Conspiring with the Spirit. 00:00:22.000 --> 00:00:30.000 And today we'll talk about conspiring with the Spirit in Heaven. Tomorrow we'll talk about how to conspire with the Spirit here on Earth. 00:00:30.000 --> 00:00:35.000 So today we'll talk about conspiring with the Spirit in Heaven. 00:00:36.000 --> 00:00:38.000 Yeah. 00:00:38.000 --> 00:00:57.000 One way to define a revival is to define it as the overflow of the life of the Holy Spirit. 00:00:57.000 --> 00:01:19.000 Overflow of the life of the Holy Spirit in you, then through you into the radius of your expanding influence. 00:01:19.000 --> 00:01:27.000 That's one way to define a revival. 00:01:27.000 --> 00:01:43.000 That a revival can be defined as the overflow of the life of the Holy Spirit, first in me and then through me into the radius of my influence. 00:01:43.000 --> 00:01:50.000 I felt strongly that we should learn how to conspire with the Spirit of God. 00:01:50.000 --> 00:01:57.000 And it operates on two levels. Conspire with Him in Heaven and conspire with Him on Earth. 00:01:57.000 --> 00:02:05.000 And there's something sneaky about conspiring with the Holy Spirit. But it's a good sneaky. 00:02:05.000 --> 00:02:13.000 It's like if you were planning something for the 17th of July and you weren't telling me, that would be a good sneaky. 00:02:13.000 --> 00:02:18.000 Right? So you've got to look at it as something positive. 00:02:18.000 --> 00:02:27.000 So I want to explore this and you'll be surprised. If you hear it correctly, it'll really help us. 00:02:27.000 --> 00:02:37.000 And if you don't hear it correctly, it'll almost feel like we are saying things about the Holy Spirit that we shouldn't be saying. 00:02:37.000 --> 00:02:41.000 So please hear it correctly. Let me just pray. 00:02:41.000 --> 00:02:56.000 Father, what I believe you want us to know about the Holy Spirit is something that we might find hard to wrap our hearts and minds around. 00:02:56.000 --> 00:03:02.000 Because we are so used to the traditional understanding of the Holy Spirit. 00:03:02.000 --> 00:03:08.000 He's almost like the fourth tenor. Or in your case, the third tenor. 00:03:08.000 --> 00:03:14.000 Where there's you, Father, and there's the Son. And it's almost like then there's the Holy Spirit. 00:03:14.000 --> 00:03:17.000 He almost loses personhood. 00:03:17.000 --> 00:03:29.000 Because we have such a traditional understanding of anything that has spirit attached to it that sometimes we don't understand the personhood of the Spirit of God. 00:03:29.000 --> 00:03:38.000 Strangely enough, Holy Spirit, I'm coming to you and asking that you would help us understand you. 00:03:38.000 --> 00:03:46.000 So that we can conspire with you for the things in heaven. 00:03:46.000 --> 00:03:51.000 And then tomorrow we can talk about how to conspire with you for the things on earth. 00:03:52.000 --> 00:04:03.000 So the reason I'm praying is so that you would open our understanding, open our hearts, open our eyes to grasp the few things that you want to tell us today. 00:04:03.000 --> 00:04:10.000 Only you can make it happen where it settles inside, where it becomes practical and it's not just knowledge. 00:04:10.000 --> 00:04:12.000 In Jesus' name, Amen. 00:04:21.000 --> 00:04:29.000 So let me start with Romans 8 verse 11. 00:04:29.000 --> 00:04:36.000 Romans chapter 8 verse 11. And it goes something like this. If I were to summarize it, it goes like this. 00:04:36.000 --> 00:04:44.000 And this is why it is important that we begin to embrace the Holy Spirit in perhaps a way we have not yet or I haven't yet. 00:04:44.000 --> 00:04:50.000 Romans 8 verse 11. And if you put all the different translations together, this is what it would say. 00:04:50.000 --> 00:05:11.000 Since the alive and present Spirit, since the alive and present Spirit, since the alive and present Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead, who raised Jesus from the dead, 00:05:11.000 --> 00:05:31.000 now lives, moves and breathes in you, these are the things that should happen. 00:05:31.000 --> 00:05:38.000 Since the alive and present Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead surely lives and moves and breathes in you. 00:05:38.000 --> 00:05:50.000 One, I must experience life on God's terms. 00:05:50.000 --> 00:05:54.000 I must experience life on God's terms. 00:05:54.000 --> 00:06:23.000 Even, I must experience life on God's terms, even as I live in a body, even as I live in a body that experiences the limitations of the fall, experiences the limitations of the fall. 00:06:23.000 --> 00:06:43.000 I think we should press into this. I'm so glad that, God willing, I have years left on Earth to kind of figure out all this, to learn to live it here on Earth before I die and go to Heaven. 00:06:43.000 --> 00:06:51.000 I'm looking forward to what it would mean to experience life on God's terms. Jesus did this. He was in a limited body here on Earth. 00:06:51.000 --> 00:06:58.000 No, don't turn the AC off. On. Just leave it off. 00:06:58.000 --> 00:07:04.000 To experience life on God's terms, and that is to begin to live like Jesus in a physical body. 00:07:04.000 --> 00:07:14.000 Sure, his body couldn't die, his body couldn't be diseased. He had a body that was not subject to the curse because he wasn't born through Adam's line. 00:07:14.000 --> 00:07:23.000 But at the same time, what does it mean to experience life on God's terms, even though I live in a body that experiences the limitations of the fall? 00:07:23.000 --> 00:07:40.000 What would it mean to think like Jesus, hear like Jesus, walk like Jesus, not take offense like Jesus? 00:07:40.000 --> 00:07:47.000 We translated like Philip. 00:07:47.000 --> 00:07:51.000 Cast out demons. 00:07:51.000 --> 00:07:55.000 Be fully submitted to the Holy Spirit. 00:07:55.000 --> 00:07:58.000 Be full of the Holy Spirit. 00:07:58.000 --> 00:08:01.000 Heal the sick. 00:08:01.000 --> 00:08:05.000 Cause withered hands to straighten out and be whole. 00:08:05.000 --> 00:08:08.000 The lame to walk. 00:08:08.000 --> 00:08:11.000 Helping the widow whose son died. 00:08:11.000 --> 00:08:25.000 Helping my friends whose brother died. 00:08:25.000 --> 00:08:30.000 What would it be to live on God's terms here on Earth? 00:08:30.000 --> 00:08:35.000 What would it be to be an Enoch? 00:08:35.000 --> 00:08:41.000 An Elisha, an Elijah, a Paul, a Peter. 00:08:41.000 --> 00:08:44.000 What would it be to live an unprecedented life? 00:08:44.000 --> 00:08:58.000 All because the alive and present resurrection Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead 00:08:58.000 --> 00:09:08.000 is surely living, moving and breathing in me at this present moment. 00:09:08.000 --> 00:09:22.000 I long to live an unprecedented life not for my sake, but for the sake of Tate, for the sake of Phoebe, for the sake of Sheldon, for the sake of Derek, 00:09:22.000 --> 00:09:27.000 for the sake of those that are yet to come. 00:09:27.000 --> 00:09:35.000 To completely change the way people see, taste, feel, understand Christ. 00:09:35.000 --> 00:09:42.000 And this is something that God is asking this body to become, to step into, to exhibit. 00:09:42.000 --> 00:09:44.000 Embrace it. 00:09:44.000 --> 00:09:55.000 That's part of the revival that God wants to bring in us and then affect the globe. 00:09:55.000 --> 00:10:24.000 Secondly, His being alive and present in me allows me to be aligned with the heart of the Father and the mind of the Son. 00:10:25.000 --> 00:10:37.000 The alive and present Spirit of God who lives in this body that today has limitations of the fall imposed upon it, 00:10:37.000 --> 00:10:43.000 that may be true, but I get to come into complete alignment, complete alignment. 00:10:43.000 --> 00:10:50.000 There are moments in our lives, there are moments in my life where I'm in complete alignment with the heart of the Father and the mind of the Son. 00:10:50.000 --> 00:10:55.000 They are fleeting moments perhaps, but at this age, after being a Christian for 30, 32 years, 00:10:55.000 --> 00:11:04.000 yeah, there are moments when I'm completely aligned with the heart of the Father and the mind of Jesus Christ. 00:11:04.000 --> 00:11:13.000 That should be expected of us, right? 00:11:13.000 --> 00:11:29.000 And thirdly, His being, the Holy Spirit's being alive and present in me, now makes me, even though my body is going to die, 00:11:29.000 --> 00:11:39.000 even though my body is going to die, even though my body is going to die. 00:11:39.000 --> 00:11:47.000 Hey guys, only Christians can even frame a sentence like that, that even though my body is going to die, 00:11:47.000 --> 00:11:54.000 because I ain't going to die, I've got eternal life. 00:11:54.000 --> 00:12:01.000 Only Christians can frame a sentence like that, even though my body is going to die. 00:12:01.000 --> 00:12:29.000 Even though my body is going to die, in this body, I am made as alive and active as Christ, as Christ. 00:12:29.000 --> 00:12:39.000 This is an expectation I have when I'm tired, when I'm exhausted, when I've worked hard, when I'm spent physically, emotionally, spiritually. 00:12:39.000 --> 00:12:47.000 This is an expectation that I have, that my mortal body can instantly be quickened by the Holy Spirit, 00:12:47.000 --> 00:12:57.000 because it's one of His specialities, He begins to bring to great life and activity that which is spent. 00:12:57.000 --> 00:13:06.000 And so even though this body is dying and I occupy this body presently, my body can be made alive and active as Christ. 00:13:06.000 --> 00:13:15.000 This is a summation of Romans 8-11, if you draw it from different versions like the NLT, the Message, the NIV, the NIRV, the ESV, the TPT. 00:13:15.000 --> 00:13:18.000 If you draw it all together, you would still get this. 00:13:18.000 --> 00:13:26.000 So I'm not adding anything to it, I'm just taking different phrases from all these translations and putting them together for you. 00:13:26.000 --> 00:13:41.000 Why are we talking about this? Because we want to conspire with the Holy Spirit, who is the one we are talking about right now. 00:13:41.000 --> 00:13:47.000 Let's go back to what I said earlier. How do I live my life on God's terms? 00:13:47.000 --> 00:13:58.000 How do I experience life on God's terms even though I live in a body that experiences the limitations of the fall? How do I do that? 00:13:58.000 --> 00:14:08.000 How do I wrap my mind around the riches of God? Jesus wrapped His mind around the riches of God and by riches He didn't mean wealth. 00:14:08.000 --> 00:14:17.000 He meant the riches of the splendor, the glory, the weight, the magnificence, the power, the laughter, the goodness of God. 00:14:17.000 --> 00:14:23.000 Jesus wraps His head around that. How do I wrap my mind around the riches of God? 00:14:23.000 --> 00:14:36.000 These are ways we live a life that experiences life on God's terms. How can I wrap my mind around the riches of God? 00:14:36.000 --> 00:14:49.000 I made this statement a while ago, maybe on Wednesday or Thursday. What I have in my hand from God is not what I have in God. 00:14:49.000 --> 00:14:56.000 What I have in my hand from God is not what I have in God. 00:14:56.000 --> 00:15:07.000 We look at what God has given us and we are grateful for it, but we think to ourselves, this is what I have in my hand from God. 00:15:07.000 --> 00:15:18.000 But what you have in your hand from God is really not what you have in God. Even if I were to take this object that I just picked up, the Bible. 00:15:18.000 --> 00:15:35.000 What I have in my hand is from God, but this is not what I have in God. This is 66 books, a very limited version of an eternal, invisible, immortal, everlasting, infinite God. 00:15:35.000 --> 00:15:51.000 The same with money, the same with anything you take. And the day we are able to grasp that will be the day that we will be unafraid in the area that we grasp it. 00:15:51.000 --> 00:16:05.000 Selah. How do I plumb the depths of his wisdom? Living life on God's terms requires the ability to fathom his wisdom. 00:16:05.000 --> 00:16:11.000 How do I plumb the depths of his wisdom? How do I wrap my mind around the riches of God? 00:16:11.000 --> 00:16:17.000 Don't you need wisdom? Don't you need wisdom with your children? Don't you need wisdom at work? Don't you need wisdom with money? 00:16:17.000 --> 00:16:23.000 Don't you need wisdom when you just speak to someone? Don't you need wisdom for simple decisions? 00:16:23.000 --> 00:16:31.000 Don't you find that one of our greatest struggles, trying to get things right, do things correctly, lacking wisdom? 00:16:31.000 --> 00:16:39.000 How do I plumb the depth of his wisdom? How do I wrap my mind around the riches of God? How do I participate in the wonder of his decisions? 00:16:39.000 --> 00:16:46.000 How do I participate? How do I engage and then actually participate in the wonder of his decisions? 00:16:46.000 --> 00:16:57.000 Some of the decisions that I've made with God are so wondrous that I don't even touch it in terms of wanting to take credit because I know it would be foolish. 00:16:57.000 --> 00:17:02.000 It would be like saying, I ran a marathon. Not possible. 00:17:02.000 --> 00:17:07.000 Why? I ran a half marathon. Not possible. 00:17:07.000 --> 00:17:16.000 How do I participate in the wonder of his decisions? How do I search out his mysterious plans? How do I search out his mysterious plans? 00:17:16.000 --> 00:17:22.000 To live life on God's terms is to search out his mysterious plans and then work with him on it. 00:17:22.000 --> 00:17:27.000 To live life on God's terms. This is living life on God's terms. 00:17:28.000 --> 00:17:33.000 You see why the church is unattractive, why Christianity is unattractive. 00:17:33.000 --> 00:17:40.000 If we live a life that does not plumb the depth of his wisdom, if we live a life that doesn't wrap our minds around the riches of God, 00:17:40.000 --> 00:17:44.000 if we live a life that does not know how to participate in decision making with him, 00:17:44.000 --> 00:17:49.000 and if we live a life that does not search out his mysterious plans and then work with him on it, 00:17:49.000 --> 00:17:54.000 then we cannot live life on God's terms. 00:17:54.000 --> 00:17:59.000 Where am I getting all this from? This is from Romans 11.33, almost word for word from the passion translation. 00:17:59.000 --> 00:18:04.000 These are not my questions. 00:18:04.000 --> 00:18:08.000 One of the things we perhaps don't realize and we sometimes think, 00:18:08.000 --> 00:18:17.000 Oh God brought me to this new level or God took me on this journey of faith or God showed me the way to the world. 00:18:17.000 --> 00:18:19.000 We don't realize that. 00:18:19.000 --> 00:18:21.000 We don't realize that. 00:18:21.000 --> 00:18:23.000 We don't realize that. 00:18:23.000 --> 00:18:25.000 We don't realize that. 00:18:25.000 --> 00:18:27.000 We don't realize that. 00:18:27.000 --> 00:18:29.000 We don't realize that. 00:18:29.000 --> 00:18:31.000 We don't realize that. 00:18:31.000 --> 00:18:38.000 We don monter first level or God took me on this journey of faith or God shared this wonderful secret with me. 00:18:38.000 --> 00:18:41.000 We think, Okay, now I've got to wait another six months for this. 00:18:41.000 --> 00:18:51.000 I'm saying to you that God is trying to talk you into something or the other every day. 00:18:51.000 --> 00:18:55.000 God is trying to talk you into something or the other every day. 00:18:55.000 --> 00:19:02.160 Man, with Saturday and Sunday now there's two teachings. I'm going to say through the Holy Spirit or through the person of the Holy Spirit. 00:20:21.020 --> 00:20:25.020 He is the Father Spirit. He is called the Spirit of Christ. 00:20:25.020 --> 00:20:30.020 But today I'm going to refer to him as the person of the Holy Spirit, of the Holy Spirit, 00:20:30.020 --> 00:20:40.020 simply because we have to, over today and tomorrow, see him as a separate person who we can conspire with in heaven and on earth. 00:20:42.020 --> 00:20:45.020 God reveals these things to me by his Spirit. 00:20:45.020 --> 00:20:50.020 1 Corinthians 2, 9-16. I read this verse many times when talking about hearing God. 00:21:01.020 --> 00:21:04.020 1 Corinthians 2, 9-16, reading from the message. 00:21:12.020 --> 00:21:16.020 That's why we have this scripture text. No one's ever seen or heard anything like this. 00:21:16.020 --> 00:21:21.020 Never so much as imagined anything quite like it, what God has arranged for those who love him. 00:21:21.020 --> 00:21:29.020 But you've seen and heard it because God, by his Spirit, has brought it all out into the open before you. 00:21:29.020 --> 00:21:37.020 The Spirit, not content to flit around on the surface, dives into the depths of God and brings out what God planned all along. 00:21:37.020 --> 00:21:43.020 Whoever knows what you're thinking and planning except you yourself, same with God, 00:21:43.020 --> 00:21:50.020 except that he not only knows what he's thinking, but he lets us in on it. 00:21:50.020 --> 00:21:54.020 God offers a full report on the gifts of life and salvation that he's giving us. 00:21:54.020 --> 00:21:57.020 We don't have to rely on the world's guesses and opinions. 00:21:57.020 --> 00:22:01.020 We didn't learn this by reading books or going to school. Hallelujah. 00:22:01.020 --> 00:22:05.020 We learned it from God, who taught us person to person through Jesus, 00:22:05.020 --> 00:22:08.020 and we are passing it on to you in the same first-hand, personal way. 00:22:09.020 --> 00:22:14.020 The unspiritual self, just as it is by nature, can't receive the gifts of God's Spirit. 00:22:14.020 --> 00:22:18.020 There's no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. 00:22:18.020 --> 00:22:22.020 Spirit can only be known by Spirit, God's Spirit, and our spirits in open communion. 00:22:22.020 --> 00:22:29.020 Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God's Spirit is doing and can't be judged by unspiritual critics. 00:22:29.020 --> 00:22:34.020 Isaiah's question, is there anyone around who knows God's Spirit? Anyone who knows what he's doing? 00:22:34.020 --> 00:22:38.020 Has been answered. Christ knows, and we have Christ's Spirit. Brilliant. 00:22:43.020 --> 00:22:47.020 Guys, the Holy Spirit alone knows what God is thinking. 00:22:47.020 --> 00:22:55.020 The Holy Spirit alone, in the entire universe, there is only one who knows what God is thinking. 00:22:55.020 --> 00:22:57.020 That's the Holy Spirit. 00:22:58.020 --> 00:23:04.020 In the entire universe, there is only one who knows what the Father and the Son are thinking. 00:23:04.020 --> 00:23:09.020 In the entire universe, there's only one who knows what the Father and the Son are thinking. 00:23:09.020 --> 00:23:12.020 He alone knows what the Father and the Son are thinking. 00:23:12.020 --> 00:23:23.020 And he searches it out for me. It didn't come through the musings of men. 00:23:48.020 --> 00:23:53.020 But the thing is, we think that's it, no further. 00:23:53.020 --> 00:23:57.020 Jesus didn't say that he would just interpret what Jesus said. 00:23:57.020 --> 00:24:01.020 Jesus did say yes, that he will make clear what I have said. 00:24:01.020 --> 00:24:06.020 But then Jesus goes one step further and he says, and he will also guide you into all truth. 00:24:06.020 --> 00:24:09.020 Because at present, if I told you things, you wouldn't be able to bear it. 00:24:09.020 --> 00:24:11.020 But he will guide you into all truth. 00:24:11.020 --> 00:24:14.020 We see the Holy Spirit. Church sees the Holy Spirit. 00:24:14.020 --> 00:24:16.020 Pastors see the Holy Spirit. 00:24:16.020 --> 00:24:21.020 Bible colleges definitely see the Holy Spirit as just an interpreter of this. 00:24:21.020 --> 00:24:26.020 So he is better than most Greek and Hebrew scholars that read it. 00:24:26.020 --> 00:24:31.020 Really? That's all he is? 00:24:37.020 --> 00:24:40.020 He alone knows what God is thinking. He searches it out for me. 00:24:40.020 --> 00:24:42.020 He searches it out for me. 00:24:42.020 --> 00:24:44.020 He searches it out for each of us. 00:24:44.020 --> 00:24:47.020 He searches it out for us as a church. 00:24:47.020 --> 00:24:50.020 He tailors it. He tailors it. 00:24:50.020 --> 00:24:53.020 Conspire with him. 00:24:53.020 --> 00:25:00.020 He's got this thing for, okay, Jacob needs to know this because at present he is a pastor of this church 00:25:00.020 --> 00:25:02.020 and this is what God wants him to do, okay. 00:25:02.020 --> 00:25:07.020 So let me search out things from God's mind for Jacob so that I can tell him. 00:25:07.020 --> 00:25:12.020 And let me first search it out and then put it into words that Jacob will understand a certain way. 00:25:12.020 --> 00:25:17.020 If I put it in Greek or Hebrew, he wouldn't have a clue because he didn't attend those classes. 00:25:17.020 --> 00:25:20.020 So he paid for them. 00:25:20.020 --> 00:25:23.020 Sorry. 00:25:23.020 --> 00:25:28.020 So he's not just Jesus' interpreter but can do nothing, I only say what I hear my father saying. 00:26:21.020 --> 00:26:24.020 And in John 16 the same thing is applied to the Spirit. 00:26:24.020 --> 00:26:29.020 This is where the triune speak on his own but what he heard, the Holy Spirit speaks to me what he hears. 00:26:39.020 --> 00:26:42.020 John 16 talks about it. 00:26:42.020 --> 00:26:48.020 That the Holy Spirit will only say to you what he hears and he will take from what is mine and give it to you. 00:26:48.020 --> 00:26:53.020 And then Jesus quickly says, I say that because all that belongs to the Father is mine. 00:26:53.020 --> 00:26:55.020 That is why I say it. 00:26:55.020 --> 00:27:05.020 There's such respect and relationship in the triune God. 00:27:14.020 --> 00:27:19.020 Sometimes it's odd to say they respect each other because it makes it sound like we have three gods. 00:27:19.020 --> 00:27:22.020 No, we have one god but they respect each other. 00:27:24.020 --> 00:27:27.020 And they exalt each other. 00:27:28.020 --> 00:27:34.020 At this present time in life the Father is pointing to the Son and the Holy Spirit is pointing to the Son. 00:27:34.020 --> 00:27:37.020 Because he is a visible image of God. 00:27:37.020 --> 00:27:40.020 By looking at him we understand who the Father is like. 00:27:40.020 --> 00:27:45.020 As the Holy Spirit adores him and loves talking about him. 00:27:45.020 --> 00:27:51.020 And the Father points towards him and has stepped back so that we may know what he looks like by looking at the Son. 00:27:52.020 --> 00:27:58.020 And the Son meanwhile has taken center stage but it's only a matter of time before he points back to the Father. 00:27:58.020 --> 00:28:02.020 And the Son and the Father are very protective about the Holy Spirit. 00:28:02.020 --> 00:28:04.020 We'll briefly touch on that. 00:28:11.020 --> 00:28:15.020 The thing is what the Holy Spirit speaks to me is what he hears. 00:28:16.020 --> 00:28:21.020 And he hears whatever Jesus and the Father want to say to me, want to say to us. 00:28:21.020 --> 00:28:25.020 He searches the depths of Jesus' mind for me. 00:28:25.020 --> 00:28:29.020 He searches the depths of the Father's heart for me, for us. 00:28:29.020 --> 00:28:31.020 Both individual and corporate. 00:28:31.020 --> 00:28:34.020 Saying, hey Jacob I searched Jesus' mind. 00:28:34.020 --> 00:28:36.020 This is what he has for you. 00:28:38.020 --> 00:28:40.020 Conspire with the Spirit. 00:28:45.020 --> 00:28:48.020 The Holy Spirit is absolutely prophetic. 00:28:50.020 --> 00:28:59.020 Jesus said of him in the famous John 16 chapter where he talks so much about the comforter or the paraclete or the advocate or the intercessor or the friend. 00:29:00.020 --> 00:29:03.020 There's so many words or the helper. 00:29:04.020 --> 00:29:09.020 He says of him that he will show you what is to come. 00:29:10.020 --> 00:29:13.020 It is impossible for a church not to be prophetic. 00:29:15.020 --> 00:29:19.020 It is shutting down a whole side of God. 00:29:22.020 --> 00:29:24.020 It's absurd. 00:29:28.020 --> 00:29:33.020 It's absurd to think that the Holy Spirit only has a couple of guys prophesy occasionally. 00:29:33.020 --> 00:29:39.020 Now you can see why Paul said in 1 Corinthians 14 that I wish that all of you would prophesy. 00:29:40.020 --> 00:29:44.020 He is absolutely prophetic. 00:29:44.020 --> 00:29:46.020 He predicts the things to come. 00:29:46.020 --> 00:29:48.020 This is his department. 00:29:48.020 --> 00:30:16.020 Here's a sentence I want us to think about because this is perhaps the crux of the Bible. 00:30:16.020 --> 00:30:21.020 This is the crux of what I was praying for before we began this teaching. 00:30:25.020 --> 00:30:38.020 The Holy Spirit is my advantage in heaven. 00:30:41.020 --> 00:30:44.020 The Holy Spirit is my advantage in heaven. 00:30:44.020 --> 00:30:47.020 The Holy Spirit is my advantage in heaven. 00:30:47.020 --> 00:30:49.020 Has Jane left? 00:30:49.020 --> 00:30:52.020 The Holy Spirit is my advantage in heaven. 00:30:54.020 --> 00:30:59.020 As in even though he is part of the Godhead, he plays on my team. 00:31:02.020 --> 00:31:13.020 So imagine that you are on an ice rink and suddenly some guys from the Maple Leafs turn up and they start playing against your team. 00:31:14.020 --> 00:31:20.020 They are the taxi squad of the Maple Leafs, the extra players, but they are better than us. 00:31:20.020 --> 00:31:28.020 So they start playing and then you think to yourself, man, what are we going to do because these guys are NHL level players and they have skills. 00:31:28.020 --> 00:31:35.020 Ours is just a beer league team called Run Baby Run or something. 00:31:36.020 --> 00:31:42.020 So you think to yourself, how are we going to go up against these Maple Leaf extras? 00:31:42.020 --> 00:31:58.020 Then one of your teammates just goes and says, wait, and he comes back and he comes back with Crosby and Conor McDavid. 00:31:58.020 --> 00:32:03.020 I hope you know your hockey. If you don't, we'll have to reconsider your membership. 00:32:04.020 --> 00:32:14.020 So they come back with Crosby and Conor McDavid and now suddenly these are guys who are supposed to be brothers in the NHL, 00:32:14.020 --> 00:32:19.020 but now that they are on your team, you have a distinct advantage. 00:32:19.020 --> 00:32:28.020 That's a very poor example of what I'm trying to say, but here's the gist of it. 00:32:29.020 --> 00:32:37.020 The Holy Spirit is my advantage in heaven in the sense that even though he is the third person in the Godhead, 00:32:37.020 --> 00:32:49.020 he plays on my team, even though he is God, he conspires with me to win and he exposes what he knows of the Father and the Son to my advantage. 00:32:49.020 --> 00:32:55.020 It's like having someone on the inside who is actually on your team. 00:32:55.020 --> 00:33:04.020 This is the part where if you don't listen to this with ears that are trying to understand, you will think I'm being heretical and I'm not. 00:33:06.020 --> 00:33:10.020 You don't know how much the Spirit of God dotes over me and over you. 00:33:10.020 --> 00:33:17.020 We catch a glimpse of it in James 3 or 4 where it says the Spirit of God yearns over you jealously. 00:33:17.020 --> 00:33:20.020 He wants you to win. 00:33:20.020 --> 00:33:29.020 When the Father conceals things that I am trying to search out, the Holy Spirit comes and reveals them behind the Father's deliberately turned back. 00:33:29.020 --> 00:33:36.020 It's like when mums know the kid wants to steal a cookie and it's wrong to steal a cookie and the mum turns around so you can steal the cookie. 00:33:36.020 --> 00:33:40.020 It's literally like that. 00:33:40.020 --> 00:33:46.020 Where you're trying to search out a matter, you're trying to find an answer. 00:33:46.020 --> 00:33:49.020 And it is the glory of God to conceal it so that you press in. 00:33:49.020 --> 00:33:55.020 And as you're pressing in the Holy Spirit who loves coming and exposing the knowledge of the Father and the Son to you, 00:33:55.020 --> 00:34:01.020 while the Father's back is turned, he comes and tells you what the Father is up to and what the Son wants you to do. 00:34:03.020 --> 00:34:10.020 Even though he is part of the God that he plays on your team, he conspires with you to win. 00:34:11.020 --> 00:34:13.020 He helps you argue. 00:34:13.020 --> 00:34:17.020 He helps you argue and figure things out. 00:34:17.020 --> 00:34:23.020 In Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 3, if you read it from the NIRV, 00:34:23.020 --> 00:34:27.020 Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 3, 00:34:27.020 --> 00:34:31.020 Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 3, 00:34:31.020 --> 00:34:35.020 Oh, verse 1, I'm not too sure. 00:34:35.020 --> 00:34:38.020 Habakkuk chapter 2, verse 1, reading from the NIRV, 00:34:38.020 --> 00:34:40.020 I will go up to the lookout tower. 00:34:40.020 --> 00:34:42.020 I will station myself on the city wall. 00:34:42.020 --> 00:34:45.020 I'll wait to see how the Lord will reply to me. 00:34:45.020 --> 00:34:47.020 Then I'll try to figure out how to answer him. 00:34:47.020 --> 00:34:50.020 It's that last part that the Holy Spirit gets involved. 00:34:50.020 --> 00:34:54.020 Where he'll help you argue with God with regard to Sodom. 00:34:54.020 --> 00:34:58.020 He will help you figure out how to answer God. 00:35:02.020 --> 00:35:07.020 He'll help you become the Syrophoenician woman who knows how to retort. 00:35:07.020 --> 00:35:11.020 Where Jesus says, you won't even get the crumbs off the table. 00:35:11.020 --> 00:35:13.020 Conspire with him. 00:35:13.020 --> 00:35:15.020 He's super wise. 00:35:21.020 --> 00:35:25.020 He engages you in the games that the Father wants you to play. 00:35:33.020 --> 00:35:36.020 Another cool thing that the Holy Spirit does, 00:35:36.020 --> 00:35:38.020 I pray God that you take it to heart. 00:35:40.020 --> 00:35:42.020 You know, you should consider the times of worship 00:35:42.020 --> 00:35:48.020 that may be unusually difficult on live stream during times of COVID. 00:35:48.020 --> 00:35:51.020 You should take heart and use these times 00:35:51.020 --> 00:35:55.020 as times to train your ability and sense of worship. 00:35:55.020 --> 00:35:58.020 Because if you can train yourself to worship with live stream, 00:35:58.020 --> 00:36:03.020 imagine what's going to happen when we come together as a corporate body. 00:36:03.020 --> 00:36:08.020 Imagine what can break loose, break through, what can open up, what we can see. 00:36:08.020 --> 00:36:10.020 You can sit alone at home. 00:36:10.020 --> 00:36:14.020 And my God, don't we do that with very good singers 00:36:14.020 --> 00:36:21.020 where we listen to a CD or listen to something on your iPhone. 00:36:21.020 --> 00:36:24.020 And what happens? You begin to worship. 00:36:24.020 --> 00:36:32.020 The only difference is, I'm not Matt Redmond. 00:36:32.020 --> 00:36:39.020 And Jane is not Tasha Cobbs or Carrie Jobbs or stuff like that. 00:36:39.020 --> 00:36:42.020 And Emily is not Darlene Sheck. 00:36:42.020 --> 00:36:44.020 We don't even dress like them. 00:36:44.020 --> 00:36:47.020 Please, maybe if we dressed like them, we would sound like them. 00:36:47.020 --> 00:37:06.020 The Holy Spirit shows me the majesty of God in worship 00:37:06.020 --> 00:37:10.020 so that I'll move into the correct position before God's throne. 00:37:10.020 --> 00:37:12.020 Please hear me. 00:37:12.020 --> 00:37:18.020 The Holy Spirit during worship shows me glimpses of the majesty of God 00:37:18.020 --> 00:37:23.020 so that I quickly position myself correctly before the throne 00:37:23.020 --> 00:37:28.020 to catch who He wants to be, to catch what He wants me to do, 00:37:28.020 --> 00:37:32.020 and to catch how He wants me to pray. 00:37:32.020 --> 00:37:34.020 One of the things that can happen during worship, 00:37:34.020 --> 00:37:38.020 and I plead that you try this tomorrow, 00:37:38.020 --> 00:37:44.020 is that the Holy Spirit will begin to show you the majesty of God in worship, 00:37:44.020 --> 00:37:50.020 and it will allow you to move into the correct position before His throne 00:37:50.020 --> 00:37:57.020 to catch what He wants to do, who He wants to be, and how He wants you to pray. 00:37:57.020 --> 00:38:03.020 And all these things that I'm saying are basically the role of the intercessor 00:38:03.020 --> 00:38:09.020 or the advocate that Jesus said the Holy Spirit would be in Romans 8, 26 and 27. 00:38:09.020 --> 00:38:14.020 He not only searches God's heart, in Romans 8 it says, 00:38:14.020 --> 00:38:20.020 after He searches God's heart and conveys to me what the Father and Son are thinking, 00:38:20.020 --> 00:38:25.020 He then searches my heart and conveys to God what I really want. 00:38:25.020 --> 00:38:30.020 Now what I really want in my spirit is exactly what God wants, 00:38:30.020 --> 00:38:34.020 because my spirit and His spirit have become one. 00:38:34.020 --> 00:38:38.020 This kind of agreement you will not find on the earth. 00:38:38.020 --> 00:38:48.020 Go read Romans 8, 26 and 27. 00:38:48.020 --> 00:38:52.020 When you begin to conspire with the Spirit, you begin to agree with God, 00:38:52.020 --> 00:38:54.020 and can two walk together except they be agreed, 00:38:54.020 --> 00:38:59.020 but if they agree concerning anything, touching anything that God desires, wills, 00:38:59.020 --> 00:39:04.020 then who can stop the goodness of God given that it comes with tremendous power. 00:39:04.020 --> 00:39:07.020 Romans 8, 26 and 27. 00:39:07.020 --> 00:39:12.020 Ah man, some of these messages you and I both have to go and listen to again. 00:39:12.020 --> 00:39:18.020 Romans 8, 26 and 27. 00:39:18.020 --> 00:39:21.020 In the same way the Holy Spirit helps us when we are weak. 00:39:21.020 --> 00:39:25.020 We don't know what we should pray for, but the Spirit Himself prays for us. 00:39:25.020 --> 00:39:27.020 He prays with groans too deep for words. 00:39:27.020 --> 00:39:28.020 Now look at the next one. 00:39:28.020 --> 00:39:32.020 God who looks into our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, 00:39:32.020 --> 00:39:35.020 and the Spirit prays for God's people as God wants Him to pray. 00:39:35.020 --> 00:39:41.020 Brilliant! As in on one hand the Holy Spirit searches the mind of Christ so that He can convey it to me, 00:39:41.020 --> 00:39:47.020 and then He searches my heart and conveys to God that this is what Jacob desires. 00:39:47.020 --> 00:39:51.020 Jacob and you will have come together because I have been working on it. 00:39:51.020 --> 00:39:56.020 The Holy Spirit is my advantage in heaven. 00:39:56.020 --> 00:39:58.020 He plays on my team. 00:39:58.020 --> 00:40:00.020 He wants me to win. 00:40:00.020 --> 00:40:03.020 He wants me to know the mind of Christ. 00:40:03.020 --> 00:40:05.020 He wants me to know the heart of the Father. 00:40:05.020 --> 00:40:10.020 When God tries to conceal something so that He can see me pressing in to get it, 00:40:10.020 --> 00:40:14.020 the Holy Spirit quickly comes and reveals it to me in words that I understand 00:40:14.020 --> 00:40:17.020 while the Father's back is turned deliberately. 00:40:17.020 --> 00:40:21.020 The Holy Spirit helps me argue, helps me contend. 00:40:21.020 --> 00:40:26.020 When Jesus says come and contend, the Holy Spirit helps me contend. 00:40:26.020 --> 00:40:29.020 The Holy Spirit helps me figure out a response to God. 00:40:29.020 --> 00:40:31.020 The Holy Spirit helps me pray correctly. 00:40:31.020 --> 00:40:34.020 The Holy Spirit searches the mind of God and tells me how to pray. 00:40:34.020 --> 00:40:39.020 And then He searches my mind knowing that I don't even have enough words to pray, 00:40:39.020 --> 00:40:42.020 and if I prayed in tongues I wouldn't understand it anyways. 00:40:42.020 --> 00:40:43.020 And He represents me. 00:40:43.020 --> 00:40:45.020 He is my advocate. 00:40:45.020 --> 00:40:46.020 He represents me. 00:40:46.020 --> 00:40:47.020 He is my advocate. 00:40:47.020 --> 00:40:49.020 He is my advocate here on earth. 00:40:49.020 --> 00:40:50.020 He is my advocate in heaven. 00:40:50.020 --> 00:40:53.020 He is my advocate from God to me. 00:40:53.020 --> 00:40:55.020 He is my advocate from me to God. 00:41:01.020 --> 00:41:07.020 He helps me during times of worship where He'll show me the majesty of God. 00:41:07.020 --> 00:41:09.020 He'll show me the different facets of God. 00:41:09.020 --> 00:41:13.020 And once I catch the facet of God that God is trying to reveal, 00:41:13.020 --> 00:41:18.020 I now am able to move into position to see God the way He wants to be seen 00:41:18.020 --> 00:41:20.020 so that I'll know what He wants to do 00:41:20.020 --> 00:41:24.020 and so that I'll be able to pray the way He wants me to pray. 00:41:27.020 --> 00:41:32.020 It's like finding the best seat in a big hall 00:41:32.020 --> 00:41:39.020 because you know there's a particular magic trick or a performance 00:41:39.020 --> 00:41:44.020 that you can get the full blast off only if you sit in a certain place. 00:41:44.020 --> 00:41:50.020 And once you see it happening you understand the scene entirely. 00:41:50.020 --> 00:41:54.020 Sit anywhere else, even in the best seats, and you will not get it. 00:41:54.020 --> 00:42:01.020 I remember once God positioning me and some of my friends at the show in called Kavalia, 00:42:01.020 --> 00:42:03.020 which is the horse show, 00:42:03.020 --> 00:42:09.020 and he had me sit on a seat that I don't know why I picked. 00:42:09.020 --> 00:42:14.020 I was trying to pick seats online and I felt pick these three seats and I picked those seats. 00:42:14.020 --> 00:42:17.020 They weren't the most expensive seats. 00:42:17.020 --> 00:42:19.020 They weren't the best seats in the house. 00:42:19.020 --> 00:42:21.020 But I picked those three seats. 00:42:21.020 --> 00:42:28.020 And those three seats had, I found out, two distinct advantages. 00:42:29.020 --> 00:42:34.020 One, it gave you a full view when the horses would come running from both sides. 00:42:34.020 --> 00:42:36.020 You could see them coming. 00:42:36.020 --> 00:42:38.020 Any other place you can see them when they come in front. 00:42:38.020 --> 00:42:41.020 Where we sat, you could see them coming from the sides. 00:42:41.020 --> 00:42:45.020 And you could see the strength of these horses galloping right through. 00:42:45.020 --> 00:42:48.020 You could have water splash on you as they came. 00:42:48.020 --> 00:42:49.020 That was one advantage. 00:42:49.020 --> 00:42:55.020 The second advantage was those seats where I sat, right behind me was a man. 00:42:55.020 --> 00:42:58.020 And before the show began, I said hello to him. 00:42:58.020 --> 00:43:02.020 And he turns around to me and says, I own this show. 00:43:02.020 --> 00:43:05.020 And I turned to him and I said, yeah, right. 00:43:05.020 --> 00:43:06.020 Why? 00:43:06.020 --> 00:43:10.020 Because if he owned the show, surely he must be sitting in better seats than the seats that I booked. 00:43:10.020 --> 00:43:15.020 And he said, no, really, I own this show. 00:43:15.020 --> 00:43:17.020 The guy actually created the show. 00:43:17.020 --> 00:43:18.020 He owned the show. 00:43:18.020 --> 00:43:20.020 He used to be with Sir Gdi Sole. 00:43:20.020 --> 00:43:22.020 And then he started this show. 00:43:22.020 --> 00:43:24.020 Started chatting to him. 00:43:24.020 --> 00:43:25.020 Prophecyed on him. 00:43:25.020 --> 00:43:27.020 Wrote down the prophetic word. 00:43:27.020 --> 00:43:28.020 Gave it to him. 00:43:28.020 --> 00:43:37.020 He was so impacted that he now took us on a VIP tour of the horses of the performers. 00:43:37.020 --> 00:43:40.020 That would have cost hundreds. 00:43:40.020 --> 00:43:43.020 Was given free because of the prophetic word he received. 00:43:43.020 --> 00:43:45.020 His son got in touch with me later. 00:43:45.020 --> 00:43:47.020 Asking me more about the prophetic word. 00:43:47.020 --> 00:43:49.020 Was able to tell him what Jesus could do. 00:43:49.020 --> 00:43:50.020 Why? 00:43:50.020 --> 00:43:56.020 Because you got the seat in the house that would bring to you a glimpse of what must happen. 00:43:56.020 --> 00:44:00.020 Let's draw that into worship. 00:44:00.020 --> 00:44:04.020 Worship if you actually engage into it with your spirit. 00:44:04.020 --> 00:44:06.020 A hand, the eyes of your spirit open. 00:44:06.020 --> 00:44:09.020 I plead with you, use this time. 00:44:09.020 --> 00:44:11.020 I know you're at a disadvantage. 00:44:11.020 --> 00:44:13.020 But use this time. 00:44:13.020 --> 00:44:16.020 Take your feet off the sofa. 00:44:16.020 --> 00:44:17.020 Put your feet down. 00:44:17.020 --> 00:44:19.020 Kneel when you have to bow. 00:44:19.020 --> 00:44:20.020 Bow when you have to. 00:44:20.020 --> 00:44:25.020 Stop chewing chips. 00:44:25.020 --> 00:44:26.020 And engage. 00:44:26.020 --> 00:44:31.020 And you will in difficult times like this, catch marvelous glimpses of God. 00:44:31.020 --> 00:44:35.020 And it will help you position yourself so that you know what he wants to do. 00:44:35.020 --> 00:44:37.020 How he wants to come to you. 00:44:37.020 --> 00:44:38.020 And how you need to pray. 00:44:38.020 --> 00:44:40.020 This is the work of the spirit of God. 00:44:40.020 --> 00:44:41.020 Take advantage of it. 00:44:41.020 --> 00:44:43.020 This is great training time for us. 00:44:43.020 --> 00:44:49.020 When it comes to these corporate things that we now have to do alone with God. 00:44:49.020 --> 00:44:51.020 Don't lament. 00:44:51.020 --> 00:44:52.020 It will pass. 00:44:52.020 --> 00:44:55.020 But before it passes, we must learn the skills. 00:45:06.020 --> 00:45:09.020 Advocate, intercessor. 00:45:09.020 --> 00:45:11.020 This is what he does. 00:45:11.020 --> 00:45:12.020 I have an advantage in heaven. 00:45:12.020 --> 00:45:16.020 I was so thrilled when I found this out. 00:45:16.020 --> 00:45:21.020 That's why I call it conspiring with the Holy Spirit. 00:45:21.020 --> 00:45:27.020 I suddenly realized that knowing the things of heaven is no longer difficult. 00:45:27.020 --> 00:45:37.020 I got a partner in there who is part of the Godhead. 00:45:37.020 --> 00:45:41.020 It's like having someone on the inside. 00:45:41.020 --> 00:45:43.020 Where you know what's going to happen before it happens. 00:45:43.020 --> 00:45:45.020 Before the rest of the earth knows you know. 00:45:45.020 --> 00:45:53.020 It is literally the Holy Spirit saying, gosh, now that Jacob knows, shall I hide from him what I'm about to do?
