00:00:00.000 --> 00:00:12.800
Okay, so guys, today I want to talk about a topic that came up when Chad was praying

00:00:12.800 --> 00:00:13.800
for the church.

00:00:13.800 --> 00:00:18.320
Praful, am I holding it the right way and at the right distance?

00:00:18.320 --> 00:00:22.600
Just one sec guys, we've got to measure this.

00:00:22.600 --> 00:00:35.680
So this came up when Chad was praying and he talked about us being so moved, so directed

00:00:35.680 --> 00:00:38.120
by the glory of God and nothing else.

00:00:38.120 --> 00:00:43.120
And so if you want a title for what we're going to talk about today and perhaps for

00:00:43.120 --> 00:00:48.640
at least another week, it's disruptive glory, disruptive glory.

00:00:48.640 --> 00:00:52.240
That's the title, disruptive glory.

00:00:52.400 --> 00:01:00.960
Because when Chad was praying at the end he said, oh God, may we be so caught up in bringing

00:01:00.960 --> 00:01:08.080
you glory just like it used to be in the days of old when your glory alone was sufficient

00:01:08.080 --> 00:01:13.520
and Moses would not be able to minister, the priests would not be able to minister and

00:01:13.520 --> 00:01:16.840
disrupt our lives with your glory.

00:01:16.840 --> 00:01:22.680
And so felt that one of the things we should talk about is disruptive glory.

00:01:22.680 --> 00:01:27.520
Disruptive, disruptive glory.

00:01:27.520 --> 00:01:30.320
Don't learn how to share with Phoebe please.

00:01:30.320 --> 00:01:31.320
Disruptive glory.

00:01:31.320 --> 00:01:33.880
Yeah?

00:01:33.880 --> 00:01:41.960
So guys, how we define it is glory has three main components.

00:01:41.960 --> 00:01:45.280
Glory has three main parts.

00:01:45.280 --> 00:01:48.320
Glory has three main parts and so here goes.

00:01:48.320 --> 00:01:52.560
The first part, if you look at the Old Testament and the New Testament you'll find that glory

00:01:52.560 --> 00:01:55.840
can be divided into these three main parts.

00:01:55.840 --> 00:02:00.640
The first part is the dazzling brightness or splendor of God.

00:02:00.640 --> 00:02:05.840
The dazzling brightness or splendor of God.

00:02:05.840 --> 00:02:13.080
The dazzling brightness or splendor of God is often referred to as glory in the New Testament

00:02:13.080 --> 00:02:14.080
and the Old Testament.

00:02:14.160 --> 00:02:25.040
So you read passages like Exodus 19, verse 16 to 19 and you see that God came in amazing

00:02:25.040 --> 00:02:26.040
glory.

00:02:26.040 --> 00:02:27.040
So let's read these passages.

00:02:27.040 --> 00:02:28.880
There's a lot of reading to do today.

00:02:28.880 --> 00:02:32.680
Exodus 19, 16 to 19.

00:02:32.680 --> 00:02:42.600
It says that on the morning of the third day there was thunder and lightning with a thick

00:02:42.680 --> 00:02:45.880
cloud over the mountain and a very loud trumpet blast.

00:02:45.880 --> 00:02:48.000
Everyone in the camp trembled.

00:02:48.000 --> 00:02:51.640
Then Moses led the people out of the camp to meet with God and they stood at the foot

00:02:51.640 --> 00:02:52.640
of the mountain.

00:02:52.640 --> 00:02:57.760
Mount Sinai was covered with smoke because the Lord descended on it in fire.

00:02:57.760 --> 00:03:00.820
The smoke billowed up from it like smoke from a furnace.

00:03:00.820 --> 00:03:06.040
The whole mountain trembled violently and the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder.

00:03:06.040 --> 00:03:08.480
Then Moses spoke and the voice of God answered.

00:03:08.480 --> 00:03:14.040
So there is that part of God's glory which is dazzling brightness and splendor.

00:03:14.040 --> 00:03:19.840
Then there is glory that is His great power and strength.

00:03:19.840 --> 00:03:24.420
His great power and strength.

00:03:24.420 --> 00:03:28.000
His great power and strength.

00:03:28.000 --> 00:03:39.300
And you find that in passages like Psalm 105 verse 27 to 45 where it talks about how God

00:03:39.300 --> 00:03:50.200
led Israel out of Egypt with displays of strength and power where it became the reason why Yahweh

00:03:50.200 --> 00:03:56.000
was given much glory not just by Israel but by the Egyptians who released them to go and

00:03:56.000 --> 00:04:03.560
by neighboring nations that kept a healthy distance because He delivered them by an outstretched

00:04:03.560 --> 00:04:07.920
arm and a mighty hand or a mighty hand and an outstretched arm.

00:04:07.920 --> 00:04:13.240
And so there is this aspect of glory that is attributed to His great power and strength.

00:04:13.240 --> 00:04:18.580
And then the third part is majesty and honor.

00:04:18.580 --> 00:04:21.020
Majesty and honor.

00:04:21.020 --> 00:04:26.220
Majesty and honor.

00:04:26.220 --> 00:04:27.220
Majesty and honor.

00:04:27.220 --> 00:04:32.620
And that's what you read in scriptures like Isaiah 6, 1-6.

00:04:32.620 --> 00:04:41.180
Isaiah 6, 1-6 is another scripture where you see that where I saw the king seated on his

00:04:41.180 --> 00:04:47.300
throne, the train of his robe filled the temple and that is the idea of majesty and honor.

00:04:47.300 --> 00:04:53.340
Very often what happens is in us as Christians there is a soulish hunger after the first

00:04:53.340 --> 00:05:00.960
one the dazzling brightness and splendor and in our soulish hunger for brightness and splendor

00:05:00.960 --> 00:05:08.020
and dazzle we forget that there are two aspects besides that to God's glory and so we miss

00:05:08.020 --> 00:05:11.500
out on this in our pursuit of this.

00:05:11.660 --> 00:05:20.940
And I'd say all three apply and we should hold them all together, not separate them.

00:05:20.940 --> 00:05:26.700
So disruptive glory, what disruptive glory does is disruptive glory and why call it disruptive

00:05:26.700 --> 00:05:27.700
glory?

00:05:27.700 --> 00:05:29.060
Why not just call it glory?

00:05:29.060 --> 00:05:39.380
I call it disruptive glory because disruptive glory draws a distinction, draws a distinction

00:05:39.380 --> 00:05:47.180
between the one true God, between the one true God and all else.

00:05:47.180 --> 00:05:51.280
The one true God and all else.

00:05:51.280 --> 00:05:59.740
He disrupts what is normal and he makes it very obvious that he alone is God and nobody

00:05:59.740 --> 00:06:00.740
else is.

00:06:00.740 --> 00:06:06.220
And you see this in the Old Testament and the New Testament where you see God being

00:06:06.220 --> 00:06:13.940
disruptive when he brings forth his glory in Egypt and through the ten plagues makes

00:06:13.940 --> 00:06:22.340
Ra and every other Egyptian God bow down and all the Egyptians acknowledge that Israel's

00:06:22.340 --> 00:06:25.100
God is God alone.

00:06:25.100 --> 00:06:30.500
You take the journey through the wilderness and you come to Sinai and you see that this

00:06:30.500 --> 00:06:36.940
God is called the dread of Jacob and the nations around fear him for he can do mighty

00:06:36.940 --> 00:06:43.260
things like opening the Red Sea and completely drowning Pharaoh and his army bringing to

00:06:43.260 --> 00:06:49.260
their knees one of the mightiest empires that existed in the world at that time.

00:06:49.260 --> 00:06:56.560
You look at Carmel and you see Elijah and the prophets of Baal, 850 of them and there's

00:06:56.560 --> 00:07:04.220
a disruptive glory that appears in the form of fire falling from heaven and it creates

00:07:04.220 --> 00:07:09.880
a distinction between who is Yahweh and who is Baal and it's settled once forever bringing

00:07:09.880 --> 00:07:15.760
a nation that had slipped into apostasy back into worshipping the true God.

00:07:15.760 --> 00:07:22.440
You go to Matthew 17 and you climb up with Peter, James and John to the Mount of Transfiguration

00:07:22.680 --> 00:07:28.400
and you see a revelation of who Christ is in his glory and once again there is a distinction

00:07:28.400 --> 00:07:34.400
where this is no ordinary man, this is the son of God himself and Elijah and Moses come

00:07:34.400 --> 00:07:39.160
and begin to talk with him and there is a voice from heaven saying this is my son like

00:07:39.160 --> 00:07:41.240
no other.

00:07:41.240 --> 00:07:47.360
Disruptive glory when a church gets a hang of it is the kind of glory that makes it obvious

00:07:47.360 --> 00:07:50.520
that their God is God alone.

00:07:50.520 --> 00:07:56.300
So much so that in 1 Peter 1, 18 or 2 Peter 1, 18 actually Peter is saying that listen

00:07:56.300 --> 00:08:01.220
we are not spinning fables and telling you stories, we are telling you what our eyes

00:08:01.220 --> 00:08:07.800
beheld on that mountain and when we heard from on high from the majesty we heard that

00:08:07.800 --> 00:08:13.560
this son of mine is my begotten and my beloved, listen to him.

00:08:13.640 --> 00:08:20.160
Then you go to Revelation 1 and John is on Patmos and you see once again the glory of

00:08:20.160 --> 00:08:26.560
the risen Christ being revealed in Revelation 1 where he appears his eyes blazing like fire,

00:08:26.560 --> 00:08:33.200
his feet burning brass, his voice like mighty waterfall, no other, no other is able to stand

00:08:33.200 --> 00:08:34.200
up against him.

00:08:34.200 --> 00:08:38.520
You go to Revelation 4 and the heavens are open and you hear Jesus saying come up higher

00:08:38.720 --> 00:08:44.720
and as John begins to see he sees a scene from heaven where elders and angels fall before

00:08:44.720 --> 00:08:50.200
the one who is risen and who alone is God and his glory is like a thousand different

00:08:50.200 --> 00:08:57.560
gems with rainbow and in all hues and colors and below his feet is a sapphire glass like

00:08:57.560 --> 00:09:02.520
surface and they bow before him and they begin to worship very naturally because what else

00:09:02.520 --> 00:09:07.560
can you say when you behold the one true God you end up saying yours is the kingdom, yours

00:09:07.560 --> 00:09:12.040
is the power, yours is the majesty, yours is the honor and this is what Chad was talking

00:09:12.040 --> 00:09:18.720
about when he prayed on Christmas Eve saying oh God we want to walk in this glory so that

00:09:18.720 --> 00:09:26.480
we may give you the honor and majesty because when people see what God can be through us

00:09:26.480 --> 00:09:29.880
honor and majesty is given back to him.

00:09:30.400 --> 00:09:40.400
The thing is guys why is it that we don't experience this or haven't experienced it

00:09:40.400 --> 00:09:50.400
like we should and it's a horrible truth that I'm going to tell you that we cannot live

00:09:50.400 --> 00:09:52.800
this year right?

00:09:52.800 --> 00:09:59.600
At least I don't plan to live this year with this next statement that I'm going to make.

00:09:59.600 --> 00:10:11.280
The reason we don't experience this kind of glory is because we try to accommodate

00:10:11.280 --> 00:10:18.160
his glory.

00:10:18.160 --> 00:10:21.800
We try to accommodate his glory.

00:10:21.800 --> 00:10:23.240
We try to accommodate his glory.

00:10:23.240 --> 00:10:27.940
It's like okay we got a service, we got our lives, we got the way we need to do church,

00:10:27.980 --> 00:10:32.940
we got to do our business this way, we got to run our family this way, we like the idea

00:10:32.940 --> 00:10:37.820
of your glory, we will make room for it, we will accommodate your glory.

00:10:37.820 --> 00:10:42.460
Here's the thing about God's glory, you cannot accommodate his glory, you can only be foolish

00:10:42.460 --> 00:10:44.420
and surrender to it.

00:10:44.420 --> 00:10:46.820
You cannot accommodate his glory.

00:10:46.820 --> 00:10:50.820
There is no worship service that can accommodate his glory.

00:10:50.820 --> 00:10:58.060
You can only be foolish and surrender to it and this church throughout this year will

00:10:58.060 --> 00:11:01.580
be foolish and surrender to the glory of God.

00:11:01.580 --> 00:11:03.560
We will do nothing to accommodate it.

00:11:03.560 --> 00:11:07.700
We will not give him half an hour, we will not give him one hour, we will not give him

00:11:07.700 --> 00:11:13.580
ten minutes, we will not cause things to change so that his little desires can be accommodated.

00:11:13.580 --> 00:11:17.020
It is either all or none.

00:11:17.020 --> 00:11:23.040
You cannot accommodate his glory, you can only be foolish and surrender to it.

00:11:23.040 --> 00:11:28.900
You have to be foolish if you want to surrender to it.

00:11:28.900 --> 00:11:33.300
And if you surrender to it, he will deconstruct your present infrastructure.

00:11:33.300 --> 00:11:37.460
If you surrender to it, he will deconstruct your present infrastructure.

00:11:37.460 --> 00:11:43.900
He will deconstruct all that you've neatly planned with godly wisdom because glory trumps

00:11:43.900 --> 00:11:46.640
godly wisdom.

00:11:46.640 --> 00:11:49.080
What do you mean glory trumps godly wisdom?

00:11:49.080 --> 00:11:55.520
It is the presence, the majesty, the honor, the dazzling splendor, the power and the strength

00:11:55.520 --> 00:11:58.980
of God present amongst the people.

00:11:58.980 --> 00:12:11.960
You think that what you learned yesterday is sufficient to have you run tomorrow?

00:12:11.960 --> 00:12:16.440
If we surrender, he'll deconstruct our present infrastructure and I want him to.

00:12:16.440 --> 00:12:21.240
Because we have not gone this way before guys, where we are going we haven't gone before.

00:12:21.240 --> 00:12:28.080
Joshua chapter 3 verse 4, God actually says to Joshua, Joshua as they carry the ark, make

00:12:28.080 --> 00:12:33.320
sure there's a 2000 feet distance between you and the ark because you haven't gone this

00:12:33.320 --> 00:12:36.320
way before so keep sufficient distance.

00:12:36.320 --> 00:12:40.920
Watch where the ark is going as they carry it, as I direct them, watch where it's going

00:12:40.920 --> 00:12:43.840
and keep a distance.

00:12:43.840 --> 00:12:55.220
One of the things I want to do and I'll let you know that by tomorrow is have us engage

00:12:55.220 --> 00:13:00.800
in seven days of surrendering to God's glory.

00:13:00.800 --> 00:13:04.180
Night after night after night after night for seven days.

00:13:04.180 --> 00:13:09.680
Not a worship service, not a church service but some form where you can participate where

00:13:09.760 --> 00:13:15.040
the beginning of the year we say to God, Father we have no desire to accommodate your glory,

00:13:15.040 --> 00:13:16.520
we're going to surrender to it.

00:13:16.520 --> 00:13:20.040
Be disruptive, deconstruct our infrastructure.

00:13:20.040 --> 00:13:24.380
We surrender to it, we want to be foolish so that their world may be attracted to the

00:13:24.380 --> 00:13:31.000
only one who they should be attracted to through us.

00:13:31.000 --> 00:13:39.840
And I'll tell you about it once we know exactly what God wants.

00:13:39.840 --> 00:13:45.100
Another word used in the Bible, I can't get away from the simple statement that the reason

00:13:45.100 --> 00:13:49.360
we do not experience his glory is because we are always trying to accommodate it as

00:13:49.360 --> 00:13:55.400
in here is someone who's massive, we got a service to run, it'll take about two hours

00:13:56.400 --> 00:14:02.560
according to what Derek prayed today and we just want to make sure that you get your time

00:14:02.560 --> 00:14:04.320
to do you want to change the song?

00:14:04.320 --> 00:14:09.920
You think changing a song is glory?

00:14:09.920 --> 00:14:17.200
It is to be completely surrendered and foolish where you have no say in the matter because

00:14:17.200 --> 00:14:20.040
he alone is God and he runs everything.

00:14:20.040 --> 00:14:24.960
This is how Jesus used to live and you think it applies to a two and a half hour service?

00:14:24.960 --> 00:14:31.260
It applies to my entire life, my finances, my business, my marriage, my home, my family.

00:14:31.260 --> 00:14:33.560
It applies to everything, applies to parenting.

00:14:33.560 --> 00:14:36.120
Oh God, I surrender to your glory.

00:14:36.120 --> 00:14:40.520
Guys, just think of it when the Ark of the Covenant moved into Obeid Edom's home, there

00:14:40.520 --> 00:14:49.280
was not a part of Obeid Edom's home that was not touched by the absolute glory of God.

00:14:49.280 --> 00:14:50.540
What does it look like?

00:14:50.540 --> 00:14:53.080
For this reason we have arrived at this moment.

00:14:53.680 --> 00:14:58.600
Pastor Mike was saying that we've crossed over and we've come into a place of legacy

00:14:58.600 --> 00:15:04.280
where if we can show what this looks like others will have shoulders to jump off instead

00:15:04.280 --> 00:15:06.680
of having to start from scratch.

00:15:09.880 --> 00:15:16.160
Another word for glory in the Bible that you often see or you hear preachers preach it

00:15:16.160 --> 00:15:18.440
because the word actually does not exist.

00:15:18.440 --> 00:15:21.920
It's Shekinah.

00:15:21.920 --> 00:15:28.040
You've heard of Shekinah glory and the word Shekinah by itself is not really something

00:15:28.040 --> 00:15:30.200
that the Bible uses.

00:15:30.200 --> 00:15:34.360
In fact, whenever it talks about the glory of the Lord in the Old Testament they call

00:15:34.360 --> 00:15:36.400
it Kabod Adonai.

00:15:36.400 --> 00:15:38.840
Kabod is glory, Adonai is Lord.

00:15:38.840 --> 00:15:43.560
Kabod Adonai and when it comes to the New Testament it talks about Doxa.

00:15:43.560 --> 00:15:46.840
Doxa meaning glory and Kurian meaning Lord.

00:15:46.840 --> 00:15:50.920
My brother-in-law will be very excited that the glory of the Lord means Doxa Kurian because

00:15:50.920 --> 00:15:52.200
his last name is Kurian.

00:15:52.200 --> 00:16:00.600
Anyways Doxa Kurian is the glory of the Lord and the strange thing is Shekinah, the first

00:16:00.600 --> 00:16:04.560
instance of it is in Genesis chapter 3 verse 23.

00:16:04.560 --> 00:16:09.680
Genesis 3, 23.

00:16:09.680 --> 00:16:16.120
Genesis chapter 3 verse 23 and it says that,

00:16:16.120 --> 00:16:34.400
We have always assumed that he placed there an angel with a sword.

00:16:34.400 --> 00:16:35.480
That's not true.

00:16:35.480 --> 00:16:41.640
What it is saying there is that at the entrance was an angel, a cherubim, who's almost, cherubims

00:16:41.640 --> 00:16:45.240
are almost always associated with the glory of God.

00:16:45.240 --> 00:16:49.120
You'll see it in Ezekiel, you'll see it in Isaiah, cherubim, wherever cherubim appear

00:16:49.120 --> 00:16:52.120
you know there is the glory of God.

00:16:52.120 --> 00:16:56.240
But it is that there was an angel there and there was a flaming sword and that is the

00:16:56.240 --> 00:17:03.640
first time you get an idea of the Shekinah as in the dazzling blazing brilliance of God

00:17:03.640 --> 00:17:07.880
that cannot be gone past unless he allows it.

00:17:07.880 --> 00:17:12.720
It starts with this idea of a flaming sword and if you go to Genesis 15, 17 and someone

00:17:12.760 --> 00:17:18.440
was reading from Genesis 15 today, Genesis 15, 17 you see another instance of God's glory

00:17:18.440 --> 00:17:23.440
and this time it was to establish a covenant and you read that when the sun had set and

00:17:23.440 --> 00:17:28.560
darkness had fallen a smoking fire pot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between

00:17:28.560 --> 00:17:29.560
the pieces.

00:17:29.560 --> 00:17:32.640
The idea of a flaming torch once again the Shekinah.

00:17:32.640 --> 00:17:34.720
What does Shekinah really mean?

00:17:34.720 --> 00:17:37.240
Shekinah means the one who dwells.

00:17:37.240 --> 00:17:40.080
Isn't that such a beautiful term man?

00:17:40.080 --> 00:17:45.240
When you think of Shekinah you're saying Shekinah basically means the one who dwells,

00:17:45.240 --> 00:17:49.320
the one who dwells, the one who dwells.

00:17:49.320 --> 00:17:56.440
You can see why in Deuteronomy 25, if you go to Deuteronomy 25, Deuteronomy 25 verse

00:17:56.440 --> 00:18:04.000
8 and 9, Deuteronomy 25 verse 8 and 9.

00:18:04.000 --> 00:18:18.080
When the elders of this town shall, Deuteronomy 25 verse 8, no I got it wrong, maybe it's

00:18:18.080 --> 00:18:40.680
Exodus 25, Exodus 25, Exodus 25, 8 and 9.

00:18:40.680 --> 00:18:45.800
Then have them make a sanctuary for me and I will dwell among them.

00:18:45.880 --> 00:18:50.520
Make this tabernacle and all its furnishings exactly like the pattern I showed you.

00:18:50.520 --> 00:19:02.720
It is this idea, Shekinah is the idea of the one who dwells and in Exodus 25 verse 8 and

00:19:02.720 --> 00:19:04.880
9 God says two things.

00:19:04.960 --> 00:19:14.720
One, listen, I want to dwell and two, make me a tabernacle.

00:19:14.720 --> 00:19:17.000
Make me a tabernacle.

00:19:17.000 --> 00:19:21.680
Out of these two words comes the idea of Shekinah.

00:19:21.680 --> 00:19:25.080
One who dwells and make me a tabernacle.

00:19:25.080 --> 00:19:28.880
One who dwells comes from a word called, it doesn't matter, we don't need to learn Hebrew

00:19:28.880 --> 00:19:32.140
because I don't know Hebrew anyways, I'd be quoting someone else.

00:19:32.460 --> 00:19:38.420
The idea of Shekinah is the one who dwells as in I want to dwell with you and two, can

00:19:38.420 --> 00:19:39.580
you make me a tabernacle.

00:19:39.580 --> 00:19:40.580
Why is this important?

00:19:40.580 --> 00:19:43.780
Because John 1.14, remember what it says?

00:19:43.780 --> 00:19:50.820
John 1.14 says, the word became flesh and tabernacled or dwelt among us and we beheld

00:19:50.820 --> 00:19:52.700
his glory.

00:19:52.700 --> 00:20:01.860
John 1.14 says, the word became flesh and tabernacled or dwelt among us and we beheld

00:20:01.860 --> 00:20:03.180
his glory.

00:20:03.180 --> 00:20:09.900
This idea of Shekinah has been so ancient and something so desirous in the heart of

00:20:09.900 --> 00:20:13.380
God that he was setting it up right from the beginning.

00:20:13.380 --> 00:20:20.620
Initially he made this beautiful tabernacle called the earth and then placed man in it

00:20:20.620 --> 00:20:22.720
and began to walk around with man.

00:20:22.720 --> 00:20:28.020
Then he sets up a tent of meeting in the desert and he begins to occupy it.

00:20:28.020 --> 00:20:37.460
Then he turns up as God himself in Jesus Christ and you have the word becoming flesh

00:20:37.460 --> 00:20:42.180
and dwelling or tabernacling and we beheld his glory, John 1.14.

00:20:42.180 --> 00:20:47.160
And then it takes it to the next step where the indwelling of the spirit makes us a temple

00:20:47.160 --> 00:20:48.780
of the indwelling Christ.

00:20:48.780 --> 00:20:52.420
The indwelling of the spirit makes us a temple of the indwelling Christ.

00:20:52.420 --> 00:20:56.100
And now where does the Shekinah glory live?

00:20:56.100 --> 00:20:57.260
In me.

00:20:57.260 --> 00:21:03.940
The same wind and fire that you saw on Mount Sinai, you see that same wind and fire on

00:21:03.940 --> 00:21:08.180
Pentecost in Acts chapter 2.

00:21:08.180 --> 00:21:13.260
And the same wind and fire that caused God to arrive upon Mount Sinai is the same wind

00:21:13.260 --> 00:21:17.500
and fire that accompanies the arrival of the spirit in Acts chapter 2 verse 2.

00:21:17.500 --> 00:21:24.420
And now God indwells a new temple, a new temple that Paul then says is a mystery that has

00:21:24.500 --> 00:21:29.300
been hidden for generations and is now revealed Colossians 1.27.

00:21:29.300 --> 00:21:33.980
Christ in you the expectation or the hope of glory.

00:21:33.980 --> 00:21:41.140
Guys, this disruptive glory that we are talking about actually lives in us but unfortunately

00:21:41.140 --> 00:21:47.420
we do not experience it the way we should because we are always trying to accommodate

00:21:47.420 --> 00:21:48.580
God in our lives.

00:21:48.580 --> 00:21:51.780
We are always trying to accommodate his glory.

00:21:51.780 --> 00:21:53.500
Tradition accommodates his glory.

00:21:53.500 --> 00:21:56.860
Don't you think we are not traditional?

00:21:56.860 --> 00:22:06.060
We're going to put to death those things that prevent God from bursting forth bit by bit

00:22:06.060 --> 00:22:10.740
by bit will kill it every day.

00:22:10.740 --> 00:22:16.640
So that the legacy we leave is the legacy that boasts of nothing else but the glory

00:22:16.640 --> 00:22:21.260
of the risen Christ as Paul said that I will boast in nothing else.

00:22:21.260 --> 00:22:28.340
Let no flesh boast.

00:22:28.340 --> 00:22:38.780
This is the legacy we leave for all the earth.

00:22:38.780 --> 00:22:40.900
We got to build by pattern Phoebe.

00:22:40.900 --> 00:22:46.540
We got to build by pattern so that you will not have to work hard when you grow up to

00:22:46.620 --> 00:22:54.780
walk into these because you will walk into these as if it's normal.

00:22:54.780 --> 00:23:01.140
So how do we go about making sure that this glory is not accommodated that this disruptive

00:23:01.140 --> 00:23:06.700
glory is something that bursts through us so that God can be everything he wants to

00:23:06.700 --> 00:23:12.180
be without being veiled without being limited.

00:23:12.180 --> 00:23:16.100
See the great thing about Jesus was that the glory of God dwelt in him and it says so in

00:23:16.100 --> 00:23:24.020
John 1 14 that the word became flesh and tabernacled amongst us and we beheld his glory.

00:23:24.020 --> 00:23:25.020
Go to John 1 14.

00:23:25.020 --> 00:23:26.500
Let's read the whole scripture.

00:23:26.500 --> 00:23:32.700
John 1 14.

00:23:32.700 --> 00:23:36.240
The word became flesh and made his dwelling or tabernacled among us.

00:23:36.240 --> 00:23:40.340
We have seen his glory the glory of the one and only who came from the father and was

00:23:40.340 --> 00:23:42.160
full of grace and truth.

00:23:42.360 --> 00:23:51.040
The intent is father can acts 29 as a people become ones that allow you to be disruptive

00:23:51.040 --> 00:23:56.360
in your glory transforming changing affecting tearing down building up whatever you want

00:23:56.360 --> 00:24:07.400
to without being accommodated tolerated limited domesticated tamed.

00:24:07.400 --> 00:24:14.920
There should be no taming of God no taming of God.

00:24:14.920 --> 00:24:16.080
So how do we go about this?

00:24:16.080 --> 00:24:21.640
How do we do this?

00:24:21.640 --> 00:24:25.600
Guys the first thing we do is we build by pattern.

00:24:25.600 --> 00:24:32.520
We talked about this before but one of the things that really bothered me is a statement

00:24:33.120 --> 00:24:38.800
when he said we we lay aside trying to be cool Christians.

00:24:38.800 --> 00:24:41.360
I refuse this year to be a cool Christian.

00:24:41.360 --> 00:24:43.600
I refuse to be a sophisticated Christian.

00:24:43.600 --> 00:24:47.760
I refuse to be a Christian that is liked or accepted by all.

00:24:47.760 --> 00:24:49.440
I do not want that.

00:24:49.440 --> 00:24:50.920
I do not want that.

00:24:50.920 --> 00:24:54.720
It doesn't bring anything God's way.

00:24:54.720 --> 00:24:58.360
All it does is it brings things my way.

00:24:58.360 --> 00:24:59.760
I become acceptable.

00:24:59.880 --> 00:25:04.600
I become one who both knows Christ and knows how to live in the world.

00:25:04.600 --> 00:25:10.840
Don't want it man.

00:25:10.840 --> 00:25:17.200
This year we'll try not to confirm to coolness not to be sophisticated not to follow trends

00:25:17.200 --> 00:25:22.840
not to respond to stimulate the way the world expects the church to respond not to be caught

00:25:22.840 --> 00:25:28.120
up in success but only divine patterns only divine patterns go back and keep checking

00:25:28.160 --> 00:25:32.120
either go back to the word or go back to the spirit of God or go back to what God has taught

00:25:32.120 --> 00:25:38.360
us in the past and say what is the pattern here if you go to Ezekiel 43 Ezekiel 43 God

00:25:38.360 --> 00:25:44.280
says to Ezekiel hey listen teach them patterns man I'm showing you all this so that you can

00:25:44.280 --> 00:25:55.200
teach them patterns Ezekiel 43 verse 11 or starting at verse 10 son of man describe

00:25:55.280 --> 00:26:00.080
the temple to the people of Israel that they may be ashamed of their sins let them consider

00:26:00.080 --> 00:26:04.080
the plan and if they are ashamed of all they've done make known to them the design of the

00:26:04.080 --> 00:26:09.840
temple its arrangement its exits its entrances its whole design and all its regulations and

00:26:09.840 --> 00:26:16.040
laws write these down before them so that they may be faithful to its design and follow

00:26:16.040 --> 00:26:22.840
all its regulations faithful to the design follow all regulations

00:26:25.840 --> 00:26:34.040
we cannot bring in the glory of God on new carts like the Philistines did in second Samuel 3

00:26:34.040 --> 00:26:40.600
where the Philistines realized they got to send the ark back so what do they do they get a brand

00:26:40.600 --> 00:26:46.280
new cart and they put the ark on the back of the cart and send it back and what does David do David

00:26:46.280 --> 00:26:53.120
it copies what the Philistines have done we do not copy what the world does we do it the way heaven

00:26:53.120 --> 00:26:59.200
prescribes this is why I said earlier that whenever a government or whenever a church or

00:26:59.200 --> 00:27:05.280
a people that belong to God begin to look to the government as the one that sets the agenda they

00:27:05.280 --> 00:27:15.240
stop listening to heaven because heaven actually sets the agenda it's not whether Trump becomes

00:27:15.240 --> 00:27:21.120
president or Biden becomes president that affects the kingdom the kingdom is aware of every president

00:27:21.120 --> 00:27:28.840
dictate a tyrant duly elected official that ever existed and will ever exist in the future and heaven

00:27:28.840 --> 00:27:36.520
has remedies for all of it when you think that the agenda of God will only progress if a certain man

00:27:36.520 --> 00:27:48.520
is on the throne we have just displaced the one who is on the throne we cannot bring in the glory

00:27:48.680 --> 00:27:56.440
on a new cart like the Philistines did in second Samuel 6 3 and the strange thing is the indwelling

00:27:56.440 --> 00:28:02.200
glory the Shekinah that is within us the presence of the risen Christ by the indwelling spirit in

00:28:02.200 --> 00:28:09.800
us as a people is experienced only when divine patterns are followed it is experienced only

00:28:09.800 --> 00:28:20.680
when divine patterns are followed go to Leviticus 9 Leviticus 9 Leviticus 9 verse 6 and verse 23

00:28:20.680 --> 00:28:32.280
Leviticus 9 verse 6 starting at verse 5 they took the things Moses commanded to the front of the

00:28:32.280 --> 00:28:37.400
tent of the meeting and the entire assembly came near and stood before the Lord then Moses said

00:28:37.440 --> 00:28:44.120
this is what the look at the words man this is what the Lord has commanded you to do so that the

00:28:44.120 --> 00:28:49.000
glory of the Lord may appear to you the specific instructions you want the glory of the Lord to

00:28:49.000 --> 00:28:54.320
appear this is what you have been commanded to do and then verse 23 Moses and Aaron then went into

00:28:54.320 --> 00:29:00.040
the tent of meeting when they came out the blessed people and the glory of the Lord appeared to all

00:29:00.040 --> 00:29:04.520
the people fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed the burnt offering and the fat

00:29:04.520 --> 00:29:10.400
potions of the altar and when all the people saw it they shouted for joy and fell face down the

00:29:10.400 --> 00:29:18.440
glory of the Lord enters a place or is experienced by a people in whom he dwells when they follow

00:29:18.440 --> 00:29:28.800
very specific instructions with regard to anything they do please don't think this applies to the

00:29:28.800 --> 00:29:36.600
church or applies to a worship service to to to to to to try and bottle God in a worship service

00:29:36.600 --> 00:29:49.200
is dishonorable this is not real life this is a two-hour activity or an event your participation

00:29:49.200 --> 00:30:03.600
in this two hours does not say anything about you Moses and Solomon knew this both of them knew

00:30:03.600 --> 00:30:11.040
that if you build according to pattern God will validate you see it in Exodus 25 40 where God

00:30:11.040 --> 00:30:16.480
specifically says to Moses Moses make sure that the blueprint I showed you on Sinai is exactly how

00:30:16.480 --> 00:30:23.280
you build in first Chronicles 28 19 Solomon is instructed by David David says listen I got this

00:30:23.280 --> 00:30:27.960
plan from God make sure when you build the temple you build it accurately both of them stuck to the

00:30:27.960 --> 00:30:34.340
pattern and when they stuck to the pattern God validated what they did in Exodus 40 verse 34 the

00:30:34.340 --> 00:30:40.240
glory of God entered the tent of meeting and the priests could not minister hundreds of years later

00:30:40.360 --> 00:30:46.600
the arc has just come into the temple that Solomon built according to blueprint and the glory of God

00:30:46.600 --> 00:30:52.160
comes into the temple and nobody could stand or minister what do you think will happen when

00:30:52.160 --> 00:30:57.080
acts 29 builds according to the patterns of God in different areas what do you think will happen

00:30:57.080 --> 00:31:08.440
God will turn up and flesh will have no part of it and God will show off this is what I desire even

00:31:08.560 --> 00:31:16.080
I'm preaching that I preach with everything I've got that I exhort I rebuke I correct I lift up I

00:31:16.080 --> 00:31:24.480
declare whatever God wants sometimes prophetically sometimes in a way that teaches but at the end of

00:31:24.480 --> 00:31:32.440
the day if I can put everything that I am supposed to in it and step out of the way then the the

00:31:32.440 --> 00:31:37.720
strength and the power and the majesty and the honor and the dazzling brilliance of God will begin

00:31:37.720 --> 00:31:51.800
to affect lives like no orator can you can see why Paul loved the idea of his infirmities we want

00:31:51.800 --> 00:31:56.200
to be sophisticated we want to get all our words correct we want to get the zoom right we're going

00:31:56.200 --> 00:32:00.320
to get the pictures right we want to get the PowerPoint right the presentation has to be

00:32:00.320 --> 00:32:06.120
perfect why because if the presentation is not good enough people may be distracted really you

00:32:06.120 --> 00:32:11.200
think that one day when you have to stand before a PowerPoint and the glory of God which one will

00:32:11.200 --> 00:32:20.880
be more attractive glory or PowerPoint my hope is that we do the best we can with everything that

00:32:20.880 --> 00:32:26.240
is given to us but my God there is someone else in this room someone else in your house someone

00:32:26.240 --> 00:32:33.200
else living within you someone else who wants to connect so radically with you so that through you

00:32:33.200 --> 00:32:42.760
the world is affected by his glory and that does not come with good pronunciation or good garments

00:32:42.760 --> 00:32:49.400
or whatever it doesn't come with that one of the reasons Jesus appeared the way he appeared as

00:32:49.400 --> 00:32:55.080
someone you wouldn't give a second look to as a dry shoot that came out of the ground was because

00:32:55.080 --> 00:33:01.640
God wanted his glory to be the only thing that was seen through his son and not some handsome

00:33:01.640 --> 00:33:07.480
hair-flowing sharp-nosed half white half brown guy walking the streets of Palestine

00:33:07.480 --> 00:33:23.240
he was not worth a second look you can see now why Paul says in 1st Corinthians 1 that

00:33:23.240 --> 00:33:31.320
God uses the foolishness his foolishness to confound the wise of the world so that

00:33:31.320 --> 00:33:58.840
no flesh may boast in his presence begin to revel in the fact that you are a cracked jar of clay

00:33:58.840 --> 00:34:10.520
that you will begin to boast in your infirmities and we will keep changing that we will keep

00:34:10.520 --> 00:34:27.280
getting healed but that the treasure is in the jar of clay and that we'll build according to

00:34:27.280 --> 00:34:38.120
pattern another thing that's necessary for disruptive glory is the fear of God the fear

00:34:38.120 --> 00:34:47.160
of God there must be the fear of a holy God the fear of a holy God precedes glory the fear of a

00:34:47.160 --> 00:34:58.360
holy God precedes glory it's time for us to return to having fear in the actual sense of

00:34:58.360 --> 00:35:09.160
awe and reverence that makes you a little scared fear of a holy God I've often described the fear

00:35:09.160 --> 00:35:17.280
of God in the New Testament as the as the fear of offending the one you love because it grieves

00:35:17.280 --> 00:35:25.480
your heart to offend him and that is absolutely true but now to that definition I want to add

00:35:25.480 --> 00:35:34.680
this idea of awe and reverence where there is something so un-understandable and mysterious

00:35:34.720 --> 00:35:43.000
about God that we don't think of him as buddy Jesus got to make sure that there's sufficient

00:35:43.000 --> 00:35:49.720
awe and reverence and because the fear of God always precedes the glory of God in the Bible

00:35:49.720 --> 00:36:02.160
you go to Genesis 15 17 you go to Exodus 20 18 to 21 you go to first Kings 8 12 and in each of

00:36:02.160 --> 00:36:11.240
those situations where God showed up there was actually a time of darkness or dense clouds or

00:36:11.240 --> 00:36:23.840
an odd deep heaviness or dread that preceded his arrival in fact Solomon says in first Kings 8 12

00:36:23.840 --> 00:36:33.040
the Lord has said that he will dwell in a dark cloud so and so that Paul in Hebrews 12 29 says

00:36:33.040 --> 00:36:40.800
hey listen God is a consuming fire so make sure that there is awe and reverence as you approach

00:36:40.800 --> 00:36:52.200
him even as he shakes things when he came on Mount Sinai the people said could you make sure that

00:36:52.360 --> 00:37:02.400
you go talk to him because this is terrifying in the New Testament whenever God actually showed

00:37:02.400 --> 00:37:13.080
up people had to be lifted off the floor including John who actually walked with Jesus and the words

00:37:13.080 --> 00:37:25.760
that had to be spoken by either an angel or by God was do not be afraid I pray that either

00:37:25.760 --> 00:37:34.760
during the seven days or during this year we will once again know the fear of God so that we have

00:37:34.760 --> 00:37:42.000
an awe and reverence for him and so that the areas where we tolerate what is not to be tolerated

00:37:42.440 --> 00:37:50.360
will no longer be tolerated we are not here to accommodate his glory we're here to absolutely

00:37:50.360 --> 00:38:03.000
surrender to him I've got a word for a person called Susanna who somebody in the church

00:38:03.000 --> 00:38:13.400
mentioned and so here is the word for Susanna Susanna I loosen the vice like grip on your life

00:38:13.400 --> 00:38:23.120
I loosen constraints that tradition and people have put on you I take away the bitten bridle

00:38:23.120 --> 00:38:31.480
I transform you from a I don't even know how to pronounce this word lipizana or it's the kind

00:38:31.520 --> 00:38:37.760
of horse that does these horse shows in Leipzig in Austria I transform you from a lipizana to a

00:38:37.760 --> 00:38:46.080
horse that runs the hills and valleys main flying in the air I turn your chair into a recliner your

00:38:46.080 --> 00:38:53.680
table into a canvas that you can paint on your bed into a hammock I give you Psalm 27 verse 1 from

00:38:53.680 --> 00:39:03.280
the message light space zest that's me God so with me on your side be fearless afraid of no one

00:39:03.280 --> 00:39:13.600
and nothing I want to be a choreographer and return to you the joy of abandon the best way

00:39:13.600 --> 00:39:21.920
I can describe it is if you were to watch the Dubai fountain video just Google it you'll see

00:39:21.960 --> 00:39:29.040
these fountains just set to music choreographed where they just erupt when I made you and this

00:39:29.040 --> 00:39:35.400
was how you were when I made you I made you eruptive it was who you were and you are most

00:39:35.400 --> 00:39:42.320
creative in my hands when you are eruptive come away with me this year and let me teach you once

00:39:42.320 --> 00:39:51.640
again the rhythms of grace that's what someone called Suzanne the next way that guys this thing

00:39:51.640 --> 00:39:56.360
is once we know the fear of God which precedes the glory of God you will find that your worship

00:39:56.360 --> 00:40:02.920
begins to change your worship will begin to change because there is a tendency in most churches and

00:40:02.920 --> 00:40:08.920
especially among the younger believers and so another way of saying that is the young adults

00:40:08.920 --> 00:40:14.960
especially among younger believers or young adults there is a tendency to really be touched

00:40:14.960 --> 00:40:22.680
by or drawn by songs that are written by say hill songs or by Jesus culture and so on nothing wrong

00:40:22.680 --> 00:40:27.480
we sing that here I really like those songs but they are very evocative they're very emotional

00:40:27.480 --> 00:40:33.080
they draw you to the love of God and one of the things that happens once you realize what all

00:40:33.080 --> 00:40:39.480
and reverences is that you begin to enter into an explosive form of worship where his dazzling

00:40:39.480 --> 00:40:49.480
power majesty and presence is far more enamoring than his that than him being the one who loves

00:40:49.480 --> 00:40:55.240
you nothing wrong with that but there is another place in worship that God wants to take us to in

00:40:55.240 --> 00:41:01.400
second Chronicles 7 to when people see how God sends fire from heaven in response to what they

00:41:01.400 --> 00:41:06.040
have done I mean you should read it I love the way some of these scriptures are written second

00:41:06.040 --> 00:41:19.400
Chronicles 7 to when Solomon finished praying fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt

00:41:19.400 --> 00:41:24.280
offering and sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the temple the priests could not enter the

00:41:24.280 --> 00:41:30.240
temple because the glory of the Lord filled it when all verse 3 when all the Israelites saw the

00:41:30.240 --> 00:41:35.040
fire coming down and the glory of the Lord above the temple they knelt on the pavement with their

00:41:35.040 --> 00:41:41.120
faces to the ground and they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord saying he is good and his love

00:41:41.120 --> 00:41:52.480
endures forever guys I long for the day this year when it'll be it won't be possible to stop

00:41:52.800 --> 00:42:02.080
because in bursts and explosive bursts around the church worship will just spontaneously burst

00:42:02.080 --> 00:42:08.720
forth it will be like fountains being open it'll have nothing to do with the worship leader I look

00:42:08.720 --> 00:42:15.200
forward to that day in this church because the awe and the reverence that we will develop and for

00:42:15.200 --> 00:42:21.760
the glory of God that we will see in a completely different way I don't know whether we will see

00:42:21.760 --> 00:42:29.760
the dazzling brilliance of God I've heard of it happen I've never seen it myself I've known the

00:42:29.760 --> 00:42:35.840
presence of God so tangibly that I've leapt off the bed and laid down on the floor weeping

00:42:35.840 --> 00:42:41.360
uncontrollably and scared of his presence but I've never seen some of the things that others have

00:42:41.840 --> 00:42:50.800
seen in present-day Christianity. Like I said the soul hungers after experiences like that but in

00:42:50.800 --> 00:42:56.720
the process may sometimes miss out on the majesty the strength the honor and the power of God in

00:42:56.720 --> 00:43:02.960
chasing after dazzling brilliance and that is when deception can creep in as it has in churches across

00:43:02.960 --> 00:43:05.200
the earth especially in California.

00:43:05.200 --> 00:43:10.800
Where you have to take things with a tinge of is it salt or pepper? Salt.

00:43:11.600 --> 00:43:17.920
Where you have to take things with a tinge of is it salt or pepper? Salt.

00:43:32.480 --> 00:43:40.160
Guys I'm not teaching this so that we learn something or we get some information about

00:43:40.160 --> 00:43:45.760
the glory of God. I'd be so pointless I'm teaching this because this is what God wants to do.

00:43:47.120 --> 00:43:52.320
Do you understand? That's a huge difference man. If I was teaching this because I want you to know

00:43:52.320 --> 00:44:00.000
about glory that's one thing or so we know about glory big deal. I'm teaching this because this is

00:44:00.000 --> 00:44:06.880
what God wants to do in our midst he's giving us instructions so that when it happens we have the

00:44:06.880 --> 00:44:12.480
knowledge base for this to have roots otherwise we don't know what is happening.

00:44:15.840 --> 00:44:19.120
That's when Christopher Columbus lands up in North America and calls

00:44:20.880 --> 00:44:28.000
us Indians. You don't want this is when there's a knowledge base now

00:44:28.720 --> 00:44:35.120
and into that knowledge base that God is now supplying God can plant his glory.

00:44:44.640 --> 00:44:46.160
The next thing that helps us

00:44:48.480 --> 00:44:55.520
embrace disruptive glory is the idea of following presence. Follow his presence because

00:44:55.520 --> 00:45:00.240
we established this earlier on when we were talking about Shekinah that the indwelling

00:45:00.800 --> 00:45:09.440
of the spirit makes us a temple of the indwelling Christ who is the Shekinah glory. Let me repeat

00:45:09.440 --> 00:45:17.200
that again the indwelling of the spirit in us makes us a temple for the indwelling of Christ

00:45:17.760 --> 00:45:21.920
who is the Shekinah or the glory of God.

00:45:26.480 --> 00:45:33.200
So one of the ways we can have the glory of God in our midst become evident to others

00:45:34.480 --> 00:45:37.760
the intent is can we enjoy it and then can others experience it.

00:45:39.280 --> 00:45:45.200
One of the ways is to follow his presence follow follow his presence either through the word or by

00:45:45.200 --> 00:45:51.920
the spirit or through his voice follow his presence because he who follows his presence will find

00:45:51.920 --> 00:45:57.040
glory. He who follows the presence of God will find the glory of God. He who follows the presence

00:45:57.040 --> 00:46:02.240
of God will find the glory of God follow presence, and the glory will be visible over you and through

00:46:02.240 --> 00:46:08.240
you. Follow his presence and the glory of God will be visible through you and will be visible over you

00:46:08.240 --> 00:46:13.040
follow his presence and the glory of God will be visible through you and will be visible over you

00:46:13.040 --> 00:46:17.920
it's it's a cry of my heart this year father can I follow your presence every hour of the day

00:46:17.920 --> 00:46:22.000
so that your glory may be evident through me.

00:46:22.000 --> 00:46:24.880
I mean when you look at Numbers 9,

00:46:24.880 --> 00:46:29.440
I mean we really give Israel

00:46:29.440 --> 00:46:34.640
a bad rap because of the way they weren't able to fulfill certain things.

00:46:34.640 --> 00:46:38.560
But then you should see what Israel was able to fulfill.

00:46:38.560 --> 00:46:43.040
Numbers 9 verse 15 onwards, man imagine this eh?

00:46:43.040 --> 00:46:48.160
Imagine this Numbers 9 verse 15 onwards.

00:46:48.800 --> 00:46:51.920
On the day the tabernacle, the tent of testimony was set up,

00:46:51.920 --> 00:46:56.080
the cloud covered it. From the evening till the morning,

00:46:56.080 --> 00:46:59.840
the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire.

00:46:59.840 --> 00:47:03.920
That is how it continued to be. The cloud covered it and at night

00:47:03.920 --> 00:47:08.400
it looked like fire. Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent,

00:47:08.400 --> 00:47:11.680
the Israelites set out. Whenever the cloud settled,

00:47:11.680 --> 00:47:14.880
the Israelites encamped. At the Lord's command,

00:47:14.880 --> 00:47:18.960
the Israelites set out. At his command, they encamped.

00:47:18.960 --> 00:47:22.640
As long as the cloud stayed over the tabernacle,

00:47:22.640 --> 00:47:27.680
they remained encamped. When the cloud remained over the tabernacle a long time,

00:47:27.680 --> 00:47:30.480
the Israelites obeyed the Lord's order and did not set out.

00:47:30.480 --> 00:47:33.520
Sometimes the cloud was over the tabernacle only a few days.

00:47:33.520 --> 00:47:37.040
At the Lord's command, they would encamp and then at his command they would set out.

00:47:37.040 --> 00:47:41.280
Sometimes the cloud stayed only from evening till morning

00:47:41.280 --> 00:47:44.320
and when it lifted in the morning, they set out.

00:47:44.320 --> 00:47:49.040
Whether by day or by night, whenever the cloud lifted, they set out.

00:47:49.040 --> 00:47:52.480
Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month

00:47:52.480 --> 00:47:55.760
or a year, the Israelites would remain in the camp and not set out.

00:47:55.760 --> 00:47:59.680
But when it lifted, they would set out. At the Lord's command, they encamped

00:47:59.680 --> 00:48:02.720
and at the Lord's command, they set out. They obeyed the Lord's order

00:48:02.720 --> 00:48:06.560
in accordance with his command through Moses. Brilliant, eh?

00:48:06.560 --> 00:48:10.400
What kind of people are these? You're talking about a million people.

00:48:10.480 --> 00:48:16.320
Sometimes they've just put down their tent pegs. It's only six in the evening

00:48:16.320 --> 00:48:21.200
but six a.m in the morning, just when the kids are hitting REM,

00:48:21.200 --> 00:48:24.960
the cloud begins to move and now they all pack up and now they gotta move.

00:48:25.760 --> 00:48:31.120
Man, you could see why the glory of God was ever present with them.

00:48:31.920 --> 00:48:36.960
You could see why Moses knew that if your presence does not go with me,

00:48:36.960 --> 00:48:38.960
do not take me from here. I don't want to go.

00:48:41.600 --> 00:48:44.880
My God, the places we go to without the presence of God.

00:48:53.680 --> 00:48:56.320
A lot of places we go to, we go with prayer, not with presence.

00:48:57.280 --> 00:49:01.760
I want to change that. When the presence goes with you, you pray less.

00:49:02.240 --> 00:49:11.440
In everything, there's nothing that is exempt from his sovereign guardianship and keeping.

00:49:18.720 --> 00:49:23.920
They knew how to follow. They knew how to follow presence.

00:49:23.920 --> 00:49:29.920
In Exodus 13, verse 22, we know that the pillar of cloud used to go before them.

00:49:29.920 --> 00:49:34.960
It says that the pillar of cloud went ahead of them so all of Israel would follow after them.

00:49:34.960 --> 00:49:40.640
But then, once you follow presence, you find glory and the glory of God can be extremely

00:49:41.360 --> 00:49:46.400
protective. It becomes your God. It becomes something that nothing can penetrate.

00:49:47.280 --> 00:49:51.520
Why? Because you're walking now in or under the presence of God.

00:49:51.520 --> 00:49:55.520
So in Exodus 13, verse 22, it says the pillar of cloud went ahead.

00:49:55.520 --> 00:49:58.560
Then in 14, verse 20, it's brilliant what happens.

00:49:58.560 --> 00:50:03.440
In 14, verse 20, it says the pillar of cloud moved from the front to the back.

00:50:05.680 --> 00:50:10.720
Then it says that God looked down from the pillar of cloud and said,

00:50:11.200 --> 00:50:18.560
And then it says that God looked down from the pillar of cloud at the Egyptian army.

00:50:19.760 --> 00:50:23.760
It's, I mean, it's almost like a movie. He looked down at them.

00:50:24.560 --> 00:50:31.040
And then it says later on that after looking down at them, he decided that he would now send a

00:50:31.040 --> 00:50:40.160
little bit of confusion into their ranks. In Exodus 33, 10, it says that the pillar of cloud

00:50:40.160 --> 00:50:44.400
that used to lead them, whenever Moses would go into the tent of meeting, the pillar of cloud

00:50:44.400 --> 00:50:49.600
would come and settle at the entrance of the meeting while Moses was inside and his face would

00:50:49.600 --> 00:50:59.280
glow with the radiance of God. In Exodus 16, verse 10, it says that the pillar of cloud would begin

00:50:59.280 --> 00:51:05.280
to emanate with such brilliance that people would say the glory of God is visible in the cloud.

00:51:10.800 --> 00:51:15.280
So Jacob, does this happen today? We don't have any cloud to follow. True, but we have

00:51:15.280 --> 00:51:22.080
the Shekinah of God dwelling in us, not outside us. It is not a Moses that experiences it.

00:51:22.080 --> 00:51:34.800
It is the Jacobs and the Karunas and the Pawans and the, I'm looking for this guy's handle,

00:51:34.800 --> 00:51:46.800
Kevin's handle. What's the email? What's it? And warblebeasts, all these guys begin to partake in

00:51:46.800 --> 00:51:54.480
this. It's not just a few. And inside you now is the Shekinah. But to know his presence,

00:51:55.280 --> 00:52:00.560
the glory of God becomes a canopy above you. Isaiah chapter 4, verse 4 and 5, the glory of

00:52:00.640 --> 00:52:06.560
God becomes a canopy above you. Isaiah 58, the glory of God becomes your rear guard.

00:52:11.600 --> 00:52:15.360
Isaiah 60, arise and shine for the glory of God has risen upon you.

00:52:21.440 --> 00:52:24.240
Where do you go then, man? Once you start following presence?

00:52:24.240 --> 00:52:29.440
And guess what happens to people who come into contact with you? What do you think happens to

00:52:29.440 --> 00:52:39.280
them? They end up meeting the God in you through the you in God.

00:52:39.520 --> 00:52:42.320
Through the you in God.

00:52:51.920 --> 00:52:55.600
Should we long for a tangible experience? I don't think so because

00:52:58.720 --> 00:53:05.200
we're not a people who live by sight. We are a people who live by faith. Any encounter that

00:53:05.200 --> 00:53:11.360
happens will be an encounter that the Holy Spirit will have to bring out of his own sovereign desire

00:53:11.360 --> 00:53:19.200
and intent. Because in our longing for tangible experiences, we can miss out on the as real

00:53:19.200 --> 00:53:25.920
indwelling practice of God's presence. We can lose it. That's happening to so many churches.

00:53:25.920 --> 00:53:32.400
There are brilliant churches, guys. Churches that are so much better than us. But where one of the

00:53:32.400 --> 00:53:42.160
things that's happened to them is the running after tangible assurances and running after

00:53:42.160 --> 00:53:46.240
what they think is presence. And in the process, so much deception comes in.

00:53:53.120 --> 00:53:58.400
Another thing that happens when glory becomes something we embrace is glory disrupts

00:53:58.400 --> 00:54:05.440
powers and glory disrupts the systems of the world. Glory disrupts powers and glory disrupts

00:54:05.440 --> 00:54:13.120
the systems of the world. Nothing is as frightening to Satan and the satanic kingdom as a people who

00:54:13.120 --> 00:54:21.280
have suddenly come to know what it is to both experience and express the glory of God. Nothing

00:54:21.280 --> 00:54:29.840
is as frightening. See, we must remember one thing. Satan has seen God in his brilliance and his glory.

00:54:33.040 --> 00:54:34.080
And it frightens him.

00:54:36.560 --> 00:54:41.760
He knows what the dazzling brilliance of God is. He was kicked out from there.

00:54:41.760 --> 00:54:50.320
Disruptive glory is the key to the holy war that we are in. Disruptive glory is the key to the holy

00:54:50.320 --> 00:54:57.200
war that we are in. Haggai chapter 2, verse 7 and 8 says, the glory of the latter temple will be

00:54:57.200 --> 00:55:04.640
greater than the former. And know this, I mean, let's read it. Haggai chapter 2, verse 7 and 8.

00:55:05.440 --> 00:55:10.880
I know this. I mean, let's read it. Haggai chapter 2, verse 7 and 8.

00:55:17.280 --> 00:55:24.880
Haggai 2, verse 7 and 8. Starting at 6, this is what the Lord Almighty says, in a little while

00:55:24.880 --> 00:55:28.880
I will once more shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. I will shake all

00:55:28.880 --> 00:55:33.680
the nations and the desire of the nations will come and I will fill this house with glory,

00:55:33.760 --> 00:55:37.920
says the Lord Almighty. The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty.

00:55:37.920 --> 00:55:42.160
The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house, says the Lord

00:55:42.160 --> 00:55:49.280
Almighty. And in this place, I will grant peace, declares the Lord Almighty. As if he didn't want

00:55:49.280 --> 00:55:53.680
us to miss out on the fact that, listen, this is not some ordinary prophet speaking. This is the

00:55:53.680 --> 00:55:59.040
Lord Almighty speaking and he keeps repeating it. And he wants us to know that the temple that he

00:55:59.040 --> 00:56:05.280
is rebuilding, as in us, the church that he's rebuilding, will be furnished by the shaking of

00:56:05.280 --> 00:56:11.360
nations and the shaking of powers. And when nations and powers are shaken, you gather the spoils.

00:56:12.000 --> 00:56:16.560
When nations and powers are shaken, you gather the spoils. That's what he's saying here, guys.

00:56:17.360 --> 00:56:23.840
Isaiah 60, go to Isaiah 60. It's this continuous commentary on what the church is supposed to be.

00:56:23.840 --> 00:56:28.960
Go to Isaiah 60. Listen to it.

00:56:31.600 --> 00:56:35.120
Arise, shine, for your light has come and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See,

00:56:35.120 --> 00:56:39.360
darkness covers the earth. Thick darkness is over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you

00:56:39.360 --> 00:56:43.360
and his glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light and the kings to the brightness of

00:56:43.360 --> 00:56:47.840
your dawn. Lift up your eyes and look. All assemble and come to you. Your sons from far,

00:56:48.240 --> 00:56:54.960
daughters carried on their arms. Go to verse five. Then you will look and be radiant. Your heart will

00:56:54.960 --> 00:56:58.960
throb and swell with joy. The wealth on the seas will be brought to you. The riches of the nations

00:56:58.960 --> 00:57:04.800
will come to you. Herds of camels will cover your land. All from Sheba will come bearing gold and

00:57:04.800 --> 00:57:11.200
incense. Kedar flocks will be gathered to you. The rams of Nebiyot. Who are these that... It just

00:57:11.200 --> 00:57:16.000
goes on. Foreigners will... Verse 10, foreigners will rebuild your walls. Your gates will always

00:57:16.080 --> 00:57:20.400
stand open. They'll never shut day or night. That men may bring you the wealth of the nations

00:57:20.400 --> 00:57:24.960
the kings led in triumphal procession. For the nation of the kingdom that will not serve you

00:57:24.960 --> 00:57:29.840
will perish. It'll be utterly ruined. What is God saying here? As I begin to build my kingdom and

00:57:29.840 --> 00:57:38.160
church, as I begin to build my temple, the temple will be furnished by the wealth of nations.

00:57:39.280 --> 00:57:43.360
What do you mean by temple will be furnished by wealth of nations? It'd be easy to say,

00:57:43.360 --> 00:57:49.840
oh by souls. But unfortunately as noble as that sounds, Hague chapter 2, 7 says,

00:57:49.840 --> 00:57:54.800
the silver is mine and the gold is mine. He actually means three things. One, he means

00:57:54.800 --> 00:58:00.320
the wealth of the nations as in real wealth. Two, he means silver and gold. Three, he means souls.

00:58:00.320 --> 00:58:08.560
It's all three. It's not one or the other. Know that once disruptive glory becomes part of the

00:58:08.560 --> 00:58:13.040
equation of a church, there is a gathering of spoils. One of the coolest stories in the Bible

00:58:13.040 --> 00:58:19.120
is 1 Samuel chapter 5 where Philistines capture the ark and they take it into the temple of Dagon.

00:58:19.680 --> 00:58:26.160
And they set it up in the temple of Dagon and 1 Samuel 5 verse 4 says, and Dagon fell on his face

00:58:26.160 --> 00:58:31.200
and he was broken in many pieces and they could not put Humpty Dumpty back together again. And so

00:58:31.200 --> 00:58:36.480
what do they do? They got to get rid of the ark. How do they get rid of the ark? You go to 1 Samuel

00:58:36.480 --> 00:58:44.880
6 verse 5 and they realize that to send back the ark by itself won't do. So they make gold tumors

00:58:44.880 --> 00:58:52.400
and gold mice to send as a gift to appease Yahweh. Whenever there is

00:58:55.200 --> 00:59:00.000
disruptive glory that goes into spiritual warfare, there are always spoils.

00:59:00.000 --> 00:59:06.000
So let me read that again. We can explore it later. Disruptive glory is the key to the holy war we are in.

00:59:06.000 --> 00:59:12.000
The temple will be rebuilt and furnished by the shaking of nations and by the shaking of evil powers.

00:59:12.000 --> 00:59:18.000
And there will be a gathering of spoils. What are the spoils? The spoils are the wealth of the nations.

00:59:18.000 --> 00:59:24.000
Isaiah 60 verse 5. The spoils are silver and gold. Haggai chapter 2 verse 8. The spoils are the souls of men.

00:59:24.000 --> 00:59:28.000
Isaiah 43 verse 6 and 7. The spoils are the wealth of the nations. Isaiah 60 verse 5. The spoils are the wealth of the nations.

00:59:28.000 --> 00:59:32.000
Isaiah 43 verse 6 and 7.

00:59:32.000 --> 00:59:40.000
See the problem with the prosperity gospel is it gets satiated with the spoils that are wealth and money

00:59:40.000 --> 00:59:46.000
and it loses its hunger for the souls of men. That's what happens with the prosperity gospel.

00:59:46.000 --> 00:59:54.000
The prosperity gospel begins to run after the first category, the wealth of the nations and forgets the souls of men.

00:59:54.000 --> 01:00:00.000
Unlike Abraham who says to the king of Sodom, you can keep all the wealth. I don't want to touch it.

01:00:00.000 --> 01:00:08.000
But at the same time guys, don't be cynical of wealth because cynicism severs me from divine experiences.

01:00:08.000 --> 01:00:16.000
Whatever you're cynical about, whatever you despise, you will not possess.

01:00:16.000 --> 01:00:26.000
I cannot be cynical about wealth because cynicism in the kingdom always severs me from divine experiences.

01:00:26.000 --> 01:00:36.000
Whatever you despise, you will not possess. Even if it comes your way.

01:00:36.000 --> 01:00:42.000
It's like that story where you will see it but you will not eat it.

01:00:42.000 --> 01:00:54.000
Why stop here and talk so much about this? Because I really believe based on what was spoken on Christmas Eve that

01:00:54.000 --> 01:01:04.000
just like poverty can be endemic in some churches, plenty also can be endemic in some churches.

01:01:04.000 --> 01:01:14.000
Plenty also can be released to churches so that churches in turn can be conduits that can release it further.

01:01:14.000 --> 01:01:22.000
Expect it. Expect it.

01:01:22.000 --> 01:01:26.000
Ah, I wish you were here so that someone would whisper an amen.

01:01:26.000 --> 01:01:36.000
I'm sure all of you are saying amen here in this room but those masks of yours don't allow me to see what you're mouthing.

01:01:36.000 --> 01:01:52.000
Last point. Man, we might finish so early that we won't even be able to fulfill Derek's prayer to finish in two and a half hours.

01:01:52.000 --> 01:01:56.000
Don't worry, we'll find something to do.

01:01:56.000 --> 01:02:06.000
Guys, glory begins where flesh ends. Glory begins where flesh ends.

01:02:06.000 --> 01:02:18.000
If you go to Exodus 40, verse 34, let's read these scriptures together. Exodus 40, verse 34.

01:02:18.000 --> 01:02:30.000
Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

01:02:30.000 --> 01:02:38.000
Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled upon it and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.

01:02:38.000 --> 01:02:46.000
Go to 2 Chronicles 5, 13. 2 Chronicles 5, 13.

01:02:46.000 --> 01:02:54.000
2 Chronicles 5, 13.

01:02:54.000 --> 01:02:59.000
Starting at verse 11. The priests then withdrew from the holy place.

01:02:59.000 --> 01:03:05.000
All the priests who were there had consecrated themselves regardless of the divisions.

01:03:05.000 --> 01:03:17.000
All the Levites who were musicians, Asaph, Heman, and Jadetun, and their sons and relatives stood on the east side of the altar dressed in fine linen and playing cymbals and harps and lyres.

01:03:17.000 --> 01:03:21.000
They were accompanied by 120 priests sounding trumpets.

01:03:21.000 --> 01:03:27.000
The trumpeters and singers joined in unison as with one voice to give praise and thanks to the Lord.

01:03:27.000 --> 01:03:33.000
Accompanied by the trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments, they raised their voice and praised to the Lord and sang,

01:03:33.000 --> 01:03:36.000
He is good and His love endures forever.

01:03:36.000 --> 01:03:43.000
Then the temple of the Lord was filled with a cloud and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud.

01:03:43.000 --> 01:03:46.000
For the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

01:03:46.000 --> 01:03:53.000
Go to 2 Chronicles 7, verse 3.

01:03:53.000 --> 01:04:00.000
This is shortly before Solomon prays and then after Solomon prays it happens again.

01:04:00.000 --> 01:04:05.000
So this was twice in a matter of hours.

01:04:05.000 --> 01:04:13.000
When Solomon finished praying, fire came down from heaven and consumed the burnt offering and sacrifices and the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

01:04:13.000 --> 01:04:18.000
The priests could not enter the temple of the Lord because of the glory of the Lord filled it.

01:04:18.000 --> 01:04:21.000
When all Israelites...

01:04:21.000 --> 01:04:24.000
Now go to Revelation 15, verse 13.

01:04:24.000 --> 01:04:32.000
Revelation 15, verse 13.

01:04:32.000 --> 01:04:42.000
Revelation 15, not 15, 13, must be 15...

01:04:42.000 --> 01:04:46.000
Yeah, 15, 8. Revelation 15, 8.

01:04:46.000 --> 01:04:48.000
Let's start at 7.

01:04:48.000 --> 01:04:54.000
Then one of the four living creatures gave to the seven angels seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God who lives forever and ever.

01:04:54.000 --> 01:04:59.000
And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God and from His power.

01:04:59.000 --> 01:05:04.000
And no one could enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven angels was completed.

01:05:04.000 --> 01:05:09.000
At the end of the day, glory begins when flesh ends.

01:05:09.000 --> 01:05:22.000
Neither Moses nor the priests nor the angels nor the elders could stand before God or perform their service to God once the glory of God came into a place.

01:05:22.000 --> 01:05:25.000
What does it look like in the New Testament, man?

01:05:25.000 --> 01:05:30.000
In today's world, what does it look like?

01:05:30.000 --> 01:05:37.000
What will it be like when people are no longer interested in accommodating God's splendor,

01:05:37.000 --> 01:05:45.000
but they're only interested in just abjectly surrendering foolishly, helplessly to the glory of God,

01:05:45.000 --> 01:05:54.000
which is not coming from the outside in, but is bursting forth from the inside out.

01:05:54.000 --> 01:05:58.000
Because He now... Shekayana, remember the definition of Shekayana?

01:05:58.000 --> 01:06:10.000
Shekayana is the one who dwells and the one who dwells in a tabernacle, the one who dwells in a tabernacle called his people.

01:06:10.000 --> 01:06:15.000
What will it look like, guys?

01:06:15.000 --> 01:06:26.000
I don't want an anecdotal experience that we will write down in a journal and keep for the next 40 years telling our children, oh, when daddy was young.

01:06:26.000 --> 01:06:33.000
No, come on, man. That is so not what we're looking for.

01:06:33.000 --> 01:06:40.000
It has to be something that our people experience because their God is 24-7.

01:06:40.000 --> 01:06:45.000
Come on, Acts 29. This is our moment from God.

01:06:45.000 --> 01:06:50.000
This is not something that we are pining for or having to climb a mountain for.

01:06:50.000 --> 01:06:54.000
This is the God who claimed down the mountain and He's saying, hey, this is what I want to do with you.

01:06:54.000 --> 01:06:57.000
You ready? Remember what I said.

01:06:57.000 --> 01:07:02.000
I'm teaching this not because we want to find out or want information on this.

01:07:02.000 --> 01:07:14.000
I'm teaching this because this is what God wants to do.

01:07:14.000 --> 01:07:19.000
When the glory of God begins to become evident amongst the people,

01:07:19.000 --> 01:07:25.000
then the people begin to work the works of another because they begin to live the life of another.

01:07:25.000 --> 01:07:33.000
When the glory of God becomes evident amongst the people, because to begin with, it is indwelling.

01:07:33.000 --> 01:07:38.000
The word became flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory.

01:07:38.000 --> 01:07:43.000
The difference is now others will behold his glory because he dwells amongst us.

01:07:43.000 --> 01:07:47.000
And they will know that he is one who is full of truth and grace.

01:07:47.000 --> 01:07:51.000
And you think it won't affect them.

01:07:51.000 --> 01:07:55.000
We will not be able to perform our service the way we want to.

01:07:55.000 --> 01:08:03.000
Jacob may not get to preach for an hour. Can you believe how difficult that will be?

01:08:03.000 --> 01:08:12.000
I was shocked when I found out that on December, two Sundays ago, I preached for 89 minutes.

01:08:13.000 --> 01:08:17.000
I just wondered why I didn't go 90.

01:08:17.000 --> 01:08:21.000
That's just on the side. Really bad joke. Really bad.

01:08:21.000 --> 01:08:25.000
I told myself I wouldn't do this in 2021.

01:08:25.000 --> 01:08:27.000
You know what happens in New Year resolutions.

01:08:27.000 --> 01:08:30.000
So back to what we are saying, which is more important.

01:08:30.000 --> 01:08:36.000
Guys, the thing with the glory of God being evident amongst the people is one,

01:08:36.000 --> 01:08:42.000
you begin to work the works of another without even effort.

01:08:42.000 --> 01:08:46.000
The works of another begin to express because you are living the life of another.

01:08:46.000 --> 01:08:50.000
Someone else's life is what we begin to live.

01:08:50.000 --> 01:08:55.000
And therefore, someone else's works is what happens in our midst and to others.

01:08:55.000 --> 01:09:01.000
John 6, 63 comes out so alive and fresh that the flesh profits nothing.

01:09:01.000 --> 01:09:03.000
The spirit gives life because at the end of the day,

01:09:03.000 --> 01:09:09.000
it is the indwelling spirit who brings the Shekinah or the indwelling Christ in our midst.

01:09:09.000 --> 01:09:15.000
The flesh profits nothing. Glory begins when flesh ends.

01:09:15.000 --> 01:09:21.000
I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to it because in a sense, guys, it's very freeing.

01:09:21.000 --> 01:09:28.000
It is very freeing that Jacob does not have to worry about Jacob or how Jacob will appear

01:09:28.000 --> 01:09:33.000
or what people will think of Jacob or what Jacob thinks of Jacob.

01:09:33.000 --> 01:09:37.000
It doesn't matter anymore because he's beginning to step out of the way

01:09:37.000 --> 01:09:45.000
and as he begins to step out of the way, God, your God, this amazing, amazing God becomes more and more evident.

01:09:45.000 --> 01:09:50.000
And what do you want more than that? What do I want more than that?

01:09:50.000 --> 01:09:52.000
What does Acts 29 want more than that?

01:09:52.000 --> 01:09:57.000
Isn't that the only reason you exist? To pour out God by pouring out your life.

01:09:57.000 --> 01:10:02.000
Is there any other reason we're meeting together?

01:10:02.000 --> 01:10:05.000
Or we're being together, not meeting together?

01:10:05.000 --> 01:10:09.000
This is what we live for, guys.

01:10:09.000 --> 01:10:14.000
Glory begins when flesh ends and it is transformative. It is transformative.

01:10:14.000 --> 01:10:23.000
John chapter 2 verse 11 says, and this is how God first, this is how Jesus first revealed His glory.

01:10:23.000 --> 01:10:27.000
What was the way He revealed His glory? He did something transformational.

01:10:27.000 --> 01:10:33.000
At the wedding in Cana, He turned water into wine.

01:10:33.000 --> 01:10:35.000
It transforms things.

01:10:35.000 --> 01:10:43.000
Second Corinthians 3, 18 says about the same thing, that as we behold His glory, we get changed.

01:10:43.000 --> 01:10:50.000
We get changed. There's something about people beholding the glory of God through you that begins to change them.

01:10:50.000 --> 01:10:55.000
There's something about a church that understands that Shekinah is present because Christ is present.

01:10:55.000 --> 01:10:58.000
And we have no desire to accommodate you in our service.

01:10:58.000 --> 01:11:02.000
We just have this desire to be foolish and surrender to you.

01:11:02.000 --> 01:11:08.000
So have your own way, God, have your own way.

01:11:08.000 --> 01:11:11.000
You are the potter, I am the clay.

01:11:11.000 --> 01:11:14.000
Make me and mold me after your will.

01:11:14.000 --> 01:11:19.000
While I am waiting, always, every day, every hour, yielded and still.

01:11:19.000 --> 01:11:22.000
I got no desire to accommodate you.

01:11:22.000 --> 01:11:28.000
I just want to surrender foolishly, Lord.

01:11:28.000 --> 01:11:33.000
Dude, the audacity that we have to think that we can accommodate the glory of God.

01:11:33.000 --> 01:11:38.000
What are we talking about? The splendor, the strength, the honor, the majesty and the dazzling brilliance of God?

01:11:38.000 --> 01:11:42.000
Oh, we'll give you a little corner? Really?

01:11:50.000 --> 01:11:52.000
What do you know? I'm done.

01:11:59.000 --> 01:12:01.000
What do we do now, guys?

01:12:04.000 --> 01:12:06.000
So here's what I'm thinking, huh, guys?

01:12:06.000 --> 01:12:11.000
And I'll let you know for sure by tonight or tomorrow afternoon, hopefully.

01:12:11.000 --> 01:12:16.000
I'm thinking that we've done this once in the past, ages ago,

01:12:16.000 --> 01:12:21.000
when we used to meet at South Hall on Ross Street.

01:12:21.000 --> 01:12:26.000
Here's what I'm thinking, that either starting Tuesday or Wednesday,

01:12:26.000 --> 01:12:30.000
and I know you guys have house church too, and so we'll work that out, I don't know how,

01:12:30.000 --> 01:12:36.000
I'm thinking that for seven nights in a row,

01:12:39.000 --> 01:12:43.000
and this doesn't mean that there'll be worship every night or stuff like that,

01:12:43.000 --> 01:12:48.000
for seven nights in a row, we will surrender to

01:12:49.000 --> 01:12:55.000
and invite into our presence, make way

01:12:56.000 --> 01:13:01.000
for the glory of God so that he can disrupt and transform lives.

01:13:02.000 --> 01:13:04.000
Start the year off that way.

01:13:04.000 --> 01:13:08.000
Some churches do a 21-day fast,

01:13:09.000 --> 01:13:12.000
some churches have a reading plan,

01:13:13.000 --> 01:13:18.000
I just feel that this is something God wants to do in our midst.

01:13:20.000 --> 01:13:28.000
So just be aware of it, so you'll get, like you used to get links every mishmash,

01:13:29.000 --> 01:13:32.000
you'll get links for, what shall we call it?

01:13:32.000 --> 01:13:36.000
There's a church that I know in Bristol that used to call it Ten Days of Glory.

01:13:37.000 --> 01:13:41.000
Sounds a little corny, but we might have to go Seven Days of Glory or something.

01:13:41.000 --> 01:13:44.000
The name doesn't matter, the point is that

01:13:46.000 --> 01:13:49.000
I think that's something God would like to do in our midst,

01:13:49.000 --> 01:13:53.000
and it won't be like a service, that's not what he's after.

01:13:59.000 --> 01:14:05.000
So let's just be quiet for a moment and see if God wants something else done,

01:14:05.000 --> 01:14:07.000
otherwise we can call it a day.

01:14:42.000 --> 01:14:44.000
Hey guys, so

01:14:50.000 --> 01:14:52.000
so we're going to put up this song,

01:14:54.000 --> 01:14:59.000
but the way you sing it is not as a song of worship, but as a prayer.

01:15:01.000 --> 01:15:05.000
And it's that song that says, Oh the glory of your presence, be your children,

01:15:05.000 --> 01:15:09.000
give you reverence, arise from your rest,

01:15:09.000 --> 01:15:14.000
and be blessed with our praise as we worship in your embrace,

01:15:14.000 --> 01:15:17.000
as your glory now fills this place.

01:15:18.000 --> 01:15:22.000
Yeah? Could you pray it for us?

01:15:23.000 --> 01:15:25.000
Could you pray it for us?

01:15:25.000 --> 01:15:27.000
Don't pray it for yourself,

01:15:27.000 --> 01:15:30.000
don't sing it as a worship song, sing it as a song of prayer.

01:15:31.000 --> 01:15:33.000
Could you with all your heart

01:15:36.000 --> 01:15:38.000
pray it for us?

01:15:39.000 --> 01:15:42.000
So that we may leave a legacy here on earth.

01:15:47.000 --> 01:15:48.000
Yeah?
