This is the second part and then there will be a third part 00:00:09.120 --> 00:00:15.160 So last week was Pentecost we started with this whole idea of gosh without the Spirit of God 00:00:18.600 --> 00:00:26.640 Everything that we've been talking about in terms of Matthew 28 18 to 20 in terms of multiplying churches in terms of being set apart by 00:00:26.640 --> 00:00:34.240 Christ for setting others apart would not be possible. So we continue today with the glorious ministry of the Spirit guys 00:00:35.160 --> 00:00:43.200 In the Old Testament there were two words that were used for glory one was Shekinah, which was the outward 00:00:44.760 --> 00:00:52.080 Manifestation of God's glory so you often hear of the authors in the Old Testament using the word Shekinah as in the Shekinah of God 00:00:52.200 --> 00:00:54.440 was present as in they could either 00:00:55.120 --> 00:01:00.960 Seed in the form of a cloud or seed in the form of fire or some glorious 00:01:01.680 --> 00:01:03.680 manifestation of God's glory and 00:01:04.400 --> 00:01:07.600 Then there would be another word that they would often use for glory 00:01:07.600 --> 00:01:14.480 Which was not external but which talked about the weight of the substance of his glory and that was the word cabod 00:01:15.280 --> 00:01:20.280 So these were the two words that were often used in the Old Testament to talk about the glory of God 00:01:21.280 --> 00:01:23.280 And it's not like 00:01:23.560 --> 00:01:29.880 God decided that he'll express his glory when the Old Testament started. He's been glorious right from the beginning 00:01:31.000 --> 00:01:34.380 The king of glory in Isaiah chapter 6 verse 3 00:01:34.380 --> 00:01:39.040 We see a scene where he's seated on his throne and there are angels in 00:01:40.000 --> 00:01:42.000 the throne room and 00:01:42.360 --> 00:01:47.440 They're flying and calling out. Holy. Holy. Holy is the Lord God Almighty 00:01:48.080 --> 00:01:53.800 The whole earth is full of his glory. So this idea of God's glory just 00:01:54.320 --> 00:02:00.840 Saturating creation was there right from the beginning to think that Adam and Eve actually saw that in 00:02:01.400 --> 00:02:03.400 some form or the other 00:02:05.600 --> 00:02:10.720 To think that Lucifer is aware of it and trembles 00:02:17.520 --> 00:02:21.000 Adam and Eve were aware of it in a way that perhaps 00:02:22.960 --> 00:02:28.160 Was more splendid than we can ever see it because God lives in an unapproachable light and we as 00:02:30.000 --> 00:02:37.480 Mortals who are decaying or dying can't approach that unapproachable light, but Adam and Eve saw something that we can't yet 00:02:38.320 --> 00:02:42.320 Go towards even though he now dwells in us, but we'll get there a little later 00:02:42.320 --> 00:02:49.880 So the whole earth is full of his glory but then in Habakkuk 2 14 God changes it around a little he says yes 00:02:50.080 --> 00:02:55.000 The whole earth the entire universe is saturated with my glory 00:02:55.000 --> 00:03:01.480 He actually talks about it in Psalm 19 where David writes that the heavens declare the glory of the Lord that 00:03:02.000 --> 00:03:07.520 Without speaking every day words go out that declare how splendid he is 00:03:08.800 --> 00:03:09.760 and 00:03:09.760 --> 00:03:14.200 Yet in Habakkuk 2 14 God puts a spin on it and he says that 00:03:15.040 --> 00:03:22.160 The earth will be filled. He doesn't say with the glory of God because that already exists 00:03:22.160 --> 00:03:28.520 It he says the earth will be filled with the knowledge of his glory. He puts in the word knowledge 00:03:29.360 --> 00:03:36.080 Why because at the end of the day you can have the glory of God present in a place and you can be like Jacob in 00:03:36.800 --> 00:03:42.680 Genesis 28 and say this is the house of God, but I did not even know it 00:03:45.240 --> 00:03:47.240 So you can have the glory of God 00:03:47.520 --> 00:03:55.440 Through the earth because Psalm 19 says that any man should recognize it Paul takes the same theme in Romans chapter 1 and says 00:03:55.440 --> 00:03:57.440 Man is without an excuse 00:03:57.720 --> 00:04:02.320 When it comes to saying that he does not know God because the heavens declare his glory 00:04:03.040 --> 00:04:06.820 But then what God does in Habakkuk 2 14 is to say hey 00:04:06.820 --> 00:04:13.440 I want to bring a new thing into the earth and that is the knowledge of his glory and awareness of his glory 00:04:14.680 --> 00:04:20.080 And he's setting us up because he knows what awaits once Christ comes 00:04:21.320 --> 00:04:24.160 It's not going to be external manifestation of Shekinah 00:04:24.280 --> 00:04:30.720 It's not going to be this nebulous thing that nobody knew of called cardboard, which is the weight of the substance of his glory 00:04:31.520 --> 00:04:37.760 But now he's saying I'm first going to send someone who represents my glory and then that someone is going to dwell in you 00:04:37.960 --> 00:04:42.120 But through this process that I'm setting you up for here's what's going to happen 00:04:42.240 --> 00:04:46.920 The world will have the knowledge of his glory. They will come into an awareness of it 00:04:48.360 --> 00:04:50.500 In Malachi chapter 2 verse 7 00:04:51.880 --> 00:04:56.280 In Malachi chapter, hey, can I grab some water just regular water? 00:04:56.640 --> 00:05:00.600 In Malachi chapter 2 verse 7, here's what God says 00:05:01.600 --> 00:05:03.200 With regard to the priests 00:05:03.200 --> 00:05:11.200 He says that the lips of the priests must guard knowledge and people should seek instruction from their mouths 00:05:11.200 --> 00:05:14.880 Because they are messengers of mine. That's what he says in Malachi 2 7 00:05:14.880 --> 00:05:21.680 What was the point? The point was there is going to come a time when I will have a common priesthood of sons and daughters 00:05:21.960 --> 00:05:28.360 Of sons and daughters from every tribe tongue and nation around the world and I'll draw them and the reason I'm raising them 00:05:28.360 --> 00:05:36.160 I pass priests is for one simple reason that they bring a knowledge of my glory here on earth that they bring an awareness of my 00:05:36.160 --> 00:05:40.860 Glory people need to taste it see it feel it touch it have it explained to them 00:05:40.860 --> 00:05:45.400 But someone has to carry it and I'm raising up a whole tribe of priests 00:05:45.400 --> 00:05:47.400 This is what he does 00:05:48.400 --> 00:05:50.400 Smart God man 00:05:51.800 --> 00:05:57.320 And so no one is opted out Betty is in as I is in May is in 00:05:58.040 --> 00:06:02.280 Jane is in and I'm taking the name of women because women weren't even allowed in the priesthood 00:06:02.920 --> 00:06:07.140 Jane is in and I'm taking the name of women because women weren't even allowed in the priesthood 00:06:15.920 --> 00:06:21.240 And yet now he has a common priesthood who will make people aware of the knowledge of his glory 00:06:21.240 --> 00:06:23.240 I 00:06:28.080 --> 00:06:35.720 Said that in Psalm 19 it talks about how nature declares his glory, but if nature alone was sufficient then we would all be saved 00:06:38.640 --> 00:06:40.320 It leaves us with no excuse 00:06:40.320 --> 00:06:43.320 But it needs to bring an awareness or a knowledge and in a time like this 00:06:43.980 --> 00:06:47.360 when all the lines are gray and the dullness of 00:06:48.080 --> 00:06:52.640 People increases this is when the priests need to guard knowledge and carry 00:06:53.960 --> 00:06:56.800 Instruction in their mouth so that others can come and seek them 00:06:58.760 --> 00:07:05.000 This is what Paul then tries to explain in Ephesians 3 9. It's almost like God just sends these 00:07:06.640 --> 00:07:08.640 These people are these 00:07:08.920 --> 00:07:12.360 Announcements during different times from the gym from Genesis to Revelation 00:07:12.360 --> 00:07:19.520 So he sends Paul and Paul makes a statement he says guys I have come to make plain to you the mystery and 00:07:20.200 --> 00:07:24.000 So the question then is what mystery because he says in Ephesians 3 9 00:07:24.040 --> 00:07:30.400 My task is to bring out into the open and make plain the mystery that has been hidden for ages in God 00:07:30.400 --> 00:07:36.980 Who created all things and then he goes on to say in verse 10 through Christians like yourselves gathered in churches this 00:07:37.300 --> 00:07:42.900 Extraordinary plan of God is going to be made known and talked about even among the angels and 00:07:44.540 --> 00:07:50.820 What is this mystery he goes on to unfold it in Colossians 1 27 when he says this is the mystery 00:07:51.100 --> 00:07:54.300 Christ in you the hope of glory 00:07:55.780 --> 00:08:02.060 So here is glory that filled the universe that people could not fathom because they could not 00:08:03.060 --> 00:08:05.260 Feel it tasted eat it 00:08:05.620 --> 00:08:11.840 They just knew Shekinah when it appeared and then he says alright. Let me tell you what I'm gonna do 00:08:11.840 --> 00:08:15.780 I'm going to bring about a knowledge or awareness of this glory 00:08:16.300 --> 00:08:17.100 and 00:08:17.100 --> 00:08:24.980 Then he says I'll do it through a host of priests and kings that will cover the earth as the waters cover the seas 00:08:25.540 --> 00:08:30.660 Just like the Holy Spirit brooded over the waters in Genesis 1 and created 00:08:31.180 --> 00:08:36.380 Order and beauty out of chaos. So now he's raising a host of 00:08:37.500 --> 00:08:42.700 Priests and kings who spread throughout the earth carrying this marvelous thing 00:08:43.460 --> 00:08:47.660 Called the glory of God and we'll explain it saying now you go and distribute it 00:08:47.660 --> 00:08:52.140 You brood over chaos you brood over chaos Jacob and begin to speak the words 00:08:52.140 --> 00:08:57.820 I give you and my spirit will bring into the chaos of life situations cities nations 00:08:57.820 --> 00:09:01.180 He will bring order and beauty but you carry it now 00:09:01.660 --> 00:09:06.380 But God, how can I carry it because this is a mystery your your glory is a mystery 00:09:06.380 --> 00:09:13.980 Don't worry because I'm sending you a key that will open this mystery and then Paul comes along and he says this is the mystery 00:09:13.980 --> 00:09:18.860 That I wanted to open to you and make plain from the beginning of time hidden through the ages 00:09:18.860 --> 00:09:24.220 But now being revealed through whom through churches that gather like you Ephesians 3 10 00:09:25.380 --> 00:09:27.380 Making it known 00:09:27.380 --> 00:09:30.260 Making it known through churches that gather like you so much 00:09:30.260 --> 00:09:35.380 So that even the angels stoop to hear and find out what this mystery is 00:09:35.380 --> 00:09:40.900 And what is the mystery the mystery is that the glory of God is Christ himself 00:09:41.180 --> 00:09:48.100 the sovereign head of the universe the king of the universe the savior of the universe the Lord of the universe he 00:09:48.820 --> 00:09:50.940 is the glory of God and 00:09:51.580 --> 00:09:55.500 That's just one part of the mystery that's revealed the second part of the mysteries 00:09:55.500 --> 00:10:00.560 But this Christ is in you the hope of glory now go 00:10:03.700 --> 00:10:05.700 And you think brilliant God 00:10:06.860 --> 00:10:08.860 Brilliant God 00:10:09.460 --> 00:10:13.100 This is what we're talking about and God coins a new term 00:10:14.060 --> 00:10:15.380 that 00:10:15.380 --> 00:10:19.420 encompasses both words cupboard and Shekinah and it's a Greek word called doxa and 00:10:20.340 --> 00:10:27.900 It's used again and again and again and it takes both his external manifestation and the weight and the substance of who he is 00:10:27.900 --> 00:10:29.900 And he combines it into one word 00:10:30.740 --> 00:10:32.740 Jesus represented that word 00:10:36.140 --> 00:10:40.740 They saw this glory displayed as Shekinah on the Mount of Transfiguration 00:10:41.380 --> 00:10:45.620 Therefore a moment Jesus revealed his Shekinah his brilliance 00:10:46.620 --> 00:10:52.020 So much so that Peter in second Peter chapter 2 writes about it much after Jesus has died 00:10:52.020 --> 00:10:54.860 He's saying but we beheld it we beheld it 00:10:58.500 --> 00:11:04.300 But more than anything else Jesus didn't want the Shekinah to blow people away with blazing light 00:11:04.300 --> 00:11:06.940 He wanted to blow people away by living inside 00:11:07.940 --> 00:11:09.940 Christ in you the hope of glory 00:11:10.300 --> 00:11:15.100 What a marvelous God what a marvelous people we are guys what a marvelous people we are 00:11:16.180 --> 00:11:19.820 But we now have the opportunity to cover the earth as the waters cover the seas 00:11:23.020 --> 00:11:25.580 Spread out bringing order and beauty 00:11:26.100 --> 00:11:30.700 Where there is morning we bring beauty where there's ashes we bring beauty where there is blind eyes 00:11:30.700 --> 00:11:34.220 We bring open eyes where there are prisoners we set them free where there are captives 00:11:34.220 --> 00:11:37.800 We say come out into the light where there is darkness we declare light 00:11:38.580 --> 00:11:40.960 Where there are poor and bankrupt we preach the good news 00:11:40.960 --> 00:11:45.080 Isaiah 61 verses 1 to 3 00:11:47.520 --> 00:11:50.340 And the glory of the Lord shall cover the earth as the waters cover the seas 00:11:50.340 --> 00:11:55.720 This is the church's primary function and when the church loses its mission it loses this aspect 00:11:55.720 --> 00:12:00.340 And then what do we do with glory we fall over or we shake 00:12:01.080 --> 00:12:06.120 Or we watch stuff come from the roof or we don't have any of that 00:12:06.120 --> 00:12:07.600 But really get thrilled with it 00:12:07.600 --> 00:12:13.060 There is no point getting thrilled with the glory because the glory was never meant to be thrilled with the glory was meant to 00:12:13.480 --> 00:12:16.540 Saturate the earth cover the earth as the waters cover the seas 00:12:18.200 --> 00:12:25.000 God never turned up at the Shekinah to convince people got turned up at the Shekinah because now he wanted people to 00:12:25.400 --> 00:12:28.300 Recognize that he was there and then go do something with it 00:12:30.640 --> 00:12:32.640 He's not a thrill-giver 00:12:34.600 --> 00:12:36.080 And 00:12:36.080 --> 00:12:42.960 Yet he's very willing very willing to share and show his glory. He's got absolutely no problem sharing his glory 00:12:47.160 --> 00:12:50.280 The Bible says he will not share his glory and when you read it 00:12:50.280 --> 00:12:55.060 It's when you read up and down you'll find that he's saying he'll not share his glory with any idol 00:12:55.280 --> 00:13:01.240 But he will share his glory with his people which father does not want to share his glory with his son 00:13:02.180 --> 00:13:07.740 Which father says this is yours and this is mine you might be my biological son, but here ends the biology 00:13:08.440 --> 00:13:10.440 Nobody says that 00:13:14.840 --> 00:13:18.080 If Christ the king of the universe 00:13:18.680 --> 00:13:22.040 The hope of glory lives in me then this is what it means and I've 00:13:22.680 --> 00:13:24.680 Said this line before but it's 00:13:25.440 --> 00:13:27.440 warrants it being said again if 00:13:28.280 --> 00:13:30.280 if my son 00:13:32.160 --> 00:13:35.820 Lives in you 00:13:36.780 --> 00:13:40.460 then surely 00:13:40.840 --> 00:13:42.840 You must 00:13:43.120 --> 00:13:45.120 Have an 00:13:46.040 --> 00:13:48.040 Expectation 00:13:49.680 --> 00:13:51.680 Of 00:13:52.800 --> 00:13:54.800 Hear that 00:13:54.800 --> 00:14:18.800 of my presence, power, goodness, and joy in all things. 00:14:18.800 --> 00:14:37.800 Christ in you, the hope of glory, if put in simple language, would then mean that if Jesus, my son, lives in you Jacob, then in all things, then in all things, then in all things, you must have. 00:14:37.800 --> 00:14:44.800 You must have. Because it's not even that you're seeking something on the outside. You must have because you already have it. 00:14:44.800 --> 00:14:55.800 You must have an expectation of God's goodness, God's power, God's presence, God's joy. 00:14:55.800 --> 00:15:05.800 You must have it because you already have it. 00:15:05.800 --> 00:15:11.800 This is what it actually means. Otherwise it becomes a meaningless statement. Christ in you, the hope of glory. Christ in you, the hope of glory. 00:15:11.800 --> 00:15:16.800 It gets into songs and gets into messages and that's about it. But this is what it actually means. 00:15:16.800 --> 00:15:22.800 Because at the end of the day, these four are some of the primary ingredients of glory. 00:15:22.800 --> 00:15:31.800 Because you'll remember when Moses was on the mountain and he turns to God and he says to God in Exodus 33, 00:15:31.800 --> 00:15:41.800 He says to God, Oh God, will you show me your goodness? What does God, he asks God, Oh God, will you show me your glory? 00:15:41.800 --> 00:15:46.800 What does God show him? He says, I'll show you my goodness. 00:15:46.800 --> 00:15:53.800 In Hebrews chapter one, verse three, it says that Jesus Christ is the express image of the invisible God. 00:15:53.800 --> 00:15:58.800 And the glorious, it talks about the glory of God being reflected through Jesus. 00:15:58.800 --> 00:16:03.800 And it says that he holds things together by his power. 00:16:03.800 --> 00:16:09.800 The glory of God always carries in it the power of God. 00:16:09.800 --> 00:16:13.800 Another word that's often used in the Old Testament is this word called Panim. 00:16:13.800 --> 00:16:18.800 And Panim always represented the face, the presence and the glory. 00:16:18.800 --> 00:16:22.800 And God says, listen to this, listen to this. Look at what God is saying. 00:16:22.800 --> 00:16:25.800 Hey, I'm going to show you my glory, but here's how I'm going to show you my glory. 00:16:25.800 --> 00:16:30.800 I'll pass before you and hide you in the cleft of my rock, cleft of the rock. 00:16:30.800 --> 00:16:35.800 And I'll pass before you guys. His glory and his presence go together. 00:16:35.800 --> 00:16:38.800 These things work in tandem. They're tied together. 00:16:38.800 --> 00:16:43.800 In Psalm 19 that we were just talking about, God says, Hey, the heavens declare my glory. 00:16:43.800 --> 00:16:50.800 And by the way, I march out like a bridegroom, rejoicing, full of joy, like an athlete ready to run. 00:16:50.800 --> 00:16:53.800 Joy goes with his glory. Laughter goes with his glory. 00:16:53.800 --> 00:16:58.800 Do you see what we do when we strip God of his glory in the way we represent him? 00:16:58.800 --> 00:17:09.800 Not because we don't have it, but because we don't practice it or believe that it is real. 00:17:09.800 --> 00:17:13.800 I am always present before him and he is always present in me. 00:17:13.800 --> 00:17:17.800 Say, I am always present before him. 00:17:17.800 --> 00:17:22.800 There is not going to be a moment in time that I will not be present before God. 00:17:22.800 --> 00:17:28.800 There will never be a cry that comes out of my heart that cries out, Oh God, oh God, why have you forsaken me? 00:17:28.800 --> 00:17:32.800 These are never words that will enter my mouth because those words do not apply to me. 00:17:32.800 --> 00:17:36.800 I may feel that way, but they are not real. They are not true. 00:17:39.800 --> 00:17:46.800 Therefore, it means that there will never be a time when I'm not present before God because Christ is present before God. 00:17:46.800 --> 00:17:52.800 Therefore, I am present before God and there will never be a time when he is not present in me. 00:17:52.800 --> 00:18:00.800 If that is so, then in all things, I must have this expectation of his goodness, 00:18:00.800 --> 00:18:07.800 of his presence, of his power and of his laughter and joy. 00:18:07.800 --> 00:18:10.800 That I don't have it does not mean that it is untrue. 00:18:10.800 --> 00:18:17.800 That I don't have it just means that I'm not getting into it, accepting it, receiving it, walking in it, practicing it. 00:18:22.800 --> 00:18:24.800 Any questions? 00:18:28.800 --> 00:18:32.800 Yeah, man. Any thoughts, contradictions, questions? 00:18:38.800 --> 00:18:42.800 This is brilliant stuff, man, what God has done. 00:18:43.800 --> 00:18:52.800 It needs practice, because truth is learned through repetition and repeating it not in words just, but words that then you put flesh to. 00:18:55.800 --> 00:19:00.800 Every difficult situation becomes an opportunity to practice the glory of God. 00:19:01.800 --> 00:19:06.800 Every ordinary situation becomes an opportunity to thrive in the glory of God. 00:19:09.800 --> 00:19:13.800 And when we talk about glory, if you can begin to think of it like this. 00:19:17.800 --> 00:19:19.800 Any questions? 00:19:21.800 --> 00:19:27.800 And so Christ has brought to us the splendor of Christ, the power of Christ, the presence of Christ, 00:19:27.800 --> 00:19:38.800 the goodness of Christ, the joy of Christ is brought to us through just one person, his personal presence, through the personage of the Holy Spirit. 00:19:38.800 --> 00:19:41.800 The Holy Spirit brings to us all these things that we are talking about. 00:19:41.800 --> 00:19:46.800 In 1 Peter 4, 14, the Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Glory. 00:19:46.800 --> 00:19:51.800 In 2 Corinthians 3, 18, it says, This is also from the Lord. 00:19:51.800 --> 00:19:54.800 He is the one who transforms us from glory to glory. 00:19:54.800 --> 00:19:57.800 And where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. 00:20:01.800 --> 00:20:04.800 First Peter 4, 14, and 2 Corinthians 3, 18. 00:20:07.800 --> 00:20:12.800 On one hand, the Holy Spirit is transcendent as in he lives outside. 00:20:12.800 --> 00:20:17.800 He, he's, this is not some kind of pantheism where we see God in everything. 00:20:17.800 --> 00:20:19.800 We don't see God in everything. 00:20:19.800 --> 00:20:23.800 This is not some kind of pantheism where we see God in everything. 00:20:23.800 --> 00:20:26.800 We don't see God in trees and stones and stuff like that. 00:20:26.800 --> 00:20:29.800 God lives outside of what he's created. 00:20:29.800 --> 00:20:34.800 But even though he's transcendent outside, he chooses to localize himself. 00:20:34.800 --> 00:20:36.800 He's omnipresent. 00:20:36.800 --> 00:20:37.800 He's present in Mandalay. 00:20:37.800 --> 00:20:39.800 He's present in Surabaya. 00:20:39.800 --> 00:20:40.800 He's present in Ulaanbaatar. 00:20:40.800 --> 00:20:43.800 He's present in thousands of Christians all over the world. 00:20:43.800 --> 00:20:45.800 He's present in the universe. 00:20:45.800 --> 00:20:46.800 He was there from the beginning. 00:20:46.800 --> 00:20:48.800 He will be there. 00:20:48.800 --> 00:20:52.800 But even though he's omnipresent and even though he's outside of what he has created, 00:20:52.800 --> 00:20:59.800 the amazing thing about the Holy Spirit is that he localizes himself personally in Jacob and in this group of people. 00:21:03.800 --> 00:21:04.800 Amazing. 00:21:09.800 --> 00:21:10.800 And then he lives in me. 00:21:10.800 --> 00:21:11.800 He empowers me. 00:21:11.800 --> 00:21:13.800 He enables me to do what? 00:21:13.800 --> 00:21:21.800 To live a life that has values, that has lifestyle, and that has thoughts and ways that come from a future age. 00:21:21.800 --> 00:21:22.800 Guys, remember this. 00:21:22.800 --> 00:21:25.800 Say one of the things the Holy Spirit tries to do in a church, 00:21:25.800 --> 00:21:28.800 one of the things the Holy Spirit tries to do in your life is, 00:21:28.800 --> 00:21:31.800 I know you're living in 2018, 00:21:31.800 --> 00:21:37.800 but can you begin to live by the values of a world that is yet to come 00:21:37.800 --> 00:21:46.800 where kindness, where forgiveness, where gentleness, where joy, and these are natural? 00:21:46.800 --> 00:21:47.800 Can you begin to live by that? 00:21:47.800 --> 00:21:49.800 Can you begin to live with those values? 00:21:49.800 --> 00:21:55.800 Can you begin to live a lifestyle that comes from a future age that is soon approaching but isn't there yet? 00:23:36.800 --> 00:23:37.800 Because he already lives in us. 00:23:37.800 --> 00:23:38.800 That is true. 00:23:38.800 --> 00:23:46.800 But my God, if I was fully aware of the length and breadth and the height and depth of his love and his glory, I would be a different person. 00:23:46.800 --> 00:23:48.800 Seek to know it. 00:23:48.800 --> 00:23:50.800 I'm fascinated by Moses. 00:23:50.800 --> 00:23:52.800 Just think of what Moses is doing. 00:23:52.800 --> 00:24:00.800 He's already seeing the glory of God in the pillar and the cloud, but the guy ain't satisfied. 00:24:01.800 --> 00:24:03.800 So he goes up the mountain. 00:24:03.800 --> 00:24:06.800 He sees the glory of God, but he ain't satisfied. 00:24:07.800 --> 00:24:15.800 In Exodus 24, he takes 70 other elders with him and he goes up the mountain and they eat and drink with God, but the guy ain't satisfied. 00:24:15.800 --> 00:24:20.800 So he goes up again and he stands on the mountain and the Lord says to him, come up. 00:24:20.800 --> 00:24:23.800 And for 40 days he disappears, but the guy ain't satisfied. 00:24:24.800 --> 00:24:31.800 So he says to God, after all these experiences, when he should be writing books, he wants more. 00:24:31.800 --> 00:24:35.800 And so he says to God, Oh God, can you show me your glory? 00:24:36.800 --> 00:24:41.800 And after all this, God doesn't say, well, you've seen enough for a lifetime. 00:24:41.800 --> 00:24:42.800 Go write some books. 00:24:42.800 --> 00:24:48.800 He says, sure, I'll show you more, but I'll have to hide you in the cleft of the rock. 00:24:48.800 --> 00:24:51.800 Because as I pass by, you wouldn't be able to handle it. 00:24:51.800 --> 00:24:55.800 And so he hides Moses and Moses sees more. 00:24:55.800 --> 00:24:58.800 And you would think that would be enough, but the guy ain't satisfied. 00:24:58.800 --> 00:25:06.800 So every day he turns up in the tent of meeting and he meets God face to face, panim, presence, face to face, face shining. 00:25:06.800 --> 00:25:07.800 And what happens? 00:28:25.800 --> 00:28:26.800 Am I ready? 00:28:26.800 --> 00:28:29.800 And I would keep telling him, Ali, I cannot tell you when you are ready. 00:28:29.800 --> 00:28:31.800 I gave him the Jesus video. 00:28:31.800 --> 00:28:36.800 And he saw the Jesus video and he said, he came here to learn English, ESL. 00:28:36.800 --> 00:28:42.800 And so he said, I watched the video, I felt like a bird and I cried. 00:28:42.800 --> 00:28:47.800 What he was trying to say was there was some kind of freedom that happened inside him and he began to weep. 00:28:47.800 --> 00:28:48.800 And he said, Jacob, am I ready? 00:29:37.800 --> 00:29:39.800 Don't you know that Jacob is telling you the truth? 00:29:40.800 --> 00:29:42.800 And so he says, I know this is the truth. 00:29:43.800 --> 00:29:44.800 I am ready. 00:29:44.800 --> 00:29:45.800 He receives Jesus Christ. 00:29:45.800 --> 00:29:47.800 He happens to be reading Acts chapter 10. 00:29:47.800 --> 00:29:54.800 And he finds that Cornelius is visited by the Holy Spirit and Cornelius and his family start speaking in tongues. 00:29:54.800 --> 00:29:55.800 So he says, what is this? 00:29:55.800 --> 00:29:56.800 So I explained it to him. 00:29:56.800 --> 00:29:57.800 And he says, I want this. 00:29:57.800 --> 00:30:06.800 So we go to Queen Elizabeth Park and we are sitting there and I pray that he receives a baptism in the Holy Spirit and that he starts speaking in tongues. 00:30:06.800 --> 00:30:10.800 And I pray for him and then I say, don't worry, it will happen. 00:30:10.800 --> 00:30:13.800 Just safeguarding him because I didn't have the faith for it. 00:30:14.800 --> 00:30:16.800 And he starts speaking in tongues. 00:30:16.800 --> 00:30:18.800 And I said, no, no, Ali, that's Turkish. 00:30:18.800 --> 00:30:19.800 Tongues are different. 00:30:19.800 --> 00:30:20.800 He says, no, this is Turkish. 00:30:20.800 --> 00:30:21.800 And he speaks in Turkish. 00:30:21.800 --> 00:30:22.800 Then he says, this is tongues. 00:30:22.800 --> 00:30:24.800 And he starts speaking in tongues. 00:30:24.800 --> 00:30:27.800 And I'm scratching my head saying, wow, Father, this is happening way too fast. 00:30:30.800 --> 00:30:32.800 He disappears, goes to Turkey. 00:30:32.800 --> 00:30:36.800 We went and met him once when we started Acts 29. 00:30:36.800 --> 00:30:45.800 But after that, he disappeared, as in his family was upset with him and they put him away in an asylum and stuff like that. 00:30:45.800 --> 00:30:46.800 But that's a different story. 00:30:46.800 --> 00:30:50.800 The point is this, that at the end of the day, Christ appears. 00:30:50.800 --> 00:30:53.800 Why did the story trigger up? 00:31:06.800 --> 00:31:08.800 And he says, yeah, because he wore a robe. 00:31:08.800 --> 00:31:09.800 He had a belt. 00:31:09.800 --> 00:31:10.800 His face was bright. 00:31:10.800 --> 00:31:11.800 I could not see it. 00:31:11.800 --> 00:31:16.800 And he came and put his hand on my head and he says, don't you know that this is the that Jacob is telling you the truth? 00:31:16.800 --> 00:31:17.800 What are you waiting for? 00:31:19.800 --> 00:31:20.800 What are you waiting for? 00:31:20.800 --> 00:31:22.800 Jesus Christ is Lord. 00:31:22.800 --> 00:31:23.800 What are you waiting for? 00:32:06.800 --> 00:32:10.800 Because whatever you behold, the first thing in the morning is what you will become. 00:32:10.800 --> 00:32:11.800 Why? 00:32:11.800 --> 00:32:18.800 Because it says, if you behold his face, then you shall change from glory to glory, strength to strength. 00:32:18.800 --> 00:32:21.800 But what if you behold your debt when you wake up? 00:32:21.800 --> 00:32:23.800 What if you behold your disease when you wake up? 00:32:23.800 --> 00:32:25.800 What if you behold your fears when you wake up? 00:32:25.800 --> 00:32:27.800 What if you behold your shame when you wake up? 00:32:27.800 --> 00:32:29.800 What happens then? 00:32:29.800 --> 00:32:33.800 Then you go from shame to shame, debt to debt, fear to fear. 00:32:33.800 --> 00:32:35.800 But what if you beheld his face first? 00:35:09.800 --> 00:35:15.800 Living without the glory of God or the awareness of the glory of God can make you tired and weary. 00:35:16.800 --> 00:35:18.800 You have Christ in you, the hope of glory. 00:35:18.800 --> 00:35:20.800 But to not be aware of it like Jacob saying, 00:35:20.800 --> 00:35:23.800 Oh, this is the house of God, but I did not even know it. 00:35:23.800 --> 00:35:25.800 That can make you weary. 00:35:25.800 --> 00:35:26.800 And he says, Are you tired and weary? 00:35:26.800 --> 00:35:29.800 Hey, come take my yoke upon you. 00:35:29.800 --> 00:35:30.800 Take my yoke upon you. 00:35:30.800 --> 00:35:32.800 And what is this yoke that you wear Jesus? 00:35:32.800 --> 00:35:36.800 What is it that the father has given you that is light and easy? 00:35:36.800 --> 00:35:40.800 And the one thing that Jesus has been wearing since the beginning of time 00:35:40.800 --> 00:35:44.800 is he's got this intimate relationship with his father. 00:35:44.800 --> 00:35:48.800 It says in Matthew 11, if you look at the message, here's what it says. 00:35:48.800 --> 00:35:51.800 I operate out of a, Jesus is saying this, 00:35:51.800 --> 00:35:56.800 I operate out of a unique father son intimacy and everything I do, 00:35:56.800 --> 00:35:59.800 I do out of this unique father son knowledge. 00:35:59.800 --> 00:36:01.800 This is how I live and operate. 00:36:01.800 --> 00:36:02.800 That's what the message says. 00:36:02.800 --> 00:36:05.800 And then Jesus says in the message, he says, 00:36:05.800 --> 00:36:11.800 And I am willing to go over it line by line with you, enter into intimacy, plead with God. 00:36:11.800 --> 00:36:15.800 Father, I do not know what it is to be intimate or plead with God. 00:36:15.800 --> 00:36:17.800 Father reached a place of intimacy, 00:36:17.800 --> 00:36:20.800 but I want to step in deeper because this is what Jesus wears 00:36:20.800 --> 00:36:23.800 and he's willing to have me wear it. 00:36:23.800 --> 00:36:26.800 The second thing you wear is affection, intimacy. 00:36:26.800 --> 00:36:36.800 The second thing is affection, affection, sheer love, delight, delight, 00:36:36.800 --> 00:36:40.800 affection that comes out of sheer delight. 00:36:40.800 --> 00:36:43.800 Intimacy will always cause you to delight. 00:36:43.800 --> 00:36:50.800 Delight is expressed in unadorned, shameless, reckless affection, public affection. 00:36:52.800 --> 00:36:55.800 And the third one is trust. 00:36:58.800 --> 00:37:00.800 The father, I trust you. I trust you. 00:37:00.800 --> 00:37:05.800 I'm always present before you. You're always present in me. I trust you. 00:37:05.800 --> 00:37:08.800 I call you father. I trust you. 00:37:08.800 --> 00:37:11.800 I trust you, O God. I trust you. 00:37:14.800 --> 00:37:16.800 This goes against the grain of what we think, 00:37:16.800 --> 00:37:20.800 because we think take my yoke upon you means some miserable thing 00:37:20.800 --> 00:37:22.800 that we have to carry for the rest of our lives. 00:37:22.800 --> 00:37:26.800 What miserable thing did the father ever put on Jesus? 00:37:27.800 --> 00:37:30.800 He didn't even put the cross on Jesus. Jesus offered to take the cross. 00:37:32.800 --> 00:37:34.800 What miserable thing has the father put on him? 00:37:34.800 --> 00:37:38.800 We shudder at the sight of that verse, because we've always thought, 00:37:38.800 --> 00:37:41.800 take my yoke upon you.
