So in Job 39 verse 29, Job 39 verse 27 to 29, it says, does the eagle or the 00:00:22.240 --> 00:00:29.360 hawk take flight by your wisdom? This is God asking Job. Does it spread his wings towards the south? 00:00:29.360 --> 00:00:34.640 Does the eagle soar at your command and build his nest on high? He dwells on a cliff and stays there 00:00:34.640 --> 00:00:41.600 at night. A rocky crag is strong. From there he seeks out his food, his eyes detected from afar. 00:00:41.600 --> 00:00:51.280 There is this thing about seeing spiritually where you see things from a perch that is in God 00:00:51.280 --> 00:00:58.320 and therefore are able to figure out, fathom, see things before they actually happen. And another 00:00:58.320 --> 00:01:03.920 word, another phrase you can use for it is eyes of faith, spiritual eyesight, eyes of faith, 00:01:05.680 --> 00:01:11.600 where you have the ability to soar at a place where the spirit of God wants you to and therefore 00:01:11.600 --> 00:01:15.920 see things spiritually. Because at the end of the day, everything is first formed in the spirit realm. 00:01:19.280 --> 00:01:25.120 And so the more we are confined to seeing things, observing things with our natural senses, the less 00:01:25.120 --> 00:01:32.320 we are likely to see things ahead. And God is a God who wants to have his people see things ahead of 00:01:32.320 --> 00:01:39.920 time. At George Bush Senior's funeral, they had this term that they would keep using again and 00:01:39.920 --> 00:01:48.480 again, CAVU. There's actually a restaurant called CAVU at Hilton in Richmond. CAVU is a term that 00:01:48.480 --> 00:01:55.680 fighter pilots use. It means ceiling and visibility unlimited. Ceiling and visibility unlimited. And 00:01:55.680 --> 00:02:02.240 so it is this, when we're talking about eyes of faith or spiritual insight, we're talking about 00:02:02.240 --> 00:02:08.720 God allowing us to both see upwards and see downwards so that ceiling and visibility is 00:02:08.720 --> 00:02:14.880 unlimited. So you begin to fathom or figure out what God wants to show you and what God is seeing. 00:02:14.960 --> 00:02:22.080 And it becomes much easier to live then. So eyes of faith are critical to living, sometimes an unlimited 00:02:22.080 --> 00:02:29.280 life in God. Eyes of faith are critical to living an unlimited life in God. And what do you mean by 00:02:29.280 --> 00:02:35.120 unlimited life? Meaning at the beck and call of God who knows everything, sees everything, and has 00:02:35.120 --> 00:02:40.960 the ability to convey to you what he wants because you are beginning to tune your eyes to see things 00:02:40.960 --> 00:02:45.600 through. I'm not talking about angels and demons and stuff like that. I'm just talking about seeing 00:02:45.600 --> 00:02:50.560 what God is thinking. Oh, they just love the phrase, seeing what God is thinking. 00:02:52.560 --> 00:02:57.120 That's what we're really doing when we talk about spiritual sight, seeing what God is thinking. 00:02:59.840 --> 00:03:08.160 So when you read Hebrews 11 19 to 29, Hebrews 11 19 to 29, you'll find that Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, 00:03:08.160 --> 00:03:14.400 Joseph, Moses needed eyes of faith to see what God had already prepared. They needed eyes of faith. 00:03:14.400 --> 00:03:21.280 I mean, I'm sometimes fascinated by what Moses is suggesting to 600,000 people. He's saying to them, 00:03:21.280 --> 00:03:30.240 listen, if you took a lamb and then you slay the lamb and then you take a bunch of branches and dip 00:03:30.240 --> 00:03:36.080 it in the blood of the lamb and then you go and put it on your doorpost, he is promising the 600,000 00:03:36.080 --> 00:03:39.680 people that he's supposed to take care of, then nothing's going to happen to them that night. 00:03:42.080 --> 00:03:47.760 He's taking on the responsibility of an entire nation and saying to that fledgling nation of 00:03:47.760 --> 00:03:54.880 600,000 people that listen, if you take the blood of this lamb and put it on your doorpost, and people 00:03:54.880 --> 00:04:00.560 had been using blood sacrifices during the ancient Near East times for years, so it was nothing new, 00:04:00.560 --> 00:04:06.080 but he has the audacity to go and say to them, you put this blood on your doorpost and tonight 00:04:06.080 --> 00:04:11.360 when the destroyer comes, he will pass over you and he will not destroy your home, your firstborns, 00:04:11.360 --> 00:04:17.440 he won't touch you. To have the ability to say that you have to see it first, man, and you have to be 00:04:17.440 --> 00:04:23.440 sure that you saw it from God, because otherwise you will have the blood of the firstborns of 00:04:23.440 --> 00:04:31.760 Israel on your hand. Eyes of faith are able to see what God is preparing ahead of time. 00:04:32.640 --> 00:04:38.560 God always is looking either for a, in the past he used to look for leaders who could do his, 00:04:38.560 --> 00:04:44.320 now he wants people who can do that, because he's always looking for a group of people, a people who 00:04:44.320 --> 00:04:49.840 can announce his intentions beforehand, a people who can have eyes of faith, not a leader or two. 00:04:50.800 --> 00:04:54.800 That is the Old Testament pattern, but a people who begin to live like this. 00:04:56.960 --> 00:05:02.320 Any questions before we go on? So if you take Abraham, take Isaac, take Jacob, take Joseph, 00:05:02.320 --> 00:05:06.320 take Moses, they needed eyes of faith to see what God had already prepared. I mean I love what 00:05:06.320 --> 00:05:13.520 Joseph did. I mean he had eyes of faith that encouraged a nation during 400 years of slavery. 00:05:13.520 --> 00:05:19.040 I know I've said this before, but he, look at what he says, he says you will not let my bones 00:05:19.040 --> 00:05:29.120 be buried here. And so they take his bones and they put it in a tent. 400 years people watch that 00:05:29.120 --> 00:05:35.200 tent and they see Joseph's bones. They come back with their backs flayed open because they've been 00:05:35.200 --> 00:05:42.800 building pyramids for Pharaoh, being treated like slaves. Brutality is their daily wage and then 00:05:42.800 --> 00:05:48.240 they walk past this tent and they look into that tent and what lies in that tent? Dead bones man. 00:05:49.200 --> 00:05:54.640 And yet those dead bones speak of a time that is coming when these people will move out of this 00:05:54.640 --> 00:06:01.040 land into a promised land of their own. This man set up something that encouraged slaves for 400 00:06:01.040 --> 00:06:08.720 years man. That's eyes of faith. When you and I have eyes of faith we set up for the generation 00:06:08.720 --> 00:06:14.320 after us and the people that we are presently living amongst some kind of a monument or a life 00:06:14.960 --> 00:06:20.240 that shows them that there is yet hope. Because faith and hope are inseparable. 00:06:23.440 --> 00:06:28.720 This is why when a people begin to catch on, not just one or two people, one or two people they 00:06:28.720 --> 00:06:34.960 write a book and we'll buy them. What when a people begin to think, as in they begin to see 00:06:34.960 --> 00:06:40.240 the thoughts of God. Not for themselves. We're not talking about hearing God for ourselves. We're 00:06:40.240 --> 00:06:51.040 talking about hearing God for the earth. I mean these stories that we are saying, why? Why should 00:06:51.840 --> 00:06:57.600 we go all the way to Dubai to meet one man because that one man may change the course 00:06:57.600 --> 00:06:59.520 of the largest Muslim nation in the world? 00:07:00.000 --> 00:07:02.000 This is how God works. 00:07:02.000 --> 00:07:08.800 But we as a people can begin to function like that. Therefore I'm not worried that we didn't pray 00:07:08.800 --> 00:07:13.760 for people and minister to people. Every trip is different man. You don't have to pray for headaches 00:07:13.760 --> 00:07:20.800 and fevers. Those are great things. Minister to people. Jesus did that. But the people who 00:07:20.800 --> 00:07:27.520 are not ministering to people, they are not praying for people. They are praying for the 00:07:27.520 --> 00:07:32.480 minister to people. Jesus did that. But there is something far greater at stake here than healing 00:07:32.480 --> 00:07:39.200 Christians. Nothing wrong with that. I mean it's very valid. I'd love to be healed of any ache I 00:07:39.200 --> 00:07:46.000 have immediately. But I'm saying there's much more than that in all. When a people begin to see his 00:07:46.000 --> 00:07:53.440 thoughts and he's waiting to do this. Faith shuts the eye of the mind and opens the eye of the 00:07:53.440 --> 00:07:58.880 spirit. Faith shuts the eye of the mind and opens the eye of the spirit. What the devil did in the 00:07:58.880 --> 00:08:05.600 garden is he opened the eyes of the mind, shut the eyes of faith. Never needed faith in the garden of 00:08:05.600 --> 00:08:12.080 Eden. The only thing that existed in the garden of Eden was obedient. Never needed faith because 00:08:12.080 --> 00:08:19.360 there was no contest with reason. And then the devil brings this idea of but don't you want 00:08:19.440 --> 00:08:27.200 knowledge. And therein begins this contest between reason and faith. Reason and as soon as reason 00:08:27.200 --> 00:08:35.760 comes there is doubt. There's speculation. Now you need. And so faith shuts the eye of the mind, 00:08:35.760 --> 00:08:41.120 opens the eye of the spirit. So that's another phrase you can use for eyes of faith. It is the 00:08:41.120 --> 00:08:46.560 opening of my spirit to the things of God. And when the eyes of the spirit are open, you judge 00:08:46.560 --> 00:08:53.840 things not by the substance of what you see but with eyes that God gives you to see things. So 00:08:54.800 --> 00:09:00.800 you're not basing your judgments on your five senses but you're basing your judgment on what 00:09:00.800 --> 00:09:05.440 you sense in your spirit about things. And then the crazy part is you've got to obey. 00:09:07.280 --> 00:09:15.280 Because reason can be followed. But when God speaks beyond what you can reason, now to obey 00:09:16.640 --> 00:09:24.720 is a whole different ballgame. And spiritual dullness is sometimes a result of us defaulting 00:09:24.720 --> 00:09:31.360 to rationale and to our five senses. Spiritual dullness is sometimes a result of us defaulting 00:09:31.360 --> 00:09:36.240 to rationale and our five senses. It's our default mode. That's how we've been brought up. 00:09:36.240 --> 00:09:41.440 And so it becomes the reason why there is spiritual dullness. And as long as we are tentative 00:09:41.440 --> 00:09:48.240 about this idea of seeing the thoughts of God, of seeing with eyes of faith, of having an eagle eye, 00:09:48.240 --> 00:09:55.760 of seeing and visibility unlimited, of soaring and perching with God and beginning to look at what he 00:09:55.760 --> 00:10:01.760 wants to show, of expecting that like Joshua did every time Moses went to Mount Sinai. When we begin 00:10:01.760 --> 00:10:07.760 to lose that awe and wonder of, oh shucks, God, how do you see this? Then we have to then rely only on 00:10:07.760 --> 00:10:11.680 reason and our five senses. And it almost always leads to spiritual dullness. 00:10:14.960 --> 00:10:15.360 Question? 00:10:25.760 --> 00:10:32.720 Spiritual dullness is caused partly by the default of, by my defaulting to reason 00:10:33.360 --> 00:10:39.440 and to my five senses. Because if that is where I operate, if that is where I plan to operate, 00:10:39.440 --> 00:10:43.680 if that's where I plan to stay, then it's natural that spiritual dullness will set in. 00:10:43.680 --> 00:10:46.720 It's like the edge of a knife not being used. Because if I am not willing to sharpen my ability to see spiritually, how am I 00:11:12.400 --> 00:11:18.880 going to see things? Because everything starts in the spirit realm, be demonic or be godly. It starts 00:11:18.880 --> 00:11:30.080 in the spirit realm. Everything has always started in the spirit realm. Man is the spirit realm. 00:11:30.160 --> 00:11:38.320 Man is under the illusion that he starts things here. He starts nothing. He responds to things. 00:11:41.360 --> 00:11:45.680 Isms are a response to something that was started somewhere else. 00:11:48.640 --> 00:11:52.400 How is hate formed? How is love formed? How is laughter formed? 00:11:54.000 --> 00:11:59.440 Take anything that you and I experience and where did it originate? In one or the other realm. 00:12:00.160 --> 00:12:12.400 So what does it mean to then have eyes of faith and see accurately in the spiritual? One, it is 00:12:12.400 --> 00:12:17.600 based on the premise that God is spirit and that all things of God are conceived in the realm of 00:12:17.600 --> 00:12:22.960 the word and the spirit. If God is spirit and he is, then everything that he conceived is conceived 00:12:22.960 --> 00:12:30.240 in the realm of word and spirit. John 6 63. The words that I speak to you are 00:12:31.600 --> 00:12:38.320 spirit and life, the flesh prophets, nothing. Everything that originates from God originates 00:12:38.320 --> 00:12:45.120 in the realm of the word and the spirit. 00:14:31.240 --> 00:14:37.440 At some point he recalls it as he's standing in Acts chapter 2 and explaining the falling of fire. 00:14:40.640 --> 00:14:46.240 The same Peter is also standing now in Cornelius' house and he's reminded of another scripture which says that, 00:14:46.240 --> 00:14:48.440 The Gentile shall be blessed through Israel. 00:14:49.440 --> 00:14:54.040 Where the Spirit of God shows things from the Word saying, 00:14:54.040 --> 00:14:57.440 Hey, it has been in the Word for years. 00:14:57.440 --> 00:14:58.640 Do you want to see it now? 00:14:58.640 --> 00:15:01.440 You think Dano came up with the idea of, 00:15:01.440 --> 00:15:04.040 Oh, we will now go after Maple Ridge as a city. 00:15:04.040 --> 00:15:09.040 No, it's been in the Word for hundreds of years. 00:15:09.040 --> 00:15:18.040 You think we came up with the idea that breaking a bread is fundamental to building household? 00:15:18.040 --> 00:15:21.640 No, it's been there in Acts chapter 2, 42 to 48 for ages. 00:15:21.640 --> 00:15:24.040 There's nothing new upon the earth, man. 00:15:24.640 --> 00:15:27.440 Everything is either hidden in God or hidden in the Word. 00:15:27.440 --> 00:15:33.640 And the Spirit of God is here to reveal it either through the Word or directly to us and verify it through the Word. 00:15:33.640 --> 00:15:36.040 This is the beauty of what we are discovering. 00:15:36.040 --> 00:15:43.040 We got 66 books to plumb for the rest of our lives and dig out ancient truths, man. 00:15:43.240 --> 00:15:48.240 Set up a pillar of stones on the other side of the Jordan for a generation that is yet to come. 00:15:48.240 --> 00:15:50.040 And they'll ask, what is this about? 00:15:50.040 --> 00:15:53.240 And we'll tell them, at such and such a point in 2019, 00:15:53.240 --> 00:15:56.040 we found out through the Word that God said. 00:15:56.040 --> 00:15:57.240 And now they'll take it on. 00:15:59.240 --> 00:16:00.040 Cool, huh? 00:16:01.840 --> 00:16:02.440 Thank you. 00:16:06.640 --> 00:16:08.640 Two, we see things that the Spirit is doing. 00:16:08.640 --> 00:16:10.040 We see things that the Spirit is doing. 00:16:10.040 --> 00:16:11.640 The first thing we see things in the Word. 00:16:11.640 --> 00:16:14.440 Second, we see things that the Spirit is doing. 00:16:14.440 --> 00:16:17.840 We see things the Spirit is doing. 00:16:19.240 --> 00:16:21.440 We see things the Spirit is doing. 00:16:21.440 --> 00:16:23.240 How do you see things the Spirit is doing? 00:16:23.240 --> 00:16:28.240 You see things the Spirit is doing by beginning to cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit. 00:16:28.240 --> 00:16:31.640 By beginning to cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit. 00:16:31.640 --> 00:16:33.240 Jesus put it this way. 00:16:33.240 --> 00:16:36.440 In John chapter 16, verse 13 to 15, he says, 00:16:36.440 --> 00:16:40.640 Hey guys, I'm going away, but I'm sending you the Spirit and listen to what he'll do for you. 00:16:41.040 --> 00:16:44.240 He says in verse 13 to 15, he says, 00:16:45.840 --> 00:16:48.640 I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 00:16:48.640 --> 00:16:52.040 But when the Spirit of truth comes, he'll guide you into all truth. 00:16:52.040 --> 00:16:56.040 So he guides you, guides me, guides us into all truth. 00:16:56.040 --> 00:16:57.440 He will not speak on his own. 00:16:57.440 --> 00:17:01.240 He will speak only what he hears and he will tell you what is yet to come. 00:17:01.240 --> 00:17:05.640 He will bring glory to me by taking from what is mine and making it known to you. 00:17:05.640 --> 00:17:07.640 All that belongs to the Father is mine. 00:17:07.640 --> 00:17:11.240 That is why I said the Spirit will take from what is mine and make it known to you. 00:17:11.240 --> 00:17:12.640 Guys, look at what he's saying. 00:17:12.640 --> 00:17:15.840 He's saying, I'm sending you a Spirit who'll actually do this guys. 00:17:15.840 --> 00:17:17.040 He'll come and tell you the truth. 00:17:17.040 --> 00:17:18.440 He'll take from what is mine. 00:17:18.440 --> 00:17:19.440 He'll reveal it to you. 00:17:19.440 --> 00:17:20.440 He'll bring it to you. 00:17:20.440 --> 00:17:22.640 And how in the world am I going to get into this 00:17:22.640 --> 00:17:27.440 unless I begin to cultivate a relationship with the very Spirit who dwelt in Jesus Christ? 00:17:29.440 --> 00:17:30.640 This is a guarantee. 00:17:30.640 --> 00:17:32.840 This is Christ saying this is what he will do. 00:17:33.640 --> 00:17:39.040 Well then Jacob, get up and begin to relate to, cultivate a relationship with, talk with, 00:17:39.040 --> 00:17:41.240 try to listen to the Spirit of God. 00:17:41.240 --> 00:17:41.840 Yep. 00:17:49.040 --> 00:17:50.240 We are all at different stages. 00:17:50.240 --> 00:17:56.640 So when I make a statement like that, for those of us who are doing well, press in more. 00:17:56.640 --> 00:17:59.640 For those of us who haven't started, let's start. 00:17:59.640 --> 00:18:01.840 Cultivate is a word that will apply to everybody, right? 00:18:01.840 --> 00:18:04.440 Because none of us are yet where Christ is. 00:18:05.640 --> 00:18:09.440 So the whole intent of becoming friends with the Spirit of God, 00:18:09.440 --> 00:18:13.040 who alone reveals Christ, who brings us the truth, 00:18:13.040 --> 00:18:17.640 who takes from what is God's, who releases it upon the earth at the right time, 00:18:17.640 --> 00:18:20.840 cultivate a relationship with the Spirit of God, 00:18:20.840 --> 00:18:24.040 who is alive, who is vibrant, who is present right now, 00:18:24.040 --> 00:18:27.840 who must be shaking his head with glee as we talk about him. 00:18:28.840 --> 00:18:30.240 Because he yearns over us. 00:18:30.240 --> 00:18:34.040 James actually says that the Spirit of God yearns over us, 00:18:34.040 --> 00:18:37.640 jealously, jealously yearns over us. 00:18:39.640 --> 00:18:43.440 Someone who yearns over you wants to give to you everything that he has. 00:18:49.440 --> 00:18:57.040 Thirdly, see things that exist in God who is present right now. 00:18:57.240 --> 00:18:59.840 See things that exist in God who is Spirit. 00:18:59.840 --> 00:19:01.240 This is a very odd one. 00:19:01.240 --> 00:19:03.840 See things that already exist in God. 00:19:03.840 --> 00:19:08.640 See things that exist in God. 00:19:17.640 --> 00:19:18.440 It's very odd. 00:19:18.440 --> 00:19:24.040 This is really amazing scripture in Hebrews chapter 11, verse 10. 00:19:24.040 --> 00:19:27.240 Abraham, even though he was given a promised land, 00:19:27.240 --> 00:19:32.240 saw a city that was constructed without hand. 00:19:32.240 --> 00:19:37.640 And he set his eyes on that city instead of the city here on earth. 00:19:37.640 --> 00:19:41.240 The man actually saw something. 00:19:41.240 --> 00:19:46.440 And he realized that, yep, I've been given a promise that I will inherit a brand new land. 00:19:46.440 --> 00:19:50.640 But this brand new land that I'm inheriting ain't nothing compared to that city 00:19:50.640 --> 00:19:52.640 that has been built without hand. 00:19:54.840 --> 00:20:00.240 There are things that God is willing to show us about people, about nations, 00:20:00.240 --> 00:20:05.840 about the city of Maple Ridge that we have never seen, that you won't find in the Bible. 00:20:05.840 --> 00:20:09.240 But God will begin to show us what his original plan was, 00:20:09.240 --> 00:20:10.840 his original intent was. 00:20:10.840 --> 00:20:17.040 Part of the prophetic is to bring people to recognize God's original intent. 00:20:17.040 --> 00:20:20.240 Once you see God's original intent, your heart will thrill. 00:20:20.240 --> 00:20:26.240 Guys, if you have a child and God actually showed you the days that he had planned for that child, 00:20:26.240 --> 00:20:32.840 you as parents would do everything in your power to make those days possible. 00:20:32.840 --> 00:20:41.040 Because there is an original intent that God has a finished picture of your baby. 00:20:41.040 --> 00:20:44.440 I mean, she's pregnant, she's got a baby in her womb. 00:20:44.440 --> 00:20:54.440 There is a finished picture of this baby that God has that if we could discover, it would blow our mind. 00:20:59.840 --> 00:21:05.440 Where we see things that exist in God. Why? Because everything is contained in him. 00:21:05.440 --> 00:21:07.640 Isaiah in the message puts it this way, 00:21:07.640 --> 00:21:11.040 you are the beginning and the end and everything in between.
