So we'll do part two of Eagle Eye. 00:00:13.000 --> 00:00:21.000 And so quickly to introduce what we started last week, we said that Eagle Eye is just a phrase. 00:00:21.000 --> 00:00:23.000 You could use any phrase you want. 00:00:23.000 --> 00:00:30.000 Basically what we are talking about is eyes of faith or spiritual sight, which is critical to living an unlimited God life. 00:00:30.000 --> 00:00:32.000 That's what we said last week. 00:00:32.000 --> 00:00:44.000 This is basically about eyes of faith or spiritual eyesight, a spiritual sight that is critical to living an unlimited God life. 00:00:44.000 --> 00:00:47.000 You must have eyes of faith and spiritual sight. 00:00:47.000 --> 00:00:54.000 And it's based on the premise that God is spirit and everything begins in the spiritual realm. 00:00:54.000 --> 00:00:59.000 And that all things of God are conceived in the realm of the Word and the Spirit. 00:00:59.000 --> 00:01:08.000 Therefore, it's a great idea to be someone who knows how to see things in the Spirit. 00:01:08.000 --> 00:01:11.000 So that's what we started with last week and now we continue. 00:01:11.000 --> 00:01:13.000 So guys, here's the thing. 00:01:13.000 --> 00:01:21.000 Seeing things in the Spirit or seeing things with spiritual eyes isn't some huge mountain we have to climb. 00:01:21.000 --> 00:01:29.000 It's not some kind of esoteric special knowledge that you have to have where, oh, you've got to really get into the zone. 00:01:29.000 --> 00:01:36.000 No, nothing like that. It's so simple because God always hides things in plain sight. 00:01:36.000 --> 00:01:40.000 God always hides things in plain sight. 00:01:40.000 --> 00:01:46.000 It's not some deep realm experience that only a few super Christians can engage in. 00:01:46.000 --> 00:01:56.000 There's nothing, there's nothing in Christianity that is meant for super Christians because there is nothing in Christianity called a super Christian. 00:01:56.000 --> 00:02:00.000 Everything is available for everybody. 00:02:00.000 --> 00:02:06.000 And therefore, this is no deep knowledge. This is not some specialized skill you have to learn. 00:02:06.000 --> 00:02:10.000 God hides things in plain sight. 00:02:10.000 --> 00:02:16.000 So the question then is, why does God hide things? Why does God hide things? 00:02:16.000 --> 00:02:24.000 The thing is, guys, God conceals his splendor. God conceals his wisdom with one intent, that he may reveal it. 00:02:24.000 --> 00:02:28.000 These are things if you understand about God, life becomes so simple. 00:02:28.000 --> 00:02:32.000 Everything he hides, he hides with the intent of revealing. 00:02:32.000 --> 00:02:41.000 He conceals his wisdom. He conceals his splendor. Why? So that it may be revealed. To whom? To anybody who searches. 00:02:41.000 --> 00:02:47.000 The equation is very simple. I hide things because I love revealing them. 00:02:47.000 --> 00:02:51.000 I hide things because I love revealing. That's the kind of God we serve. 00:02:51.000 --> 00:02:56.000 When you read the book of Isaiah, you see this again and again. He says, do I speak in riddles? 00:02:56.000 --> 00:03:01.000 Am I nebulous in what I say? Don't I make things very clear? 00:03:01.000 --> 00:03:06.000 He says that. So when God hides things, he hides things so that he may reveal them. 00:03:06.000 --> 00:03:09.000 And who does he reveal it to? To anybody who searches. 00:03:09.000 --> 00:03:18.000 If you go to Proverbs 29, 29, sorry, Deuteronomy 29, 29, Deuteronomy 29, 29, 00:03:18.000 --> 00:03:26.000 it says there, the secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, 00:03:26.000 --> 00:03:30.000 that we may follow all the words of this Lord. That's the other beautiful thing. 00:03:30.000 --> 00:03:37.000 Why is he hiding stuff so that we may search it? Why search it so that we may live according to his nature and his principles? 00:03:37.000 --> 00:03:41.000 That's the beauty of this. This is not a God who gives us a list of things. 00:03:41.000 --> 00:03:48.000 Because guys, if your wife, the day she got married, soon after you say I do, pulls out a list from her pocket, 00:03:48.000 --> 00:03:57.000 and it's a long list, it's almost the length of her, whatever that thing is that goes behind her, the trail, yeah. 00:03:57.000 --> 00:04:02.000 What if she pulled out a list as long as that and said these are the things you now have to do? 00:04:02.000 --> 00:04:08.000 I just want you to know honey that there's no mystery to me, read this and you'll know all about me. 00:04:10.000 --> 00:04:15.000 That's not how it works. You're supposed to discover who she is. 00:04:15.000 --> 00:04:17.000 Because she doesn't know either. 00:04:18.000 --> 00:04:26.000 The point is that at the end of the day, God who knows himself well and knows you well hides things so that you discover them. 00:04:26.000 --> 00:04:29.000 Why? So that you may walk in his nature and his ways. 00:04:29.000 --> 00:04:31.000 This should be a passion for us. 00:04:32.000 --> 00:04:38.000 It's a shame that Christianity has been reduced to his ways are higher than our ways, his thoughts are higher than our thoughts, 00:04:38.000 --> 00:04:45.000 so he's out there and we are here and we shall just somehow meander through life saying if it be God's will. 00:04:48.000 --> 00:04:50.000 That is so sad. 00:04:51.000 --> 00:04:55.000 It is true that his ways are higher than our ways, his thoughts are higher than our thoughts, 00:04:55.000 --> 00:05:00.000 but then he says I have given you Christ and I have given you the mind of Christ and I have given you the Holy Spirit 00:05:00.000 --> 00:05:03.000 so that you may know my higher ways and higher thoughts. 00:05:04.000 --> 00:05:05.000 Awesome eh? 00:05:07.000 --> 00:05:09.000 So make it a passion to discover him. 00:05:09.000 --> 00:05:13.000 Because there is no discovery without searching because he hides things. 00:05:13.000 --> 00:05:15.000 Deuteronomy 29, 29 again, 00:05:15.000 --> 00:05:21.000 the secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever. 00:05:21.000 --> 00:05:23.000 And that's the crazy thing. 00:05:23.000 --> 00:05:25.000 It's not just for you, it's for your children too. 00:05:25.000 --> 00:05:33.000 If we discover something today, our children will not have to go spending time searching those things out 00:05:33.000 --> 00:05:35.000 because we are talking about an infinite God. 00:05:35.000 --> 00:05:40.000 We could spend the rest of eternity figuring him out and we still wouldn't scratch the surface. 00:05:43.000 --> 00:05:46.000 If you do that any louder we'll have to put you on probation. 00:05:47.000 --> 00:05:49.000 No kidding, you can go right ahead. 00:05:50.000 --> 00:05:52.000 Next time bring more so we can check. 00:05:54.000 --> 00:05:56.000 It's embarrassing when that happens. 00:05:57.000 --> 00:06:01.000 Be it a restaurant or a church, you go slurping and then suddenly everybody. 00:06:01.000 --> 00:06:04.000 And then someone highlights it and begins talking about it. 00:06:06.000 --> 00:06:07.000 And records it too. 00:06:08.000 --> 00:06:09.000 Moving on. 00:06:12.000 --> 00:06:19.000 Proverbs 25 verse, Proverbs 25 verse, Proverbs 25, what was it anyway? 00:06:19.000 --> 00:06:20.000 What was it anyway? 00:06:21.000 --> 00:06:23.000 Proverbs 25 verse 2. 00:06:24.000 --> 00:06:26.000 Guys, this is a great verse. 00:06:26.000 --> 00:06:32.000 It says, it is the glory of God to conceal a matter, to search out a matter is the glory of King. 00:06:32.000 --> 00:06:37.000 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, to search out a matter is the glory of King. 00:06:37.000 --> 00:06:39.000 He calls us that. 00:06:39.000 --> 00:06:41.000 He calls us King. 00:06:42.000 --> 00:06:45.000 Not because he wants us to have a whole lot of money and stuff like that. 00:06:45.000 --> 00:06:48.000 He calls us Kings because we come from the same line. 00:06:48.000 --> 00:06:50.000 It's the glory of God to conceal a matter. 00:06:50.000 --> 00:06:52.000 To search out a matter is the glory of King. 00:06:52.000 --> 00:06:56.000 Meaning it is our prerogative birthright. 00:06:57.000 --> 00:07:02.000 It is supposed to be our right of passage to find out the very things that God concealed. 00:07:05.000 --> 00:07:08.000 Through the word and through the spirit, both are willing. 00:07:11.000 --> 00:07:16.000 And how does God then begin to reveal things when you begin to search for them? 00:07:16.000 --> 00:07:18.000 It's disclosed in perfect timeframes. 00:07:18.000 --> 00:07:22.000 It is disclosed in perfect timeframes as we search for it. 00:07:22.000 --> 00:07:26.000 Just because you go searching doesn't mean that God will say, 00:07:26.000 --> 00:07:29.000 Alright, I saw you searching for the last two minutes. 00:07:29.000 --> 00:07:30.000 Let me tell you the whole truth. 00:07:30.000 --> 00:07:35.000 No, as you begin to search, he discloses things in perfect timeframes. 00:07:35.000 --> 00:07:40.000 Why? Because you can only handle so much of his splendor as you keep growing. 00:07:40.000 --> 00:07:46.000 I'm fascinated with the things that I keep learning over the last 28 or 29 years. 00:07:46.000 --> 00:07:51.000 And I know that I would not be able to handle it had I learned it the second day after I got born again. 00:07:54.000 --> 00:07:59.000 You're talking about him who lives in unapproachable light, whose radiance is brilliant. 00:07:59.000 --> 00:08:04.000 You're talking about someone like that, who is the beginning and the end of all wisdom. 00:08:05.000 --> 00:08:10.000 To be able to handle the things he gives happens in perfect timeframes. 00:08:10.000 --> 00:08:13.000 Even as a church, forget us as individuals now. 00:08:13.000 --> 00:08:15.000 Now think about us as a church. 00:08:15.000 --> 00:08:22.000 As a people of God, God will still reveal things, disclose things over a period of time as the church matures, 00:08:22.000 --> 00:08:24.000 just like you would do with your kids. 00:08:24.000 --> 00:08:27.000 You would not allow your kids to handle crystal. 00:08:29.000 --> 00:08:31.000 Because they just don't know how to. 00:08:32.000 --> 00:08:41.000 Keep searching guys. If you go to 1 Peter, 1 Peter 1, 10 to 12, 1 Peter 1, 10 to 12, 00:08:41.000 --> 00:08:45.000 a really cool verse, 1 Peter 1, 10 to 12. 00:08:51.000 --> 00:08:54.000 Here's what it says, 1 Peter 1, 10 to 12. 00:08:55.000 --> 00:09:01.000 Concerning this salvation, the prophets who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, 00:09:01.000 --> 00:09:04.000 searched intently and with the greatest care, 00:09:04.000 --> 00:09:10.000 trying to find out the time and the circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing 00:09:10.000 --> 00:09:14.000 when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that follow. 00:09:14.000 --> 00:09:18.000 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you 00:09:18.000 --> 00:09:22.000 when they spoke of the things that have now been told you 00:09:22.000 --> 00:09:26.000 by those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. 00:09:26.000 --> 00:09:28.000 Even angels long look into these things. 00:09:28.000 --> 00:09:36.000 The point being, prophets who were much smarter, much holier, much sharper than us in figuring out the mind of God 00:09:36.000 --> 00:09:40.000 were told things that they had diligently began to search 00:09:40.000 --> 00:09:46.000 but they were told that listen, you're being shown a little so that a future generation may know the fullness of it. 00:09:47.000 --> 00:09:52.000 And the cool thing about having spiritual sight is you begin to see things about God 00:09:52.000 --> 00:09:56.000 that you can leave to generations that come after you, not one generation, 00:09:56.000 --> 00:09:59.000 generations that come after you. 00:10:02.000 --> 00:10:09.000 I think it's so awesome to carry this huge deposit that God reveals to you 00:10:09.000 --> 00:10:13.000 and you live it out and you pass it on to generations after. 00:10:13.000 --> 00:10:19.000 Even the angels seek to look into it but someone searched for it diligently 00:10:19.000 --> 00:10:25.000 and they were told by God that listen, you're not serving yourself, you're serving the people yet to come. 00:10:28.000 --> 00:10:31.000 So what if we don't fully understand things right now? 00:10:31.000 --> 00:10:35.000 We keep searching, keep searching, keep opening doors. 00:10:35.000 --> 00:10:37.000 Any questions before I go? 00:10:43.000 --> 00:10:47.000 That's why I said God hides things in plain sight. 00:10:47.000 --> 00:10:50.000 God hides things in plain sight. 00:10:50.000 --> 00:10:57.000 I mean think of Hagar in Genesis 21 verse 19. 00:10:57.000 --> 00:11:03.000 God opens Hagar's eyes and right before her she sees a well of water. 00:11:04.000 --> 00:11:07.000 It is ever-present guys. We got the Spirit of God in us. 00:11:07.000 --> 00:11:08.000 God creates everything. 00:11:08.000 --> 00:11:10.000 He doesn't say you're not serving yourself. 00:11:10.000 --> 00:11:12.000 He doesn't say you have to go up a mountain to find me. 00:11:12.000 --> 00:11:15.000 He doesn't say you got to go down into the depth to find me. 00:11:15.000 --> 00:11:17.000 It is there before you. 00:11:17.000 --> 00:11:20.000 Only as we become alert to the Spirit of God, 00:11:20.000 --> 00:11:22.000 He begins to show us these things. They are in plain sight. 00:11:22.000 --> 00:11:26.000 Everything you need for life and godliness is present 00:11:26.000 --> 00:11:29.000 but if only we can see it before it actually materializes, 00:11:29.000 --> 00:11:33.000 then we will be able to walk without fear or concern, 00:11:33.000 --> 00:11:37.000 without becoming ones who panic not knowing where help will come from. 00:11:37.000 --> 00:11:41.000 When David says I look up to the hills from where comes my help, 00:11:41.000 --> 00:11:43.000 he's not talking about looking up to the hills. 00:11:43.000 --> 00:11:46.000 He's talking about looking to the one from whom his help come. 00:11:51.000 --> 00:11:52.000 Yep. 00:11:52.000 --> 00:11:56.000 So God opens Hagar's eyes, she sees a well of water. 00:11:56.000 --> 00:12:01.000 God opens Balaam's eyes and he sees the angel that the donkey saw. 00:12:01.000 --> 00:12:06.000 God opens Elisha's eyes and then Elisha goes and opens the servant's eyes 00:12:06.000 --> 00:12:12.000 and see the sky full of chariots of the armies of Israel. 00:12:12.000 --> 00:12:16.000 God opens the eyes of the two guys who are walking down the road to Emmaus 00:12:16.000 --> 00:12:21.000 and suddenly the same guys who couldn't see Jesus see him as clear as daylight. 00:12:24.000 --> 00:12:28.000 These were the two guys who were walking down the road to Emmaus 00:12:29.000 --> 00:12:33.000 These were people that God had to go and catch their eyes literally to open them. 00:12:33.000 --> 00:12:36.000 We are talking about oh God as it says in Ephesians 1.18, 00:12:36.000 --> 00:12:39.000 would you enlighten my eyes so that I may begin to walk 00:12:39.000 --> 00:12:42.000 and see things without you having to open my eyes because you've opened them. 00:12:42.000 --> 00:12:45.000 I just see things now as you present them. 00:12:45.000 --> 00:12:49.000 I don't see things as you open my eyes, I see things as you present them. 00:12:49.000 --> 00:12:50.000 Different. 00:12:50.000 --> 00:12:51.000 Different. 00:12:54.000 --> 00:13:01.000 Psalm 119 verse 18 says in the old, in the KJV or NKJV probably say, 00:13:01.000 --> 00:13:09.000 open thou, KJV obviously, open thou mine eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. 00:13:09.000 --> 00:13:11.000 Listen to how the message puts it. 00:13:11.000 --> 00:13:16.000 The message says, open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle wonder. 00:13:16.000 --> 00:13:22.000 Open my eyes so I can see what you show me of your miracle wonder. 00:13:22.000 --> 00:13:30.000 And it absolutely resounds out of your law because in his law, in his word, our miracle wonder. 00:13:30.000 --> 00:13:33.000 Open my eyes. This was David's cry. 00:13:33.000 --> 00:13:38.000 And it's the same cry that Paul then repeats in Ephesians 1.18, which we'll end with. 00:13:38.000 --> 00:13:42.000 Where he says in Ephesians 1.18, your eyes focused and clear 00:13:43.000 --> 00:13:52.000 so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to and grasp the immensity of the glorious way of life he has for Christians. 00:13:52.000 --> 00:13:54.000 Did you hear that? 00:13:54.000 --> 00:14:01.000 So that we may grasp the immensity of the glorious way of life he has for us Christians. 00:14:01.000 --> 00:14:06.000 So that we may grasp the immensity, not an average Christian life, 00:14:06.000 --> 00:14:09.000 because there is really nothing called an average Christian life. 00:14:10.000 --> 00:14:17.000 So that we may grasp the immensity of the glorious way of life that is reserved for us Christians. 00:14:17.000 --> 00:14:24.000 And glorious, not by earthly standards, glorious as in the splendor and the nature of God. 00:14:24.000 --> 00:14:28.000 Whatever that might mean in different times of my life. 00:14:28.000 --> 00:14:31.000 Any questions? 00:14:31.000 --> 00:14:41.000 Some 119 verse 18. 00:14:41.000 --> 00:14:48.000 The strange thing is guys, if you go to Deuteronomy 29, 2-4, 00:14:48.000 --> 00:14:52.000 Deuteronomy 29, 2-4, there's this very sad verse there. 00:14:52.000 --> 00:14:56.000 It says, you have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes, 00:14:56.000 --> 00:15:02.000 but to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, or eyes to see, or ears to hear. 00:15:02.000 --> 00:15:06.000 You have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes. 00:15:06.000 --> 00:15:13.000 But to this day, the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear. 00:15:13.000 --> 00:15:14.000 Deuteronomy 29, 2-4. 00:15:14.000 --> 00:15:18.000 So it's possible for God to be doing things, but for us not to see. 00:15:18.000 --> 00:15:24.000 For God to be doing things that my eyes not seeing, my ears not hearing, my mind not understand. 00:15:24.000 --> 00:15:28.000 Strange, huh? That's possible. 00:15:28.000 --> 00:15:36.000 And so, I want to look at what do we have to do to not fall into that trap. 00:15:36.000 --> 00:15:45.000 So here are some of the things we can begin to practice. 00:15:45.000 --> 00:15:55.000 One, to see things, practice awareness. 00:15:55.000 --> 00:16:05.000 Practice awareness of the Spirit. 00:16:05.000 --> 00:16:15.000 As in, stay within the earshot and the vision range of the Spirit of God. 00:16:15.000 --> 00:16:18.000 Stay within range and earshot of the Spirit of God. 00:16:18.000 --> 00:16:22.000 As in, begin to practice being aware of the Spirit of God. 00:16:22.000 --> 00:16:25.000 Begin to practice being aware of the Spirit of God. 00:16:25.000 --> 00:16:30.000 Where it doesn't matter what you're doing, doesn't matter how intensely you're involved in programming, 00:16:31.000 --> 00:16:39.000 or in cooking, or in washing dishes, or in work, or in driving, or in preparing a message. 00:16:39.000 --> 00:16:41.000 It doesn't matter how engaged you are. 00:16:41.000 --> 00:16:51.000 You have begun to practice this way of living, where you're constantly aware of what the Spirit of God may say, may show at any moment. 00:16:51.000 --> 00:16:57.000 When you begin to live like this, within the earshot of the Spirit of God, and within his vision range, 00:16:57.000 --> 00:17:04.000 you're like a child who is in a play park with swings and stuff like that, 00:17:04.000 --> 00:17:10.000 and the mother sits on one of the benches with another mother that's visiting with her child, 00:17:10.000 --> 00:17:13.000 and these kids will start playing on the seesaw on the swing. 00:17:13.000 --> 00:17:18.000 And every time they go to the swing, they look up at their mother to see if their mother approved. 00:17:18.000 --> 00:17:22.000 And if the mother approves, then there's a smile, the kid sits on the swing, and they begin to swing. 00:17:22.000 --> 00:17:30.000 And as the swing gets a little swingier, they again begin to look at the mother to see if it's okay. 00:17:30.000 --> 00:17:36.000 And if the mother doesn't grimace or doesn't have any other expression on the face, they keep doing it. 00:17:36.000 --> 00:17:42.000 Kids do that, eh? They look at their parents' face to check whether it is safe and it's okay. 00:17:42.000 --> 00:17:45.000 And if it's okay and it's safe, they begin to do what they do. 00:17:45.000 --> 00:17:50.000 You'll see them standing on some high thing and wanting to jump off. 00:17:50.000 --> 00:17:56.000 But before they jump off, they look at you to figure out, is this a good idea? 00:17:56.000 --> 00:18:00.000 And if your face is poker face, they'll jump. 00:18:00.000 --> 00:18:04.000 If there's even a slight tingling of the brow, they'll stop. 00:18:04.000 --> 00:18:07.000 Then they'll only threaten. 00:18:07.000 --> 00:18:12.000 Why give this example? Because that is how it works with the Spirit of God. 00:18:12.000 --> 00:18:18.000 You're within his earshot, you're within his vision range, and you begin to practice this life of, 00:18:18.000 --> 00:18:21.000 it doesn't matter what you're doing, you'll begin to hear. 00:18:21.000 --> 00:18:28.000 So the coolest things that happen to me is when I hear when I'm not even speaking. 00:18:28.000 --> 00:18:37.000 Like I'll be doing something, watching TV sometime, and in the middle of watching Trump, the Spirit of God can still speak. 00:18:37.000 --> 00:18:46.000 And you hear him clearly. Why? Because your ear is tuned to it. It's the art of double listening. 00:18:46.000 --> 00:18:48.000 Practice this. Any questions on that? 00:18:48.000 --> 00:18:55.000 I mean, I was, just a few days ago, I remember I was doing something that was so unrelated to anything Christian. 00:18:55.000 --> 00:19:01.000 And as clear as daylight, you hear God saying, hey, by the way, this year, make sure you're here on all the days of peace, 00:19:01.000 --> 00:19:11.000 or stuff like Good Friday, Sunday, or Resurrection Sunday, peace to tabernacles, any cause, be here, don't travel. 00:19:11.000 --> 00:19:15.000 Because every year for the last four years, I've been away. 00:19:15.000 --> 00:19:20.000 Out of the blue. And so I made a mental note of it and decided, okay, out of the blue. 00:19:20.000 --> 00:19:24.000 So now I don't have to worry about it for the next 10 months. 00:19:24.000 --> 00:19:28.000 I wasn't asking him. He was telling. 00:19:28.000 --> 00:19:32.000 The more we practice this, the more it becomes conversation. 00:19:32.000 --> 00:19:36.000 The thing is, guys, when someone asks you, hey, do you pray a lot? 00:19:36.000 --> 00:19:46.000 Your answer should be that I have ceaseless relational conversations with God. 00:19:46.000 --> 00:19:56.000 And out of these ceaseless relational conversations, I now fuel deliberate, 00:19:56.000 --> 00:20:11.000 woven, effective, times of set aside prayer. 00:20:11.000 --> 00:20:16.000 That's how this works, guys. 00:20:16.000 --> 00:20:24.000 It begins with ceaseless relational conversation. 00:20:24.000 --> 00:20:28.000 Where you're always conversing.
