In a sense it was released even before the earth was formed because it was said 00:00:56.460 --> 00:01:03.100 of Christ that he was slain before the foundations of the earth. If that is the case then God has 00:01:03.100 --> 00:01:08.260 always been ascending God but with the coming of the Holy Spirit, with the sending of Christ, 00:01:08.260 --> 00:01:14.900 one of the things God wanted the church to be is, hey can I have an apostolic church and we'll 00:01:14.900 --> 00:01:21.780 define apostolic in a second but the reason we need to talk about the apostolic dimension that 00:01:21.780 --> 00:01:28.900 we must walk in, it is because the moment the Father sent the Son and he sent the Holy Spirit, 00:01:28.900 --> 00:01:37.820 God released from heaven ascending dimension that was supposed to be part of our essential 00:01:37.820 --> 00:01:48.420 lives continuously and when Jesus came he kept doing the same thing. He sent the disciples, 00:01:48.660 --> 00:02:07.140 the Apostles, he sent the 72, he sent the Holy Spirit. So I know the words apostolic and dimension 00:02:07.140 --> 00:02:17.100 sound heavy but basically we are talking about ascending dimension of the church that we must 00:02:18.100 --> 00:02:24.500 absorb, see as essential to our being because if we don't then we will miss out on something 00:02:24.500 --> 00:02:31.460 critical both from the perspective of God and from the perspective of the church and therefore 00:02:31.460 --> 00:02:41.860 affect the way the earth functions. How best to say this? What churches don't realize and some Christians 00:03:10.780 --> 00:03:17.800 hardly think about is that the ascending dimension of God is critical to him. If he 00:03:17.800 --> 00:03:27.540 wasn't ascending God, we probably would not be saved. That is why we're talking about this. 00:03:27.540 --> 00:03:38.300 And when Jesus came, he knew he was sent from the Father so he pioneered a lifestyle that would 00:03:38.300 --> 00:03:46.860 make it impossible for his followers to escape being sent. One of the things Jesus does is he 00:03:46.860 --> 00:03:52.580 makes sure that he does what he asks us to do. So when he came on the earth, he pioneered a lifestyle 00:03:52.580 --> 00:04:01.380 that would make it impossible for anyone who's following him not to be sent. We have to think 00:04:01.380 --> 00:04:06.860 of ourselves as a sent people, not a sent missionary, not a sent evangelist, not a sent Derek, 00:04:06.940 --> 00:04:14.300 not a sent Mohini, but a sent church. It is the essence of who we are. This should be something that is at your core. You share something with 00:04:31.060 --> 00:04:35.540 Christ because Christ now lives in you and if you and I don't think like this, it becomes very 00:04:35.540 --> 00:04:42.900 difficult. The church was always supposed to be apostolic. It was not supposed to be anything 00:04:42.900 --> 00:04:52.020 else. An apostolic doesn't mean a bunch of apostles in the church. How do we define apostolic? So let's 00:04:52.020 --> 00:05:06.220 define that. Apostolic is a specific sending, a specific sending by the sender, which in this 00:05:06.220 --> 00:05:22.580 case is obviously God by the sender with a clear mandate to the sent one. And the sent one in this 00:05:22.580 --> 00:05:36.420 case is, oh my God, that other church is competing from below, a specific sending by the sender with 00:05:36.420 --> 00:05:41.020 a clear mandate to the sent one, which in this case is the church. So every church is supposed 00:05:41.020 --> 00:05:47.140 to be apostolic. This is what apostolic means, a specific sending by the sender with a clear mandate 00:05:47.140 --> 00:05:59.900 to the sent one. And God does this in a generic form in Matthew 28, 18, and then he does it in a 00:05:59.900 --> 00:06:09.660 specific form for each church. And then he does it even more specifically for individuals in the 00:06:09.660 --> 00:06:19.660 church. And if this is not how you think, then it becomes very difficult for you to operate like 00:06:19.660 --> 00:06:26.860 this. And it becomes very difficult for me to help you operate like this. And it makes it very 00:06:26.860 --> 00:06:43.020 difficult for you to continue in the church. Any questions? The more I think about things like Good 00:06:43.020 --> 00:06:48.540 Friday and all, and the cost Christ paid, you think to yourself, how can you compromise anything 00:06:48.540 --> 00:06:55.940 that Christ wants for the church? One. Two, what cost is too high to pay for that sake? And three, 00:06:56.020 --> 00:07:02.140 does popular opinion matter? The answer to all those three questions is, I don't know whether it's 00:07:02.140 --> 00:07:20.020 yes or no, but you better have to get it right. Any questions? Okay. So the apostolic best stewards 00:07:20.100 --> 00:07:30.740 the mission of the church, the movement of the spirit, and men and women of the spirit are best 00:07:30.740 --> 00:07:40.020 stewarded in an apostolic setting. Why? Because an apostolic setting takes into account a specific 00:07:40.020 --> 00:07:47.780 sending by the sender with a clear mandate to the sent one. Therefore, in this, you have the mission 00:07:47.780 --> 00:07:58.740 of the mission of God, the movement of the spirit, and the man or the woman of God taken care of. 00:08:04.740 --> 00:08:10.900 This is what most churches will avoid. And how do you avoid this? You avoid it by having a mission 00:08:10.900 --> 00:08:24.900 committee, having specific missionaries and evangelists, and having a mission Sunday. 00:08:28.900 --> 00:08:35.620 That's how you avoid it. A mission Sunday, a mission committee, and a few missionaries is how 00:08:35.620 --> 00:08:44.980 you avoid it. When the entire church is called to be apostolic. And if this doesn't percolate down 00:08:44.980 --> 00:08:56.260 to our inner being, it becomes very difficult. We must shake our insides, remove all historical 00:08:56.260 --> 00:09:02.900 and religious junk, make us think that this is how we must be. And God knows your situation, 00:09:02.900 --> 00:09:09.060 God knows your resources, God knows your 8 billion failures, which he can make disappear. 00:09:09.060 --> 00:09:14.500 God knows everything about your life, how much you need to be at home, how you need to take care of 00:09:14.500 --> 00:09:19.860 your parents or your children. He knows all that. You cannot deviate or amend the specifics. You can't change them. 00:09:51.060 --> 00:09:58.660 You can't change them. There's nothing you can do. Once a specific mandate is given or a plan is 00:09:59.460 --> 00:10:07.780 given or a blueprint is given or a direction is given, it is not yours to amend. It is not yours to 00:10:08.900 --> 00:10:17.380 mediate or moderate. It is not yours to deviate from. The generic mandate has always been disciple nations, one life at a time. 00:10:47.060 --> 00:10:51.540 Disciple nations, one life at a time. And praise God by the grace of God and by the power of the 00:10:51.540 --> 00:11:00.020 Holy Spirit and by willing people. We've stuck with that for 17 years. Stuck with that, never deviated from it. 00:11:03.620 --> 00:11:11.380 I was speaking to a pastor who will come here in May or June about what this church is doing 00:11:12.020 --> 00:11:20.180 and I told him that he would be coming and not to meet me but to meet you. And he says, 00:11:20.180 --> 00:11:27.300 Jacob, I've read enough books and I have talked to people but nobody has ever said to me, come and see. 00:11:29.300 --> 00:11:34.260 Come and see, come and see. And so he's looking forward to that. There's some three or four coming 00:11:34.260 --> 00:11:41.460 from Toronto and two or three coming from New York. And these are guys who are far more learned 00:11:41.460 --> 00:11:51.060 than us. They want to see. What will they see? I don't know. I must have both an intimate relationship with you and a 00:13:52.340 --> 00:13:57.940 subservient relationship with you. Because if I don't, I can have it with an invisible God, 00:13:57.940 --> 00:14:04.980 but becomes difficult with a visible people. This is part of our senteness. And unfortunately, it has seeped into the church, where we are always 00:15:19.620 --> 00:15:26.900 representing men to God. One of the things about the apostolic is, because it is a sender sending 00:15:28.340 --> 00:15:37.140 the sent one with a specific mandate, the apostolic represents God to man. This is who God wants 00:15:37.140 --> 00:15:46.900 us to be to you. That comes first, not second. When this shifts, you get a completely different paradigm. 00:15:49.380 --> 00:15:59.700 So, what is the intent? Go to Romans chapter one, verse five, Romans one, five. 00:16:02.100 --> 00:16:03.060 Romans one, five. 00:16:08.020 --> 00:16:15.940 It says, Paul is talking that I received through, he talks about Christ as the risen one, 00:16:15.940 --> 00:16:22.100 Jesus Christ the Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship. 00:16:23.700 --> 00:16:29.460 If you notice, he's not saying I, he's saying we. He's either including him and others or he's 00:16:29.460 --> 00:16:34.980 including the church, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring what? To bring about 00:16:35.620 --> 00:16:45.620 obedience. To bring about obedience. What does obedience look like? Calling men and women 00:16:49.380 --> 00:16:55.620 to submission. What does submission look like? We won't deviate from this because at this present 00:17:25.860 --> 00:17:32.020 time, these are the things this church must learn and must be taught and it must go deep. 00:17:32.020 --> 00:17:40.100 Because at this present time, there will be attempts to shake this. We must have this deeply embedded. 00:17:48.180 --> 00:17:56.020 Okay, it's like this. So when a church begins, you're supposed to set foundations deep 00:17:56.980 --> 00:18:00.020 and those foundations then become unshakable. 00:18:02.340 --> 00:18:06.340 And then you can build for a stretch on the foundations that were built. 00:18:08.340 --> 00:18:17.220 But as more and more are added, both in terms of nations and people, you have to once again go examine 00:18:17.220 --> 00:18:22.660 the foundations and go even deeper in the things that are necessary. You've got to go a level further 00:18:22.820 --> 00:18:28.100 because now as more and more will come, the foundations have to grow deeper. That is why 00:18:28.100 --> 00:18:34.500 I'm saying we need to examine this again because there are people that weren't there when this was 00:18:34.500 --> 00:18:38.500 happening that now need to be reintroduced to certain constructs. 00:18:38.500 --> 00:18:52.740 So that is why we're trying to get this right. Otherwise, if you try to keep building higher 00:18:54.100 --> 00:18:58.980 without building deeper, this will break and it'll be a shame because you've put in too much work. 00:18:58.980 --> 00:19:00.020 You've put in too much work. 00:19:06.260 --> 00:19:14.660 So Romans 1.5, our intent is can we bring about obedience? It has to begin with conversion but it ends with being as mature as Christ. And when 00:19:25.140 --> 00:19:29.380 an apostolic church forgets that, it loses the plot. 00:19:32.740 --> 00:19:38.820 As I look at you, I should have no other intent as one who leads an apostolic church than to bring 00:19:38.820 --> 00:19:47.700 you into the maturity of Christ. Anything less would be a disservice to the king and would be 00:19:47.700 --> 00:19:54.260 a betrayal of his intents to you. And you must think the same way because you don't have to be 00:19:54.260 --> 00:19:58.580 me to do this. You can have a person who you are helping and it has to be the same. 00:20:03.300 --> 00:20:06.500 I was talking to Tuni and Anilay and they were asking me some questions about how to go about 00:20:06.500 --> 00:20:11.700 stuff and how to do this and how to do that. And one of my things was, this is what I said to Tuni, 00:20:11.700 --> 00:20:18.420 when you begin to love people, as much as you love Anilay, you will become defensive, protective, 00:20:18.980 --> 00:20:24.340 you will do, you will scale any mountain, get anything because you want your bride to prosper. 00:20:25.220 --> 00:20:30.580 And that is a question I must ask and you must ask yourself. Do you love the church as much as 00:20:30.580 --> 00:20:36.580 you love Lorian, as much as you love Anilay, as much as you love Rennie? Is that how you love the 00:20:36.580 --> 00:20:44.100 church? As much as you love Sophia, as much as you love Danny? If you love the church that much, 00:20:44.100 --> 00:20:51.460 what will you not do? What will you not do as much as you love Hamari? That is how we need to 00:20:51.460 --> 00:20:57.060 think. And if I don't think like that, there will always be room for other things to enter and for 00:20:57.060 --> 00:21:13.860 a mixture. My advantage is my marriage is perfect. So, I mean, all the advice I give is not out of 00:21:13.860 --> 00:21:20.260 experience, it comes straight from the Bible. My relationship advice is not tainted by experience. 00:21:21.860 --> 00:21:40.340 So, as you love Karen, when you start walking in this kind of, in this, when you start walking in 00:21:40.340 --> 00:21:45.860 the above, as in when you start walking in this apostolic dimension and not consider your 00:21:45.860 --> 00:21:52.820 importancy because we often consider importancy, but my life is not perfect, but I have sins in my 00:21:52.820 --> 00:21:58.100 life, but I have failed before, I messed up before, things are happening in my life, I'm under this 00:21:58.100 --> 00:22:04.420 attack or that attack and those are importancies that we have. But God is not waiting to take away 00:22:04.420 --> 00:22:12.020 all my importancies before I can function. He has me function as these importancies fall off, 00:22:12.020 --> 00:22:20.020 so I'm functioning. We must be careful not to use our importancies as an excuse. Importancies will 00:22:20.020 --> 00:22:27.780 always be there. And in the area of your importancy, maybe you should not be used, 00:22:27.780 --> 00:22:34.740 but there are other areas where you're potent. So, when you start walking in the above, 00:22:34.740 --> 00:22:40.420 not considering your importancy, a strange thing happens. Apostolic grace and 00:22:42.580 --> 00:22:47.540 anointing fall on you. What is apostolic grace? The 00:22:47.620 --> 00:22:54.100 all of God given to you to accomplish the specific mandate 00:23:00.900 --> 00:23:04.100 that He is sending you for. 00:23:04.660 --> 00:23:10.260 Grace is not a cookie where you break a little and eat it. Grace is all of God. 00:23:11.060 --> 00:23:16.740 Of Jesus, it was said in John chapter 1 that He was full of grace and truth, truth and grace. 00:23:17.700 --> 00:23:23.940 Grace is Jesus saying, I am giving all of myself to you. I am giving all of my life to you. 00:23:25.460 --> 00:23:31.940 Grace is the only thing that I can give you. And in this case, apostolic grace and anointing is all of God given to you to 00:23:46.180 --> 00:23:52.180 accomplish the specific mandate that He is sending you for. The confidence it gives me sometimes when 00:23:52.180 --> 00:23:58.660 I'm scared is so refreshing. So refreshing because you are scared to go into it. You know you're 00:23:58.660 --> 00:24:03.780 inadequate and then there's this grace that comes in and it helps you function. Oh by the way, 00:24:03.780 --> 00:24:08.340 many of you who are functioning well are also functioning because of this grace. 00:24:08.340 --> 00:24:13.300 Because I know some of your lives and what you're going through and then when I see you and hear you 00:24:13.300 --> 00:24:18.740 do things, I think to myself, wow, where did all those weaknesses go? Grace covers weakness. 00:24:18.740 --> 00:24:23.780 What happens is the church becomes a full representation. The church now, 00:24:24.900 --> 00:24:29.700 when the church begins to walk in apostolic dimension, the church is now 00:24:31.140 --> 00:24:41.620 able to fully represent Christ. How? Two ways. One, you'll find that the church is now able to 00:24:41.620 --> 00:24:50.500 represent Christ. How? Two ways. One, you'll find the functions of 00:24:52.100 --> 00:24:57.540 apostle, prophet, teacher, evangelist and pastor functioning in the church. 00:24:59.780 --> 00:25:03.220 And two, you will find saints 00:25:03.300 --> 00:25:08.980 becoming sent ones and the moment they start thinking along the lines of I'm a sent one, 00:25:08.980 --> 00:25:11.780 here's what happens. Demons get driven out, 00:25:13.140 --> 00:25:19.380 healings happen, lepers get cleansed, the gospel is preached 00:25:23.380 --> 00:25:24.500 and the dead are raised. 00:25:24.900 --> 00:25:32.500 It's strange how this function here happens only when we are sent. It doesn't happen when a church 00:25:32.500 --> 00:25:39.700 sits and prays for its own. God will heal regardless, but the sentness of a church unleashes 00:25:39.700 --> 00:25:48.580 signs, miracles and wonders. That was why the Holy Spirit was put on those apostles in this 00:25:48.660 --> 00:25:52.580 first the 12 and then the 72. As they went, they came back with great joy saying, 00:25:53.540 --> 00:26:00.260 we saw demons being driven out, we saw the sick being healed and Jesus had sent the 72 out or the 00:26:00.260 --> 00:26:07.940 70 out or the 12 out. He had sent them. He was so into sending. In John 21, as I have sent you, 00:26:07.940 --> 00:26:14.420 as I was sent, so I send you and he breathes upon them and as he was sent, he was sent. 00:26:14.660 --> 00:26:19.940 As I was sent, so I send you and he breathes upon them and as they receive the Holy Spirit, 00:26:19.940 --> 00:26:25.300 things begin to happen. Acts chapter 1, 8, I am now asking you to wait and when you wait, 00:26:25.300 --> 00:26:29.780 the Holy Spirit will come upon you so that you can be witnesses to me from Jerusalem to Judea to 00:26:29.780 --> 00:26:36.020 Samaria to the ends of the earth. It's a sending out. Acts chapter 13, verse 2, and the Holy Spirit 00:26:36.020 --> 00:26:40.900 said to the ones gathered in Antioch, set apart for me Paul and Barnabas to be sent for the work 00:26:40.900 --> 00:26:46.020 that I have for them. It is essential in the nature of God and therefore it's essential 00:26:46.020 --> 00:26:50.660 in the nature of this church for sure. Please imbibe this. Please get drunk in it. Please 00:26:50.660 --> 00:26:56.340 marinate yourself in it. If you don't, as the days go forward, one or two or three things will 00:26:56.340 --> 00:27:02.100 happen. One, you will not be able to participate in the movements of God in this church. Two, 00:27:02.100 --> 00:27:08.740 you will begin to resist the movements of God in this church. Don't. Let's imbibe this. Embrace it. 00:27:11.140 --> 00:27:16.820 It's not change. God is not changing. This is an unchanging quality of his. God is not starting 00:27:16.820 --> 00:27:24.580 something new. Abraham was sent. Jacob was sent. Joseph was sent. Sometimes you're sent to produce 00:27:24.580 --> 00:27:30.420 a new generation. Sometimes you're sent to save generations. Joseph was sent to save people because 00:27:30.420 --> 00:27:35.700 there was a famine coming. Abraham was sent to start a people so that the earth would be blessed. 00:27:36.100 --> 00:27:42.340 Jonah was sent to save a city. But when sentance is not part of you, then Jonah becomes a reluctant 00:27:42.340 --> 00:27:50.100 prophet and then resistance comes in. Unfortunately in a church like this, when resistance comes in, 00:27:50.100 --> 00:27:55.700 God does not abandon you because he loves like she read. This is a garden that God loves. He sits 00:27:55.700 --> 00:28:04.100 there. Here if you resist, you will not be abandoned. You will be left in the belly of a 00:28:04.100 --> 00:28:06.100 whale for a little while. 00:28:12.900 --> 00:28:16.900 Jacob, are you being nasty? Are you being sarcastic? It talks about this king who began to invent weaponry, who began to farm, who began to build shields, who began to change the condition of his people. 00:41:30.300 --> 00:41:35.300 Everything you read about Uzziah was so apostolic. 00:41:35.300 --> 00:41:43.300 And then at some point pride enters. And when pride enters, he goes and starts offering sacrifices where he was not supposed to. 00:41:43.300 --> 00:41:48.300 And he turns into a leper. That's how he dies. 00:41:48.300 --> 00:41:56.300 So one of the ways that the apostolic dimension is affected by the enemies is through pride, through money. 00:41:56.300 --> 00:42:03.300 Where the lack of it or the surplus of it begins to destroy a church and destroy leaders in the church. 00:42:03.300 --> 00:42:11.300 Through tradition, where traditional ways prevent us from stepping into this part of what the church is. 00:42:11.300 --> 00:42:21.300 Through cessation. Cessation is when very well-known pastors and preachers begin to say that the gifts don't exist, the offices don't exist. 00:42:21.300 --> 00:42:25.300 This was during the New Testament time. I'm surprised at the number of people that have begun to follow John MacArthur. 00:42:35.300 --> 00:42:42.300 Where a guy who has brought out Bibles and stuff like that, but at the end of the day, MacArthur is a cessationist. 00:42:42.300 --> 00:42:46.300 And there are really good pastors that are beginning to follow him.
