980 --> 00:21:09.980
Stand. Because you are special to God.

00:21:09.980 --> 00:21:11.980
I came away from there.

00:21:11.980 --> 00:21:15.980
There are many other things written in the Word, but this part I always remember.

00:21:15.980 --> 00:21:23.980
And so whenever I think I'm out of sorts with God, I go back to, hey, remember what was said, eh?

00:21:23.980 --> 00:21:25.980
You have him.

00:21:25.980 --> 00:21:30.980
There's a song, the song says, you can come to me anytime.

00:21:30.980 --> 00:21:34.980
You don't have to ask or knock because I'm already yours.

00:21:34.980 --> 00:21:36.980
This is God singing.

00:21:36.980 --> 00:21:38.980
You can come anytime you want.

00:21:38.980 --> 00:21:46.980
You don't even have to knock on the door or even ask for time because I am already yours.

00:21:46.980 --> 00:21:48.980
This is not unscripted.

00:21:48.980 --> 00:21:50.980
It is from the Song of Songs.

00:21:50.980 --> 00:21:52.980
I'm my beloved, Zen.

00:21:52.980 --> 00:21:54.980
He is mine.

00:21:54.980 --> 00:21:58.980
But it comes through an understanding of his jealousy.

00:21:58.980 --> 00:22:06.980
This is why we can't, yeah, this is why, one of the things God does with his jealousy is jealousy restricts.

00:22:06.980 --> 00:22:10.980
Jealousy restricts the compromise.

00:22:10.980 --> 00:22:22.980
Jealousy restricts the compromise of our, of our own, of our own, of our own, of our own, of our own, of our own, of our own.

00:22:22.980 --> 00:22:45.980
Jealousy restricts the compromise of our exclusive set-apartedness, set-apartedness, or allegiance to him.

00:22:45.980 --> 00:22:53.980
So jealousy is like something that restricts us from compromising our set-apartedness to him.

00:22:53.980 --> 00:23:00.980
If we compromise our set-apartedness to him, we, the very idea of ecclesia is set-apart.

00:23:00.980 --> 00:23:08.980
So if we as a church, let's, let's for a moment not even think as individuals, think of the church because the word ecclesia comes from a people that are set-apart

00:23:08.980 --> 00:23:15.980
and transformed by God to be sent back into the world, set-apart from the world to be changed to be sent back into the world.

00:23:15.980 --> 00:23:36.980
And the idea is, hey, you guys are set-apart and as a church, and a church is made up of all of us, as a church, I will restrict your compromise because you're set-apart because I'm jealous over you.

00:23:36.980 --> 00:23:39.980
So he steps in when we compromise.

00:23:42.980 --> 00:23:51.980
On one hand, God is love, but this might be hard for us to digest.

00:23:51.980 --> 00:23:55.980
God is love, but it is an intolerant love.

00:23:58.980 --> 00:24:05.980
We've heard of unconditional love, we've heard of extravagant love, but we rarely hear of intolerant love.

00:24:05.980 --> 00:24:14.980
But God is love, but his love is an intolerant love in that it doesn't entertain two husbands.

00:24:15.980 --> 00:24:17.980
It doesn't entertain two husbands.

00:24:22.980 --> 00:24:26.980
Or loyalty to two masters.

00:24:26.980 --> 00:24:27.980
Two masters.

00:24:32.980 --> 00:24:50.980
So it doesn't matter whether it's mammon, other gods, and I don't mean other religions, I'm talking about other gods in our lives, pleasures, habits, our mindsets.

00:24:50.980 --> 00:24:56.980
He doesn't entertain two husbands or loyalty to two masters.

00:24:57.980 --> 00:25:02.980
That's why I say his love is intolerant. He won't entertain it.

00:25:03.980 --> 00:25:15.980
If you go to 2 Corinthians 10, sorry, 1 Corinthians 10, verse 20.

00:25:15.980 --> 00:25:38.980
And this is Paul speaking to the Corinthians who were willing to eat at the Lord's table, but also take part in guilds that they had to be part of because they were in a Roman culture that required them to attend these guilds if there were trades.

00:25:38.980 --> 00:25:42.980
1 Corinthians 10, 20, but I say that the things, let me read from the NIV.

00:25:42.980 --> 00:25:46.980
And no, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God.

00:25:47.980 --> 00:25:49.980
And I do not want you to be participants with demons.

00:25:50.980 --> 00:25:52.980
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of the demons too.

00:25:53.980 --> 00:25:55.980
You cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons.

00:25:56.980 --> 00:25:58.980
Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy?

00:25:59.980 --> 00:26:00.980
Are we stronger than he?

00:26:01.980 --> 00:26:03.980
Now listen to the message, it makes it a little simpler.

00:26:04.980 --> 00:26:08.980
Because most of us won't go for pagan festivals, but I love the way he puts it in the message.

00:26:08.980 --> 00:26:15.980
And you can't have it both ways, banqueting with the master one day and slumming with demons the next.

00:26:16.980 --> 00:26:17.980
Besides, the master won't put up with it.

00:26:18.980 --> 00:26:19.980
He wants us all or nothing.

00:26:20.980 --> 00:26:22.980
Do you think you can get off with anything less?

00:26:23.980 --> 00:26:24.980
Let me read that again.

00:26:25.980 --> 00:26:29.980
And you can't have it both ways, banqueting with the master one day, slumming with demons the next.

00:26:30.980 --> 00:26:32.980
Besides, the master won't put up with it.

00:26:33.980 --> 00:26:34.980
He wants us all or nothing.

00:26:34.980 --> 00:26:35.980
He wants us all or nothing.

00:26:36.980 --> 00:26:38.980
Do you think you can get off with anything less?

00:26:39.980 --> 00:26:41.980
The thing is, we think we can get off with less.

00:26:43.980 --> 00:26:45.980
We think we can get off with less.

00:26:46.980 --> 00:26:55.980
But then we don't realize that some of the things that are happening in our lives are actually restrictions being placed on us so that we can walk the straight and narrow.

00:26:57.980 --> 00:26:59.980
We don't realize it sometimes.

00:27:00.980 --> 00:27:02.980
But we think we can get away with less.

00:27:02.980 --> 00:27:05.980
And his jealousy will not allow that.

00:27:08.980 --> 00:27:12.980
And all of us, at some point or the other, are getting away with less, eh?

00:27:13.980 --> 00:27:14.980
In terms of time, treasure, talent, strength.

00:27:15.980 --> 00:27:16.980
Everybody in this room.

00:27:17.980 --> 00:27:18.980
Not a single exception.

00:27:19.980 --> 00:27:20.980
Starting here.

00:27:20.980 --> 00:27:33.980
Any husband who doesn't care that his wife committed adultery certainly does not love her.

00:27:34.980 --> 00:27:47.980
Any husband here or any wife here who doesn't care that his or her spouse committed adultery, it doesn't matter to them, eh, it's okay, does not love their spouse.

00:27:50.980 --> 00:27:56.980
And if that applies to us as humans, how much more to God?

00:27:57.980 --> 00:27:58.980
And this is the story of Israel.

00:27:59.980 --> 00:28:00.980
Again and again and again.

00:28:01.980 --> 00:28:03.980
Illustrated perfectly in Hosea.

00:28:04.980 --> 00:28:05.980
But again and again and again.

00:28:06.980 --> 00:28:13.980
That's why he calls us, in the New Testament, he calls, in the Book of James, he talks about an adulterous generation.

00:28:14.980 --> 00:28:15.980
In the Old Testament, he would refer to Israel.

00:28:16.980 --> 00:28:18.980
So, we are talking about the divine warrior.

00:28:18.980 --> 00:28:19.980
But why is this necessary?

00:28:20.980 --> 00:28:25.980
Because you cannot war with him unless you have the bridge in his song and Psalm 24.

00:28:26.980 --> 00:28:27.980
Clean hands, pure heart.

00:28:28.980 --> 00:28:34.980
But how can I give someone clean hands and pure heart if I do not understand his jealousy over me and my jealousy over him?

00:28:35.980 --> 00:28:40.980
This is all so intricately tied that you cannot remove jealousy and war.

00:28:41.980 --> 00:28:46.980
And it's us as a people who are made up of individuals.

00:28:47.980 --> 00:28:52.980
When you identify yourself, you identify yourself as Jacob the being.

00:28:53.980 --> 00:28:55.980
You don't identify yourself as Jacob the elbow.

00:28:56.980 --> 00:28:58.980
The elbow is part of Jacob the being.

00:28:59.980 --> 00:29:00.980
It's the same.

00:29:01.980 --> 00:29:06.980
We identify as first a body and then, yes, a body has to be made up of individuals.

00:29:07.980 --> 00:29:09.980
God deals with it that way too.

00:29:10.980 --> 00:29:13.980
We don't realize that God deals with it that way.

00:29:13.980 --> 00:29:16.980
Because our Christianity is highly individualized, we don't think like that.

00:29:17.980 --> 00:29:18.980
But he thinks like that.

00:29:20.980 --> 00:29:27.980
If there was anyone who could actually live happily as a highly individualized person, it was Yahweh.

00:29:28.980 --> 00:29:30.980
Because the very meaning of Yahweh is self-existent one.

00:29:32.980 --> 00:29:39.980
And yet, he gives away or literally dissolves his self-existent oneness.

00:29:39.980 --> 00:29:46.980
He dissolves his self-existent oneness to have something called a family.

00:29:50.980 --> 00:29:53.980
Genesis starts like that, Revelation ends like that.

00:30:00.980 --> 00:30:02.980
God's jealousy is an annoying speed bump.

00:30:03.980 --> 00:30:05.980
God's jealousy is an annoying speed bump.

00:30:05.980 --> 00:30:07.980
God's jealousy is an annoying speed bump.

00:30:10.980 --> 00:30:12.980
It's an annoying speed bump.

00:30:15.980 --> 00:30:18.980
To believers who love the world and keep God as a mistress.

00:30:19.980 --> 00:30:21.980
To believers who love the world and keep God as a mistress.

00:30:22.980 --> 00:30:24.980
God's jealousy is an annoying speed bump.

00:30:26.980 --> 00:30:32.980
So when we make statements like that, we normally don't think of ourselves because we don't keep God as a mistress.

00:30:32.980 --> 00:30:34.980
We are pretty dedicated to him.

00:30:35.980 --> 00:30:38.980
Then I just simplify it down to something narrower.

00:30:39.980 --> 00:30:44.980
That Jacob, what areas are there in your life where he is kept?

00:30:46.980 --> 00:30:50.980
And he's kept and you can do your own thing and he's kept on the side.

00:30:51.980 --> 00:30:54.980
What areas is it in your life that you do that?

00:30:56.980 --> 00:30:59.980
Because like Paul says, all or none.

00:30:59.980 --> 00:31:00.980
All or none.

00:31:02.980 --> 00:31:03.980
All or none.

00:31:05.980 --> 00:31:08.980
So whenever you think it doesn't fit you, narrow it down.

00:31:09.980 --> 00:31:14.980
Because as I look around this church, there's nobody here who keeps God on the side.

00:31:15.980 --> 00:31:20.980
You are absolutely devoted to him and delight in him and he delights in you.

00:31:21.980 --> 00:31:27.980
So on one hand there's that, on the other hand keep examining because he is perfect and he wants you to be perfect.

00:31:30.980 --> 00:31:34.980
And the more we press towards this, the more we get to battle.

00:31:35.980 --> 00:31:37.980
And battling is fun.

00:31:41.980 --> 00:31:43.980
Yeah, absolutely.

00:31:44.980 --> 00:31:45.980
Because it's his nature.

00:31:46.980 --> 00:31:47.980
It's his nature.

00:31:48.980 --> 00:31:52.980
See, when we think of battle, we think of our personal circumstances.

00:31:53.980 --> 00:31:54.980
And we think those are the battles that we fight.

00:31:55.980 --> 00:31:56.980
Those are not the battles we are called to fight.

00:31:56.980 --> 00:31:59.980
Those are supposed to be taken care of by the one who owns you.

00:32:00.980 --> 00:32:08.980
When you are talking about battles, we are talking about him saying, go forth, reproduce, subdue, replenish.

00:32:09.980 --> 00:32:19.980
And that had very little to do with Adam's provision, Adam's security, Adam's dignity, Adam's possessions, Adam's work, Adam's freedom.

00:32:20.980 --> 00:32:21.980
It had nothing to do with that.

00:32:22.980 --> 00:32:23.980
Why did it have nothing to do with that?

00:32:23.980 --> 00:32:26.980
Because all that was provided by God.

00:32:27.980 --> 00:32:30.980
And nothing in that has changed.

00:32:31.980 --> 00:32:36.980
Yes, we need to sometimes exert faith for these things that have now been broken because of the fall.

00:32:37.980 --> 00:32:41.980
But the nature of God with regard to those seven essentials hasn't changed.

00:32:42.980 --> 00:32:47.980
But the battle was really in go forth, reproduce, replenish, subdue.

00:32:48.980 --> 00:32:50.980
And that is fun because that is his very nature.

00:32:50.980 --> 00:32:55.980
You will see a God that you haven't seen then.

00:33:00.980 --> 00:33:03.980
And that is kind of what this Hebrides 2.0 is about, right?

00:33:04.980 --> 00:33:13.980
It's our little struggles that become like foxes that we spend so much time on that we don't have any energy left for other things.

00:33:14.980 --> 00:33:18.980
Which is why Jesus makes this marvelous statement in Matthew 6, 33.

00:33:19.980 --> 00:33:25.980
Seek first and all other things shall be added unto you so that you don't have to run after the things that the pagans run after.

00:33:26.980 --> 00:33:29.980
It was not seek first so that you don't have to run after the things pagans run after.

00:33:30.980 --> 00:33:33.980
It was now that you don't have to run after the things the pagans run after.

00:33:34.980 --> 00:33:35.980
Can you just run after me and go wherever I'm going?

00:33:36.980 --> 00:33:39.980
The prosperity gospel puts a full stop on it.

00:33:39.980 --> 00:33:42.980
Seek him first and you won't have to run after the things the pagans run after.

00:33:43.980 --> 00:33:45.980
That was not the intent.

00:33:46.980 --> 00:33:53.980
The intent was now that you don't have to cook or do dash, spend that time constructively cooking for somebody else.

00:33:59.980 --> 00:34:00.980
Cooking?

00:34:02.980 --> 00:34:03.980
Speed bump.

00:34:04.980 --> 00:34:05.980
Yeah.

00:34:09.980 --> 00:34:10.980
I think so.

00:34:11.980 --> 00:34:18.980
If you keep pressing in, you will know a speed bump and you will stop before.

00:34:20.980 --> 00:34:35.980
Speed bumps are when God has to put opposition, obstacles, discipline, pruning, instruction, resistance in my way so that I stop going down the idiotic way I'm going down.

00:34:36.980 --> 00:34:37.980
God resists.

00:34:37.980 --> 00:34:39.980
James chapter 3, 4 talks about it.

00:34:40.980 --> 00:34:42.980
Every time I'm proud, God resists me.

00:34:43.980 --> 00:34:47.980
And the resistance is the kind of resistance that an army puts out against another army.

00:34:48.980 --> 00:34:50.980
It's not some resistance that is simple.

00:34:51.980 --> 00:34:54.980
It is actual resistance every time I'm proud.

00:34:55.980 --> 00:34:58.980
So if I don't change, like take time?

00:34:59.980 --> 00:35:07.980
If I don't change, then it's just that the process gets more, the discipline gets a little tougher, a little tougher, a little tougher.

00:35:08.980 --> 00:35:13.980
And usually if you don't catch it, then you lose out on time.

00:35:14.980 --> 00:35:18.980
And sometimes if you don't catch it, God will take you home because you're better off in heaven.

00:35:19.980 --> 00:35:20.980
Yeah.

00:35:20.980 --> 00:35:21.980
Because there's no point, right?

00:35:21.980 --> 00:35:22.980
You're not learning.

00:35:22.980 --> 00:35:25.980
If I'm not learning here on earth, why spend more time here?

00:35:29.980 --> 00:35:30.980
So that's what happens when people die early?

00:35:31.980 --> 00:35:32.980
Do you think so, Marcus?

00:35:32.980 --> 00:35:33.980
Do you think so?

00:35:34.980 --> 00:35:38.980
Because remember we are on camera and if I answer wrongly, it won't be right.

00:35:40.980 --> 00:35:42.980
So we got to be, yeah.

00:35:43.980 --> 00:35:48.980
But there are people who die early because they are not learning.

00:35:49.980 --> 00:35:52.980
Because there was no other option but to.

00:35:53.980 --> 00:35:57.980
I mean, there are people much better than us, like Moses.

00:35:59.980 --> 00:36:00.980
Did Moses die on time?

00:36:02.980 --> 00:36:03.980
He died early.

00:36:03.980 --> 00:36:05.980
He was supposed to enter the promised land.

00:36:06.980 --> 00:36:08.980
Did Ananias and Sapphira die on time?

00:36:09.980 --> 00:36:12.980
No, they were supposed to see the flourishing of the New Kingdom.

00:36:12.980 --> 00:36:13.980
Guys like that.

00:36:14.980 --> 00:36:16.980
So we got to be super careful, right?

00:36:17.980 --> 00:36:18.980
Not super careful.

00:36:19.980 --> 00:36:20.980
Super in love.

00:36:21.980 --> 00:36:22.980
Super careful.

00:36:22.980 --> 00:36:23.980
You will die being careful.

00:36:28.980 --> 00:36:33.980
My mom used to say that before I cross the road, I would look left, right, left, right, multiple times before I would cross the road.

00:36:33.980 --> 00:36:35.980
I'm so grateful I don't do that anymore.

00:36:35.980 --> 00:36:43.980
Jealousy also, the other thing is guys, whatever draws my affections away from God will come later to strip me bare.

00:36:44.980 --> 00:36:49.980
Whatever draws my affections away from God will later come to strip me bare.

00:36:50.980 --> 00:36:52.980
And that's what I'm trying to do.

00:36:53.980 --> 00:36:55.980
I'm trying to be a good person.

00:36:56.980 --> 00:36:58.980
I'm trying to be a good person.

00:36:59.980 --> 00:37:01.980
I'm trying to be a good person.

00:37:01.980 --> 00:37:06.980
Whatever draws my affections away from God will later come and strip me bare.

00:37:07.980 --> 00:37:09.980
Like, Samson was such a mighty man.

00:37:10.980 --> 00:37:11.980
Did Samson die before his time?

00:37:11.980 --> 00:37:12.980
Yeah.

00:37:13.980 --> 00:37:17.980
Samson was such a mighty man, appointed as a judge to lead Israel.

00:37:18.980 --> 00:37:22.980
And whatever distracted him eventually stripped him.

00:37:23.980 --> 00:37:26.980
He would go to the valley of Sorek and love a woman there.

00:37:27.980 --> 00:37:29.980
Then he would go to another valley, love a woman there.

00:37:29.980 --> 00:37:31.980
He would sleep with these women.

00:37:32.980 --> 00:37:39.980
And the Bible says, and Samson with his eyes saw a woman in a valley and he went and slept with her.

00:37:40.980 --> 00:37:42.980
His eyes were plucked out.

00:37:44.980 --> 00:37:46.980
And then Delilah strips him bare.

00:37:48.980 --> 00:37:51.980
He languishes in her lap and then languishes in a prison.

00:37:51.980 --> 00:38:00.980
And so, on one hand, the jealousy of God, thank God, we should be grateful to God for the short leash that this church is on.

00:38:01.980 --> 00:38:03.980
Everyone here in this church is on a short leash.

00:38:04.980 --> 00:38:05.980
Why are we on a short leash?

00:38:06.980 --> 00:38:07.980
It's a magnificent thing.

00:38:08.980 --> 00:38:11.980
We are on a short leash because much has been given to us and so much is expected of us.

00:38:13.980 --> 00:38:18.980
So if we wear too much to the left or the right, God will say, hey, I can't allow this to happen.

00:38:18.980 --> 00:38:20.980
I put too much fertilizer into your tree.

00:38:23.980 --> 00:38:25.980
So praise God that we are on a short leash.

00:38:36.980 --> 00:38:41.980
Jealousy also encapsulates God's commitment to bring him glory.

00:38:41.980 --> 00:38:48.980
Jealousy is God's commitment to bring himself glory.

00:38:56.980 --> 00:38:58.980
Jealousy is God's commitment to bring himself glory.

00:38:59.980 --> 00:39:05.980
Why? Because he's a creator and he intends creation to know him for who he is.

00:39:05.980 --> 00:39:14.980
He is a creator and he intends creation to know him for who he is.

00:39:25.980 --> 00:39:32.980
And he won't let his cardboard or his glory, he won't let his cardboard or glory or weight or splendor or magnificence,

00:39:32.980 --> 00:39:43.980
he won't let it be distorted, adulterated or misrepresented by his people.

00:39:44.980 --> 00:39:48.980
He's okay if people in the world did that, but he doesn't like it when his people do that.

00:39:50.980 --> 00:39:52.980
Just remember that, eh?

00:39:55.980 --> 00:39:56.980
Just remember that.

00:39:56.980 --> 00:40:00.980
This is why Israel could never get away with just having the temple.

00:40:00.980 --> 00:40:02.980
They thought if they have the temple, they have God.

00:40:03.980 --> 00:40:06.980
They quickly realized that God cared two hoots for the temple.

00:40:09.980 --> 00:40:10.980
It is crazy.

00:40:10.980 --> 00:40:13.980
They thought, I mean, the temple was where God dwelt.

00:40:14.980 --> 00:40:16.980
He said, build me a temple.

00:40:16.980 --> 00:40:17.980
He said, build it like this.

00:40:17.980 --> 00:40:18.980
He gave them instructions.

00:40:19.980 --> 00:40:23.980
He had two sets of tablets made so that they could build a temple.

00:40:23.980 --> 00:40:27.980
He had two sets of tablets made so that they could get it right.

00:40:27.980 --> 00:40:31.980
And then after all that, when they began to do things, two things happened.

00:40:31.980 --> 00:40:37.980
One, multiple times during Israel's journey, he would exile them.

00:40:37.980 --> 00:40:41.980
Or he would have some army come in and completely destroy the temple.

00:40:41.980 --> 00:40:46.980
Why? Because his thing was, you can't be this and that.

00:40:47.980 --> 00:40:49.980
Others want to say about things about me, I'm okay.

00:40:49.980 --> 00:40:56.980
But you cannot distort my glory and think that you can get away with it because you are the ones who are supposed to represent me.

00:40:56.980 --> 00:40:58.980
This is why Jesus takes a whip.

00:41:00.980 --> 00:41:05.980
He says, you've turned my temple into a place of, into a den of thieves.

00:41:05.980 --> 00:41:06.980
That I cannot allow.

00:41:06.980 --> 00:41:07.980
And he's not allowing it.

00:41:07.980 --> 00:41:11.980
Why? Because you are defiling the courts of the Gentiles too.

00:41:11.980 --> 00:41:12.980
That's why they set up everything.

00:41:19.980 --> 00:41:35.980
He would rather have his name shamed than deceitfully make it look good.

00:41:35.980 --> 00:41:50.980
He would rather have the Babylonians think that Yahweh is powerless than continue in the temple if his people aren't revering him.

00:41:50.980 --> 00:41:57.980
Ichabod is a result of his jealousy over his name.

00:41:57.980 --> 00:42:00.980
Ichabod means the glory has departed.

00:42:00.980 --> 00:42:05.980
It should be the thing we must fear most as a church and as individuals.

00:42:05.980 --> 00:42:16.980
That what if his weight, his splendor, his magnificence, his voice departs because of my continuous dullness in areas of my life.

00:42:16.980 --> 00:42:19.980
Continuous resistance in areas of my life.

00:42:19.980 --> 00:42:22.980
In that area, God won't ever take his spirit away from me.

00:42:22.980 --> 00:42:23.980
That's an Old Testament thing.

00:42:23.980 --> 00:42:24.980
I'll always have a spirit.

00:42:24.980 --> 00:42:27.980
But in the areas where I'm continuously dull and resistant.

00:42:28.980 --> 00:42:37.980
What if the weight and the splendor and the magnificence of God that he wants to display through me suddenly dulls it?

00:42:37.980 --> 00:42:38.980
It's something we have to be careful of.

00:42:38.980 --> 00:42:43.980
And that's why many of the things that God says, hey, here's the thing.

00:42:43.980 --> 00:42:52.980
I would rather hear God wrong and find out later than hear God and not do something.

00:42:52.980 --> 00:42:53.980
Just hear again.

00:42:53.980 --> 00:42:59.980
It is better to hear God and find out you are wrong in the process of going about it.

00:42:59.980 --> 00:43:03.980
You find out you're wrong and you say, oh, shucks got it wrong.

00:43:03.980 --> 00:43:09.980
And then say sorry and say, man, I missed it and messed up and messed up a few lives in the process.

00:43:09.980 --> 00:43:18.980
Not too badly, but rather go that route than say, well, let's not go with this because it's too tough.

00:43:18.980 --> 00:43:20.980
Or we don't have what it takes.

00:43:20.980 --> 00:43:21.980
So we're not good enough.

00:43:21.980 --> 00:43:31.980
You can't amend what he says because he's a jealous God who loves what he says and knows that it is possible only through him.

00:43:36.980 --> 00:43:37.980
Any questions, guys?

00:43:37.980 --> 00:43:40.980
Okay, so let's go back to Isaiah 42, verse 13.

00:43:40.980 --> 00:43:47.980
And it says that he's a man of war who stirs up his jealousy.

00:43:47.980 --> 00:43:48.980
Jealousy.

00:43:48.980 --> 00:43:54.980
He's a man of war who stirs up his jealousy and thereby has zeal for battle.

00:43:54.980 --> 00:43:58.980
Now, let's look at other places where he stirs up his jealousy.

00:43:58.980 --> 00:44:04.980
He's a man of war who stirs up his jealousy and thereby has zeal for battle.

00:44:04.980 --> 00:44:07.980
Let's look at other places where he stirs up his jealousy.

00:44:07.980 --> 00:44:13.980
So in John 2, 17, it is jealousy for his house.

00:44:19.980 --> 00:44:23.980
Jealousy for his house where he takes a whip and goes about cleansing the house.

00:44:23.980 --> 00:44:27.980
Guys, as one's in charge of something, you should be jealous.

00:44:29.980 --> 00:44:30.980
You should be jealous.

00:44:31.980 --> 00:44:33.980
Even when you're misunderstood.

00:44:33.980 --> 00:44:35.980
Jesus was thoroughly misunderstood.

00:44:35.980 --> 00:44:38.980
It depends on what I do with my jealousy.

00:44:39.980 --> 00:44:50.980
If my jealousy spits fire that consumes, then my jealousy is not the type of jealousy that God has.

00:44:50.980 --> 00:44:55.980
Because if he was jealous that way, we would all be consumed, me particularly, many times over.

00:44:56.980 --> 00:45:01.980
But there is a way that jealousy over what you're in charge of should come up.

00:45:01.980 --> 00:45:05.980
Otherwise, how will you protect? How will you raise? How will you nurture?

00:45:05.980 --> 00:45:08.980
How will you lay down your life for what you're not jealous over?

00:45:08.980 --> 00:45:12.980
Is it even possible to lay down your life for what you're not jealous over?

00:45:13.980 --> 00:45:16.980
Why is it that your spouse feels safe with you?

00:45:16.980 --> 00:45:24.980
Because even though you're a gentle person, if anyone as much as raises a hand against her, line in you comes up.

00:45:24.980 --> 00:45:27.980
How? Why is she so confident in you?

00:45:27.980 --> 00:45:32.980
Because she knows that he might be gentle, he might have a gentle voice, he never raises his voice.

00:45:32.980 --> 00:45:37.980
But my God, anybody touches me, Kamal will bash them up.

00:45:45.980 --> 00:45:46.980
So one was jealousy.

00:45:46.980 --> 00:45:49.980
Wherever you see the words, the zeal of the Lord will accomplish it.

00:45:49.980 --> 00:45:54.980
In the Old Testament, always remember, it simply means the jealousy of the Lord will accomplish it.

00:45:54.980 --> 00:45:55.980
That's what it means.

00:45:58.980 --> 00:45:59.980
Another place.

00:46:02.980 --> 00:46:04.980
Jealousy for the church.

00:46:04.980 --> 00:46:08.980
1 Corinthians 3.17.

00:46:08.980 --> 00:46:11.980
3.17, yeah.

00:46:11.980 --> 00:46:13.980
Jealousy for the church.

00:46:13.980 --> 00:46:16.980
Look at what he says in 3.16 and 17.

00:46:16.980 --> 00:46:19.980
Don't you know that you are the temple of God?

00:46:19.980 --> 00:46:23.980
If anyone destroys this temple, I will destroy you.

00:46:27.980 --> 00:46:34.980
He's talking about the neos, as in this temple, not this temple, this temple.

00:46:34.980 --> 00:46:37.980
1 Corinthians 3.16, 17.

00:46:37.980 --> 00:46:39.980
Can we read it from the scripture?

00:46:43.980 --> 00:46:49.980
1 Corinthians 3.16 and 17 from the NIV.

00:46:49.980 --> 00:46:52.980
Don't you know that you yourself are the temple of God?

00:46:52.980 --> 00:46:54.980
You are the temple of God.

00:46:54.980 --> 00:46:56.980
You are the temple of God.

00:46:56.980 --> 00:46:58.980
You are the temple of God.

00:46:58.980 --> 00:47:00.980
You are the temple of God.

00:47:00.980 --> 00:47:02.980
From the NIV.

00:47:02.980 --> 00:47:06.980
Don't you know that you yourself are God's temple and God's Spirit dwells in your midst?

00:47:06.980 --> 00:47:09.980
If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy that person.

00:47:09.980 --> 00:47:12.980
For God's temple is sacred and you are the temple.

00:47:12.980 --> 00:47:14.980
That is jealousy.

00:47:22.980 --> 00:47:25.980
Each of these can be taken and elaborated.

00:47:25.980 --> 00:47:28.980
1 Corinthians 6.19 talks about God's temple too.

00:47:28.980 --> 00:47:30.980
Don't you know that you are the temple of the living God?

00:47:30.980 --> 00:47:32.980
But that is this temple, the body that you are.

00:47:32.980 --> 00:47:34.980
In 3.16, it is not talking about this.

00:47:34.980 --> 00:47:38.980
It's talking about the neos or the body.

00:47:38.980 --> 00:47:40.980
Let's look at another one.

00:47:43.980 --> 00:47:45.980
Canucks, canucks, canucks.

00:47:45.980 --> 00:47:48.980
Just keep repeating it. He'll come down.

00:47:48.980 --> 00:47:50.980
See, you should try it.

00:47:50.980 --> 00:47:52.980
You won't have to walk up and down.

00:47:54.980 --> 00:47:56.980
2 Corinthians 11.

00:47:58.980 --> 00:48:00.980
2.

00:48:00.980 --> 00:48:02.980
Jealousy for the bride.

00:48:04.980 --> 00:48:06.980
Hey!

00:48:08.980 --> 00:48:10.980
Imitate me in this and you will imitate Christ.

00:48:12.980 --> 00:48:14.980
I'm jealous for the bride of Christ.

00:48:16.980 --> 00:48:20.980
I don't think you can lead a church if you're not jealous for the bride of Christ.

00:48:20.980 --> 00:48:26.980
I think a pastor who's not jealous for the bride of Christ is not a pastor that can lead a church.

00:48:28.980 --> 00:48:30.980
What does that mean?

00:48:30.980 --> 00:48:32.980
Jealous for...

00:48:32.980 --> 00:48:34.980
I was going to ask you this at the end.

00:48:34.980 --> 00:48:36.980
Are you jealous for the bride?

00:48:36.980 --> 00:48:38.980
Go to Ephesians 5.27.

00:48:38.980 --> 00:48:40.980
It talks about it.

00:48:40.980 --> 00:48:44.980
Is it your desire that she be presented spotless and blemishless?

00:48:46.980 --> 00:48:48.980
What happens when she is dressed wrong?

00:48:50.980 --> 00:48:52.980
Do you point it out?

00:48:52.980 --> 00:48:54.980
What happens if a slip is showing?

00:48:54.980 --> 00:48:56.980
Do you tell her?

00:48:56.980 --> 00:48:58.980
What happens if anyone touches her?

00:48:58.980 --> 00:49:00.980
If anyone dishonours her?

00:49:00.980 --> 00:49:02.980
If anyone shames her?

00:49:02.980 --> 00:49:04.980
What happens when the bridegroom says, this is how it should be?

00:49:04.980 --> 00:49:06.980
And the bridesmaids say, this is how it should be.

00:49:06.980 --> 00:49:08.980
Do you amend it or do you keep it?

00:49:08.980 --> 00:49:10.980
Does she feel protected?

00:49:12.980 --> 00:49:14.980
Will you do anything for the bride?

00:49:14.980 --> 00:49:16.980
Lay your life down for the bride?

00:49:26.980 --> 00:49:28.980
Jealousy for the bride.

00:49:28.980 --> 00:49:30.980
You see it in Ephesians 5.25-30.

00:49:30.980 --> 00:49:32.980
You see it in 2 Corinthians 11-2.

00:49:34.980 --> 00:49:36.980
Increase of government.

00:49:36.980 --> 00:49:38.980
Isaiah 9-7.

00:49:38.980 --> 00:49:40.980
It says that the government shall increase upon his shoulders.

00:49:40.980 --> 00:49:42.980
And you know how it will be done?

00:49:42.980 --> 00:49:44.980
The zeal or the jealousy of the Lord will accomplish it.

00:49:44.980 --> 00:49:46.980
You know why the divine warrior can go marching out?

00:49:46.980 --> 00:49:50.980
You know why sons and daughters will dance before him with abandon?

00:49:50.980 --> 00:49:54.980
You know why they'll recognize the lion and the lamb?

00:49:54.980 --> 00:49:56.980
You know why there'll be a torch bearing generation?

00:49:56.980 --> 00:50:00.980
Because his jealousy, his zeal will accomplish it.

00:50:00.980 --> 00:50:06.980
And the only way that we can buy into it is when we begin to feel the same jealousy

00:50:06.980 --> 00:50:12.980
that he has over 18 year olds, 19 year olds, 20 year olds across the earth

00:50:12.980 --> 00:50:18.980
that have not found what it is that you have found.

00:50:18.980 --> 00:50:20.980
You know why the divine warrior can go marching out?

00:50:20.980 --> 00:50:22.980
Because he will be the zeal of the Lord.

00:50:22.980 --> 00:50:26.980
One of the greatest aches in my heart when I go to different nations is

00:50:26.980 --> 00:50:30.980
you go tell people and they are like sponges wanting to eat and drink

00:50:30.980 --> 00:50:36.980
saying yes, yes, yes and then you leave and when you leave they have nothing to go back to.

00:50:44.980 --> 00:50:46.980
The zeal of the Lord will accomplish it.

00:50:46.980 --> 00:50:50.980
The zeal of Jacob or the zeal of Acts of Eden will never accomplish it.

00:50:50.980 --> 00:50:54.980
But if we buy into the jealousy of God over his creation, especially the young,

00:50:54.980 --> 00:51:00.980
at this point in history, the zeal of the Lord will accomplish it.

00:51:06.980 --> 00:51:10.980
How far will you go if your wife is lost?

00:51:10.980 --> 00:51:14.980
You're centered on a cruise.

00:51:16.980 --> 00:51:20.980
She got off at the wrong port, lost on some amazing island,

00:51:20.980 --> 00:51:24.980
sending you texts saying I'm on this island, which island?

00:51:24.980 --> 00:51:26.980
I don't know, I don't have GPS.

00:51:26.980 --> 00:51:28.980
What will you do? What will you not do?

00:51:28.980 --> 00:51:32.980
How far will you go? How far will you go?

00:51:32.980 --> 00:51:40.980
I'm saying to you looking at every husband here, to the ends of the earth.

00:51:40.980 --> 00:51:44.980
Why? Because she cooked well?

00:51:46.980 --> 00:51:52.980
It'll be because of the intense jealousy you have that brings up such protection and love in your heart.

00:51:52.980 --> 00:51:55.980
And you will go to the ends of the earth.

00:51:55.980 --> 00:52:00.980
How is it possible to go to the ends of the earth if I am not possessed with the jealousy?

00:52:00.980 --> 00:52:04.980
For that one thing which the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit are obsessed with.

00:52:04.980 --> 00:52:08.980
And what is their magnificent obsession? The bride.

00:52:08.980 --> 00:52:12.980
How do we know that? Because the Spirit formed the bride.

00:52:12.980 --> 00:52:14.980
Christ paid for the bride.

00:52:14.980 --> 00:52:18.980
The Father sent the Son for the bride.

00:52:18.980 --> 00:52:22.980
The Father was paid a dowry by the bridegroom.

00:52:22.980 --> 00:52:25.980
The dowry was paid in blood.

00:52:25.980 --> 00:52:30.980
And as he waits to come back and take his bride for the big marriage feast,

00:52:30.980 --> 00:52:34.980
he left us with the Holy Spirit to prepare us for that day.

00:52:34.980 --> 00:52:40.980
That church is the magnificent obsession of the Father, Son and the Spirit.

00:52:40.980 --> 00:52:47.980
Until I have a jealousy over that which he is jealous over, I will not go looking for her.

00:52:49.980 --> 00:52:54.980
The shepherd does not go looking for the sheep just because of his love.

00:52:54.980 --> 00:52:58.980
He goes because it's a jealous love. It's an intolerant love.

00:52:58.980 --> 00:53:05.980
It cannot bear the thought of predators eating it or gnawing at it or chomping it or leaving it mutated.

00:53:05.980 --> 00:53:10.980
It cannot bear the thought of a sheep that belongs to you carrying the brand of some other shepherd.

00:53:10.980 --> 00:53:13.980
It cannot bear the thought of a sheep bleating in a hole.

00:53:13.980 --> 00:53:22.980
When I went for Roslyn's funeral memorial, Matt was telling me about a cow that wandered off and got caught in a ditch.

00:53:22.980 --> 00:53:26.980
And Matt came with pictures of the cow.

00:53:26.980 --> 00:53:30.980
It had gotten lost in a ditch. And you know what Matt did?

00:53:30.980 --> 00:53:33.980
Matt went and brought a tractor and a bulldozer.

00:53:33.980 --> 00:53:40.980
I mean the stuff that you normally build houses with is what he is bringing to get the blooming cow out of the ditch.

00:53:45.980 --> 00:53:48.980
There's something about the jealousy of God that we need to get.

00:53:54.980 --> 00:53:59.980
Blessed are you spouses for jealous husbands and wives, eh? Blessed are you.

00:54:03.980 --> 00:54:18.980
He's jealous when he wants to increase his government as in his rule.

00:54:18.980 --> 00:54:21.980
Zeal of the Lord will accomplish it.

00:54:21.980 --> 00:54:25.980
He's jealous in Isaiah 26, 11.

00:54:25.980 --> 00:54:28.980
He's jealous when he wants to consume his enemies.

00:54:28.980 --> 00:54:33.980
Isaiah 26, 11.

00:54:33.980 --> 00:54:38.980
Isaiah 26, 11.

00:54:38.980 --> 00:54:47.980
Lord, your hand is lifted high, but they do not see it.

00:54:47.980 --> 00:54:52.980
Let them see your zeal or jealousy for your people and be put to shame.

00:54:52.980 --> 00:54:55.980
Let the fire reserved for your enemies consume them.

00:54:55.980 --> 00:55:03.980
I love the next one.

00:55:03.980 --> 00:55:10.980
You know, for us to follow the Divine Warrior, we have to be cloaked with what he's cloaked in.

00:55:10.980 --> 00:55:13.980
And guess what he's cloaked in? Isaiah 59, 17.

00:55:13.980 --> 00:55:18.980
War righteousness as a breastplate or the helmet of salvation.

00:55:18.980 --> 00:55:24.980
And then wrapped himself or cloaked himself in jealousy and zeal.

00:55:24.980 --> 00:55:27.980
Cloaked himself in zeal.

00:55:27.980 --> 00:55:32.980
That's how God is presented as a warrior in Isaiah 59, 17.

00:55:32.980 --> 00:55:36.980
He's cloaked himself in zeal.

00:55:36.980 --> 00:55:40.980
Come on, man. You want this.

00:55:40.980 --> 00:55:45.980
It'll have you go to the ends of the earth, man.

00:55:45.980 --> 00:55:53.980
The odd thing is in Exodus 34, verse 11, where it says that God is a jealous God.

00:55:53.980 --> 00:55:59.980
When he says, my name is jealous, what he says after that is, observe what I command you today.

00:55:59.980 --> 00:56:03.980
Then he says, here's what I'll do. I'll drive out the enemy before you.

00:56:03.980 --> 00:56:06.980
I'll make sure you don't make any treaties with the culture around you.

00:56:06.980 --> 00:56:09.980
And tear down altars and poles.

00:56:09.980 --> 00:56:13.980
Look at the three things he says after he says he's jealous.

00:56:13.980 --> 00:56:17.980
I will drive out the enemy.

00:56:20.980 --> 00:56:30.980
Then he says, do not get cozy with the culture around you.

00:56:32.980 --> 00:56:38.980
Then he says, tear down altars.

00:56:39.980 --> 00:56:42.980
I will drive out enemies.

00:56:42.980 --> 00:56:48.980
This is why in Deuteronomy 9, verse 1 to 5, he says, hey, I'm sending you into a place which has high walls.

00:56:48.980 --> 00:56:52.980
I'm sending you into a place where giants dwell.

00:56:52.980 --> 00:56:56.980
I'm sending you into a place where you've heard of how fierce they are.

00:56:56.980 --> 00:57:01.980
Now that I've frightened you enough, I also want to tell you that I'm going ahead of you.

00:57:01.980 --> 00:57:03.980
And I'll drive them out.

00:57:03.980 --> 00:57:05.980
And then you go.

00:57:05.980 --> 00:57:07.980
Make sure you do two things.

00:57:07.980 --> 00:57:11.980
One, do not compromise with the cultures around you because it will ensnare you.

00:57:11.980 --> 00:57:17.980
And two, destroy their altars and share of poles because I've driven them out.

00:57:17.980 --> 00:57:26.980
So on one hand, there is jealousy that drives out the enemy so that you can possess what is actually his.

00:57:26.980 --> 00:57:31.980
On the other hand, do not compromise your purity.

00:57:31.980 --> 00:57:38.980
And on the third hand, destroy what is evil so that the generation after you won't forget and go back to it.

00:57:38.980 --> 00:57:40.980
Crazy, eh? Destroy.

00:57:40.980 --> 00:57:42.980
Why do you think God is going after the young?

00:57:42.980 --> 00:57:45.980
Because us 55-year-olds are not good enough.

00:57:45.980 --> 00:57:46.980
We are wiser.

00:57:46.980 --> 00:57:56.980
But he's going after the young so that a generation after this day don't go back to the same altars and poles that we destroyed, that we didn't destroy.

00:58:02.980 --> 00:58:05.980
Same thing happened, man, in the 1970s.

00:58:05.980 --> 00:58:07.980
There was something called the Jesus Revolution.

00:58:07.980 --> 00:58:09.980
Changed the face of America.

00:58:09.980 --> 00:58:11.980
But what happened?

00:58:13.980 --> 00:58:19.980
It was my first meeting with someone who was a believer.

00:58:19.980 --> 00:58:22.980
A bunch of guys came to Bihar in India.

00:58:22.980 --> 00:58:25.980
Bihar is known as a graveyard of Christianity in India.

00:58:25.980 --> 00:58:27.980
This is in the 1970s.

00:58:27.980 --> 00:58:30.980
They come and they look like complete hippies.

00:58:30.980 --> 00:58:34.980
Long hair, guitars, slippers and they don't have food to eat.

00:58:34.980 --> 00:58:36.980
I would take them home and make them omelets.

00:58:36.980 --> 00:58:40.980
Not me. I'd ask the person at home to make them omelets.

00:58:40.980 --> 00:58:43.980
Became good friends and they would have...

00:58:43.980 --> 00:58:45.980
The only song they knew was,

00:58:45.980 --> 00:58:49.980
Jesus is the answer for the world today.

00:58:49.980 --> 00:58:50.980
And then they'd learn a Hindi song.

00:58:50.980 --> 00:58:53.980
Jai Jai Prabhu Ishukhe.

00:58:53.980 --> 00:58:56.980
With this amazing American accent.

00:58:56.980 --> 00:59:00.980
So this is all they sang.

00:59:00.980 --> 00:59:01.980
Two songs.

00:59:01.980 --> 00:59:05.980
But my God, one of them came up to me and he comes up to me and says,

00:59:05.980 --> 00:59:07.980
Have you received Jesus Christ as Lord?

00:59:07.980 --> 00:59:11.980
I didn't know what it meant but I knew I needed Jesus and I started weeping.

00:59:11.980 --> 00:59:13.980
And I remember my dad and mom saying,

00:59:13.980 --> 00:59:15.980
Don't worry. Don't get too fanatical about that stuff.

00:59:15.980 --> 00:59:17.980
You have Jesus. Don't worry about anything else.

00:59:17.980 --> 00:59:19.980
Because we came from a traditional church.

00:59:19.980 --> 00:59:21.980
But the point is this.

00:59:21.980 --> 00:59:25.980
These guys in the 1970s had something happen to them, man.

00:59:25.980 --> 00:59:31.980
And it really changed the shape of both evangelism around the world and the face of America.

00:59:31.980 --> 00:59:35.980
But if you don't destroy the altars and if you don't destroy the Asherah poles,

00:59:35.980 --> 00:59:40.980
it is only a generation away when people return to what should have been destroyed.

00:59:40.980 --> 00:59:44.980
Therefore we need a divine warrior who has people who can march with him

00:59:44.980 --> 00:59:47.980
because the divine warrior does this through his people.

00:59:47.980 --> 00:59:50.980
This day I command you.

00:59:50.980 --> 00:59:52.980
I will drive out the enemy from before you.

00:59:52.980 --> 00:59:55.980
Do not compromise with the culture around you because it will ensnare you.

00:59:55.980 --> 00:59:59.980
Tear down the altars and the Asherah poles because if you don't do this,

00:59:59.980 --> 01:00:00.980
I'll tell you what's going to happen.

01:00:00.980 --> 01:00:03.980
And history has been repeating itself again and again and again.

01:00:10.980 --> 01:00:12.980
Are you jealous for the bride?

01:00:14.980 --> 01:00:16.980
If she's dressed up wrong,

01:00:16.980 --> 01:00:18.980
will you correct it?

01:00:18.980 --> 01:00:20.980
If her slip is showing,

01:00:20.980 --> 01:00:24.980
will you tell her if anyone touches her, dishonours her, shames her,

01:00:24.980 --> 01:00:26.980
will you rise up?

01:00:27.980 --> 01:00:29.980
Is your love the kind that would die for her,

01:00:29.980 --> 01:00:31.980
that would live for her,

01:00:31.980 --> 01:00:33.980
that would lose everything for her,

01:00:33.980 --> 01:00:35.980
that would protect her,

01:00:35.980 --> 01:00:37.980
that would keep her spotless?

01:00:41.980 --> 01:00:44.980
That is jealousy.

01:00:44.980 --> 01:00:46.980
And if you are jealous like that,

01:00:46.980 --> 01:00:48.980
a strange thing will happen.

01:00:48.980 --> 01:00:54.980
You will find yourself plonk in the middle of Revelation 19, 11 to 16.

01:00:54.980 --> 01:00:57.980
If you are jealous like that,

01:00:57.980 --> 01:00:59.980
you will find yourself,

01:00:59.980 --> 01:01:01.980
hi Shiloh,

01:01:01.980 --> 01:01:06.980
you will find yourself plonk in the middle of Revelation 19, 11 to 16.

01:01:06.980 --> 01:01:09.980
And I saw one who was seated on the white horse,

01:01:09.980 --> 01:01:12.980
on his white horse,

01:01:12.980 --> 01:01:14.980
on his robe,

01:01:14.980 --> 01:01:16.980
his robes were dipped in blood,

01:01:18.980 --> 01:01:20.980
on his thigh were the words,

01:01:20.980 --> 01:01:22.980
King of kings and Lord of lords.

01:01:24.980 --> 01:01:26.980
His face was bright and shining,

01:01:26.980 --> 01:01:28.980
out of his mouth there came a sword.

01:01:29.980 --> 01:01:34.980
And behind him was his army,

01:01:34.980 --> 01:01:36.980
not made up of angels.

01:01:36.980 --> 01:01:38.980
How do we know that?

01:01:38.980 --> 01:01:39.980
Because it said,

01:01:39.980 --> 01:01:42.980
there were white linen.

01:01:44.980 --> 01:01:46.980
It's talking about an army of saints.

01:01:46.980 --> 01:01:48.980
And they followed him.

01:01:48.980 --> 01:01:50.980
You get jealous for the Lord,

01:01:50.980 --> 01:01:54.980
and you will find yourself plonk in the middle of Revelation 19, 11 to 16.

01:01:54.980 --> 01:01:57.980
And Derek will do communion next week.

01:01:59.980 --> 01:02:01.980
Let's pray.

01:02:01.980 --> 01:02:04.980
Father, earlier we stood up when Derek was speaking.

01:02:04.980 --> 01:02:09.980
And Father, I just pray that the ones that stood up,

01:02:10.980 --> 01:02:12.980
have a desire to say,

01:02:12.980 --> 01:02:14.980
this is what I feel God calling me into today.

01:02:14.980 --> 01:02:17.980
That they would come and either speak to Derek or me.

01:02:17.980 --> 01:02:19.980
Saying, that day when I stood up,

01:02:19.980 --> 01:02:21.980
this is what I felt in my heart,

01:02:21.980 --> 01:02:23.980
this is what I felt God is calling me to.

01:02:23.980 --> 01:02:25.980
Based on what I felt,

01:02:25.980 --> 01:02:27.980
I feel that I am called to this day.

01:02:27.980 --> 01:02:30.980
This is what I felt God is calling me to.

01:02:30.980 --> 01:02:32.980
Based on what you were speaking.

01:02:32.980 --> 01:02:34.980
So that's one thing about.

01:02:40.980 --> 01:02:42.980
I don't know how to cultivate jealousy right now.

01:02:42.980 --> 01:02:44.980
Is there anything you want us to do before we leave?

01:02:57.980 --> 01:02:59.980
I don't know Father.

01:03:27.980 --> 01:03:29.980
It's not a concept we are used to.

01:03:29.980 --> 01:03:33.980
You being a jealous God and jealousy being something so important.

01:03:34.980 --> 01:03:36.980
So I just pray Father that right now,

01:03:36.980 --> 01:03:38.980
if there are people in the church that want to pray,

01:03:38.980 --> 01:03:42.980
just maybe three people who want to pray down this line,

01:03:42.980 --> 01:03:44.980
then we'll just end with that.

01:03:44.980 --> 01:03:46.980
Because I don't know how to.

01:03:57.980 --> 01:04:20.980
So this is something that you have exemplified.

01:04:20.980 --> 01:04:23.980
You have exemplified all the old testament and new testament.

01:04:23.980 --> 01:04:25.980
You have exemplified throughout your life.

01:04:25.980 --> 01:04:27.980
And you say come and ask.

01:04:27.980 --> 01:04:29.980
So Father we come and ask,

01:04:29.980 --> 01:04:31.980
can we open our eyes?

01:04:31.980 --> 01:04:33.980
Can we begin to see this?

01:04:33.980 --> 01:04:35.980
Can we begin to just grasp and glimpse of it?

01:04:35.980 --> 01:04:37.980
Because this is what it is like.

01:04:37.980 --> 01:04:39.980
And this area of my life is terrible.

01:04:39.980 --> 01:04:43.980
Can we begin to grasp our hearts so that we respond?

01:04:43.980 --> 01:04:46.980
So that we become jealous when you arrive.

01:04:46.980 --> 01:04:49.980
Because it's where you're chosen to carry your heart.

01:04:49.980 --> 01:04:51.980
And if your heart is jealous,

01:04:51.980 --> 01:04:56.980
then it's the jealousy that is ours to carry.

01:04:56.980 --> 01:04:58.980
If we're able, maybe we respond, maybe we ask,

01:04:58.980 --> 01:05:01.980
say hey this is the jealousy I want to carry.

01:05:01.980 --> 01:05:06.980
Teach me, train me so that I know how to mark you.

01:05:21.980 --> 01:05:26.980
Father we don't want to be anything else.

01:05:26.980 --> 01:05:29.980
We don't want to be anything you want for us.

01:05:29.980 --> 01:05:33.980
We're the birds that were spoken to before all were nothing.

01:05:33.980 --> 01:05:36.980
We want to be all for you.

01:05:36.980 --> 01:05:40.980
Other things to love, other things to be distracted with.

01:05:40.980 --> 01:05:42.980
Other things that are not for you.

01:05:42.980 --> 01:05:45.980
We don't want any part of that in us.

01:05:46.980 --> 01:05:50.980
So we want to give all of our attention to all of you.

01:05:55.980 --> 01:06:02.980
Father I choose the areas that I'm jealous in.

01:06:02.980 --> 01:06:09.980
There's so many compromises in my life in other areas.

01:06:09.980 --> 01:06:16.980
My husband was only jealous in some areas and compromising in other areas.

01:06:16.980 --> 01:06:21.980
His wife wouldn't be able to trust him, his wife wouldn't be able to depend on him.

01:06:21.980 --> 01:06:26.980
His wife wouldn't be sure of him.

01:06:26.980 --> 01:06:30.980
So on one hand I can say stuff like when it comes to the bride it's at me,

01:06:30.980 --> 01:06:33.980
but what about other areas father?

01:06:33.980 --> 01:06:37.980
Where there's compromise in my life.

01:06:37.980 --> 01:06:43.980
So even though I speak for myself I pray this for others in this room.

01:06:43.980 --> 01:06:50.980
I would like to repent of the multiple areas of compromise on a regular basis in my life.

01:06:50.980 --> 01:06:57.980
Where I'm not jealous for your weight, splendor, magnificence, purity, holiness, truth.

01:06:59.980 --> 01:07:02.980
I ask for a small favor father.

01:07:02.980 --> 01:07:08.980
With fear and trembling in my life and in the life of this church.

01:07:10.980 --> 01:07:13.980
Gentle Jesus, Lord and Master.

01:07:16.980 --> 01:07:25.980
Would you upturn tables in my life and cleanse the temple precincts from things that are habitually compromised.

01:07:26.980 --> 01:07:34.980
Please Lord, not even for my own sake, not even for my own righteousness or holiness.

01:07:34.980 --> 01:07:38.980
No, I've already been made holy.

01:07:38.980 --> 01:07:44.980
But for your sake O God, so that you get to do what you want with me, with this church.

01:07:44.980 --> 01:07:49.980
You walked into the temple.

01:07:49.980 --> 01:07:53.980
I grieved you Jesus, what is it that grieves you about me?

01:07:53.980 --> 01:07:57.980
Gosh Lord, I can think of two or three things so easily.

01:08:14.980 --> 01:08:18.980
Please overturn tables, please cleanse my life.

01:08:22.980 --> 01:08:26.980
Please do that for this church too.

01:08:29.980 --> 01:08:34.980
It's odd but purifying fire and jealousy go together.

01:08:34.980 --> 01:08:39.980
I know you love me, love us.

01:08:39.980 --> 01:08:44.980
So it's not fearful to fall into the hands of the living God.

01:08:47.980 --> 01:08:52.980
And when you do it, can you please point it out so that we know it's you?

01:08:57.980 --> 01:09:00.980
In Jesus name, Amen.

01:09:04.980 --> 01:09:06.980
Thank you guys.

01:09:06.980 --> 01:09:21.980
I won't be here next week but I just place Derek in charge and pray that the Lord will give you the wisdom and the love and the purity and the jealousy that you need to possess.

01:09:21.980 --> 01:09:29.980
Far greater than the jealousy you even have over Iris and your baby for the church.

01:09:29.980 --> 01:09:32.980
May that be the same thing for all of us.

01:09:32.980 --> 01:09:33.980
Yeah.

01:09:33.980 --> 01:09:35.980
Bless you.

01:09:35.980 --> 01:09:37.980
There will be people here who will pray with you.

01:09:37.980 --> 01:09:39.980
If you need prayer, feel free to come up.

01:09:39.980 --> 01:09:41.980
Cool.
